Yeah, that's what the farmers almanac said and they've sure been right so far! They also said we'd have some dangerous weather though, so I'm already praying against that! It's another 90 degree day today, but it's supposed to go down to 80 tomorrow and then down to the 70's after that and back to normal for us, at least for a few days.
Bruce got a great surprise yesterday. Our neighbors bought a new riding lawn mower with a bucket so they can use it in the winter. They told him that from now on he wouldn't have to deal with the huge snow piles the plow always leaves in our driveway. On top of that, they gave him their "old" riding lawn mower! First, it's not that old lol, and is in great condition! So now he can ride instead of push when he needs to mow the lawn! What a HUGE blessing! OH, that is so great that he now has a riding mower!

That is a blessing to get a riding lawn mower.
I can not have a garden on the ground here because I live on mostly rock, but where there is soil it has mold in it, some people have soil trucked in, about ten years ago that soil costed 350 dollars a truck load, I don't know what it costs now, but good soil would not be enough. It would be best if a plant had thorns so it could survive. lol
I had a lot of moths in my shed and they made a mess, all the windows need to be cleaned and the table and where ever else I can clean. A few moths are in the home also.

Hello everyone.
Cindy, what a nice surprise for Bruce! That is going to come in handy for him, for sure.
The heat is already so oppressive here; don't know that this is unseasonable for us, because in SC we tend to skip over spring and fall, which only seem to last a week or two. This year, it feels like we skipped winter too, and I keep seeing posts on FB about all the snakes that are out and about due to the warm winter. Apparently copperheads are really bad this year.
You can BE SURE I am watching every step I take outside!
(((Cheryl))), continued prayers and thoughts are with you during this time of grieving your dear Ed. I have also been thinking about Ruthanne - has she been in here lately? I've missed some weeks here & there myself, so may have just missed her, but I do hope she is healing from her surgery and feeling better.
The boy from Daniel's school that died suddenly several weeks ago -- they found out why: caffeine overdose. I'm going to link the news article/video that warns about the use of energy drinks, etc., which are so popular among teens and young adults these days. We ALL need to be aware of the dangers, so please take a look this link so you can be informed:
www.cnn.com/2017/05/15/health/teen-death-caffeine/
Love to everyone else, Anna, Barb, Lulu, Margie (going in alphabetical order... hopefully I haven't missed any other regulars.)

With our two youngest cats though, now they don't stand a chance anymore lol. Hello everyone.

What a shame about the boy. I've heard of that here too. it's been on the news several times warning people to stop drinking that stuff.
I'd be watching every step too if I'd heard about snakes! I don't want anything to do with them! But I won't be going outside hardly at all anymore. I'd say I wouldn't go outside at all if there was a way to get to the car without going outside, but I haven't figured that one out yet lol. That's because I just found out that I'm not crazy and the sun really does make me sick! I explained it in the pain forum:

