Supposed to have more rain today, but the sun is shining now.
I'm waiting for the car dealer to call so I can pick up my car from them. Last Friday the "tires are low" icon appeared on the dashboard so I took the car in to have it checked. Two of the tires had nails in them. The tires had to be ordered so hopefully it will be ready today.
Hugs.

I can't believe it, but I slept for just under 12 hours last night!
We've had a strange discovery yesterday. Apparently there are 3 kittens living under our house, or at least staying there during the afternoons. Our neighbor caught an adult cat a couple of weeks ago and took her to a cat refuge. At first Bruce thought these might be her kittens, but there's no way they could be. They can't be more then 4-5 weeks old at the most, and if she'd been they're mother, they wouldn't have survived without her. So there's a mother cat somewhere, there has to be. I picked one of them up and they're so very precious! I put food and water out for them, but after a couple of hours, although they'd eaten some of it, they hadn't eaten it all, so they're not starving. (it was canned pate food so I knew they'd be able to eat it) So I've got to go keep an eye out for them today and see if I can spot the mama kitty, and maybe get a picture of them. When I told Jenn, she immediately said, "O Mom, I want one!!!" lol but I told her that because she already has a cat, it wouldn't be a good idea to take in a feral kitten, as we have no idea what the mama's been eating or how healthy or unhealthy they are. They could give her cat a disease even. Sad, but true. Anyway, we've got to figure it out so we can catch the whole family and get them to a refuge.
Then this afternoon I have to go see my eye doctor. So it's just going to be hot dogs for supper as that's the only thing I can think of that I'll be able to fix really quickly for Bruce when we get home lol Supposed to have more rain today, but the sun is shining now. I'm waiting for the car dealer to call so I can pick up my car from them. Last Friday the "tires are low" icon appeared on the dashboard so I took the car in to have it checked. Two of the tires had nails in them. The tires had to be ordered so hopefully it will be ready today. Hugs. I didn't even know there was such an icon in cars now days! Neat! Speaking of rain, the weirdest thing happened yesterday as I was sitting here posting. I heard a noise like pouring rain, so I looked up. And out of a clear blue sky it was pouring! I couldn't believe it! I kept staring thinking I was seeing things LOLThank you Cindy soooooo much, that was such a hopeful uplifting response!!! I just told you the truth hon.... but I'm glad it encouraged you.

Hello everyone. Thank you, Cindy, about the house. I took that picture in 2014. I should take a new one with the deck on the back. It looks quite a bit different, now. This picture was when everything was fresh and new. It's a bit weathered now. But, the deck makes up for it. And now, with Ed not here, I am not able to keep the yard as pretty as he did, because I have a real hard time using an edge trimmer. That makes a HUGE difference. And I haven't been able to get out there and mow, again, because of all the rain. I've mowed twice so far, this year, though. I just have to trim. I need to attempt it again..........or get out there with a pair of scissors! Believe me, I've done that!

Cindy, how do you catch a stray cat? The cats around here, take off when I come outside. They won't let me anywhere near them. Well, except for one time. One cat followed me around, which tells me that he was someone's pet, at one time. It made me angry to think that he was so hungry, and full of fleas, that he must have been dumped or not taken care of very well. But, all the other cats scatter, when I come outside.
We've been having a LOT of rain, lately too. We have been under a flash flood warning for over a week, now. It just makes me want to cry to see all the flooding going on in our nation, right now. There was a story, in Texas, right after the tornadoes in Canton. A truck carrying a family, got caught up in flash flooding and it overturned their pickup. There was a Mom, Dad and 2 babies, aged 4 months and 2 years. The parents couldn't get to the babies, but the Dad managed to undo the seat belts to allow the car seats to float upward and not upside down, so they could get air at the top. Good Samaritans, or I'd rather call them Angels, risked their own lives in the rushing water, to get those babies out of the truck. A person was video taping the whole ordeal with a cell phone, and they showed one man carrying an unconscious baby. It was so heartbreaking! Then the phone went black, but there was still audio. The person must have put the phone in their shirt pocket. Anyway, you could hear a woman praying loudly, for the Lord to give that baby air, breathe for the baby. She said it over and over. I was crying through the whole video. Then we heard that the baby was breathing!! Then they got the 2 year old out and gave her resuscitation. She started breathing, but was having trouble. That baby girl is now in stable conditon. She has a ways to go, but they expect a full recovery. The whole family survived, by the good grace of God!! I had tears streaming down my face. It was an emotional video. OK, I've told you all the story, but now I think that I'll just post the video. But, I'm not going to delete all that I wrote. lol
Margie, I'm sorry that you had all those nails in your tires. I'm glad you were able to get it fixed and were not stranded. Were the nails in the sidewall? Usually with nails, they can just plug them and all done, if the nails were in the tread. The sidewall......a different story, though. I have that icon thing on my vehicle too. It saved me the last time I had a flat on my SUV. I was able to get it pulled over, before it got to the point of ruining the rim. It even told me how much air pressure I had left in my tire!
Well, I need to get some things done in the house, today. Hopefully I will get to my laundry done, sooner or later, lol. Since it is raining outside, I can't work out there. I have no excuse not to do housework. I really hate housework. lol

