(((Cheryl))), I am so sorry you're in that extreme pain and am praying for you right now.
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was good. We got back from my sister's in Virginia on Friday night around 9 p.m. and that long drive (there and back in 2 days) pretty much wiped me out for Saturday. Sunday was a busy day and now, Monday, I'm trying to wake up because I have to go to church this morning and do some work there for an hour or so. Then must get some groceries and head back to straighten the house, because my mother is driving over to visit for a couple of days. Looking forward to that!
What are your plans for this holiday week?

Cheryl, sending up prayers for you, about the add blockers, I don't have one yet, cause Ron changed the software on this puter, I don't have my smilie pad yet either... , but the adds here are not like other places, it's only that one section at the top. no pop ups...
I'm up for work, but got tomorrow off, didn't want to use a vacation day, cause I'll need it at Christmas. But we have Jazzy from 9am Tuesday to 9am wed. we've been joking that hell froze over cause Jodi is actually working with Matt on time with Jazzy. I believe it's cause we didn't send in the cops and CPS when they were in between apartments. we are planning on going to the Huntington Beach parade, then here for fireworks in the neighborhood. Ron has invited his sister Lisa over, so maybe we will BBQ something..our Netty and Justin are also coming over..so it will be a good day...but I have to get up and head for work on Wed morning...ugh....
on my walk with Boy yesterday, I thought of you all.....

Have a nice visit with your mother!

I've been praying for YEARS for her heart to soften, and share your grandbaby with you all and Matt. Maybe this is the start of something wonderful? Have fun with everyone on the 4th celebration! I hope you get your smilie pad back.