I am trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible during peak exposure hours. Hi, everyone. I can only muster enough energy to reply to a few posts, and then I'm going to jump into the shower and stay there for a while. lol I spent my whole day, doing yard work in 86+ degree temps. There was a nice breeze that helped, but I drank down 2 big glasses of ice water. By big, I mean quart size. And am still dehydrating. The reason I'm not in the shower, yet, and sitting here at this contraption, is because standing in the shower isn't something I can do, right now. I need to sit. And the seat in the shower will help, but I have to walk all the way to other end of the house. But, my lawn is mowed, trimmed and raked as good as it's gonna get for one day. I am pooped. And sore and oh boy am I gonna pay for this day.........bigtime.
Lorrie, I'm so sorry to hear that the boy died suddenly from caffeine poisoning. Sorry, I know you said overdose, but I truly believe that those horrid drinks are poison. They need to ban them.
I used to speak on the phone, with Ruthanne, daily. But, for this last while, we talk about 2 or 3 times a week. She's doing well. She is well on the mend from her surgery and is actually being able to get out and about, by herself!! I should have left that testimony for her to tell, but since she hasn't been here much, I thought I'd tell you all that, because those of you, who know her well, know that she has anxiety panic attacks, and for a long while was housebound because of it. But, she is managing. She takes it one day at a time and even went to Church on Easter!! I'm so proud of her!
Thank you, for your continued prayers, for me. I still don't know what God has in store for me. Maybe he will just let me go home soon.
The snakes! YES! I haven't seen any, yet.....and now that I wrote that, I will... But, they said that because of all the rains and flooding all over the nation, the snakes are on the move. I want to take a day and go fishing, but not sure I want to contend with water moccasins, more than are usually there. They leave you alone, for the most part, but they are very dangerous and I just don't like 'em.
Cindy, I'm sorry that the sun makes you sick, with the sjogens. I know I spelled that wrong, but don't feel up to looking it up. The sun also affects me too. But, in my case, if I die because of the sun, then I've died living a full life, gardening, landscaping and fishing. It's really all I have left to enjoy. I get welts and bumps on my skin from the sun, and I know what it is, but probably won't do anything about it. I just have to make sure that I don't stay out in it too long, without a hat and long sleeves, and get a burn, because a sunburn on me is open sores.
Kel, congrats on your garden! Need pics!
Anna, those moths can be real problems, from what I've been told. I didn't have them, up North, but here in the south, they say they'll get inside and eat through sweaters and such. That's just awful. When they get in, I chase them until I get them. No bugs allowed in my house. Editing to clarify.......I had them up north, but didn't realize they were a problem, until I moved here.
I know there is probably more posts to reply to, but I think I'm ready to get my butt up and get into that shower. I haven't eaten anything at all today, so maybe I'll scrounge around for a bite. And then just pass out.
So, if I've missed someone, please forgive me.

Hello, everyone. I slept like a LOG. I didn't even wake up until noon today! But, I had to move, and move quickly. My whole body was trying to attack. But, I got out of the bed, without incident, but oh man am I sore. I wanted to do more, today, but I think that all I will accomplish is watering the garden, and doing some cleaning. No I didn't eat last night. Well, unless you count ice cream and a chocolate bar, eating.... LOL

Killian doesn't at all. Dev will have an occasional Red Bull, against what I have said. But she's an adult That Red Bull stuff. Every time I think of it, I remember the time I tried it. I was in a truck stop, on the road, and wanted something different for a change of pace. I bought a can of that stuff. It cost me $4.00!! As I was walking out of the place and back to my truck, I popped the tab off, took a sip and dropped it right into the garbage, next to me. It was SOOOO sweet and awful! I have never entertained the thought of ever trying anything like that, since. If I want caffeine, I'll drink a cup of strong coffee or a Pepsi. And I can't drink too much Pepsi, because my citric acid intolerance is back. Not as bad as it once was, but it's definitely back.

We are moving into landlord's B & B apt for a week while they remodel our bathroom ( the roof leak all winter and the ceiling had black mold, plus the toilet flushing by itself sometimes, and landlord bought a different sink/vanity and light fixture etc. so am trying to clean a wee bit and pack for a week. It will be nice to have the black mold gone and an updated bath ( a little anyway) but it's also kind of a bother to have to pack etc. On the other hand I have been throwing out stuff as I go thru it, so that is a good thing....it kind of pushed me to be a little more organized! But I'd rather spend what energy I have in the yard.
Yup, the sun is having massive solar ejections, probably the largest recorded solar corona, and is in what is called a solar minimum, the earth shields are waaaay down ....meaning way more x-ray exposure and we have to be careful of bad sunburns. We are not having 'global warming' due to man, but due to the sun.

I went grocery shopping the other day. I got organic bananas, had some pineapple, so I made a chocolate banana, pineapple, yogurt smoothie, my favorite. Yet again I have to return a can of coffee, it is not vacuumed sealed, the seal is puffed up, I am not going to remove that seal but return it to the store. We had a skunk in our yard last night, wow he stunk. Now after our friend Art just died, Bucky the guy with the horses, is now in a hospice dying from colon cancer. Only Wayne is left to talk to around here. Well bye for now, I have to go take the brats for a walk, that is my dogs, they have their routine and they like to stick to it.