Update on our 'young', 51 year old, friend:
Our landlord went to see Doug and was able to have Doug get on the phone and talk to Leonard.
He did complain about all the tubes, and he was hurting a lot....but after that....
he made us laugh....
he wanted to know about the latest news, especially what if anything was going on with North Korea. It just seemed funny, he had major surgery and he wants to know the news!
Our landlord Brent will go see Doug again today...they have to figure out where Doug will go after he leave hospital. He is single and actually has zero furniture ( no bed, he sleeps on a mat with a sleep bag.....) I don't think that would work too well....a week or so after heart surgery... getting up and down... off of a cold, drafty, and maybe not super super clean floor?
So they are thinking rehab and/or hospice for a little while.
Brent is sort of high up in the Portland Providence hospital system so he is a good advocate for Doug!
Yesterday we actually were warm...I think it made it to 71 gasp!!! But today we are back to cloudy rainy and 50's.

I tried to get pictures of the kittens for you, but wouldn't you know, just as I had a really good, clear shot of them, the battery died! And now it's raining so I probably won't get anymore. But I got two pictures taken from my kitchen window that weren't very good, but I'll share them anyway so you'll have some idea of what the three look like. the first one is the worst, but it's the only one that's got the little black and grey kitty in it...Hello everyone. Thank you, Cindy, about the house. I took that picture in 2014. I should take a new one with the deck on the back. It looks quite a bit different, now. I can just imagine you doing that lol. We haven't had to mow yet as it's been too cold, but we'll probably have to before the month is out. Cindy, how do you catch a stray cat? yeah, nothing makes me or my neighbors angrier than to see an animal that's just been dumped and left to fend for itself. They all seem to make a beeline straight for either my house or my neighbors house - generally spending time going back and forth between our houses. We feed them and take care of them until we can catch them and take them to a shelter. (it's a no kill shelter.) It takes time to get them to accept you and it depends on how long they've been feral. Sadly, even though we watched her for over a week, the last cat we caught, and took to the shelter, apparently had kittens that we didn't know about. We've caught others with kittens but this cat never let them come out with her, which is unusual. They were apparently born under our house, so that's where they stay and they come out either under the back porch Bruce built or by the stairs that go into our house on the deck in the front.
These three aren't feral yet, just skittish as they're not used to humans, as they hadn't seen any before they saw me. The first day I saw them they were in the front of the house by the tiger lilies. So I just went out and started talking to them in a very quiet soft voice. Then I slowly reached down and picked one of the orange ones up. The other orange one ran off right away, but the little black one just sat there with big eyes watching me hold her brother. (I don't know what sex they are, that's just what I'm calling them for now lol) When he started to get anxious, I continued to talk to him, and put him down where he could see his siblings and go to them, which he did. Then I went into the house and got some wet pate food and took it out and put it under the porch out back, as that's where they generally go. While I was putting the food out, I couldn't see them, but knew they were there under the house, so I kept talking to them. Later that evening, I also put out some dry food, and a fresh bowl of water, again talking to them the whole time even though I couldn't see them. I want them to associate my voice with good things like food. The weather called for rain, real downpours, so yesterday I covered the porch with two vinyl tablecloths and then put wood over the top of them to prevent the rain from getting through there. I wanted the food to stay dry and the kittens to be able to eat it without getting wet. So far that's working. I put out some more pate food and fresh dry food as well as got them fresh water this morning - again talking to them and calling them as I did so. They still won't come out when they know I'm right there though. They wait till they hear the door close and then they come out to eat. I walk in the door and go straight to the window to check, and sure enough, they were eating lol. So that's good. I'm going to put one of my carriers out there with a blanket in it, and the door blocked open, hoping they'll go in there to sleep. I'll have to situate it so that the rain can't get to it either... somehow. I'm hoping they'll investigate it even without any food in it. That should make it easier to catch them. I'd really like to catch them tomorrow if possible, and my neighbor agrees the sooner the better. it all depends on the Lord though. We've decided that if we can't catch them by Sunday that we'll have to use the trap, which we really don't want to do. The weather will make this harder what with all the rain, so I won't be able to spend much time with them.
The rain won't end till Sunday, and even Sunday we're supposed to have showers. But that's what the weatherman said, lol, not the Lord. It was supposed to be pouring this morning too, but the Lord stopped the rain long enough for me to be able to go out without getting wet at all. I really didn't expect that and was so surprised when He did. So maybe He'll cause it to stop at other times so I can spend time with them and get them used to me. I hope so. But if not, that's ok, I know he'll help me catch them when the time comes. That's really the only way I know to do it, to ask for His help.
That's wonderful that the whole family was saved! What a great story!