Sorry I missed you all yesterday, it's been another crazy long weekend for us. We did our shopping on Saturday, went to a total of 6 stores before we were done, and that more then did me in! Sunday Jenn and her family were here and then on Monday,Bruce had the day off and we had Elijah and Grace here from 9:15 until 4:45pm. He has today off too, but we're both just relaxing today. Everyone! Just popping in to wish everyone a happy 4th weekend.......although the 4th isn't even until Tuesday. I guess y'all celebrate this weekend? Everything is just another day to me anymore.
Lee, I love to watch Scorpion, too. It's a very well thought out story line. Well.....lol...I guess it would have to be well thought out, huh? Being that the characters depict the smartest young people in the world. I've actually met people like them. Smart, but socially ignorant. But, it's entertaining. lol
I'm glad that Stan is alright now. That had to have been terrifying for you. Yes, it IS always something. It always will be, until the Lord takes us Home. With Ed, we spent SO much time in the hospital, for such a long span of time that when they asked ME if I'd had any surgeries, my brain was so fuddled with pain, that I couldn't remember! Then when the puzzled doc re-phrased his question, and asked if I'd ever had my appendix removed, I said "I still have all my parts". LOL, I couldn't remember if I'd actually said that out loud, but it's in my medical transcripts.
How did Stan's scans turn out? Have you gotten the results back yet? Awesome that you got a brand new washer! Congrats to Chelsea for the new to her car!
Anna, geometry? You're more brave than I am. lol Have fun with it, though. Let us know how it turns out for you. I pray that the Lord will rain down on those fires.
Leigh, have fun visiting with your sister! How long do you get to stay in Virginia?
Margie, that's neat what the neighbor did to celebrate the holiday. That's an inventive, neat idea to use doll houses to decorate with.
I wish I could give y'all a breakdown of my comings and goings, but I really can't. Nothing happening here. Unless you count the tomato worms, I had to pull off of my plants a couple of days ago. I went out to check on them and noticed the plants looked like the leaves and tops had been cut off. I knew better though and started checking around and sure 'nuf, found the culprit. And then kept spotting them all over the place. I pulled off 8 of them. Big ones too. It was pretty gross. I've never had that problem before, so it did surprise me.
I can't post any pictures of my gardens, here, anymore. Or any other pictures, for that matter. Photobucket has decided that my pictures are not important, and has blocked me from getting to them, unless I pay them for my own pictures. Yeah, you might say they are holding them hostage. I tried to get into the site one day, and it said that if I don't remove my pop-up blocker, then I would not be allowed to access the site. So, I removed my pop-up blocker for them, and them only, and now there are so many pop-ups that it locks up the site and I STILL can't get to my pictures. These are pictures that date back to the beginning of Fresh-Hope! THOUSANDS of them! They claim that if I pay them, I won't get pop-ups. I might end up having to pay for one month, just to pull off all my photographs, delete them from that site and canceling it altogether. Is this happening to anyone else?
Also, the last few times that I've come here, I'm getting the same type of thing. It has a banner at the bottom that has a stop-sign that won't go away until I click on it and it wants me to remove my pop-up blocker here too. So, if I suddenly don't post anymore, you'll know what happened.
This is what FH has on it, the ads change when you change the page, but there's no more than this and they don't pop up or get huge. This is at the top of the board now:This is at the bottom of the board now:
The only way I can get rid of the ads is to pay for it and I can't do that. I'm sorry. Photobucket on the other hand has tons of pop ups that are very annoying and they've changed so much that it's much harder to navigate to what you want now. I've stopped paying them as well, but still use them as I did for these graphics I just posted.
You may have a virus on your computer, or if you have the add on, "thumbnail zoom plus" like I do, you may have gotten your mouse on top of one of the ads here which causes them to kind of pop up and look a lot bigger. You just have to move your mouse off the ad which it sees as a thumbnail picture to make it go back to normal, or you can turn it off while here.
Sorry you're having the problems, but I hope it won't stop you from posting. We love you and want to hear from you!
I can not use photobucket anymore, but I don't much care, I did not have any photos that were important to me on there. Wow you had a lot of photos at photobucket! There must be another place like photobucket for people to use but I don't know about any such place. I did not see a warning from photobucket that they planned to do what they did. I was wondering what pop up blocker that you use. I just now was given a pop up blocker site from my worship chat site, the name of it is adblockplus.org. I saved it to show it to Ron to see if he wants to use it. As I see changes on the internet sometimes I feel like it is just for young people to use and I am getting to old to want to keep up with it. When my lap top quits working I might just buy a cheap crome book computer. If I run short on money, the internet will be the first thing to go, if it is up to me to decide. I can get free wifi at the library. Ron and I went to google earth and looked at route 66 street view, to see what it looks like now days, almost all building are empty, made me think about the advancement of e commerce, especially Amaz*n. The teacher for the geometry is a Christian on the worship site that I go to, he said he could teach it so easy that even a person that was learning challenged could learn, and working with numbers will help to open the mind to learning in general, for people who shy away from math. Were the tomato worms large green worms? That is what happen to Donna's tomato plants last summer, I think she said the tomato plants were destroyed overnight, she was upset about that. I have seen those large lime green color worms around here. I've heard of that pop up blocker and as I recall it's a good one. Kel: Thanks for letting me know! Maybe you said something on facebook? I only get there every now and then....Leonard goes everyday.....but if he saw the post, he forgot to tell me. I just always worry a little....I want people to be happy with their dog portrait.