We are not having 'global warming' due to man, but due to the sun. Hi Barbara. You know that I always believe, when I learn about something and within a few days, it comes up again, with someone else.......that I was meant to know it, so I can relay it to a new person. Well, it's happened again. Is it your landlord who is going to be doing the work? Or is he hiring a plumbing outfit to come in to do it? Reason I ask is because just in the last 2 days, I was told about an experience that you might want to think about. This person told me that they hired someone to put in ductwork for their furnace. They walked around the house and commented on certain things that were in the house. "Oh I like that...oh I'm taking that home with me....etc." The man of the house was at work, and the woman needed to run out for an errand. When she came back, she noticed one of them coming back into the house, from their truck. She didn't notice anything until after they'd left and a wood rocking chair, the guy said he was going to take home with him, was missing! And most of the ductwork was never installed, and it was also gone. She says she doesn't have a clue, what else might be missing, because she "isn't missing it yet". My suggestion would be to take with you, or lock up what valuables you have, and take pictures of the inside of the house. And then if you have any wonder about anything, you can look at your pictures and see if it used to be there. If everything looks the same, all is good. (peace of mind) Things and people in this world are getting worse all the time, and when you least expect it. No this is not paranoia speaking, it's just that if you feel something is missing, it would be good to know where it might be, and you will know. Whether or not you had only misplaced it.

Anna, that smoothie sounds scrumptious! I would return that coffee too. Coffee molds very easily and if it's puffed up, that could be the reason. Mold is deadly for some people. EW, skunks. They can be very annoying. Especially if it's a nice night and you have your windows open for FRESH air. Makes me think about why he sprayed though. They spray when they are threatened by a predator, so maybe that was a good thing.......maybe he chased away a worse creature!
I don't know if I said this already, but my heart felt condolences on the loss of your friend, Art. And now Bucky...... Will you maybe get new neighbors? People who inherited the homes they lived in?
Yes, the furkids like their routine.

