Welp back to work....

We've had lots of rain here, but it is cooler.
I have a lot of things packed up. We're supposed to have help from hubby's friends but the moving company will do the furniture, washer, dryer. Hope everyone has a good week.

Welp back to work.... Wow, I didn't think anyone went to bed earlier than we did! Even my grandkids stay up later at times lol. Honestly though, Bruce is often asleep in his chair by 7 and I sometimes doze off earlier too. But I try to stay awake till 9. Not sure why, lol, but I do. Are you moving already? For some reason I thought it would be a while yet before you did. Or are you just getting ready?nice quiet morning here. 68 degrees, 75 humidity...I can hear a plan over head, no birdie singing this am...

That sounds good!
I had an argument with a stubborn red squirrel yesterday, and it was so funny! He kept getting on the bird feeder and shooing the birds away, so I yelled at him. He jumped back on the tree and chittered right back at me, quite put out with me LOL. So I yelled back and told him that I put his food in the feeder on the ground. He yelled right back! This went on for about 6 or 7 times, and then he finally scurried down the tree and went down to his own feeder!
The weather's been decent the last few days, but it starting to get hot again. Hopefully Fall will start soon!

I have heard we are supposed to have a colder than usual winter. I am waiting for cooler weather, still going to be 90* for a week, that is warm for this time of year.
Cindy, do red squirrels have a temperament like a red-headed woman, watch out for that squirrel, he might spit a tree nut at you. I had one bird that used to chirp aggressive at me, I thought the bird was a grouch. So many pretty birds but one evening I had a bird fly at me and I had to wave my arm to keep the bird away.

The next week here is supposed to be hot, but then it looks like it's going to start cooling off for us....I hope!
I haven't noticed any real difference in temperament between the red and grey squirrels. I enjoy both. I've had the grey ones argue with me before like that too, which is just hilarious. They can both be very stubborn as well. It's a lot easier to teach the young ones, that's for sure. Generally though, they all get a long. Yesterday a grey squirrel was giving me a problem and kept trying to eat from the bird feeder instead of his own. So I kept yelling at him, telling him to eat his own food. He did the same as the red squirrel at first, hiding behind the tree limb and waiting for me to go inside, and then climbing back down to the bird feeder. So I sat out on the porch and watched him, telling him to eat his own food. Well, finally, over an hour later, he went down the tree trunk to the ground, walked over to the squirrel/chipmunk feeder and looked at it. Then he looked up at me, turned around, went back up the tree to the limb above the bird feeder, and immediately went down that and tried to get into the food there! I couldn't believe it! I told him he was a bold little bugger and he'd better stop it! LOL. When I say I yell at them, I do speak loudly, so they can hear me since I'm inside the porch and they're outside, but I'm never mean to them. They know I love them all. Even while I'm "yelling" the other, well behaved squirrels, chipmunks and birds, are all continuing to eat from their various feeders. They're all so used to us now that we can walk right up to them and they don't run away. I won't allow the children to attempt to touch them though. That's a no - no. They are still wild animals and should be allowed to stay that way.
We have little birds that I call tuxedo birds as they look like they're wearing a tuxedo. They're so cute and curious and will follow you everywhere when you're outside and then just sit and watch what you do!
Yes, I've had birds fly towards me like that before too. It's generally because they think something you're wearing is something they want...depending on the bird, they might think it's a bright flower, a tree trunk, or that there's food there, or a new neat place to perch. Some larger birds will literally swoop down at you, as though they're going to attack, though they don't do so. They generally do that when they have babies and think you're a danger to them so they're trying to warn you away.
quiet morning, Matt just got home from a grave yard shift. He looks tired...this is a Jazz of a Jazzy weekend... Yeah Jazzy! Would you all pray for Bob and Jenn yet again? Bob's in a great deal of pain from the job he got and can hardly move. We don't know what's going to happen now....whether or not he will be able to continue to work it, or will have to look elsewhere, or what... and they have no help money wise or for food from unemployment or food stamps or anything. But they do have the Lord! Thanks everyone!

