Hi Lee! How have you been? What have you been doing? Nice to see you here.
It is so hot outside that I am just staying indoors as much as possible. Do you still work at that same job? How is Stan doing? Well I'll be stitching to a site now that has on-line praise and worship, every day is a new day to walk and talk with the Lord.

Hello everybody!! Surprise surprise! Been way to long. Looking forward to catching up with you all. Hi Lee! It's great to see you! I'm sorry I missed your post yesterday. It's been a crazy few days for me. How are you doing? It's been really hot here. Looks like farmers almanac's right about this summer. At least so far anyway. They said it would start early and be a lot hotter than we're used to, and that's exactly what's happened. They also said we'd get some very bad storms, but I've been praying against that from the day I read about it, and so far it hasn't happened, thanks to the Lord!
That's wonderful for you Marlene! I've been staying inside too because of the heat. The ticks are really bad this year too so that's also kept me indoors. (besides the fact that going outside makes my eyes hurt). Two days ago Bruce road his motorcycle for awhile and then came home. He didn't even get off the bike. But he found two ticks on him while he was riding and a third when he got in the house! That was enough to keep me inside for sure!
Guess what? I've finally got insurance!!!! It's through our hospital and they'll pay 100% of my doctor and hospital bills including my past ER bill from when I went in for chest pain! God is so very good! Now I can try and get an appointment to see my rheumatologist finally! Plus I have a feeling that my doctor is also going to want me to see the orthopedic doctor for my back again since it's gotten much worse and there's a major curve in my lower back now. But at least I'll be able to see him which is a relief!

I had heard that there were a lot of ticks this year in the northeast states. I didn't know it was that bad that Bruce got three ticks on him from just a motorcycle ride. I hope your cats don't want to go outside. What good news that you got health insurance through your hospital, thank the Lord. The other day when Ron and I went to go to the gas station to get some milk and eggs, I had the eggs on the seat of the truck and was standing outside the door when Ron thought I was sitting in the truck and he started to drive away, I stepped back away from the truck and shouted at him ( I hate to shout in public) and then he stopped the truck, he must have been tired from not feeling well lately. Yesterday the thermostat in my bedroom at 2 in the afternoon read that the temperature was 99 degrees. I can't cool the all of the home well, mostly just the living room. So far I am dealing with it OK.

Cindy, wicked happy you can now get the medical help you need! Ron needs medical insurance also, for that surgery on his ankle. We are in waiting mode now..... Hi Lee! How the heck are you & Stan?

Here in Oklahoma the ticks and mosquitoes are really bad! And our weather has been a little crazy this year but I believe summer is now upon us! After I worked at the church last Thursday, when I got in my car to go to the bank the inside temp was 106! I had the air going full blast and rolled down both front windows to air out the car. But it didn't take long, thank goodness. Cindy, that is great you getting insurance. What a blessing!! The Lord has opened the door for you to be able to see the doctor! Praise the Lord!! I am not feeling well today at all but in a little while I have to make a drive to Shawnee for an ultra-sound on one of my legs. My heart doctor thinks I have a blood clot but I don't think I do. It is just my bad leg that is flaring up and hurting quite a bit. Larry (my husband) had to go to the VA hospital for 3 appts. One for a CT scan of his lungs and 2 appts. for his eyes. I believe if nothing happens he will have cataract surgery on the 30th of this month. I hope all turns out well for him since I couldn't go. Hope all has a good day!