We have been driving to the Tucson area, it was 99 degrees there today. Yesterday while Ron was driving home a RV that was in front of him blew it tire out while driving on the Interstate. I see all the time pieces of tire on the highways, where cars have blown out tires. The Lord led me to listen to Mike's Bible study yesterday and it was just what I needed to understand about one of my crazy neighbors, it explained him the way he is and why he is that way. Basically it was about how a person can say they are a Christian and why they can be unable to stop sinning and return to the same sin over and over. It is a problem with their soul and they have not given their life completely over to trust the Lord, and about bad spirits. Crazy weather here this evening at sunset. My dogs were looking at the sky, my body felt stiff and my joints hurt and it would get very windy and then calm over and over. I was able to buy tamales from a Mexican woman, they are good.

I have some crazy neighbors, but then there are crazy people everywhere. One neighbor is making thousands of dollars from a go fund me, but he is lying about his need. That neighbor of yours, who is stealing through a Go Fund Me account.........you need to report him. Knowing about it, and not doing anything about it, makes you an accessory. And he is committing a crime.

Good day. Cheryl, the man I mentioned about the go fund me is within the law in what he is doing. To me go fund me is something new and I see a lot of people having go fund me, I notice then in RV travel or boat travel, probably other places to that I don't even notice, but even if the person has a good paying job it is still legal to have a go fund me. You will have to excuse me I word things kinda off sometimes, not as well as the average person does.

Cheryl, the nails were in the treads of both rear tires.
On May 20th a woman resident here will have her 100th birthday party. I don't know her but everyone is invited to her party so I'm going. I just want to meet someone who is 100!
Hugs to everyone!

I have been hearing about the sad news of the wild fires in Florida and now Georgia where the smoke from that fire is going into the city of Jacksonville FL. I have heard that there has not been enough rain in those two states. I am always glad to see it rain, but not to much like the Midwest floods. Well I am glad it is Monday, for me time seems to pass by quickly during the week and on the weekends time seems to pass by slowly.

I really appreciate all your prayers. They helped tremendously! Thank you all! God willing, I'll be back tomorrow and able to post.

I just went over and got a few pictures of the kittens so I could share them with you. Gracie named the black one Shadow and Jenn said that as soon as the shelter had them ready, they'd take give her (or him lol) a home. It was hard to get a good picture as they're in the carrier. I could have taken them out, but I didn't want to disturb them just for my own pleasure. They've been through so much for the last couple of weeks that they really just need to be together in a safe place where they're warm and well fed, and that's where they are. I could see how much more relaxed they were though. They've already decided to trust us, and that's a very good sign. The first few pictures are from before I caught them. Thank You Lord for helping us save these kitties!

