our day was full of thankfulness....Jess's grandma is wanting to die, she's getting her house in order...it's sad for Jess and Eva's Son...Doug....Ron and I pretty much kept out of it and just listened to their frustration and sadness, but still understanding where she's coming from, she's 91, lonely, misses her husband, and just tired...she's healthy though, and still has a lot to offer, but she doesn't think so...Ron searched for a way to talk to her, but she was to focused on getting things in order, Ron never had a chance to sit and talk to just her.....She's a lovely lady, but not sure about her faith, she' knows Christ, but in a spiritual way....not a FAITH way, if that makes any sense...

When I lived in an apartment I had some elderly neighbors, maybe elderly people have something special to offer because I remember them better than I remember the younger or middle age adults. My closest neighbor an older Christian woman named Cora always dressed nice, went to church and had a nice-decorated clean apartment. She had a son and daughter in law that visited her once a week and treated her with love. She did say to me one day that she thought people could live too long of a time on this earth and when she did go to the nursing home right behind the apartments she was only there a few days before she died. She did have a positive influence on me even more now in my memories of her then when I was living next to her.

I'm taking pictures out of frames and putting them into photo albums. This apartment is small and we don't have as much room to hang pictures. I wonder why we collected so much stuff. Neither of our kids want the albums, family stuff, etc. Not sure what will happen to it when we pass on.
Lulu, thank you for the Thanksgiving card. It's really pretty.
When will football games ever be over with??

I recently watched a video where a woman that owned a consignment shop said that she would not take some nice china to sell nor nick nacks, that the adult children don't want from their parents, she said that was common nowadays that the children don't want their parents stuff, partly because they move more often and don't have much space to keep the stuff.

Cindy - I think FB has a bright future. People will come to be disgusted with FB as it slides further and further down hill, and will be longing for a safe, Godly space.
By the way, and related - a friend of mine who spent time as a Missionary in Turkey, is having a *lot* of trouble with his teenage lads and the satanic evil that comes out of social media.
Yes, some good stuff can come from social media, but in essence its a liberal platform run by liberals, mostly used by......you guessed it....liberals!
God knows all the details - please could you pray for his family and kids to neutralize Satans attack through liberal social media please.

I like the picture of everyone holding hands. Nice!
Went to Hobby Lobby this morning to get a different type of picture album to hold hubby's oversized pics. They just wouldn't fit in the regular size notebooks I've been using.
I've offered our family pics to my son and daughter and neither one really wants them. Not sure what will happen to our stuff when we both die, but at least the photo notebooks will be easy to store if anyone does want them.
Received word yesterday that a friend from Sunday School at my previous church died after having multiple strokes. She was 94; had lived a long, good life.

It breaks my heart that kids are (in a way), already, partially 'merged' with electronics, and I am afraid it will only increase.
Yes, and the makeup and sexy clothes for kids younger and younger... maybe, if anything is worse, is the un-binary, gender neutral, clothing.
For example, many, many celebrities are posting image of their sons 'rocking' dresses (we could say cross dressing in going main stream), and Céline Dion new clothing line for babies ( the ad is super creepy)
so.... no pink for girls babies, or blue for boys, but a 'nice' ( NOT) ...very demonically scary black and white cap of skulls and skull images on the new born's sleeper ( whatever sex they may or may not 'choose' to be when they grow up...the idea is God made a mistake and humans are the ultimate captains of their life)
in her ad she states babies are not our own ( to prove it, you might rather buy outfits saying, New (World) Order).
So either way, its more than sad....
And yet, we do have a lot to be THANKFUL to the Lord about:. it is getting closer and closer to His return.... or as chat # 12 says: keep looking up, He is coming soon!
Also all this continues to prove God's word, more, and more, and more!!! Wow! Thankfully I haven't seen or heard of any of that, but it doesn't surprise me. I agree, Lord Jesus come now!!!! Happy happy thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽!We are headed out for AZ for thanksgiving with Jess’s grandma. She’s 91 and believes this will be her last,I pray her family comes by also, Brother and some other grand kids.....so far it’s just Jess that’s being a part of her life....
Mace is staying with our Netty, he’s gonna be sad....but it’s only for one day.....
have a great day everyone! Full of love and laughter!
That's so sweet of you! I hope you had a wonderful day! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Lulu, be safe traveling. And if anyone else is traveling, please also stay safe!
Congrats on the new thread, Lulu!
I got all caught up on everyone's posts, but too far behind to respond to everyone, but know that I am praying for everyone. Even for those who don't post that they need prayers.
I hope everyone's Thanksgiving is full of laughter, fun and family today! And full of thanks to our Lord, for every day.
I tried to do Thanksgiving, alone last year, but it wasn't fun, and I felt like I was forcing it because it's a holiday. So this year I decided to just know that I'm thankful EVERY day, and today is just one of those days. So, instead of broasting a chicken and fixin's (a turkey is just too big for just me. And no I don't freeze turkey.) I decided to have pancakes for a late breakfast, and am going to get caught up on my favorite shows, and probably fall asleep in my chair. Yep..........lol............just another day!
I was traveling several days ago, and was passing through a construction zone. The pavement was odd, and the tires made a distinct sound. At first I actually did think that I was hearing the shofar! Has anyone had that experience? I felt a flutter in my stomach and was feeling SO calm in anticipation. Wow, what an awesome feeling! I was also looking for a direction to safely point the car, because I was about to vacate it!
That sounds like a great way to spend the day. I had to laugh at your rapture experience, as it reminded me of my own! So yes, I know the feeling and can't wait till it's real! We were at our son's house today. He's only 7 miles away from us now instead of 40. His wife's family was there too and we hadn't seen them for a while so it was fun. I brought deviled eggs.
Today was sunny and mild here in Texas. Hubby is watching the Dallas Cowboys on TV. Happy Thanksgiving Hugs to all.
I'm glad you had a good thanksgiving!Good food, family and friends sums up our Thanksgiving. I hope that everybody has a nice weekend. Cindy, tell Bruce that he is in our prayers and I hope he feels better soon. Take care and God Bless. Glad you had a good day Mark! I sure will tell him, thank you!

