I'm finally back!!!! I sure have missed everyone!
I posted this in my other thread but saw we should have a new chat thread and figured this would be a good way to start one. LOL
It's been a crazy few days here. We not only lost the internet, but even lost the phone line for awhile! Then on top of that, I tried to use my kindle just after the internet went out, hoping it was only temporary and would come back on in a minute, and accidentally clicked on something which turned on some sort of tutorial so that my kindle wouldn't work at all. All it would do is tell me what everything I touched was. Since I didn't have the internet, I couldn't use the "Mayday" feature or look up how to turn the thing off on my computer even. I was soooo frustrated! Thankfully the phone company sent a great tech out yesterday and he was finally able to fix it. He had to put in a whole new phone line. Not in our house, but from one town over from us, to our house! After that, he had to do some other things outside the house and then inside and finally on my computer giving us a whole new connection for all our devices. Best of all, everything works great! He didn't get done till late afternoon and by then, I had to hurry and pay the last of our bills for May, which of course are now late since I couldn't access our bank account either till now. So I'll have to call a couple of places later and let them know they are getting paid, it's just late. Better then not getting paid at all though. It's sure good to be home!

I wanted to tell you about our crazy weather too. It's been very unusually hot here for the last week or so, like in the low 80's. We were all sweltering. I know that's not hot for many of you, but it is for us, especially this time of year. But the night before our first hot day, the temps went down to freezing and we had a late frost! I couldn't believe it! Praise God though, that yesterday the temps went back to normal and even a little lower then normal. I don't think we ever made it up to 60 yesterday and today the high is supposed to be 50! Starting Wednesday they're supposed to be more normal which is around the high 60's to low 70's. Just strange is all. But I've seen on TV that the weather's been a bit weird everywhere lately.

Yes, the weather is weird everywhere. But, "we" have expected this haven't we? Up where my family is, they are using their furnaces. Down by me, it's unusually cool, but comfortable. Except for all the rain. It's making it a damp cool and that is painful. But, I can breathe, so there are plus sides to everything. lol My plants in my garden are doing GREAT. Ed insisted that we buy a yard sprinkler so that I don't have to spend so much time out there, watering the garden and so that he can just turn it on to help me take care of it. So I picked up a cheap one the other day, and we've only used it twice. LOL The Lord has been watering it for us!! (oh darn, the 'praise the lord' smiley isn't there) OK, time to go find one.......

God even sends nitrogen in the rain. Making everything green.
My 2nd floor apt was so hot (high 80 F), that I bought another air conditioner. But the thermometer said 67 this morning inside, with no A/C. Trying to catch up on the leaning tower of laundry. My washing machine is in the basement. So I am getting exercise, whether I want it or not.

No rain again today. Cooler here but still a nice day. Did laundry, went grocery shopping, made pot roast. Good grief, I live an exciting life.

Good Morning all! Wow Catt, it must have been a lot warmer in Milford then it was here in New Ipswich yesterday. I don't think it ever made it up to 50 all day here. I was freezing yesterday when I woke up and even colder this morning. It's 45 again now, and again they say it's going to get up to 50 by 2 pm, but I'll believe it when I see it. Its still raining too. We don't dare use our heat as we can't afford anymore propane. A lot of folks are in the same boat this year. We just pile on more blankets wherever we're sitting and wear the arthritis gloves to keep our hands warm LOL It's hard to believe that just a few days ago we had the AC on and were sweating.
I figured it wouldn't be hot for some of you guys LOL
Yep, the Lord told us it would happen, that's for sure Cheryl!
Kelly, some folks won't do their part for any reason it seems. They just don't care I guess.
Well, I guess I'd better get back to work on the behind the scenes stuff again and get that finished up. Then maybe I'll still have time to post some stuff too. That would be nice! Oh, I got pictures of my garden blooming, so maybe I can upload those and post them for you all!
See you all later!

