yup, we've got rain, but it's more like a hard mist right now, sky's totally clouded over in gray dreary clouds....64 degrees out...it's a good day to stay in bed....but alas, I be up and dressed and ready to face this wet world! I think.......

lol I know what you mean; I've felt that way often! I have good news I think! And yet another prayer request.... Bruce saw the orthopedic doctor yesterday and after going through all his records and looking at all his xrays, and examining him, decided that the best thing to try to get his back to finish healing would be a cortisone injection. So he marked out 6 areas on Bruce's back and proceeded to fill them up with cortisone. It won't reach it's peak effectiveness for about a week, but Bruce felt much better by the time we got home and had his best nights sleep in a very long time as his back wasn't bothering him!!! That alone is fantastic, but what I'd like prayer for is the actual healing itself that hopefully the cortisone will cause over time. (about 6 weeks). If it's not completely healed by then, the doc will do another injection, and if it hasn't healed at all, then we'll try something else. But I'm very hopeful that this will do the trick and the swelling and pain will finally go away completely.
I told the doc (as I know him well...he's seen me and Jenn too lol) that Bruce was frustrated as he didn't feel he was healing as fast as what's normal for him. The doc told Bruce the same thing I've told him, which is that for the extensive damage done to his body, he really has healed remarkably quickly. I think hearing it from Dr Harrington has helped him actually believe it, or at least believe it more. The doc told him too, the same thing all the other docs say, which is that it's totally amazing that his injuries not only didn't kill him, but were as mild as they were. Meaning that although he had a lot of broken bones, the breaks themselves were mild and not horrible ones like they should have been. He also was able to explain why this one area was taking so long to heal. He told Bruce that the bones he broke there were the ones that kind of stick out along the vertebrae (like the cross part of the letter "t") and there's muscle around them. So when he broke them off, they tore up the muscle pretty badly, so it's actually more then just a couple of broken bones. So all in all, Bruce feels better both physically and mentally.
So if you guys wouldn't mind once again praying for him, I'd really appreciate it!

Praying always, Cindy!!!
Please remind him that even though he can't feel the pain, the injury caused, doesn't mean the injury isn't still there. Don't let him over-do. We know all too well what that does to us, right? He needs to be patient and let the Lord's perfect timing prevail!
Ed never had back trouble, until he was crushed in between two huge logs at the lumber mill. The exrays, compared to recent exrays showed that his spine moved 1/4 of an inch. Later on his tail bone started deteriorating. All due to that injury. So, yes, Bruce needs time to heal gently. ((hugs))

Thanks Cheryl! You're such a blessing! Yes, I've told him...more than once lol and reminded him of what happened when I overdid it majorly right after an injection as he saw what happened. But I suspect that he will have to learn the hard way, just like most of us. I'm just hoping that with all my warnings that he won't overdo it as badly as I did. I'll give my update after I reply to Lulu, ok?

