Ya Cindy, that’s part of it, we just can’t seem to all get not busy in order to sit and talk it out....we did see Doug this weekend but he was working on some things for his mom, out in the pasture, they are putting up a fence. Which is good! But Joe couldn’t make it over....but we’ll be up again in feb. so we’ll just keep trying...... and Judi is still very wishie washie on making decisions...still to emotional...she wants us there, but still wants the house to be used as a vacation home for people from over seas....I just don’t see that happening, but she’s kinda hanging on to that idea.... if we do move in I think she’ll abandon that idea, because she wants us there, and we’ll be having fun with the property!

I would like to hear what happens with Elijah ( to the degree you can tell without crossing over into gossip.....which I know you would never do....but that is more my temptation).
So yesterday, Devon told me he only had 4 more chapters in Genesis ( he is re-reading it, esp. now he has a MacArthur study Bible)....he did ask ( on the way, to church) why did Joseph hide money in his brothers packs?
Ans after church he asked me in the car if I had any paper....I asked why did he need it.....and he said, because he wanted to look up some scriptures the pastor quoted, but didn't want to forget what they were.....
So you can kind of see, on the one hand he is draw to following the Lord, but yes, the temptations are big.....
My granddaughter, even said, the strangest thing awhile back. She had gone to church with us a few times, and noted a 'cute' boy, who was making the fou fou coffees. Then she didn't go for awhile, and one day I mentioned he was still there.
So she says: Yeah...he is cute but he is probably weird.
How? I asked.
Well, he probably doesn't even have a cell phone?
What???
Like that is a major disqualification???!!!???
But that IS life for so many young folks..... talking face to face, is almost getting rare LOL
the devil really hit it big time, with video games, and cell phones! Arrgghhh!!
You all have the greatest solution for keeping your things.....be sure it is super 'girlie' LOLOL

Ok, then I'll pray that the Lord will bring you all together and that decisions can be made and finalized, ok? Should I ask that it be done by the end of February, or just leave the timing up to the Lord?I would like to hear what happens with Elijah ( to the degree you can tell without crossing over into gossip.....which I know you would never do....but that is more my temptation).

You all have the greatest solution for keeping your things.....be sure it is super 'girlie' LOLOL Sure, I'll let you know if/when it happens lol. Now that you mention that about the cell phone, it reminds me of a test that actually already happened, even though it was against his parents wishes. Jenn and Bob have told the kids all along that they wouldn't be allowed to have cell phones or other electronic devices until they had jobs and were old enough to pay for them themselves, and even then, they'd still have to use them according to their parents rules. Well, on Elijah's last birthday, someone gave Elijah a cell phone! They told Jenn about it the day before and she told them they didn't want the kids to have anything like that, but since it had already been purchased they allowed it, but told Elijah on his birthday, that once the minutes on the phone were used up, he wouldn't be allowed to have anymore. They also told him that he could only use it in the living room when they were present and only for an hour a day. Elijah was very good about it and obeyed them without whining. But we all saw that the way other kids treated him changed when he got the phone, and when his minutes ran out, we saw they treated him differently. He got a bit riled up about it for a day, but realized himself what the problem was, so that's one test passed. But then this same person went and bought Grace an i-pad for her birthday! So they had to go through the same thing with her! Oh yeah, and another rule is that they can't take them with them when they go places, like when they come to my house lol. They don't mind that though, because they've heard us talk about how rude it is when people play on their phones or pads when they're supposedly visiting at someone elses house.
But yeah, cell phones are for sure a big issues for most kids today. What blows me away is that many preschoolers have electronic devices like i pads!
Yeah, I thought it was a very interesting way that Joseph came up with to test his brothers to see if they'd lie about the money to get out of being in trouble or if they'd sell out Benjamin the way they did him. Basically he was trying to find out if they'd changed and just how deep that change went. I hope you have a good day too Lulu!

