The worst flooding that took out houses was in Central Texas. I live much farther north. Heard that a couple in my exercise class lost their weekend/future retirement house in Wimberley. Their house was pushed off its foundation, along with one car in the garage, and was washed downstream. Their roof was pushed against the house next door and jammed there.
A city south of Dallas, Midlothian, is under a flood watch because the dam might break. But this morning is sunny and it looks like no rain today.
Saw my daughter yesterday. She stopped by to drop off her youngest boy while she went to the doctor. She has a bad case of bronchitis; I would appreciate prayers for her. She said they had to return one of their adopted cats back to the animal shelter. He (it) refused to use the kitty litter box, attacked the other cat and also attacked their Boston Terrier. It even jumped on the younger Boxer dog to claw it. Maybe that's why it was taken to the shelter to begin with. They kept the other cat though.
Will try to spend some time outside today. You're right, Anna. That hawk would gobble up my parakeets really fast!

Margie, saying a prayer for your daughter. I hope she will feel better soon.
That cat sounds scary!!
I have been following the story of the McComb family, the one where the mother and two little children were in the house in Wimberley that was swept away. The father was found but those three have not been yet, and also several other people in the house along with them. The story has hit me hard because, if I understand it correctly, they were vacationing with friends in that house, just like we were this past weekend - in a rental house with our friends. Nobody would ever think such a horrific thing could happen to them.

Phil.1:29For to you it has been granted not only to believe believe in Him,but also to suffer for His Sake. Well I seem to have lost my colors on the replies too.I did enable the drafts thingy and the social networks.Don't know how to use them but I will get it someday.I also changed the skin. Lorrie, that story about the mom and her 2 kids was so sad .they said on CBS she was holding their hands til they were torn apart by the flood. So sad,but her family said they are all with Jesus now,so that is a relief but I still hurt for the family, cause the mom and kids must have been terrified.I would be if I thought my kids were going to die.so sad,I hope it was quick and the peace of Jesus was on them all. I truly have to get up and hit the heating pad. Will be back tomorrow unless I get better today.Love reading all your posts.Kel,you forgot to answer if your kids are still home,or I missed it. This new board is really good.I have a question.Does anyone on the internet get to read the Struggles thread?Love you all,Ruthanne

Hello Only three more days to care for Bucky's farm animals, that's good because they are running out of food, Bucky sends text messages and is in a bad mood, probably doesn't feel good. His best friend Art told Ron that Bucky had a heart attack last month, we did not know that.
Donna, Art's wife is going to have a Bible study at her home tonight and I think every Thursday night. I have decided to call her and tell her I would like to go to her place tonight for the Bible study, I am guessing there will be about 5 or 6 people there, I won't know any of them, but if they love the Lord things should go well. Bye for now, Anna

The area near Wimberley is really pretty. My husband and I once stayed at a Bed & Breakfast in Central Texas which was right beside a river. Can't remember which one. As I think about it now, I realize that the same thing could have happened to us if the water had come up fast.

Good morning I have been awake since 3:30 a. m. I sure can find more work to do than I have the time and energy to do the work. Anyone want a free goat? Bucky doesn't like the goat anymore, hopefully the goat will get a better home to live at. It sure is dusty around here, when my dogs run it leaves a dust trail in the air. Well I'll go find some work to do, love Anna

Quick hello to you all - this morning we are taking the children's choir to a nursing home to sing the musical, "Levite Genes." It's an old one. I haven't worked in children's choir this year but the leader needed me to play the piano for this so of course I'm happy to. Tomorrow night the children present it to the church, so this will be a nice little trial run.
So, I'd better finish getting ready. See you all later!

Hello, everyone! Had a pretty busy couple of days, and tomorrow too. Been fishing, and going again in the morning. I hope the news is right and the rain has subsided in OK, and TX, Margie! I hope you enjoyed the show the children did for the elderly, at the nursing home, Lorrie! Disneyland, I remember it when I was 11 years old. I hope it wasn't expensive, back then, because my Uncle paid for it, for my sister and me. NINE!!? Jazzy is NINE? Where have I been? I told Ed, just the other day that I think she was 6 or 7, but couldn't remember. But NINE? I just can't get over that! Happy Birthday, Jazzy!!!

Hi Everyone. Had a nice time at church this morning. I got to run the lyrics for praise and worship. Then we had lunch down stairs. I have changed my diet recently, so there wasn't a lot there that I wanted to eat. But, I met a few new people and had a nice visit with the ones I know.
We are having rain here in the northeast. But we've had so many beautiful summery days. Yesterday was perfect. We had a yard sale for the missionaries from Wycliff in Papua New Guinea. They are coming back for a year next month. Hope the crazy floods are gone from TX & OK.

The sun is shining! No rain! Toadstools are still growing in the pools of water in my backyard, but maybe things will dry out a little. At my son's house the water came up in the greenbelt next to them, and at one point the highway to his house was partially flooded.
Went to Sunday School this morning, but it's so hard for me to hear in that room. I've suggested using a microphone, but no one wants to do that.
Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday.
