He is good baseball player I think problem was Tim was just too short for NFL he may be great baseball player not NFL player I don't think Mets would sign him to minor league contract if they knew he wasn't that good I have no idea Kelly as I'm not into sports much, except what I know about Nascar cause of my hubby. Hi everyone.I have had a cold, and I keep reminding myself they only last 7 to 10 days and I am treating the symptoms. Cindy I will keep you and Bruce in my prayers as I know when hubby is sick, wifey takes up the slack so they don't feel worse(the hubby).I pray the Lord keeps up your strength so you can continue to help Bruce.I pray the Lord helps his migraines and I am praying for Lorrie to not get a migraine through this weather. Larry's funeral is paid and I got the remainder of his life insurance.I wanted to buy some different furniture(not new) and the Lord put a woman in the apt. next to me and she sold me a full sized bed with memory foam for 100.00 and Steven got my queen size.I also bought a olive green sectional(I had to fight Steven and Christian over it.They said it would be too big for my apt.). It fits perfect and separate my kitchen and dining room from the living room. It's awesome with recliners on both ends and is suede. it was 325.00.I also bought a brand new set of pans and a coffee maker and microwave. And a set of glass bakeware. All that was 90.00.I bought her laptop for Christian for his Christmas present and a tablet for Tylers' birthday Nov. 5th.150.00 for the both of them. I went Monday with Steven to pick out Larry's headstone and it will be ready in 6 wks.We took a picture of Jason's and got the same design but Jason's says "Asleep in Jesus" and Larry's says Waiting for you. these are all things I had to get done, but it does nothing to ease the pain of him not being with me.At least I know he is not suffering any longer. And I have to say,he never complained about how hard it was on him.To protect me and Steven.Thank the Lord ,He was with Lar.That is the only way he could have suffered so much in silence.I miss him so much.I have only broken down once and I attribute that to being held up by Jesus. Now my life can be dedicated to Him alone. Not that I wasn't devoted before but Larry was here for me to take care of and show Jesus' love and mercy to.Love you all and am going to post this as I usually sit here speechless and today I actually had some things to share,Love Ruthanne It's great to hear from you Ruthanne. I'm glad you were able to get everything paid for and got such good deals. That's great! I really appreciate your prayers, especially that you would take the time when you yourself are going through such a difficult time. OH that so sweet Ruthanne Ruthanne, wicked good hearing from you...pray your on the mend from that cold...I went through that last week! Cindy, thinking and praying for you both! AND a Jazz of a Jazzy weekend! Thanks Lulu, that's what we need more than anything else! I'm glad you'll get to be with Jazzy this weekend, as that should bring you plenty of joy, and that's something we all need!
The Lord has been comforting and encouraging me in His Word this morning, as Bruce is still having the migraines. He has another appointment with the chiropractor after work today, and with the dentist (in case his teeth have anything to do with this) on the 24th. I've been pleading with the Lord to take the headaches from him, and today as I said, He assured me through His Word that He hears my prayers. I especially loved the last part of this verse: “He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; Selah God sends his love and his faithfulness.” (Psalm 57:3) I know it doesn't mean He will remove the migraines, though I'm hoping He will, but I appreciate His reminder of His love and faithfulness.

