Leonard goes to see specialist at 3:30 our time. So will give an update as soon as I hear. Michael said Liam might come home in a week. The good thing is Liam is already off of the Morphine and is no longer feeling pain!!
Thank you all so much for your prayers.
One other thing....last wed, Leonard went for the MRI and had a ton of things to do BUT that was the day, our landlords guests in his one and only apt he rents as a B&B needed cleaning .....
Leonard and I clean it when landlord cannot get down to do it himself...... BUT
it meant last Wed I did it all by myself.... only.... it caused a tremendous inflammation of pinched nerve in neck, shoulder and arm.....
The physical therapist I saw Fri taped it up for me ( he can't really make inflammation go down, it needs rest)
BUT
I need to go clean again Alone because Leonard is none stop busy....took young friend who is having surgery next Monday to do some more stuff that must get done Picking up daughter must go to see specialist etc etc etc
So my arm is still hurting...a LOT But I must go clean....will take me about 6 hours ( more...or....unlikely less).
So if anyone reads this I would appreciate a quick prayer....even if its after I clean, I will almost certainly need prayers as I am already in pain and most likely will be in more after cleaning.
So thank you ahead of time.

I am enjoying living here. It's a lot friendlier than the neighborhood where our house was. I always introduced myself to new neighbors there and brought them cookies, but almost everyone worked and they were just so busy. There are people here at the retirement center who hardly ever leave their rooms, even for meals. (Meals can be delivered to the rooms.) I hope I don't ever get to that point.
We had our old home movies put on a digital format. Hubby and I watched them again to add titles (names of people, years, etc.). It was fun seeing my son and daughter "grow up" on the movies. I had forgotten some of the things they liked to do. My son liked to dance and my daughter took such good care of her dolls. And now she's a good mother to her 3 kids.

I pray you are feeling OK Barbra, at our age 6 hours of cleaning is a lot of work. I pray for Leonard's health. My husband has to go to doctor in a few days to have his feet and ankles looked at. Glad you all like where you live, close to family and so close to the ocean that you can hear the roar of the waves. I was thinking that people in that area where you live dressed like fairies and just kinda tripped out together. Where I live people carry guns and people escape the large city to go to the country where they can bring their guns and have a place to shoot the guns, so there is a lot of that going on around here.
Cindy I hope Jen's husband takes the pharmacy job. If they are willing to hire him being over weight, then he should not be concerned about his weight. The pharmacy probably just cares about getting an honest employee.

Wow, so much to pray about and thank the Lord about. I love mornings, like this. I pray for you and I thank our Lord for so many of the blessings that He has given to us. Barbara, I pray for you, that the Lord will give you the strength to do the job you promised to do, and then give you the rest your body needs to heal. I prayed for Leonard, that he won't have to have the amputation. That He will heal Leonard and keep him whole, so he can do what the Lord has called him to do. I prayed and thanked our Lord for answering our prayers and giving Bob, not only a new job, but an offer for an even better job. I prayed that Bob will do a good job and know this is a blessing from the Lord. I prayed for my sister, who's health is not good. That her body be restored to good health, and her physical strength be given back to her. She is Christian and loves the Lord, with all her heart. I prayed and thanked the Lord, Margie, that you are in a place that you love. A place that lifts you up to our Lord, in faith, worship and fellowship. Marlene, I prayed for Ron. That He guide the doctors to help him with his feet and ankles. That if they find something wrong, that the Lord will heal him, so he can take care of his wife and home, the way the Lord wants him to do. And I prayed for your safety and thanked the Lord for protecting you against the violence and evil that surrounds your home. Thank you Lord.

