Cindy, that is good to read that you were able to go to the concert and listen to Cassandra sing.
Leigh, maybe it would be good if Timothy had a bicycle to ride to work and back to the house he is staying at. A used bicycle shouldn't cost much for the convenience that it would render.
Well I don't have much to say today, talk to you tomorrow, Anna

Good Morning all! Lorrie, I loved hearing your conversation with Timothy! It was really cute! Reminds me of my boys! I prayed for his safety and will continue to as well.
Cassandra's going to Nazareth College in New York, so it's not local, but she'll be home for some weekends and holidays as it's not that far away either. Maddie's doing well adjusting. I think it will be even better though one the adoption is finally final. They have a court date for August so I'm praying it will go smoothly.
We've had one more thing added to our calendar for this week. Gracie is in a little play tomorrow night so of course we'll be going to that. She's going to be a flower
Sounds like you're doing well Ruthanne! Keep up the good work!
Why do my cats always wait till I start posting to start bugging me for their treats? Guess I'd better take care of it now so they'll let me be!
Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone! Glad you enjoyed the conversation with Tim. (What IS it about sons and always thinking they are right?! {Referring to what Ruthanne said.} Or maybe it's just teens/young adults in general.)
Anna, that is a good idea about a bike; he had mentioned that possibility before he left, so I'll have to ask if he's thought any more about it.
My sister's family will be here in several hours, but they'll probably just meet me at church in time for Wednesday night supper, then prayer meeting/kids activities. They'll come back here to spend the night and leave out early tomorrow morning, then I have to start getting ready for our small church group to come over Friday night. I'm just doing dessert and coffee this time, though, no big meal.
Ruthanne, glad Larry enjoyed supper (except the best part -- the mac & cheese!). Cindy, have fun at Gracie's play tonight. Are they still in school?!
Well my oven timer is going off; have some banana bread baking for tomorrow's breakfast, so better go check it.

Sure wish I lived closer! I love banana bread. Haven't made any in a long time. Huge crane was in back of our house this morning. It had a hose attachment so when the cement mixer arrived it was hooked up to the crane somehow. Then the crane operator moved the arm around over the foundation to pour the concrete. It was interesting to watch but I was glad when they finished and got that monster machine out of here. I've heard about too many cranes falling over, I guess. Hot again - summer is here.

Good Morning all! Lorrie, I think it applies to both the guys and the girls, at least most of the time!
Don't you just love it Ruthanne, when you cook something for your husband you know he loves, only to find out that after many years he's changed his mind and won't eat it now???
That's about what the temp is here now Kelly. Isn't it generally hotter where you are though?
They scare me too Margie, but it is interesting to watch one. Bruce and my sons have operated them many times and have tried to tell me what it's like, but it's hard to visualize until you've actually seen one working....
That is a great idea about a bicycle Anna! I hope he can get one.
Not up to too much today, at least not till after supper anyway when we go to the play. Just going to hang out here and post.

Seven, I don't think I know Christopher Lee (maybe have heard the name, but I'm not "up" on most celebs these days.) I'm sorry to hear of his passing anyway.
Hello everyone!
Well it was a busy time with 10 extra people in our house overnight, plus I had a migraine (lucky me ), so after they left around 9:45 this morning I went back to sleep until Daniel's guitar playing woke me up. We then drove through Chick Fil-A and I got a kids meal to eat along with taking some BC headache powder, and am feeling a lot better now.
My sister's family is headed to Disney World. (Did I already say that? I can't remember.) Someone at their church anonymously donated money specifically for two-day passes for all 10 of them, and my sis & BIL kept the destination a surprise from the children until right before they left their house. (The kids thought they were going to the beach.) I think it's their first time there, so this will be a big deal for them.
Soon after they return my oldest niece will go to Boston for six weeks on a mission trip, then my oldest nephew will start college in Kentucky, so things will never be quite the same again. That's why it was so important to me to get to go to their house last week for my nephew's graduation and have all the family together again (except for John and Timothy).
ETA: I just looked up Christopher Lee and see that he was 93... not a young star, but somebody I probably should've known.

