Well, 15 minutes after I posted the above, there was a knock at the door and Thunder is safe!!! Thank You Lord!
I don't know how, but he managed to get out of our yard last night and ended up at this house around the corner. The lady who lives there is a dog groomer (I've met her in the past, although I don't remember her name), so she had an opening and is taking him to her shop today for a good grooming. Poor thing is terrified -- it must have been the fireworks all around that frightened him. It will remain a mystery as to how he got out of our yard, but no matter -- I am just so grateful he is alive!

Since we're on a new page i thought I'd quote my last post as it has everyone's last posts in it...I'm so excited and can hardly believe it happened! Do you all remember the videos I posted years ago that showed Sunny playing hide and seek with the squirrels? Well, they haven't done that since he died either, at least not till yesterday; but yesterday they came back and began to teach Chloe how to play hide and seek!!! It was hilarious! Bruce saw them first and ran in and told me so I could watch too. The squirrels never went away, and neither did the chipmunks, they've always stayed around the yard and gotten their food from the feeder, but had stopped coming to the windows and door to play with the cats till just recently. I have no idea what changed or why they waited till now. Maybe they thought Rascal and Chloe were too little last year... Angel was never interested. She always just laid around and watched Sunny play with them, and didn't try to play with them herself. So that's probably partly why they stopped for awhile after Sunny died. I'm just so glad they've come back though, as it's so much fun to watch them all play together!I am hooked on One America news I stop watching Fox news in last six months they add when Al Jazeera America went off the air they sometime had better coverage on international news scene yes it own by Wash Times LOL! glad you found something you like!BTW Reelz channel has new series called Autopsy tv show it based on real life celebrites autosopy report tell me a lot In life and death we are born then live then died it just seem some celebrities need all that drugs to fill that inner empty space in their lifes I was watching Anna Nicole Smith then earlier Elvis man those people are a lot of drugs in them only for 12 hours I am waiting for Twilight Zone marathon start on Sci fi channel and NCIS reruns on USA networks Yes, it seems there are lots of folks on drugs and/or alcohol in the entertainment industry. Enjoy your marathon!Wow, I wasn't expecting that lol. I hope it helps you as much as it has me!Yeah I been binge watching all weekend stay inside I know my wacky neighbors down the street lit up firecrackers last night the bratty daughter going do it tonight I was going back forth on Reelz to Christmas in July movies in Hallmark and NCIS reruns this weekend You sound like my husband; he watches a lot of TV too LOL Yeah I have been staying inside also. Two neighbors used to shoot off their guns, I don't think they do it anymore, both would shoot because they did not like each other, but I think they leave each alone now, and cautiously avoid each other. I like to watch old Christmas movies. There's always folks around here that shoot off fireworks. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear some gun shots as well, but now I've learned to sleep right through them LOL
Have a great 4th!
Yeah you could tell between fireworks and gunshots I could tell the difference LOL! Yep, I usually can too although there have been a few times that I've been fooled LOL
This is the strangest thing, but our beautiful dog, Thunder, disappeared last night. Timothy put him out in the back yard (which is fenced) around 10:00 and when he went to let him in a few minutes later, Thunder was gone. We were out searching the yard by flashlight, calling his name.... Thunder was nowhere to be found. So this morning I was out early, looking again, walking the back yard, driving the neighborhood, asking a couple of neighbors who were out if they've seen him.... he has vanished. He is 11 years old, which is old for a collie, so we've known we won't have him much longer.... but to totally disappear in a matter of a few minutes??? I know that God cares for His animals, so if you don't mind, please say a prayer that we will find out what happened to our dear pet. Awww, poor baby! It's always so nerve wracking when something like that happens. I already saw your next post, so know you found him, and I'm so very glad for you!Well, 15 minutes after I posted the above, there was a knock at the door and Thunder is safe!!! Thank the Lord that he's ok, and that the person who found him was someone who liked dogs and knew how to take care of him too!
I'm pretty tired today so I'm just going to rest I think.... I hope everyone has a great day today in the Lord!

