Hello everyone. Lee I'm praying that Stan's scans give y'all good news. Have fun on your vacation! Sounds like your plan is going to be fun. I hope you get your truck fixed, soon.
Lulu, watching that launch sounds like fun! And spending the day with your daughter too! I just looked it up to watch it live, but I am 2 hours ahead of you, so it doesn't start until 3:25pm CST for me (4:25pm on the East Coast). But, I'll keep that page open so I can watch it, in about 25 minutes. This is the link for anyone else, if they want to watch it on computer, instead of the television: spacecoastdaily.com/2017/06/watch-live-spacex-to-launch-falcon-9-rocket-from-vandenberg-air-force-base-sunday/

Happy Monday to all!! Haven't been up too long but enjoying my coffee. I don't have much planned for this week, Praise the Lord!! Last week was full of doctor's appts. for both Larry and I so I didn't get anything done. But for now, things are quiet around here. Just had Jaspar out and the squirrels and birds are eating from the bird feeder and are playing. We have one squirrel that comes every morning and eats with the birds the bird seed that has been kicked out from the feeder. The birds ignore the squirrel and the squirrel ignores the birds! Larry put up a suet square for the birds. It hangs from the tree in this square wire holder and the birds have to hang on to it while they eat. They really do like the thing!
We really need rain! All of Oklahoma is needing more rain. Here where we are, the grass is turning brown and Larry is watering our tomatoes and okra so maybe they will stay alive and produce. It seems as if our rain chances just disappears when the weathermen predict it. Rain was predicted over the weekend but it ended up being hot and dry. And summer has just started. If we don't get rain, then we won't be mowing our lawns because there will be nothing to mow.
My daughter that had shoulder surgery is doing fairly well. She had torn her tendon away from her shoulder. The surgeon took pictures before and after the surgery. She had shredded her tendon and it had to be repaired. She is unable to use it yet (it has been less than 2 weeks)but at least she is not surviving on pain meds.
I am out of coffee and Jaspar thinks he needs to go out again. Wishing all of you to have a blessed day in the Lord!

