Wow, took a 2 hour nap. Oregon is going through a drought. They are talking about capping off the water in the entire State. Thank God we don't drink the water here cause it will surely make you sick. We drink bottled water. Oh well, I hope everyone has a Blessed weekend.

Thank God we don't drink the water here cause it will surely make you sick. We drink bottled water. Oh well, I hope everyone has a Blessed weekend. Wow Mark, I did not realize there were areas in the U.S. where the water could make a person sick!! That is good to know, in case I ever go there (which I probably never will). That's just one more thing to have to think about... keeping bottled water on hand.
Well, happy Saturday to everyone! I know Lulu's happy because she's having her Jazzy weekend right now! YAY!
Margie, sounds like you are really having a good time, doing all that housework!! LOL As you say, it truly never ends!
Reminds me of a woman my mother used to work with... this lady and her husband were empty nesters, and the wife took a few days off work to care for her husband after he had surgery. I guess she'd fixed him some supper the day he came home from the hospital, so the next day he asked what she was going to cook for supper that night and she said, "COOK --- again?!?!? I just did that yesterday!!!" At that point in my life I was a young mom and cooking ALL the time and remember thinking that was SO funny! :D Now though, I'm about at that point myself.
Cindy, you did a marathon post yesterday, just like Cheryl does sometime!! I must commend anybody who quotes and responds to that many posts because I KNOW how much time that takes!!! So glad to hear that Christopher is better and coming home soon. Was he in the military? (Forgive me because I get your boys mixed up.) I know you can't wait to see him.
Anna, glad to hear that the pig trough was built in time and that you shouldn't have to go over and help, if all goes well. About the eggs, did we know you had chickens?! You probably did tell us and I just forgot. They sound like they're doing well! Is there any way you could sell the eggs?
I love fresh eggs and a lot of people around here sell them. (One time I said I wish we lived in a place we could keep some chickens and John said, "You're crazy. First time you ran up on a snake in the henhouse you'd run screaming out of there, never to return." He is SO right!! :o )
Cheryl, several things (although these are a repeat of what I've already said) -- LOVE the new profile picture, and your hair is SO pretty! :) Do you roll it to get those gorgeous curls? I've seen Youtube tutorials on how to do that cascading hairstyle. And, congratulations on the awards! They are well-deserved, and I'm happy you're getting some recognition for a job well done. Hope that by today your eating is back to normal. Maybe you had some kind of virus making you feel sick? Anyway, hope you can relax this weekend.
Seven, I have to say that I've never seen Dark Shadows and don't know what it's about. I pretty much stick with the oldies like Andy Griffith, or a few shows on HGTV (Fixer-Upper is my new favorite -- who all watches that one?) Oh, and we were watching the Blue Blood series on Netflix, but haven't viewed that in several weeks.
Kelley, what do you have going on this weekend? And Ruthanne, how about you? Hope you get to spend some time with little Levi.
Today the Baptist ladies choir I'm in has our final concert of the (school) year. It's not till 5:00, but it's in the upstate, so I'm leaving this morning to carpool with another lady. We have to arrive early in the afternoon to practice, then the host church always provides a nice supper before the concert. They had talked about putting some of our songs on Youtube, but I don't think anyone ever did. I have had so much fun singing in this choir this past year and getting to know ladies from all over the state.
Hope everyone has a nice day!

Mark, I have heard about small volcano activity, or magma that has not reached the surface in the state of Oregon and out in the ocean 300 miles offshore at the Axial Seamount.
My online pastor Paul is in Israel right now. They asked their son if he wanted anything from Israel and he said no, but he did want a prayer put in the Wailing Wall for him and his wife. Pastor Paul said he also put a paper prayer request in the Wailing Wall for the members of his church, that made me feel good. I never thought I would have a prayer placed in the Wailing Wall for me. Prayers put on paper and placed in the Wailing Wall are collected once a week, then put into a vault and are never discarded. Bye for now, Anna

I finally made it here! Well, actually I always get here earlier, but I've had so many PM's and other stuff that pops up to let me know something has to be done, that it takes awhile before I can actually post in here. I wanted to let you all know though that I posted an important Update on Marianne on her prayer request thread. That's a link to my post if you'd like to see it.
Thanks Lorrie! Yes, Christopher was in the Army and later in the National Guard. The choir you're in sounds like such a great thing to be part of. I always loved singing in the choir from the time I was a young girl.
We have to do the shopping today, and I really, really, really, need to clean my house. It's horrible! So I guess I'd better get dressed and get at it! Love you guys! And please know I'm praying for you all too!