Christopher Lee; if you have seen the "Star Wars" movies or "Lord of the Rings" movies you have seen him. 93 is very good for any one, but for screen stars? Very rare indeed. He must not have participated in their usual unhealthy behaviors.

Christopher Lee was famous for portraying Dracula and other horror movies. He came to America to get away from London and the type-cast. He still did horror and sy-fy, but he did do some other films, including a few Sherlock Holmes.

..... and not a moment too soon. About Christopher Lee, hearing the types of movies he was in explains why I didn't know him. Now, if he'd starred in Anne of Green Gables, or Sense and Sensibility, or Pollyanna, or anything like that (the voice of Bambi, perhaps)..... I'd know exactly who he is. Cheryl, how was your birthday, birthday girl?!?

Hello everyone. Thanks for your prayers.
I have bookeed a flat to move to in a month time. Snmaller than I have at present' Just a loo with a walk in shower, small kitchen. small bdroom and slighly larger other room. It s on the ground floor so I can have my scooter within 25yds reach. athats as far as I can walk ever with a frame. I shall be in about a mile of middle daughter and toungets one. Both say they will drop in daily.
Also it ii upstairs above a church which srve meals mid day, that will take a small load off my shoulers.
Apart from my painful mobility, the thing which is my biggest prolem is that I feel Eileen is in this flat with me. Not an unusual thing I am told but feels strange and woriees me.

Sorry to hear that Kelly. I'm afraid I'm not up on actors or actresses though. I hope he was saved though and we can meet him in heaven.

Lorrie, I can't imagine having that many people in my house and having a migraine! Now I know you're a saint! Jenn had a migraine on Wednesday, but at least she had most of the day with no children since they were at school. I felt so bad for her. Migraines are such terrible things. I'm glad you're feeling better hon. The kids must be so very excited to be going to Disney World! Such great memories they'll have for sure! What a wonderful blessing the Lord gave them all! Christopher Lee; if you have seen the "Star Wars" movies or "Lord of the Rings" movies you have seen him. 93 is very good for any one, but for screen stars? Very rare indeed. He must not have participated in their usual unhealthy behaviors. Yes, 93 is nice age for everyone. I think I saw some of those movies a long time ago. I read the Lord of the Rings books though I agree though that to live to that age he must have abstained from the normal kinds of behavior there. Maybe that means he was saved....I'd sure like to think so! Actually I haven't seen any Star Wars movies or LOTR. But you're right, 93 is very good (for anyone, actually!). Christopher Lee was famous for portraying Dracula and other horror movies. He came to America to get away from London and the type-cast. He still did horror and sy-fy, but he did do some other films, including a few Sherlock Holmes. yuk! I hate horror movies and never watch them nor did I ever allow my children to so we wouldn't have seen any of that kind. I was going to say that doing that type of movie doesn't bode will for him being saved, but then if he came here to try and get away from that type, that again sounds like maybe he was....
Happy Friday Lulu! Don't work to hard! Is this going to be a Jazzy weekend? I can't keep them straight, but then I have trouble even remembering what day of the week it is ..... and not a moment too soon. I'll maybe have to learn how to use it, though I am not that interested in using it. I tried to figure out what you'd done wrong, but I'm afraid I couldn't get anywhere. Let me see if I saved the how to page about photobucket, because if I did, that may help you. No, I didn't save it, so what I'll do is try and make a post in the "check it out" thread that explains how to use it and how to put the pictures or graphics on this board. We'd love to see your pictures, and it's not that hard!
Wow, putting a plane together, that's amazing! Apart from my painful mobility, the thing which is my biggest prolem is that I feel Eileen is in this flat with me. Not an unusual thing I am told but feels strange and woriees me. Your new flat sounds like it will be really good for you. I imagine that feeling Elaine is there with you would seem strange, but I too have heard that it's pretty normal. In a way, she will always be with you though, because our Lord has made the two of you "one flesh", plus of course I'm sure she's in your heart and thoughts as well. My understanding is that the feeling stems from the person being in your thoughts and your heart so deeply, so you could see it as a good thing. I'm so glad your children are staying close and stopping in to visit with you every day. It's wonderful that you have such loving children. I'll continue to pray for you John and will pray that the Lord will relieve you from that feeling too.
Well we got to see Gracie in her little play last night. She was so cute and had her lines down perfect, as did most of the other children too. The play is called "Goldilocks word purple socks" and is just adorable. All the children recite almost the entire story together, with individuals having a line or two to recite solo during it as well. Elijah liked watching it too he said, because it's the same play he did when he was that age. He said now he knew what it really looked like.
Cassandra graduates from high school tomorrow morning. We were going to go as they were hoping to have it outside, but since we're supposed to have more thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow morning, they had to move it indoors. Sadly that means only her family can attend as each graduate only gets 5 tickets due to limited seating, and that's how many people are in Cassandra's family. That's how it was when Michelle and my other kids graduated too, so I understand.
Well, the cats are here as usual begging for their treats lol, so let me get them taken care of and all be back.

