Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone slept well last night.
It's good to see you Anna! Did you say that your email address is no good anymore? If so, would you mind sending me a private message with your new email address so I can get hold of you if I need to? I'd sure appreciate it.
Guess what? I FINALLY figured out how to add some avatars to this board for us! So I'll be doing that shortly. Sorry it's taken me so long, but nothing seems to be where you'd expect it to be here. Kind of like when you go in a new grocery store and you know the butter is always in the dairy aisle, but in this store it's with the bread!
Back to working the extra hours I see Lulu. I hope it doesn't last too long this time!
Kelly, you said you guys are getting baby earthquakes? I hadn't heard about that. We had a couple of those here too a few weeks ago. They happen every once in a great while here. However, this time, I thought it was strange because the news not only reported the two small quakes, but then reported that a little over 100 years ago we had a very big quake and that it happened in the same place the two small ones happened. Then they said, "it could happen again". it was almost like they thought they were preparing people for it in case it did. It was really weird. Cause in the next breath, they began to report about how some schools in NH were teaching kids about tornadoes and having tornado drills! I went through that all the time in Florida, but never here! None of the schools here have ever done that because we just don't get tornadoes here, or at least it's very, very rare. I only remember two in the 30 years I've been here and neither was very bad. But they were reporting saying that they're not rare and that everyone should "be prepared" etc. It was just really, really weird. I almost wondered if someone had read the bible and figured out that things are going to get worse and decided to warn folks about it this way. Know what I mean? When they insisted we had them regularly, they showed the stats and I laughed because what they were calling tornadoes were nothing more then large windstorms to me, having lived through so many really bad tornadoes in Florida. Oh well, whatever will be, will be. God's the one in control though, so I'm not going to worry about it.
Well, I'd better get going if I'm going to add any of those avatars!

Good morning :) Cindy when I read what you wrote about how you would like to see your grandchildren more often it reminded me of what teacher Mike said a few days earlier. He commented that children live in a different world in their minds now days than we older people do, how they were brought up only knowing about the Internet, where we think different because we knew the world the way it was before the Internet. We grew up socializing differently than they do now days. Children have their own language that they use on the Internet with each other that adults can't understand.
I totally agree. In fact when I try to use the Internet lingo, Daniel says, "Please don't say that; it doesn't sound right coming from an old person." LOL (I've talked about it before... for example, using LOL! Drives him crazy! LOL :P ).
Anna, glad you made it in here. We were missing you!! Now if we can just get Lee and Jtheb on here, we should have just about all our old regulars back.
Had a busy couple of days. Wednesday we did a teacher's appreciation day Italian lunch for the teachers at Daniel's school (I'm on the PTO hospitality committee), so spent half the day up there helping with that. I loved it. This school is less than two years old and it's still a new, bright, sparkling clean, beautiful building, and the teachers all seem so happy to be there and were grateful for the lunch. I thoroughly enjoy any time I get to do anything there... but still have to remember it is a secular institution. This year someone started a club for the homosexual students. Breaks my heart, this world we live in. Jesus please come back soon!!
Yesterday took a short walk before going to the Precept class (we are now doing a study entitled "How Do You Know God's Your Father?" based on 1 John), then John was in town so we met for lunch at a delicious little sandwich shop. On my walk I got to visit a little with my new friends, the retired missionaries that I mentioned. Cindy, the name of her book is "To Persia, With Love." I'll be getting a copy soon and will let you know how it is (already know it will be fabulous!).
Well I need to get back to work. My parents are coming for the weekend; our church usually has a ladies tea around Mother's Day and sometimes I go, except for when it falls on Daniel's birthday/party, then I can't go. My mother has never come to our tea, but y'all remember our precious friend "Miss Terri" who hugs everybody (even strangers!!)? She invited my mother to come, so my mother is coming! Sadly, Miss Terri's daddy passed away last week and now she might not make it to the tea, but anyway - my mom and I are going! We are supposed to dress up fancy and I have no idea what to wear. Wish all of you could go too!