Hello everyone! I'm sorry that I've been so AWOL in this last while. I've had company for several days, and kept pretty much away from the computer. I peeked in a couple of times, but that was all.
Hi Lee and Colou!! Great to see you here! It's been really hot here too. In the 90's, but we got some rain that did give some relief as to the high temps, but has made it very humid. But, my garden is loving it. lol I've pretty much stayed inside the house too. My yard looks absolutely terrible, but there's not much I can do about it.
Colou, I hope they are able to pinpoint the correct source of your leg pain. Let us know, OK? And I hope everything goes well for Larry at the VA hospital. And I pray you have a good VA hospital that you go to. Ed's was pretty good, but we refused to accept any referral to the St. Louis, Missouri VA. That place is just awful, and treated Ed like dirt.
Cindy, the tick attacks on Bruce was shocking, even to me! I do know though, that ticks will drop out of the trees and land on a person or animal. And you don't even have to be in high grass. So, he must have gotten them that way. Be sure to check him for deer ticks. They will drop from a tree branch in hundreds and the "host" will have tiny red, itchy bumps (like chiggers, but tiny). It happened here in Kentucky to my Dad and to a neighboring camper. My Dad was walking through high weeds, when he got them, but my friend was walking under a tree and felt them dropping on her. Both of them were covered with tiny red bumps. My Dad was so afraid that he'd contract Lyme Disease, but thankfully never showed any symptoms of that horrendous disease. I'm terrified of those things! I have so many scars on me from ticks that I've lost count. (not deer ticks, thank the Lord)
I'm so happy to know that you finally have insurance, Cindy! WHAT a blessing!! The Lord does provide!
Anna, having it 99 degrees in your bedroom is awful! I would be sleeping in the living room for sure, if my room was that hot. I pray you are able to find relief in this heat. Thankfully, my bedroom stays relatively cool, for some reason. It really does help me sleep better.
I was just now looking at the weather site, to see what temp we are having, right now, because I haven't been outside for the last 2 days, except to go check the mail. It says 88 degrees. That's not bad at all. Not compared to what we've been having. But, I noticed something else. LOL, the tropical rain storm that is coming up out of the Gulf, and they are saying is going to sweep the southern states has been named "Cindy". So, now Cindy, you have a tropical storm named after you.
Kel, if you do move to Louisiana..........I hope you aren't considering the Southern portion of that state. That tropical storm is expected to majorly flood that area (again). I hope your financial situation improves for the two of you soon.
Same with you, Lulu and Ron. I've been praying over everyone's situations, hoping that some good news will come your way.......and soon.
Hugs to you too Margie. I hope you had a wonderful time, visiting with your son for father's day.
I hope I didn't miss anyone. I probably did, but I'm so behind here, that I think this post is plenty long enough. LOL

Hi all,
Its nice to be back. I can't explain why I've been gone, I'm really not sure why.
Things have been good and bad. Just like everyone else.
Lets see, Stan retired and then after a year got a part time job were I work. He's the breakfast cook/server on first floor. I'm the housekeeper on 3rd floor. The residents absolutely love him. He really enjoys it too. Stan's had some health issues. His COPD has kicked in and he's on oxygen most of the time now but there is no open flame in the 1st floor kitchen (electric stove) so he can wear his oxygen if he needs to. Good thing is his blood sugar is doing real well and its under control.
Chelsea is going on her fifth year teaching. She's now the middle school English teacher at the school She, Katie and Nickie all graduated from. The school is k-12. Quite a few of her old teachers are still there. In fact one of them was quite put off when he realized she was turning 30 two years ago. Made him feel old. lol For several weeks after her birthday every time he saw her he would look at her and say "30?" Shake his head and walk away. She's very happy there and the kids love her. She's decided she wants to be a foster mom. She's thought about it for years and feels that now is the time to do it. She's settled in her career and is very stable. She wants to foster with intent to adopt. She wants to give a kid a forever home not just a few months or a year. She wants a grade schooler. She doesn't want biological children because there is a very high chance of her passing on the CF gene and in the rural area we live there are virtually no foster parents or people who want to adopt a kid who's not a relative so there is a big need for this. She's just starting the procedure but her first interview they said she looked like a really good candidate. So i looks like I'll be a grandma here sometime in the next several months. I'm really looking forward to it.
Nickie is doing well. He's back at college. He wants to be a personal fitness trainer. He's met a girl named Raven in school. She's doing the same degree. She seems really nice and Nickie is happy. He's one of those that its hard to tell his mood for most people but I seem to be able to read him pretty well and there is no doubt that he is in the best place mentally and emotionally he's been in a long time. Seems like she's good for him and for that I am very thankful.
I'm doing okay. Still working. Been there for over five years now. Doesn't seem that long.