Cheryl....those are icky worms ugh!!! Leonard posted on facebook this cute short video of a swan, that 'weeded'....very carefully, I might add, it did not pull up the plants the gardener wanted, only weeds and sticks....and I suspect....icky worms!!!
I want that swan!!! Well he was a black swan, but he was adorable and such a good worker!!!
Kel: Does that mean you are staying in Or. then? I saw that and loved it too! I like a lot of the stuff he posts!I meant to get here earlier and wish Daniel a Happy Canada Day. That's today! I'll send him a message. Had more rain this morning. I cleaned our patio this afternoon - swept up the plant debris, re-arranged the few houseplants I now have. Looks like we could get more rain. We've had a ton of rain last week, but it's thankfully over for now. It's been so neat because every week since before summer started even I've been praying against any severe weather for our area, and even though the weather man says we're going to get it, it always seems to turn away from us at the last minute! God is so fantastic! So we got the rain, but no severe thunderstorms or tornadoes etc!I hope you do get more rain, Margie. Well.........unless you've gotten too much, lately. I can't remember now. It's raining, here, today. It hasn't rained for a few days, so it's welcomed. I just don't like it if it rains every day, like it was there for a while.
I picked a few of my big bell peppers, last night. I stuffed two of them and baked them. Seemed to take me all evening to do that, because I can't stand in the kitchen for very long and have to go sit down. Usually, I just make a bowl of cereal, or just eat some cucumbers for supper. Not eating well now. Well, I did eat the last of my spaghetti sauce from my freezer the other night. That was enjoyable, and not much preparation involved. Heat and eat meals come in pretty handy these days. I need to make more of that sauce. But, I have to pace it in the course of a few days. I cooked up some ground beef with peppers, garlic, onions, mushrooms, fresh basil and other Italian spices. That was all I could manage. It's in the fridge. I'm moving a bit slower today, so tonight, if I have enough strength in my legs, without too much pain, I might be able to get the tomatoes and sauce going in my stock pot and add that hamburger mixture, I already cooked. Then I can sit down for 2 hours and let that simmer. The hard part is going to be bagging it. I don't have Ed to help me, now, so I have to figure out a way to do it by myself. I have been using one of my bar stools to sit on, in the kitchen. That has been helping me a lot. But, I don't have 4 hands and the two that I have, don't like to work for me. Ed was going to make us one of those stands that holds up plastic bags, but I never saw the point. I had him to help me, and I really enjoyed working in the kitchen, with him.
Barbara, that swan sounds like something I'd love to have around too!
I can't stand any more either. Or walk or course. Not even as much as I could last year which wasn't much. I discovered that I now have degenerative scoliosis in my lower back. I saw this big curve in the mirror when checking for ticks. So I asked my doc to look at my back because I figured that could well be the cause of all the extra pain I've had when standing or walking. He freaked out when he lifted my shirt up, and said, uh...yeah, that would be it! So great... I don't know what it means yet, but have a suspicion that I may well end up in a wheel chair. I "can" stand and walk, at least for a very little bit, but after a minute or so, I have to have something to hold onto and the pain gets so bad that I simply can't stand it. This past weekend has been very hard on me physically and I'm paying for it since before the kids left yesterday. I've gotta do something, but don't know what. So I'm going to ask my doc to send me to an orthopedic doctor and I've also made an appointment with our rheumatologist. I figure between the two of them they should be able to tell me what to expect and what I can do about it. Of course, the RA also decided to flare and cause my eyes to start hurting from being outside when we were shopping on Saturday, and that's still going on too which doesn't help any either. Do you have days like this? Everything I want to go somewhere I have to put hair spray on my hair so it will not look like this. lol Yep, my hair's always been like that. I don't use hairspray, I just use conditioner to keep it down. That's always worked for me, at least lately anyway. But then my hair isn't as thick as it used to be either. I guess I should not have done so much in the last 3 days. I woke up screaming from the pain. You and me both Cheryl. But I knew it when I was doing it, but there's some things that just have to be done whether I "can" or not. Just like you. I already prayed for everyone today and prayed the Lord would relieve your pain, so I hope you're doing better by now. (((Cheryl))), I am so sorry you're in that extreme pain and am praying for you right now.

