Users have a Drafts feature available to them, which periodically saves a temporary copy of a post you are writing as you are creating it. The benefit of having drafts enabled is that in the event that you accidentally leave the posting page before making your post, you will be able to restore the message that you were typing so that you can finish it rather than having to start all over again from scratch.
The way this works is if you begin to type out a post on the forum and leave the posting page, when you return to the topic a popup will appear letting you know that a recent draft that you were working on has been found. This pop-up will show a preview of the message that the system saved up to, and from there you can choose whether or not to restore the draft so that you can finish making your post. Keep in mind that only one draft is saved, and this feature is meant for emergency purposes to help restore the most recent post that you were working on as it's needed
To enable the drafts feature, click the Profile button found in the top menu bar of the forum, and then on your profile page click the Edit Profile button. You will then be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page for your account; once here, click on the Settings tab. When the page loads, you'll find the Enable Drafts located as the fourth option on the page. Set this to Yes and save the changes. Once this is done, drafts of your posts will be saved so that you can restore from them as they are needed.
When I lose a post, all I do is click on the thread again (if I've left it somehow) and then click reply again. The draft shows up in a pop up box and you just have to click that you want to use it and it will put it in your reply box for you. Or sometimes it will show up on the quick reply if I've hung around that, and again I click that I want to use it and it puts in the quick reply box for me. The Draft IS saved until you close that page in your browser. As long as your browser is open, and as long as you haven't begun another post, it doesn't matter where you've gone, your post is still saved and available for you to use. I suggest you try it out on a private message to yourself. Start a message to your self, and send it. Then when you go to reply to it, pretend you've lost your post, by clicking away from it and going back to your list of private messages. Then pretend you've changed your mind and you do want to post a reply and click on your thread again and click reply and use the draft. Keep doing that until you're used to the various ways it shows up for you.
I had most of the question (s) answered and then my mouse highlighted and deleted everything so I lost a lot of what I wrote, and am having a hard time reconstructing it but I am starting again and doing what I can....I am bummed.
Question:1. Examine the Mark 12:28-34 passage. Mark 12:29-30 are often called what, according to the section title above the passage?
Answer:
The Greatest Commandment
What are the two main verbs (the two things we’re told to do) in The Great Commandment? (29-30)
Answer: Hear and Love
What does God command His people to “hear”?
Answer: "The Lord our God, the Lord is one"
Why does the command to “hear” come before the command to “love”? It is only by 'hearing' that we learn what Jesus did for us, God's character, that He loved us first. We have to know someone and have a relationship with them before we can truly love them how do God’s people today “hear” about the one true God and learn how to “love” Him?
Answer: By reading and studying the Bible God's Word, by The Holy Spirit, by pastor's, other Christians, by commentaries, videos of pastors etc. as they learn more and more about God, how He loved them first, and died to pay for all their sins, His Character, His blessing, they begin to love Him more and more each day
What does it mean to love God with all your mind?
Answer: The Bible is not like any other book in the world, it is God's Word. It is not something one reads quickly one time and never again. We can never plumb the depths of it in all eternity...because it is God's love letter to us, which has endless blessing and knowledge we learn to Love it with all our minds because God is our God, our Father, our savior.
Compare and contrast loving God with your mind to loving God with your heart, your soul, and your strength.
Answer: When we love God with all our mind, we love what He loves and hates what he hates The contrast would be to love the world, and the things of the world, its sins, its so called pleasures and treasures which are worthless and evil. We have the mind of Christ, so we can think like He thinks as we study His Word. The contrast would be the minds of the unbelievers whose mind have been blinded by the devil.
We love Him with all our heart because He first loved us, and He has transformed us, so we can love ( its is a growing process) with less self centered selfishness, to the point we would be willing to die instead of denying Him....
the contrast is self-love and a harden heart.
With all our soul because we are united in love with Him, He is our first, last and everything in between, the things of this world grow increasingly dim, because we love Him and Him alone ( we love family and other believers and even the unsaved, but Jesus is our greatest love. The contrast is not to have God in our thoughts, mind, actions, or any part of our self.
And any work we do now, we do it as unto Him....we do our best out of love. The contrast would be some half- hearted effort at some religious rites, if at all, but mostly doing everything for self.
Respond to this statement: “Pursuing God with our minds – studying the Word, learning theology, etc., – is one of the ways we love God."
Answer: God is the Creator of everything, and He has written to us...... a God beyond comprehension, who wrote His word to us.... by studying His Word, learning theology etc. we show respect, honor and how much we love Him, because we want to know Him as much as possible.
Very good! The question about hearing first reminds me of this scripture: “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”” (Romans 10:14–15)
Your answer to the question: What does it mean to love God with all your mind? Doesn't make any sense to me.... you don't talk about loving God at all in your answer, instead you talk about the Bible alone........
The question: Compare and contrast loving God with your mind to loving God with your heart, your soul, and your strength. Your answer looks to me like you compared an unbeliever or a backslidden one with someone who's abiding in Christ, but that's not what the question asked you to do.... In other words what's the difference between loving God with your mind and loving God with your heart, soul and strength?
Question 2. Read 2 Peter 1:1-8, focusing on what it says about knowledge. How has God “granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness” – “through” what?
Answer: "through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord......through our knowledge of Him"
(3) How do we get this knowledge? Answer: through His divine power....he has given us his very great and precious promises ( in the Bible)
Where do we find God’s “precious and very great promises,” and what do we receive “through” these promises? Answer: We find the precious and very great promises In His Word, the Bible.
What we receive through the promises: that we "may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires"
(4) How does verse 8 sum up the goal of the knowledge of God in conjunction with the characteristics in verses 5-7? Answer: By possessing the characteristics they will keep us from being ineffective and unproductive in our knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
What does all of this teach us about the importance of pursuing the knowledge of God through His Word? Answer: In order to be effective and productive, to be able participate in the divine nature, escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires, have a godly life, and have grace and peace, and love ever increasing.
That's good, but you didn't finish your answer to the last question, but I know you mean that it's through gaining knowledge of God through studying His Word.