I'm so proud of Chelsea, and am not surprised that she is doing so well. From everything you've told us about her, I just knew she'd be a beloved teacher. And to be fostering a child! That is probably even better news than being a great teacher. Can't wait to say "HEY GRANDMA!" I'm so happy to know that Nickie is doing so well, also. And that all of you still keep in touch. It's good to know he's happy too. Five years? No, it doesn't seem that long to me either, but that's pretty cool that you've been with them for so long, and that Stan is working for them too. I'm sorry that his COPD is so bad, now. But, happy that the residents love him. That's important.
There is something that I noticed about all the ladies here. Everyone who ever met and knows our husbands, love them. I didn't even think about it, until I read what you wrote, but it's true. Ed worked for Easter Seals, before he finally retired, and all the ladies and the children were nuts about him. He did the maintenance for children's building. One day, when he was arriving for work, one little girl was fighting her mother and didn't want to get her coat on, to leave. She was keeping her arms down to her side, so her mother couldn't put her coat on her. She saw Ed coming in the door and reached her arms out to him, to be picked up and her mother slipped her coat over her extended arms. They all had a good laugh about that. And I have a picture, somewhere, of Ed and one of the other children. She had put her back to him and flipped her pony tail up over the top of Ed's head and made him look like he had hair. It was an hilarious picture. I could just tell that those children thought the world of him. Thank you for reminding me another good memory.

To dangerous out there for them.
Poor Ron, he must have been feeling bad not to realize you weren't in the truck. But it sure makes for a funny picture! That must be awful to not be able to cool your house down. I was only in the 80's here yesterday and I blew a fuse and couldn't get the electricity back on. Took me two and a half hours and I was roasting by then, so I can't imagine it being as hot as it was in your house! That's awful! I sure hope you're able to find some way to stay cool Marlene.Cindy, wicked happy you can now get the medical help you need! Ron needs medical insurance also, for that surgery on his ankle. We are in waiting mode now..... Hi Lee! How the heck are you & Stan? Thanks Lulu. I've already got the appointment with my rheum doctor. They stuck me in with Bruce for Sept 1st, although normally they're scheduling people for October now as he's all filled up. What a blessing it was that they got me in then instead! Now I just have to make an appointment with my primary care doc and see if he thinks I should go to the orthopedic doctor or someone else... I should do that today but I'm just too tired to even think.
I'm praying for you guys and hope it's all straightened out very soon! Here in Oklahoma the ticks and mosquitoes are really bad! And our weather has been a little crazy this year but I believe summer is now upon us! After I worked at the church last Thursday, when I got in my car to go to the bank the inside temp was 106! I'm so sorry you and your hubby are going through all that. I've been praying for you guys though and hope you'll both be feeling better soon. I sure hope you don't have a blood clot! Please let us know what they say, ok? It seems like it's been awfully hot everywhere lately! I hope you're able to stay cool at home at least!Hello everyone! I'm sorry that I've been so AWOL in this last while. I've had company for several days, and kept pretty much away from the computer. I peeked in a couple of times, but that was all.

Oh boy, a tropical storm named Cindy lol. My grandkids will get a kick out of that! LOL I did check Bruce over carefully, and he was fine. After all the tick problems I've had, that's one thing I'm careful about. I check the kids too after they've been outside playing. Thank you for your prayers hon, I've been praying for you too!Hi all, Its nice to be back. I can't explain why I've been gone, I'm really not sure why. Things have been good and bad. That's how my daughter got Maddie, my latest granddaughter. It took 4 years, but Maddie is now officially ours! (She's 5 years old now) I'm sorry to hear that Stan's been having more medical problems though. I'm glad he was able to find a job he enjoyed and it's neat that it's in the same place you work. That must make it even more enjoyable for you too. It sounds like Nickie is doing well too and that's good to hear. It's so very good to hear from you again. I've really missed you! I hope you won't be a stranger anymore....I hope everyone has a great day today!