Cindy: we do get snow most years maybe 3 days out of the winter and maybe up to 1 inch ( tho that's rare) and only once did it stay on the ground for 3 days....but only once. Plus we have trees in Or. to beat the drum, so we do get a fall, but I agree nothing beats a New England fall! I can say that as I was born and grew up in Conn. so I have seen both the East and left coast :-)
Ke;: Thank you soooooooo much for the sweet compliment. Oh but, I never heard if your daughter's friend liked her painting of her dog?
Well don't you guys hurt yourself laughing..... but we just got a 'HEAT' advisory for Oregon coast...
Yes..... it will be in the 80's to low 90's, for Sat.
It went on to say stay indoors, drink lots of fluids, etc etc. ( the advisory was just posted on weather underground).
I am thinking part of the reason we are having this advisory is the temp combines with high humidity.
But coast folks are not used to that heat, so the rapid increase is significant for us.
We will be back in the 70's Sunday and upper 60's on Monday.
But I always hated to 'dry' heat.....it always felt like the air was trying to grab every bit of moisture from my body. That's nice that you get a little snow, but I love it when we get a couple of feet or more all at once LOL. I grew up in Arizona and then Florida, so didn't see snow except for the few years we lived in Germany. I fell in love with it there and learned to ski which I also love. Of course I can't do that anymore, but I still love the snow. I can't imagine not having a ton of it every winter. The few winters we've had here with little snow, felt like we missed winter completely, and yet I'm sure we had more than you usually get.
It's amazing how our bodies can become so used to various types of weather conditions as well as other things. The more I understand about our bodies, the more amazed I am at our God's wonderful genius in how He creates us and everything else.
Hope you can stay cool during your heat wave!
Well I been "sick" in last couple days I think I got nail with bad stomach virus I was barfing my guts for couple days I am back BTW I been over to that FB page I told you guys about it Look like possibtly I get another OTA Channel the Cowboy Channel which show old cowboys movie and tv show something like Encore Western I see on lineup Lone Ranger Roy Roger show Cheynene which you could see on Hero icon tv network and Star Encore Western That coming in October in SO CAL Area on Direct tv before that going be on OTA Channel in LA area maybe BIG MAYBE on that Direct tv going carry maybe in September Also another OTA Retro channel going joint manage by ATT Universe Dish and Direct going be called Family enterntainet network show old school Lester Sunmarll mysteries in early morning hour like 6am est after that going be Hazel, Maude, TJ Hooker (which you could on Capt Kirk try chase gang member in LA LOL!) Hart to Hart Lone Ranger and other show I try get full lineup We have lots of cowboy channels and old western channels on our Roku Kelly. Bruce loves those, and I enjoy watching some of them too. Hi all, Thanks for the warm welcome back! Its been in the 80's here too but we had so much snow there's still some on the mountains. The lakes are really high from the runoff which is really great because we have had such a bad drought for a long time here. It'll take a few more winters like this last one to get us back to normal. Lorrie when you mentioned the post on Facebook I was like I don't remember anyone named Leigh on Facebook but then I realized Leigh and Lorrie are the same person! lol I lived in AZ for 21 years before moving here to Colorado. As brown as it is there now, its not near as bad as when I first moved there from Illinois. They've done a lot bringing in plants and trees from back east. In fact people used to go there to get away from seasonal allergies and that doesn't work so well anymore because of o bringing the greenery there. When we left there I didn't want to leave but I've been back twice since then, both times in the summer, and I've decided I'm staying right here in CO! Well I posted a few days ago on Facebook about our truck breaking down. Its the transmission. Going to cost somewhere between 1500 and 2000 to fix. We can either buy a used one and pay to have it put in with no guarantee that it will work or if it does that it will last. OR we can buy a new one and have a neighbor we know who is retired and likes to work on vehicles for free. You buy the parts and he does the work. He's just looking for something to do and likes to help people out. He's a retired navy chaplain who worked with the sailors who had drug and alcohol issues. Anyway its going to cost the same amount so guess which way we're going? Either way its going to be awhile as we have our vacation coming up next week and our washer decided it was turned of all our dirty clothes and wasn't going to wash them anymore so we had to get a new one of those. It'll take a few months to pay that off. Our vacation is going to Denver comic con and then going to Co Springs for the fireworks. We were going to go to the Air Force Academy for the fireworks but they quit doing them a few years ago. We are meeting up with some friends of Chelseas' that we really like too and we are going with them I guess to where they go for fireworks. Last year we went to CA and got to see Lulu and Ron again for a little while. We all went deep sea fishing but us ladies I think spent more time sleeping than fishing! lol We had a really good time though visiting with Lulu and Ron. We did decide though next time we go to CA we are not packing so many things to do on one week. That just wore us out way to much. Stan's going in for a Cat scan on Monday on his lungs and then we meet with the pulmonologist on Thursday. The doctor comes here to the valley once a month from Pueblo where we saw him the first time last month. He wanted a full pulmonary test done but there has been an issue with that so we will find out what he wants to do about that. He said we can get it done at the hospital here but the hospital said their machine isn't working right. So he may end up going to Pueblo to get that done. It was interesting when we saw him last time. He was explaining things about pulmonology in very simple terms until I said that our youngest daughter had Cystic Fibrosis and he was like "Oh so you know more than most people about these things." and then started talking in a more technical way realizing we understood a lot more than most people when they first walk into his office. He wasn't being rude or anything he just assumed we didn't know a lot and was being very thorough. Stan and I both like him, he seems like a decent doctor. Talk to you all later. I'm sorry to hear that you've had problems with your truck and washer breaking down. It's great that you have a friend that will do the labor for free for you though. I'm sure that will help a lot. I have the opposite problem with doctors around here. They all know that I worked in health care taking care of their patients and for some reason they all seem to think I know a whole lot more than I do. So they talk to me in technical terms. Thankfully, if it's about something one of my many patients had to deal with, then I do understand them, and I understand a great deal of what they say about both my health problems and Bruce's since I've researched them and also because some of my patients had some of the same problems. But there are times when they go off into something else and I'm totally lost, and have to get them to speak common English lol. Whenever that happens, they look at me like a student that didn't do their homework or something! I sure hope this doctor will be able to help Stan. Please let us know what he says, ok? Hey all, good to catch up some today! Lee, praying for Stan. it's been warm today, all week actually, only 83 today. Been a lazy day today, been waiting on our Netty, she is taking me up to Vandenberg Air Force base to watch another SpaceX launch! We will spend the night, the lifted off is tomorrow around 1:30 I believe! Exciting! Netty just called, she works nights, an just got up, so I'm headed out her way! You all have a blessed weekend.... See ya later.... have fun Lulu! Hello everyone. Lee I'm praying that Stan's scans give y'all good news. Have fun on your vacation! Sounds like your plan is going to be fun. I hope you get your truck fixed, soon.

