HA, I got a new chat thread! wicked cool!
Well Grandma Eva is up and helping Jess in the kitchen, Hospice will not intervene because there's really nothing wrong with her, just wicked lonely....so I think the kids are gonna stay the week, then all of us, will go over for thanksgiving...
the sky is pretty this morning, blue with orange clouds from the sun rising,...but not real quiet, sirens off in the distance, I can hear the freeway this morning...the winter stars are brighter then the summer ones, so in the early morning I can see stars, a dozen or so...

Great! Congratulations Lulu! (I just added "FH Chat #12" to the beginning of you title so others would know what it is... I hope you don't mind.)
That's so sad. I understand hospice can't get involved, but you'd think that old friends or better, church family would come around regularly.... I'm glad you can all go visit for thanksgiving though.
Well, took Bruce to the doctor yet again yesterday to see if they can figure out the pain he gets in the back of his head since the accident. He ordered another MRI. I sure hope they figure out something. He has gone to work this week and seems better, but who knows when it will happen again....

congratulations Lulu for FH chat 12 I have recently seen orange clouds with blue sky at sunset here, it was pretty to look at. One of the women Mare at COT chat lost her home to the fire that is now burning in CA. I saw a picture, nothing left of the home, can't even tell there was once a home there, her sister got hurt at the time they had to leave the home and she had to go to the hospital.

Congrats Lulu for new thread. It's a balmy 85 degrees here in Sanford FL. But tonight, the cold front, yeah! Is coming. Lows in the high 40's at night, highs in the low 70's during the day. Can't ask for better weather! My pop is out of the hospital and is home recovering. Thank you for your prayers. Shirley and I are doing ok. That's it for now. Have a good rest of your day.

It's been cold here in the Dallas area. Tomorrow is our retirement community's Thanksgiving dinner because the cooks will have a holiday next week at the real Thanksgiving Day.
This afternoon the weather man from a local TV channel came here to talk. He was really interesting.
I have most of our boxes unpacked. Still have a few more to go. Hugs to all.

Cindy that was the first thing I thought also about grandma Eva....I don't believe she has a church family, and I guess a few friends do and have stopped by, but many times she wouldn't answer the door....it is sad..but she's doing fine right now....how's Bruce today?
Moving right along on them boxes Margie!
thanks on the congrats...I remember Cindy saying that we could grab a new thread, so I was waiting and watching this time...

Well, Bruce has gone to work each day so far, but I've hated to see him go because I could tell just by looking at him that he wasn't really up to it. I know he felt like he didn't have a choice though if we're going to eat and pay our bills. Mainly he comes home and changes into something comfortable like sweatpants and then sleeps till supper time. Then he eats and goes back to sleep. He's getting some blood work done today after work, and then tomorrow he's supposed to have the MRI done. However, the weatherman is saying we're supposed to get our first significant snow starting tonight and into tomorrow. Bruce has already said that if the roads are bad, we'll have to postpone the MRI. I hope we won't have to do that though. So you can see why I appreciate all the prayers for him. He needs them!

Hi, I'm glad Bruce is back at work. Its a hard slog to get back and going, I'll keep praying for him.
For anyone affected by the CA bushfires - you have sympathies from this side of the pacific - we had pretty nasty ones around Melbourne in Australia, it was so hot it would kill people 200 yards away from the radiant heat.....anyone who is "missing" I hope they find alive. From what I've read over here, it seems the CA didnt do proper back burning (?) , and if so, you have massive amounts of fuel for the fires and I doubt they would let people clear scrub on private property as well. We had the same problem here and result - massive fires, loss of life. Nothing to do with the myth of "climate change" - it seems to be green ideology run amok.....
As to why I left the FB prayer group - it was about leaving FB, not the group. I wanted out of FB, its an awful platform and bad in terms of privacy and use of facial recognition of photos etc. I work in IT so it was an easy choice. I loved everyone in the group, just not where it was hosted. I hope that clears everything up.
But I was praying more people would come back to FH as well - I am expecting FB to ban *all* christian groups soon. They appear to be heavily censoring Christian content and banning conservative groups, the writing is on the wall, now..... FB will collapse, but not before its cataloged, disected your life and got up in everyone's grill. Once you understand the beast, its a good idea to permanently get out. FB is so so sooooooo liberal.....
Come, Lord Jesus - we need you now. When hospitals offer putting people down like dogs, how is it any worse than the evil that pervaded the land in Noahs time? The land was filled with violence, and God regretted had made man....
'But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.'
( Matthew 24:37-39 )
'And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.' ( Genesis 6:5,11,12 )
'Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh,
are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.' ( Jude 1:7 )

Could not agree with you more sw7777....I still post on FB but most Christian videos like John MacArthur sermons ( while we still can), and other pastors, and occasionally some news item.....but not much 'personally stuff....I am not sure I ever did. But yes, FB is censoring conservatives and Christian content, as is youtube. I used to have maybe 100 channels I subscribed to on youtube and now I think I have about 25.....meaning youtube banned 75% of the ones I subscribed to!! I imagine they will ban Macarthur soon also as he promotes marriage of one man to one woman ( as the Bible says), etc. So I am watching and then posting those I still can on FB while I still can. I look nothing like my photo on FB anymore, grey hair instead of brown etc etc etc. And yes, climate change.....ummm the climate has always changed! From ice ages to tropical abd back again....when there were no factories or cars etc. and without co2 we would have no plants!!!
Cindy I am praying for you and Bruce still. I pray his pain will go away!!