Wow, lots of posts! Awesome! I haven't quite figured out this board, yet, but will eventually take some time to play with it. But, first, I'm trying to keep up with all the posts. lol This board reminds me of a slightly updated version of our original board, from way back in the day.Cindy, are you "multi-quoting"? Or are you quoting each one, and then copy/pasting them into one post? I've done that latter one, before, when the multi-quote feature was not working once in a while, and boy does that take a lot of time. lol
Thank you all for your congrats on the awards. I really didn't know what they'd do, and poor Ed was sitting on the outside of the booth, because I didn't want to make him slide in, with his hip hurting him like it does. So, every time I was asked to go up front, he had to slide out and stand aside to let me come and go. LOL Kinda defeated my purpose to keep him sitting still. lol
In answer to your question, Lorrie, and that I thought of you, Lulu, yesterday. I was caught in a BAD rain storm, yesterday in Kirksey Kentucky. It's about 40 to 45 minutes south of me, back in the woods. I could hardly see in front of my vehicle. Pretty scary. Then it seemed to follow me back to Paducah, and the storm was really looking fierce out in the distance, looking south, so I headed on home, but first wanted to stop at Lowe's to get a yard sprinkler. One of those old fashioned kind that oscillates and covers a wide area. Ed asked me to buy it to try, so I don't have to water the garden every night. That's not such a bad thing, but it's just too hard for me to keep dragging the garden hose out, and then taking it back. (I usually leave it out, lol) But, he will realize that it will cause the garden hose to be out longer than usual, because it still needs to be dragged out there. lol But, the thought was nice. thanks hon. ;)
Anyway, back to the storm thing. I was pulling up to Lowe's when the sprinkles started up, so I grabbed my umbrella from the back seat and headed on in. I wanted to browse the garden shop, and that's mostly outside, so the umbrella definitely came in real handy, because it just dumped buckets of rain on me! But, I got what I wanted and got out of there. But, the wind followed and my umbrella was literally turned inside out, and I got drenched, anyway. lol Then what made me immediately think of you, Lulu, is when I got home. I was coming out the little garage door, and suddenly there was a fierce bolt of lightning streaking across the sky, somewhere over near the back yard and a huge explosive sound. So, loud, I screamed and ducked back into the garage. :D We didn't find anything that had been struck, and we still had power and nothing back there was on fire, so all was good. But, I said to Ed "Lulu, would really have enjoyed that show." LOL!
Well, now rewind a little......When I was at Lowe's, I got the sprinkler, and then I got two more rose bushes that were on clearance. A beautiful yellow rose and a deep purplish red rose. They are called Grandifloras. They are not the knockout rose, that I usually buy. They are a much larger rose. Ed says "Now, where are you gonna put those?" I explained, where, and will tell ya'll in a minute, but when I explained to him, it got him to thinking. And this morning he asked me if I'd put them on either side of the burning bush, so we can sit on the front porch and enjoy them more often. lol So, that's where they will be put. But, what I'm doing now, is buying as many of the clearance rose bushes, that we can afford and building a "friendly fence" on the entire border of our property (road side). They won't grow so tall that the county will cut them, but they will be tall enough to provide a little privacy and be awesomely beautiful at the same time. Lorrie, THAT made me think of you. lol Curb appeal.
And with all these rose bushes and flowers, I think I won't just be called "the bird lady", but will also be called "the bee keeper". Our hummingbirds seem to really love our rose bushes too, so if I get all the hummingbirds, in MY yard, I will be in hillbilly heaven. :D
Speaking of birds. Our blue birds recently produced 6 brand new babies! They've all flown from the box and I tore out the old nest and cleaned the box for their next go-'round. Then as I was sitting outside on the front porch, I noticed Daddy bluebird, putting grass in the other box near the front yard! This box has never been used before! SO cool! I haven't checked, yet, to see if there are two boxes being used at the same time. (the 2nd being the one they usually use). But, thought about it, yesterday, when I was driving home. A mockingbird had attacked the box they usually use. A few weeks ago, I was sitting out back when I saw a mockingbird go diving toward the ground, with Daddy bluebird hot on his heels. Ok, mockingbirds HATE other birds nesting close to people, namely a home, because they prefer to build near people. They will somehow get in at the other babies and kill them. So, I'm thinking that the nesting was moved to the other box for safety. Now, I'm wanting to get out there and see if there are two boxes. lol If there is, then I hope they start using the 3rd one that we have for them. It's out by the garden. This year, it was invaded by that bird that build fake nests, so other birds can't use it, so I dug that out of there. Haven't checked it again, lately though. Need to do that. lol
OK, I'm sitting here babbling and haven't even responded to anyone's posts. sorry. :-[ But, I'll get this posted.