Squirrels are nice to have around and watch, like watching birds. When I lived in NC that was about the only time I saw squirrels, and they were there every day. Yes, the squirrels know you love them. I do have chipmunks here where I live. Yes, I agree that a person should not try to get close to a wild animal and just let them be what they should be. I have never seen a so-called tuxedo bird before, that would be interesting to see especially if they are friendly. We have woodpeckers here where we live. I still have birdseed that I will put out for the birds this winter. I learned today where a truck thermostat is located on the truck engine and how to tell if a thermostat is going bad. Tonight I will learn how to replace the thermostat.

I hope you have a good day!
I don't remember what the real name for the birds I call tuxedo birds are... I think it's something like Juneco... I'll have to look it up again and I'll let you know.
Yesterday when I went out to feed the birds and critters, I noticed that a part of the feeder had broken off so I repaired it with duct tape, making sure the birds wouldn't get stuck to the tape of course lol. I told Bruce when he got home and he went out to check my repair work. I watched and it was so neat! He walked up to it and the squirrels and chipmunks stayed right where they were and continued to eat, except for one which ran off. He then reached out for the feeder and turned it to see where I'd repaired it, and there was a bird eating out of it! The little one just continued to perch there and look at him. I'm not sure who was more surprised, him or the bird! Yes, they really have gotten quite tame! They don't even mind the noise the kids make when they're here which used to cause them all to run or fly away lol.
We're moving on November 1. I packed some things up early. Donating some things too. That's not that far away. It seems like you just moved into the place you're at now. At least moving helps us get rid of stuff lol Hope you have a good day Margie! Quiet morning, can see the sun rising out the window from back here in the sanctuary. I'm sure they love that! I do that once in a while as a treat, or I'll give them corn on the cob as a treat.
Hope you have a good day!

I looked up images of the Junco bird, nice to see the images. That is good that the birds act tame.
Ever since I sold my car I have been interested in how the truck works, so I like to work on the truck and not just there to work as a helper. I am asking questions and wanting to do all the work.
Squirrels must like peanuts and corn, maybe even the birds would like corn. I know chickens like corn and watermelon. I think the chipmunks would like it also. When it is dinner time my dogs want to eat mashed potatoes and peas, they even like Brussel sprouts with their potatoes.

Devon our grandson, who turned 11 this summer, and is just starting middle school, this week......
Devon told us yesterday, that his science teacher, who he say is 'nice', was in the military
but.......
told the class in no uncertain terms, that God does NOT exist, because there is not a shred of scientific evidence!!!!
She also made it clear that 'religion' and science cannot co-exist!
Frankly, a part of me feels defeated already, but I am praying, it might backfire.....perhaps many of her students never even gave God a thought, but now she brought it up....maybe they will be curious??? One can pray!!
Oh and the first day, she put them all on notice, to speak of the reproduction male and female parts by their medical/scientific names!!
Please pray if you can find some time, that Devon can hold up against the onslaught of this zealous atheist! He is going to have a whole year with her. I used to think this kind of indoctrination did not happen until college at which point many college student lost their Christian beliefs....but 6th grade and with such venom???
Speaking about old furniture, I had to agree Cindy....
the recliner ( we got years ago when someone left it at their apt and said we could have it....so I have no idea how old it was even then.....
The one I live and sleep in....
is now listing to one side,
and is so thread bare the color of the thread etc is gone from the flimsy lining (?) underneath.
I am wondering if it is going to collapse onto the floor on that one side eventually....it also has holes under the seat cushion so you can see the metal frame....sigh!
yes, I too am looking forward to nice furniture in heaven LOL

Attachment Deleted Happy Sunday! Praying Cindy... what in the world did he do that hurt him that bad? Lifting?
Barbara, wow, I would be taking my kid out of that class! Guess she hasn’t a clue who blessed science ah? I pray for our Lords return.....but I’m afraid we are gonna have to witness some of His wrath, that I’m not looking forward to....sometimes it’s overwhelming when I’m reading of His wrath in the Old Testament, and applying the reason why God is SO angry to today....I know we have hope/Jesus, but having to witness some of the things to come? Sadness is all I feel....