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend. We've been having problems with Angel's medicine. She has to take prednisone during the summer months due to allergies, as she has breathing problems from the pollen and the heat. She's been taking it for several years now and it's gotten very easy to give it to her. I always dissolve the tablet in 7 drops of water and then use an eye dropper to put it in her mouth... no problem. It's kind of funny though because at the start of summer, there's days when she doesn't need it, and on those days she'll put up a fight and let me know she doesn't want it. But then when she does need it, she'll come and get me. Like at the start of this month she still didn't need it, but on the 4th, she woke me up at 11:30 at night to let me know that she was having problems breathing so I could give it to her.
The problem began when I got her prescription refilled. They told me at the time that it was from a different company but still the same prednisone. I didn't think anything of it. But when I went to give it to her from the new bottle, she began foaming at the mouth! We both freaked out! I'd never seen that happen before. I quickly looked it up as it was too late to call the vet and discovered that's what happens when a cat is given a pill that's exceptionally bitter tasting. I didn't connect the dots until it happened again the next day. How does a cat go from easily accepting a pill one day, to clawing you to get away and foaming at the mouth the next day? Because the other manufacturer's pill are much more bitter! So I called the pharmacy and they said they'd have to order the old kind as they didn't carry it anymore and would make sure they gave it to me on her next refill. That meant I had to go through 60 pills somehow before getting the good ones. We spent almost 30 dollars on stuff to put the pills in so she wouldn't taste them, but none has worked. Then Saturday as i went to get her pill I saw one that was cut up, and remembered that I'd put a few from her old bottle into the new one when we got it. So I quickly fished out all the ones that were already cut up and set them in a pill box separately. I gave her one of them that day, and of course she was expecting the nasty ones again. Looking back, what happened is kind of funny. Bruce held her and I gave her the pill from the eye dropper as usual, hoping to get it way back in her throat; but she pulled back so it actually landed just behind her teeth. She had her mouth open all ready to spit it out, so I could see it. I didn't realize it, but I was holding my breath, lol, hoping she'd swallow. She just laid in Bruce's arm's with her mouth open like that, for a few seconds with the funniest look on her face! It was like she was thinking, hey - this doesn't taste awful like it did yesterday, it's not bad at all! LOL. Then she swallowed and Bruce put her down and she laid down to take a nap lol. Apparently, while Angel had her mouth open in shock that it didn't taste bad, I had my mouth open too, just waiting to see what she'd do LOL. Anyway, that proved beyond any doubt that my cat wasn't just being fussy, that the pills were in fact very different in taste. Anyone who's had prednisone knows how bitter they are, even the "good" kind, so that other one must have been just awful! I called the pharmacy back Saturday and told them it just wasn't going to work and they ordered the other ones for me. We have to pick them up today at 4pm. thankfully I've had enough of the old ones left to give her until then.
All this to show not just what happened with my cat, but that different manufacturers of the same medication make them very differently. It shows me too why I had a bad reaction and side effects to one manufacturer's morphine and not another. Something to consider when we get our meds anyway.
I am trying to stay out of the sun as much as possible during peak exposure hours. With the people at my Bible study we chat often about the sun, about cosmic rays intensifying, they have increase 13 % since 2013. The reason is the sun. Together we keep updated about the present coronal mass ejections from the sun. The earths magnetic field is weakening, which causes us to get more radiation in our bodies, which weakens us. It is like a person is getting to many x rays. I'd imagine it's even worse if you take medications that make you sensitive to the sun, as people would have reactions faster than they did before. And then there are those who have diseases that cause sensitivity to the sun, like RA and Sjögren's. Maybe that's why I'm noticing it a lot more now than before. Of course the wind bothers me too, but that at least makes sense, since when you have really dry eyes, wind would obviously cause them to be irritated. For me, even a light breeze causes my eyes to hurt. Hi everyone! I put in my garden.. pretty excited about it.. lol.. we have had the worst weather in 120years.. so needless to say i am happy to see the sun this weekend! That's great kel! Weird about your weather, because that's what they said about ours too. I wonder how many other states were told their weather was the worst in 120-140 years? So, what did you plant in your garden this year?Hi, everyone. I can only muster enough energy to reply to a few posts, and then I'm going to jump into the shower and stay there for a while. lol I spent my whole day, doing yard work in 86+ degree temps. Lorrie I just saw the caffeine post. I'm so sorry. When my kids were in HS I banned caffeine drinks. Esp things like Red Bull it messes with your heart I don't think we even had them here when my kids were in high school, at least I never saw them. But I think most things start over on the west coast anyway, and are there for awhile before they get over here. And even once over on the east coast, I guess it takes longer to get to the more rural areas. The first time I saw them was well after my kids were married and had their own kids, but my middle son, Jonathan, got into the habit of drinking the stuff. He's the one who told me about it. After a short time he told me he wasn't going to drink it anymore because he felt it was addictive and bad for you. I have no idea if it is addictive or not, but agreed that anything with that much caffeine is obviously not good for anyone's body. Hello, everyone. I slept like a LOG. I didn't even wake up until noon today! But, I had to move, and move quickly. My whole body was trying to attack. But, I got out of the bed, without incident, but oh man am I sore. Of course ice cream and candy count as eating LOL. They take care of at least two of the food groups! I'm glad you got a good nights rest hon. I've been praying that you would. Killian doesn't at all. Dev will have an occasional Red Bull, against what I have said. But she's an adult Yep, I imagine a lot of people do, otherwise it wouldn't still be selling like hot cakes and other companies wouldn't be jumping on the band wagon.
Sounds really yukky!
That's so neat that you're getting a new bathroom and getting more organized too! A treat for you and you can do all your organizing and cleaning to bring the Lord glory, so it's a win/win!I went grocery shopping the other day. Oh, that's so sad. I liked hearing about Bucky and the horses, and Art too of course. Is he saved, or should I pray for his salvation before he dies? Sorry, I can't remember for sure...We are moving into landlord's B & B apt for a week while they remodel our bathroom ( the roof leak all winter and the ceiling had black mold, plus the toilet flushing by itself sometimes, and landlord bought a different sink/vanity and light fixture etc. so am trying to clean a wee bit and pack for a week.

I had something like that happen to me when I was only 18. My mom and I were moving and had a moving company come to move our belongings. One of the guys stole my hope chest and everything in it along with a few other things of mine that were worth quite a bit of money. We didn't press charges though because I figured that guy must need the stuff a lot more than I did, and it turned out I was right. I'd filled my hope chest with things for when I got married and for my first baby (of course, since that's what it's for lol) and the guy and his wife were expecting their first baby and were dirt poor as the moving company didn't pay much. I hope the Lord blessed them and that they eventually were able to work their way up some so they weren't so desperate. He didn't have a record, so I doubt if he'd done it before, and I didn't want to be the one to cause him to have a record. Funny, I think about them every once in a while and wonder how they did.... it would be so neat if they wound up saved and we met in heaven! How cool would that be???