The question to love God with all your mind...
the reason I was mentioning about the Bible, ( instead of love) was I was thinking it was similar to an earlier question where I answered:
We have the mind of Christ, so we can think like He thinks as we study His Word. And the reason I was trying to combine or unite love with the Bible study, was because it was about the 'mind'
So I was thinking that would not be about 'feelings' of love, or thru 'actions' of love, etc. but how we think and/or use our minds, and somehow that made me think the best way to use our minds in love of Jesus, would be to be in the Word, learning what He thinks, being transformed by the word etc. would be loving Him, because we care so much to know about Him...
and so I wrote:
"because it is God's love letter to us, which has endless blessing and knowledge we learn to Love it with all our minds because God is our God, our Father, our savior".
But actually, instead of saying we learn to love "IT" I meant to say we learn to love God (with our 'mind').
But I am thinking, I still don't know what exactly she was looking for.....
I will go try to follow the directions for the draft.....tho it does pop up often.
I think the problem is the fact, one of the cats knocked my mouse for the umteenth time to the floor....only this time, it seemed like it hit unusually hard!! First, I put in a new battery.... But it continue to be very erratic...( and still is) jumping from place to place while I am trying to copy, cut or paste I can't even get it to copy, go to a site etc unless I hit the button on it hard, several times arrgghh But it will eventually go or do
Still, yesterday I had almost finished all my questions when the mouse on its own, highlighted everything....and then erased/deleted it all
I was able to somehow???? make it go back and recover...the questions, ( fonts, and colors etc.) but NOT answers???
It would not pull up the draft tho? It was more like if I had shut the window before uploading what I wrote? Anyway, I will still try to follow your direction.
At some point, Leonard is going to buy me a new mouse...he actually was looking yesterday on e-bay....some nice looking mice, and Amazon......but either too spendy, shipping too much, feedback not great, from China so might not get here until late Jan etc etc.
He is thinking he will just try a store around here ( no shipping, no wait etc.)
Sooooo I followed your instructions, and yes, the 'draft' is already enable... sooooo I am thinking it was my somewhat malfunctioning mouse that caused the problem.?!?

Question 3.
Who was 2 Timothy written to? By whom? For what purpose? (Choose a Bible Book Background, if needed, to refresh your memory.)
Answer:
2 Timothy was written to Timothy by the apostle Paul. It's purpose was to strengthen Timothy so he would not be fearful, nor ashamed of Paul or Jesus, to even be willing to suffer for the gospel, to continue to preach the word.
Does that mean this passage is only applicable to pastors, or especially to pastors, but also to all Christians?
Answer: all Christians
Look closely at 2 Timothy 2:15. Explain how you can “rightly handle the word of truth” in your own daily life and context.
Answer:
Praying before reading, asking the Holy Spirits help, getting an overview so I do not take a verse out of context, read the full council of God (all the Bible has to say) on any given subject, read and reread many many times, read carefully, slowly ( esp. of you are like me LOL), remember it's God's word to us ( about our sin, about who God, is, about our Savior etc.), scripture interprets scripture (do not look to the world to interpret the Bible ) don't handle the word haphazardly Don't use your 'feelings' or thoughts to rightly handle the Word, or use allegories when there is a clear meaning
To whom does verse 15 say we either present ourselves as approved workers, rightly handling the word of truth, or present ourselves in shame if we are not?
Answer: to God
Is rightly handling the Word primarily for the glory of God, or for the good of man?
Answer: To God for His glory but it id also for the good of man.
What are the consequences for ourselves and others of not handling God’s Word correctly, according to 2 Timothy 2:14, 2 Timothy 2:16-18?
Answer: It will ruin those who listen, they will become more and more ungodly, and they will depart from the truth.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’” (Mark 12:30)
Michelle was trying to get us to understand what the above scripture means when it says to love Him in all those ways. We love God with our heart, meaning our emotions; we love Him with our soul, meaning with who we are, our self consciousness, we love Him with our minds meaning with our thought life, and with all our strength, meaning we put all our energy into loving Him and loving Him more. So yes, we are to love Him with all our emotions and with all our thoughts and words and will all our actions as well. The terms used actually overlap in meanings, so really this scripture is saying that we are to love God with everything within us and without us, with all that we are.

Very good! 2 Timothy was kind of Paul's “Last Will and Testament,” as he wrote it from Prison knowing that he would soon die for his faith. Therefore what he wrote here was about the things that were most important to him. (which makes this letter especially important to all of us). Also, we can know that persecution and all kinds of hardships and trials were happening at this time as this was written just a few years before Jerusalem was overrun and destroyed, and all the Jew's taken captive as slaves to Rome.

4. Psalm 119 might be the perfect Scriptural example of the knowledge of God’s Word leading to a greater emotional affection for God. Instead of studying each verse of this psalm individually, read it as a whole unit, noting along the way the importance the psalmist places on the Word of God and what studying Scripture led to in his heart and his relationship with God. Notice also, his expression of emotion, and his love and affection for God.
As women, we’re sometimes prone to being ruled by our feelings, and we often rightly cite Jeremiah 17:9 as evidence that we should not trust our feelings over God’s word.
What does Psalm 119 teach us about feelings, emotions, and affections that are fueled by God’s Word?
Answer:
We learn that it is ok to be moved by feelings towards God's word, as there are many references to seek God with all one's heart, to do so whole heartedly, to set one's heart on God's Word, to turn God's heart on God's Word, to tremble in awe with one's heart at God's Word, etc.
Furthermore, it also talks of rejoicing, delighting, longing, and exceedingly loving God's Word.
Also to fear it, and to hate and detest and cry for those who mock His Word, to trust, in God's Word, to have zeal toward's His Word, and Joy in it, to find comfort .

Question 5. Explain why knowing and loving God’s Word is an integral part of biblical womanhood.
Answer:
It is only by knowing and loving God's Word that we will get the true whole, and complete knowledge of what the Lord wants us to be as a woman. So if we are not so keen on the Bible we may glean a few ideas, but they may be very lopsided.
We may think we can only be one way ( very legalistic) and if we don't measure up, we might end up feeling defeated and depressed, or we might go the opposite direction, and be so 'carefree' we end up looking, acting, and thinking so much like the world, as to be almost a secular woman.
From studying God's word we learn not to be the belligerent, loud, argumentative angry, , pushy, uppity, arrogant, nagging woman that makes her husband flee to the corner of the house, ( or bar etc.).
It is by knowing God's Word we discover we have different gifts, so we are not all the same as clones. We do learn that tho we are to be submissive ( not door mats), but we are also to be partners/helpers with our husbands. We learn we are not to be constantly controlling or putting men/husbands/brothers etc. down as the culture of woman's lib/feminists would have us do. We learn that tho the man is the head of the household ( which does not mean he makes every decision without any input or thought of his wife or children), his head over him is Jesus, and he is to love his wife and being willing to die for her. He is not a dictator but is to be like Christ willing to sacrifice. His leadership role is not to be belittling and ubber controlling, nor is the woman...she is to grow and be more like Jesus by being in the word ( as are men). But it is thru loving and studying the Bible a woman learns she is valuable and loved by the Lord, tho she is not called to be married. ... married or not, a woman can learn how to act ( and not act), how to think ( and not think) , how to feel ( and not feel) etc. in order to be the woman God wants her to be and to glorify Him. You learn that you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
In fact, if called to be single, you can more readily devote your life to the Lord without various distractions ( that also work to grow a woman as she learns to sacrifice) of being married and having children.
You learn from loving the Word, that unlike the world telling you that your main goal is to have a beautiful face and a sexy body ( and never mind about your morals or character), instead you are to be a compassionate, kind, loving, woman with morals that does not degrade herself, and lives to learn, love and glorify God.
There is so much more we can only learn and know the truth about being a woman of God, His child, a biblical woman, that we can only know by loving and studying the Word. Nowhere else will we get the truth... certainly the secular world filled with sinful people and their ideas will not give us the truth.