I can't wait to hear about it Lulu! Thank you so much for your prayers, you too are such a blessing to us!
More good news! I checked his lower back before he went to bed last night (I intend to do that regularly as I always have) and the swelling was down even more!!!! In fact, there was hardly any swelling at all! Just a little bit at the very edge on the bottom of the area!
Thank You my wonderful Father for hearing my prayers and the prayers of our friends! Please bless them greatly for their faithfulness to pray for my Bruce! And thank You too for giving me such wonderful sisters in Christ and allowing me to get to know them here. It's been such a blessing for me and Bruce as you know. I hope that somehow I can be a blessing to them as well. I love being part of your family Lord! In the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Well...if you all remember back 2 years ago my Uncle Doug passed....Ron and I and another cousin of Judi and mine, Robin were going up to Cherry valley California on weekends and doing work around the house, fixing and cleaning.....I love my Uncles house.....and this past weekend my cousin Judi lost her husband Ray of 40 years.....well, she called last night and offered Uncles house to Ron and I, free, for the rest of our lives! All we have to do is help her with the up keep, and that will help her and she’ll be helping us....it’s a lilac farm! On 10 acres ! Judi has her own house and we’ll be living in Uncles house! Her oldest son will be living there also, he’s going though a Divorce and has to sell his house, and we’ll sell ours! Uncles house will go to her son’s of course, we won’t own nothing, but we’ll be able to grow older together comfy, playing in the dirt!
Watch, our house will sell in a snap now! We’ve been trying to sell for months, we finally put it in the Lords hands and became fine with his timing.....now we know what He was up to!
Prayerfully we can bring back the lilacs! They went to the wayside when my Uncle got sick and then he passed. It’s been about 5 years or longer since the land has been worked....
We’ll be going up soon on a weekend and sit with Judi and her son Joey and write this out and might even have a lawyer involved, but I don’t think that will be nessersary...Ron just wants to make sure I’m taken cared for after he’s gone on.....
we don’t have to stay either! Judi just needs help getting her dads house back to where it once was, it’s been sitting empty for years now, and needs some work. All of which Ron can do, and I can help! Joey can help too when he’s home, but he’ll be working and we won’t be. So it could be just a few years, or forever!
Ron and I are in awe of this whole thing.....we are praying and like I said we will be going up to sit and talk this all out with Cuz and work out details.....
ain’t God great......all the time!

They're doing very well again, and yes, Bob did get another job. I'm sorry, I thought I told everyone when it happened. But then again there's been so much going on that I never know what I've done lol.
Bruce's swelling was down even more last night Praise God! Now it's just a little area that's still swollen! BUT, he woke up this morning with pain in his head again and is still in bed. They did find some changes in his neck and head from the MRI but we can't get in to see the neurologist until Jan 22nd. So I've been praying all morning that the Lord would heal that area as well and relieve his pain..... Thank you so much for your prayers too! I know the Lord is hearing us! I can't stay and post today though as I need to take care of Bruce. Thanks Everyone!

Good day, God bless all. I bought an autobiography book about a woman named Ann Wigmore. So many good stories lost in history about peoples lives, I am enjoying reading this book, Ann's grandmother had faith in war-torn Central Europe, reading about her childhood there, the good and bad in people and the lifestyle of people back then that lived there. I have been keeping busy, bought sewing box on sale 1/2 off, for a good price, only 20 dollars and it came also with thread and bobbins already wrapped with matching color thread, so that is cool. I did not finish my dress because the top part was too small, I will use that material to continue a quilt I am doing, but not all was lost, I was able to make a nice lined skirt instead from what I had.

It doesn't make one feel any more comfort than another, but know that I feel your loss. Grief is never-ending and grips at the very strings of our hearts. May you find comfort in your memories of your Dad. As I find comfort in the memories my loved ones, as well. ((hugs)) I hang onto the promise of our Lord. That we WILL get to see them again, some day. Soon.

You must be a very good seamstress!I miss my Dad who went to heaven in June....just little things like being able to chat about our Aussie Rules footy team... I'm sorry for you loss Steve and understand what you mean. My Mom and Dad have been gone for longer than they were with me since they died when I was 20, but I still miss them at times and sometimes the grief still really grabs me. While I won't get to see my parents, I stand on it for those I will get to see again!Yep, Monday's just keep on coming back every week, no matter what it seems.....
Bruce's back is still doing well, but Friday he woke early with pain in the back of his head again and it lasted most of the day. So he missed work yet again. I wish he could see the neurologist soon!
Here I thought I'd have a relatively quiet weekend, but no.... Saturday morning Bruce grabbed me to go Christmas tree shopping. We drove all over the place looking at trees and finally got one after we'd given up completely and gone to do some birthday and Christmas shopping! Believe it or not, we got it at Walmart! After we finished that shopping, we then had to do the grocery shopping. Needless to say, we didn't get home until supper time, and I was exhausted. Even though I was exhausted I couldn't sleep that night because I'd had to take my morphine so late and when I do that, it keeps me awake. So I only got a few hours sleep Saturday night.
Sunday the kids were supposed to come over after church and Bruce's cousin was coming over with her daughter too so that she could meet Grace. Both girls were so excited about meeting each other that Grace didn't tell anyone she wasn't feeling good. Just before they got here, they had to pull the car over because Grace threw up! So they arrive and we get Grace cleaned up and in clean clothes. (I keep clean clothes here for them just in case). Then I had to call Bruce's cousin and tell her because she just had a heart attack and internal bleeding and her Mom has cancer and is taking chemo, so there's no way I was going to take a chance on them catching anything! After awhile, they left to take Gracie home and I got busy doing the last of my chores for the day. By the time I finished, I was just too tired to do anything else. We ate dinner and then we both were in bed by 8 I think. And I still slept late today!