Reading your temps reminded me of when we lived in Calif...hot.
But today our high should be 60....but a heat wave is coming ( and all the locals will be complaining, tooooo hot cuz Sat. is supposed to get to 79!!!!
If it gets to 80 everybody will go to ER LOL
But seriously, when a body gets acclimated to coolish weather, 79 does seem pretty near tooooo toasty.....but as long as it doesn't go much higher, we will survive....
Tho I doubt you all suffering with 100's are going to be too sympathetic.
We actually have hit the 90's here some years for several days in the summer......but its rare.
I do not relish even thinking about it and feel truly badly for you all.
I get heat headaches, can't get comfortable ( and nobody here has an air conditioner).
But I could go wading in the ocean and it almost always cools way down at night, in the summer when the marine layer comes in.....tho once in a great while it might not....but that too is a rarity. And there is almost always a breeze off the ocean.
One of the nice things about living at the ocean is we don't get mosquitoes.....I think the ocean air and breeze keeps them inland?
And it seems like ticks don't like ocean air either tho in the woods I imagine there are some. We have a lot of elk and deer....they meander in the road in herds, from time to time.
I am so glad you got 100 % financial aid Cindy. That's what we have also. The only thing it does NOT pay for is the radiologist report because he or she is not a doctor of the Providence system.

Wayne and his grandson just came back from a vacation at his mom's mountain cabin in Alpine AZ. That is located in the northeast area. He left a thermometer out in the sun to see how hot it was in the sun and the thermometer read 140*. I have been seeing deer in the area here. I had to stop for a deer that was waiting on the side of the highway like he was at a crosswalk, when I stopped my car then the deer leisurely walked across the highway. Another day five deer got some water from a farmers field and Ron had to stop the truck on the highway as they were one by one jumping over a fence, crossing the highway and going into another field. That was fun to watch. Lee, good to read that you and your family are doing well.

That's the way ours is too. Pays for everything except things like radiology. I sure wish we lived where you are. Those temps sound heavenly! But then I'd miss the snow.... and the fall, and so many other things too lolWayne and his grandson just came back from a vacation at his mom's mountain cabin in Alpine AZ. Seems like a lot of folks are seeing the wildlife lately. That must have been neat watching them jump over the fence like that! Jenn had a deer almost hit her car the other day when it suddenly decided to cross the street. Thankfully she was able to stop. Then the day before that, Bruce was riding his motorcycle and almost ran into a big black bear who had decided to cross the street. Shortly after that, he played chicken with a skunk! He won though and got by the skunk without getting sprayed LOL. But we've seen deer around our house lately too along with all kinds of other critters. One of our neighbors said that they've been seeing our neighborhood bear, but thankfully he hasn't been to our house. although if he did come here, he'd have no problem with the bird feeder as it's on the ground right now as the wire that it was hanging from broke the other day. Bruce still has to fix that, but he's been too tired after work this week so far. Maybe this weekend.

Barbara, your cool deer story reminded me of an experience my sister told me just last week. She saw a huge buck fixing to cross the highway, so she stopped and so did the rest of the traffic. She said this buck was the biggest deer she'd ever seen (and we grew up around them all our lives). Anyway, this buck stepped up onto the highway and just stood there, blocking the road. Then he looked back over his shoulder and snorted. Then several smaller deer came trotting across the road. When they all got safely on the other side, the buck followed behind them, and they went on their way. She said it was the coolest thing she ever saw. The way she told the story is much like the way I write. I felt like I was there, watching all this with her. I told her that it would have been so awesome if she'd recorded that whole thing. That would be something that would have gone viral! I just love God's creatures.
That sounds so refreshing at the thought of wading in the ocean. I have been in both the Pacific and the Atlantic. Kinda' scary, back then though, because I was a child. But, I've waded in Lake Michigan, many times and loved it. Especially at night. (long before it got so polluted) I love swimming and fishing at night. It's just the peacefulness of it. ...oh...and no people around. lol
Anna, there's something I keep seeing posted on social media and wondered about you, and others who have trouble keeping cool in this heat. I wondered if you'd seen it, or ever thought about trying it. I'll post a couple of links to it, for you. It's a homemade air conditioner, that you can make with a cooler, a small fan and PVC elbow pipe. If I had to do this, I'd keep several milk jugs filled with water, in the freezer and just keep changing them out, so I didn't have to keep buying ice. Besides, it will make the ice last longer, than just plain block ice.
This one is made, using a styrofoam cooler. If fingernails on a chalkboard unnerves you, you might want to turn down the sound, when he's cutting it. LOL
This one is done with a plastic cooler, if you have one you can spare, or can buy one for this purpose. But, in this video, he's using battery and solar energy to power the fan.