"LOL" (sorry whoever it is who doesn't like the use of "LOL" , I think it's Anna) - but to me that IS an exciting life! Now if you'd opened a can of soup (like I did last night), that's not so exciting, but all that you did PLUS a pot roast.... well, that's the good life. Good morning to everyone. Congratulations, Cindy, on starting Chat #2. Isn't it wonderful having our chat back?!
I would like to ask you all to be praying for my 21 year old son, Timothy. I don't think I've mentioned it except I did tell Lulu that time we talked on the phone, but anyway --Tim is leaving today to spend the summer in Sacramento with a friend who will be doing an internship at a church. Tim is transferring to a Starbucks out there and will help this young man with his church ministry during off-work hours. They plan to return sometime in August. They will stay with the friend's sisters and brothers, who live together in Sacramento (the parents are deceased).
Timothy has never ever flown and HE has no worries about it, but if you know me then you know I have a fear of flying and of course even if I'm not flying myself, I plan to just transfer that fear to my children whenever they fly. Just kidding (sort of). Maybe you'd better pray for me too! They leave late this afternoon and will fly to Chicago, have an hour layover, then arrive in CA late tonight. I'll keep you posted about it.
Thanks so much!!

Good morning Cindy, I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of your garden. I like this forum for FH better than the previous forum that FH used. Leigh, I laughed in my heart about your fear of flying and transferring it to Timothy. I will pray for Timothy. I would be nervous flying in a commercial airplane. Ron and I are getting the ultra-light airplane ready to fly, just waiting on a battery for it, then Ron can fly in the air around here. I was just thinking before signing in here that I wish I had enough courage to fly that ultra-light plane in the air, I almost do, not quite. If I was younger I probably would of been more adventurous than I am now as I seem set in my ways now, mostly set to sleep.
I hope you have a fun day today Margie, Catt, Julian, Seven, Lulu, Cheryl and Mark.

Hi Lorrie and Anna! I'll say a prayer right now Lorrie. Remember, Timothy couldn't possibly be any safer on that plane even if he was home with your arms around him, because he's in our Father's arms. I have to admit that I like the "lol" too.
Glad you like it Anna!
Where's Lulu? I hope she's ok!
I just finished working on all the smileys for this theme and getting them all changed and in order. The codes are pretty much the same thing they were on our old board. Like for the hugging smiley, it's a colon, the word hug and another colon. Easier to just click on the smilie for most though I changed the smilies and added a bunch of others and got them in some kind of order for you anyway. I'll work on the other theme tomorrow and add the same ones to that one in the same order, so it'll be less confusing for when people go from one theme to another one. After I get these two themes completely finished, I'll see about adding another one for us, but that probably won't be till next week as there are still some things I have to do on these two themes first.

Thanks very much, Anna and Cindy, for the prayers. We need them... even the packing is stressful! (It should've been done by now... that's part of the stress! Plus he has two friends over here right now also.) We have to leave for the airport in a couple of hours because we have to return a late text book of his, then we want to get to the airport a couple hours early since it's his first flight and we don't really know what to expect.
Cindy, SO happy to have our smilies back!!!!!

So I am getting exercise, whether I want it or not. OH, cool! I figured out the multi-quote feature! lol Took me a while to remember to look for it, so now I did. I said, hmmm, select post? Wonder if this is it. Sure was. lol Catt, I would not like the inside of the house to be 80, but outside, to me 80 or just 75 is perfect weather. If it were 67 inside the house, I'd be turning on the furnace. lol We keep the a/c around 76 and when we have the heat on, it's about the same or a little higher in winter. I set the thermostat to 74, last night for Ed, because he couldn't breathe, and we about froze ourselves out. Ed said bump it up. lol So, we gave him a nebulizer treatment and turned on the ceiling fan to circulate air for him, but, it still didn't help, so he's been up since about 3am.

It's not hot to me either, Margie. And I see you have a good life, there girl. Doesn't sound like there is any drama involved, and that's a good thing. And the pot roast is a bonus!

Cindy, I love your new thread and what you are doing with your yard. It's so beautiful!! Nope, 80 isn't hot here. Well, unless I'm working outside. I can break a sweat in the weather we are having now. At least, I did yesterday for sure! Dug two holes, set some more border around my plants, and replanted two of the 3 mums that I took out of the ground and potted, until they got strong enough. I didn't cut them back last fall, so they were having a hard time getting going again. I have one more to put back, but my back gave out on me, yesterday, so I had to quit.