Thanks Cindy...and that was very interesting about your families cell phone, I-pad etc. experiences.
It's strange tho, Vanessa seems wedded to her cell phone whereas Devon to video games and you tube mostly. However, he does do art work, and writes stories etc.
I am not sure why that is....why one is more into one electronic than the other...just seems odd. Of course there is the cost factor....but even videos, the internet etc. have a cost.
But I can see for even myself, one lure or trap, that maybe is not highly noticed?
For me, any strong 'emotion'...like anger, sadness, fear, etc.
I would MUCH rather deal with by writing...than face to face.
I know there are people who have no problem with that like lawyers, CEO's, police, actors, etc. etc.
They relish ( well at least much of the time) 'fireworks' and want to be right in the action...me...not so much.
So perhaps teens who are often dealing with so much 'drama' feel 'safer' behind a cell phone?
of course, (I'm thinking), is the real issue....
is anybody bringing the Lord into the situation? Or is this 'dealing' with it on our own?

Good day, we are having nice weather, not much is new with me, just doing the same stuff I usually do. I am not keeping up with work that I have to do, if I did keep up I think I would only work and sleep and I have done that before in the past, but no more for me, I am putting fun first before work now, fun like nature walks and playing with the dogs, feeding the birds everyday it is fun to do bird watching. Yes Cheryl, a pink umbrella keeps the husband away from it, buy one it will keep men away from you, lol.It is magical. I bought a pair of jeans and I see the jeans don't have front pockets, grrr, that will not do, so I am off now to sew in some front pockets. I have been praying Christians in the country of Iran, many there are now coming to know about Jesus.

True, each person has their own personal weak spot that Satan, their flesh and the world can work on. What's good is when we realize what our weaknesses are so that we can fortify against them.
Personally, I think cell phones and texting are so popular because people can get away with saying things to others that they would never, ever say to the persons face. We saw that even on our old board, in apologetics especially, but also in other forums. People not only say things texting (or posting online) that they wouldn't normally, they also do things they wouldn't normally do. What we saw on our old board is done even more rashly in texting. Sometimes it does involve strong emotions, but many times it doesn't. Or perhaps I should say that often where in real life, person to person, those emotions wouldn't have been allowed to become so strong, they're let free and encouraged in texting. It seems "anything goes" when you're texting someone.
Another thing I've noticed about texting and social media is that ignoring people is another thing that's often done. Where in real life no one would just ignore a person that was speaking to them, it's often done in social media and texting. The new rule seems to be, if you don't like what a person says or don't want to admit you know something they're telling you, just ignore it.
Lastly, but I've said this before, I've also noticed that while people text a lot, and share things on social media, the "conversations" if you can call them that, are much more shallow then what people used to have with each other. While the art of conversation began to be lost with the coming of television, the internet and then social media seem to be it's death knell.
Along with that, it seems that people's attention spans have become much shorter as well. I noticed this years ago and for a long time thought it was just my imagination. But I've seen it too much and know it's true and have had others tell me the same thing. I was surprised the first time that happened, but not since then. Except when a young adult said the very same thing to me recently, as most others had been older people - that surprised me! He also hit every one of the same problems I've mentioned here, which surprised me even more. (I used to babysit him from the time he was a baby until he was in middle school, so he stops by to visit now and then). I had a pastor mention these things to me as well.
I have been praying Christians in the country of Iran, many there are now coming to know about Jesus. No pockets? that should be against the law lol! It sounds like you're enjoying yourself, and that's always good!
I hope everyone has a good day today!

That's interesting ( and true, I think) about the shorten attention span. A lot of people agree with you, Cindy.
For example, I watch Amir Tsartiti ( an Israeli Christian), who posts videos about 45-to 55 mins long.
He often ties current events in Israel and the Middle East, with Bible Prophecy of the end times ( Jan Markell has him a lot, on her prophecy show/program)
However, recently, he started another youtube channel called:
Bible Bites.
The 'Bible Bites' are aimed at millennials with shorten attention spans... so the videos are only between 50 mins to 3 mins long( tops)!
I agree social media seems to have people saying things that in the past, society ( in general) keep at bay or a minimum....like anger, hurtful words, mocking, lies, etc.
but a part of me, wonders if social media is just allowing mankind's sinful nature, more free range.
In other words, what they are saying and doing, was always inside, but now they are expressing what was under cover, so to speak.
About ignoring people tho, I have actually done something similar in 'real' life.
If I am very tired, in pain, or just do not want to deal with something a person is saying....(not good 'reasons tho)
like a neighbor totally into New age, Gaia, evolution, witchcraft, or a false gospel, or cult, politics etc.
I have found ways to move the conversation in a different direction ( which to me, is in essence, ignoring them).
On the one hand, social media is, I'm thinking, showing God's true assessment of the sinful nature of people ( more and more, as they really are)
and on the other hand, it makes me long all the more for the Lord, and the rapture.
However, You made me laugh... I sooooooo agree with you NO pockets!!! That SHOULD be against the law!!!!!!