Good to see you again, Lee. Thanks for the update on your family.
Been a busy week for me. Hubby's brother and his wife visited us from Oklahoma City. They rented a guest room here at the retirement center. Yesterday we drove to our daughter's house in Ft. Worth so they could see her and her family. I enjoyed the visit but driving there and back was stressful. Many of the roads are being widened (they definitely need it!) so there were many delays, zigzags on the roads and big bumps.
It's hot here even though we've had some cloudy weather. Hugs to everyone.

Cheryl, we will be North Louisiana.. if God wants us there.
We just aren't sure what we are going to do .. we want a change.. and try a new place... but we have NEVER left WA.. ever.. even when we were first married, we only lived in Eastern Wa for a little bit. We have always lived South of Seattle.. all our lives.

Well hello everyone! Been reading through, catching up on the last week's goings-on with you all. It is GREAT having Colou and Lee back in here. Welcome home you two - you've been missed! Colou I saw on FB that you had a birthday (yesterday?), so happy birthday. I'm not good about posting birthday wishes on FB any more, but hope you did have a nice day.
Lee how wonderful that Chelsea wants to adopt a school-aged child. She must be an awesome teacher, and will be a great mom too! And you'll be a "great" grandmother!!
Anna, I've been wondering how you're faring in this heat wave. I don't know how far you live from Phoenix, but when we were there last week I think it got up to 109 on Friday. The earlier part of the week it wasn't bad at all, but it got hotter each day, and by the end of that week they were predicting 120 for this week, so we were glad to get home before that hit!!
Lee, I appreciated your comment on FB about when you worked at Sky Harbor Airport. I specifically thought about the men who work out on the tarmac, as our plane was waiting to take off on Saturday. Glad to hear that when it gets that hot, they don't let the planes take off.
Being from the SE, I'm used to hot temps and high humidity and was looking forward to the dry heat of Arizona, but now that I've experienced it, it was still awful, and it only took a couple of days for my skin to become horribly dry and rough. Soon as I'd put on lotion it was as if my skin sucked it right in and two minutes later was as dry as before. After experiencing that I can FINALLY be grateful for our high humidity -- at least my skin stays softer!
However a good thing about the low humidity seems to be that we felt better. I didn't have any headaches during that week, and John didn't have any joint pain like he's been having (due to the infusions he's been getting for the Crohn's.) So maybe I'd take the dry skin in exchange for no pain!!
Anyway we had a wonderful time in Arizona! Thank you all for praying for our flight; it was terrifying in many ways (take-off and landing), but John thought I did fine. If he thought that, then I put on a good show because I was quite frightened on the inside! But I tried to act brave!
We got into Phoenix about midnight (Eastern time) on Sunday and had Southern Baptist Convention things Monday-Wednesday, then on Thursday John and I drove up to Sedona, and on Friday we just wanted to drive around Phoenix and look at neighborhoods and see how things differ in the SW from the SE. We also visited the Wrigley Mansion. All of that was so interesting. Most everything outdoors is brown, but very beautiful in its own way. And the people were very nice!
The first 3 nights we stayed in a hotel right across from the airport and got to watch planes landing about every 2 minutes; that was fun. For the last 3 nights we went to a different hotel closer to Tempe and that was a neat area to explore (Lee, we avoided that place you warned us about - Fort Apache??)
We flew back on Saturday and the trip took most of the day because we had to "give back" the three hours we'd gained when we went over. We got home about 9 pm Saturday night and by then the Dramamine that I'd taken to relax me on the flight (which didn't) had kicked in and I was OUT until about noon on Sunday (therefore skipped church).
On Monday I had to go with Daniel to college orientation up in Clemson, SC, so again on Tuesday I crashed and slept a good bit.
So... just a little summary of the week, and thanks again for the prayers.

Leigh, nice to read how you spent your time in AZ. That was a long time to be in an airplane, I would have been nervous also, but it sure must be nice to be home after being gone for a week.
Cheryl, thanks for sending the video of the home made AC. I will show it to Ron and if he doesn't put in another window AC that we have then I will make the home made AC.