Lorrie, I saw Timothy's post, this morning, saying that he was going to live in Sacramento for the summer, and I immediately went into a mini-panic. And now the flying thought just adds to it. Of course my prayers are going up for him right now! And adding prayers for Mom and Dad, for your son's safe travels, and your nerves. I hope you have a fun day today Margie, Catt, Julian, Seven, Lulu, Cheryl and Mark. Anna, I too have a natural fear of flying. But, more so, I have a fear of heights, so an ultra lite would be out of my range of consideration. lol!! And we are not so much set in our ways, as we are just more careful now, knowing that our bones are needed for everyday life! Cindy, I'm absolutely thrilled with the addition of the old smiley's. THANK YOU! It's really not all that difficult to please me.
Well, I haven't gotten a whole lot accomplished today. Didn't feel like it, but I do need to clean my kitchen. And that is next. I worked outside, yesterday and am in a bit of agony for it. My cell phone that I've been using decided to ignore the charger now. That makes the 3rd cell phone I've gone through in the last couple of months. They are all old phones that I've had up in my closet for years. Flip phones. The one I've used for years, suddenly decided to stop working, so I got out the other one, just like it, and it was dead as a door nail, so I got out an even older one, that I used when I was trucking and it worked great. But, that's the one that won't acknowledge the charger now. I remember now, why I changed phones. It did that to me, years ago too. And I just bought new batteries for it. They came in a pack of 6 batteries. Problem is.........they need to be charged. OH well, so Ed and I got online, today and ordered us a new phone. And are you all sitting down? It's a smart phone. The cheapest one they had for a pre-paid plan is what we got. These people just don't get that some people still use a phone as a PHONE, and not a toy. So, at least if I get a job that requires me to have a cell phone, I've got one that I can convert to a regular plan, if need be. so, I guess that's ok. maybe. It's just so frustrating, because I hate extra expenses. So, I told Ed to let this be my birthday present and be done with it. I'm too old for birthdays, anyway.
OK, time to clean my kitchen and then mess it up again to cook supper. lol

Good morning Mark, always nice hearing from you - hope you had a restful night! Cheryl, it was so good to see your nice long post with everyone's quotes! You and Cindy are so good about quoting and replying to each person. It makes us all feel special when you do that! And Cindy, thank you again for restoring our graphics! I have missed them ever since the other FH shut down. They add a nice personalization to our words. Cheryl, hope you're going to love your smart phone! Text me sometime!! Well, thank you all again for the prayers for my Timothy. He arrived safely in Sacramento just after 1:00 a.m. our time (10:00 p.m. their time), and although I don't know the details yet, it sounds like he enjoyed the trip! First he flew to Chicago with an hour layover, then on to Sacramento. During the layover, of course we were anxiously waiting to hear from him; we had a group text going between the three of us -- John, Tim, and myself (John was traveling himself last night). Timothy wrote: "Just got to Chicago Airport! Chicago is a very long, skinny city." John then asked how he liked the flight and Tim replied:"It was fun! Definitely a new experience. This Chicago Airport is something else. It is such an amazing mixture of people all over the world!" Then he texted a picture of the swanky commode (at the airport!) and wrote: "I'm not in Irmo anymore!" (Irmo is the name of our little town.) Hahaha! Anyway, it turned out to be a fiasco just getting him ready and down to the airport in time (which we were there in plenty of time). Timothy is one of the most highly intelligent people I know, however when it comes to daily living he is for sure the absent-minded professor. I'd kind of forgotten about that since he's not been living here for the last few months, but while getting him ready, I recalled thinking in the past that I hope he marries a girl with good organizational skills who's willing to act as "personal assistant" and take care of the details in his life... otherwise I don't know how he'll survive! Part of it was that flying is new to him and he didn't quite know how to prepare, but anyway, it all worked out. He got packed and I made a spaghetti lunch for the four young men who were here before we left the house. His good friend Josh got home from college last week, so he went along with us to the airport. It was really nice having Josh along as he kept me occupied talking (and Josh usually isn't a talker, but he kept up a good conversation all the way home). Timothy sent me a sweet text after we left him, thanking me for all the help. Oh, and I wanted to thank LULU (again) for something that she said a year or so ago that was profound and has stuck with me ever since. Some of us here in chat were talking about how hard it is, watching our children grow up and leave home, but Lulu said she sees things a different way, that she wants them to "go out there and have an adventure." That was one of those light-bulb moments for me that, yes, that IS how a mother should feel -- SO, my goal throughout this journey of Tim going to California for the summer was to be able to say that to him -- and with God's help -- I did!!! (With a smile and didn't even cry!) When we were saying our good-byes at the airport, I gave him a big hug and kiss and said, "Now go out there and have an adventure!" then I hugged Mela and told him the same thing. And when I got home and posted a picture on FB of the two of them with me, I captioned it: They're leavin, on a jet plane.... going off to have an adventure! So Lulu, thank you -- you probably never realized when you made that one innocent comment how much it would mean and how God is using it to help me through some difficult times. My apologies for a long, self-centered post. Anybody who reads all of it deserves an award! Okay... next!