Hi everyone.
Ruthanne, I agree with Seven, that was so sweet to read about Larry, and you, how God is providing, and that you are fully devoted to Him now. As you said, not that you weren't devoted before, just that it is a new season of life now. I'm so happy for you, that you were able to update your furniture, and get some new kitchenware, along with gifts for the boys. It does our spirits good to refresh things around the house.
Lulu, excited along with you for your "Jazz of a Jazzy weekend" !!
Hello also to Anna, Barb, Cindy, Margie, Seven, and hopefully I'm not leaving anybody else out. Hope Bruce is feeling better today.
It's our turn to host our small group from church tonight. We expect eight adults and one toddler here in less than three hours, so I'd better get back to work. The house was "semi-clean" after all the family we had here last weekend during the hurricane, and we had lots of leftover deli meat (unopened), so we're having sub sandwiches and the fixins, along w/chips & veggies & dip, and grapes, plus I made salted caramel brownies for dessert.
Talk to you all later.
ETA: Apologies - I didn't see Cindy & Anna's posts here on this new page until after I posted. Cindy, I am so sorry that Bruce IS still having the headaches, but what a precious reminder from the Lord that He has it all under control. Anna, that is a good question about will we read the Bible in Heaven. I've heard Dr. J. Vernon McGee saying he hopes the Lord will let him teach the Bible in Heaven, because that was his great passion and love, so hopefully we will have the Bible and read and study it. We will certainly have perfect understanding there, as it will no longer be "through a glass dimly" as 1 Corinthians 13 states. Interested to hear what others have to say on this.

Yes Leigh, thanks for the reply. I asked the question at a Christian scrolling chat forum and only one person had a reply. Sheri replied, " We will be with the Living Word in Heaven."

Good morning I have been writing down notes from Bible study this morning and I have been doing that for the last 3 hours, I am taking a break now and will finish after writing here. Thanks for the prayer Ruthanne, nice that you were able to buy a new bed and all. That made me feel good that you said I was a Proverbs 31 woman. It is nice to chat on-line with Christian women. At another site I go to both men and women chat together and that is nice also and everyone is respectful to each other. Well I am off to finish my writing before I have to do other work.

Well Kelley where I live, almost a week ago, another person was shot dead. Not much news of what happened, only that a man went to a neighbors house to get some free kittens and when the woman answered the door the man shot her three time and killed her, he went into the home and had a scuffle with her husband shot at him also but missed and then ran away. I used to see the guys parents all the time on the highway riding their bikes for many miles, to many miles, on average probably ten miles, one time I saw them way north, so they rode their bikes on about a 40 mile trip. They were always waving at cars that passed by and were friendly.

Do you think we will read the Bible when we are in Heaven? I know Jesus is the Word, so maybe there would be reading of the Bible but also all things are new and we are no longer part of the earth, why would we read about things of the earth. I feel now while on this earth that I did not get to read and understand enough of the Bible and hope that we will read the Bible in Heaven, but then I wonder if all things are new, that won't be necessary. I wonder if the Bible will like be downloaded into us. The Bible isn't about the earth, it's about God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe we will always have the Bible, for Jesus said: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) When heaven and earth pass away,is when the new heavens and earth are made for us to live in eternally with God. Therefore we will always have His Word. We are told over and over that Jesus is the Word, He is Truth, the Way, Life and Light, etc. We're also told that it is His Word that makes us wise, gives us understanding and teaches us everything we need to live a life worthy of Him. We will always need wisdom and understanding, and we will always need to live our lives according to His Word, even in Heaven (which will be the new earth!). The big difference will be that we won't have a sin nature anymore and Satan will no longer be around to bother anyone, which also means that there will be no world system to beware of either. However, just because we will no longer sin, doesn't mean that we won't want to know God's Word and study it. In fact, since we won't have a sin nature and all that, it means the opposite - that we will greatly desire to be in His word as much as we can.
No, I don't believe we'll suddenly know all that's in His Word, or suddenly know "everything" like so many think. This is usually from misunderstanding these scriptures: “For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.” (1 Corinthians 13:9–10) Notice that when perfection comes, only the imperfect disappears - the Bible is God's Word and is perfect, so it will remain. Then it says: “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12) This is talking about how we will have full understanding of "love" and will love perfectly, not that we will know everything or know the bible perfectly. Perfect love will cause perfect obedience, and as we will no longer have a sin nature, we will finally have perfect love for God and each other, which brings about the perfect fulfillment of the law too. Remember the 8 verses before this one were all about love. “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12) “The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”” (Romans 13:9) Also see 1 James 2:8, 1 John 4:7-11, and 1 John 4:19-21.
Our minds will certainly be much better and sharper and able to hold much more, but we will still have to use them. If you think about it, it wouldn't be fair if God just dumped the knowledge of His Word into everyone's mind when they got to Heaven. Those of us who have spent many hours studying His Word, and have done our best to apply it to our lives, would then be no different from those who had ignored God's command to study His Word and didn't know any of it when they died, or those who only had a little knowledge of it. I know many people like to think that everyone will be "equal" in Heaven, like some sort of communism, but that's simply not what the bible says. God's Word teaches us that God will reward those who have obeyed Him and will take away rewards from those who did not. They will still be saved, still be in Heaven (obviously) but they won't get the rewards they could have had if they'd obeyed Him. (nor is it just obedience - it has to to with our heart attitude when we do works for the Lord and obey Him.) We receive our rewards at the Bema Judgement, which is also called the Judgement Seat of Christ. We are not judged for our sins, those were taken care of at the cross. We're judged for what we've done since we've been saved. That's what Paul's talking about when he says: “If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.” (1 Corinthians 3:12–15) It's why John, Paul, and Peter all tell us to be careful so that we won't be ashamed when we see the Lord, and is part of what Jesus is talking about when He tells us to build up treasure for ourselves in Heaven that will last for eternity. There are lots of scriptures about this that show that some will have a great amount of treasure and rewards, and some won't have much or any at all, but will still be saved. God certainly doesn't have to reward us for doing what we should do, obeying Him, but amazingly, He does! Anyway, this among other things shows that we won't all suddenly know it all.
I hope this helps some. It's a huge topic but I tried to keep it real short lol Hi everyone.

