Saturday was a tough day for us. Bruce had to have an MRI done at 9:30 Saturday morning. He wanted me to go with him, and it's always very difficult for me to be moving that early. But I managed it and thought I'd be ok, till we got there. Bruce is very claustrophobic so had taken two lorazepam according to doctor instructions before hand, but wanted me in the room with him. The room was so tiny though that there wasn't even enough room in it for a chair, so I had to stand up the entire time. (That's really hard for me as it causes a lot of pain) It's really noisy so we couldn't talk of course, and he couldn't see me as his head was all wrapped up in some contraption to hold it still. So the only way he could know I was there was for me to keep my hand on his leg. I used the hour to pray, and that helped. I know the Lord literally strengthened me or I couldn't have held out that long standing. Once we got home I took my meds and collapsed in my recliner and hardly got up at all the rest of the day. Every time I did though, the pain came back with a vengeance. That really surprised me as I thought I'd be ok once the meds started working. Apparently my back has gotten even worse than I thought it had. Oh well, such is life. I didn't do much yesterday either for the same reason, although at least I was able to do a little, and visit with the kids when they came over. I hope the doctor likes the MRI, cause there's no way Bruce will ever let them do another one Yeah, "noc" = night shift. I work at a sub acute rehab/ long term facility. I had rotator cuff surgery Sept 20, so I'm still recovering from that. It takes 4-6 months rehab to heal up. So, right now, I'm not working (except for physical therapy) Back in Feb/March 2015, I was hospitalized for over 3 weeks. I had developed sepsis, and it was pretty 'touch and go' for a while. I had to undergo surgical procedures pretty much every day to clean out the abscess and re-dress it. IV abt cocktail via a PICC line the whole time too. NOT fun. Glad to hear everything's going well with you, Cindy. I remember that about when you were in the hospital...I don't remember for sure, but I think Doug told me and of course I prayed for you, as I did during your latest surgery. I think rotator cuff injuries are one of the worst ones as they're so painful. I sure hope you heal quickly and completely. Glad you came to see us again, Jill. Sad day for me. My son's oldest dog had to be put to sleep today. She was 12-15 years old and had arthritis and heart problems the same as my dog. It was really best for her but we'll miss her. They got her at an animal shelter so we weren't sure how old she was. They have 2 other dogs; both of them came from shelters too. Nice weather here and cooler too. I'm so sorry to hear that Margie. It's so hard to lose an animal that we love. sorry for your loss Dogstaff... You don't get at all excited about the weekend are you Lulu? (((Jill))) - so good to see you!! Wow, you have been through a lot. The sepsis came from an abcess? That is so scary! Can't believe how your children are all grown up! My baby is a senior this year also. And, you're a Navy mom -- you must be so proud of your son! Aren't you in Wisconsin?
(((Margie))) - sorry about your son's dog; that is very sad. Our boy is getting old too and not in the best of health either.
Anna, thank you for the info on Mesquite beans -- I had no idea! Thank you also for the info on hydrogen peroxide. Funny you should mention that, because that very day Daniel asked me to pick him up some from the store. He'd been googling "cures" and found that one (which we've used before, but had forgotten). Maybe the food-grade has to be bought online, but I picked up regular -- two big bottles packaged together at Costco for $2. I can use it for all kinds of things around the house.
Daniel was sick for four long days running a fever & feeling crummy, but his fever seems to have broken and he's up and dressed today, asking to go out to breakfast.
Hello to Cindy, Lulu, Seven, and everyone. Cindy, those are gorgeous fall pictures that you posted - thank you!
I'm glad to hear Daniel's finally feeling better. Jenn has been sick for awhile too. She just finished a round of antibiotics two days ago but now here throats so sore she can't swallow, so it's back to the doctor for her later today.
I'm glad you liked them Lorrie. Hi Jill! Leigh, I also use regular hydrogen peroxide for cuts and it would be good for cleaning but if you all plan to put hydrogen peroxide in your mouth or even swallow it, then it needs to be food grade hydrogen peroxide. There are a lot of comments about food grade hydrogen peroxide at Amazon. Cindy what a lovely red bush in your yard and that is nice that you can add scripture to the photo when I saw that I was reminded of a beautiful flower that I saw off the side of the road while driving in my car. Thanks Marlene. I like adding scripture to pictures. I've seen some beautiful flowers along the road as well, and in other people's yards lol. There's one person who has some beautiful flowers growing around her mailbox. They look like they're growing on a vine and wrapped around the post to the mail box. I wish I was brave enough to knock on their door and ask her what kind of flowers they are cause they sure are beautiful. I'd love to have some myself!Haha, I don't plan on swallowing it!!