After watching the news tonight about all the flooding in the southeast, I was concerned about Leigh (Lorrie). I called her and she said there's some high water in her area but they're OK.

I took some time yesterday to search for ONLY scientists with PHD's...who were Creationists
I got 4 pages ( both sides of papers) and I could have wrote down a LOT more.... I gave the list to my daughter and she will show it to Devon.
She is tempted to speak with Devon's teacher....but in truth, I am not sure she will be able to she has sooooo little time as manager of the store, ( they work longer hours) and 4 kids at her home, plus shopping, cleaning, laundry, washing tons of clothes etc etc.
However, I was happy that both she and Devon saw the (uncompleted) list, to show them, that a 5th grade science teacher ( I doubt she has a PHD) is wrong about her claim that you can't be a scientist and believe in a 'god' who (she says) does nor exist.
These scientists almost all have published work ( in secular works, that their atheists peers read....and many of them publish is Creation publications as well).
I mention that because, a lot of naysayers would say....oh these are just a couple of nuts from some obscure Bible college who have never had anything published for 'true' science.
In fact, many of these men and woman have worked for NASA and famous labs, have patents on many amazing things they developed, won all manner of awards etc. One of the scientists even has 3 PHD's!!
It is not that I put such a high value on PHD's or science so called.....
but for a teacher to tell her students there is no God and religious people have no place in science...
I wanted to show Devon, that is simply not a true statement. There are indeed men ( which to my thinking are probably a lot smarter than she) who do science and believe in God...in fact many are young earth Creationists as well!!!
I feel like unless the school and the teacher allowed equal time for the other side, it is not learning but indoctrination!
If she has said: In my opinion, I do not believe in God and Many....or she could have even said...most scientists I believe feel the same way I do... but there are some who do believe in God
but no, that is NOT what she said.
Hossanah told me that our granddaughter ( who is now a senior in HS)
but also went to the same middle school, had a science teacher who was even worse.....
Vanessa said that every day, she hammered on the absolute truth of evolution ( just for starters)!!!
Well we will see.....this is the start of week 2 for Devon...... I will see what she had to say today grrrrr

Yes, we are fine, and grateful that we never lost electricity and had no damage... our yard is just a bit messy. But no flooding!
I would say more but woke up late and need to get ready for work.
Thank you again for praying, and may I ask you all to pray for Daniel this week? He has tests in physics and calculus and is concerned about them, especially the calculus one. Pray that he understands the material - and remembers it!
(Good news is that he got 100 on an engineering test last week! Woohoo! We thank God for helping him on that one! )
Thank you so much!!

yes, I too am looking forward to nice furniture in heaven LOL That reminds me of a teacher my oldest granddaughter had in high school. Cassandra used to argue with her about creation and God, which the teacher didn't believe in. As long as he has you to tell him the truth, I'm sure he will get through it just fine. All you have to do is get him to tell you what she's teaching so you can then show him the truth about it.
Yep, Heaven is where we'll have all the good stuff! I was thinking about that yesterday kind of... how people here try and get lots of money to buy lots of stuff that they can't take with them when they die, but we can store treasure in Heaven while we're here, and have it ready and waiting for us when we get there, and it will last for eternity!
Happy Sunday! Praying Cindy... what in the world did he do that hurt him that bad? Lifting?