still raining here....4 days now...some city's are having a heck of a time with flash floods, and others with the mud slides...haven't heard a lot about it, so I think it's not much, but today may change that. four days in a row is a LOT here.
talked with my Cuz Judi last nite, she sounds ok...not feeling well, she stayed home from work and stayed in bed most the day she said. but felt better last nite. Ron's still not feeling well, this cold is hanging on, and I'm trying wicked hard NOT to catch it...my throat has been feeling rough, having to clear it often, not sore yet, so I'm drinking my honey and apple cider vinegar water a couple times a day... I am loving the rain though...just wish a good thunder storm came with it! have a great day all !

Oh Absolutely! Social media isn't bad in and of itself, any more then TV is. It's what we do with it and how we use it (or allow it to use us) due to our sin nature as you said.
I understand what you're saying about ignoring people, but that's really not totally ignoring them which is what I meant. I meant literally totally ignoring them as though they weren't there and hadn't said anything (or rather posted anything).
Yep, you hit the nail right on the head. I remind myself that God tells us in Romans and other places what the signs are when a nation (or the world) has become totally godless and depraved. When we read Romans 1:24–27 and continuing, we often think to ourselves, "yeah, that's happening right now with the homosexuality, transgender stuff, etc, and it is. But what we're missing is that when God turns people over to this in a big way like it is now - where it's out in the open and being celebrated as 'good" etc. that it's the last straw; God is revealing His wrath by abandoning people to their sinful ways. Basically He's giving them what they asked for - He's no longer restraining them from their more abominable sins. That's what happened just before the flood, and again on a smaller scale, just before He destroyed Sodom and the surrounding area. So while these poor people are celebrating their sins, we know that God is preparing an even more awful judgement - in the form of the Tribulation. I hope and pray that some will turn from their wicked ways before Jesus comes to get us to save us from the wrath that's coming!
It makes me happy to know when I can make someone smile, and I like it even more when I can make someone laugh!

I'm sorry to hear that Ron's still dealing with that bug and that you may be catching it too. It is a nasty one that doesn't like to let go. It sounds like Judi has it too. It's weird because you'll feel better one day and the next day be sick again; or even feel better for a couple of days and then feel sick again! It most certainly doesn't play nice! I'm still coughing up all kinds of junk and blowing my nose like crazy. But I don't know if it's still that virus or if it's the Sjögren's. either way it's not fair lol.
I'm glad you said that about your apple cider vinegar, because I forgot about that and I'm going to go make some up for me too!

Wow I did not realize how badly I missed typed Bible Bites. they are 50 seconds to 3 mins long......
3 mins is the longest for a Bible Bite video...they are aimed at millennials who have such short attention spans.
Tho Amir does prophecy updates that are around 50 minutes LOL
Sooooo I forgot to tell you all. I called the medical insurance provider. They told me that they still were paying their portion for pain meds but.... Because we go to Rite Aide and it is being bought out by Wallgreens .... I think she said and They do not work with Wallgreens. so we will have to switch to Safeway which is the only other parm in our town.
The whole thing is still weird tho.

