We've been busy this morning...doing chores around here, we have to re-plastic our windows before it starts to really rain this winter...so it will be a busy saturday.... already went for my morning and cooked oatmeal and toast....

I just kick back watching Law and Order binge marathon on one of the channel I think WE channel I know ION tv show SVU version hate the later episodes I don't have cable TV, just the Internet. From you-tube lately I have watch the old movie Princess and Secret Garden. Right now I am watching The Little Rascals series, that is so cute, I enjoy watching it. Old man Art kept saying he was going to give us a free cable and antenna and we kept telling him we do not want it, that went on for three months, well now we have the antenna and cable that goes with it and the next trip to the dump I will take that with me. I also watch on you-tube a video about death and it showed one guy dead from electrocution from trying to hook up his own cables for cable TV. Lulu, that bowl of oatmeal looks like a bowl of cereal that I eat, Annie's Cocoa Bunnies. The cereal is oat, corn and rice, little cocoa bunnies lol.

Cindy are you expecting snow any time soon? It has been warm here last week about 85*, this week will be around 75*. Well Ron is out of town today, went to get a check up at the doctor's office out of town, so I am here by myself and doing cleaning, mostly just the usual cleaning, but there is one area to clean where a mouse once lived and I will get that over and done with. Ron was waiting on me to clean there and I was waiting for him to do it, well it looks like I am the one who is going to clean that area, so I have my old clothes on and I will get that over and done with. Bye for now.

Good Morning all! We had a busy weekend. I hope all of you had a good one. The highlight of our weekend was playing Monopoly with the kids yesterday. We played it for the first time last weekend and Elijah and Grace caught on really quick. So this weekend was our first "real game". It's amazing how many spiritual truths as well as just simple every day skills can be taught to kids just by playing a game. With monopoly, there's a lot of math to conquer if you want to make sure you're getting the right amount of money. I'm constantly amazed at how well Jenn's taught them. We were always doing stuff to make them think, like either giving them too much money or not enough, so they had to work out what was right. Like giving them a fifty and a one, for a $36 rent. The kids actually did better than we did for the most part as we were starting to confuse ourselves
Oh, remember how I told you Elijah had been having a hard time settling down to do his math work in school? Well, he took a make up test at the end of that week I told you about it. His grade would have been an F for the semester if he didn't do well on the test. He did so well though, that it brought his grade up to an 84!!!! I couldn't believe it! When that boy sets his mind to something, he really goes all out. I wouldn't have thought it possible to bring his grade up that much! I meant to tell you then and just kept forgetting to do so.
Yes Ann, it is and it was a good day! now it's and a Jazz of a Jazzy one at that!!!! I can't wait to hear what all you did over the weekend with Jazzy!sadly it's not a Jazz of a Jazzy weekend for me...but it is for Lyn and Dave...it's a 5th weekend and that's reserved for them. which is a good thing! but we see her again NEXT weekend and she will be going north with us to my cousin Judi's house, she will be (hopefully) be able to meet her 4th cousins!! looking forward to that for sure! We've been busy this morning...doing chores around here, we have to re-plastic our windows before it starts to really rain this winter...so it will be a busy saturday.... already went for my morning and cooked oatmeal and toast....
Oh, I'm sorry Lulu...but I understand, and it really is good, and especially good of you to allow her to be with them too so she can know their love as well as yours. What a blessing you guys are to that child!
Bruce put in a new kitchen faucet for me, as mine was leaking horribly. I'm so grateful he did. I was sure getting tired of constantly having to take care of the leaks. Believe it or not, we've already seen snow here. It didn't stick, but it was snow all the same lol. Hearing you talk about your windows reminds me that we'll have to put the plexiglass in on our porch windows soon too. It's been freezing already at night but has usually been warmer (like the low 50's) during the day, so we haven't done it yet. I'll have to ask Bruce to do it soon though, and take our AC's out of the windows too.
Went to our grandson's fencing lesson this morning. I'm out on the patio right now, enjoying our weather. I come out here every chance I get. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Hugs. oh wow, fencing! That must be really interesting! Great for coordination and balance as well I'd think. How old is this grandson? Does he enjoy it? It sounds like it would be fun. I just kick back watching Law and Order binge marathon on one of the channel I think WE channel I know ION tv show SVU version hate the later episodes I know a lot of you guys watch NCIS (or something like that). We were watching North Woods Law the other day, which is about Maine's game wardens. They were searching for a woman who was missing on the Appalachian trail and discovered her body so the real NCIS was on the show as well. It was really interesting to see them all doing their job, although it was sad that the woman had died. Lulu, that bowl of oatmeal looks like a bowl of cereal that I eat, Annie's Cocoa Bunnies. The cereal is oat, corn and rice, little cocoa bunnies lol. I sure wish we could hook our TV up to the internet so I could get rid of Direct TV. But it would cost us quite a bit to get what we need to do that, although in the long run it would save us money. I just haven't been able to get Bruce to do it yet, though I've been trying for over a year. I think the real reason he hasn't done it is that he doesn't want to give up TV the way we have it now. I've tried to tell him we can get everything he watches on line, but I think he's just not sure enough about it to go for it lol.OH they showing Little Rascals on METV on Saturday morning I been dvr for last few weeks yeah I seen it I think safe to say OTA channels like METV and Antenna tv and Cozi tv been getting better ratings than all junk on tv I know this for a fact here in SO CAL Alone old episode of Emergency beat TMZ in the ratings that pretty bad if 40 year old Medical show produce by Jack Webb start his ex wife Julie London with her then current husband Bobby Troup get better ratings Yeah, We were really upset last month when they took Cozi TV off our channels. welp, it was a nice weekend...busy but nice....Ron and I got one side of the sanctuary windows done, so gotta get the other side this week. Not looking forward to going back into the dysfunctional world, but alas, off I go.... I'm glad you had a good weekend Lulu. So did we. Now you have all week to look forward to Jazzy coming! Well, I guess I'd better get busy....don't want to, but I'll be a good girl and do it anyway lol
Have a great week everyone!