He may still have one now and again, but I believe the all day and all night migraines are over. Thank you so much for your prayers!
Like McGee, though I'm no where near as good as he is, I can't wait to get to heaven so I'll be able to study His Word even better and hopefully, teach it during the Millennial Kingdom as well, if not in Heaven too! Great weather here. I've spent a lot of time on the patio reading and watching the wild birds. Saw a pair of woodpeckers yesterday. I bring my parakeets out there too and the tiny wrens still fly up to chat with them.
I'm keeping the small dog that I've kept before for my friend. She's having back surgery tomorrow and doesn't know when she will be able to take care of the dog. Would appreciate prayers for my friend too.
My daughter and her family had a quick trip to Boston last week. She said there's so much to see that she wants to go back.
Good to see you again, Ruthanne.

Hello everyone. Margie, how nice that you're able to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather and enjoy some time outdoors... especially since you have such hot summers. Have you been to Boston yourself? Cindy & Lulu probably have, and of course there's Marianne who lives not too far away from Boston. Barb, hope you're staying dry through all the bad rain. That's how it was here, week before last, when we got the edge of the hurricane. Did I see some good news about your son on FB?! Cindy, glad you got to spend some time with the grands over the weekend, and Lulu, we're always happy when it's a Jazzy weekend. Now that she's getting older, what kinds of things does she enjoy doing? What grade is she, this year? Mark, always nice having you pop in to say hello. That reminds me of Jtheb - has anyone heard anything from him? It's been months since I've seen anything about him... Seven, that was funny about the Cubs and the end of the world (not that I know anything about it, but I did recognize it as being funny!). Anna, hope that things are going well out your way and that you're keeping your eyes open for snakes! Glad you have your other Christian chat group, in addition to your FH friends here. Ruthanne, Steven posted a beautiful photo of you on FB, holding Levi, and I never would've recognized him, he's grown so much! He's not a baby any more!! What kind of job did Robin get? She probably does enjoy getting out of the house for awhile. Thanks for asking about our church group that came over Friday night. At the last minute, one couple cancelled because the wife got shingles, and another lady didn't get to come because she was laid up with a headache, so we ended up with only 7 of us, including John and me, which was exactly half of our group (it's a mixed group, 6 couples & 2 single ladies). We rotate from house to house, and whosever house it's at gets to fix the food and do a devotional. We've met with this same group for years (with the exception of a young couple who just joined us last year) and we're all as close as family. Cindy, I really enjoyed your commentary on Anna's question about having the Bible in Heaven. I feel badly about using the 1 Corinthians verse out of context and am always grateful to learn more. (I think what I was meaning with that passage was that we will understand in Heaven, not referring to a full understanding of the Bible, but that we'll know once we get there if it's there or not. I think. Actually I'm not even sure WHAT I was saying. Dr. McGee's statement wouldn't make sense anyway, about hoping to teach the Bible, if we would already know it just because we're in Heaven. Considering it some more, I think what I meant was the Bible will be understood then, once we're in Heaven -- those seemingly "gray areas" that Christians debate, because Jesus can explain it to us.) Anyway, the passage you quoted, 1 Cor. 3:12-15, is one we studied last week in our Precept homework on James 3, in connection with a teacher's accountability before the Lord at the Bema judgment. Which brings me to something else we discussed in class. All week we were in James chapter 3, on the tongue and in Matthew 12:36 Jesus says: But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” So, even though Christians won't receive judgment for our sins (specifically, here, "empty words"), we are still held accountable and can gain or lose rewards based on our words in addition to our actions. We had a good discussion during class about that... about having to account for every idle word, and what that means, and we all agree that we hope the judgment will be private!!