Hi Anna, good to hear from you.Now we need to hear from John and a few more like Lee. Cindy,I wonder if the bad earthquake they said you had was from the bad one on the new Madrid fault? But the New Madrid earthquake was over 200 yrs. ago.I live directly on the New Madrid fault and we don't even feel the small earthquakes they say we have all the time. But with all the other activity around the country and indeed, the world,I wonder, how it is affecting the fault. Are we getting ready for our "big" one or should we be.I believe all the teutonic plates somehow lay atop of the others in some small way and all this movement....The last one made the Miss. run backwards for three days and liquefied the land in so many places.Afterwards the found fish about five miles from the river ,I guess a rivers tidal wave in some way?I gotta go to Paragould and then I am in the house for the long haul,Love Ruthanne

Good morning all!
Thanks for telling me the title Lorrie. I'll have to see if I can find a copy somewhere. That's really nice that you and your mom are going to get to go to the tea together, although I was sorry to hear about the lady's father died.
I've enjoyed watching Alaska state troopers Kelly. The lunch you describe sounds like it was wonderful!
I have no idea what fault it's on Ruthanne. I really didn't pay much attention to it, sorry. Remember, during the tribulation there are going to be a couple of world wide earthquakes, so I would assume that all that happens now is getting ready for those.
Our Grandson, Kaden, is having his birthday party this afternoon at one. It takes us almost an hour to get there, so I've got to get started getting things done around here and get ready to go. It'll be nice seeing everyone again.
Hope you all have a good day!
Oh yeah, you might want to check out the "check it out" thread in this forum. I keep adding to to it whenever I add anything new to the board or figure something out about it
I guess I'm going to have to send another email to John. He already joined the board, just hasn't posted yet, but I really want to know how he's doing. I did send another email to everyone that hadn't joined yet, and several of them have joined since, but still no Lee....

Hi everyone. Cindy how did the party go, or need I ask? You always have such a good time with your grandkids. I used to feel like a horrible grandma, cause I just wanted some free time from them. Now I realize I am a good grandma. Cause I saw one in you and now I know why you always had so much fun. I love having them here, spending most week-ends( unless Tyler has other plans),C stays about once a month. Like last night, I told Tyler he couldn't spend the night as me and Lar were really fighting. But he could come over today and have the computer all day. He was very angry with me. Wouldn't say good-bye. Then C calls and says he can't leave the school without an adult(basketball game). It's right across the street from me. So he wound up staying overnight. Yikes! After breakfast he ran to the dollar store for me( he was taking his car home today, we've been using it since Friday) called his mom and left. He is such a good kid. He no sooner left than Tyler was here(like 5 mins.) So Tyler wants to spend the night(yay!) And he bought me and Larry Paydays(candy) and me a peach mango (he knows that's my fav.) He is now uptown(about three blocks away) at his girlfriends house. He's twelve!!!!He has to be back by 8 so I took this chance to come visit. Cindy, I have had a lot of time to think and when I first came here I was so dumb about the computer. And I needed so much in the way of teaching. The Lord led me to a teacher and a counselor. You had to be one to help me so much straightening out the falsehoods from the truth. And not wanting to kill me. Most of the time, lol. Thank you again for your patience and I give all Glory to God cause I surely tried your spirit. Hi Cheryl. I guess you are busy on your house and garden. Are you still working? Did you take that job that could be so dangerous to your back? I'm with you, God will not take you where He cannot keep you. not knowing His plan, I would have to fight the anxiety, but I would do it anyway, like you. Hi Lorrie. Tomorrow is tea day? I haven't heard from Steven since he took Robin back. He said he just missed Levi so much. He put some conditions on her and himself. He really wants to keep his family, mostly the boys but he has to wait til she messes up again. Y'all pray for them please. Robin and Tyler went to church Weds. Y'all know what she is on and he asked her if it was worth losing Levi over and she said "No way!" He promised to help her if she would tell him when she was weak. This post is all over the place. I can't seem to stop thinking of Steven. I try to give him back to the Lord but I am still worrying. I am sorry I couldn't answer all of you, I can't sit here too long and it has been an hour. I plan to go read something Cindy posted but I have to go back and find the link. Hi Barb, Anna, Margie, Debi, John, Lee... we miss you. Hi Lulu. Back to long hours again or just temporarily? Oh and Seven, you lived in Alaska? They have a lot of earthquakes , don't they? And I used to love going to the pot-lucks with the kids and just getting to fellowship. Those were the days.(Edith Bunker).I am sorry if I forgot you. I am on a new hormone and it's been 6 days and I am a monster or crying for no reason .I have to wait 2 weeks before I can adjust the dosage. Dr didn't tell me, pharmacist did. I am going to try to get me some of our old smileys as I don't even know what you all are talking about when you refer to "your smiley pad". I can't believe I almost forgot Kel! Hi Kel. Hope you are enjoying having the kids home. Are they still there? Well , Love y'all Ruthanne