Like I said, I use it as a mission field mostly.....but like you said, might not be for much longer.
I really have never posted selfie's, and day to day private stuff, and I go only once or twice a week, unless I listen to pastor Weirsbe, or MacArthur etc. more than that.
( I aim to listen to at least one sermon a day, but it doesn't always happen.....
I feel it super important to get as much of the gospel out, while it is still day ( as the Bible says) and that is one way to impact more people....even if most do not watch the sermons....( I doubt they do) still, they see the scripture subject for that day, as they scroll down.

I hope everyone has a good day. We lived in Plano beginning in the early '70s. We were transferred away from Plano but then transferred back, for a total of about 25 years. I've been in Wylie. This entire area has grown so much.
Warm and sunny today but tomorrow we're supposed to get cold again.
Got all of the boxes unpacked. I need to get the empty ones to my daughter in Ft. Worth so she can have them for her move. They're leaving on December 9.

The doc's office just called about Bruce's MRI results. There are some changes since before the accident, so now they're sending him to a neurologist. The doc doesn't think it's anything significant, but doesn't want to take any chances either, so wants to have the neurologist look at the MRI and check Bruce out too. I just hope they can get him in fairly soon. Bruce doesn't know about it yet as they just called me, but I'll tell him when he gets home from work.

'Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh,
are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.' ( Jude 1:7 ) I agree about facebook. I wouldn't be on it at all if I thought I could avoid it. Now I try to just use it to point people toward God. It's amazing the things you see on it though. Not necessarily in a good way. What's amazing to me is that so many people who say they're Christians, hardly ever say anything at all about God; or if they do it's something non confrontational and acceptable by the world like, "I'll pray for you" or "God bless you", and that's the extent of it. The ones that are at least a bit braver will also post a few graphics with a scripture on it. But it's very rare to see a person who's supposed to be a Christian actually talk about God or His Word on facebook. The few that do really stand out, that's for sure! You can get a good idea though, of who really does have God at the very center of their life and their being. That can be pretty discouraging after awhile. It's no different than "real life" though. When I think of many people I know who go to church every Sunday, and how they speak and act from Sunday afternoon through Saturday night, you sure can't tell they're any different from anyone who's not saved. Then there's the people who's only purpose seems to be to argue, and put others down, and call them names, when they're supposedly "defending the faith"; just like it is in most apologetics forums.
Sadly, I doubt if we'll see many come to Fresh Hope. I used to hope so back before i shut the site down. And facebook was a large part of my decision to do so. I just felt like I couldn't fight it anymore. People prefer to post there for some reason. I sure don't. I don't like seeing swear words or hearing about things that are disgusting, and I sure don't enjoy reading about someone's fight with their boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or whoever. It seems like people just love to share their dirty laundry with everyone. I'd much rather post here, or anywhere that's a true Christian site where we wouldn't have to deal with that kind of trash. Oh well, I guess we have to roll with the punches. I do my best to only see and share things that are about God and His Word, or are cute and/or funny - but in a clean way, without bad language and without it implying anything that's bad. I do share things to warn other Christians about something/someone that's teaching something false, but try to share more about great things about God's Word - like a great sermon, article, etc.
Just before I came here, I was praying that the Father would send Jesus for us soon... I do hope and pray that He does!

I love my teenage granddaughter but it is so sad how that generation is sooo addicted to social media. While talking to her last night, I mentioned to her the 'cute' Christian boy she has seen at church ( she noticed him several times....but she was still to sick to go to church yesterday....but the cute guy was at church again). Then, she says to me: "Yeah, but I have a feeling he might not be into social media, maybe.... he doesn't even have a cell phone (gasp), and that would be just tooooooo weird"!!!
Then, I mentioned to hear a report I heard about why the suicide rate in teens is skyrocketing, and one of the main causes is social media.
I told her one of the things is young folks cherry pick their selfies ( only post those that make you look your very best, enhance it with photo shop even, and only photos showing you having the time of your life etc.).... But then..... other teens look at those photos and determine they could NEVER look that beautiful or their life is NOT fun fun fun
and soon, depression sets in, and eventually, they are so discouraged and lonely ( social media is not face to face personal contact) they decide to end their life.
So she said ( about the I can never be as pretty comment I made): Oh yes, I was just saying that to myself today, while looking at other teen images etc!!!
And yet... its as if life could not go on without a cell phone!!!

That is interesting Barbra. I have noticed how important texting messages is too young people, yet I don't experience that need because I am not that generation that grew up with cell phones.

I saw an article in my old hometown newspaper about my niece's 10-year-old daughter where she had a local clean-up project. She was wearing makeup and red lipstick, she and her younger sister have been involved in fashion shows and have always worn makeup, seems strange to me, but then I am old and not as well understanding children and young people.