I've read that it can be diluted and gargled for a sore throat -- and I already use a teeth whitening mouthwash which I think contains hydrogen peroxide (probably food-grade, since it's commercial).
We always used it on cuts & scrapes, growing up ("boiling it out with peroxide" we used to say), and I do clean with it some. I love peroxide! Will have to look into the food-grade variety. Thank you Anna! When I had my own teeth, I used to make a paste out of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to use as my toothpaste. It worked really well. finely a quiet morning...the roommates woke up on the wrong side of their beds this AM and started right in on the dysfunction...sad really. but it's quiet now and I'm enjoying the morning..Ron's at work, poor guy...I've cooked Ron and I and gone for my stopped a the neighbors to see their ended up getting a couple things, finished a couple loads of put Emily in her place.... and her behavior.....now I want to Vacuum....thinking I can get Matt to for me and I can help him and get started..... Hi Jill, welcome back....I think I remember you.... Hey to Lorrie and every one else, praying your all having a wonderful weekend. I feel encouraged for the next year and beyond, I want to believe with all my heart good things will happen! I be praying! to you all..... Praying for wisdom for you and Ron and that you guys will finally have your house to yourselves soon....Hey to Lorrie and every one else, praying your all having a wonderful weekend. I feel encouraged for the next year and beyond, I want to believe with all my heart good things will happen! I be praying! Hey to you too Lulu... sounds like you had a nice, productive Saturday! Did you get Matt to vacuum for you?!
I feel encouraged too. Isn't that a nice feeling for a change! Still though, I'm a little shocked at the backlash over Trump winning (shouldn't be, but I am).
It's November 13th, six months to the day that my daddy went to Heaven. Please keep my mother in your prayers if you think of it. She seemed to be fine when I talked to her earlier this evening (technically last night, since it's past midnight now), but it's been kind of a rough week for her, knowing we're at the half-year mark. Thank you all. Thanks for reminding me Lorrie. she's still on my prayer list and I'll pray for her as soon as I post this! (and for you too of course!)from the west coast. have you all gone out tonite and looked up? the moon is beautiful. I had a hard time walking Boy tonite cause I kept looking up! lol Lorrie, I think of you and your family every day, thanksgiving and Christmas are gonna be hard on you all. My heart breaks for my cousin also, this will be her first big holidays with out my Uncle...I'll be sending hugs your way Lorrie...and of course prayers.... we had a good but busy day today, it was our thanksgiving dinner at our other church Voyage...they wanted Ron there to do the turkeys and help get the kitchen organized, and I always help set up. we served around 300 people today! it was fun and great to see our Voyage church family again. the Fountain Valley Police captain and some officers were there to be honored and prayed for..and we honored our Vets! sadly there were less this year then past years...we were up and out of the house by 8am and didn't get back till 5pm...long Sunday...oh and we stopped by Ron's brothers to bring him a turkey dinner! he was wicked happy with that! upon getting home I rested for a tat then brought Mace our for our nightly walk...my feet are done! Sounds like you had a great day Lulu! that's wonderful! It's so good of you both to do so much for your church family. I know they must really appreciate it too. Especially since they ask for you guys!
It reminds me too of what the kids told me they did in Sunday School. Apparently they filled up bags for the homeless and each child takes the bag home and if and when their parents see a homeless person they can give them the bag. The hard part is that I've never seen any homeless person at all, in all the years I've lived here. But, perhaps if they just look for someone who looks "needy", that will work.....