That's so sad..... So many people so often think they know better then God, especially when they're older and want out of this world.....and don't realize that He still has things for them to do - some of those plans He has for them since before He created the world. When I lived in an apartment I had some elderly neighbors, maybe elderly people have something special to offer because I remember them better than I remember the younger or middle age adults. My closest neighbor an older Christian woman named Cora always dressed nice, went to church and had a nice-decorated clean apartment. I've been doing the same thing Margie, partly due to lack of room, and partly due to the pictures being really old now lolI recently watched a video where a woman that owned a consignment shop said that she would not take some nice china to sell nor nick nacks, that the adult children don't want from their parents, she said that was common nowadays that the children don't want their parents stuff, partly because they move more often and don't have much space to keep the stuff. I'd never heard of that. It's a shame when kids don't care enough about their parents to cherish the things they did.Cindy - I think FB has a bright future. God knows all the details - please could you pray for his family and kids to neutralize Satans attack through liberal social media please. I have to disagree....I think people will continue to love it because they're not saved and don't know any better, and enjoy their sins and being able to flaunt them.... Saying a prayer for them now.... Thanksgiving in AZ, was nice but on the sad side...
Another thanksgiving in Lake Elsinore California on Saturday! Wicked fun.....

That would make me so sad. We've decided to just give everything to our youngest daughter, Jennifer and the others can ask her for what they want - if they want anything, which I doubt they will.
Sorry I've been gone for so long. Our internet has been giving us fits. Hopefully it's better now, but if I disappear again, that will be why..... and of course they have no idea how to fix it....

That's got to be really hard, especially when you can't afford to miss work like that. We were blessed when Jennifer got called for jury duty earlier in the year (which shocked us all!) because she was able to get out of it due to her disability. She actually wanted to do it though, but there was just no way she could have then. It sure does make me wonder what the Lord's purposes are though.... and what part we play in them.... I hope you're able to get out of it Lulu, so you won't miss any more work. Hey, maybe if you tell people about selling your house while you're there, maybe you'll find someone who's interested in buying it!

and I did have strong beliefs...so they did NOT pick me.
I was not trying to get out of it either, but I had to tell the truth, and they did not like it. sooooooo

I was called once to go to the courthouse and like your situation, Barbra they asked the question if I would have a problem judging a person, I never said anything but got to thinking to myself that I should have said something because I don't want to judge another person, with pressure from lawyers what if I would be judging wrong. I leave that to people who are glad to be there for jury duty. There were 70 of us people sitting in small chairs the size that children would sit in and shoulder to shoulder close to each other. I thanked the Lord they got the people they needed before they called my name, I was one of a few people left sitting in one of those seats. I was called again about 2 years ago but the case was settled out of court so no one had to show up. I expect to be called again soon.

not only did i get called in for jury duty, I think I broke my ring finger on my left hand! having a heck of a time typing I tell ya! I messed it up with the Mace's leash, I had it wrapped around my hand to far up on my fingers, and he pulled toward another dog, hard, and wrenched it sideways...it's pretty colors!
well I return tomorrow at 10:45am, Ron and I are going in early though and just hang out...I don't think I'll be picked, they will probably ask how I feel about the death penalty, and they will not like my answer.,..but I'll be honest with my answers....