About "Dark Shadows". I understand now why my Mother didn't like me watching that show. I really didn't understand how dark it really was. I enjoyed the children in the show, because they were about my age. She didn't stop me from watching it, and sat with me a few times and watched it with me. I didn't know it at the time, but she was most likely monitoring it. I would not like watching it now, though. And besides.....the show eventually was ruined for me, because at the end of the series, in the finale, the children were killed. ??? I didn't remember that it was on Public Broadcasting, but I did watch that channel a LOT. Well, we only had 5 channels to choose from, back in the day. I didn't start watching Dr. Who, until about 1978. My EX was a BIG Dr. Who fan, so I got hooked on it back then. Had to stop watching it though, because they kept putting it on later and later at night, and I needed to go to work, and needed to go to bed. I watch it once in a while, now. lol As for Star Trek. I liked watching all the old S.T., but when the other spin-offs started, I watched a few here and there, but no biggie.

My neighbor dudeee guy is a Star Trek fan, he used to live in LA. His first name is Trek. He and his wife go for a motorcycle ride on the weekends and they dress like Darth Vader, everything is black, all their clothes and even the motorcycle. Lately I have been going to youtube at night and typing in "old movies" and picking a movie to watch that is old like from 1937 to 1947. I like to see the people's clothes, the furniture, and their life style and see how it was different from how it is today. I like those old telephones.

For those of you not on Facebook, our friend Leslie passed away today. (Didn't she go by that name here on FH also? I can't remember.) I'm not sure what happened, but she did have an operation last Monday. She was widowed a couple of years ago and had no children, but I think her mother is still alive (but if so, not in good health).

trying for the 3'd time to make this post...each time I try to add a smilie from my smiliepad it goes to that drag and drop page, which I am NOT trying to go to...and I end up loosing my post...but I got Ron to help me enable that save a draft...so I pray I can get this posted this time!
Church was great, even though we almost didn't make it because of our own son acting like a jerk on the freeway..we saw him cut in between two other cars, making it so close that the car in the front of us one lane over had to hit his breaks and weaved into our lane, which was the car pool lane, Matt weaved in and out of that lane, making another car slam his breaks and then he flew to the other side of the freeway, then back over to the car pool lane and took that lane, which he was not legally allowed to do..so he almost caused two accidents one of which could have included Ron and I..he was trying to get away from a car that was being a jerk to him, but none of that mattered to me, all I saw was my son almost getting killed on the freeway along with others and potentially us. He didn't see us, but we saw him...I was livid, once we got off the freeway and stopped at a red light I almost got out of the car and walked back to his, he was right behind us at this point, and back handed him. once at church I took his keys away from him and Ron drove his car home...I'm still livid at him...every time I close my eyes I can see an accident and my son getting hurt or dead...the ramification of what he did and what could have happened almost stops my heart..
Last nite we (Ron, I and Jazzy) went to Lyn and Dave's church for free taco nite...their church does this for the neighborhood to get them to come and have a meal with church member's...it was fun and Jazzy had a blast...she wanted to attend their Church today so we left her with them. they will be here shortly. She seems to love going to church...
Well, that draft saving thingy works! I was about to scream cause I hit the wrong key and thought I lost this post a 3'd time...I better just post this.....