Happy Mother's Day!Good Morning all! It's a beautiful day here. Blue skies, sun shining, the flowers blooming, the birds singing, and the cats playing...and Bruce asleep in his recliner!
That's so sweet of you to say Ruthanne Thank you! I don't know if I'm a good grandma or not, I just know I love them bunches; but I'm quite sure you're a wonderful grandma to your grandchildren. Yes, we had a good time. My oldest daughter, Michelle, even cut my hair for me while we were there! She said she was scared to death to do it, but she did a great job. I just needed it trimmed so I could get all the split ends off of it. So Michelle cut it while my daughter in law, Melanie, supervised. I was a bit surprised because the kids combined Kaden's birthday party with mother's day so we could all be together, which I thought was really nice of them. They gave me a beautiful pot of peonies to plant or to hang on the porch. I think I'm going to go ahead and plant them. If I hung them up, Bruce and I would be betting on which kitten we'd find hanging from them first!
You should warn a person before you say things like we didn't want to kill you! I just about spit my coffee out all over the computer! I know that you've often seen yourself as being weak Ruthanne, but if you really think about it, you'll see that you're actually much stronger then most women! Why? Because most people simply run away and stay away when they feel they or their beliefs are being threatened in any way, instead of sticking it out and seeing if anything might actually be true or helpful. You didn't though. You kept coming back and you kept trying, and you kept at it until you started succeeding. That takes a tremendous amount of self discipline and self control as well as listening to the Holy Spirit!
If you want some of our old smileys Ruthanne, I posted a link to them in the updated check it out thread along with directions on how to store them on the board. I believe it's about halfway down in the thread.
I'm needing some more coffee, and I think I hear Bruce stirring, so I'll chat with you all later. Have a great Mother's Day everyone!

Cindy, I thought I found out how to send a pm, so I sent one to you or so I thought. I checked board announcement after I sent it to make sure it did not show up on board announcement and it was not there, but logging in the next day, today, I see that it was on board announcements and not a pm, so I deleted it, so I don't yet know how to send a pm from this site.
Lulu and Seven, I view a woman's site for news updates and she lives in Victorville CA, 161 miles from the border. Annita and her family were at a gas station there in Victorville at 10:30 at night last Friday night getting gas for their truck when a Homeland Security charter bus with windows covered over with paper pulled into the gas station also. She turned on her cell phone to video tape and put it on youtube and the video got 100,000 hits in 24 hours. Probably since her and her husband are hispanic the bus driver answered two questions only. The bus had Somali refugees on it and they were taking them to a detention facility to process them. The bus driver also said that all immigrants are now called refugees. I thought that was interesting news. Bye for now, Anna

Our internet service and TV have been out since noon yesterday and were turned back on 10 minutes ago. We lost electricity at 6:30 this morning for about 30 minutes because of the big storm. It's rained most of the day. Talked to my son this afternoon and he said the sky was so dark that they were clearing space in the closet under the stairway in case they (and their 3 dogs) needed shelter. Several tornados have been in their area. Good grief! Welcome to spring in North Texas.
This is the 3rd time in 4 weeks that Charter has lost service. I'm ready to switch back to Direct TV, but hubby doesn't want to because Charter is cheaper.
Our son spent yesterday with us and helped with several chores we couldn't manage. We had a good time. Haven't heard from my daughter at all today although on Friday she said they would be here. Oh well.
I saw a funny notice in the church news in yesterday's paper. A Ft. Worth church is having a Tongues of Fire Chili Cookoff. I thought that was such a good name!