After being called the second time for possible jury duty I told Ron one day that I was going to take the car and just do a drive to that city so I would know how to get there without Ron having to drive me there, so I did that, I had to go up a mountain, it seemed like it was getting harder to breathe and my car started to run a little rough, then I drove through a mountain tunnel, then the exit to the city was right outside the tunnel, I almost missed the turn, a narrow exit with tumbleweed blocking the view of part of the road, then I drove down a residential street and found out it took me right to where I had to go. Driving down that street the houses had an open culvert in the front yard, I guess runoff water from the mountain must have flowed through there, so I made it there and turned off the car, then turned the key back on and the car would not start. I called Ron and he said to take the key out of the ignition and put it back in again to start the car, so I did that and the car started. I am not good at doing those on my own adventures.

I'm glad it's getting better. There's not much point in going to the doctor for something like that when you can take care of it yourself. It's just an extra bill and who needs that?

Hey everyone!
Lulu, I hope you don't get chosen for jury duty. Not that you wouldn't make a great jury captain, but that it's not fair to force someone to do something, at the expense of their own livelihood. I was always able to get out of it for financial reasons.
In Indiana, I got letters 3 times. The first time was scary, but I was sent a exempt letter, after I proved I could not take any time from my job. The second time, they had changed the rules slightly. I could still apply for an exemption, but would be on the list for 3 months and could still be called. I didn't get a call. The 3rd time was the same week I moved to Kentucky, so that one was really easy. I sent them a letter with my forwarding address. I never heard from them again.
I don't think I'd have a problem, if I got called now, though. With the job I have, I would still be paid, because I have enough comp time built up to claim, if I need to. Jury duty would be interesting if one doesn't have life pressures outside the courtroom. When Ed was alive, there was no way I would do jury duty. He needed me at home, and there was no way around that. As it was, he suffered for the days that I was in the hospital. I'm just grateful that I had great neighbors. They kept an eye on him for me, and helped him a LOT.
I hope everyone is keeping comfortable in this crazy, ever changing weather pattern we are having. I pray that if you are in a hot climate that you are keeping cool and if you are in a cold climate that you are staying safe and warm. I was shocked today, when I went to the weather channel and saw that there was a 7.0 magnitude earth quake in Alaska!! Thankfully the threat of a Tsunami has been canceled. But, they do have major infrastructure damage in Anchorage.
But, the beautiful thing is that there has been NO loss of life!!
Margie and Lulu, thank you both for the beautiful Thanksgiving cards you sent. Such a nice surprise, and you both put a smile on my face. Not too many of those happening, these days, so know that you did more for me than you realize. Margie, I've been reading about your progress on how well you are arranging things after your move. We both moved around the same exact time, and I am still fixing my place up. lol! But, I take full advantage of the fact that I was down for the count for a couple of weeks with a hideous cold. But, my place is now shaping up, and I'm starting feel a little better about it.
Steve, it's really great to see you here, and Mark too. We aren't usually blessed with your presence in chat, so it's a nice treat. Don't be a stranger, either of you. Listen to me..........I hardly post anymore.
It's been great reading how everyone spent their Thanksgiving and looking forward to the Christmas stories too.
Cindy, I pray for you and Bruce. I hope that he is doing better. I've read recently about similar accidents and those sadly were not good outcomes. It keeps bringing me back to knowing how grateful I am to know the Lord was right there with Bruce, and is answering our prayers with His blessings over Bruce. And it reminds me, daily, how fragile life really is.
Well, I've decorated your page enough for one day, lol. I'll try to be back more often. I do come to read, but I know it's not fair if I don't join in.
Anna, Leigh, Lee, and Barbara! I didn't forget you! And I hope I didn't forget anyone else! I just wanted to make sure I said hello! HELLO!

what a crazy weekend...fun, but sad...went and did breakfast sat morning at church with Ron....then we were off to Murettia Cal to my cousins husband's funeral, about an hours drive...Judi and I are the only ones left here in California of our parents family, we did have three of us, but our cousin Robin moved back east to be near her kids who are both attending collage there. man this getting old really sucks! So we spent 5 or more hours out there with my family. it's hard seeing someone you love hurt so badly. Judi is lost with out her Ray....but he knew Christ, Ray had strong faith, as does my cousin Judi.... then Sunday with the girls at church, then after church party with the lady's...we always have fun! so it was a fun day after a sad day..... now it's back to reality...ugh....but am glad I have a job for sure!

