but white looks good on everyone! and with every thing! what a cutie! no we are still sharing time with the Scott's...she's here though, Lyn doesn't feel well, so after her karate class tomorrow morning, I'll probably bring her down to Huntington Beach to visit for a few hours.... then later on Saturday we are going to our church for a concert....the group called Esterlyn, they are from Pastor Sieed (spelling ?) church....then Sunday is our Thanksgiving dinner with our church...so we have a busy weekend to say the least....Matt's working, but I believe he'll have Sunday off....I think.... You scared me for a second when you said you were having Thanksgiving dinner...I thought it can't possibly be time for that yet! Then I saw it was with your church and realized it wasn't going to be on thanksgiving what a relief! Thought I was going to miss the holiday all together there for a minute!
That's such a shame they don't have their own times with her... I'm shocked that the courts don't set them up. I've never heard of any grandparents being denied visitation, unless they were criminals or something horrid like that. We thought about getting court ordered visitation for some of our grandchildren, but decided it wouldn't be in their best interests in the long run and so didn't do it. I sometimes wonder though if that was the right decision or not. That's really great that you're willing to share your time with them though.
Sounds like a full and fun weekend. Jenn and her family are coming over here today too so that should be fun for us.
LOL @ Gracie! She is so cute! Too bad Gracie and Jazzy don't live close to each other; they'd probably be good friends. Well tonight John and I went to see the play Harvey at a community theater in Lexington. It was.... good, I guess. Kind of strange. I'm leaving at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) to go up to Spartanburg for the day; it's another concert day for the ladies choir I sing with. We have a partial concert in the morning at a nursing home, then the full concert at 5:00 at a church. So it will be a long day. I did email Anna last night and haven't heard back. Something must be wrong, because she hasn't been here in over two weeks and that's not like her. I hope it's just an internet or computer problem, and nothing with her health or well-being. That would be so much fun if all our grandchildren could play together... well, when you have some lol
That's so nice of you guys to sing at the nursing home. I know my residents loved it when people did that for them too.
The prayers for Anna must have worked because I saw she's posted so that's great!
Oh, I got the brochures the other day from Pastor Mills, so I'll mail you one on Monday ok? Spent yesterday afternoon with my grandson (my daughter's youngest). My daughter was tutoring students. We went to Braum's Ice Cream where I had my usual - a large Butterfinger Mix-In. Really good! Grandson had a sundae. Then we went to the pet store. Then we went to Hobby Lobby because he wanted to look at the rocket kits. I got him the one he picked out after very serious deliberation! I had no idea so many models were available. Today started out cool and rainy but the sun is out now. I'm doing laundry and reading ( Words Fitly Spoken by Donald Grey Barnhouse). I think I get more out of older Christian books than the new ones. Hugs. Sounds like you had a good day yesterday Margie! I enjoy the older ones as well. I love that one that I posted a good part of here from the 1800's!Hello, it's me Anna. I have been off here for a few days. I was checking out Pro board and clicked on delete and then was not able to log back in, so tonight I registered again anew. I'm not much for writing at night, so I will write more during the daytime. We're so glad to see you Anna as we've all been worried about you! But your old account has not been deleted hon. You can still use it: fresh-hope.com/user/27If you still have trouble logging in, just ask for help here:support.proboards.com/board/74/users-membersHello, it's me Anna. I have been off here for a few days. I was checking out Pro board and clicked on delete and then was not able to log back in, so tonight I registered again anew. I'm not much for writing at night, so I will write more during the daytime. YAY, Anna's back! We missed you!! I really started to be concerned when I realized it'd been over TWO weeks since you'd posted! Not that Fresh-Hope has posting requirements , but when one of our daily 'chatters' quits chatting.... we start to think something is wrong. So glad you are back (thanks for the email also - I saw it late last night). Margie, sounds like a really special day with your grandson! That Butterfinger ice cream sounds divine! I know he appreciated and enjoyed the modeling kit you bought him. Speaking of older books, have you (or anyone else) read The Robe? I have a copy that a friend bought me about 10 years ago... she wanted me to read it because she loved it. Well, I started it a couple of times and didn't get into it right away, so never got far. Then my friend died unexpectedly last year. Anyway, I saw the movie version listed in Netflix (from 1953), so watched it this week. NOW maybe I can read the book. Great story, from Bible times. Hope everyone had a nice Saturday and has a worshipful Sunday. I was gone yesterday from 8:15 am to 8:00 pm for our ladies choral day. It was a wonderful time, but tiring. I crashed on the couch last night and didn't even take off my make-up until this morning! I'm about to mix up an old-fashioned egg custard pie right quick for Sunday dessert, oh and start some Mexican chicken in the crock-pot, but the dessert takes precedence. I loved the Robe Lorrie! It was great! I'm so sorry to hear that your friend died though.
It all sounds delicious, but I really wish I could try some of that pie!
Well, I'd better get going or I won't be ready when the kids get here and I wanted to post a bit first...