That's so true. I hate it when I see kids with cell phones or anything that gets them on social media. My oldest daughter lets her kids on social media and they all have their own electronic pads or cell phones to do it with. When I've gone to her house, I see all the kids sitting around not talking, but just messing around on social media. It's disgusting. I'm so glad my youngest daughter won't allow her kids on social media and won't allow them to have cell phones or i pads or kindles etc. They can use the computer which is in the living room, so Mom can watch what they're doing. She's explained to them why she won't allow it and they've accepted it. When their cousins come over with their kindles and phones, they ask Jenn how they can get on her wifi and Jenn won't tell them. She tells them instead that they're there to visit with her kids and that doesn't involve electronics. I've done the same thing when they come to my house too. Sadly, it doesn't do much good, because they can still play offline games without the wifi. It makes me feel like they shouldn't even bother to come over. Our son and his wife stopped by this afternoon. We will be at their house on Thanksgiving. Running errands and doing laundry today.
Hope everyone is doing good. Hugs.
That's nice. It sounds like someone is always stopping by to see you! That is interesting Barbra. I have noticed how important texting messages is too young people, yet I don't experience that need because I am not that generation that grew up with cell phones. They have the need because their parents allow them to use them constantly, which is mainly because the parents do so as well. having a hard time waking up the AM! having my but it's just not doing it for me this morning! I think I'll have to bring one with me in the car....in a travel mug of course. I like face book for keeping up with family and old friends, prayer request and news....very selective on the news sites though.
it's almost the weekend! long weekend!
California City is in California Cindy. I hadn't heard of it either! but it's up there somewhere! we're gonna find out for sure! lol
LOL I'll have to look it up too lol. At least that makes more sense then it being in Arizona!I saw an article in my old hometown newspaper about my niece's 10-year-old daughter where she had a local clean-up project. She was wearing makeup and red lipstick, she and her younger sister have been involved in fashion shows and have always worn makeup, seems strange to me, but then I am old and not as well understanding children and young people. I can't stand to see children in make up and dressed like a sex object, and yet I've seen some as young as 6 years old looking like that. It's hard to believe parents would allow it, but it's the parents who buy the clothes and make up and help them dress and put it on. My oldest granddaughter is in the fashion business and models wedding dresses and formals, but doesn't wear make up and lipstick for it. Well she does now that she's 22 but not when she first started when she was a young teenager. Nor did she wear it at all even then, except for the show itself, and even then the make up was done correctly so that it didn't look like she had make up on.

It breaks my heart that kids are (in a way), already, partially 'merged' with electronics, and I am afraid it will only increase.
Yes, and the makeup and sexy clothes for kids younger and younger... maybe, if anything is worse, is the un-binary, gender neutral, clothing.
For example, many, many celebrities are posting image of their sons 'rocking' dresses (we could say cross dressing in going main stream), and Céline Dion new clothing line for babies ( the ad is super creepy)
so.... no pink for girls babies, or blue for boys, but a 'nice' ( NOT) ...very demonically scary black and white cap of skulls and skull images on the new born's sleeper ( whatever sex they may or may not 'choose' to be when they grow up...the idea is God made a mistake and humans are the ultimate captains of their life)
in her ad she states babies are not our own ( to prove it, you might rather buy outfits saying, New (World) Order).
So either way, its more than sad....
And yet, we do have a lot to be THANKFUL to the Lord about:. it is getting closer and closer to His return.... or as chat # 12 says: keep looking up, He is coming soon!
Also all this continues to prove God's word, more, and more, and more!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Lulu, be safe traveling. And if anyone else is traveling, please also stay safe!
Congrats on the new thread, Lulu!
I got all caught up on everyone's posts, but too far behind to respond to everyone, but know that I am praying for everyone. Even for those who don't post that they need prayers.
I hope everyone's Thanksgiving is full of laughter, fun and family today! And full of thanks to our Lord, for every day.
I tried to do Thanksgiving, alone last year, but it wasn't fun, and I felt like I was forcing it because it's a holiday. So this year I decided to just know that I'm thankful EVERY day, and today is just one of those days. So, instead of broasting a chicken and fixin's (a turkey is just too big for just me. And no I don't freeze turkey.) I decided to have pancakes for a late breakfast, and am going to get caught up on my favorite shows, and probably fall asleep in my chair. Yep..........lol............just another day!
I was traveling several days ago, and was passing through a construction zone. The pavement was odd, and the tires made a distinct sound. At first I actually did think that I was hearing the shofar! Has anyone had that experience? I felt a flutter in my stomach and was feeling SO calm in anticipation. Wow, what an awesome feeling! I was also looking for a direction to safely point the car, because I was about to vacate it!

We were at our son's house today. He's only 7 miles away from us now instead of 40. His wife's family was there too and we hadn't seen them for a while so it was fun. I brought deviled eggs.
Today was sunny and mild here in Texas. Hubby is watching the Dallas Cowboys on TV. Happy Thanksgiving Hugs to all.
