The weather here will soon be back to normal but it was on the Samsung J5 case news last night that it was colder in Phoenix AZ than in New York city.

Welcome to our little get away, it's nice to meet you! and I get to see my Jazzy! can't wait! that's even more exciting then seeing the launch Sunday! AND I get to see it with her!!!! Hi Marlon I have an on-line friend that is driving her RV to Quartzsite today. Thank you Marlene, I appreciate it and it looks like the Lord heard you too! Ron is fine and home from the hospital now. Looks like it was just a false alarm! Praise God!
I'm moving slow today. I think I've figured it out though. You see, you guys are always going so fast and you're so busy all the time, that means I have to be really slow just to balance things out. Right? Well, it sounded good anyway! Right now I really need another cup of coffee, so I'm off to get that and then post some more.

No one has mentioned it yet today so I will, pastor Saeed Abedini has been released from the Iranian prison. He was traded for prisoner swap deal. What good news! So many people have been praying for this for a few years now. He will be going to a hospital first before returning to the US.

well we had a good weekend, but kinda disappointing, it was so over cast we didn't get to see the launch..we heard it and felt it, but the marine layer was so thick we didn't get to see it....the landing of the first stage rocket hit it's mark, but came in kinda hard...the landing was on a barge out in the ocean, so we didn't get to see that either, they lost the camera feed for that, but it did hit it's mark, only one of the landing legs did not lock into place, so it fell over and blew up....so no history making event today....our Netty and Justin did make Matt's birthday a nice one, a great dinner and family time.... I did see were the swap was made for our guys over in Iran...only one guy was left there, a journalist I believe...and the swap was very one sided...they got 6 guys for our 4 and the 6 we gave them were REAL criminals, and the 4 they had were hostages, not criminals....but I am wicked happy they got released..just wish it was for a different reason... nope, not a journalist, he's an FBI guy... and they left him there....

well gang.. I got laid off!! where is my emojie for a happy dance?
I know that sounds weird, but I knew it was coming and I didn't want to quit.. after we had "the talk" in HR about how they were downsizing and getting rid of my positions, My boss looks at me and says, "Kelley, thank you for handling this with grace and poise."
You guys.. I believe this is a good thing and all God. Now I get my severance, they pay me until May 17 instead of one lump sum and I can get unemployment and figure out the next plan.
No more 1am alarm, no more 90 min RT commute, no more, no more 6days, I'm tired.

Good Morning all! We had a wonderful weekend! I was so excited yesterday when I found out my other granddaughter, Alissa, would be coming over with Jenn, Bob and Elijah and Grace! We hardly ever get to see our other grandchildren, and miss them a lot. Alissa is 11 years old, (one year older then Elijah). Jenn had tried any number of times to bring her with them, but Michelle always seemed to find some reason Alissa couldn't come. Yesterday though, Alissa took care of it herself! She ran up to Jenn and said that she'd already asked her Mom and that she was coming with them! As you can imagine, we all had a wonderful time together. Especially the kids since Bruce gave them each a ride on his snowmobile. They loved that They'd never been on one before. I thought Gracie would be scared, but she seemed to love it the most of all. She was screaming with glee so loud, I'm sure the neighbors even blocks away could hear her! The look on each of their faces when they were riding was priceless. It reminded me of what you see when you see kids enjoying a roller coaster Jenn brought supper with her too, so all we had to do was warm it up. She brought ham, mashed potatoes and rolls, and I supplied the veggies. So we had a good supper too. It was so great to get to watch the kids playing together. I'm so very thankful the Lord arranged things so we could see our Alissa again! No one has mentioned it yet today so I will, pastor Saeed Abedini has been released from the Iranian prison. He was traded for prisoner swap deal. What good news! So many people have been praying for this for a few years now. He will be going to a hospital first before returning to the US. Yes, I saw that too. I'm so glad he's been released! well we had a good weekend, but kinda disappointing, it was so over cast we didn't get to see the launch..we heard it and felt it, but the marine layer was so thick we didn't get to see it....the landing of the first stage rocket hit it's mark, but came in kinda hard...the landing was on a barge out in the ocean, so we didn't get to see that either, they lost the camera feed for that, but it did hit it's mark, only one of the landing legs did not lock into place, so it fell over and blew up....so no history making event today....our Netty and Justin did make Matt's birthday a nice one, a great dinner and family time.... I'm glad they got released but not at all happy for how they got released. What happened to our policy, that we've had as long as we've been a country, that we do not barter with terrorists??? This is the second time now that they've gotten away with it, so we can be sure that more people will be snatched, and more ransoms demanded - ransoms that will always be more and more unfair and cause more and more damage to our country. Now that they know they can ransom people, they have even less reason to fear the US. Makes me so angry, but I have to keep giving it to the Lord, and waiting for the day when He will rule this planet with a rod of iron!well gang.. I got laid off!! where is my emojie for a happy dance? I know that sounds weird, but I knew it was coming and I didn't want to quit.. after we had "the talk" in HR about how they were downsizing and getting rid of my positions, My boss looks at me and says, "Kelley, thank you for handling this with grace and poise." No more 1am alarm, no more 90 min RT commute, no more, no more 6days, I'm tired. Wow! I sure didn't see this coming Kel! But like you said, there's a lot of good in it for sure. Now you can spend more time with us too! at least that's what I am trying to convince myself of..lol.... Kelley, glad your ok with the layoff also...they've been laying off like crazy at my job...around 30 before Christmas, and another 6 last Friday...they say they are done, but I'm not sure.... Yeah all these lay offs, just after the president assured us of how great the economy is doing. We saw on the news shortly after that too, that Walmart and Sam's Club (which walmart owns) are closing a bunch of stores, as are LL Bean and another company who's name I can't remember. But the economy is doing great guys, we know that because our president keeps saying so. And of course of all the folks that have got jobs again, many, if not most, aren't making anything near what they were making before all this started. Many that were doing fairly well, making their bills, having insurance, and living without a lot of stress, have lost their homes, are buried in past due bills, and while they have insurance again, now it's useless due to both the high cost of it and the huge deductibles. But the economy is doing great.... Oh, that's right, I get it.... all the rich people are doing just fine, and since Obama is rich and all the people he hangs with are rich, that must be where he gets his information from. You know, "We're OK, so the rest of the world doesn't matter." OH well, again, I have to give it to the Lord and tell Him I can't wait till He's physically ruling this planet!
Sorry, couldn't help but let that out.
I hope you all have a good day today. Are you working today Lulu? Bruce has it off since it's a holiday....
We have to do our shopping today since we didn't go over the weekend, so I'd better get myself ready. But first I want to post a little more.

