Good Morning all! I thought I'd better start a new thread for us, since the other one was getting rather long. When did this board come about and why wasn't I told about it? Imagine my surprise finding it. I'm so glad you did Lee! I sent you either 2 or 2 emails, can't remember now for sure, and also announced it on facebook and since then have posted links to threads here so I figured those who didn't come back, just didn't want to. I was surprised when you and Brad didn't though. Maybe he missed the emails too.
It sounds like you're doing well though. I'm sorry to hear Stan's still been having problems with that. I sure hope you don't!
I've been doing ok. Life is hard for everyone right now I guess. Our car broke down so we're trying to figure out some way to get some transportation. It looks like the car isn't worth fixing at this point, but who knows...have to wait and see. I'm sure glad the Lord knows what He's doing though, cause we sure don't!
It's been super hot here the last few days. So much so that we've been under heat warnings. The temps have been in the 90's and very humid too. Today's supposed to be better though, with it only getting in the 80's and after today it should be even better for the next few days and back to "normal" of being in the 70's. I've hated having to use the air conditioners, and don't even want to see the next electric bill!
I've got a bunch of paper work to do today. Have to try and see if I can get help paying for that doctor bill from yesterday.... I sure hope so.
Hope you all have a good day today!

Good morning everyone. Cindy, thanks for starting a new thread for us!
Lee, it was nice hearing the update on your family. Maybe your email address has changed, since you didn't get Cindy's notification about the new FH? Because did you get the group emails we 'chat people' did in the interim, between the old and new FHs? We kept that going during those weeks, and I don't remember you ever posting then, so I'm wondering if the email address we have for you is an older one?
I'm missing Brad also and hope he's doing well. I also would love to hear from Prairiewoman, but she had not posted in many months before the old FH closed and I never had any additional contact info on her, so there's no way to know unless she finds this new one. But I think of her from time to time and pray for her.
Cindy, so sorry to hear about your car. Were you able to find any help for the doctor's bill? Their fees have gotten so high it's almost impossible for anyone to pay out-of-pocket. I can also sympathize with you over the woes of the extreme heat. It's been brutal here with many days at 100 degrees or just over, and our A/C runs nearly nonstop, PLUS all the fans, and STILL I'm burning up half the time!!
Well, just two more days of VBS. It has gone well this week and I think we'll make it! Thank goodness for my teenage girl helpers because they have nice young minds that remember the words and motions to the songs that I am constantly confusing. I know they must be thinking, "What is wrong with her?" It's fun though, and it has been a nice change to actually teach a class since for the last 10 years I've been one of the guides that takes a group of children around to each class. There's no prep involved in being a guide (other than to call the children before the first day), but it's a longer day, and as a teacher, once my last class leaves my room I can go home (although I usually head straight to the teacher snack room and grab a snack before it's all put away ).
My intent was to come home each day from VBS and work on painting Daniel's pumpkin room in the afternoon, but so far, each day I come home, eat lunch, and fall asleep for a very long time. Then I wake up and do nothing {ie - get on the computer} till about 5:00, then spring into action for a few hours. Haven't made much progress on his room, but there's always next week.
Well, gotta run.

Good Morning all!
Wow, 100 degrees and more! I couldn't handle that no way! No wonder you're falling asleep and not working on that room Lorrie, how in the world could anyone do anything in that kind of heat???
I promise I sent several emails to everyone, but those are people I haven't heard anything from.
As far as the doctor bill goes, I won't know for another week or so. All I can do is pray and hope.
I'm feeling really tired today myself. But I want to go see what's new and make sure I've replied to anyone who's replied to other posts.
Have a good day all!

I miss them too. I hope Prairiewoman is OK.
It really hot here too. We can water only twice a week so I carry pitchers of water to plants that are really wilting. I Do Not want to know what our electric bill is!
My Sunday School class had its monthly lunch today. I drank 2 big glasses of sweet tea; I was so hot and thirsty.

I can only imagine the heat there Margie, it must be just awful! I hope it cools down soon for you.
Sorry I'm so late today. I've been writing a post I decided to call The Fear of the Lord, and that's what took all my time. Oh yeah and I shared a devotional called Expenses too. I posted a whole bunch of stuff yesterday though that I hope others will like. It's all in different forums like the Book Reviews forum, Testimonies and Miracles, Everyday Life, and Trials.
Jenn's coming over to take me grocery shopping, so I'll be gone most of the day. I didn't wake up till 8 this morning and am still in my pj's. Haven't done anything except spend time with the Lord and write that post, so I guess I'd better get moving huh, even though I really don't feel up to it.
Oh, I showed Bruce that video in the thread A Cat's Guide To Taking Care Of Your Human about the robo fish. Rascal saw it too and he went nuts over it! I found those fish real cheap on Amazon, although there are a number of higher priced ones there as well. But I found them for only $2.98 plus $1 shipping, so I'm hoping to splurge and get one for them, if I can talk myself into spending the money lol.
Hope everyone's doing well!