Bucky is not responding to the chemo that was given to him, the same thing happened to my mom when she died from colon cancer. He reminds me of my mom, a Catholic in beliefs. At Bible study Michael mentioned that a person can be told the truth and be delusional about it, that to me is a scary thought.
I was not able to get mesquite flowers from the trees that should now have flowers on them to use for tea. None of the trees are producing healthy looking flowers. I still do have tea left over from last year, so that I am glad about. I might buy raspberry leaf tea, I have heard that recommended to buy.
The poor little cat Angel, saying a prayer for her now.
I watched a video about quantum computers. One thing that is being worked on now is a brain computer interface that will let a person type with just their mind. Sharing thought independent of language. By the end of the year 2018 Wells Fargo plans to shut down 400 of it's banks, as more people pay by using mobile phones, finger prints or eye scans. People make comments that they do not like these changes, one woman said that she wanted to throw her phone in the toilet and go live in the woods, she got 212 replies to that comment.

Cheryl: The landlord and neighbors we know for 13 plus years are doing the main portion, the rest is being done by some workers who have worked on and off here for years ( and no doubt wishes to continue to, so stealing would not behoove him).
But nevertheless, we brought most of our 'valuables, i.e. computers, kindle, cell phones ( HA) and Leonard had some silver and gem stones with us to other apt./hut/.
When my mom died we hired a moving company to move a lot of things from her home to us in Calif. but on the way, the driver left the truck on the side of the road...... we got some of our furniture etc. but about 1/2 was gone.
So it seems like that happens more often than one knows, we really no longer have many ( other than what I listed) material items of value, but since we know all the people involved we are not tooo worried besides our computers etc are with us. But thank you so much for the warning!!
Cindy how interesting/strange/ sad to hear about your poor kittie and meds. But also good to know about how different companies can make our meds too. That happens to me a lot, the pharm can't get a brand I have been taking, and so they often get some other one. I guess I never paid to much attention because, if I am feeling badly and I feel a little worse, I just figure its a flare-up or the weather or stress or something.....I never thought it might be the meds. Hummmm, something to consider tho.
Anne so sorry to hear about the chemo not working....I often wondered if I would even take it if I got cancer. And about the quantum computers.....I am a wee bit leery of them....well the people programing etc. I guess like all things man creates, it seems to me, that such things can be for good, but also for evil ( it reminds me, sort of, like the tree of knowledge....of good...............and....evil.

Barbara, I'm glad to see that you have people you can trust, and access to workers who value their jobs over anything that they might be tempted to do. That's rare, in this day. Years ago, in part of my training with a bank, they went over many issues, including how to "live through" an armed robbery. Thank the Good Lord that I never had to find out if the training took. But, in the midst of that training they said that people who work for banks, are on constant monitoring. Even if they have a clean background and have been working for them for years. They believed that one bad tragedy could turn a law abiding citizen, into a criminal. I didn't much like this part of the training, because it set my thinking in a completely different direction. Pretty much started my not being able to trust. But, they told what they called true accounts for examples and one was a woman who's husband had lost his job, and she began embezzling. The details of the examples were eye opening, and sad. Since then, in my auditing experience, I found SO many people, who were the "least likely to" commit a crime, did just that. And then, of course, just watching and listening to people who have been victimized. People who trusted, and got taken advantage of. Some of them hurt in the process, not just financially, but physically. Nothing surprises me anymore.
Cindy, Angel sounds like she has a personality and a half. LOL I love reading about animals. I truly believe they are God's special gift to man.

Cheryl I agree even a sweet 'good' person can, depending the circumstance, do evil, because even Christians, still have a sin nature.
I guess I am a little like Cindy tho, if someone stole something, I would figure they needed it more than me, and in the end its just 'stuff'.
However, as you mentioned, sometimes people don't 'just' steal, they also hurt people....at that point I would prob. contact the police, because they need to be held accountable.
But speaking of the remodel, in a way, its kind of funny, its almost one of those: everything that can go wrong....IS. The plumbing is on the sand, but somehow was not done correctly and rotted the floor....so they are having to rebuild that part of the floor..... the new lights to go over the vanity, did not work, and our landlord is having to rewire that, and on it goes..... but.....it must be all done by Fri tho!!!!