Thanks Cheryl! Hope you're doing well.
Bruce took me to the Green Center here in town. It's like a thrift shop except everything is completely free. It's HUGE too! We were going clothes shopping for Elijah and Grace. Jenn often forgets to bring a change of clothes for the kids and they generally either get dirty or soaking wet when they're here playing outside. So I wanted to have clothes that would fit them that they could change into when that happened. While we were doing that, we met three other grandparents that were there doing the same thing! Anyway, I got a ton of clothes for them both. Some were brand new still having the store tags on them! I got Gracie dresses, shorts, and tops, and got Elijah, pants, shorts, and tops. Then we went to General Dollar and got them each a six pack of underwear. I wasn't positive all the clothes would fit them, but when they came over yesterday and tried them all own, it all fit them! Plus I got the neatest game for us. it's called, Imagine IF and is hilarious! We had a blast playing it yesterday too.
But Saturday was Bruce's day. While we were getting the clothes for the kids, he turned around and glanced up at some shoes and instantly saw a pair of Harley Davidson high top "sneaker like" leather shoes. We'd looked at some just like them a month ago at the Harley shop and they were VERY expensive. So he grabbed them and looked and they were his size!!!! They fit him perfectly! Then we had to go do some other shopping. We were going to stop at Job Lots first as they were supposed to have pocket t shirts, and then we were going to go to Keene to get him a pair of steel toe boots for work as his are worn out. I noticed a store in the same building that Job Lots is in that sells all kinds of stuff including work clothes and shoes, so suggested we look in there first. Bruce said no at first because we both know that place is super expensive. (for example, the ball caps he wears that we can get for $4 at several other stores, sell for $27 there!) But I told him we should at least look, "just in case", cause you never know.... So we did, and sure enough they had a pair of boots (steel toe) like he wanted that were on sale so we were able to get them for $70. They'd been marked down to 40% off or a little more, can't remember for sure now. But it was a good buy and the one he grabbed off the display was in his size and fit him perfectly LOL. So we got those which saved us a trip to Keene! I should have had him stop at the market and buy a lottery ticket
I hope you're all having a great day today!

Colou! I'm sorry about your daughter tearing the tendon in her shoulder. I hope the surgeon was able to repair it well. OW, my shoulder got a twinge when I read that. I'm happy to hear that she's not having to take pain meds for it, now.
I'm sorry about the lack of rain, y'all are experiencing. We are getting plenty of it....want some? Every time I'm thinking about needing to get out there and water my gardens, the Lord does it for me.
Cindy, your weekend sounded quite busy, but fulfilling. That game sounds like it would be fun to play.

CenturyLink customers are without the internet for days in multiple states. They are having glitchy issues. Some people think that this is caused by anomalies from the sun, as well as the impact on our magetosphere.

That's nice of the Lord isn't it? Gracie went out and measured herself next to the tree we planted a few years ago and was shocked at how much bigger it had grown! I was too, because it seems like it just took off this year and plans to keep going LOL It was a nice weekend Cheryl, I hope yours was too. Not much going on with me. Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. Hi Margie! I hope all is well with you and your hubby. I've got lots of chores to catch up on today which should keep me busy.I think both Cowboy channel going unfortunately Family net that like Sony film and tv library for while they show Sanford and Son and other on that channel FE TV came on the air on Direct tv this morning on 323 I saw Hazel Perry Mason and later on they show Hart to Hart and TJ Hooker That shouldn't affect us as the ones we watch are free through Roku. There were hundreds of people! We had a blast. Wow, it looks like it! I'm glad you enjoyed it! How's Ron doing? Any news?CenturyLink customers are without the internet for days in multiple states. I hope it clears up for you soon. Our internet often has problems with slowing down, but that's just because of where we live ... out in the boonies lol
Hope everyone has a great day today!