I know you'll enjoy having your Mom there though. on my walk with Boy yesterday, I thought of you all..... Bruce had Monday and today off and has to go to work tomorrow too. It's been nice having him home. I'm sure you've enjoyed it too and I know you'll enjoy having Jazzy. That's wonderful that the Mom is working with Matt! (((Cheryl))), I am so sorry you're in that extreme pain and am praying for you right now.

Where is your neuropathy Cheryl? I have it in my legs and feet, but haven't ever head of it being in anyone's back... and for some reason I thought it was your back that was hurting, but I probably assumed wrong. Well, wherever it is, the Lord knows and I know He will help you persevere and will relieve your pain as needed, because I always ask Him to!
I hope everyone has a great day in the Lord today!

Cheryl and Cindy - praying for both of you.
Had a big storm at 2 this morning with lots of wind. 2 of my potted plants on the patio were blown over and the potting soil was blown all over. And I just swept the patio a few days ago! In the courtyard beyond, a potted plant and a table chair were blown over. A friend of mine who lives on the 3rd floor said that she saw tree limbs blowing around in a circular pattern. That's scary.
We celebrated today by going to our favorite restaurant and having lunch with friends. They have big portions so I have plenty for my dinner.

Cindy: I noticed you now have degenerative scoliosis ....I have had a triple scoliosis since I was 12 or 13....not sure the exact date it was.
I too have an S curve and certain part of my spine go in where they should go out and visa versa plus, one side goes around further to the front....
The strange thing is each radiologist or e-ray tech...each label it different...from 'mild' to severe.....that has been true all my life....it's odd how differently it is read...always a triple but from each extreme.
But tho my lower back with the arthritis etc. hurts also my neck is similar to my back....
flatten where it should curve, a congenital curve
( tho I did fall off a jungle gym in 1 st grade in the winter ..... from the top, onto cement
( the bars were all ice, but the teacher let us play on it anyway, and I was hanging by knees upside down from the top bar and couldn't hold because of the ice ( which I discovered too late).
I am thinking that didn't help much LOL
I sometimes wonder tho.....if perhaps those different reading were in fact, my spine actually changing...from bad to worse and back again?
Probably not......
but if it can continue to get worse, I could never understand why it could not go the other other way .....and reverse itself.... at least to some extent....by improving the strength of the muscles etc.

Sounds like everyone has had a nice week. My sister emailed me a fireworks show, that she videoed that was close to her house. It was fun watching it, and the closest I got to seeing any, this year. I can't get out, but I did try, but couldn't find anywhere close by, until I got home and heard it, just beyond the trees. Getting out, takes too much out of me, so I just stayed home.
Cindy, no. The neuropathy is not in my back. I have bulging discs in my back. Remember? My right thigh is where the neuropathy has been for YEARS. But, now it is in both thighs, and both feet. I was diagnosed with nerve damage, from Sciatica, back in 1997. There's more, but it really is for the pain forum.

My Orthopedic doctor told me years ago that I had a very slight scoliosis in my spine, but I couldn't see it even though he pointed it out on the xray. I was sure though that he said it was at the top of my spine, not at the bottom where I have it now. I guess I'll find out eventually when/if I get to see him again.Sounds like everyone has had a nice week. My sister emailed me a fireworks show, that she videoed that was close to her house. That's right. I'm sorry, when I'm in a lot of pain, my brain doesn't do so well at remembering or functioning at all for that matter.... I hope you're doing better now.
That was nice of your sister to send you the video. I'm glad you got to see it that way at least.
We don't bother with the fireworks anymore and haven't for years now. Usually others in the park set them off so all we have to do is look away from the TV (or in my case, my book) and look out our window and we can see them. That makes it pretty nice for us

we live just 2 blocks from the beach and Seaside puts on a big firework display ever year ( our small town triples at the very least with people coming to the beach to see the fireworks ( and they bring tons as well).
The city does a really big professional display each year, and we can see it easily right outside in front of our door....no need to go to the beach with the thousands who come.

The town next to us always has what they call the pots and pans parade and then a bunch of fireworks. It's only about 5 minutes down the road from us. I used to let the kids go there when they were teenagers and they had lots of fun. Then another town, that's much bigger and is about 20 minutes away, put on a huge display each year. It was like a carnival during the day there and then at night the fireworks. We all enjoyed that too, but ever since the terror attack at the Boston Marathon, they've stopped doing it and then some of the other larger towns followed suit. Funny though, they stopped for one year and started again two years later and when they started having the show again, the other town, where my daughters live, stopped doing their show "because of terrorists"! It's crazy lol

Hello everyone! I haven't had a chance to even check in let alone post after reading everyone's posts. I checked in for just a minute the other morning but was too tired to post.
It sounds like everyone has been busy! I had to take my car in Monday and have it serviced. The place I take it is about an hour away but it took me longer because of road construction. I left about half and hour early but was just a few minutes late for the appointment!
As for Tuesday, Larry and I enjoyed a quiet day. We both watched the Macy's parade on TV and really enjoyed it. It has become too much of a hassle for us to go to the city park and enjoy the fireworks. So much traffic!!! So we just stay home and watch the beautiful display on TV!
On Wednesday I had to be at a heart hospital for a heart cath. Our son, Jason, took Larry and I up there. This is the first heart procedure I have ever had but it wasn't bad at all. Everyone was so nice and did their best to make me comfortable before and after the procedure. It was done as an out-patient procedure so I got to come home afterwards. My dr. didn't find ANYTHING---no blockages--nothing in the procedure!! Praise the Lord!! Something else I had asked the Lord for and that was to have everything done thru my arm instead of my leg and groin area. When I was in the operating room I spoke to the RN about my worries and he told me my dr. preferred using the arm instead of the groin area!!! God knew my concerns and answered my prayers!! Praise the Lord!
And finally, Larry had to go back to the VA to see the physician that did his cataract surgery. I was not up to going so he went by himself. I don't like that but I was just not up to the trip. And, I also found out Tuesday when my daughter, Lisa, from North Carolina called me, that she will be starting the trip home this Saturday!! Talk about surprised and excited!! I didn't know she would be coming home again this year. She came home on Spring Break in April. And I thought that would be it!! I have some cleaning to do before she gets here. But I am not going to wear myself down cleaning. I want to be up and going by the time she gets here.
I need to go to church and get my work done there. It seems there is always something to do!! I was suppose to have retired in 2005 but haven't found it yet!! I think I will like it if I am able to finally get there!! Lol!!
May God touch the hearts of those who are hurting and encourage with His Spirit that these might be lifted up in the Presence of the Lord! And may the ones who need a physical touch be blessed by the Lord and feel the relief from all pain by the gentleness of His Touch!! God Bless!!