Well, am I ever glad I mentioned Leonard to you all. It was very very weird! The x-ray showed definite infection in bone, several nurses were also very concerned..... BUT................. The specialist he saw, said: Not so fast...the MRI did NOT show infection in the bone!!! yeah! Sooooo no surgery at this point. The doc said, it it inflames again and starts hurting come in and/also maybe come back in a month.
Plus.....Liam may get to go home in a week...he is off of morphine ( for several days now and not in any pain).
So thank you so much for your prayers!!!!!
My arm seems a little better today...not great, but better, maybe. I decided since we have 3 days to clean to take it easy yesterday. Normally I would try to come close to finishing, because we never know what might turn up any given day, and if I did not almost finish, we would be hard pressed..... But, nevertheless, I just did a couple loads of wash, cleaned the bathroom, and a bit of the kitchen and called it good. Today, I will do the last load and start making the beds etc.and we will still have another day and a half ( if the guests do not come early but at 4 like they are supposed to)>

Barb, that is good news about Leonard and little Liam! Glad to hear your arm is better today, and that you didn't try to finish the cleaning yesterday. Have you been able to see Liam yet? Does your son live nearby?
Cindy, that pharmacy tech job sounds like a good opportunity for Bob and I hope he will take it. John had that type of job during his first couple of years in college. He worked at a small, independent pharmacy and one responsibility was delivering medicine to people that couldn't come get it. I think he delivered on his bike sometimes - this was back in the late 1970s. He really enjoyed that job.
Anna, that was a cute video you posted about the ram and tetherball! The title said "Angry Ram" but it looked to be having fun playing ball!
Cheryl, hope and pray that all is going well with you this week. I am sorry your sister is sick and am adding a prayer for her also, for the things you said.
I'm getting ready to go to tomorrow to meet a group from my mother's church for the GA Baptist senior adult retreat that they attend every spring and fall. This will be my 5th or 6th time to go and it's always a lot of fun. Last spring on the day we were supposed to go, my father woke up sick with a kidney stone, and that was the beginning of the end for him. It was April 27th, his 78th birthday. So this Thursday the 27th would be Daddy's 79th birthday, and on May 13th it will be one year that he went to Heaven. I'm still reading his journals and am SO grateful we have that to remember him by. He kept track of every important thing in our lives.
Cindy, you remember that I met the couple at the retreat from NH that knows Bruce (I think, actually I can't remember the exact connection). They drive down to visit family and while they're here, volunteer for a week or two at this conference center. I hope they will be here again because it's almost like meeting YOU! The volunteers come in from all over the Eastern US and there's another lady who looks a lot like our Lulu!!
Which reminds me, Lulu thank you for the beautiful Easter e-card. I forgot to reply directly to the card, but loved it and appreciate it! And Margie, as always thank you for the card and spring seeds! You ladies are so wonderful!!
Daniel is all recovered from his Costa Rica trip and had his senior prom last Saturday night. He turns 18 on Monday and graduates in another month.
Another thing. I believe I've mentioned that I'm scared to fly (a time or ten ), and haven't flown since 1983. Well guess what? John and I are FLYING to Phoenix in June. This came up practically overnight. We are going to be messengers representing our church at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention. Our new pastor is going, along with another couple (dear friends of ours), and the pastor asked John if we might be interested in going too. When John told me my off-the-cuff reply was, "That's a long drive from SC!" Anyway, we talked it over and decided, "Why not??" I'm going to need LOTS of prayer for this!! Anna, what can you tell me about Phoenix? Cindy, didn't you live there at one time also?
Okay well it's late so good night to everyone.

Barbara, I'm so happy to know that Leonard's bone isn't infected! And such good news that Liam will get to finally go home to his parents!
Lorrie, Happy Birthday in Heaven, to your Dad. And my heartfelt sympathies to you, for your loss. Give your Mom a hug for me. I now know what she is going through.
Lulu, I have always meant to ask you, if you get the replies, when you send us an e-card, because I do reply. I just don't go any further, when the screen changes, and asks me to sign up.
Lorrie, I will be happy to pray for safe travels, and especially pray over your fear of flying. I'm not too keen on that either. I have flown, but that was back when I still drank, and I would douse down a few shots of rum, with some coca-cola, or drink several beers to numb my nervous system. I haven't the faintest idea what I'd do now, if I have to fly.
Anna, I did mean to mention your video, but forgot. I think it's cute. And I agree with Lorrie. It looks more like he is playing with it. LOL