It must have taken me awhile to post as you posted while I was writing mine lol It wouldn't surprise me if we got snow anytime as it's certainly been cold enough during the night to do so. In fact, it's going down to 25 tonight! But then it's been in the low 50's or high 40's during the day. I imagine it'll be a few weeks yet before we get any lasting snow....
Yuck! I'd hate doing that! Hope you're able to do it quickly and then can put it behind you. Have a good day Marlene!

My grandson was 12 in September. He seems to like fencing. You have to be quick on your feet and very alert. He's left-handed like me and his Mom, and from watching the matches, I think that might be an advantage. If his opponent is right-handed, he/she wouldn't be watching for a thrust from the other side.
Doing some laundry and cleaning a little.

Doing some laundry and cleaning a little. I never thought about being left handed making a difference, but I can see how it would. I imagine, you'd have to have very good eyesight to do well with fencing too. It does sound like fun though. I'm surprised it's not available in more places. We worked with swords in karate once we got closer to black belts, and that was really interesting, but scary too lol, but then my eyesight isn't all that good. My coordination is a whole lot better now though then it was before I took Karate. Well today is HALLOWEEN look like LAPD has shut down traffic in West Hollywood because the annual Halloween parade going start at 7pm there One thing you have say about my city Gay community They know how throw a good party LOL! Around here the only parades are the ones each of the elementary schools put on for the kids to march in and show off their costumes. The kids really enjoy it. (I think it's partially because they get out of doing their work lol)
We only got 5 groups of kids last night coming for candy. Bruce took care of them all. The first ones were a couple of little children, maybe 3 or 4 years old, and they dutifully said, "trick or treat" when they got to the door. So Bruce said, "OK, I want a trick!" LOL. He said the kids just looked at their Mom, not having a clue what to do next, so she told them to just do a trick. They immediately began jumping up and down on one leg! I think that was the highlight of Bruce's night LOL. He dearly loves children and always enjoys being around them. They always love him too, so that works out good.