Kel, now that you explained that you've never lived outside of Washington State, I can understand your apprehension, about leaving your home. Are you choosing Louisiana for employment reasons? You don't have to answer that, I was just curious. After Lorrie just described the heat and dryness in Arizona, I think I've decided that I live in a medium weather state. It's never super cold, sometimes very hot, sometimes not so hot, medium high humidity, but not near as high as some other states I've been to. Our weather can be the same temperature as NW Indiana, where I'm from, but feels about 5 to 10 degrees hotter because of the heat index. I think that has something to do with humidity, but not sure. Maybe someone can help me understand that a little better. We do get some snow, and some years more than others, but last year we got a dusting of snow and that was all......to my pleasant surprise. The year before, I was planting my garden in February! This year, I couldn't start it until the end of April, but waited until the first part of May.........I think. That's good that you might be in the Northern part of Louisiana, away from the majority of the flooding! Did you know that Edwina lives in Louisiana?
I've never been in the PNW, so I can't think of an area that would provide a comparable environment. But, nothing is the same as the place you know and love. If I was not in Kentucky, I'd consider moving to South Carolina. I've been through that state numerous times, and visited many times, since my brother moved there around 25 years ago, and think it's probably THE most beautiful state, I've ever been to. And when he took me to Lake Jocassee, I was sold! A mountain lake is the most beautiful lake I've ever seen, with the crystal clear water. So, clear, you feel like you could drink it. I don't like driving to get there, though, because I don't much care for driving in Tennessee.
Lorrie, I got to thinking about something. I've so often wondered how you can relieve your migraines and have closely paid attention to the remedies that you've tried. Now that you noted that with the dry heat, both you and John benefited greatly from it, I got an idea. Have you thought about finding a place, locally, where you can join that has a sauna? I know that the few times that I've had the pleasure, my arthritis didn't bother me for a while. I know that humidity is bad for joints, and if dry heat helps relieve or prevent your migraines.....that was a 'hmmmmm' moment.
Anna, I'm glad you were interested in the videos. There have been a few times that I thought about that method, but only AFTER, I needed it.
Kel, that's neat that Barbara painted for you. Can we see the paintings?
Lorrie, it was neat to read about your time in Arizona. It's a place that I'd like to visit, some day, but not to live there. That kind of heat is something I don't think I can handle. And that's coming from someone who prefers the heat, over the cold. I can't handle the Florida heat, either. Now THAT is some high humidity!! I've gotten sick, almost every time I've gone to Florida, and I was there a LOT, when I drove truck. There was one place that I liked, though. It was a little hide-away truck stop, that reminded me of Gilligan's Island, with a outdoor hut type bar where they made some great food, had good people, and it's back when I still drank, so a few beers was on my menu, because I was on a weekend layover. I'd skip the beers now, of course, but the food and the ambience made it nice to be away from the hussle and bussle of the Florida hassle.
Margie, that was so nice that your family was able to rent a room where you live, so they could be close by, for their visit. That must be really awful about the traffic on the way to Ft. Worth. I do remember the roads always needing some work, so when it's done, it might be a blessing. Traffic is so heavy in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, so I can imagine your not liking that drive.
OK, I feel like I'm babbling, so I'll submit this post and get on to bed. Finally getting sleepy. Please forgive me if I've missed anyone.

I like living here where I live but if for some reason I had to move then I plan on living in a small tow behind RV, and living in North Dakota in the summer and AZ in the winter, north of Phoenix in the Prescott area and move east also to the Alpine area and join Escapees where I could go with group travel while in AZ, group travel with only women or there is a Christian group to travel together, I would maybe be on my own when in North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Having lived all over the US, and enjoying most of the places I lived, I still like NH the best of all of them. I guess if I had to move though, I'd probably move to Colorado where the weather is similar to here. I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and loved it then. Then we moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in the panhandle and I loved it there too at the time. Now I couldn't take the humidity or the heat though. I love the southern states, but just couldn't handle the humidity anymore. I think I've been in just about every one of them lol. Bruce and I have talked about buying an RV and living in it and just traveling around to wherever we felt like going. I don't think I could really handle it and doubt it would ever happen though. It's fun to think about it though.
I hope you all have a wonderful day today in the Lord!