I'm sorry I was AWOL yesterday. I had the pleasure of watching my grandchildren from 8am till 3pm. We started out by watching the movie, "Pilgrims Progress" which the kids really enjoyed. I was actually surprised they stayed glued to the TV until it was over. I explained the few words they weren't sure of and otherwise just let them watch it and draw their own conclusions, while I prayed the Lord would open their minds and hearts to His Word. It was raining so they couldn't go outside like they like to, so we played monopoly next. Elijah won that game LOL. It did stop raining for about two hours though so after lunch I had them take a break from the game and go out and play. I sat out on the porch and just kept an eye on them to be sure they were safe. Jenn got to the house just after 3 to pick them up, and of course had a hard time getting them to leave, but they finally piled into the car and went home. By then it was time for Bruce to get home from work, so you can see that my day was fully packed lol. What a cute video!Leonard goes to see specialist at 3:30 our time. So will give an update as soon as I hear. Michael said Liam might come home in a week. The good thing is Liam is already off of the Morphine and is no longer feeling pain!!

So thank you ahead of time. I sure hope your arm is doing better and at least isn't any worse. I wish there was someone else there that could help you when Leonard can't. That's great news that Liam may be home soon! Praise God! I know how difficult it is to have a newborn in the hospital. Praying that Leonard's news is good as well!I am enjoying living here. It's a lot friendlier than the neighborhood where our house was. I always introduced myself to new neighbors there and brought them cookies, but almost everyone worked and they were just so busy. Jenn and Bob put all my home movies on a DVD for me one year for Christmas, and I enjoy watching it every now and then. I know what you mean about people being so busy all the time. We were really blessed when we bought this house because our neighbors are all our age and generally at home since they're all also disabled to one extent or another. So we have some things in common. I pray you are feeling OK Barbra, at our age 6 hours of cleaning is a lot of work. I pray for Leonard's health. My husband has to go to doctor in a few days to have his feet and ankles looked at. Wow, so much to pray about and thank the Lord about. I love mornings, like this. I pray for you and I thank our Lord for so many of the blessings that He has given to us. I know this is a difficult time for you, and I'm so glad you have his journals; they must be a great comfort to you! I've never actually lived in Phoenix, but lived in Tucson for many years. I've only visited Phoenix. I doubt if they're very different though. All I can think of that you'd really need to know is that it's going to be hot, but that at night it cools off quite a bit and can actually get chilly. So do take a sweater or something for the evenings. I hope you are able to enjoy the trip and your time there. And I'll add that to my prayer request list now so I don't forget. I think you're very brave to even attempt to fly. Bruce is afraid of flying too and there's no way he'd get on a plane for anyone! Well guys, I have to get busy soon and do the chores I didn't do yesterday, but I'm off to check the board and do the bible study thread first though.

I am getting ready to go shopping soon.
Leigh, how nice that you will be able to travel to Arizona, I think you and your husband will enjoy the visit to Phoenix. I have never been to Phoenix, but I would suggest that you carry bottled water in your purse for you and John and maybe for someone else that did not think to carry water with them.

Leigh add me to the don't fly list....I remember when I was a very young adult my first flight seemed exciting and fun.....then it was endurable .....then it became scary....then....no way....I'll walk first!!!!!!!!!
But the good thing is you know where your dad is, and that has to be such a comfort! I am sure you still miss him mightily, but so many just do not know ( like I don't) and have to leave it in the Lord's hand....but its still hard to do.
Cindy: so glad you had some time with grandchildren. It is really helpful to hear how you relate to them.
Well, I should go to Bible Study....I still also have to finish up cleaning....hopefully will be done today....Yeah!

I have never been to Phoenix, but I would suggest that you carry bottled water in your purse for you and John and maybe for someone else that did not think to carry water with them. I always get confused about where you live Marlene. For some reason, i thought you lived in Arizona.....Leigh add me to the don't fly list....I remember when I was a very young adult my first flight seemed exciting and fun.....then it was endurable .....then it became scary....then....no way....I'll walk first!!!!!!!!!