I have another picture for you with a story to tell. I was so surprised by this, but you guys who know a lot about gardening will probably think it's funny that I didn't know this.
Two years ago I pulled up about a dozen tiger lily bulbs in the spring as there were just too many of them in the front of the house. I tossed a bunch of them into the woods but had a large flower pot near by so I tossed about 6-7 of them in there, figuring I'd plant them all along the edge of the woods on the side of the house. The only thing I put in that flowerpot were the bulbs themselves. There was nothing growing from them and only the dirt that didn't fall off before I threw them in the pot. Well after planting 3 or 4 of them, my back just wouldn't take anymore so I had to stop. I figured I'd finish another time. Problem was that I just never felt up to it again that year and then I forgot about them. I even left the flowerpot at the edge of the little garden area I was starting on that side of the house, thinking I'd see it and not forget. yeah...right, lol. Whenever I would notice it though, I'd either be in too much pain to do anything about it, or it would be raining. That went on all through the next year too. Then this year I noticed it at one point, and it looked the same as always -just an apparently empty flowerpot. A few days later however, I noticed something very different about it! This is what it looked like about a week ago: I figured if they were that determined to live, I'd better plant them, so I dug a big hole near the same place the pot was and stuck them in it. They seem to be doing just fine now. The kittens look so cute, it makes me wish that I had one. I hope you get plenty of rest Cindy. I know what you mean. My neighbor and I both would love to keep them ourselves, but we both already have enough cats, and our cats wouldn't be very happy if we did. Awwwww so cute!!! Well done Cindy, now rest up yourself! Thanks Barbara. I'm so relieved that the kitties are going to get cared for and given to families that will love them forever.

Such cute little kittens, Cindy. I'm happy to see that you were able to save them all. I would want that black/gray one too, if I were to have a cat. But, to have an animal, at this point, would be really stupid of me. And frankly, I don't consider myself stupid. lol
About your Tiger Lily bulbs. There's no reason that you would not know that they would grow on their own. Most don't, actually. But, tubers do have a tendency to have a mind of their own. I got some lily bulbs a few years ago, as a freebie for ordering something else. I just dug a hole, in an out-of-the-way spot and plopped them in, and just figured they never produce anything. Well, I get THE most beautiful lilies every year, and more of them each year. I have two sets of pictures, three different colors, and I really don't remember this, but the dates on the pictures are in the same month in 2015. And they are all planted in the same place. I looked for pics from last year, and apparently I didn't take any, but these are my surprise lilies. And NO, I did not know they would ever look like this.
This picture was June 8, 2015
I took this one June 30, 2015
I hope to get out there and get pics, this year and get them all in one picture. I only started out with 4 bulbs. Two different mail orders, and they sent two bulbs, each time.

Those are beautiful Cheryl! That sounds kind of like the garden I planted out back as I've planted a number of things out there that I don't even know what they are lol. Some were given to me by other people and a few I bought as they were really cheap. They turned out really nice though. All different colors. I just hope I didn't kill any of them off last year when I couldn't take care of the garden. it'll be interesting to see what happens in it this year. I noticed already though that one really pretty flower that I thought I'd accidentally pulled up last year, came back and is already blooming. That's a relief cause I really didn't mean to pull it up. I've done that any number of times though. It's hard for me as I don't know what anything is supposed to look like and worse, I don't remember where I put stuff LOL.
The kitties are all safe and sound at the shelter now and all three of them turned out to be little boys. It was so hard for both me and my neighbor to let them go too, and for Bruce as well. We all got very attached to them, but there was just no way we could keep them.

Lovely flowers Cheryl.
The only plant I have so far this year is a rosemary plant. When I saw it at the store I saw that it had a strong healthy looking root, so I bought the plant and the plant is doing well.

Hello beautiful ladies {& gents!}!
Hope everyone is doing well (need to back up and read all the posts from the past week - I haven't done that yet). Had to make a day trip out-of-state this week, and now I'm at my mother's house for Mother's Day weekend and also because today is the one year mark since my father went home to be with the Lord. Mother is doing really well and is glad we're here. We are going to do a few little house & yard projects for her today (if the rain holds off for awhile).
Hope you all have a nice weekend! John needs me to run to Home Depot with him and pick up some supplies now, so talk to you later.