Thanks Lulu! I think you're talking about Bob, right? Jenn's husband? He didn't do anything but do his job, which entailed standing in the same place for 8 hours. His body just couldn't take it. He's had pain in his hips, back and knees for years and I've been trying to get him to see the doctor about it. At least now he's going. He's some better, but lost that job as he just couldn't do it. So now he's back looking for another one. This is harder on me then if it was Bruce that wasn't working! But I'm trusting the Lord to take care of them.
We had a nice weekend. I know some of you saw this on facebook, but I'll put it here too... Jennifer rededicated her life to the Lord Sunday and then she and Bob baptized Elijah and Grace! Pastor Rob dunked Jennifer first though lol. There were quite a few people from the church that got baptized Sunday. I didn't think to count how many but I'd guess at about a dozen. It was all done at a nearby lake and afterward they had a church picnic which was really nice. Bruce and I didn't stay for that as I was in a lot of pain, but at least we got to see the baptisms. I loved how Pastor Rob did it. He reminded everyone what scripture says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:19–20) and that it isn't directed to just pastors, but to all who are obeying Him and discipling others. Since I'd discipled Jenn, he wanted me to re-baptize her, but then was afraid it would hurt my back, so had Bob do it instead. That was OK, as that meant I could take pictures while Bruce did the video.

Cindy what a blessed Sunday you and your family had. Cool, being baptized in a lake. Good scripture pastor Rob read. .Once when I was briefly in the state of MN for the winter I was with a pastor that baptized a few people at a lake. The water was ice cold but it didn't seem to bother the people being baptized. I was thinking to myself how the water would have been too cold for me.

Nice morning...quiet...can't wait till I get to look up in the mornings or nite's and see stars...I really miss stars...there's 4 or 5 out there that are close enuff to see...and I know there are beyond trillions up there...,. . I pray it's the Lords will to make this move...but thus far, nothing...other then the want....Ron is trying to sell to brokers, but we are standing firm on a price, and they want to buy for far less....ugh, it's a long telling....

Thankfully the water wasn't bad this time. But once when we sent Jennifer to Bible Camp one winter when she was a teenager, the kids actually cut a big hole in the ice and baptized each other there!Nice morning...quiet...can't wait till I get to look up in the mornings or nite's and see stars...I really miss stars...there's 4 or 5 out there that are close enuff to see...and I know there are beyond trillions up there...,. . I pray it's the Lords will to make this move...but thus far, nothing...other then the want....Ron is trying to sell to brokers, but we are standing firm on a price, and they want to buy for far less....ugh, it's a long telling....
I can appreciate that. The stars here are beautiful for sure. God's work is amazing! I sure hope things happen soon for you Lulu!

It's been nice and cool here the last few days too, for which I'm very grateful! I think everyone is both because of being tired of the heat, and also will help bring our electric bills down. Bruce stayed home yesterday as he wasn't feeling well, and he had a doctor's appointment anyway. He stayed home today too. His neck has been bothering him mainly and his back too a little. Hopefully he'll be able to work tomorrow. My back is in a flare up so I've been taking it easy this week too.
Praying Daniel does well on his tests Lorrie!

had a great weekend, pray you all did too. I need to ask a favor, would you all please pray that this next month goes smoothly, we have an offer on the house, and we are taking it, so things will get a tat crazy, but prayerfully organized, mostly pray that the offer is legit, and we find our new home in AZ.

How wonderful Lulu! Of course I'll pray! I'm so happy for you guys!
Bruce had a bit of a set back this weekend. He went to a local fair and saw a friend who's probably the only person in the state that didn't know about his accident. Anyway, he decided to rough house with Bruce and before Bruce could stop him, slammed his hand against Bruce's head. Of course he felt awful when he was told that Bruce was recovering from a fractured neck...but Bruce is pretty sore today and didn't go into work. He missed two days last week too because of his back. So the last two weeks haven't been good for him.
Bob still hasn't found a job and Jennifer and Grace have a virus that's going around so they didn't come over this weekend. I just hope that Elijah doesn't get it.