Happy Sunday everyone!
Anna, I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but hopefully this afternoon. Thank you for posting - I know it will be great!
Lulu, hope you're able to get a little (or a lot!) of rest today - you need it!
Cindy, I'm enjoying all the great articles you are writing lately - you really crank it out - love it!!!
Margie, sounds like you had a nice time with your SS class lunch. We are not on watering restrictions here - yet; we are still getting some rain but probably not enough.
Time to get ready for church. Love & hugs to everyone else.

Hi all,
Well I don't ever check my email as the only thing I really use it for is when I buy something online for the confirmation emails and I haven't bought anything in ages! I have clicked on some of the things you've posted on Facebook Cindy but none that lead me here. Go figure!
Anyway its good to be back!
Sorry to hear about your car troubles.
Leigh I understand about wanting to do stuff when you get home but being to tired, I do the same thing!
We've been pretty lucky so far this year temp wise. Its been back to normal and not record breaking like the last few years. We've also had a lot of rain, still have drought conditions but its actually kind of green this year.
Went to a new church today here in town. its in my BIL's restaurant. They hold services before it opens on Sunday morning (They never have been open for breakfast) and had about twenty people. The preacher preached on Hosea. I agreed with everything he said except one thing. We'll probably go back. As for our other church its been almost 4 years since the pastor left and they haven't been able to get anyone to stay so I'm really questioning whats going on behind the scenes there.
Well Chelsea's here now for dinner (and she brought laundry! What a surprise lol) so I'll be going now.
See you all later!

every one, it's been a nice but short weekend. Ended up working 6 hours on Saturday. but I got done what was needed and then some....upon getting home, I took a nice long nap...then just hung out with Ron... Today church was fun...sad though, we lost a member last weekend, he had a heart attack...Jerry, he was a very much loved member of our church. He was a real servant at heart, he will be missed. Another had a three way by pass, and is doing well, and yet another's X husband, but very good friend and father of their only child got murdered...satan is sure busy... After church we had a picnic in the park, Ron and I did beef and chicken tacos, they were a hit...so it ended on a happy note, a good day to be alive and with church family. back to reality in the morning, and it comes fast... remember to keep our country in prayer...we are headed in a wicked direction....it's happen fast..

Hi everyone. Just popping in and out. Just found the new thread. I wasn't getting any notifications for new posts, I figured I'd come looking for ya'll. Very tired. I worked outside for 5 hours, today. My plan was get out there at the break of dawn and beat the heat. I was an hour late getting out there though, but 7am wasn't too bad. Had dirt on me from head to toe. Literally. Then it started raining, so I had to put my tools away and come in. I went in the back door and stripped at the washing machine and went straight to the shower. That was the best part of my day. That shower. LOL But, I did get a lot done, out there, and Ed even was able to do some things, too. He's in so much pain, and I am helpless to help him. I was so sleepy after my shower that I sat in my chair, hoping to take a nap and wound up staying there until 8:30 this evening, dosing on and off. Just no energy left. But, I do hope to be able to get out there and finish things up tomorrow morning. I'm weeding my flower bed in the front, and relocating plants, and hopefully will get it all rocked in and be done with it once and for all.

Hi everyone. I don't know if you saw my post last night on facebook, but my computer died. I've finally got it going again, but now I have a ton of work to do...bills, phone calls, etc. So I won't be able to post today as it's slow going since I'm not feeling too well. Sorry.

Hi Cindy here is a site you might want to look at for work for home. www.workersonboard.com/Appointment_Setters.htmlHi seven, enjoy your month off of work. Are you going to vacation somewhere, swim in the ocean, or take a camping adventure? Hi bystillwaters, nice looking necklace you are wearing, did you make it? That is nice that you show a picture of yourself, it is always nicer to see a picture of someone. I am looking at Jamie Oliver recipes, he is my favorite chef.