Hi everyone.
We've been gone for a few days to Myrtle Beach with seven other couples from our church. It was a very nice weekend. Got home yesterday afternoon and then went to a ladies event at church last night. One of our ladies who was widowed a couple of years ago (she's in her 40s but her husband was older) did a presentation called "What Women Need to Know" about things to consider beforehand & have in order so we will have an easier time should our husbands "go" before we do. Not something anybody wants to think about, but very practical and good information to have. We need to do an updated will now that the boys are older.

Good morning everyone. So who all is in the path of this big winter storm that's coming in? Cindy, Catt, Marianne? We even have a prediction of "snow showers" this Saturday, but don't expect it to amount to anything here. Lulu, so sorry to hear that you didn't have the visibility to watch the launch over the weekend... I know that was disappointing, but am still thankful for your Jazzy time, and happy to hear that you all had a nice celebration for Matt's birthday. (((Kel))) - will pray that God directs your path and shows you the next step. Your attitude is amazing! Anna, Cindy, Margie, and anyone else - hope you are all well this week. What do you have going on? Today is Precept class day (this morning)... Cindy, you mentioned (last week, I think) that you thought the classes had ended (we're studying Hebrews) and you are correct - we did book one in the fall then took a few weeks off for the holidays, but then began book two in January. Hebrews is broken into three study books. I think this is the first week I haven't completed all my homework. But, we go even if it's not finished. Cindy you posted a study earlier this week from Hebrews on maturity, and it was EXACTLY what we'd studied last week. It was awesome and SO helpful to further my understanding! Don't think I had a chance to comment on it, but did want to mention that. Thank you. This afternoon is the monthly "Kids Cafe" music class, & I have to finish prepping for that; today we're doing something different - playing "Treble Clef Twister" (using a treble clef staff instead of the traditional Twister mat) so that should be fun.

Lorrie, I remember doing the precept study's years ago...they were a fun way to learn what was being said and what it all meant...even though I didn't understand it all, it was still a cool way to lean the bible...

Good day, yes what a winter storm some areas will be getting today. We are having our nicest winter weather right now here where I live, but I see on the news snow storms and dark skies for the northeast. Enjoy your day at Kid's class Leigh, that sounds like fun for the adults also and Cindy more snow for more snowmobile rides, Lulu you must also have nice weather this week, Margie sounds like you had an enjoyable birthday, hi Marlon, I knew a young woman once by the name of Marlon, she lived in MN. I have been enjoying going for walks with my dogs and training them. I buy most of my clothes for the year in the month of January, I got some real good deals on denim dresses, so I bought four of them. Ron has been feeling dizzy for the last week. Well I am going to read some of the article that Daniel posted.