Well, I should go to Bible Study....I still also have to finish up cleaning....hopefully will be done today....Yeah! I've flown a lot ever since I was a very little girl, and all my children have flown - when they were young. The longest flight was from New York to Germany and back. But honestly, ever since they've changed things and added all the supposed security, I'm no longer at all interested in flying and would prefer not to. I'm not afraid of the air plane, I'm afraid of terrorists, nuts and trouble makers. I wish we'd taken lessons from Israel as far as security is concerned for our flights. Then there wouldn't be any problems.
They're such good kids and I love them a lot! I know I talk about them a lot but I guess that's just normal for us grandmas lol.
Yesterday afternoon I had a wonderful time reflecting on Galatians 2:20. The Lord kept bringing to my mind other scriptures and it was so neat! I learned so much from it. I tried to write a little about it today, but it's no where near as good as what the Lord showed me. Oh well, it's better than nothing i guess.

I'm off to the bible study thread too.

Just popping in with a prayer request. The principal of Daniel's high school sent an email last night to all parents that a student "had a health episode" near the end of the school day and had to be taken to the ER, and then soon after passed away.
I have NO idea what happened, but Daniel did find out it is a 10th grade boy. I don't know if Daniel had ever spoken to him, but he does know who he was.
This is so devastating; please keep that family in your prayers.

Leigh how sad!!! We all have concerns about our grandson and school. No matter how many times our daughter tells, principal, librarian, teachers, gym instruction etc etc. at elementary school at 'least' 3-5 times a year, someone give Devon candy with peanuts in it.....
Devon has a 100 percent peanut allergy.
What is worse, is a food item does not even have to have a peanut in it.......... it just has to be made in a facility that makes other food items with peanuts in those items.
The peanut dust can be in the air and travel across the manufacturing plant and land on the non-peanut filled item and that could kill him.
I think it was last year a family went to a fair and stopped with their daughter to by a caramel coated candy apple. Knowing that sometimes they put crushed peanuts on top they carefully questioned the seller. The seller insisted they did NOT put or have any crushed peanuts for their product!!!!!!!!!!!!
So they bought their daughter one. Ane EMP happened to be right in line with them....but he could not keep the daughter alive long enough for the ambulance...she died from the peanut allergy immediately.
I never found out if the seller was maybe a young person filling in while the owner was on break and she really 'thought' there were no peanuts ( maybe she did not see them, maybe they thought as long as they were in a container people would be safe..... I only heard from our daughter the young girl died immediately.
Of course even young children can have a heart attack, and I also heard of a young teen boy an excellent athlete, came home from practice one day, took a nap and died of sleep apnea.
Its sad because I often think mostly the elderly die, but many young die also.
I suppose tho if the child is not of the age of accountability a parent might be comforted knowing their little one is with Jesus.
Cindy: I so agree with you too many nuts and terrorists abounding....another reason I am no longer a fan of flying! I will wait to fly with Jesus :-)
Off to Bible study with you ;-).

Off to Bible study with you ;-). That's the only way to fly! LOL
I didn't feel well yesterday so didn't do anything all day. Still not feeling well, but have to catch up on the house work at least. I hope everyone has a good day today. The weather's crazy here again. Was cold day before yesterday, and started getting warm last night of all things. Today it's supposed to be in the 70's and tomorrow it could reach 80! It sounds like Farmers Almanac got the summer forecast right. For New England they said that summer was going to hit early and hard with days in the 90's and even hitting 100 this year. That's very unusual for us! I'm not looking forward to it. I know many people enjoy the heat and like to go swimming etc. in fact, I used to love to do that too, but I can't anymore and now all the heat does is make me feel sick and uncomfortable. I guess I'd better start practicing right now because the Lord says we're to be content at all times, so somehow I'll have to learn to be content with this and simply rejoice in Him even if i don't care for the weather. But I can rejoice too for all those who will enjoy the heat....

Have a blessed weekend and stay safe during these difficult times that we live in; yet may it be well with our souls.

Praying for the needs mentioned here.
A tornado has been spotted in Canton, a town east of us. Our weather has been so strange.
I went to a birthday party for a friend here at the retirement community. She is 90 years old! I enjoyed looking at the slide show her family put together on her life.
Going to my daughter's tomorrow for church and lunch.