Homework
Many Christian women pit the idea of loving God with our minds (“head knowledge”) against the idea of loving God with our hearts/souls (“heart knowledge”), often leaving the impression that pursuing God intellectually is inferior to, different from, and sometimes even less feminine, than an affectionate, emotional love for God. According to the Mark 12 passage, is this a fair assessment or a false dichotomy?
Answer: No it is not a fair assessment and it is a false dichotomy, because God wants us to do both, ( equally) love Him with our hearts ( emotions/heart knowledge) and our minds( intellectual/head knowledge.
How can loving God with all your heart lead to loving God with all your mind, and vice versa?
Answer: When we love God with all our hearts, we want to know more and more about Him, which would be with our minds, and likewise, when we love Him with all our mind, we naturally will love Him with all our hearts, as we learn, His attributes, what He has done for us, His love for us, His laws out of that love for us etc.
Evaluate your love for God in terms of how you love Him with your heart, your soul, your mind, and your strength. Write down any weaknesses in any of these areas and ask God to strengthen you. Write down any growth you’ve seen in any of these areas, and praise God for growing you.
Answer: I still have a loooong way to go loving God with all my mind, but I have grown in this area, and will continue to do so ( even in eternity). And the same goes for loving Him with all my heart, I want to love Him sooooooo much more, and yet, I have an eternity worth more of love to grow for and towards Him.
I do praise God for the growth He has given me!!!

Hmmmm I'm not so sure about saying it's ok to be moved by our feelings towards God's Word.... The reason I would say that's not a good idea is because I've heard many people say things like, "I just don't feel like reading my Bible today" or "this week" etc. I've heard people who live with pain use that excuse a lot too. For each positive word about our feelings toward God's Word, I've heard as many words shared with negative feelings toward God's Word. The reason for that is that until we begin to obey God and spend time in His Word daily, we generally don't want to read it and will find dozens of excuses not to, many of them based on how we're feeling. Our sin nature, Satan, and the world, all hate God's Word and all of them don't want us to read it. So it's "natural" for us to feel negatively toward it. But, once we've truly committed ourselves to reading it daily, then we do begin to love His Word and our love for God grows as well. The reason our love for both God and His Word grows when we read it daily is because you can't separate God from His Word. God is the Word and the Word is God. That's why the saying, "how you treat your Bible is how you treat Jesus" is true.
You also said: to set one's heart on God's Word, to turn God's heart on God's Word, to tremble in awe with one's heart at God's Word, etc. But the problem is that we're powerless to do that on our own because of our sin nature. God has to do that for us first. This reminds me of this scripture: “Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” (Psalm 119:36–37) We need God to renew our minds, and turn our hearts away from what we naturally want due to our sin nature, and turn them toward His Word instead. “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” (Psalm 119:18)
The question was: What does Psalm 119 teach us about feelings, emotions, and affections that are fueled by God’s Word? Another word for "fueled" would be "nourished," "charged," or sustained. For something to be sustained or nourished, it has to already be there. So that means the question could be written as: What does it say about our feelings, emotions, and affections when we've already grown to love His Word and therefore it's His Word that's sustaining our feelings?
Another of my favorite verses due to what I learned from it, so that now I see the whole Psalm differently - I see it as speaking about God as well as His Word: “Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good.” (Psalm 119:39) good. The very attributes of God (Psalm 119:68) become the characteristics of Scripture: 1) trustworthy (Psalm 119:42); 2) true (Psalm 119:43, Psalm 119:142, Psalm 119:151, Psalm 119:160); 3) faithful (Psalm 119:86); 4) unchangeable (Psalm 119:89); 5) eternal (Psalm 119:90, Psalm 119:152); 6) light (Psalm 119:105); and 7) pure (Psalm 119:140). The MacArthur study Bible

Very good!
This was very good, right up to your last answer. Your last answer is very general, but she asked you to be specific. In what areas are you doing well at loving God in each of those ways? What are specific things that are a strength to you in each areas? What specific things are your weaknesses in each area - the things you need to work on? Every Christian alive that's truly saved would say the same thing you did, because we all want to love Him more in each area; but we each have different strengths and weaknesses. As an example of the kind of answers she's looking for I'll use some of what I'd say: my strength is that I've always loved to study just about anything, so studying God's Word was easy for me, which makes loving Him with all my mind my strength. My weakness is my emotions as I've always had a hard time expressing them and especially showing them. Although the Lord has definitely changed me in that area so that since I was saved, I express my emotions much more than I ever did before. But it's still something I have to work at more than the mental part, which makes it my weakness. I hope that helps you some.
LOL Yeah, that can be annoying when that happens. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I sure did! It looks like this study is done, except for the couple of answers you need to clear up. So do you want to go finish working on Acts now? The thread is still open and waiting for us if you do. You could look at it and see where you left on and take it from there if you want to.

I think I messed up the part about: "I'm not so sure about saying it's ok to be moved by our feelings towards God's Word" is I didn't clue into the word "TOWARDS".
I read it and answered it.... 'as if'..... it read:
Is it ok to be moved by our feelings:....... 'BY' God's Word?
And you pretty much said what I would have said about strengths and weaknesses....tho I may be a little more on the emotional side ( as in self-pity, self-centered rather than God centered etc.) but I do have a compassionate side ( as others centered) that started growing first with babies, but even more as God continues to grow it.
Yes, lets go back to Acts....for me, it was never the first book of the Bible I would go to ( I would be more drawn to John or Romans, or Revelation or Genesis, Proverbs, or Psalms etc.)