Like you all I am going to be keeping busy this month. I think this month will go by fast. Today I am going shopping and lots of other work waiting for me to do. I have been looking at the moon the last two nights, it sure was shining bright as we had clear sky here to look at the moon at night. We are too. Next weekend is Elijah's birthday party. He doesn't turn 11 till December 5th, and Gracie turns 8 on the 11th, her party will be the day before that. So I have to find something for her now lol. It's hard to find good solid Christian fiction books for youngsters. I'm even more grateful for my kindle then ever now, as I discovered that I can download samples of the books and that way I can determine if they're appropriate for the kids and if they're solid as far as what they teach too. They both read well beyond their years, so I can't just hunt for books by a certain age group. Oh well, I found some good ones for Elijah so I'm sure I'll be able to find some for Gracie too. (((Lulu))), thank you so very much for the prayers and caring. It means the world to me. It will probably be even harder (during the holidays) for your cousin, since it's more recent. At least we've had half a year to get used to Daddy being gone, although I guess we'll never be completely "used to it."
You and Ron are such servants! There are always a few in every church (that I've been in) who love working quietly behind the scenes, making things happen for everyone else. You two are a blessing even to READ about!
Good morning Anna -- you posted while I was writing this, so I'm coming back to tell you hello!
Well, our boy Daniel was fine on Saturday and most of Sunday until his fever began rising rapidly late yesterday. Alarmed, I decided to get him on in to Urgent Care right away and guess what - he has pneumonia.
We'd really appreciate prayers for Daniel's complete recovery. He missed three days of school last week with whatever it was he had (flu, I think, and now I feel so guilty for not taking him to the doctor ) -- it would've been four days out but Tuesday was a holiday due to the election.
Being a senior, he really needs to get back and was all prepared to go today -- but now this. The doctor said to stay home another 1-3 days until the antibiotic has a chance to kick in. Thanks for praying. oh dear, poor Daniel! I'll add him to my list right now and pray for him as well when I finish this post.
Guess I'd better get back to praying! See you all later!

Gorgeous day here. I woke up at 1 this morning and decided to go outside and look at the moon. What a sight! Really gorgeous.

Good morning, I did not sleep much last night, I looked out the window at 4:30am and saw a falling star. I am going out of town today but I need to be back home by 4:00 for a Bible study this evening, hopefully I can be home earlier and get some sleep at 2:00 in the afternoon.
Cindy It must be convenient to have a kindle, glad that it will help you find some book gifts for the grandchildren.
Donna gave me some okra from her garden and I don't know how to cook it, I tried the last time she gave me okra to just cut and boil it, but it was so icky that I threw it away. I like okra, I used to eat it when I lived in Florida, but it tasted better there than when I tried cooking it, well I didn't grow up eating okra, so maybe that is why I can't cook it myself now.

Good morning all! Hope you all slept well last night. It's supposed to be a rainy day here. Everyone's hoping for a lot of rain, but we'll take whatever we can get.Leigh and Lulu: Praying for Daniel's health. Then Bruce went out and found it right away. I tried again later and still couldn't see it, so i gave up. I think I was just too tired to think straight. I bet it was beautiful though!Good morning, I did not sleep much last night, I looked out the window at 4:30am and saw a falling star. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon, so have to get everything done a little earlier today.
Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning all! I hope you all know how much I enjoy and actually count on each of you in many ways. Having you in my life has made it so much richer and more meaningful. You are each truly a blessing to me and I thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives, and for putting up with me when I react in my flesh instead of God's love. Just hear on KFI radio look like outgoing Senator Barbara Boxer introduce bill to abolish Electrical college yup infamous college I think to safe Babs just flipped out I hear rumor that girlfriend might be suffering from Demetria on crisp of Alzehimir disease that street of LA and Frisco saying Yep, sounds like she went off the deep end..... but so is everyone else, so it's not really surprising lol

Awe Cindy how nice We all have been chatting here for years with each other. I like your photos that you post with encouraging words or scripture on the photo. Sometimes I think how nice it will be for us to see each other in heaven, freed from the trials of living on this earth. I was able to listen to my Bible study yesterday and it was interesting, it was about taking our thoughts captive. I wish I knew better about that years ago, but it is not talked about much. I will be thinking about that all day until the teaching this evening.