Im sorry I am late posting this. David never quit his job. He kept it and we started our own home business making furniture. So he was doing double duty for a long time. I guess we both were, but we took this summer off to get the house taken care of, and take care of our moms. We just moved Davids mom as they sold their house, and my mom has needed some assistances lately as she hurt her back. oh and the kids.. since buying the duplex, we have been helping them a little bit to get all the outside things done before winter kicks in. they want to put up new fences, move dirt around for the gardening and lawn, pressure wash, extend a deck and paint.. fun times. lol
Barbara, I thought I told you in an email that Devyns friend LOVED the picture!!!.. she has it hanging in her home.. When i can, I will post a picture of all the paintings Barbara has done for us..
its a cool day here today.. Devyn and I are going camping this weekend. say a prayer for us.. its a new campground called Taidnapam (Tide Nah Pahm) never been there, so I hope its a good one.
then we are off the week of the 4th.. David really needs it

We've been watching Star Gate Atlantis lately and enjoying it. In the first one (I think it was anyway) where it shows Atlantis rising out of the ocean, it made my mind flash to Revelation where it talks about New Jerusalem coming down from heaven. (I know...it's opposite..ones coming down, and ones going up lol, but that's how my mind works lol) Anyway, as I watched the huge and beautiful city of Atlantis rise, I imagined that it would be kind of like what others will see when New Jerusalem comes down to the earth... the magnificence and beauty, and enormity of it will all be so overwhelming!

Hope all of you have a good week. One lady here has decorated her doorway with lots of red, white and blue wreaths, bunting and flags. She didn't stop there. She has 2 dollhouses on a stand beside her door and decorated them too with miniature wreaths, flags and even tiny bunting on the tiny picket fence. It looks adorable.
I walked my friend's dog this morning. We left at 8 am but by 9 it was already hot.

Hi all, We're getting ready for the trip this weekend. I am officially on vacation!! Woohoo!! Don't go back to work until the 9th.
Got our new washer. Its nice having one that's brand spanking new. Never had that before, only had the new to us kind of ones.
Chelsea bought a new car second hand from our landlord. That's the one we are taking to Denver.
Had a bit of a scare with Stan Sunday night. He woke up not feeling well, went to work did his shift, breakfast and lunch, then went home. When I got home he still wasn't feeling well. He was complaining about his muscles twitching and not getting enough oxygen so he bumped it up from 2 to 4 liters. After awhile he started feeling warm so he took his temp and it was 101.5! He took some tylenol, called a co worker to work for him Monday as he can't go to work with a temp then went to bed. Checked on him a few times during the night. He was still in bed when I left in the morning but I did talk to him and he felt that his temp had broke but he was still to tired to get up. Called him later and he was feeling a lot better and his temp ha broken. By MOnday evening he was pretty much back to normal. After thinking about it, we think we know what happened. He's on two different insulins, an immediate one and one that's long acting and sometimes the one will cause a bubble of insulin and instead of the insulin being absorbed like it should it will just stay there and then the bubble will burst and cause those type of symptoms. It happened once before several months ago but he didn't take his temp then so we didn't realize Sunday that was what was happening. The first time we were with my sister and BIL and he's a diabetic too and has this happen to him and he new what to do so it was taken care of right away. Next time I'll know what it is but hopefully it wont happen. He's back to normal now. It seems like its always something don't it?

Hello all, I am in Virginia with John (who is traveling for work) and I get to spend the day with my sister while John is in a meeting. My computer battery is low so I can't linger. Have been wide awake since 4:11 a.m. 😒 See you all later!

Hi, I am still breathing smoke here from fires burning. I can look outside at night and see where a fire is burning on a mountain. I am suffering from the effects from breathing smoky air, I hope it will rain soon. I am going to sign up today for a free on-line course in geometry. The course is given through my on-line church and about 300 other people will be signing up for the course also. I hope it will be a blessing for me and help to open my mind up to the world of numbers, but if not then I will just quit the course.