Oops, that wasn't the last one! Here's the next one:
Imperishable Beauty: Lesson 8- Beautiful Biblical Obedience by Michelle Lesley
Read These Selected Scriptures
Luke 22:39-42; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 5:7-9 James 1:22-25 1 John 2:3-6 1 John 5:2-3 1 John 3:8-9 1 Samuel 15:1–35
In lesson 7, we examined the concepts of loving God’s Word and being good students of God’s Word as important parts of biblical womanhood. But being a godly woman doesn’t stop there. We also have to obey God’s Word.
Questions to Consider
1. Briefly review lesson 7 and consider the significance to biblical womanhood of knowing and loving God’s Word. How does knowing and loving God’s Word lead to and impact obeying God’s Word? Is it necessary to know and love all parts of God’s Word before obeying any part of God’s Word? Why or why not?
2. Study Luke 22:39-42; Philippians 2:5-8, and Hebrews 5:7-9. Who is our ultimate example of obedience to God? To what extent did Jesus obey God (until it was inconvenient, costly, etc.)? How would you describe Jesus’ obedience to God and His written Word during His life on earth? In what ways does Jesus’ obedience set an example for your obedience to God’s Word? To what extent do you obey God? Has there ever been an instance in your life in which you disobeyed God because obeying Him would have been too costly? Considering Jesus’ example, is it ever OK with God for you to disobey Him because it’s too difficult?
3. Examine James 1:22-25. Make a two-column chart displaying the differences between hearers of the Word and doers of the Word. What does James mean when he says that mere hearers of the Word deceive themselves? How does being a doer of the Word grow your understanding of the Word and your trust in God? What is the “perfect…law of liberty”? How do we “persevere” in that law, and why/how does persevering in that law bring blessing?
4. According to 1 John 2:3-6 & 1 John 5:2-3, loving obedience to God’s commands indicates two things about Christians: that we ____ God (1 John 2:3) and that we ____ God (1 John 5:3). In what ways does obeying God’s commands indicate that we truly know God (i.e. we’re saved)? In what ways does obeying God’s commands indicate that we love God? Why are God’s commands not burdensome (5:3) for the Christian?
5. Contrast the 1 John 2:3-6 & 1 John 5:2-3 passages with the 1 John 3:8-9 passage. Is John saying that committing a single sin means you aren’t saved, or is he comparing a generally obedient lifestyle with a generally sinful lifestyle as an indicator of a saved person vs. a lost person?
6. Read the story of Saul’s disobedience to God’s Word in 1 Samuel 15. What did God tell Saul to do? (1 Samuel 15:2-3) How did Saul disobey God? (1 Samuel 15:8-9) When Samuel came to confront Saul in his disobedience, how did Saul respond? (1 Samuel 15:13, 1 Samuel 15:20) Why, in Saul’s mind, did he think, or try to justify, that He had obeyed God? (1 Samuel 15:15, 1 Samuel 15:21) What was the consequence to Saul for disobeying God’s clear instruction? (1 Samuel 15:23, 1 Samuel 15:26, 1 Samuel 15:28)
What is/are the key verse(s) in 1 Samuel 15? Explain how verses 22-23a summarize the main point God is teaching us by including this story in the Bible. Is “doing great things for God” that you’ve dreamed up ever an excuse for disobeying His clear written Word?
Describe the blame-shifting Saul engaged in (15,21,24), and compare/contrast Saul’s use of the personal pronoun “I” (13,20) in connection with obedience with “they/the people” (15,21,24) in connection with disobedience. Considering that disobeying the king’s orders was punishable by death, describe how flimsy this excuse was. Does God allow us to blame others for our disobedience?
7. Why does God require that we obey Him? Explain how our obedience a) glorifies God, b) is a testimony of the gospel to the lost, and c) is best for us, personally. Why is obeying God an important component of biblical womanhood?
Homework
Jesus was our perfect example of obedience, but we can’t and shouldn’t obey every part of God’s Word He obeyed. Even though we read about Jesus in the New Testament, He lived His entire earthly life as an Old Testament Jew. (This is because, during His earthly life, He had not yet instituted the new covenant of grace {by His death, burial, and resurrection} that Christians are under today.) In order to live a perfect life of obedience as Israel’s Messiah, Jesus had to obey the civil, ceremonial, and moral laws of the Old Testament. Do you understand the differences between these types of biblical law and why Christians are no longer bound by the civil and ceremonial types? Give this article a read and explain why, for example, Christians may wear garments of mixed fabrics but may not commit adultery.
Suggested Memory Verse
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22

Question 1. Briefly review lesson 7 and consider the significance to biblical womanhood of knowing and loving God’s Word. How does knowing and loving God’s Word lead to and impact obeying God’s Word?
Answer: Jesus is the Word and the Word is alive, so as we come to know and love God's Word more and more, we want to obey it.
It would not be love for the Word (or a parent, etc.), if we claimed we loved what they said, and then always did the opposite. Why would I want to do what He hates ( I can find out what that is from His Word), what kind of love would that be? It would be saying He is not enough, the world and sin has more to offer.
True love, wants to please the one loved, and the way we know we love Jesus is we obey Him. We are so thankful and grateful for what Jesus did for us ( for me) we want to show it to Him.
To not obey His Word is to put ourselves first, and ignore Him. Ignoring a person ( Jesus) is not love, since we want to truly love him with all that is in us we obey His Word, not just hear it....and it is not a burden, because we do love Him.
Tho obeying a lot of laws will not save us, once we are saved, obedience is an act of love, and we learn what will please Him thru His Word, which we have come to love.
The Word will transform and change our minds.... towards a greater love to Him and to others.
We want Him to get the glory, now in this world ( and for unbelievers as well) and forever. One way, is by faithful loving obedience to His Word, as much as we possibly can ( sin will trip us up, but we continue to grow in obedience to the end of our lives).
This love for His Word will impact our daily lives, we will put God first and obey His Word ( which proves our love towards Him) and we will also love others. Part of loving Him and others is spreading the gospel ( be it supporting missionaries, talking to people one on one, seeing the gospel gets out via books, tracts, posts on the internet etc.
If He is truly my Lord, that I love, His Word motives me to obedience. Plus, I have seen what the world and sin offers, but I have learned from His Word ( and experience) to hate it....there is no good thing in rebellion and sin.
Is it necessary to know and love all parts of God’s Word before obeying any part of God’s Word? Why or why not?
Answer: No.... A Person can begin where they are at. It is a constant and continuous growing process. It takes time to read and love all parts of the Bible ( and it can go on forever) but the parts you do know and love, you can obey immediately
( assuming you are saved....to try to obey God's Word, to make Him like you and that alone to get you to Heaven, and not to rely on what the Lord Jesus did for you, would not work).
But as usual, I am not sure I answered the question she actually asked LOL Soooo you can say:
that was "interesting...... BUT....."

Question 2. Study Luke 22:39-42; Philippians 2:5-8, and Hebrews 5:7-9.
Who is our ultimate example of obedience to God?
Answer: Jesus
To what extent did Jesus obey God (until it was inconvenient, costly, etc.)?
Answer: To death, death on the Cross (paying for millions or billions of peoples sins )
How would you describe Jesus’ obedience to God and His written Word during His life on earth?
Answer: He obeyed perfectly Matthew 5:17 & 18 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. .
In what ways does Jesus’ obedience set an example for your obedience to God’s Word?
Answer: To make obedience to God's word, to be as perfect , as possible, from my heart, mind, body and soul to be my goal
To what extent do you obey God?
Answer: I am not sure I can make a good judgement on it. I know, it's a lot better than ever before, on the other hand, I have a long ways to go. Also, I know there may be areas of disobedience, that I may not yet be aware of. But my heart and mind's and spirit's goal, is to always aim to be obedient , because I love Jesus.
Has there ever been an instance in your life in which you disobeyed God because obeying Him would have been too costly?
Answer: Yes, I am sure there have been, but I can't think of specific instances. I am thinking one of them would have been when, I should have given someone the gospel, but I feared their hostility. Another, would have been along the line of lying for fear of being homeless ( and not trusting God, no matter what), I am sure there have been others, such as being angry and unforgiving (tho later I did forgive), and so on, etc.
Considering Jesus’ example, is it ever OK with God for you to disobey Him because it’s too difficult?
Answer: No....not even unto torture and/or death.