Cindy, the friends we ate lunch with are friends we knew before we moved. They didn't live in our neighborhood though, just from around this area.
I went to exercise class this morning and returned a book to the library. I read this afternoon - an older book called The Christmas Shoes. It's based on a song by the Newsboys.

Hi all!
Well we had a great time in Denver at Comic con. For those who have never been to a sci fi/comic con. its a lot of fun. They have comic book writers and artists and actors and actresses from sci fi/ comic book and fantasy tv shows and movies. they come and have what they call panels where they talk to the fans and answer questions. They also do autographs and photo ops (you get to have your picture taken with them) that you can pay for. They also do cosplay contests, basically costume contests, most people either full on dress up as their favorite character or at the very least wear t-shirts for their favorite fandoms. There's also a merchandise floor where you can buy all kinds of things related to comic books (including comic books lol) and sci fi/fantasy genres. Mostly I go to see all the costumes and the panels. I buy some of the merchandise for souvenirs but I've only ever gotten one autograph and I've been going to these things for over 20 years. lol I'm a nerd but not that much of a nerd. One thing I really like about Denver comic con is that its done by and benefits a program called Pop Culture in the Classroom and its about using pop culture in the classroom to help educate and engage the kids. They even have panels for teachers that they can attend and get college credit and re-certification points for their teachers license. And the con is family friendly. No cussing in the panels, no overtly revealing costumes and no political talk.
Seven of Nine, guess who I got to see there? Captain Janeway! She's the one I got the autograph from. You can see her full panel on youtube. You can't see us but we were four rows from the front on the left when looking towards the stage. It was a pretty good panel too.
We ended up coming home late Tuesday as we were all tired and didn't like the hotel we were staying at in Co. Springs. Chelsea says we have what is called "con Crud" where you get either sick and/or extremely tired after a con due to coming off all the adrenaline that keeps you going all weekend. So we came home early.
Stan's doing okay. They canceled his appointment till the end of the month because they weren't able to get all the tests done in time. He goes in tomorrow for a cardiac test. He also has to get his oxygen monitored while he sleeps tonight, we'll do it here at home. He seems to be doing as well as can be expected, he just complains that he's tired all the time.
Chelsea and I took all 3 of her cats to the vet today to get their shots. She has to have that all updated for the fostering program. She had a meeting with her caseworker right before we left last weekend and when she told him where we were going he told her "Man your foster kid is going to love you!" lol

God Bless!! What a wonderful inspiring post to start my day with Colou, thank you! It's wonderful how the Lord took care of all your concerns and answered your prayers! He's so very good to us. I love it when He shows me that He answered my prayers even before I knew to pray them I'm so glad that the procedure showed that there were no blockages in your heart, that's great news! And even better is that you'll have your daughter home soon! Praise God! Thank you so much for your prayer for us too. Bless you!You sure sound busy Colou