I am mouseless for a few days using my laptop computer, now I know I always want to have a mouse to use with the laptop. I saw Christmas trees at Walmart, they have smaller trees and look nice decorated and priced well I think. Last time I was at Walmart I talked to a gay man, he said he works on average 65 hours a week and one week he worked 90 hours, having 2 jobs, he certainly had a professional manicure with nails Christmas colors of red and green, easy to talk to I enjoyed the chat.

This is not exactly an upbeat Christ-mas post, more of a rant sigh. I already posted on the prayer forum, but I thought I would post here also, and maybe get a few more prayers....I just copied my prayer post...so here it is. I will make an effort to post something less grumpy soon LOL
I have already mentioned the after class support for 6th graders who think they are gay, trans etc. Now in our small ocean town, they are adding for middle school, a 'safe space'.... well, they are actually calling it it a CALMING room.....
can you tell its not really calming to me arrgghhh
And..... there are 4 levels of 'threat' to the child......with different colors to go along with.
I have to say, on the one hand, I am not totally surprised,
but....
I did not think, it would come here, quite so QUICKLY, to a small coastal town, in Oregon.... Silly me!!!
it's not that I don't think a child ought to have a true 'safe' space when actually physical harm has happened or is about to, or even true emotional distress is happening......
but.... to focus on every little word said, or look or imagined peer insult etc.
seems 'to me', to weaken children... make them super sensitive, and unable to handle life at all.....
and of course,
they are not getting any biblical council on forgiveness, being humble.... ( instead the BIG push to be prideful .... be proud of yourself, you can do anything, you can create your own reality and the like)....
etc. etc. etc.
Please continue to pray for children who need real safe spaces from the crazy adults pushing all this propaganda on the at younger and younger ages.
And I am thankful that we are behind the big cities with trans people at reading times for very small children in libraries and the like...........so far.....but I know, it will come.
God told us is scripture that at the end times people would wax worse and worse....lawlessness would abound, etc. has the Bible ever been wrong.... no, never!!! But God is still on the throne, and He is that much closer to taking us home every day. Frankly, I do also pray that at least for some children all this will backfire. I know our grandson, is really alert to it, and not amused. However, he needs much prayer ( as does our granddaughter and our littlest grandson who is not yet 2) because they need the strength of the Lord.
After all, they are up against adults and peers who have bought into these lies, big time.
The fight is super hard, like never before and kids do still want to be liked by their peers, so its such a struggle!!!
Even so come Lord Jesus!!!