Question 3. Examine James 1:22-25. Make a two-column chart displaying the differences between hearers of the Word and doers of the Word. What does James mean when he says that mere hearers of the Word deceive themselves?
Answer: There may be several ways they deceive themselves ( and maybe more, than what I write). First, they may pat themselves on the back because they have such head knowledge of hearing the Word, but with no conviction of who they really are, they are blinded to their true state. Second, they go to church on Sunday and hear the Word, they think they are justified. But you show you are truly justified, by what you do, how you are growing more like Jesus daily. They have deluded themselves because without changing their life style, they remain blinded to their true state that they have not accepted God's Word at all.
And they flatter themselves as such knowledgeable people.
How does being a doer of the Word grow your understanding of the Word and your trust in God?
Answer: One cannot really learn the full meaning of anything until one does it. We can read about how to cook, sew, paint, build homes, dance, play music etc etc. But that is like a glass 1/2 empty....it is with actually applying what you read by doing, that you grow in your understanding. The same is true with trusting God. We can read we can trust Him, but unless we step out in faith and do whatever we are called to do, we can never be 100 % sure. It's when we are doing what He says, and He helps us in so many ways, we know we can trust Him.
What is the “perfect…law of liberty”?
Answer: It is first off, not a law of burdensome duty. It is doing whatever Jesus asks out of love and joy. In both cases, the thing may be done, but one is not with a free heart, the law of liberty is.
How do we “persevere” in that law, and why/how does persevering in that law bring blessing?
Answer: Some people may occasionally do a kind or good deed for someone else, and think well of themselves and that others ought to as well.
But to persevere is to have internalized the Word, to the point, that it is a daily walk, to be more like Jesus, to do what He would do and say what He would say, and think as He thinks etc.
It's to seriously apply and regard as ultimately important God's word and its application. As we do what Jesus asks, we gain all manner of blessings. There is Joy in helping another, and even more so in pleasing God, and to even grow to be more and more like Him ,is worth more than anything in this world

Question 4.
According to 1 John 2:3-6 & 1 John 5:2-3, loving obedience to God’s commands indicates two things about Christians: that we know God (1 John 2:3) and that we love God (1 John 5:3). In what ways does obeying God’s commands indicate that we truly know God (i.e. we’re saved)?
Answer: Especially in today's world with the internet, the tons upon tons of data ( 'knowledge') is immense.... but can also be an empty pursuit to our most desperate need to know.....about our Creator, our God.
In order to know Him, we first have to know what He has reveal about Himself , about us, about sin and what He has done for us, what He thinks etc. He has done that in His Word, the Bible.
However, just knowing facts about Him ( or anyone else for that matter) is not the same thing as truly knowing Him.
If we know God wants us to do something or stay away from other things, but we never act on it, we don't really have a relationship or truly know Him. We have not truly identified or recognized who He is.
In the doing of what He says, we truly learn and know Him, by how it changes and grows us....which will not happen unless we are obedient. When we obey, have the same focus and direction as He has, and thus we know Him, not just about Him.
In what ways does obeying God’s commands indicate that we love God? Why are God’s commands not burdensome (5:3) for the Christian?
Answer: When we love somebody, especially God, we don't obey or do what He want because we feel we are forced, or feel guilty not to obey, we do it out of love. We are motivated by love, and that is not a burden but a joy, we are eager to please Him and make Him happy.
I think so many people are super confused about love. The world tells us it only about 'feeling' or 'falling' ( in love), of course what the world does not bother to admit, is one's 'feelings' change often by the minute, and if one can 'fall' in love, they can quickly, 'fall' out of love. Love is more a 'choice' a willingness to sacrifice and to obey. It is a choice... not coercion or out of fear of punishment. Nor is it because we need to ( in order to eat, or have a roof over our head) it is a choice because we want to, and that choice is love.
It is not love when we do the exact opposite of what God commands, when we do that we are obeying Satan. To consistently walk in darkness, sin, in the world, is not to love the Lord at all. God does not ask us to do things that will not benefit us ( maybe not immediately ), so that we will grow. In fact, we know what He demands is out of love, for our protection, and /or growth, so how could we not want that?
A person wanting to be an athlete, dancer, body builder, etc. when they first start, finds themselves in pain ( because their muscles are not used to being used) but then they grow strong, or graceful etc. So it can be when the Lord commands us, but even IF it has some momentary pain, we do not find it a burden because we know He is growing and changing us, in a superior way, and therefore is not burdensome, because we look forward with joy to the final outcome.
When we obey, we do not sin against God, which is another way we love, because to sin against Him is not to show love to Him.
Another way it is not a burden is it give me confidence that I do love Him. Also when I see how much it cost Jesus to love and save me, I know, I will never have to pay the cost He did, any sense of burden is also gone. Furthermore, we also gain the benefit and blessing of knowing we are pleasing Him, a blessing is not a burden but a gift

Considering Jesus’ example, is it ever OK with God for you to disobey Him because it’s too difficult? Answer: No....not even unto torture and/or death.
Very good!
Question 3. Examine James 1:22-25. Make a two-column chart displaying the differences between hearers of the Word and doers of the Word. There is Joy in helping another, and even more so in pleasing God, and to even grow to be more and more like Him ,is worth more than anything in this world
This was very good, but I didn't feel like you answered the question of What is the “perfect…law of liberty”? The "perfect law of liberty" is God's Word being applied to the heart of the believer which frees them from the bondage of sin, allowing them to be able to obey God's law. So by doing what we read (or you could say by applying what we read) we are showing that we have been freed from our slavery to sin which can only happen if someone is saved. But as for the whole, you did very well as usual!

I thought your first answer was very good, but would like to add my own two cents if I may? In what ways does obeying God’s commands indicate that we truly know God (i.e. we’re saved)? I think that when we obey the Lord consistently (though we fail at times) it shows that we know Him and not just know about Him, because normally we wouldn't be able to obey God's laws most of the time. We'd fail a lot more and we'd live a lot differently than we do now. For instance we most likely would swear, tell crude jokes and/or laugh at them because we'd think they're funny. But once we begin to really know Jesus, we'd have to stop doing those things because we love Him and wouldn't want to disappoint Him after all He's done for us. We'd begin to show the fruit of the spirit instead, which is yet another way others would see how different we are. Other people would certainly begin to notice that we've changed since we were saved, and the unsaved would wonder why we did. They'd want us to go back to the way we were because now by obeying God, we convict them of their sin and they don't like that.
I loved your answer to the second question too! It reminds me of when Bruce and I were dating. I offered to do his laundry for him (with the ulterior motive of then being able to spend more time with him lol) and he finally said yes. So I did the chore of his laundry and actually felt joy at doing it because of my love for him. Now I still do it, but the joy isn't the same Actually, it is still there, it's just a quiet joy of knowing he's my husband and will always be with me, and that he accepts me for who I am and I don't have to pretend or try hard to impress him or anything. In a way it's the same with Jesus. Though I can't do His laundry, I can obey Him in every opportunity I have. It's kind of neat because it gives me joy to please Him and I know He feels joy at blessing me for obeying Him, so we kind of bless each other, just like Bruce and I do on an earthly plane. Your answer was much better than what I wrote as you were very thorough. I just wanted to share what it made me think of is all....