We bought 2 large bags of candy to be sure we'd have enough, and so there'd be some extra for Bruce for when he goes hunting. I don't eat candy and while it's ok for Bruce to eat some, it's not good for him to eat a whole lot of it....but I can't just throw it away either.... So from now on the most I'm going to buy is one bag so at least we won't have so much left over. I got a question for everybody Just asking is too early for Audio music channel on your cable company Christmas music on November 1? Questiun is Music choice doing right now LOL! I got home it being played OH BOy least KOST 103.5 FM play week before Thanksgiving like that weekend it start before Thanksgiving I LOVE Christmas music! For me it's never to early But my Mom's rule was no Christmas decorations or songs until the day after Thanksgiving and they had to be put away on January 2nd. That's how I always did with my kids too and just a habit now I guess.
I meant to mention yesterday that James has a question for us here in this forum... here's a link to his thread: fresh-hope.com/thread/2929/coming-elections-usa

Hi everyone! Things have been kinda crazy for the last couple of weeks and I've missed all the great chat here on Fresh-Hope!! Have to go back and catch up on all your happenings.
Last week I met w/my mother's church group at the semi-annual GA Baptist Senior Adult Conference and had a great time -- Cindy, I ran into that sweet couple from New Hampshire that I met last year whose nephew (I think it is) Bruce knows (Dutch). SO exciting because it's almost like meeting you!!
Some of you might have seen on Facebook that Cheryl had an emergency appendectomy this morning. I'd just gotten into my Precept class and glanced down at my cell phone and saw that I'd missed a call from her, which startled me because usually when she calls it's because something is wrong with Ed. Soon as I could slip out I went and listened to the message, but this time it was Ed calling, very upset, and asking me to post a prayer request for Cheryl because she'd gone to the ER in the middle of the night. (She drove herself!!) At the time he did not know what was wrong, but when we spoke later in the morning he told me it was appendicitis and she'd be going into surgery soon. He has a broken foot so is stuck at home. I called again this afternoon to check and he said that her surgery had been a success, however the appendix had ruptured, so she'll need to stay in for four days to receive antibiotics. Ed really appreciates the prayers for her, and I know Cheryl will too.
Just wanted to let you all know the details.

That's awful about Cheryl! She must have been in horrible pain and probably still is. Thanks so much for letting us know Lorrie.
I'm not doing much right now. Just doing the chores around the house. Yuck.

Hi ladies! I have been on-line less, by choice, finding other things to do with my time, but I do read here everyday. I have felt different the last few days, I don't know how to explain it in words, but I felt like people were praying for me, maybe because John from India said they were saying prayers for Ron and I, but still it is more than that and I still don't know yet why I feel the way I do. I know not to put much thought into feeling, as we humans are fickle. But if need be the Lord will talk to me about it soon, and I will ask the Lord about it. Leigh, You sure do keep busy, saying prayer for Cheryl, for speedy recovery, so she can get back home to her lovely cozy house.

The breeze is cool but it is warm enough when standing in the sunlight. This kind of weather saves money on the electric bill.

Oh yeah totally love this weather I like fall crisp weather kinda remind me of Fairbanks AK before snow came I know what you mean, before I lived in AZ I lived in Nebraska for 10 years, so I feel the same way. My childhood memories are of less ice on the ground than there is now in the winter in Nebraska. With this cooler weather there are no more gnats, last summer I had bites from gnats everyday, especially on the back of my legs behind my knees.

I never did watch Peter Gunn, but lol Kelly, what that music reminded me of was the Blue's Brothers. The Blue's Brothers used that music in their movie..... I think. Whenever I come home from shopping I have to let the two dogs in the car with me when I open the fence gate, then they give me kisses and they always have bad breath, well the fat dog stepped on my sunglasses and broke them. I am going to the gas station tomorrow so I think I can buy new sunglasses there. Well i am ready to go to sleep so...

I was at Walm*rt yesterday and noticed that all the Halloween candy is gone off the shelves and now the Christm*s trees are on display. The green trees were there but without lights on them, so blah, but there was a white tree there with small color lights on it and it looked pretty. I was looking at the tree from the far end of the aisle and noticing how pretty it was, then a man walked near the tree and thought I was looking at him,so he stopped and was looking at me, so I moved on. Are you going to put up a Christm*s tree this year and do you have a Christmas tradition that you follow? I am not getting a Christm*s tree but I like the small color lights and I might buy them and put them around my bakers rack, like Cheryl did one Christmas, I thought that looked nice. The reason why I use * is to stop advertisement from showing up on my post.