Leigh: "Speaking of older books, have you (or anyone else) read The Robe?" I probably read it years ago and I remember the movie.

Dessert always takes precedence. Enjoy!

Good morning ladies! I have had a large bag of dry corn sitting around now for a few months and just now bought a corn grinding mill and a tortillas press. So I am ready to start making corn tortillas, like they make in Central America. I can not eat regular bread because it has yeast in it, so everyday I make flour tortillas to eat. It will be something new to try corn tortillas. Last summer when the teenagers arrived from Central America and the BP housed them in a building in Tuscon; when they feed them they gave them flour tortillas and they would not eat the flour tortillas and threw them in the trash. They did not know why they threw away the flour tortillas and then were told that they only eat corn tortillas, so after that they gave them corn tortillas to eat. I have to help do roofing work today with roofing shingles. That job will probably only take one day to finish. Well I'm off now to go read my Bible, love, Marlene

I over did it yesterday, so today I need to rest so my back will get better. Sorry guys. I should know better by now, but it seems like I just can't make myself not do stuff...
Marlene, did you see what I said about your account?
Have a good day everyone!

Yes Cindy I saw what you said about my account. I did not comment this morning because I was in a hurry. It would of worked fine for me except that the name Anna and Anna17 both have the same password, so I was unable to use Anna again. I know I could contact pro board to get the name Anna back but I thought I would just use Anna17 since that is working and I did not have anything stored at Anna settings that I would want to go back to.

ok, No problem hon. I just wanted to make sure you knew it was still there and not deleted. It shouldn't matter that the passwords the same though....
Boy I can't believe it's almost time for Thanksgiving and then Christmas! This year has gone by so fast in some ways and in other ways it seems like the time has crawled by extra slow... weird huh? Since December is coming up soon, that means that we have Elijah and Graces' birthdays, Christmas and then Bruce's birthday coming up. So it's going to be a busy season as usual.
Grace was so cute the other day. I had a bunch of books I'm trying to get rid of, and had boxed them all up except for the kids books I still have. I asked Elijah and Grace if they wanted any of them before I got rid of them all, and of course they wanted to look through them. Grace started going through them all and trying to sort them out and told me she only wanted the ones that were about God. So that's what she picked out. There were only 4 or 5 like that, but she was thrilled with them and that's what counts. She doesn't remember it now, but I read all those books to her and to Elijah too when they were very little At least those books will have a good home though.

Hello, we are having nice weather here, so nice to be outdoors. That is good that Grace got those books that you read to her when she was younger. When I was a child my grandmother used to save for me her Guide Post booklets that told about miracles that happened in peoples lives. I never met my great grandmother but I was told that she prayed and read the Bible all the time.
When I tried to use my password on the name Anna I was blocked from using it.
We finished the roofing work, next if the weather stays nice we will do outdoor painting on the mobile home. Bye for now, Anna