I am glad you had a good day at home. I don't go to church any longer, too sick all the time now days. It's so hard just getting to the Supermarket & I don't do it often.
We had a very quiet day here in Sydney Australia. It was a pleasant day. The heat wave we had has broken but it is still hot & even humid as it was supposed to rain but all we got was a few drops. :(

Sorry I was AWOL yesterday. Bruce had his appointment with the neurologist yesterday morning and I had to go with him. It was very hopeful. He prescribe4d a med which I had already told Bruce that I thought would be very helpful and would have asked for if he didn't offer it himself. He also asked to have the orthopedic doctor (who Bruce sees next week) give him a cortisone injection in his neck as well as his back. Something which I believe would also help greatly. I'm not sure if Harrington does neck injections though, but I'm hoping he does. Unfortunately, Bruce's head and back have been acting up lately again. He missed a day last week and is really hurting today and not going in to work. He's in bed actually. That just tells me that it's high time for another injection. He was supposed to have gotten one last week, but they had to change his appointment. So, in case I forget to remind you, I won't be here next Monday either as that's when he sees the other doctor. Prayers for his continued healing are always appreciated. Thank you my friends!Thank you! It's sunny here but tomorrow it's supposed to get really cold. I ran errands today. Not much going on. Hugs.
It's sure been cold here lately! I canceled my doctor appointment on Monday because there was no way I was going outside when it was 20 below 0! I had to go out for Bruce's appointment when it was in the low single digits, but at least it was 2 degrees above 0 LOL. It's supposed to get a lot warmer for the next few days though, and then get cold again. Working again today...overtime yaaa? NOT! But we do need the extra $$$. Have a great day!
Well, glad you're getting the extra money Lulu. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!Wow I did not realize how badly I missed typed Bible Bites. they are 50 seconds to 3 mins long......

The whole thing is still weird tho. lol I guess both my guesses were off then, sorry. Sadly it's not just the millennials that have a short attention span any more. It's spread into all age groups, although I'd say that they're the hardest hit.
Does that mean that if you get your meds at Safeway, they'll still pay for them?
Wallgreens has caused numerous problems for pain patients and I believe they've been sued and have been looked into by the FDA even. Remember that link I gave you about pain meds? I read the article about it on that site.

Every once in a while I get to go, but it's very rare. I've been blessed the past couple of years though in that my pastor's wife comes to visit at least a couple of times a month and sometimes more often. She's such a blessing to me! I totally understand about grocery shopping too. On the one hand I look forward to it as it's almost the only time I get out of the house, but physically I dread it as it causes me a lot of extra pain and I pay for it the next day as well. But I try to keep my mind in the heavenlies with Christ and remember that our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us! Praise God!!!
It's so strange to think of it being hot where you are and the middle of summer when we're in the middle of a bitter cold winter!

Yes, I do believe ( at least for now) I can still get pain meds, if we switch to Safeway.
The insurer said, they still paid for them ( up to 80 MGS I 'THINK' she said..... I do not take anywhere near that amount....so I should be fine).
We are not thrilled to have to move....Safeway ( since its the only grocery store in town) is super super busy....and especially in the summer when the tourists come!!!
Rite Aide, tho it gets a bit busy from time to time, is nothing like the grocery store.
And then, its just a small hassle.... plus, we are used to going to Rite Aide...well Leonard almost always is the one who goes and picks up our meds...... And he is not big on changes.
But if that is what we have to do....oh well. We have not done so yet.
I am tempted to call Rite Aide and tell them of my chat with the insurer, and let them know the insurer said: that they were STILL paying for the pain meds, not what the pharmacist told Leonard... and then ask them what the deal is???

That's a wonderful blessing Barbara! I bet you're sure glad you called! Yeah, it's always a hassle to have to change where you get them, but at least you can still get them, and that's the most important. I'd certainly call and let the pharmacist know what they told you. But I'd do it in a kind way, giving them the benefit of the doubt that they simply misunderstood what the insurer meant. But then I know you're always kind anyway! This is another great answer to prayer though!