Thank you so much for sharing some of your own answers. I didn't feel completely happy with my answers to the first question, I knew somethings wee missing ( either incomplete or on the wrong track...etc.) so it was great to read your answer.....I thought, Oh yeah!! That's right fruit of the spirit etc etc. So of course you can add your two cents, even 3 cents if you want LOL

Question 5.
Contrast the 1 John 2:3-6 & 1 John 5:2-3 passages with the 1 John 3:8-9 passage.
Answer: 1 John 2:3-6 How do we know that we know God? do were struggle with doubt? Then a test to know for sure is: Do we do what He commands?
If we do NOT, we are lying, to ourselves ( self-deceit) and therefore not telling ourselves the truth...the truth is not in us. If however we keep His commands, we do love Him. Furthermore, if we truly abide in Him, we walk as Jesus did. Jesus while on earth obeyed the commands of God the Father ( tho Jesus was 100% God the son, while on earth 100 % also human). Abiding is not a one time obedience, or even a once in awhile obeying, but daily, throughout one's life. This abiding in obedience changes our knowing from hoping, wishing, speculation, abstract thinking, head knowledge to a relationship, experiential confirmation, reassuring evidence type of knowing ,that you know. If you believe in God, then you believe what He says and commands, and you want to do it, you desire to show it, out of love and knowing Him.
By the way: This is not a legalistic type of obedience, but a wanting to out of love. The 'commands' are not from a non-feeling despot, but from a loving Father, wanting the best for us, what child does not love and want to please his or her father? Plus, the Holy Spirit helps us.
I could say a lot of things, like I am the President of the USA, but if I do not do the work of the President of the USA, I can be fairly sure I am not.
It's actually beyond saying a person has head knowledge but not heart knowledge, It's saying .... such a person has no truth and lies, he or she is a liar.
Contrast with 1 John 5:2-3
This is more about assurance and evidence, of our love of other believers, and God...by obedience of God's commands, and because it has to do with love, it is not a burden. Love not legalism, not grudgingly but joyfully and a delight, not a dread. It is actually a privilege.
The commandments are not really difficult, or cruel, except to those who love...sin.
It's not just assenting, it's embracing with love. We don't want to walk in darkness, we hate it and its sins.
We are born again, into a 'family' not to hate them but to love them. When we sin and don't obey the Father's commands, we hurt our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I read as an interesting aside (to me), how Father God places emphasis on commands: "at least 1642 commands in the New Testament alone. Strangely,as that may be to some, to me, it was sort of exciting, in that, the Word of God, is not a one time read, and you know everything, become bored and look for 'more' elsewhere.... instead you cannot plumb the depths of scripture....maybe that is just me? But we have God the Holy Spirit which grows us and enables us to do what in only a humanly way, would be impossible and thus is not only a joy but exciting to know, I can continue to grow, love, and know God deeper and deeper.
Is John saying that committing a single sin means you aren’t saved, or is he comparing a generally obedient lifestyle with a generally sinful lifestyle as an indicator of a saved person vs. a lost person?
Answer: No committing a sin does NOT mean we are not saved. In fact, John said just the opposite in 1 John 1:8:
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us".
So yes, he is comparing a generally obedient lifestyle with a generally sinful lifestyle and indications or an indicator of the saved person vs the lost person. it's not perfect but the desired goal, direction, and general basic obedient to the Lord, lifestyle of a person...that proves salvation.

Wow, I don't know how you can do things like that without having the scriptures written out in front of you to compare! I know I couldn't! But you did fine! By the way, you said: "instead you cannot plumb the depths of scripture.. ..maybe that is just me?" and no, it's not just you, it's everyone, including Pastor John MacArthur, and he'd be the first to tell you so!
You did a great job with these!

Question 6.
Read the story of Saul’s disobedience to God’s Word in 1 Samuel 15. What did God tell Saul to do? (1 Samuel 15:2-3)
Answer: Saul was to kill the Amalekites: both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.
How did Saul disobey God? (1 Samuel 15:8-9)
Answer: He did not kill the Amalek king but rather:
"spared Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fattened calves and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them."
When Samuel came to confront Saul in his disobedience, how did Saul respond? (1 Samuel 15:13, 1 Samuel 15:20)
Answer: First Saul greets Samuel with a lie (at least the 2nd sentence)
“Blessed be you to the Lord. I have performed the commandment of the Lord.” 1 Samuel 15:13
and then again (either this is an outright lie and/or Saul is totally deceived because the heart is desperately wicked)
He did NOT obey the Lord, in that He did not kill the King.
"And Saul said to Samuel, “I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. I have gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me. I have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and I have devoted the Amalekites to destruction". 1 Samuel 15:20
Why, in Saul’s mind, did he think, or try to justify, that He had obeyed God? (1 Samuel 15:15, 1 Samuel 15:21)
Answer: In 1 Samuel 15:15 "Saul said, “They have brought them from the Amalekites, for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen to sacrifice to the Lord your God, and the rest we have devoted to destruction.”
First he says it wasn't really him, but the people "they".... however, it was for a 'good purpose '( In his mind), because the saved the best of the sheep and oxen to 'sacrifice to God'.... so he figured it was ok to disobey, in this one 'little' way, because after all, they were doing it for God. and Saul basically repeats that excuse in verse 21....but 'they' disobeyed ( leaving himself out of it, even tho he was the king) they disobeyed (in his mind) for a 'good' reason.
What was the consequence to Saul for disobeying God’s clear instruction? (1 Samuel 15:23, 1 Samuel 15:26, 1 Samuel 15:28)
Answer: 1 Samuel 15:23 "For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”
"And Samuel said to Saul, “I will not return with you. For you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.” 1 Samuel 15:26
"And Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you". 1 Samuel 15:28
So the consequence was that God rejected Saul from being king, and would give it to someone else. And also, Samuel rejected Saul also.
What is/are the key verse(s) in 1 Samuel 15?
Answer:
1 Samuel 15:22
"And Samuel said,
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams".
Explain how verses 22-23a summarize the main point God is teaching us by including this story in the Bible. Is “doing great things for God” that you’ve dreamed up ever an excuse for disobeying His clear written Word?
Answer: It is never ok to disobey God, nor to blame others for your sins. Nor to disobey and try to cover for it, by claiming a 'religious' reason.... God wants obedience over phony sacrifices.
Describe the blame-shifting Saul engaged in (15,21,24),
Answer: In v. 15 tho he was king, the commander off the People, he shifts the blame to the people In 1 Samuel 15:15 "Saul said, “They have brought them from the Amalekites, for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen to sacrifice to the Lord your God, and the rest we have devoted to destruction.” In v.21 he says: "But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things ...." And in v. 24 he does say, he has sinned.... but.... it was because he feared the people so it was really their fault...they were soooo scary, oh wait, they adored Saul.....and/or he was such a complete coward... but never mind, they scared him so he could not do the right thing.....he put the 'fear' of men before the almighty God.
and compare/contrast Saul’s use of the personal pronoun “I” (13,20) in connection with obedience with “they/the people” (15,21,24) in connection with disobedience.
Answer: v. 13 he said: "I have performed the commandment of the Lord"
and in v. 20 he says I four times, trying to point out his obedience. v.20 "And Saul said to Samuel, “I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. I have gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me. I have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and I have devoted the Amalekites to destruction".
which makes 5 times he points to himself as being obedient but 4 times he puts the blame on the people....it was the people's disobedience ( not his).
Considering that disobeying the king’s orders was punishable by death, describe how flimsy this excuse was. Does God allow us to blame others for our disobedience?
Answer: Because he was the king and the people adored him, to blame the people was not only a flimsy excuse, it was not taking responsibility for his sins ( of pride, greed, self etc.). He put himself above God, and excused his sin by blaming it on the fear of the people, so as to say, it really was all their fault.... they sinned but he was an innocent victim....who 'could not' do the right thing... ( which was a lie)
But no God never allows us to blame others for our disobedience
“Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. "Each one shall be put to death for his own sin". Deuteronomy 24:16