Sorry for not making it to this thread yesterday. I'm running behind as usual. It seems like I have so much to do and not enough time to do it all in. I guess it's mostly because it takes me so much longer to do things now. The problem is that the Lord didn't give me a longer day to do them all in! Hope all of you have a good week. One lady here has decorated her doorway with lots of red, white and blue wreaths, bunting and flags. She didn't stop there. I love to see the patriotic displays around town and some people, like your neighbor, are so creative with things like that! Hope all of you have a good week. It was built to literally look like a doll house! The biggest problem with it though was that the rooms themselves were tiny lol. So there was no way it would work for me at the time since I still had all the kids at home. That would be so scary Lee! I'm so glad he's ok and that you all figured out what happened and can deal with it if it happens again. So, you're going to Denver for your vacation? You said you were going to a "comic con", is that short for convention? If so it sounds like something my son in law would just love to go to. He collects comic books and has boxes and boxes full of them! What all do they do at those things?Love you too Cindy (((hugs))) :) Lee you're right; it IS always something! Thankful that Stan is okay. Hello all, I am in Virginia with John (who is traveling for work) and I get to spend the day with my sister while John is in a meeting. My computer battery is low so I can't linger. Have been wide awake since 4:11 a.m. 😒 See you all later! Boy, I bet John would rather be where you are LOL. enjoy your visit!Hi, I am still breathing smoke here from fires burning.
That's interesting that a church would offer a course in math... don't think I've ever heard of that before! Hope you enjoy it!

Everyone! Just popping in to wish everyone a happy 4th weekend.......although the 4th isn't even until Tuesday. I guess y'all celebrate this weekend? Everything is just another day to me anymore.
Lee, I love to watch Scorpion, too. It's a very well thought out story line. Well.....lol...I guess it would have to be well thought out, huh? Being that the characters depict the smartest young people in the world. I've actually met people like them. Smart, but socially ignorant. But, it's entertaining. lol
I'm glad that Stan is alright now. That had to have been terrifying for you. Yes, it IS always something. It always will be, until the Lord takes us Home. With Ed, we spent SO much time in the hospital, for such a long span of time that when they asked ME if I'd had any surgeries, my brain was so fuddled with pain, that I couldn't remember! Then when the puzzled doc re-phrased his question, and asked if I'd ever had my appendix removed, I said "I still have all my parts". LOL, I couldn't remember if I'd actually said that out loud, but it's in my medical transcripts.
How did Stan's scans turn out? Have you gotten the results back yet? Awesome that you got a brand new washer! Congrats to Chelsea for the new to her car!
Anna, geometry? You're more brave than I am. lol Have fun with it, though. Let us know how it turns out for you. I pray that the Lord will rain down on those fires.
Leigh, have fun visiting with your sister! How long do you get to stay in Virginia?
Margie, that's neat what the neighbor did to celebrate the holiday. That's an inventive, neat idea to use doll houses to decorate with.
I wish I could give y'all a breakdown of my comings and goings, but I really can't. Nothing happening here. Unless you count the tomato worms, I had to pull off of my plants a couple of days ago. I went out to check on them and noticed the plants looked like the leaves and tops had been cut off. I knew better though and started checking around and sure 'nuf, found the culprit. And then kept spotting them all over the place. I pulled off 8 of them. Big ones too. It was pretty gross. I've never had that problem before, so it did surprise me.
I can't post any pictures of my gardens, here, anymore. Or any other pictures, for that matter. Photobucket has decided that my pictures are not important, and has blocked me from getting to them, unless I pay them for my own pictures. Yeah, you might say they are holding them hostage. I tried to get into the site one day, and it said that if I don't remove my pop-up blocker, then I would not be allowed to access the site. So, I removed my pop-up blocker for them, and them only, and now there are so many pop-ups that it locks up the site and I STILL can't get to my pictures. These are pictures that date back to the beginning of Fresh-Hope! THOUSANDS of them! They claim that if I pay them, I won't get pop-ups. I might end up having to pay for one month, just to pull off all my photographs, delete them from that site and canceling it altogether. Is this happening to anyone else?
Also, the last few times that I've come here, I'm getting the same type of thing. It has a banner at the bottom that has a stop-sign that won't go away until I click on it and it wants me to remove my pop-up blocker here too. So, if I suddenly don't post anymore, you'll know what happened.