Sorry I'm late guys, my internet was down all morning for some reason....Bucky is not responding to the chemo that was given to him, the same thing happened to my mom when she died from colon cancer. Thanks so much for your prayers. She's much happier now that she knows she won't be getting any more of that nasty medicine and will only have to take the one she's used to now. Bruce woke me up this morning to give her some as she was having a hard time breathing, and she took it like an angel, lol I put "Cat TV" on for them to watch this morning, so right now they're all in the living room stalking the TV LOL
lol throwing her phone in the toilet and going to live in the woods sounds good to us too, except we're just about doing that now lol. But Bruce wants to take the kids and move deeper into them too. I kind of doubt that will happen though.

Yeah, that's what I've always figured too Barbara, but not anymore.... like you said, just something to keep in the back of our minds and keep track of now. Or in my case, write it down since otherwise I probably won't remember lolBarbara, I'm glad to see that you have people you can trust, and access to workers who value their jobs over anything that they might be tempted to do. I've known that since I was saved Cheryl. The Lord tells us that all of us are basically evil (not basically good like the world says) and that given the right circumstances we're all capable of doing any evil act. Praise God that once we're truly saved we have a brand new nature, one that's against evil and for good. It's weird though when you realize that no one that's unsaved can even seek God or understand the bible if they do read it, because of their evil nature. Only the Holy Spirit can give a person the desire to seek God, so they even have a chance at salvation. Then if they do seek Him it's then the Holy Spirit that keeps drawing them to the Lord until they're finally saved. (if they choose to do so) And of course it's the Holy Spirit that gives us the ability to understand God's Word when we abide in it. I remember being amazed when the Lord showed me this in His Word and I realized that every single time a person is saved, it's a huge miracle! It's one of the reasons I love reading testimonies. Another amazing part to it is that God loves to saves those the rest of us think are hopeless cases, like hardened criminals. A pastor who used to come to our church and preach every couple of months told us his testimony the first time he came and had us all in tears. He was such a one like that - a hardened criminal and in prison for his crimes. That's where he met Jesus and his heart was changed, and he was given that new nature. He studied his bible for the rest of his sentence and when he got out he went to seminary. I loved to hear his sermons and I loved to hear his testimony too. He always warned us not to consider anyone hopeless, because he was the worst of the lot and God saved him, and therefore God could save anyone! Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it again!
Yeah, Angel's quite the cat lol. Sometimes I can't believe some of the stuff she does. It's so good to see her so active and happy again. We were afraid we might lose her too when Sunny died because she was so depressed. That's a big part of the reason we got the kittens. But of course, she wouldn't accept them at first....no, that would be way too easy... lol. Or at least she wanted us to think she wouldn't accept them. But let one of the let out a little squeal because they were playing to rough or something, she'd run like lightening to their rescue! It was after one of those times, I just looked at her and told her, "you know you just totally blew your cover, don't you, so you might as well give it up. Everyone knows you love those two to death!" Funny thing is that she did stop pretending she didn't like them after that And they worship the ground she walks on! I've never seen cats treat another one the way they treat her, including kittens with their mother. They watch over her and always try to run interference when I'm going to give her her medicine, thinking they're "protecting her" from me, lol. They love on her every day, rubbing up against her and licking her face, and boy to they obey her too! That's funny to see too because if I tell one of them that I'm going to tell Angel they'll stop whatever they're doing right away! Or if they're fighting and Angel comes into the room, she doesn't even have to say anything. She just looks at them and they both immediately back off from each other. Don't get me started though or I'll be here all day talking about the cats! Cheryl I agree even a sweet 'good' person can, depending the circumstance, do evil, because even Christians, still have a sin nature.