yes, I had a wicked good weekend with my Jazz of a Jazzy. She read for me 3 different times over the weekend. all together 1 hour and 45 minutes....she did pretty good. She can sound out words pretty much, but gets lost from line to line and puts the words in the wrong order some times....She's 10 now and in the 4th grade. she was held back in first grade...she is behind of where she should be, but that's a long story.... every one

It's been nice and cool here for awhile now...in the 50's during the day and the 30's or 40's at night. Yesterday got warm though, partly due to humidity and was in the 70's again. But we're back to the 50's today. Great weather here. I've spent a lot of time on the patio reading and watching the wild birds. Saw a pair of woodpeckers yesterday. I bring my parakeets out there too and the tiny wrens still fly up to chat with them. I'm keeping the small dog that I've kept before for my friend. That's great you can bring your birds out to talk to the wild birds. I bet they enjoy that! Our woodpecker is back as I told you all. I thought he'd straightened out after all these years, or else it was another bird. But I caught him pecking on the air conditioner the other day, so I guess either he hasn't learned anything, or we just attract crazy birds LOL Hello everyone. Oh Lorrie, I didn't take it that you had mishandled the verse. It really didn't occur to me at all. As far as the judgement goes, I think we all wish it would be private, but from what I've read, I get the distinct idea that it's all public, which is really going to be embarrassing. On the other hand, it will show us all that none of us has earned our right to be there and that we all got there only due to God's grace and mercy. I used to wonder about some of us making Jesus ashamed of us or disappointed in us, as well as the Bema judgement and the part that says there'll be no tears in Heaven. But then I realized that the part that says there'll be no tears is talking about after God makes us the new heaven and earth for eternity. The judgement and all that comes before hand, before the wedding supper, while the tribulation is going on on the earth. So I guess there could still be tears until it's all done and we're all ready for eternity with the Lord. But at the same time, I don't think there'll be people depressed or sobbing etc. Instead I think that part will pass quickly and everyone will be much too busy praising God that they were saved regardless. The reason I think that is because God says He won't hold our sins against us or rub our noses in them etc, so our reaction if we disappoint Him or make Him ashamed will be our own, just knowing that we did, not based on anything He's done... know what I mean? I think at that point He will change any tears of sorrow to tears of joy.
Oh and I have to tell you, when I was getting ready to answer Anna, I also realized that I've also grabbed verses including that one and tried to make them say what I wanted them to say instead of what they're really talking about. I didn't do it on purpose, but because I wasn't being careful... I ran ahead instead of carefully looking at what each verse was saying in context. It really shook me up and I've asked the Lord to show me whenever I start to do something like that, because I certainly don't ever intend to. It sure showed me though how easy it is to take something out of context! yes, I had a wicked good weekend with my Jazz of a Jazzy. She read for me 3 different times over the weekend. all together 1 hour and 45 minutes....she did pretty good. She can sound out words pretty much, but gets lost from line to line and puts the words in the wrong order some times....She's 10 now and in the 4th grade. she was held back in first grade...she is behind of where she should be, but that's a long story.... every one That's great she's reading to you Lulu! Reading is so very important. Elijah does well with reading, but messes up in math because he doesn't take the time to carefully read word problems, and just rushes through regular ones and so makes mistakes. It's been hard for Jenn to get him to slow down. In fact, he did so badly, his teacher spoke to Jenn about it so that he can bring his grade up before the end of the semester. Jenn had told him what would happen if he didn't knuckle down, and then told him she could promise him one thing, that she would never ever do what I did to my boys when they got bad grades at the end of the year because they wouldn't do their work more carefully even though they'd been warned.... I grounded them for the whole summer! What was I thinking????? That was the worst summer of my life! Anyway, Jenn told Elijah and Grace about it and so they had to ask me about it. Talk about embarrassing LOL Of course they thought it was hilarious! I'd forgotten how close in age Jazzy and Elijah are. He's going to be 11 on Dec 5th, but he's in the 6th grade.... Jazzy must have started kindergarten later than he did.... probably due to the cut off age or something...