HELLO!
Thanks Cheryl, It's good to hear from you, I was getting worried. I'm glad you're finally over that cold too. Bruce sees the orthopedic doctor tomorrow, so we'll see what he has to say. But for the moment anyway, his back does seem to be doing well...it's still swollen but not as much as it was before, which makes us both happy. Hopefully it will continue in that direction and the swelling and pain will finally go away completely. His neck seems to be doing better as well.
Are you going to be able to have a little garden spot outside at your new apartment? Are you on the first floor?
what a crazy weekend...fun, but sad...went and did breakfast sat morning at church with Ron....then we were off to Murettia Cal to my cousins husband's funeral, about an hours drive...Judi and I are the only ones left here in California of our parents family, we did have three of us, but our cousin Robin moved back east to be near her kids who are both attending collage there. man this getting old really sucks!
Sorry to hear about your loss Lulu, but I'm glad your weekend ended on a positive note at least. That helps I'm sure. It's so much easier hearing about a death when we're told the person was close to Jesus. When we don't know it's harder because you don't know if you'll see them again, and tend to assume the worst. I hope work goes well for you today.
We had a good weekend. Saturday was Elijah's 13th birthday party. We were both wiped out after that so spend Sunday just resting. Never even got dressed lol. It takes a lot out of me to go to Jenn's house because she's on the second floor and that's a lot of stairs to climb for me, and it's hard for Bruce now too. I slept like a rock last night though so I'm ready for whatever's coming next lol.

I have several grocery sacks full of stuff I should have got rid of before we moved. I'll take them to the resale shop this week. Doing laundry - usual Monday. Hugs to all.

Hey all, again.

No, that won't be possible. But, I did write a little bit about it in the trials thread.
I'm happy to hear that the swelling is going down, in Bruce's back. I pray it will continue to heal!
Lulu, I am happy to hear that you have family in CA, with you. I'm not sure I knew that. If I did, I've forgotten. Would it be possible for her to also vacate Cali, after you and Ron are out of there? I'd like to see all my dear friends and family get out of California.
I have a beloved Aunt and Uncle, who moved to Riverside, California, back in the early 60's. My Aunt was stricken with Polio and the doctors told my Uncle to get her to a climate, where she can walk every day. If she couldn't do that, her life would be shortened greatly. He quit his job at the Steel Mill, sold his house to my youngest Uncle and took his wife and my cousins to California. She lived to be quite an age, I'm happy to say. They are both gone, now, but I know that I'll get to see them again, some day. All of their 5 children, and I don't know how many grandchildren, still live in Cali. I would very much like to see them all come Eastward.
I know about that wishing you'd gotten rid of things, before you moved, Margie. OH BOY do I know about that. LOL
James!

Hi James! good to see you!
Cheryl, ya, when I first moved here I had Uncle, Auntie and there daughter, my 1st cousin Judi and her family. Uncle and Auntie are now gone on to the Lord, and now Ray, Judi's beloved husband. She has her two son's and grand kids, but no more maternal family, save me. We did have our other 1st cousin Robin, but I think I've mentioned she moved back east, her and her husband, to be near their kids. Judi is gonna grieve for some time, she and Ray were married 42 years.
it's a quiet morning, but I can hear that freeway really clear this AM, it is wicked over cast, more rain on the way, the morning sky is streaked with dark gray clouds, pray for those in the fire areas, now the threat is mud slides....

I frequently find stuff to get rid of. It seems I'm always trying to downsize. Partly due to us not having room for anything more or even what we already have, and partly because I just can't keep things as clean as I want to, so the less I have the less I have to worry about cleaning. But I still have too much stuff! That's largely because of Bruce though...he has tons and tons of stuff and I can't get rid of his stuff; he's have a fit! Sometimes I'll kind of suggest that he might get rid of something, that works sometimes. Other than that, the only stuff of his I can get rid of is stuff that obviously no longer fits, is broken, or in some way is obviously trash. Those things I still don't throw away though. I make a pile of them once or twice a year for him to go through and make sure it's ok for me to toss them out. Last time I did that, he said to just toss it without him going through it because he's learned to trust that I won't put anything in the pile that I'm not 100% sure he will agree to toss out. Just stop in to say Hi and hope everyone is doing well. May Our Father in Heaven and our Messiah be with you all. Miss you all james Hi James! How have you been doing? I hope all is going well for you!Hey all, again.

I'm glad you said something about the trials forum. I did check it the other day to be sure I hadn't missed anything, but I tend to forget at times so always appreciate a heads up! Cheryl, if you're ever at home during the week, give me a call ok? I think about you all the time but it seems like I can never call you simply because the weekend are my two busiest days of the week usually. And when they're not it's generally because I'm feeling to rotten to think much less do anything. BUT I WANT to talk to you!!! It's driving me crazy! I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to have a garden though. I know how much you enjoy that....

I still have family and close friends in and around Bakersfield, CA. I too wish they'd all move away. Some are saved, some aren't, sadly; but I know God will get them before long as I've been praying for their salvation for quite awhile!
I saw about the threat of mud slides on the news Lulu. What a horrible thing those fires are. It seems like they get worse every year. Stay safe!