Good morning ladies, it is good to hear from John and how well he is doing. I hope you all have a blessed weekend. It was good to read Cindy that you enjoyed the play that Gracie was in and that all the children did good at speaking out their lines to say in the play.

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday, so we met her at a restaurant for her birthday dinner (Mexican food). We had a good time, but we were missing the youngest boy who was at church camp. I gave her a "Sorry, We're Closed" sign for her kitchen when she doesn't want to cook, a bag of shelled pistachio nuts (her favorite), and a calendar with dog sayings on it.
Made BBQ ribs early this morning for tonight's dinner. We're also having corn on the cob and a salad. It's already hot here.
Hugs to everyone!

Happy birthday to Diane! I only met her briefly (when Margie {Dogstaff} was coming through town last year and her daughter dropped her off to meet me for supper), but she was very sweet, just like her mom. Those were some fun gifts you got her!
Anna, how long have you lived in Arizona? I know you lived in Florida (wasn't it the Jacksonville area)... where else?
Some of you have really "gotten around!"
Jtheb, glad to hear you are going to be living near your daughters. Thanks for the update.

Hi everyone. I posted this on my birthday thread, that I just found.....thank you Margie for thinking of me.
But, I thought I'd copy and paste it here too.
Today I'm making shiskabob. (sp) I found a few small cuts of beef on sale and am making the best of it. It's the "cook it or lose it" type sale. So, anyway, Ed went to the store and got us some more mushrooms, grape tomatoes and green pepper. I got that all prepared, put the meat in a ziplock bag to marinate, and was fixing to make another cucumber salad. Got into the dishwasher to get my FAVORITE Pyrex bowl, and as I grabbed it, my stupid hand opened up.......dropped the bowl back into the dishwasher and it exploded all over my kitchen!!! And I mean everywhere!!! I was, once again, barefooted and couldn't move, or I'd have glass all in my feet. I picked up what I could reach, but REALLY needed the broom! When this happened years ago, I had "let go" of a stack of nice Pyrex bowls, but my pantry was right next to me and I was able to "sweep" my way out of the mess, to get some shoes on. But, this time, I couldn't and I hollered for Ed, who was out on the front porch, but he couldn't hear me. I reached a heavy plastic drinking glass and threw it across the house, into the front door, hoping he would hear that. He did. LOL and came and helped me get out of my predicament. What a mess. And I don't have my favorite bowl that my Mom gave me. It's a set of 3 with lids, and it was the medium sized one that's perfect for everything. Oh well, such is life.

Leigh, I have lived in Arizona now for 12 years. Ron and I both grew up in the state of Nebraska, we were friends in high school. Ron moved to North Carolina and I married him and moved there also, we were there for one year, then we lived in the state of Virginia for one year, then we lived in Jacksonville FL. There he told me we were going to live on a boat, because he liked boats, I said no way, nobody lives on a boat, but we did for 10 years and we both enjoyed it. We didn't like living in Jacksonville so we motored the boat to St. Augustine, and we like living there, then we motored the boat down past Miami to Key Largo and live there and we liked living there, but Ron was ill and we then moved back to Nebraska. I wanted and needed to spend time with my dad and so I did, for years I went to work with my father to help him do his work, just so I could be with him and talk to him and I am so glad that I did that, it strengthened both me and my dad and I have positive memories. A few years after my dad had died peacefully in his sleep I left Nebraska and moved to Arizona where my dad left me this property to live on, and I am happy living here.