oops, missed the last two somehow!I think I had a mouse in my kitchen this morning, hum. Nice weather here also Margie, warm for this time of year. I lost my shovel, how does a person lose a shovel, that is strange. Well i am off to do outdoor work that i said i was going to do before but never did do it. The i on my old computer is wearing out, barley works, bye for now. Hi Mark. We already had a mouse this year too, but it was last month and the cats caught it almost immediately, for which I'm very grateful! I have this theory that shovels, rakes and things like that really can walk, and they like to move around and make us think we're going crazy LOLIs that normal for them? It wouldn't surprise me if we get snow early here this year as it's already been below freezing at night several times...

I always liked busy days as they went by faster....Hello everyone, have a blessed day today in the Lord. I went to prayer forum to say a prayer for Benjamin Netahyahu and there isn't a post reply there, strange. Well anyways saying prayers for Benjamin Netahyahu. Do you mean our prayer forum? If so it's probably because ours is supposed to be for people we know personally. The rest everyone already knows they're to pray for.... If it's somewhere else, I have no idea lol
My sons, Michael and Christopher came over yesterday for a bit and I enjoyed getting to see them. It was the highlight of my day!

yes I also love busy days Cindy, and it did go by fast...I've got yet another busy day today. Karl, the Boeing Source inspector was there yesterday, to go over boards ready for him, both in process and ready to be shipped to Boeing, so along with those, ALL the paper work had to be in order..I've got a few more to get ready for him for Friday or next week...not sure when he'll be back... Ah, paper work! Where would we be without it? LOL
Bruce took some of the banana bread I made to work for the guys today. I guess they've been asking him when I was going to make more lol. I'll have to make an extra large batch next time I guess.
The weather here's going nuts again. It was hot on Monday, cold on Tuesday, hot yesterday, and cold again today. You don't know whether to dress for summer of winter when you get up in the mornings anymore. Hopefully it'll make up it's mind soon. I know what happened.... someone who hasn't lived here long, must have put away all their summer clothes, thinking it would stay cold. Whenever people do that, the weather goes crazy!
Anna, I guess you didn't see my reply to your question. I copied it and put it in it's own thread here so others could see it too: fresh-hope.com/thread/2890/bible-heaven

Cindy that was good to read that you were able to spend some time talking to your two sons. I read what you wrote about us reading the Bible in Heaven. My attention went to a scripture EPh 3: 8 The unsearchable riches of Christ as the Gospel. ( not KJV) so yes I understand better that we will have the Word in Heaven. I do think more communism(hehe what a way to word it) than you do. I know some people will have more deserved jewels in their crown than others will. Sounds like you will keep busy baking banana bread.