I want my rocking chair!!! I wouldn't mind a rocking chair once in a while myself LOL, but usually just when I'm tired or need a vacation for a little while. I'd go nuts if I didn't have something to do. Cindy, the friends we ate lunch with are friends we knew before we moved. They didn't live in our neighborhood though, just from around this area. That's nice that you're able to stay connected with them. It sounds like you might actually live a little closer to them now than you did before.... I've read that book and of course have heard the song. It's a wonderful story. In fact, I think they made a movie out of it. At least I seem to remember seeing one.Hi all! I'm not into sci fi hardly at all anymore, although I was big time for most of my life.
It's good to hear that Stan's doing ok. Hope his cardiac test goes well too.
We have to get our cats up to date on their shots too, but I can't figure out how we're going to do it as Bruce has to work most days that they're open. I keep hoping our town will sponsor a vet clinic for the shots as that would be a lot easier.
I had a LOT of work to do yesterday, but my daughter came over with the kids. They were only going to be here for about 20 minutes, but Gracie wound up sick and her fever went up to 102.5 so they stayed here most of the day. Poor baby. She's still feeling bad, but the doc says it's just a virus going around. Well, I'd better get busy on all that I didn't do yesterday!
Have a good day all!

Yes, there was a Christmas Shoes TV movie but I haven't seen it.
Our son came to see us and worked on our computers. It was great to see him. Hot here - another typical Texas summer. I'm going to church here at the center tomorrow because the couple singing are really good.
Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday.

Poor Gracie is still really sick. She's been sleeping since last Thursday, not eating hardly anything, and coughing a lot. The docs insist it's a virus. Her fever was 102 up till yesterday when it finally started going down and seems to be gone now, but she still has all the other symptoms. I sure hope she starts feeling better soon!

I am somewhat getting used to the summer heat, I am always slow to be able to get used to the heat, what concerns me is the UV rays coming from the sun, my dogs don't want to be outside in the sun this summer and I have read from other peoples comments that their dogs and chickens are acting the same way, staying in the shade more than usual. There has been a birds nest in the grill of our truck for a few weeks now and I can finally see a baby bird in the nest. I am glad that the two times I went close to the nest that the baby bird was sleeping. By the time we do get to use the truck again the battery may have lost it's charge and need to be put on a battery charger. It is a blessing to see the baby bird.

Praying for your strength as well Thanks Barbara. She seems to be a tiny bit better, but we're still waiting for her to feel well enough to even want to play instead of just sleeping; or to eat. She's lost a lot of weight which isn't good. I don't think I'll ever get used to it. I need to go weed my garden but I'm going to wait till Friday when it's supposed to be a whole lot cooler, like a high of 72. That I can deal with. That's so neat that you got to see the baby bird! I sure wish I could see where our birds nests were, but they're all too high up in the trees. I'm saying a prayer for Gracie, right now! Thanks Cheryl, I appreciate it hon. Her fever is coming and going now, but at least it's not constant anymore. Poor Jenn is going nuts because there's really nothing she can do other than try and keep her comfortable.
Bad news: Christopher left the rehab program. His girlfriend who's a drug addict, and Satan won this round, but God will win in the end!

Good Morning, all!! It is a bright sun-shiny day and already very hot and uncomfortable! I don't get out much except to walk my dog. And, because he is used to the air-conditioned house he doesn't take long and heads right back to the house!
Well, Lisa pulled out this morning on her way back to North Carolina. She will more than likely spend the night somewhere in Tennessee. It is such a long drive it is hard to make it in one day. She and her husband is separated and have been over a year. She has moved out and shares an apartment with another woman. My grandson still lives at home and will be a senior this year. He moved with her. But she has a good job and is looking forward to going back to work when school starts. I don't think she is ready for her son to graduate from high school. He is the youngest and she is having a little bit of trouble with letting him go. He has been in ROTC since the ninth grade and will be going into the Navy directly from high school. I don't look for her and her husband to get back together. Lisa cried and prayed for 2 years before this happened and has resolved now this is the way it has to be.
Cindy, I am so sorry that Christopher has left re-hab. But I agree with you! Christopher doesn't know it yet but one day the Lord will draw him in and deliver him!
I fixed hamburgers last night for supper and I am glad I did! I had 3 of my children home and it was all unplanned! The only one that wasn't here was my oldest son, Tony. But since he lives about 3 hours away and was working it was impossible for him to be here. We really had a good time! I love when my children get together! There is always so much talking and laughter between them. I love to sit back and just listen to them.
I have to go back to the heart doctor tomorrow. I will find out about my blood work. I really don't have any idea what else the appt will be for. I plan on going into work at the church afterwards. I have several hours of work to do plus pay some bills so I will be there for awhile. But I don't mind. My office has air conditioning so at least I will be comfortable!
As for now, my load of laundry is finished and I need to put that in the dryer. I don't have much planned because I am tired. I did get my new refrigerator! Oh Wow!! I haven't had a new one in absolutely years!! I didn't get one with the drink dispenser in the door but I did get an ice maker. I have never had one so I know I will enjoy it! I am really glad I got it in while Lisa was here. She did most of the work emptying out the old one and even scrubbed the floor where it had set.
I pray all here will feel the Presence of the Lord within your hearts and lives today. May each of you feel the Spirit of God moving at your point of need and know with assurance that you are loved deeply by the Lord! And may we all remember Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is my Strength!