Cindy: we do get snow most years maybe 3 days out of the winter and maybe up to 1 inch ( tho that's rare) and only once did it stay on the ground for 3 days....but only once. Plus we have trees in Or. to beat the drum, so we do get a fall, but I agree nothing beats a New England fall! I can say that as I was born and grew up in Conn. so I have seen both the East and left coast :-)
Ke;: Thank you soooooooo much for the sweet compliment. Oh but, I never heard if your daughter's friend liked her painting of her dog?
Well don't you guys hurt yourself laughing..... but we just got a 'HEAT' advisory for Oregon coast...
Yes..... it will be in the 80's to low 90's, for Sat.
It went on to say stay indoors, drink lots of fluids, etc etc. ( the advisory was just posted on weather underground).
I am thinking part of the reason we are having this advisory is the temp combines with high humidity.
But coast folks are not used to that heat, so the rapid increase is significant for us.
We will be back in the 70's Sunday and upper 60's on Monday.
But I always hated to 'dry' heat.....it always felt like the air was trying to grab every bit of moisture from my body.

Hi all, Thanks for the warm welcome back!
Its been in the 80's here too but we had so much snow there's still some on the mountains. The lakes are really high from the runoff which is really great because we have had such a bad drought for a long time here. It'll take a few more winters like this last one to get us back to normal.
Lorrie when you mentioned the post on Facebook I was like I don't remember anyone named Leigh on Facebook but then I realized Leigh and Lorrie are the same person! lol I lived in AZ for 21 years before moving here to Colorado. As brown as it is there now, its not near as bad as when I first moved there from Illinois. They've done a lot bringing in plants and trees from back east. In fact people used to go there to get away from seasonal allergies and that doesn't work so well anymore because of o bringing the greenery there. When we left there I didn't want to leave but I've been back twice since then, both times in the summer, and I've decided I'm staying right here in CO!
Well I posted a few days ago on Facebook about our truck breaking down. Its the transmission. Going to cost somewhere between 1500 and 2000 to fix. We can either buy a used one and pay to have it put in with no guarantee that it will work or if it does that it will last. OR we can buy a new one and have a neighbor we know who is retired and likes to work on vehicles for free. You buy the parts and he does the work. He's just looking for something to do and likes to help people out. He's a retired navy chaplain who worked with the sailors who had drug and alcohol issues. Anyway its going to cost the same amount so guess which way we're going? Either way its going to be awhile as we have our vacation coming up next week and our washer decided it was turned of all our dirty clothes and wasn't going to wash them anymore so we had to get a new one of those. It'll take a few months to pay that off.
Our vacation is going to Denver comic con and then going to Co Springs for the fireworks. We were going to go to the Air Force Academy for the fireworks but they quit doing them a few years ago. We are meeting up with some friends of Chelseas' that we really like too and we are going with them I guess to where they go for fireworks. Last year we went to CA and got to see Lulu and Ron again for a little while. We all went deep sea fishing but us ladies I think spent more time sleeping than fishing! lol We had a really good time though visiting with Lulu and Ron. We did decide though next time we go to CA we are not packing so many things to do on one week. That just wore us out way to much.
Stan's going in for a Cat scan on Monday on his lungs and then we meet with the pulmonologist on Thursday. The doctor comes here to the valley once a month from Pueblo where we saw him the first time last month. He wanted a full pulmonary test done but there has been an issue with that so we will find out what he wants to do about that. He said we can get it done at the hospital here but the hospital said their machine isn't working right. So he may end up going to Pueblo to get that done. It was interesting when we saw him last time. He was explaining things about pulmonology in very simple terms until I said that our youngest daughter had Cystic Fibrosis and he was like "Oh so you know more than most people about these things." and then started talking in a more technical way realizing we understood a lot more than most people when they first walk into his office. He wasn't being rude or anything he just assumed we didn't know a lot and was being very thorough. Stan and I both like him, he seems like a decent doctor.
Talk to you all later.