Barbara, I always see your type of situation in a different light. Because if the lights weren't working, and the remodel wasn't needed, you would have never known how much damage the floor was getting. And remember when Cindy fell through her bathroom floor, years ago? Well, the same could have happened to Ed and me too, but we discovered the leak, under our kitchen before one of us fell through the floor, and it wasn't just that. The appliances would have gone through the floor! When we remodeled our kitchen, it was a necessity, because we had to tear out the entire kitchen floor, which meant the sink counter and a wall had to be removed, as well, which was the support for our overhead cabinets, so those had to come down too. Then we tore out the dining room floor and part of the living room. The wood was rotted through. The only thing that kept us from going through the floor was the linoleum and carpeting. Sooooo, the extra blessing? We got a brand new kitchen and we built it ourselves. The only thing we did not do, ourselves, is lay the new carpeting in the living room and the vinyl in the kitchen. OH, I forgot! We ALSO had to tear out the floor in the adjoining laundry room! And when we did that, we found something else. A section of ductwork that had been left open when they removed the old furnace and installed central air/heat. That duct had a 12"x12" square opening, which meant that we were losing a LOT of energy, under the floor, that wasn't reaching our air vents, and the reason why our unit constantly ran, summer and winter. Then when Ed was removing the electrical receptacles, he found that one switch was being used as a junction box for 6 other connections, in the kitchen! A fire waiting to happen. So......yes, there were many blessings that stemmed from a sneaky pin-hole leak in our water line.
LOL, sorry to go on and on. I just kept realizing how many blessings we had during that nightmare.
Cindy, I burst out laughing at a thought, when I read that Bruce wants to take the kids and go deeper into the woods! You're right! That would never happen because the cats wouldn't be able to watch Cat/TV anymore!

Yep, you're right! We can't go without Cat TV, their addicted LOL. What's funny is that ever since we started letting them watch that once in awhile, Chloe's been addicted to TV period! She'll sit on the very end of the couch and stare at the TV when Bruce is watching a western - which is most of the time. I guess she just loves horses LOL.
Both of us love the idea of being deep in the woods away from people, but like I tell Bruce, we're not as young as we used to be and both of us have enough health problems that there's no way we could survive on our own anymore. If we were 20 years younger, no sweat, but we're not, so I guess we're stuck where we are.
Isn't it amazing how the Lord brings good out of bad things like that. Those sure were some great blessings!

Well, it's almost the weekend and I'm getting nervous. We're having a memorial on Saturday at our house for Bruce's cousin Mark who was also his very best friend, and a great friend to me as well. Bruce wants me to read something appropriate from the Bible and say a prayer at the end. Reading the bible's no problem but the prayer... these folks are mostly unsaved people, and most I don't know at all. Plus, I'm very shy, believe it or not, so this won't be easy for me. I don't even know for sure if Mark was saved. I have a good reason to believe that he very well might have been, but can't be sure till I get there and find out for myself. There's no way I'm going to even suggest that he's in heaven, the best I can do is say that I hope he is. I have to tell the truth, and somehow do it in such a way that I can also tell them some of the gospel so that perhaps others might be saved because of it. I've been praying and I know the Lord is helping me write the prayer. (I decided to write it out ahead of time and put it in my bible because I'm afraid I'll just freeze when the time comes. That way I can at least read the prayer, and once I get started reading it, I know the Holy Spirit will take over and take it from there. But I have to be able to get the first words out somehow and that's the only way I could think of to do it. I used to speak in front of lots of people, but that was a long, long time ago, so I'm not used to it anymore. So, if any of you see this, and think of it on Saturday especially, I'd sure appreciate a prayer or two!

Thank you Cheryl, for sure the floor was pretty rotted so who knows in time we might have in fact fallen thru. It would not have been a long or far fallen ( everything was nearly or mostly sitting on the sand....but it would not have been good even so!
Praying for you Cindy for your prayer.
Our landlord was going to clean the apt. because tomorrow we have to move back in, but in typical Brent style, he changed his mind LOL
and now we will be cleaning and moving and new temp. guests will be moving in......
so I am praying we will both feel well tomorrow....in fact, I will start cleaning today so there won't be so much tomorrow.

Haven't been doing much. I'm going to walk a friend's dog after lunch. The lady has a hard time getting around and I always enjoy being outside on a nice day.
On Tuesday we went to see our son and his family. His boy was in the Spring Orchestra Concert at his middle school. We had a good time but I was really tired when we got home about 9:30 pm.