That was really beautiful Lorrie! I loved reading how much Lulu's comment meant to you!
I'm just stopping in real quick to say hi. I was shocked when I opened my bible library this morning because they'd given me for FREE another 1,873 books!!! That's right, it's not a typo! Best of all, I recognized the names of some great biblical teachers/pastors among them, so I'm very excited! It took me hours to simply add the commentaries to my commentary collection so they'll show up when I'm reading the bible and I can easily check them for whatever I'm studying at the time. Now I have well over 600 commentaries! I have no idea why they did it, but I'm so very thankful to the Lord, for ultimately, they came from Him! Anyway, that's why I was late getting here and now I have to hurry and work on that other theme if I'm going to get it done today.
Love you all!

Good Morning all!
What a wonderful way to celebrate her birthday Lulu! I still remember when my parents took me to Disney Land and then much later to Disney World. They're memories that will last a lifetime!
I've seen on the news for years now that many kids are living with their parents because of the economy and that often it is like you said, with 3 generations in one house as that's the only way they can survive. They said it's often grandparents that are caring for the grandchildren now while the parents go off to work. It reminds me of the bible times when it was the norm for 3 or even 4 generations to live together for those same reasons. Guess it's another way we've gone full circle...
I loved taking care of my grandchildren for my oldest daughter the years I did. Then when their dad got a different job and it was no longer convenient for them to have me watch them, Jennifer began babysitting for them. While I missed doing it myself, I was thrilled that Jennifer was watching them. I felt a lot better about having the children watched by family instead of some day care or stranger. I get a kick out of it to this day when I see Michelle's kids, cause they often sound just like Jennifer. Over the years they picked up a lot of her sayings and gestures. But then, Jenn's kids have picked up some of Michelle's sayings too, which is funny, since of course they all spent the time together. You can sure tell they're all from the same family!
Hope works gets easier for you Lulu so you don't have to work so much.
OK, Cheryl reminded me by her post that I haven't shown people how to do the multi quote thing and other stuff like that, so guess I'd better get busy....
Hope everyone has a good day!