I hope everyone's having a good day today. It's off to another doctor's appointment for me today - he wants to check my blood pressure again as it's been pretty high lately. Remember, Bruce has an early morning appointment Monday so I won't be able to be here that day, but will catch up with everyone on Tuesday.

wow what a long week, 56 hours! my back is sore from stilling straight, and my eyes are tired...
Cindy I pray all went well at your doctors appointment.
was looking forward to going down to my Cousin, but alas, Jess is still at her dads, Norm, he's been pretty sick, but he's hanging in there....so Jess is staying longer.....what a blessing that she can..But Matt didn't get his matters in order and we are having to stay home with our Ash. I wish the house in Cherry Valley was in order, She could have come with us. It might be easier on Mace if they came with us together.
and it might be I need the rest because I've been fighting a cold all week. Feeling not good but not bad either...
it was a productive work week, it was good to be that busy, that 10 hours a day went by ok....

Everyone. Just popping in for a short note. Lulu, I love reading your daily posts. Glad your work picked up for you. Wow, when it rains it pours, huh? I'll watch for your thread in trials, when you write it. I looked, but didn't see one.
I talked to my BIL, last night. Ed's sister Mike's husband. He's holding up ok, since Mike's death, as well as can be expected. He still needs me to do his taxes for them, so I get to do that, as soon as the paperwork gets here. That'll keep me busy for a couple of days. This will make the 2nd deceased tax paper's return, I've done in 2 years. The first one that I ever did, was Joshua's. I suppose that the older I get, the more there will be. I'm really getting tired of getting left behind.

Lulu So sorry about your friend!!!
So, as it turn out we switched back to Rite Aide.... Because I did talk to Rite Aide pharmacist...
And
he said, it had to do with how my doc wrote the morphine prescription ( Norco is fine)...
apparently because it says take 1/2 a tab....it works out that it becomes a 2 mt prescription.....
and
evidently due to some national rules, ( unless an emergency or something, for a short time, or some long involved paper work for an exception)
And
because of the Opioid 'crisis' they only allow people a one month supply...per prescription.
Which means my PCP will have to write the prescription differently.
Anyway, at least for now, we can keep our meds at Rite Aide.....unless something else happens.

I'm sorry your get together didn't work out Lulu. I sure hope you start feeling better soon. I'm sure you do need the rest!
Yes, the doctor appointment went well, and he gave Bruce a total of 8 injections, 4 in his neck and 4 in his back. By the time we got home, Bruce was feeling pretty tired, so we stopped by his work and he told them he was going to stay home and rest for the rest of the day, and that's what he did. He's off and running today though and says his head already feels much better! I'm so glad for him! The poor guy has been through so much and has been trying to work every day even though he's in pain. I sure hope this does the trick for him like the last injection did. The doc said he was feeling the way he was because the other injections had worn off. (and by today the new ones had kicked in).wow, quiet weekend....ours was uneventful, we didn't go to church either...I'm gonna have to post something in the trials room....Ashlynn was missing her mommy this weekend...I pray Jess's dad gets better so she can come home. we all miss her.... up and ready to face the dysfunction world...some what...
Poor Ashlynn, I'm sure she does, but she's lucky to have you guys to count on. I'll be sure to go look for anything you post there. Everyone. Just popping in for a short note. I'm glad you've got some work to do to keep you busy, if that helps you. It's so sweet of you to help people out by doing their taxes for them! Sad this morning...some of you might remember my friend Sage? Well along with her other health problem she has breast cancer....😢 Its gonna take a bit to get through my emotions before I can write out my thoughts in the trials forum..... Oh Lulu, I'm so sorry! I do remember her and that's so sad! Poor lady! Lulu So sorry about your friend!!!

I'm having problems due to the so called opioid crisis too. My doc cut my prescription down, so I have to lean on the Lord more then ever now.

Good morning all! I hope everyone is having a good day today. I've got a bunch more paperwork to do today, so I guess I'd better get to it. But for some weird reason my scanner stopped working, and makes a horrible sound when I try and make it scan something. I have no idea what's the problem is. I'm afraid we'll have to get a new one. Oh well, such is life.

Oh well, such is life. OH, OH, Cindy. Silly question, but did you try unplugging it and then plugging it back in? And is it a sheet feed scanner? If so, see if a piece of lint or paper got caught up in it. It's amazing what a speck of paper will do to a machine. It happens at work, all the time.