Are you talking about the fake trees or real ones? The one we got was real. they had it wrapped up real tight though so we couldn't tell what it would like like. Bruce got it home and when he unwrapped it, the branches hardly came down at all. It's so skinny it's ridiculous! So now we still have to find a decent tree as that ones not good for anything. What a waste of money! We used our fake tree up till last year when Bruce said he was tired of it and wanted a real tree from now on....so, now that's what we're trying to do.This is not exactly an upbeat Christ-mas post, more of a rant sigh. That's awful Barbara! I'd be upset and angry too! And it's a righteous anger because we're angry that God is being blasphemed and that children are being taught to sin and disregard Him and His Word! But I have to remind myself of what God did for Noah and his family, especially Noah's sons and daughter's in law. He protected their minds and hearts from the worlds philosophies, as well as from their own confused & corrupted emotions & thinking. He softened their hearts and opened their minds to Himself so the women would hear the Truth about Him and be saved and could marry Noah's sons and become their wives! Since the world was in even worse shape then, that makes me feel very safe because I can ask Him to do the same for my loved ones. (and I do so regularly, as well as asking it for those that I'm praying for salvation for!) Of course I've also been warning Elijah and Grace for the last few years that their teachers, peers and other adults would try to teach them lies, telling them that the Bible is wrong etc and letting them know that they can find the truth in the Bible and how to fight back against the lies in a godly way. It sure would be a scary world if we didn't have the Lord and His promises and His power to guard us and our loved one, that's for sure!praying with you Barbara!

Sounds like my day yesterday LOL. I seemed to mess up everything I tried to do...dropping things, spilling things, etc. Oh well, hopefully today will be better!

Thank you for your prayers.
It seems like every day is an 'adventure' for our grandson. This one (yesterday) is almost.....not really, funny but...
They had an assembly.....was supposed to be for the student of the month and a 'holiday' assembly.
Sooooo the teacher running it got up.....didn't even get to the student of the month but went right into:
Do you kids know what this month is about?
And launched into an environmental rant ....
that's right that Christ-mas tree, you bought Cindy...... Well......shame on you
( according to the teacher who apparently is unaware tree are a renewable sources)
Yup! Anyone who buys trees this month is doing great HARM to the environment!!
Our grandson, said, he could help but roll his eyes to himself. ( me too) That was the great holiday assembly!
Actually not only can seeds make more fir trees, a little thinning may in fact be a help.....not only to fire season, but even to the trees....I think I read some where, that tho bad for people, sometimes fires actually can be a boon to vegetation.
And, tho we do need to be good stewards, we also know, this world is NOT going to last....and maybe its self life is a lot sooner than we think.
So I am sorry your real tree did not work out....bad tree LOL maybe it will branch out in a few days?

Oh good grief. That's so ridiculous. Plus, when people do throw away those fake trees, which eventually happens to all of them, they don't decompose very easily, and real trees do! So all in all, you're helping the environment more by buying a real tree. Not to mention helping all the tree farmers keep their farms going, so you're supporting your local businesses. got myself put together much better this morning...but ya yesterday was one of those days!

I wish it was 50 here, but it's only 23 now and is only supposed to get up to 26. Tonight the low is supposed to be 8 degrees.

it's only 47 this morning....I don't think we'll ever get as low as 23, or 8 degrees....burrrrrrr, but at these degrees here in southern cali, people dress like it's 8 degrees
can hear that freeway again this morning...wicked busy for so early!
Ready for this week to be over, work is going ok, busy at least, but it's a Jazz of a Jazzy weekend! Matt and Jess close on their house tomorrow! they get to move this coming week! and Ron and I will have an empty nest for the first time in our lives! wow!

We had some rain too earlier this morning but now the sun is out and it's nice outside. Going to get my hearing aids checked this afternoon. About every 6 months I go to Costco to have them readjusted if they need it.
Our retirement home has Christmas trees everywhere. They're really pretty.

Wow, you've sure waited a very long time for it! It's amazing how long kids live with their parents these days. I'm glad you've got Jazzy this weekend, that's always good! We have Gracie's birthday party on Saturday, so it will be a busy day - especially since we're taking one of her little cousins with us since they live here in New Ipswich. How nice! I'd really like to be able to live in a nice place like that, but I have a feeling it's not going to happen....at least not for a long time.

It is 28*F here right now. I have my coffee and went to store yesterday so I also have orange cranberry pound cake. I got a space heater for my back room computer sewing room, nice to have a warm room, I like Mainstay products, heater works good and only cost 12 dollars. I am doing 2 loads of laundry today to hang outside on the clothes line, tomorrow we will have a cloudy overcast day. Good day.