You'll do fine, Cindy. Just pick verses that will witness as to the coming of the Lord, to witness to the living. Is Bruce going to give the eulogy? If not, then ask him to write one, so you can incorporate it into what you are going to say, so it's more personal for Mark. Then, when you say your prayer, begin with what the verses were saying and the Holy Spirit will take it from there. You'll do fine. And I'll be praying for you, also.
Barbara, don't strain yourself too much, with all that cleaning. But, I do understand that you need to get things ready for the others to move in. And after they finish your bathroom, you will undoubtedly have to clean that too.
That was very kind of you, Margie, to walk the woman's dog for her. I hope you are able to rest up, after you went to see your grandson's concert. What instrument does he play?

Cheryl: You are soooooo right, probably not only will I have to clean the bathroom, but because they tore out the walls, ceiling and floor......there is dust everywhere: in the halls and kitchen where they tramped thru and not to mention, I had to move a LOT of stuff out the bathroom. You might wonder how much stuff can a person stuff in a bathroom? But when you have under 450 sq ft of living space......I can tell you, it's a LOT!!! I concur with you Cheryl, Cindy will do fine, and tho I am sure she would never boast or tell us, I suspect, it will be more than fine. The sad thing is not to know for sure, if he was saved. But I always rest in knowing that the Lord can take the last second of a person's life and change time so its hours, days, weeks, month or even years, and give them one last chance as He speaks to them. We will not know for sure until we get to Heaven.
Oye vey, I have to go to our Bible study and then, I have to clean here, pack, and maybe move everything out of the hall in our place......
OH! Did I not mention, that apparently while changing something to do with plumbing, our landlord, who is a very big strong guy ( he is admin over a bunch of Providence hospital psychs.....but he also goes to Prov. various hospitals and teaches nurses, doctors etc. how to protect themselves against an out of control person who is fighting everyone. Soooo he is strong and managed to break a pipe without knowing, cuz it turns out it broke behind a wall and the guys working on the remodel do not have time to tear down all they have done ( so we can be out in time for the guests to come to the duplex apt we are staying in...... that means Brent, our landlord will have to tear done the hallway wall to get to the leak......which is where I plopped a bunch of stuff ( in addition to the things I already had 'stored' there) Sigh!!! So yeah, busy, I have been 'trying' to cut back a weeeee bit on pain meds, but not today I won't!! I have to do all this, and if I am in uber pain, it will not get done!!! And tomorrow, I will most likely be hurting way more too....something all of you are familiar with!!!

Yesterday was the big day! My granddaughter Maddie, was officially adopted by my daughter Michelle! It's taken years for it to happen, but thanks to the Lord it finally has! Now she no longer has to worry about being abused or neglected again as no one can take her away from them!
I also found out that my granddaughter Alissa, who's also in middle school, was asked to join the senior high choir, which has never been done before! Not only that, but they'll be going to Czechoslovakia to perform next April! It's the same choir her sister, Cassandra, was in and went to Rome to perform. My daughter was shocked when they asked her if she'd let Alissa join!
Oh dear, that's so frustrating when that happens! It's a good thing we have the Lord to help us and to be our strength when we haven't got any, that's for sure. (that's all that kept me going when trying to catch those kittens!) Thank you for your prayers Barbara, I know they'll help! That's so nice being able to hear our grandchildren sing! That's the only part that gets to me too, when the concerts are at night. Neither one of us can make it that late anymore. Bruce is usually sound asleep by 7 and I am by 9. Plus neither of us see well at night as far as being able to drive goes. You'll do fine, Cindy. Just pick verses that will witness as to the coming of the Lord, to witness to the living. No, everyone will be doing the eulogy, or rather everyone who wants to. First, Bruce is going to take all the motorcycle riders on a ride since that's what he and Mark, and some of the others did every year on Memorial Day. Then, when they get back, we're going to take turns and have everyone tell about their favorite times with Mark. Then I'll read some scripture and say a prayer. And that will be all. Thank you for your prayers, I know they'll help a lot!Cheryl: You are soooooo right, probably not only will I have to clean the bathroom, but because they tore out the walls, ceiling and floor......there is dust everywhere: in the halls and kitchen where they tramped thru and not to mention, I had to move a LOT of stuff out the bathroom. For sure this isn't the time to worry about your pain meds. Just take what you need when you need them hon, and know the Lord will help you get through this too.