Hello everyone. Lulu, thank you for confirming that you do get the replies. Cindy, if the heat gets to being too much and the a/c isn't helping, it does help to soak in a cool bathtub. If you can't manage that, you'd be pleasantly surprised what stepping into a bucket of cool water will do for the body. One time we were so hot, at the campground. My sister Karen, was with us. Ed took his sponge bath first, then hauled up fresh water for Karen and me. He said, "Step into the bucket, when you bathe. It feels so refreshing." I thought he was nuts, but did it anyway, and a wave of cool went through me, so delightfully. It was amazing how cool it felt, when we couldn't seem to find any relief from the heat.
The weather has been stormy and raining again, here. It turned warm for a few days, then it started up with the rain again. But, my garden is happy!
Lulu, I'm praying for Ron, that he will find work again, soon.
Barbara, is Liam home yet?
Margie, I've been seeing on the news reports that Texas got hit pretty hard. Please post and let us know that you are alright!
Lorrie, I'm so sorry that the family of that young man, cannot find closure, by finding out what killed their child. You'd think that with all the technology, they be able to figure out what happened to him.

Hope you had a good weekend too.So far our winter has been colder and wetter than ever....I think it has broken all records since they started keeping them. Yeah, seems like a lot of records have been broken in the last few years as far as weather goes. Cheryl, yes I do get the reply's from the cards I send out...they are pretty and i love getting'em.... Oh dear! Of course I'll continue to hold you all up in prayer and will specifically pray about this. Please let Ron know that prayers are going up for him again concerning a job. Seems like when it rains it pours doesn't it? I'll hold Jazzy and all up in prayer as well. I'm going to put it on my list again now. By the Cooper family, do you mean Jazzy's mother or her other grandparents?

I'll be ok as long as I stay in the house, and that's what I'll do since I just can't handle the heat any more.
We had a tiring weekend I guess you could say. We had to go to our granddaughter, Maddie's birthday party on Saturday. It started at 2, so I got everything ready and we managed to get there on time. Maddie is doing so well now. I think she finally feels secure with my daughter and feels like she's really part of their family, because she's finally calling them "mom" and "dad". (no one made her do that, she decided to do that on her own) Right now, Michelle and Ron are simply waiting on the final papers so they can get their court date to adopt her as the adoption has been cleared and approved by the court already. She's such a sweetie pie. She had wanted a charm bracelet a couple of years ago and I got her a child's play one. Being only 4 then, she lost it fairly quickly. When she told me about it I told her I'd look for another one for her, and I did. But everywhere I looked, there wasn't a single one! I looked for the rest of the year before I found something and the one I found wasn't a play one. It was "real" although made to fit a child. So I got her that one for Christmas. the charms on it were a cross, a heart, an angel, and other similar ones. Well, she loved it. I really expected her to lose that one too, but she hasn't! As soon as we got to the house, Maddie came running up to me with her arm held out to show me that she was wearing her charm bracelet! LOL When I'd asked her what she wanted this year, she gave me a nice long list - I love that, because then I have a pretty good idea of what the child likes to play with and can then search for similar things. Well this year I got her a baby doll. It was a really cute one and came with a bunch of doctors stuff with it. Michelle always has games and activities planned for the kids at the party and this time she had them all choose numbers and depending on the number they chose they got a small cute stuffed animal. Then they had to make a home for their pet and then give him a rabies shot and a check up. I thought it was a perfect lead in to the gift I got her since it had all the doctor stuff in it LOL. When she opened it up, her eyes got all big and she was so excited! I love seeing that when a child really likes their gift!
After the party, we had to do our shopping, and get our meds, so we got that done, and then went home. We didn't get back home until 6pm! By then we were both so exhausted that neither of us was up to cooking anything for supper and really didn't even feel like eating. We did finally eat some cereal later though. Mostly we just zoned out in our chairs until it was finally time to go to bed.
Sunday I tried to catch up on some of the housework. the kids were going to come over after church, but Jenn was totally worn out herself by then so they chose to stay home and just rest. She's not used to working a lot of hours like she has been the last two weeks, so it had caught up with her. It was really for the best for all of us, as Bruce and I still needed to just rest as well.
I hope you all have a good week and are able to do all you want to.