I'm late again, sorry guys. Michael came over yesterday and is staying with us for a few days as he's sick and needs someone to keep an eye on him. Just to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated and takes his meds (he has to take blood thinners) and that sort of thing. He's sleeping right now, so here I am! Hello, we are having nice weather here, so nice to be outdoors. That is good that Grace got those books that you read to her when she was younger. As far as your password goes, I suspect some sort of corruption in the database, but proboards should be able to clear it up for you without a problem. I could do it on our old board, but don't have access to the database here. Sorry hon. That's part of the price we pay for having a "free board".
I absolutely LOVE reading about other people's testimonies about how they were saved and about miracles in their lives or the life of a loved one or friend. I sure wish folks would post their story in the Testimony and Miracles forum because reading those is a such an encouragement for others. Plus it's obeying the Lord for He tells us that He wants us to share our stories with each other for a number of reasons...encouragement as I already said, plus it's a great way to witness as well, not only for the one telling their story, but for those reading it too as they may run into someone who would really relate perfectly to another persons story rather then or in addition to their own. It looks like I'm going to have to hire some board policemen to gather folks up and twist their arms into telling their stories Popping in to say goodnight. I've been posting on FB today and will try and get in here tomorrow and chat. OK Lorrie, looking forward to it! Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord! Good morning ladies! Psalm144:9 I will sing a new song to Thee O God; upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to Thee.
Amen! Your graphic reminds me of one reason I love the end of fall. When the leaves fall off the trees and they're becoming bare, then I get to watch the squirrels and chipmunks play in the trees. It's so much fun watching them. They make it look like a great big playground that God made just for them!
Guess I'd better go check out the threads. Between Daniel and me, we posted a ton of really good ones yesterday!!!

Hi Daniel, I like the video you posted, Third temple, peace contract. I thought it was informative and showed it to DH to watch as well. Cindy, I got the user name Anna back. I read at pro board site what to do. I had to press that I forgot my password, they sent me an e-mail, and I typed in a new password, and got everything back to normal. I so miss seeing the fall trees change colors this time of year, I am glad you can look out your window and enjoy seeing that. I also miss seeing green grass in the summer, no green grass around here.

Where is everybody, on the whole board?!? It feels like a ghost-town in here! Yes! Thank you, Leigh. This site had 49 members. Where are the other 48?!! I know!! It has gotten a lot better this week (in chat at least), but I know you post articles all over the place here that never get a comment. Sometimes I read them and don't know exactly what to comment, but appreciate your posting them Daniel. Anna, so glad you got your name back! Our fall isn't as colorful this year - John says because of all the rain we had. He said the leaves have better color when the season is dry. We just finished about 10+ days of rain, plus the flooding from last month... so it's been anything but dry here. Cindy, sorry to hear about Michael being sick. At least he's with Mom where she can keep a close eye on him. No matter how old a person gets, there's nobody quite like Mother when you're feeling poorly and needs extra TLC. That was cute about Gracie and the books. Cindy, do you just donate your books to a thrift store, or do you have a used book seller that does exchanges, or do you ever sell them (such as on Craigslist)? I have SO many books I need to get rid of. That's really hard for me to do. My daddy is a huge book lover and he raised me to believe
Get rid of anything else in the world, but never get rid of a book.
Consequently, I have a TON of books and can hardly bear to get rid of a one of them. I did manage to take a box of books over to Good Will a couple of weeks ago, but it barely made a dent in what we have here. I really need to get busy and cull through them all (especially all the old homeschool books). Well, today's Precept class day and here I sit, not ready to go, so I'd better git.

As far as what to say, I made some suggestions in what I posted about it yesterday:
Michael's wife is here now, so I've got to get going....sorry guys!

I read Daniel's posts without commenting too and I'm sorry about that because he does a lot of work to keep us informed.
Thank You, Daniel!
My husband's brother and his wife spent last night with us. They were going to Houston to visit their daughter and grandchildren but got a call that the daughter and grandchildren are all sick. So this morning they drove back home to Oklahoma. At least we got to visit with them.
Sad news yesterday and today for us. The wife of a friend of my husband's died from breast cancer. This morning a friend of mine died from pancreatic cancer. So we will be attending 2 funerals almost back to back. At least the 2 women are with the Lord and are finally healed.

We too have been having nice weather this week..down right chilly in the mornings though! this week has been kinda nice, save being late for work one day...but Rons truck has been at the mechanics so he's been getting up early and driving to work with me. We'd drop him off and then I'd pick him up, so we've spent much more time together this past week. Kinda different for sure! Dogstaff! Lorrie! Danial, I'm not good a reading the news here, I'll have to work on that....

