Daniel, thank you for the lovely video. I don't remember hearing that song before and it is beautiful, especially with the children's voices singing along. There's nothing quite like a well-done children's choir singing praise to God. And the photos in the recording are so soothing. Loved it all. Thanks!
James - that storm (or tornado) was terrible! I am so thankful it did not happen during the school year - what a tragedy it could've been. Thankful the principal made it out alive. Felt so bad for the teacher who just had her room carpeted, and for the new roof that was destroyed. At least those things can be replaced, but still I hate seeing destruction. Do you live near this school?
Thank you for the news link; I like keeping up with happenings in the towns of our FH family. It makes the news so much more personal when we know someone who lives there, even if we only know the person online.

Daniel, thanks for posting the lovely music video, I am going to watch that more than once. James, I hope all is well with you after that storm, wondering how you are doing, and thanks for wishing us blessing from the Lord.

Leigh, I'm glad you liked the news link. The station is about 1/2 hour ride from were we call home.
anna, Praise the Lord, we are all safe with no damage in our area.
There was one strong storm that broke up into 2 parts, the one in the news was to the south of us and the other was headed toward our location. I praise the Lord because after prayer the storm that was headed our way simply broke down into some rain with a little lightening and thunder. We received a inch of rain in our rain gauge.

Daniel, Thank you for posting that song. So encouraging. Just what I needed too. James, Good to hear people giving God the glory for keeping them safe in the storm. The Lord gets no praise from our Northern NE TV stations.

'Rejoice In The Lord' was written in 1981 by Ron Hamilton who is also the soloist featured in the video.
Praise the Lord.. for His lovingkindness is everlasting and His compassions fail not. They are new every morning, great is the Lord's faithfulness unto us.

Amen Daniel Cindy, glad you got that donate button on the main page. Leigh, about that German Shepard dog Sparky at Art's place; after we prayed about the dog growling at me I went over to Art's place and glanced at the dog and she looked like she was smiling at me, I did a double take and looked again at her and she had that same look on her face. I thought it was funny and knew it was an answer to prayer.

Hi everyone. I'm so sorry that I seem to be so AWOL. I try to get in here to read and update, but it all gets away from me. I know....excuses, excuses.
We did something, yesterday. I'm not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. We traded in our car for a "new to us" car. We were increasingly needing to do this, (for mechanical and health reasons) but we didn't owe anything on our car, and haven't for a couple years, and now we owe. I hate payments, and the feeling that I don't own something. And I also don't want to let myself get excited about it, too much, because I have too many of my beloved Christian family who are in such need, and I go and buy a new vehicle. I want to feel good about this, but I'm having trouble with it.
The kicker was a flyer we got in the mail, yesterday, from the place where we bought our Suzuki, telling us to come in and they would outright buy our car. I know it was a gimmick, to get us to buy another piece of junk from them. So, Ed and I continued our discussion about getting rid of our car, and decided to look around and see what other kinds of "deals" were out there. We prepared by cleaning out our car and vacuuming it good. (it needed that anyway, because of all the plants I've been hauling in it.) LOL, I still had rose petals in the back floor board. We took our title and release papers with, just in case. And came home with a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. I like it, and it's comfortable driving it, and I don't have to wrench my back, every time I get in and out of it. Both Ed and I were having so much trouble climbing down into, and up out of the car. It just hurt too much. It's a little higher up than Ed realized, and now he wants to save up for some running boards, because it hurts him to get in and out of it, for the opposite reason. So, I'm going to fix him up with a stepping stool, until we can afford the running boards. I posted pictures of the vehicle on FB, but for those of you who are not over there, I can post a small pic here. I hope it's small, anyway.

Nice car. Does it have 4WD too? No, I don't think it does, but we are still finding out about it. It's got something called "all wheel drive", but I don't know if that's the same thing. It says in the book that it engages automatically with road conditions. Not sure I like that.

Hello, I have moved at last and am nearly dead with strain. My kids have done all the work now I can't find anything. Leg is very stiff and painful john Don't feel too bad, John. At least you have an excuse for not being able to find anything. When Ed and I remodeled our kitchen, I put things in much different places, then kept changing my mind where it goes. And I can't find anything, and I did it myself.
I'm glad you're all moved, now, though. But, I'm sorry your leg is still so painful.

Hope you feel better soon, John. Moving is stressful, even when you have help.
Cheryl, I like that new car. If a car is hard to get in and out of it's not worth it. I felt the same way about getting rid of my Honda CRV, but it needed a bunch of work. I think a newer car is worth it in the long run.
Spent yesterday afternoon and evening at our daughter's house. They got a small, used sailboat and since their lake has water in it again (yea!) they wanted a sailboat. Years ago my husband had a sailboat so he was the teacher for the kids' first outing. And they got lost! Went into the wrong slough (sp?), had to turn around (not an easy thing to do in a sailboat), hunt for the right slough and sail home. But they had a blast!
Me - I think that sailing is nothing but work. If I'm going out on the water, I want a big-motor, steering-wheel type of boat. Fire that thing up, drive around and then home, then just park it. No messing around with all those sails, lines, and other nautical stuff with funny names.
Really hot here. Doing laundry. Hugs to all.

All wheel drive is great in the winter. Uses more gas than 2WD. I've never heard any one complain about the way it functions though. Maybe the older models. but not the newer ones.
John, so sorry your leg hurts so much. Praying God will remove the pain and heal you. I understand about losing things. When I moved 2 years ago, I carefully labeled each box. Still couldn't find things. For example, I had to buy a new set of measuring spoons. I managed to bring a box of knickknacks and leave my dishes.
Sailing on the cool water sounds nice.