Gracie's on antibiotics now, so we're hoping she'll soon be better, but there's still not a lot of improvement. I think Hulu is one of them.
Well, I'm way behind as usual, so let me get over to the study thread, lol

Good day Colou and ladies We come as we are to the Lord that we may be changed by his grace. Where I live thieves have been stealing mail from people's mailboxes countywide, so far the thieves have not been caught. The thieves don't even close the lid on the mailboxes, just leave them open, it happened where I live to me and my neighbors, but I did not lose any mail that I miss, maybe some junk mail, but it has stopped the mail lady from leaving boxes at the mailbox and people are told to drive to the post office to pick up their boxes, but my husband likes to talk and talks to the mail lady, so she does deliver a box to us if we have one, so we have not had to drive to the post office to get a box.
Sugar ants made a home in my toaster oven and they won't go away, I even cooked with the oven thinking that would kill any hiding inside, but that did not work, so I put the toaster oven outside. I have had it for 3 years and only paid 10 dollars for it, so I want to throw it away, but Ron said no, keep it. The next time I go shopping I am going to see if I can buy a new toaster oven, then once Ron see's the shiny new oven he won't care if I throw the old one away.

That's awful that the thieves are getting away with that. I'm glad you guys don't have to go to the post office but still get yours anyway. That's one of the blessings of having a good relationship with the postman.
I can't imagine how those ants got into your toaster oven, and that you can't be rid of them. That must be frustrating! You sure got a super good deal on it though, but it's a shame that ants would be the cause of you having to get rid of it. I'd be afraid that they'd get into the new one if I didn't first get rid of the ants somehow. I use a spray that's for indoors and outdoors all around my house every year. I think it's called Round up or something like that. I get it from Walmart and it works great. We had lots of ants before I started using it, and now there aren't any. I hope you're able to get rid of yours and that you enjoy your new toaster oven. Bruce really wants to get a toaster oven too, but we just don't have room for one.

Hi all,
Glad Gracie is doing a bit better. Praying she starts getting back to her old self soon.
Its been hitting the 90's here but after dealing with the 110-120's in AZ I'll take the high 80's and 90's without complaint. lol Even if Stan has decided to bake a turkey today!
Speaking of Stan, his COPD kicked in this week. They had to put him on steroids, antibiotics and prescription musinex. We did manage to keep him out of the hospital though. Not quite sure what exacerbated it but there's been a lot of haze around due to the wildfires.
Chelsea went to a picnic today for foster families in our area. She was invited even though she's not finished the process yet so she could meet other parents. Stan and I were supposed to go with but Stan's not quite up to it yet.
Had an interesting encounter at our local Walmart yesterday. Stan was wearing his Star Wars rebels t-shirt and the cashier, a woman 50's tp 60's asked him if he was really a rebel. He said yes and then she looked at my shirt which had a cartoony version of Chewbacca with his arms outstretched and the caption "free hugs". She started laughing, came around the counter and wanted her free hug! I've decided this may not be a good shirt to wear in public. lol Yes I gave her a hug.

Lee: I just read some simple ways that are supposed to get rid of sugar ants....maybe they do maybe not, but nothing to loose and cheap to try:
black pepper (sprinkle on their trails)
vinegar ( put in spray bottle with water)
Trap....get a small box put in maple syrup and peanut butter and they will stick to it
boric acid ( mix with sugar)
add sugar to cornmeal
lemon juice...they don't like the smell (put lemon peels in water in a spray bottle)
Baking soda ( in a jar with sugar) carry it outside when filled with ants
Ground coffee
cayenne pepper, cinnamon, chalk or red chili powder
bleach
cloves
bay leaves ( another smell deterrent)
Anyway, maybe you can try one or two to see if they work?