Question 7. Why does God require that we obey Him?
Answer: God has our best interest at heart. To not obey is to obey the devil, which can only not end well. The choice is to either be a slave of sin and the devil, or to be a slave and a child of God and grow in righteousness.
In order to grow.
Also ".....my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him" John 14:23 It's a way to show our love to Him and honor Him and give Him glory.
To be God's ambassador and to help others.
To become more like Jesus.
It gives us assurance we do love God.
We will be blessed ( not wealth and health but more or greater spiritual blessings like: love, joy, peace, patience etc.)
It keeps us out of the World and its ugly and sorrowful traps.
It keeps us from deceiving ourselves.
The unsaved may be drawn to the Lord by our obedience.
Explain how our obedience a) glorifies God,
Answer: It point to Him as greater than self, and thus gives Him honor and glory.
It shows His thoughts are greater than our thoughts, thoughts they are absolute truth.
His ways are greater than man's, He is absolutely Holy .
b) is a testimony of the gospel to the lost,
Answer: The way people can see we so highly respect, honor, and love God is not just by talking, but by actually doing, obeying God. ( even if it is at a great cost to ourselves).
As we are obedient ( tho not at all perfectly) it ought to point to the perfect obedience and love of Jesus, since we are His ambassadors.
It shows them an impossibly change life, a new person/creation....that could only happen by God's miraculous power .
Also because, it shows His love in that so many different people ( difference races, cultures, walks of life, wildly different pasts before being saved and born again....people who would never normally walk together in love and understanding with each other.
It shows them the power of God as we resists the world's and the devils temptations, that we otherwise could not do.
and c) is best for us, personally.
Answer: Sin is never ever good for us, and the most difficult obedience to God will result in spiritual growth and eventual blessing ( in this life or in eternity).
Anything that brings us into an even closer relationship with our Lord, is a joy and blessing and is the very best for us.
To obey gives us peace that we won't have in sin....and peace is the best, not fear, worry, guilt, pain of knowing we are hurting the Father who loves us.
To become more like Jesus is the very best for us, nothing is higher.
Why is obeying God an important component of biblical womanhood?
Answer: If a woman does not obey God, she is obeying the world, the devil and herself....none of these are in her best interest.
For example the world often tell woman their outward beauty and sexy body is their greatest goal in life, but it only leads to pain and misery ( for one thing it will not last long even if you achieve this superficial goal). for example.... To go about less than 1/2 dressed, not only brings unwanted attention it bring shame ( deep down, if the woman pushed it there).
To not obey God, and instead, follow the free love idea, is to become more and more sullied, empty, used, abused, in pain...it is not 'free', it has consequences, ( one of which may lead to have one or more abortion of your children) and it is not love.
Following God's way, is to be cherished.
Or perhaps, the world tells you to be a feminist, to be more like a man. This is a foolish pursuit, because, you are NOT a man, and it will not bring you any joy or peace.
Either is an empty pursuit.
Obeying God, not only gives peace, real and eternal life, it grows the inner ...true and lasing feminine beauty, and spiritual knowledge, which is lasting.

Answer:
Yes, I understand the differences. The civil laws were for only Jews who lived in and were citizens of Israel, at that time in history. Since Christians today ( and specifically those of us who are citizens of USA, those laws ( like: not to wear clothes made of two types of fabric, or build houses without parapets around the roofs) are not a problem for us.
Likewise for the ceremonial laws...they were for Old Testament Israelite Jews (many of them also applied to sojourners in Israel, especially those who wanted to embrace Judaism). In fact, they were always intended to be temporary and limited....as they pointed to Jesus, who would fulfill them perfectly.
"Actually, it would be a slap in God’s face for Christians to go back to the OT ceremonial laws and ways of worship, because it would be like saying, “I prefer the imperfect blood of bulls and goats covering my sin, to the perfect sacrifice of Your precious Son, which can take away my sin.”
However, the 'moral' laws remain always, concerning thoughts, attitudes, behaviors that are right and wrong, sin or holiness, etc. Lying, stealing, murder, etc. remain wrong and sins, and compassion, love, helping others etc etc. are right and therefore believers are to obey the moral laws.
The moral laws also reflect the nature of God, and we are to demonstrate that, by our behavior. For example, since God is absolute truth, we are not to lie, He is love, therefore we are not to hate, He is faithful, so we do not commit adultery etc.