Leigh, good to hear that Thunder made it back home safe.
I remember seeing a horse on the west side of a fence and then looking at the horse 10 minutes later and the horse was on the east side of the fence. I did see the horse looking at the tree on the east side of the fence, and that is where the horse went, to that tree that had some beans on it that the horse could eat. Cindy, that must be fun and relaxing to watch the squirrels and cat play hide and seek. A blessing for you to enjoy. I always feel relaxed when watching animals, for me it is mostly rabbits that I watch, I look forward to seeing the rabbits, it is a blessing.
Good day Kelly, trekkies

Leigh, so glad your dog was found. We're keeping our son's youngest dog for a week while they are on vacation. The older 2 dogs have health problems so they're being boarded at the vet's.
I took the dog to the dog park this morning so I got to see a couple of my old friends there. I finally had to put the parakeet's cage into a small bedroom so I could shut the door. The dog was fascinated by the birds. But she put her paws up on the table to take a closer look and the cage started sliding back. I decided the birds were better off in isolation than in the living room with a curious dog.
Another big thunderstorm last night and we lost electricity again. But the rain has helped.
Hugs to everyone.

Seven, what kind of work do you do?
I wanted to copy here a prayer request I sent to our church: Tomorrow (Thursday) I will be driving to GA to pick up my mother and take her to Louisiana to visit her brother & only sibling, Bill. We haven't seen him in over five years; he is hospitalized with end-stage liver disease and won't live much longer. Please pray for our safety on this trip, and that my uncle's heart will be softed and open to receiving the gospel of Christ. Thank you!
Also, the young teenager who had a relapse of leukemia, Harrison, is doing better after a few days on chemo. That is a huge praise! I copied his update on my FB page, but that is the gist of it.
Don't know if I'll be able to check in while traveling; oftentimes, hotels don't have the best internet connections. Thanks for the nice comments on our boy, Thunder; he's still a little traumatized, but is getting better. Well better get to bed; tomorrow will be a long day.

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't get in here to post yesterday, but I only had time to write one thing and nothing else, so here's what I worked on yesterday: fresh-hope.com/thread/2521/older-brother-prodigal-son
We had a busy day yesterday, and while I enjoyed it, it did a number on my back, so I'm not able to do much today. We went shopping with the kids, including going to a kind of thrift store with 3 levels, that only has stairs. That's what did my back in, cause after that we went to walmart and then grocery shopping and those alone are enough to do me in for the day lol.
The kids are coming over today I think. Our next project is making garden stones and we picked that stuff up at walmart yesterday. I'm afraid that I won't be able to help the kids do it today like I'd planned though, so we'll just have to wait till next week for that. That's ok, it'll give them time to think about what they want to put on their stones. (They'll each get 2).
Hope everyone's having a great day today!