Lovely flowers Cheryl.
The only plant I have so far this year is a rosemary plant. When I saw it at the store I saw that it had a strong healthy looking root, so I bought the plant and the plant is doing well. Can you have a garden there Marlene? I just keep thinking of the tumbleweeds you talked about and can't see flowers mixed in with those .... I think I've seen too many old western movies LOLHello beautiful ladies {& gents!}!

I'm glad you could be with your Mom on that day Lorrie. I know it's hard for you all, but being together helps some. I'm still praying for you, (and your hubby and boys) and for your Mom and your sister, for God to comfort and encourage you, as well as health problems and other stuff.hum, this didn't work did it? I guess it's to big to post here, and the video doesn't seem to work when you click on the link and go to facebook to watch it...ugh... that's strange, as it will normally post anything from facebook as well as any video pretty easily.....
I guess I really need to ask for prayer for myself again. My body seems to be refusing to recover from my week of catching kittens. I've discovered parts of it that I didn't know existed, but sure do now because they really hurt! It's like every symptom of both the RA and Sjögren's, as well as my back problems have decided to kick in and be worse then they've ever been before. I've been resting and will continue to - don't have much of a choice there, but it hasn't helped over the long run. I thought it was helping yesterday as I didn't do anything all day till supper time, but just making french toast for us and Jenn and her family put an end to any relief I'd gotten. It's been raining constantly since Saturday night, so that's probably not helping either, but this is ridiculous. So I'd sure appreciate prayers whenever the Lord brings it to your mind. Thanks so much guys. I hate asking as I know there's others worse off, but don't know what else to do.....
I hope everyone had a good Mothers Day. I really did. First my oldest daughter, Michelle, called to wish me a happy mothers day and we chatted. Then while I was still on the phone with her, my oldest son, Michael, walked in! I was so thrilled to see him! His wife has been telling me that he's been doing really well for the last 6 months. As she put it: "God literally brought him to his knees!" He finally gave up relying on himself and make believe higher powers and went to the One who really could help him! He's been living in a "sober house" for over 6 months now and he looks so good! I love how he's been so careful about who he sees too. He won't go see people that do drugs or drink, even if he needs to for business purposes. If he really needs to see them for something like that, he makes sure he has his counselor from the house with him. So God has answered several of my prayers for him. I've been praying for several years that the Lord would restore his marriage and He's done that, praise God! And of course for him to be saved, which happened a couple of years ago, and then for him to live a life worthy of the Lord, and now the Lord's answering that one! I've also been praying that God would reveal Himself to him and show him that only he had the power to heal him and remove the addiction or help him deal with it, and He's answering that too. Anyway, he stayed for a couple of hours and then Jenn and her family arrived to spend the day with us. She brought chocolate covered strawberries for us! And Bruce made a cake for me and Jenn. I thought that was so sweet of him.
Gracie only has one more week that she has to wear the cast on her arm, and she'll be glad to get it off. My poor baby's sick today though. Jenn said she's been up since 3 this morning throwing up, and can't even hold down water. So if you could say a quick prayer for her too, that would be great. (and that neither Bruce or I get it or anyone else in Jenn's family too!) Elijah's ok so far, thankfully.
Well I'd better get going. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone - hope you're having a nice start to your week.
(((Cindy))), just reading through your post and praying right NOW that you will feel better. I regret that you always have something to deal with, health-wise, but you bear it so patiently. You're always an inspiration. Praying for poor Gracie too, and that the rest of you stay well. It's been two hours since you posted, so maybe she's beginning to feel better now. I hope so.
Wonderful news too about Michael! Praise the Lord that he's doing so well!!!!! Just goes to show that we must remain faithful with our prayers and never give up. That's a good reminder for all of us.
Cindy, you have asked me a time or two about John and I read it and think "I need to answer Cindy on that," but haven't done so yet. If you all will continue keeping him in your prayers that would be so appreciated. You know he's been doing the Remicade infusions since last summer and while it does seem to be helping the Crohn's Disease (based on lab work which shows inflammation is down), it is causing terrible aching in his joints. That is interesting, since Remicade is also a treatment for RA, which he does not have, but now he surely is having some worrisome pain in his fingers and knees. It's such a strong drug and I hate that he has to take it, but if the disease isn't better controlled (than it had been) he'd be facing surgery soon. All these autoimmune illnesses are so difficult to manage, and I know that nobody understands that better than you Cindy.
Isn't Heaven going to be so wonderful?! I've mentioned this quote by Dr. McGee before, and it bears repeating now:
"The Bible says those of you who are the sickest down here on earth are gonna really live it up the most once you get to Heaven!" [Not an exact quote, but the best I remember it.] Can't wait!!!