Explain how our obedience a) glorifies God, Answer: It point to Him as greater than self, and thus gives Him honor and glory.
It shows His thoughts are greater than our thoughts, thoughts they are absolute truth.
His ways are greater than man's, He is absolutely Holy .
b) is a testimony of the gospel to the lost, Answer: The way people can see we so highly respect, honor, and love God is not just by talking, but by actually doing, obeying God.
Again you've done very, very well! There's only one thing I would add to your last answer about, Why is obeying God an important component of biblical womanhood? While all that you said is true and good, I think perhaps the one thing you missed is also very important. When we obey God from our heart, allowing Him to continue to change us to be more like Jesus, our very obedience to Him can be the thing that God uses to save our loved ones!
It's like I explained once a long time ago when I wrote an article about submitting to our husbands. Knowing that most women today don't like to hear that, I explained that I hadn't liked the idea at first either, but I was determined to obey the Lord and so I did submit to my husband. One day he told me he didn't want me to go to church, and my flesh rose up in anger so badly that I had to go in the bathroom and hide my face in a thick towel so he wouldn't hear me talking to God, lol. I was furious! I intended to go no matter what he said, because after all, we're to obey God first, not man! That was my excuse anyway. But the Lord calmed me down and asked me what I thought would happen if I went to church like I planned. I knew what He meant and said, Bruce would be angry with me. Then He asked if Bruce had ever told me not to go to church before now? No....he hadn't. He asked why I thought Bruce had said that then. I had to tell Him that I knew it was because the roads were really bad and he was afraid I'd get into an accident and be hurt. By then I was crying because I realized that I was wrong in how I'd reacted, and was grateful that Bruce didn't know anything about it yet lol. He asked me to think about what it would do to Bruce spiritually and to me spiritually if I disobeyed my husband and went to Church anyway? Would Bruce still be open to talking or hearing about Him? Ouch, that one hurt as I knew the answer was no, or at least not as open as before. So I dried my eyes and obeyed my husband with a smile on my face. I can't remember how long after that it was that Bruce became saved, but he did, and I believe that part of the reason he did was because I obeyed the Lord that day and submitted to my husband.
“For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.” (1 Peter 3:5–6) “How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?” (1 Corinthians 7:16)
Jesus was our perfect example of obedience, but we can’t and shouldn’t obey every part of God’s Word He obeyed. Even though we read about Jesus in the New Testament, He lived His entire earthly life as an Old Testament Jew. Excellent! Well done! I just found out that there's yet another study she's put up for this, so I'll go copy it now so you'll have it for the weekend if you want it.

Imperishable Beauty: Lesson 9- Beautiful Feet (Evangelism) by Michelle Lesley
Read These Selected Scriptures
Lesson 8 was all about obeying, and being “doers” of, God’s Word. Today, we’re taking a look at one way of “doing” the Word: having beautiful feet that take the good news of the gospel to a lost and dying world.
Questions to Consider
1. What is evangelism? In your own words, give a brief definition of what evangelism involves and why we evangelize. Briefly review lessons 7-8 (links above). Describe how knowing and loving God’s Word (lesson 7) leads to obeying God’s Word (lesson 8), which leads to sharing the gospel with others.
2. If evangelism is sharing the gospel with others, we want to be certain we’re sharing the complete and true gospel. Briefly review my article: Basic Training: The Gospel and the Scriptures it contains.
3. Study the Matthew 28 passage. This passage of Scripture is often called The Great Commission. Break the passage down into three parts, and exposit each part:
The Preamble (18): Describe Jesus’ authority, motivation, and reasons for giving the instructions and promise that follow.
The Prescription (19-20a): What are the four verbs (action words) in this passage that Christ instructs us to do? Explain how Christians in general, and you personally, can carry out each of these actions.
The Promise (20b): What promise does Christ make to us as we carry out The Great Commission? What are some of the things He does not promise us? Explain why His promise to be with us is the perfect promise – the one we need the most – as we share the gospel with others.
4. Examine Acts 1:8 (and read verses 1-7 for context) and Romans 10:13-15. In your own words, set the scene for Jesus speaking the words in Acts 1:8. How is verse 8 an explanation of the word “go” in Jesus’ instructions to the disciples in The Great Commission? Who will empower them to carry out The Great Commission? Relate this empowerment to the authority Jesus spoke of in Matthew 28:18. How are they to make disciples? Think of a witness in a courtroom. How were the disciples witnesses of Christ? Where are they to “go therefore” to find these people to witness Christ to and make into disciples? How does Romans 10:13-15 also explain the “how to” of The Great Commission? Why are the feet of those who bring the gospel “beautiful”?
5. Look at a 1st century map containing Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria.
Think about what you know (or search a concordance) about the disciples’ relationship to each of these places. Was Jesus just naming random places for them to go preach the gospel? What was the meaning the disciples would have mentally attached to each of these places that told them about the people they would be reaching in each of these places? Explain the expanding geography of the gospel: Jerusalem→Judea→Samaria→ends of the earth.
How can you make application of both of these points (the meaning of each place and the expanding geography of the gospel) to your own life and to your church? How can you take the gospel to:
“Jerusalem”– The people and physical location closest to you: members of your own household, family, closest friends. Your neighborhood, community, town.
“Judea”– People who aren’t quite as close, literally or figuratively: acquaintances, co-workers, extended family, cashiers/bank tellers/service people/your child’s teacher. People who live in farther away areas of your state or country.
“Samaria”– Remember the Jews’ and Samaritans’ attitudes toward each other? Explain how The Great Commission involves going out of your way to take the gospel, not just to the people you like and have much in common with, but to our enemies, or to people who look, talk, and act differently than we do, and are from different backgrounds and cultures.
“The Ends of the Earth”– How can we reach “the ends of the earth”? Have you ever seriously considered working in full-time, vocational missions, either as a field missionary or on staff with a support organization? Give it some thought. But even if God has not called us to vocational missions, we can still “hold the rope” for those who go. What are some ways you and your church can support missionaries, missions organizations, Bible translators, indigenous pastor training programs, etc.?
6. Study the 2 Corinthians passage. What is the message Christ has entrusted to us? What does it mean that we have been given the ministry of reconciliation, that we are ambassadors for Christ, and that God makes His appeal through us?
7. “Put flesh on” The Great Commission by reading the story of Philip (Acts 8) and/or the story of the woman at the well (John 4, especially v. 28-30, 39-42). What catches your eye about the way s/he shared the good news of Jesus? In what way did s/he set a good example for Christians today of sharing the gospel? What was the effect on the person(s) being shared with? How do these two stories demonstrate that God can use our circumstances, skills, and personalities as tools for sharing the gospel?

Question 1. What is evangelism? In your own words, give a brief definition of what evangelism involves and why we evangelize.
Answer: Evangelism is sharing/preaching the 'good news' about Jesus. It involves explaining the truth ( without sugar coating it, and yet with great love) about the 'bad news' ....about sin, and hell.
But then, what God....Jesus did for us, so we can be forgive and be with Him eternally in Heaven.
We evangelize because Jesus told us to and also out of love for the lost.
Briefly review lessons 7-8 (links above). Describe how knowing and loving God’s Word (lesson 7) leads to obeying God’s Word (lesson 8), which leads to sharing the gospel with others.
Answer: when we know/hear/ read we find we are in love with God's Word we come to love God more and more, and because we love God we want to please Him and do what He asks ( commands).
We find there are so many blessings, peace and joy in obedience....out of love for others we want them to have the same joy, peace and blessings.
This is shorter today, I had what is called a 'wellness' doctor's visit ( once a year) and then a regular visit. and hung out with Devon....
but also the last 2 nights I had maybe 4 hours of sleep last night and none the previous night.... so I am continually nodding out ZZZZZZZZ
Hopefully, I will sleep well tonight!! :-)