Yes, a very interesting perspective has been presented in the video, anna.

Hi everyone! Michael's still pretty sick. I'm hoping he'll go to the doctor today. He said he would, so we'll see....
Angel's being a brat because she wants her treats, so I guess I'd better go give them to her.
Sorry to hear about the death of your friends Margie. It's hard to let go of friends, even though we know we'll be seeing them soon.
Love you guys!

Cindy, I'm so sorry Michael's still sick. Is it a cold/flu type of illness? What you said about Angel being a brat reminds me of something funny I saw on FB the other day; in fact, you might have seen it and may have even be the person who shared it. It's a picture of a dog looking at the owner and the caption says: "You give me food and water - you must be god." Beside it is a picture of a cat looking at its owner and the caption says: "You give me food and water - I must be god." Having both a cat and dog, that sums up their personalities pretty well!
Margie, I was so sorry to read about the loss of two of your friends. Thankful they are safely with the Lord now; that reminds me of this old Fannie Crosby hymn, Safe in the Arms of Jesus. Hoping the rapture will be soon and we will all be together as one family.
Lulu, so glad to hear an update on you. Glad you've gotten to spend a little extra time with Ron this week, even if it was due to truck problems. We've been looking at refrigerators for the last week (if anybody needs one, now's the time to buy... pre-black Friday deals all over the place). The sales lady at at one of the stores reminded me SO much of you, Lulu! She looks like you, about the same age as you, even has the same New England accent! Funny how I always relate people I see out in public to my chat friends here on FB.
Anna, I meant to ask you about your corn mill & tortilla press. What kinds of each did you get? Are you enjoying them? I have a Whisper Mill that grinds all kinds of grain... wheat, corn, etc. I made corn tortillas by hand a few times (after grinding the corn in the electric mill)... they were okay, but it would've been a lot easier with a press. Hope you enjoy your new equipment. That is interesting that the Mexican children won't eat flour tortillas, only the corn.
Daniel, again I do appreciate all the work you do, keeping us updated with all kinds of interesting articles. I don't know how you have time to do all that reading! Do you (or Cindy, or anyone) know what happened to Brad from our previous board? I miss seeing his posts. Most everyone else is on FB, but if he ever was, I never knew about it.
Has anyone heard an update on Jtheb?
Well I just finished a late lunch. I've been wanting to see an old episode of Leave it to Beaver, so I pulled one up on Youtube to watch while I ate. Boy those were the days!
It is a perfectly beautiful fall day here in South Carolina! Time to get back to work though.

Good evening, I hope all is going well for you Margie and Lulu, and that you have good weather this weekend to enjoy being outdoors some. I have been doing outdoors work. Yes, Leigh, I like my tortillas press, I use it everyday, but so far I am just making flour tortillas, because I have been busy doing outdoors work. Once I feel like cooking I cook extra food to put in the freezer, so that helps to do that for busy days.
I can't think of much to say today, so I will tell you about my neighbor Bucky. Bucky and some vacationing British guys took horses to Tombstone to ride, because the British guys wanted to go there. Of all the places to ride horses around here I think Tombstone would be fun, especially on the special days that people dress in the old clothes from the 1800's. Anyways they took a horse named Cricket into Big Nose Sally's Saloon and took a picture of all of them and the horse at the bar, they said the horse was drinking some beer.
Well I am off to cook dinner, ttyl, Anna

Long day here. We went to 1 funeral today for the wife of hubby's friend. She was a police officer so there were police and firemen from all over, plus a bagpiper. The church was packed.
My friend's funeral is next Wednesday.
I think I posted that I would be dog sitting this week for a friend from Sunday School. She had a family gathering this coming week in Arkansas and needed someone to take care of her dog. I found out when she brought the dog here this afternoon that the dog actually belonged to our friend who died. So it's comforting that I can help take care of her dog.
I'll take the dog to the dog park tomorrow morning. I've missed my human (and dog) friends who meet there since my own Little Bit died a year ago.
Hugs to all.