Not something anybody wants to think about, but very practical and good information to have. We need to do an updated will now that the boys are older. Yeah, those things can be hard to talk about. Bruce hates talking about it lol, so what I did was got a little notebook and wrote down everything I could think of that he really needed to know should something happen to me, whether it was death, or I was just in a coma or whatever. Things like how to know which bills have been paid, what bills needed to be paid still etc, where his meds were and when to get them refilled, (cause I do all those things, including putting his meds into a daily med planner for him) as well as things like what my desires were for burial. I liked doing it too because I was also able to try and give him spiritual and emotional encouragement to hopefully help him heal if I die first. Hooray for Wednesday!! It is COLD here (31 at the moment)! Boy the older I get, the more I hate the cold!!! It got below 0 here for the first time this winter. It wasn't too bad though as it only got to like 20 below this time. And then only for a couple of days.Good morning everyone. So who all is in the path of this big winter storm that's coming in? I knew I'd posted it on our old board, but guess it never got transferred over so decided to re-do it. I'm glad I did now! I remember posting one months ago about the hall of faith, one of my favorites. I'll have to go see where I stuck that one LOLLorrie, I remember doing the precept study's years ago...they were a fun way to learn what was being said and what it all meant...even though I didn't understand it all, it was still a cool way to lean the bible... I'm going to take some time off to pray even more over the next few days. I'll still pop in and say Hi, but I want to spend a lot more time in prayer for the next few days so won't have much time to post a lot here. I'm not sure "why" I feel the need to do this, I just do.

No snow here but it's cold and rainy. My daughter and her family were in New York City for a week's vacation but they got home last night. I was really, really hoping they could leave before a major storm hit. They said it was really cold.
Went to a retirement home today with members of my Sunday School class so we could eat lunch with class members who live there. They aren't able to attend class anymore but we like to visit with each other.
Got grocery shopping and errands done before it started raining. Doing laundry tomorrow.
Hugs. Hugs to you, Kel. Praying you will have wisdom for future decisions.

I know your visit made their day!I knew you'd be getting rain Anna! our weather has been pretty nice this week, but we did get rain on Tuesday, rained all nite...it's been up in the 70's most the week.... Yikes, that sounds very stressful for Ron. I'm sorry to hear that. For some reason I was under the impression that he was enjoying this job....guess my memory played another trick on me. That's so frustrating! I'll certainly pray for his situation to improve, that's such a shame. My son in law is in stressful situation with work too. He was hired through a temp agency and because of that hasn't been paid as much as their full time employees and doesn't get the benefits they do either, even though he's been working there full time for over a year. They've been stringing him a long for ever it seems telling him that they're going to hire him on permanently within a short time, but the time never comes, or at least hasn't yet. Now they're saying it will happen within the next two months. I keep hoping he'll find a better job that's a lot closer to home so he can get away from there. But he's very shy and not good at interviews so looking for jobs is just as stressful if not more so for him.
I hope you get over the cold quickly Lulu. I hate being sick and I'm sure you don't like it either.
Hope everyone has a great day today! And an even better weekend to come!

I kinda miss it.... it's been a nice day here...it was suppose to rain, it was overcast most the day, but never did rain. it's been a nice day just hanging out and doing errands with the ol'man and Boy, doing laundry...now kicking back watching an old movie...

Lulu, LOVE the graphic!! Sounds like you had a nice day with Ron. What was the old movie you watched? James, wow, I don't really envy you right now! Thanks for the link on your weather conditions. (I just sent a FB message to a friend in PA, "Got snow?" ) I guess you still have electricity? We live just below the line where it all stopped, so we have nothing here but cold, COLD weather -- way too much for a Southern girl. Cindy, same snowy conditions at your house, I'm sure. At least Bruce has a snow mobile so guess he's able to get out, but I hope you're staying in and turning up the heat! Margie, sounds like your daughter's family got home from NYC just in the nick of time! Glad to hear you don't have snow/ice where you live. Keep warm! Anna, hope your Ron is feeling better with his dizziness - that is no fun. Did you buy your denim dresses online? If so, do you have a good source for clothes, or do you get them from various places? Where you live, there might not be too many places to shop! I saw a recipe online the other day that looked good, so am trying it out today for Sunday lunch, for chicken gumbo. It's one of those that I thought would only take 15 minutes to mix up and it ended up taking an hour -- starting at 10:30 last night! But it's will be hot and ready in the crockpot when we get home from church today, so that will be nice. Oh my, look at the time -- better start getting ready for church!