Anna, I meant to come back and tell you how much I enjoyed the video of the little girl singing. Her voice is amazing - it surely doesn't match her age! Thanks for sharing!
Seven, thanks to you also for the video - I just listened to it too! Hope you enjoy your time off.
(((Cindy))), sorry you're not feeling well... wish I could help. I am enjoying the articles you're writing lately.
Lulu & Lee, how's your work week going?
Bystillwater, it's nice seeing your picture! I think it's great that you have a new interest - are you making jewelry to sell?
Cheryl, I admire your ability to accomplish so much in your yard. John, Daniel & I worked together trimming shrubs on Saturday evening for only about 40 minutes. I was TOTALLY wiped out for the rest of the night... of course the heat and humidity have been bad, but I've never had any stamina for working outside. I often wonder how long I would have survived if I'd lived in a time when people HAD to do heavy outdoor work.
Well I am still trying to paint Daniel's room and have to say this is the longest it has taken me to accomplish a project like this! I just can't seem to get any big chunks of time to work on it, so have to do about 30 minutes per day... one day, do edging on one wall... the next day (or maybe a couple days later), paint that same wall..... a few days later, edge the next wall... etc. Just tonight I got the first coat on the 4th wall but still have to do the stairwell & don't know how I'm going to reach the top. I had hoped to have it all finished with at least 2 coats by our vacation which starts soon, but I won't.
I have exciting news though... when we go on vacation we are only going to be a couple of hours away from where Cheryl lives, so she is (hopefully!) going to drive down half-way so we can ACTUALLY meet in person!!!!! I am BEYOND thrilled! It was such a joy meeting Margie ("Dogstaff") last year when she came though town on her vacation, and now it looks like Cheryl and I will get to see one another also! I hope it works out for us! We'll keep you posted.

My older sister and I got to go to California, the month I turned 11 years old. That was in 1970. The lake was all dried up, at the time, and Jackie and I got to climb around on the rocks, that would have been the bottom of the lake. I found an odd rock, and got to keep it. It was in the shape of a man's shoe, about a size 12, LOL. I had that rock for many years. It finally got broken....don't remember how, though. But, it was neat and everyone wanted it. LOLAnna, I meant to come back and tell you how much I enjoyed the video of the little girl singing. Her voice is amazing - it surely doesn't match her age! Thanks for sharing!

Yeppers, it looks like we will be meeting each other in just under a week!! I will be bringing my camera, for sure! We need to talk about it, some more, so we are on the same page, as to where you'll be and where you want to meet.
Lorrie, I don't know how they did things back in the day. I can't even imagine it. I mean.....they didn't even have air conditioning to find relief from the heat. But, then again, I wasn't raised with air conditioning, and don't remember heat like we've had in the last few years.
But, I did manage to get things done. 12 hours in two days, where I did the major portion of the work. I did a little, a week or so ago, but couldn't get back to it, due to all the rain and then the heat, rain...heat...rain heat. It's been a viscous circle. And then, of course, with rain, you have weeds that continue to grow. This is what my rock garden looks like without all the weeds. I looked to see if I took a picture of the "before" and see that I didn't. But, here is the cleared bed.
And this is the tall grass and weeds I removed.
I'll be so happy when I can get back out there and finish transplanting, putting in the protective border around some of it, and then rock it in. That will give me the relief, knowing that my weeding days will consist of just snatching a few here and there, and no more forest of mess, anymore.
OK, I'm very sleepy and have to be out of the house early in the morning, to run an errand, and then get myself on to work.

Anna, I'm really excited about that site you shared! I've checked them all out and there are some that look like they'd work for me and they are legit. Of course some of them aren't very good, but that's true of any job anywhere. But at least this gives me some great possibilities, thanks!

Cheryl,it is always nice to see pictures of your yard. I remember once when driving through KY how pretty green the grass was in that state. That will be nice if you and Leigh can meet in person and talk. I thought you would also like to look at the on-line work site posted.
Cindy, no I have never worked at any of the places posted. It is not God's will for me. If I ever did look into any of them I would be interested in the hotel reservation or West inbound calls. I will pray if it is God's will for you, that you find the right job to apply for, that God will lead you. Chat is interesting to read, people talk about their experience with working for some of the places, like the ones that give out reward points that can be cashed in, that would not be something I would be interested in and some people had problems with that. So I will say the prayer for you but I believe that we will be raptured real soon and hope you can hang in there OK until then, that's just my thoughts.

Another hot day here. Grandkids will be here tomorrow to help with housecleaning and yard work. I baked cookies early this morning so they will have snacks to keep up their strength. I will get a pizza and salad for lunch.
Cheryl and Leigh, that's great news. Glad you will be able to meet!
Hugs to all.

Hi all,
Leigh that is so cool that you and Cheryl are going to get to meet! I know the highlight of our trip to CA a few years ago was meeting Lulu and Ron and the family.
Not sure whats going on but I can barely type three words and my browser stops responding. It wasn't happening on any other sites so I'm going to get out of this and see if its happening on other sites for me now.

Amazing! We've broken the heat reacords in NH and had the hottest days since 1949 I think they said! It's sure been hot!
I've got to get going now because Jenn's taking me grocery shopping again today and it seems to take all day. Not used to shopping with children anymore lol. It's fun, but it sure wears a body out!
I'll have to spend the weekend looking up the rest of those jobs and figuring out which is best. I can't wait!