How to send a Private Message So, now immigrants are refugees huh? The reason I ask is because if you do, you can have them deduct those days from your bill. There's no reason to pay for the internet (or TV) on the days when you don't have it. I've done this before and they didn't give me any problems to back talk about it. They simply agreed to deduct those days from my bill and were quite nice about it. I'd think that if enough folks did that, that it would be a great way to gently encourage them to have better service too
That is a cute name for a chilli cookoff!
I hope you all stay safe there! Hi Margie, you must be nervous with all the tornadoes that the state of Texas has been having, especially over this last weekend. Hi Cindy, that is good that you were able to talk to your son, sounds like you had a fun Mother's Day weekend. Hi Ruthanne and Kel. Wallyworld has the best gluten free mac and cheese, only sold in the store, not on-line, Wallyworld Great Value brand, cheap but good. I edited not to use the word because for some reason? it shows up in blue if I type that word. Lulu, that information about the video you asked for is on youtube, the woman's name is Anita Fuentes, DHS, Fema Detention Camps, Somali's and raw footage. She talks about it 7 minutes into the video.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend. Cindy, so glad that your son called (which one was it? I get your the names of your boys mixed up). Saying a prayer right now that he will be well and out of the hospital, soon.
My parents got here later than expected Friday evening because they had a flat tire on their way. It did not go all the way flat, but their tire light came on while they were on I-85 so they pulled off at the next exit and it was going flat; they feel it would've blown out if they hadn't stopped. They had to wait awhile for a young man ("just a child" as my mother put it, LOL) to come do the repair (it had picked up a piece of metal). I asked her what time it happened, and she said around 3:30, which is right when I was driving to get Daniel from school, and had prayed for their safety as I drove along. Thank You LORD for protecting my parents!
Mother and I had a great time at the Ladies Tea on Saturday. It was a lovely program with delicious food. Now my mom wants to plan one for the ladies of her church!
Saturday I had another great surprise (which some of you saw already on FB) -- a mystery package arrived at the front door, which turned out to be a box of chocolate covered strawberries AND chocolate covered pretzel rods from none other than our very own Lulu and Ron!!! WOW what a terrific surprise! Last night I looked up their number because I wanted to call and thank her in person. We had a nice conversation (although I talked too much - I do apologize for that!!) and it was wonderful hearing Lulu's voice for the first time and having a little chat.
Boy if it's this great just to talk to my FH sisters on the phone, think of how thrilling it will be when we all get together *live* in Heaven!

yes we had a wonderful weekend with Jazzy last weekend. She and I spent the day Saturday at Lyn and Daves, she and her cousin Haley got to spend the whole day in the Jacuzzi. we adults got to sit and watch them and talk...Matt and Ron had to work...but daddy and daughter got Sunday together. My mothers day was great also, Matt took us out Saturday for supper and Ron took me to Mi Casa for Lunch...it's a little Mexican place here in town. one of my favorite places to go and eat. every year they have a mothers day bash. good food and good music... we've gone there for the last 4 years now! they know us well..lol...Netty stopped by around 8pm after I was in bed, she brought me yellow roses and a card, ended up spending about an hour in bed with her and the dogs, Mace and Netty's two and Matt just talking and laughing...finely had to kick them out so I could get some sleep...3am comes real fast.... this coming weekend is another Jazz of a Jazzy weekend! Anna, I went and watched that video....Ron and I have been to Victorville...it's a wicked pretty little town way out in the country. We lived up there in Amador county...Jackson..wow, a bus load of Illagel Somalians, you do know that they are the pirates right? ....I've read that many from Syria are suppose to start arriving also..wow...I be looking up for sure! Cindy, glad you had a good mothers day also. sounds like it was a good weekend for all! Lorrie, it was wicked good talking to you also, Love that southern accent...not much, but for sure a little...I know I'm a talker too, especially the first time we talk. there's just so much to say!! Glad you liked them strawberry also..