I can not use photobucket anymore, but I don't much care, I did not have any photos that were important to me on there. Wow you had a lot of photos at photobucket! There must be another place like photobucket for people to use but I don't know about any such place. I did not see a warning from photobucket that they planned to do what they did.
I was wondering what pop up blocker that you use. I just now was given a pop up blocker site from my worship chat site, the name of it is adblockplus.org. I saved it to show it to Ron to see if he wants to use it. As I see changes on the internet sometimes I feel like it is just for young people to use and I am getting to old to want to keep up with it. When my lap top quits working I might just buy a cheap crome book computer. If I run short on money, the internet will be the first thing to go, if it is up to me to decide. I can get free wifi at the library. Ron and I went to google earth and looked at route 66 street view, to see what it looks like now days, almost all building are empty, made me think about the advancement of e commerce, especially Amaz*n.
The teacher for the geometry is a Christian on the worship site that I go to, he said he could teach it so easy that even a person that was learning challenged could learn, and working with numbers will help to open the mind to learning in general, for people who shy away from math.
Were the tomato worms large green worms? That is what happen to Donna's tomato plants last summer, I think she said the tomato plants were destroyed overnight, she was upset about that. I have seen those large lime green color worms around here.

I have seen those large green worms around here. Yes, they are large green fat worms. Here's Wikipedia for a picture. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manduca_quinquemaculata Yes, they do a lot of damage. I'm watching my plants, and if I see further damage, that will endanger my tomatoes, then I'm going to have to pick the tomatoes, green, and ripen them in the house. I sure hope I don't have to do that, because the tomatoes will be just like store bought, and not red and sweet. My peppers are faring well, and I haven't seen any of those buggers on there, yet.
Yes, it's adblockplus (ABP) that I have, that is an add-on for firefox. I've had it for years, and it's served me well. Sites don't like it, because it does a good job of blocking popups.

Kel: Thanks for letting me know! Maybe you said something on facebook? I only get there every now and then....Leonard goes everyday.....but if he saw the post, he forgot to tell me. I just always worry a little....I want people to be happy with their dog portrait.
Cheryl....those are icky worms ugh!!! Leonard posted on facebook this cute short video of a swan, that 'weeded'....very carefully, I might add, it did not pull up the plants the gardener wanted, only weeds and sticks....and I suspect....icky worms!!!
I want that swan!!! Well he was a black swan, but he was adorable and such a good worker!!!
Kel: Does that mean you are staying in Or. then?

I meant to get here earlier and wish Daniel a Happy Canada Day. That's today! I'll send him a message.
Had more rain this morning. I cleaned our patio this afternoon - swept up the plant debris, re-arranged the few houseplants I now have. Looks like we could get more rain.

I hope you do get more rain, Margie. Well.........unless you've gotten too much, lately. I can't remember now. It's raining, here, today. It hasn't rained for a few days, so it's welcomed. I just don't like it if it rains every day, like it was there for a while.
I picked a few of my big bell peppers, last night. I stuffed two of them and baked them. Seemed to take me all evening to do that, because I can't stand in the kitchen for very long and have to go sit down. Usually, I just make a bowl of cereal, or just eat some cucumbers for supper. Not eating well now. Well, I did eat the last of my spaghetti sauce from my freezer the other night. That was enjoyable, and not much preparation involved. Heat and eat meals come in pretty handy these days. I need to make more of that sauce. But, I have to pace it in the course of a few days. I cooked up some ground beef with peppers, garlic, onions, mushrooms, fresh basil and other Italian spices. That was all I could manage. It's in the fridge. I'm moving a bit slower today, so tonight, if I have enough strength in my legs, without too much pain, I might be able to get the tomatoes and sauce going in my stock pot and add that hamburger mixture, I already cooked. Then I can sit down for 2 hours and let that simmer. The hard part is going to be bagging it. I don't have Ed to help me, now, so I have to figure out a way to do it by myself. I have been using one of my bar stools to sit on, in the kitchen. That has been helping me a lot. But, I don't have 4 hands and the two that I have, don't like to work for me. Ed was going to make us one of those stands that holds up plastic bags, but I never saw the point. I had him to help me, and I really enjoyed working in the kitchen, with him.
Barbara, that swan sounds like something I'd love to have around too!

I guess I should not have done so much in the last 3 days. I woke up screaming from the pain.