Lulu, I'm glad you kept trying to post, and got it done, because what you told us we need to know, so we can pray for Matt. What did he have to say for himself? That was just awful. If he doesn't get himself killed, driving like that, he could get himself arrested for reckless driving and that wouldn't sit well with that on his record for the fight for his baby girl. Every action has a consequence. But, my prayers are on their way for him. Jazzy and Haley are so cute in their matching dresses.

I can't remember that she was ill. I'm so sorry. :( Jackswife -- that's it! I could not for the life of me remember her name on here! I looked back over the past couple of months on her FB page and will copy a couple of her status updates: From 4/8/15: This past month has been a "doozie". The anniversary of my husband's death. The death of someone who shared the genetic defect I have and one of the serious symptoms. A dear friend diagnosed with cancer. Turning 60. The need for a scary medical procedure. Yes I have been discouraged. But I also cannot believe the number of ways God has shown up. An amazing rainbow the anniversary of Jack's death. The Sunday School lesson my week to co-teach was Jesus calms the storm. Meeting a lady with a daughter with my genetic defect and being able to encourage her. Two sermons where Brother Ricky Gray preached the exact message I needed to hear at the moment. I'm definitely in Good Hands. From 4/23/15: Well.had follow up with neurosurgeon this morning. He was not rushed. He was helpful in answering my questions I had. He even showed my the lovely close up pictures of my spine from Monday. Good news. I do not need a bionic back. No surgery on the lower (lumbar) back was recommended or discussed. So while there are problems, they are not nearly as bad as could be. For the lower back I see the physical medicine dude. Dr M said something about him doing some injections? I see him Monday. On the neck (cervical spine) he DID recommend surgery. One area only at C5 requires attention. It is compressing a nerve and poses a risk if I am in an accident. It would be about an hour surgery, one night in hospital, up and around on limited basis immediately and full activity two weeks. Remove the disc, insert screws and a plate I think he said. So that's the rest of the story..... And then last Tuesday she posted an update after she got home from the hospital the day after her surgery and sounded like she was doing pretty well, but I don't see any status after that so I don't know what happened. But everyone seems to be surprised, so maybe it was something sudden. {The name of her genetic defect is Turner's Syndrome. I read that it is the second most common genetic defect, and in fact I do know two other people who have it (one girl in her 20s, and a little girl at church).}

Trying to catch up. Thank you for sharing about Leslie (Jackswife).
Cheryl, are you feeling better today?
I'm bringing my dad to the Audiologist today. He got his hearing aids last week. She will do some fine tuning. They are so amazing. They are Bluetooth compatible. So, if he had a cell phone, he could just listen without needing the receiver. That would be great for hands free in the car too. Thanks for the heads up about old movies on You tube.
My house is so messy! I should start cleaning now.

Thanks for sharing that Lorrie. I'm sorry I didn't see it before now. I posted another thread about it so everyone would know, but would appreciate it if you could add the additional information to it for me. Here's the thread I made about it: Our Sister Jackswife has gone to be with our Lord
That's awful about Matt Lulu! And the girls look adorable!
I'm sorry I can't post more but today's a really bad pain day for me and I'm just not up to doing more as I had a bunch of PM's to reply to again.... sorry....

I finally made it over here! LOL
UPDATE ON SERVICES FOR LESLIE TULO:
I just spoke with her Pastor. A relative from out of state is due to arrive in Jackson sometime tomorrow. Pastor Ricky won't know anything until the relative has connected with the coroner and made the initial decision regarding any services. Pastor Ricky said they would probably have some type of memorial service for her locally but couldn't say when.
I will call back on Wednesday to see if any more information is available. Until then, that's what we know.

Lulu, that is a lovely photo of the two girls, may the Lord bless them.

Sunshine today - no rain.
My daughter's youngest boy was in a spring play put on by the children's choir at their church. He played a palace guard in a story about Queen Esther. Afterwards we went to Braum's Ice Cream Store, of course.
Saw a hummingbird yesterday, the first I've seen this spring. It flew close to the parakeets' cage, then veered away when it saw me. I'm amazed at how fast and easy hummingbirds can zig and zag.

Good Morning all!
That sounds like such fun Margie! I love watching children when they put on plays, whether it's a "real" one like through the church or school, or those they come up with on their own. It's always fun to watch.
Not much going on here...just taking it easy still.....
Hope everyone has a good day.