Oh no, I read a comment about how to do the multi-quote and went off to find the instructions (that comment was included in Cindy's quote above, but I deleted that part) -- went to look for the instructions, got sidetracked reading other threads, and forgot all about it until returning here to post.
That is SO like me these days. What they say about being middle-age and distracted, fuzzy thinking is proving to be true, and I never thought it would happen to me! (Where is the smily that throws himself down crying? That's the one I need right now and I don't see it.)
ANYway, I was going to first quote what Cindy and Lulu both said (let me just copy Lulu's part now): Thank-you Lorrie, for the compliment...most people think I have a hard heart for my feelings about the kids going away...but then again around here, family's live together up to 3 generations in one house! Matt's still here, but to no fault of his own...he's moving up though...job wise....I'm wicked glad that Tim made it safe and sound...Sacramento can be a wicked fun city... That is something I've thought a lot about... how through the centuries it was common that several generations of families lived together. I think it is wonderful (if they all get along!) to live very close, next door even - if boundaries can be maintained - but I can definitely see how being under the same roof would present some challenges. It is great for grandparents to have that much influence on their grandchildren, as Cindy did when she kept Michelle's children, and even now with Jenn's children - although she doesn't babysit on a daily basis, she still gets to see them enough to participate in their upbringing. That is SUCH a blessing all the way around!
And the same goes for Lulu with Jazzy. I always love when it's a "Jazzy weekend" because then I know Jazzy is being lovingly trained in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Same goes for Ruthanne with her grandsons, and Margie with her grandchildren too! I also enjoy when Cheryl talks about the close relationship she had with her grandmother.
But all that said, Lulu I don't think you're hard-hearted in any way for your views; just the opposite, you are wanting them to fulfill their dreams even though it takes them away from you. To me, that's selfless!
I really haven't heard from Timothy other than he texted his dad late last night to say "I've got a date tomorrow night!" I thought to myself 'Really? You're there 24 hours and you already have a date??' So I messaged him, asking him who the date is with and he did write me back, but conveniently didn't answer my question. He probably was put out with me for seeing the text, but John was already asleep and when I heard the phone ding I had to check to see who it was. (LOL, you're probably all thinking, "No wonder he's glad to get away from his mom!" )
Well Daniel and I were supposed to leave today for Virginia, to see my nephew graduate from high school tonight, but Daniel has been very sick. It started out as a sore throat Wednesday and wasn't too terrible but BAM during church that night, something hit him hard, and he spent the next 24 hours really suffering. He was looking up his symptoms online and was convinced it was strep throat and begged to go to the doctor (okay that's when you KNOW he's bad off!).
We went to the Minute Clinic at CVS first thing yesterday morning and he tested negative for strep and the flu (it seemed more like flu to me) so there was nothing they could do for him. I kept him on Oscillococcinum (a homeopathic flu remedy available at any pharmacy) and he is SO much better this morning. He's wanting to go on to my sister's anyway and I don't really think we'll try to go today, but if not we might still go up first thing tomorrow because they're having a party in the afternoon then dinner with all the family.
So that's what's happening here.

Thanks LuLu for sharing those Pics, only ...now, I want to go. Just to give you a quick story. My Cousin played Mickey Mouse at Disneyland back in the 90's. He was real good at it. Boy you really had me thinking this morning. Thank you again. Good Morning everyone!! Oh yes, I forgot to mention Lulu's great pictures! Thank you Lulu for posting them here. I saw them last night before going to sleep and then had a dream I was at your house and got to see Jazzy! What fun!
Mark, what an awesome job, being Mickey Mouse (or any character) at Disney. Only downside is it must get awfully hot in those costumes. But what a great experience for someone, to play a character in that way.

Leigh and Mark When we lived in Florida and went to Disney World in Orlando I saw an employee there dressed as Goofy pushing away a kid that was trying to hug him. I watched the Goofy guy and saw that he went for a break, I thought he must be hot in that outfit.

well, to be honest it's not all for selfless reasons, it's also for selfish reasons...I want time alone with Ron, to do what WE want to do, to go and come as we please when we please, to NO drama in our lives...to be able to have our friends over....and to come home to a house the way we left it...only picking up after ourselves....the list goes on and on....but still, thanks Lorrie... about Daniel getting sick, every try just honey? honey grown in YOUR state, local if at all possible...that's ALL I use for sore throat..you can use just a teaspoon or a hot tea, with honey, lemon and cinnamon...I also sometimes use warm whiskey and honey, same thing as nite quill, for when I can't sleep cause of a cold....I don't get sick often.... thanks for all the comments about the pictures, Mark, glad you had some good memory! Anna, I've been to Disney world once, YEARS ago...I do remember a character resting on our Netty's stroller once, I couldn't get him to get up and get off the stroller, I had to pull with all I had, and he fell over, I think he fell asleep...or passed out from the heat. that was here at Disney Land. this is another Jazzy weekend, in fact I've got to leave in 10 minutes or so to go pick her up. Matt's working the afternoon shift at Ralphs today. he'll be home around 9 tonite. So it'll be a Jazzy and Granny afternoon....