It's had to say about Michael, Lorrie. He has very severe RA and Sjögren's and since they mimic so many other things, it's always difficult to know when you're sick with something else of if it's just the RA/Sjögren's. He was feeling a little better last night and I have a feeling he will be going home today. We'll see....
I have no idea what happened to Brad. I sent him yet another email, but like all the others, there was no answer, so I don't know if he ever even read it or if it's going to his junk mail.
Nor have I heard anything from John (jtheb). I hope he's doing ok though.
Sounds like you've had a pretty good but busy week Lorrie. Hope your weekend goes well too!

That sounds like so much fun Anna! One of my relatives went there recently and shared over a hundred pictures of Tombstone. It brought back a lot of memories getting to see them again! That's so nice you'll be able to take care of her dog for her and get to visit with old friends at the same time. I know you must miss your precious Little Bit and I hope this brings you many good memories. Tonight, I went to a multi church prayer and praise meeting. The music was exceptional! And loud! Really enjoyed it. That sounds great Catt! I'm really hoping I'll be able to go to church again soon too.
Well, being Saturday and hunting season, Bruce was out in the woods very early today already. Now we need to go shopping once again. I wish we could get all we needed once a month and not have to go back every week, but there's no way we can so I might as well give up wishing it

Good Morning everyone! Hope you're having a great day with the Lord. I haven't been awake all that long, but figured I'd come on in and see how everyone was doing.
We met Jenn and her family at Walmart yesterday and Gracie got her ears pierced. She was so proud of her little earrings.
Michael was feeling better and went home yesterday, so we're back to just us again. Jenn and her family are coming over today though, so it's still going to be a busy day.

Good morning, Cindy it is nice to see the pictures that you post. It is raining here today, nice to get some rain and the air is so fresh smelling.
One of my neighbors a widower in his 80' is talking to women at dating sites and mail order bride sites. First he sent travel money to a woman in the Midwest and she was a no show, now he just sent money to a woman over seas, she needed an extra 2000 dollars, so he sent her that, then he drove to the airport when her flight was suppose to arrive and she was a no show, so I guess he will have to try again. ttyl, Anna

Margie, how sweet that you're able to watch the dog of your friend who died. Did you get to go to the park and see some old friends from when you used to take Little Bit? (Don't remember if I ever told you, but my grandparents used to have a dog named Little Bit.) My uncle is a bagpiper and used to play at weddings, funerals, etc. He's had to retire from it because it takes more air than he's got now at age 81, but he played for years and loved it. Something about hearing a bagpipe at a funeral really brings on the tears.
Catt, sounds like a nice prayer and praise meeting you went to yesterday. Glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes ear plugs are good to have handy!
Oh Anna, that is pitiful!! Poor man. Has anybody tried to dissuade him from sending money to these women?! I enjoyed your story about Bucky and the beer-drinking horse. You have interesting neighbors! Good that you're liking your new tortilla press.
Cindy, hope you have a nice time with your family today. Glad that Michael is feeling better and was able to leave. That is sweet about Gracie getting her ears pierced! You'll have to post a picture of her in her new earrings. I still have the studs mine were pierced in, my December birthstone, but those posts are so thick I haven't worn them in probably 30 years.
Tell Gracie that she's fortunate -- my mother made me wait until I was a teenager to get mine pierced, even though ALL the other girls got theirs done much earlier. I was supposed to wait until my 13th birthday, which was at the end of December, but around the first week of that December I got very sick with bronchitis and had to miss a whole week of school. Mother felt sorry for me and must've let her guard down, because I talked her into going ahead and letting me get them pierced soon as I got well, while I was still 12. Always did love to beat the system (and that sure never happened very often! ).
{I had a good friend in high school who was the cutest thing. He was a Christian and very much on-fire for the Lord (wanted to be a preacher), but also very mischievous and he usually got away with it. He always said, "You just have to know how to beat the system." I can guarantee there wasn't much "beating the system" with my parents! }
Well that was a pleasant little trip down memory lane but now it's time to get up and at 'em. We have orchestra practice at church, in a little while.

I had to wait too Lorrie and my parents were the same way! LOL She's very excited about it!
Hi Anna, good to see you! That poor man! I hope the Lord sends him a good godly woman who will help him.
Can't stay to chat today as I have to catch up from what I didn't do yesterday, and I already spent too much time posting on other threads LOL