I would MUCH rather have a motor and steering wheel. My first husband and I used to canoe. We loved it. But, I was young and could do all that work. And it was great exercise. But, now, no thanks. lol

Cheryl, that looks like a nice, comfortable car to drive around in. What is the mileage on it? I like the color of the car. I have a light gray colored car, 4 cylinder, so I get good gas mileage, but I have to pay a higher auto insurance rate on the small car. I have a 2006 car with 75,000 miles on it. I thought it was time to sell the car because of the mileage but Art said I can go to 130,000 before I should let the car go cheap to just get rid of it. HI John, Catt and Margie.

Oh Cheryl, that looks like a great car! I love all wheel drive! I'm so glad you were able to get it! Praise God!!!! Don't ever feel badly for being blessed Cheryl, the Lord blesses us all and it's encouraging for everyone when see see someone blessed by Him, because it reminds us that God is working even when we can't see it. I'm so glad you posted it here, because I don't get to facebook much except to post what the Lord tells me and don't hang around on it for more then just a couple of minutes. I just can't take all the stuff that's on it.
John, I'm so glad you posted! I've been thinking about you a lot lately and hoping you were ok. I'm glad you got moved and that your kids did the work for you. I know it's still exhausting though. I'm sure you'll find stuff little by little, the Lord will help you.
I have to agree Margie, I also much prefer a boat with a motor! it's been really hot here too.
That's great about the dog Anna. They can be so funny!
Hope you're doing well Catt!
I posted a picture of the bite in that thread if you want to see it... yuk!
I was watching a recording of one of my shows the other day on TV and the commercials were driving me nuts even though I fast forward through them. I was getting so angry about one of them. It's a commercial for a "new program" called "Impastor" about some gay druggie that takes a real pastor's place in a church. But as I was fuming over it, I suddenly thought, you know, you're really being petty getting this upset about it when there are real people, men, women and even children being severely persecuted all over the world for their faith in Christ. What's a little ridicule compared with that? Next thing I knew I was sobbing and crying out to the Lord to protect His children and to help me pray for them. I vowed that every time I'd see that commercial, I would use it as a reminder to pray for them, and so far that's what I've done.

That is good Cindy that when you see a negative commercial mocking Christians that it instead reminds you to pray for the Christians that are being persecuted.. I also want to remember to pray often for persecuted Christians.

Cindy, that's a good idea to use those commercials to remember to pray for people. I'll also pray for the actors in the stupid commercials who feel they have to embarrass themselves for a living.
About the car. I still have concerns over it. But, I also am concerned about the thought of keeping the old car, and then have something mechanically wrong cause us to get stranded, and then not have a car at all. Or one that is trade-able.
Anna, the new vehicle has 95,000 miles on it. More than 30K more than our car did. The difference here is that 1)It's a Chevy, and can handle that kind of mileage, and 2)It's not a foreign car. lol When I traded in my Chevy S-10, it had 139,000 miles on it and only recently was giving me some pretty expensive trouble. That's the ONLY reason I agreed to trade it in. Otherwise, I'd still have it. LOL, our 1989 Silverado has 198,000 miles on it, and runs like a champ. It also has a California emission system on it, which is the best thing since sliced bread for a old vehicle.

Cheryl, we have a 1992 Silverado truck, it is the prettiest color of blue, but we did almost every new repair to that truck, as we enjoy doing that kind of work, we even rebuilt the transmission and engine and more... Two months ago it got Ron home in limp mode, then once home it would not start. Ron didn't know what was wrong with it, as we checked possible problems, we even bought a new computer chip. It turned out the problem was the distributor. We got a new one and now it works fine. You say you like the California emission system on the truck and I wonder why, unless it makes the tailpipe put out less smoke, I would think that system would cause your truck to be bogged down with less get up and go, horse power. That a lot of miles on that new used car you bought, I hope you didn't pay to much money for it.

That a lot of miles on that new used car you bought, I hope you didn't pay to much money for it. Your truck sounds pretty and a good Chevy too. There were two trucks, side by side, when we bought our Silverado a couple years ago. Both the same year, and price, but the other one didn't have as many miles on it. (ours had 188K on it then) But, the difference between the two trucks were like night and day. When you fired up the one we bought, it fired right away and no black smoke, and no burned oil smell, coming from the engine (a sign there wasn't a leak somewhere) The other one stank like old oil and gasoline. And when we fired it up it choked a bit then blew black smoke so bad that I hollered for him to shut it down. Wow that was bad. Yes, you're right. The CA Emission system does the job of keeping the black smoke from happening. And it doesn't bog the engine down in any way, like a catalytic converter does. And it gets better gas mileage, if it is allowed to do what it was designed to do. Haul things and driven on the interstate, instead of the slower roads. Can you tell I like my Chevy truck?

DH Ron likes his Chevy truck. I tell him I would like to drive the truck to town when I go on long trips and he tells me to drive the car instead and I tell him I sure could merge onto the Interstate better driving a pick-up truck, but he doesn't respond back to me.

Hello everyone; it's mighty quiet around here. Daniel has been away on a mission trip this week (not far, just in NC), Thunder the dog is away for the day being groomed, John of course is at work, so it's just the cat and me (and he's not too chatty ).
It's been so oppressively hot that I decided to spend a few minutes out back, straightening the deck while it was still shady, then I started taking pictures of the screened porch, then started posting them on FB, and before you know it -- an hour is gone. I have to get busy inside now.
So much to do... so little time!