Anna, that's kind of sad that a Disney character would push away a child who was trying to hug him; to me that's just part of the job!
Lulu, I can appreciate what you said here:well, to be honest it's not all for selfless reasons, it's also for selfish reasons...I want time alone with Ron, to do what WE want to do, to go and come as we please when we please, to NO drama in our lives...to be able to have our friends over....and to come home to a house the way we left it...only picking up after ourselves....the list goes on and on....but still, thanks Lorrie... ... and I agree with that part also! It doesn't seem selfish to want time alone with your husband, and if grown children acted like adults, the rest of it shouldn't be a problem anyway!! (Having a young adult son myself, you can be sure I'm wanting the same things! I wonder, if my boys were in their 50s if even THEN that would be the case?!?) But anyway, I hope you enjoyed some special girl time with Jazzy. She is such a sweetheart! Well Daniel and I did end up racing to Virginia yesterday afternoon. What should've been a five hour drive took six hours, with traffic around Charlotte, NC, and a couple of quick stops, and we walked into my nephew's graduation ceremony just as it began and surprised the family. That was fun! He and I stayed in a hotel last night so he wouldn't spread any germs (although he's been fever-free for over 24 hours), and we're getting ready to go on back to my sister's house for the day and will probably stay with her tonight.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Good Morning all! Sorry I didn't get in here yesterday, but I got involved writing out what the Lord had shown me in Ezekiel and couldn't stop. Took me all morning and till 1pm: We are so much like Israel After that, I had to get running to finish everything up around here before Jenn got here. They're borrowing Bruce's tent so Elijah can go on his very first camp out with the cub scouts today. But first he's going to his best friends birthday party. It was a hard decision for him to make because it means he will miss working on all the badges at the camp. But his friend has MS and although Elijah doesn't think of him as disabled even though he has to use a wheel chair, his Mama and I know the truth. We're both so glad that he befriended Gus back in kindergarten and has stuck by him all these years. Elijah treats him just like anyone else and won't let others pick on him. But when this camping trip came up, it was for the same day as his birthday party. Elijah didn't even hesitate, he said he wanted to go to the party even if it meant he couldn't go to the camp out at all. Jenn and Bob were concerned that he would miss out on something that they couldn't afford for him to do later as other camp outs have to be paid for but this one was free. So they were considering having him go to the camp out instead. But I talked them into letting Elijah decide and reminded Jenn of how important his friendship with Gus was and how important giving his word was, since he'd already told Gus he'd come. I then suggested they call the scout leader and see if Elijah could join them after the party, and that way he could do both. So that's what they did, and the leader said that of course he could join them afterward! So Elijah's very excited about today.
Those are wonderful pictures Lulu! Looks like you all had a great time! Some friends of my family that I've known since I was a little girl, work there at Disney Land or rather they used to, and knew many of the people who played the characters there. Not a job I'd want simply because I'm sure those outfits must be really hot and uncomfortable. If it wasn't for that though, I'd love it LOL
We're going to be very busy for the next week or so. We have to do the shopping today because my granddaughter Jessica's graduation party is tomorrow, which of course we'll be going to. Then on Monday, my granddaughter Cassandra is giving her last concert at the high school, so we'll be going to that after supper. Then next Saturday Cassandra graduates from high school. That's at 10am and we have to be there by 9:15. Then on Thursday my grandson Joey is graduating from middle school (8th grade). I think that's in the evening and of course we'll be going to that as well. Then there's going to be a graduation party for both of them later. And those are just the things I already know about
I'm sorry to hear Daniel got so sick. Something like that's been going around here too lately. Gracie got it, and then Jenn did, but Jenn's turned into a nasty infection so she's on antibiotics now. I'm glad he felt well enough to go to the party with you though.
I've always been a homebody...and always loved children and always wanted lots and lots of kids LOL. In fact when I was a child, I used to dream of having 12 children and what I'd name them all So for me, the perfect ideal would be to have all my children, their spouses and their children living with us, just like it used to be in the olden days I'd be on But it would probably drive Bruce crazy. I've even day dreamed about being able to buy up a whole bunch of acres here in NH and build a nice home for us and one for each of my kids and their families on the property, and have a large part of the land be a working farm that we'd all work together. That way we'd all still have our privacy when we wanted it, and would still be together as a family. In my daydream of course, as the grandkids got older, they'd each get a house on the property too. So I'm hoping that Jesus has something like that set up for us in heaven.
Well, if I don't get busy, I won't have time to post anymore, and I want to get at least a few more posts in today! Isn't Daniel doing a tremendous job posting all the important prophetic stuff in the end times forum?