She found him the next morning Barbara, so he's safe and sound now.
Hi everyone! We had two really nice days temp wise anyway. It was in the low 60's all weekend so we were able to leave our doors and windows open all day both days. The only down side was that it was raining, but that really wasn't bad because we really needed the rain. But the temps are doing back up today and it looks like we'll be in the high 80's or low 90's all week. Oh well, that'll be good for the folks that want to go swimming. I'd just rather have temps where I don't have to use either the air conditioner or the heater lol. I'm cheap!
The kids came over after church yesterday, and I got to teach Gracie about taking our thoughts captive. We taught her about Satan and how he's our enemy but really can't hurt us because Jesus overcame him for us; but that he doesn't want us to know that so he tries to make us think that he can hurt us, so we'll be afraid all the time. We talked about how we need to trust the Lord and how much He loves us and that He will take care of us, and a lot of other stuff as well. To illustrate how God takes care of us, I told the story of Elisha and his servant and how God opened his eyes to see the Truth, that God's armies were surrounding the enemy army and all that God did to make everything work out well for everyone. I explained that was why Elisha had told his servant that he didn't need to worry even though things looked really bad to most people since they couldn't see God's army. She was sitting on my lap, so I held her close and told her it would be like if she was clinging to me and crying because she was afraid that a snake was going to get her, only there were no snakes in the room! She agreed that would be kind of silly lol. We covered 2 Cor 10:% and Phil 4:8 of course and other things as well. I was really proud of her afterward though, when I asked her to explain what God tells us to do when we have thoughts that aren't true or aren't good. She did an excellent job of explaining it and covered it all very well! Better then some adults even! I think she liked it because I told her that from now on her Mommy could remind her to take her thoughts captive when she forgot, but that she could also remind her Mommy to take hers captive LOL. I have a feeling she's looking forward to doing that! (Jenn plans on giving her that opportunity soon too, just for practice )
Elijah's well into book 3 of the Left Behind the Kids books now and will be starting on number 4 soon. He's really enjoying them!

It has been so warm here that I dream about swimming in a swimming pool.
That is good to teach a child to take captive her thoughts.
At my Bible study a person e-mailed a lovely born again woman and brought up her past to her and she e-mailed the Bible study teacher and yesterday we did 1 1/2 hour study on Romans chapter 1, a good study about how Christians should know to be above acting in a judgmental way and how we as Christian must be above being luke warm.
My speakers went out on my laptop computer but Ron set my computer up with some old speaker that he had and now it works better than it did before. I can cook dinner in the kitchen now and the volume is loud enough for me to hear.
I have been concerned about the escalating problems our leaders are causing between the US and Russia and the US and China. I watch good news sources to keep up on what is going on.
I have to get ready for my Bible study now, ttyl.
ps I have tumbleweeds growing near my home, it is to hot to go outside and dig them out or at least mow them down. I have spent a few hours doing that last week but most will have to be just mowed down.

That sounds like a good study Anna!
Our country and the world are in very sad shape and will continue to be. Sadly we brought it on ourselves, and are continuing to do so. Sin is rampant, just like in the days of both Noah and Lot. I imagine we can all relate to how Lot felt back then: “and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—” (2 Peter 2:7–8)
I hadn't thought of it before, but maybe that's another way of knowing the difference between someone who's truly born again and someone who isn't. Those who aren't, wouldn't be all torn up about the sin that's so rampant now, instead they'd be busy tolerating it and making excuses for it. They probably also don't believe that many of the disasters are God's judgment against the godlessness and wickedness that's going on now. They probably think it's just "natural disasters" and nothing more. But we know better: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness,” (Romans 1:18) Sadly because they refuse to see the truth and repent, they're also storing up wrath against themselves. (Romans 2:5) I sure hope Jesus comes for us soon!

I'm back in the blazing sun again, happy trails to you, until we meet again, I'm back in the saddle my friend. Maybe that's why I am singing a silly song to you, been out in the sun to long yesterday, but got the weeds mowed down. About ten days ago I put half of a grapefruit rind outside near a bush. I went to go see what it looked like and it had shrunk down to the size of a little smaller than half of an orange rind. It looked like it had cooked in an oven as there was no moisture left in it, so I stepped on it with my boot and crushed it to a powder, such is the exciting life that I have.lol ps Homemade vitamin C powder can be made from dry citrus peels.

I'm cleaning house. Our son returned from vacation and picked up his dog yesterday. She's a sweet dog but sheds a lot so she left a lot of hair behind. He and his family went to Washington DC and had a great time.
Hubby was watching The British Open golf tournament early this morning. I noticed that the golfers and spectators were all bundled up in long sleeved jackets and sweaters. It is still so hot here.
We're having an easy supper of BBQ sandwiches tonight. I wish I had bought some ice cream. A bowl of ice cream would taste so good now.
Hugs to all.