I did tell you all that Liam is home right?
Our son sent us a funny photo...Liam is a swing bassinet thing ( not sure what it is really called?)
Anyway, he and his wife have 3 black cats ( and our daughter has 2 black cats...what's up with the black cats and our kids LOL)
Back to the photo.....two of the Cats Michael ( our son) and Jessica have are standing....a safe distance away from what perhaps they are thinking is a 'stray' their people brought home.... The funny thing is it's the female that has come the closest to 'whatever it is?"
It's almost like they are talking to one another (Larry one of the males) who is further away....seems to be saying to Sheba the female: What do you think it is?
Is it a new toy? Can it feed us? what were they thinking?
Leo their older make who had to endure these two interlopers cats, could not even be bothered to go take a look see.
Its a cute photo tho.....its like the cats don't really trust that its not something scary even. LOL
We have a young friend ( well young to us 51) who is having a heart valve replacement surgery as I am typing....his name is Doug....so if you get a chance maybe you can say a prayer for him.
I have a sort of funny story about my adopted mom. When she was 90 her PCP said because of her heart....he was going to put her in a nursing home ( she had been a nurse all her life) and she said no waaay ( welll she actually said something else but....)
Sooooooo she contacted a heart surgeon in Boston to do a valve replacement and it went well.
However, one of my cousin's wife was talking to this surgeon, and she told him how astounded she was that he would operate on a 90 year old!!!!!
What???!!!!! He exclaimed... and he showed Jean where mom had given her age as 80....
well ....that was my mom...she didn't go into a nursing home and lived another 3 years at home.

Cheryl, yes, I'm OK. We have had stormy weather and lots of windy days, but no tornadoes in our area. Canton is a couple of hours drive from me, if I remember correctly. I went there years ago for their First Monday Trade Days (lots of people buying stuff from a lot of other people). They had serious damage there and also deaths from the tornado.
I had a great Sunday with my daughter and her family. I really enjoy their church.

Cindy, I loved reading about Maddy's birthday party. She sounds so cute!! I'm glad you had the blessing of just resting the rest of the weekend. I was sore and tired just reading about all you did.
Barbara, we would sure love to see the picture you described. Sounds entertaining. And we'd love to see a pic of the new baby. I said a prayer, right away, for Doug, when I read your post.
Lorrie, I too feel that 51 is young. But by the same token, I don't feel that 72 is old. When Ed was turning 70, I said he was aged like a fine wine.
Margie, I'm so relieved. They kept saying "West Texas". Anything west of Dallas, to me, is West Texas. But, I'm so glad to know that you are alright. Yes, I also heard about the deaths. There have been flash flooding in many areas, over the weekend too. And a few people have drowned.
Wow, it's pretty windy, here, today. While I was typing this post, I heard the rocks from my walkway, spray the house. What on earth?!! I know it's windy, but it's also been a LOT windier and I've never had the rocks fly up and hit the house. Someone had to have done that. So, I checked the cameras....nothing....so I checked out my back window. I started to walk away and just forget about it, when I saw a big tan and white cat, go prancing across my back yard with a baby bunny in its mouth. OK, that's what it was! The cats like to sit on the wheel chair ramp and "hunt". So, when it took off after its prey, it sprayed the rocks. I really hope that's not all they go after. Because the reason I don't bother the cats, is because they are hunters. And hunting is what I need for the mice on this property. This is where they like to sit (on the back side of it). My office is on this side of the house.