Amen!!!! Thank you so much for such a great encouragement! And of course for your prayers as well. Yes, Gracie did start feeling better a few hours after I posted yesterday and stopped throwing up. After that, she was just weak and tired from being up all night. She got her cast off today and wanted to go to school so Jenn let her, but is "standing by" in case she decides she really doesn't feel quite that well yet lol. My pain too finally began to let up a little last night which was a relief. I also realized that I could be having a flare, which would mean it would last for another two weeks. I know that sounds bad, but to me it's good because it reminds me that there will be an end to it.
I'm sorry John's having that side effect from it. That's the last thing he needs! Has he thought about trying a different biologic? I'm too scared of them to try them, the methotrexate was bad enough. But at least I learned one good thing from it. I don't know if this would work with a biologic or not, but just in case it would, I'll pass it on. I'd had a bad reaction to the methotrexate when I tried it but wanted to give it another try. So my doc started me on an extremely low dose. Normally they have you take 4 pills in the morning and 4 in the evening once a week. (even the 4 pills, although it sounds like a lot, is still a very small dose) But this time he started me with just one pill each time once a week. Then starting on the 4th week he had me increase it to 2 pills, and then on the 8th week to 3 pills and finally on the 12th week he had me taking the full dose of 4 pills. It worked great doing it that way, as I had no bad reaction or side effects from it since my body had time to get used to it a little at a time. The only reason I stopped taking it was because it wasn't helping me. it wasn't hurting me either, but I couldn't afford to pay for it if it wasn't going to do anything for me. Anyway, if John ever decides to try something else, maybe he could ask his doc to start him on a real low dose and slowly increase it to see if it would prevent any bad reactions or side effects for him.
I've noticed that on all the biologics and even the other meds for RA and Crohn's, seem to have all the symptoms of both diseases as side effects... that's pretty weird.... I have to admit though, knowing that they are supposed to help Crohn's, does make me think about taking them sometimes, thinking maybe it would help my stomach and bowels.... but there's no way I could do it now even if I wanted to since we don't have insurance. So I'll consider it more if and when we ever are able to get affordable insurance that actually enables you to see a doctor.
Oh guess what our weather is doing? Yesterday our high was 54 and the low was 43. But today it's supposed to get up to 76! A 22 degree jump from our high and a 33 degree jump from our low! It's like being on a seesaw!

our rain finally stopped too and the temp did jump up a lot yesterday, and did it again today. I can't believe it, but it's 90 here right now! It wasn't supposed to do that until tomorrow lol. Makes me wonder what tomorrow will be like...

Makes me wonder what tomorrow will be like... Hello everyone. Seems like I'm always AWOL since I signed back onto FH. Sorry. Just not feeling like much of anything, really. Have lots to do, though. And can you believe it? I have to mow my lawn again. I should have started it yesterday, but just didn't feel up to it.
Cindy, I don't know if I posted it here or somewhere else, or another forum..... but I read that it is going to be unseasonally warm up by you, this year.

Yeah, that's what the farmers almanac said and they've sure been right so far! They also said we'd have some dangerous weather though, so I'm already praying against that! It's another 90 degree day today, but it's supposed to go down to 80 tomorrow and then down to the 70's after that and back to normal for us, at least for a few days.
Bruce got a great surprise yesterday. Our neighbors bought a new riding lawn mower with a bucket so they can use it in the winter. They told him that from now on he wouldn't have to deal with the huge snow piles the plow always leaves in our driveway. On top of that, they gave him their "old" riding lawn mower! First, it's not that old lol, and is in great condition! So now he can ride instead of push when he needs to mow the lawn!