I often think about that too! It amazes me how much of the bible isn't preached today. It seems as though everyone is so interested in having supernatural experiences to tell about, that they don't want to know about the work God wants us to do. I guess that's why many false teachers have replaced God's real spiritual warfare of taking our thoughts captive with all the stuff they talk about today. Yet if folks knew and applied God's Truth to their lives, they'd find they would actually see more of God's miracles and have much more joy and peace. I guess that's also why we're no longer told that Christ came to save us from ourselves. It was kind of funny... I remember after God showed me His Word about taking our thoughts captive and replacing them with His Truth (making them obedient to Christ), it really changed my life as I'd been severely depressed before I was saved, and this was one of the first things He taught me. (and I wasn't even looking for anything about that, but He knew what I needed) Back then, all I had was my bible and the Lord. No commentaries, dictionaries, etc. It wasn't till several years later that I got my first bible program with a couple of commentaries and also began reading articles by faithful teachers who only taught what scripture interpreted itself to say. I'll never forget the first time I came across an article about taking thoughts captive. I think it was by Stanley. I was totally shocked! At the same time, it was great confirmation for me that I had understood the Lord correctly. It was after that that I got the bible library program I have now, with MacArthur's commentaries and those of many other godly pastors. Again I found confirmation and they often gave scriptural cross references which were great too. That helped me alot by giving me more confidence to tell others what I'd learned about it. Or maybe I should say that it helped me feel more confident about what I was saying... It's hard to describe I guess, but I'm sure you know what I mean... Anyway, to me, that particular command is one of the most important there is, especially when it's linked to all the others that teach about our minds and emotions. Daniel is still sick (although he did return to school today so that is good) and has to see the doctor this afternoon. Please pray for him. Thanks! Oh dear! I certainly will! I had walking pneumonia when I was his age and had to stay home from school too. I hated it and didn't want to stay home and my mom knew she'd have a hard time getting me to rest. And she did...till the doctor told me that if I didn't stay home and REST for the next 3 days, I'd wind up in the hospital for a week or more. That scared me enough to make me stay in bed . I hope he'll get better very soon! She went on deep end way back in years be honest I think safe to say any stuff she had it now going into her public life just sayin Well next week I be off for Thanksgiving I am going over to parential unit house on Thanskgiving eve and day so I be in and off line on Wednesday and Thursday my schedule is all open rest of the week Enjoy your time with your parents Kelly! It's nice to see that some adults still honor their parents and spend time with them on the holidays. Bless you for that! What's an OTA channel? We probably won't get it as we have direct TV... But if it's got stuff by Downey, I won't miss it at all. and a Jazzy weekend! this one wont be as exciting as the last, but we'll have fun never the less! we have breakfast at church on Saturday, and our *The Way* Thanksgiving lunch on Sunday! so we'll be busy! I love love love weekends! it's been quiet in here, pray all are doing well.... LOL I could never guess that you enjoyed your weekends Lulu! I'm glad you'll get to spend it with Jazzy. We'll be at Elijah's birthday party tomorrow. In the past, Jenn's always had one party for both Elijah and Grace together since their birthdays are less than a week apart. I did the same thing for my two oldest who were also less than a week apart lol. But she's always wanted to have separate ones for them so she thought she'd try it this year. She's having his early so there'll be a couple of weeks between them, so that those who live a little further away won't feel like they're having to turn around a come right back again lol.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sounds like fun Lulu, you always have fun on the weekends. Kelley, what is a parential unit house? For Thanksgiving I will be slow cooking a chicken in a crock pot . We are back to eating meat, only because it is not healthy to eat the soy protein isolate meats, bad for the liver. There is another alternative to meat, that is new on the market and better for health, but very expensive. I worked all day yesterday, but I don't write about the work because it is boring to woman to hear that I spent 4 hours under a car helping to put in a new starter, then it all had to come out again because the teeth were not matched to the fly wheel, had to take the shims out, and then then put in again and the teeth matched so it all worked. Enjoy your Sunday at church ladies. Cindy do you plan to go to church on Sunday when you feel well enough to get out of the house? Leigh, is Daniel feeling better now? Margie, I hope you are feeling better now, sorry about the loss of your son's dog. I hope your son is feeling better also, it takes awhile to get over the loss of a dog.

Margie, I hope you are feeling better now, sorry about the loss of your son's dog. I hope your son is feeling better also, it takes awhile to get over the loss of a dog. Thank you, anna. It does take a while to get over losing a pet. We're going to our son's house on Thanksgiving and our daughter and her family will be there too. I know we'll have a great time. Colder here. I'm doing laundry and gathering serving containers and food that I'll fix and take to Thanksgiving dinner. I don't have to fix the entire meal, just some side dishes.