well ....that was my mom...she didn't go into a nursing home and lived another 3 years at home. That's great that Liam is home now! The photo sounds adorable. I love the way cats react to new babies. I have a picture of my oldest daughter that was taken when she was just a few days old. I had her in her infant seat which was sitting on the couch. My cat had had kittens a little over a month before this. I'd gone into the kitchen to get a bottle and when i came back out just a minute later, there were 6 kittens arranged neatly all around my daughter in her infant seat! it looked someone had arranged them artistically LOL, but that's just the way they happened to lay down to sleep.
That's neat about your mom too. I had a resident in the residential care home I worked in who's mother needed the same surgery as your mom. She was also in her 90's and the doctors wouldn't do it at first because of her age. She finally found one that would though and came through it just fine. She lived a good 10 more years in her own home. It was strange since her daughter was in a residential care home and she wasn't lol. But then some folks go to a residential care home just because they either don't want to do the cooking and cleaning any longer or can't do it, but can otherwise care for themselves.
Oh yes, I'll say a prayer for Doug right now! Jenn's working at a local grocery store as a cashier. That's partly why I liked working with the "elderly" (meaning people who were 80 years old or older). I love hearing their stories of life when they were younger. You learn so much about history and people that way. We had a number of them who had immigrated her from various places in Europe. So it was fascinating to hear about their life in their home town and their life here when they first arrived. Then there were the Vet's with their war stories - when you could get them talk about it, which wasn't often. I'm so glad you're safe Margie! I was just thinking about the long term weather forecast this morning and how it calls for possible tornadoes here too. I realized that I don't have to be concerned about it, because I can pray against them right now! I don't even have to wait until the time when it's a possibility! Knowing that, I doubt if we'll be having any tornadoes after all! Cindy, I loved reading about Maddy's birthday party. She sounds so cute!! I'm glad you had the blessing of just resting the rest of the weekend. I was sore and tired just reading about all you did.

Your house is so beautiful Cheryl! You guys did a fantastic job on it!
I have a very weird view of age. My mom died when she was 47 so for me, living beyond that age was a big deal. I've lived 14 years longer than she did lol. But I didn't think of her as old. My father wasn't very much older when he died - about 52 I think, so I've outlived him too. On the other hand, I worked with the real "elderly" and many of them were quite spry and in their right minds, and didn't seem "elderly" at all. I knew a couple who were both 80 years old. I met them when I was 20 as they lived next door to my mom just before she died. I thought they were in their early 30's - seriously I did! That's the age they both looked like and acted like! I don't remember how it came up, but when I said something to them about them being in their early 30's, they just about died laughing. That's when they told me how old they really were. I was totally shocked! Since then, I've met plenty of other people who were in their 80's or older that didn't look a day over 40 or even younger. So that too influenced how I feel about age. Finally, knowing that everyone who's saved, including me, will live forever, that we'll never actually die, makes me feel it's kind of silly to think of ourselves as "old" at any age. I mean, what's 90 or even 100 years compared to eternity? They're just babies! My mom always said that "age is all in your mind" and that's one thing that I've come to realize that she was right about. If you think you're "old" then you will act that way, and feel that way; but even those of us who live with pain an illness don't have to think of ourselves as old, like having an "old body" etc. Instead, I just think of myself as mature lol. I know...I'm weird!

Still waiting to hear about Doug.
Thank you Cindy, so much for your truly uplifting 'pep' talk about age...... you know me, how I sometimes get into a funk about being old
Thank you too Cheryl for your view that 70 is not necessarily old
not to mention 'vanity'
But sometimes people do say that Leonard and I seem waaaay younger ( not 'looks but actions, thoughts, etc.)
Thank you soooo much Leigh for saying I have a nice writing style.....that sure made my day....now, not to let it go to my head!!!!
I am sooooooooooooo so so glad our daughter in law, did not go back to work yet!!!!
She runs the lab at the Univ in Austin Texas, and they had a knifing there one dead and at least 3 injured.
Jessica has a PHD is some very technical science...... which I am proud of her in a way..... but the very down and bad side, is she is not a believer and I think 'science so called' has contributed to her non belief greatly.
She is indeed a very smart young woman, a PHD in her 30's but until just a few years ago , she and our son were 'goths' LOL
I am not a fan of being goth, but I can see our son into it more as he has been working for years in a computer company in Austin....he also is not saved which breaks my heart.
But strangely enough little Liam in an odd way, give me hope ( well of course it is the Lord who really gives me hope for them).
But since they told us they would never bring a child into this cold cruel world ( that more or less the idea)
but now.....
here is Liam and they both are smitten with him and rightly...he is an adorable baby :-)
I can hope that there may be a slight crack in the 'no God wall'.....
because, they were absolutely firm about not having children and well..............
again.....now there is little Liam sooooo things change, and the Lord God can yet draw them to Himself.
