Good Morning all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We got to see a baby fox on Saturday. We were just about to turn onto the road to our house when we saw him cross the street in front of us. We pulled up to where he crossed and stopped to look at him as he was still standing there, and he was so cute! I wished I had a camera so you could see him too. I love seeing all God's creatures. Jenn's been seeing deer everywhere it seems the last week. Usually 4 or 5 of them together. She too has pulled over so she could watch them, as they crossed the street in front of her. the last bunch was a family with a couple of young ones. The kids really enjoyed seeing that!
My son Christopher called me early Sunday and wanted to know if I had any of the children's bibles that I'd had for them or that I'd given to my grandkids when they were little. I told him that I didn't, but thought that his brothers or sisters would still have at least one left. He wanted one so he could read the stories to his girlfriends children. So I called Jenn and sure enough she still had one of Gracie's and said he could have it. Then he realized he couldn't get a ride to my house as Jenn was going to bring it here when she came over after church. He wanted to know if she could drop it off in Jaffrey where he's living. I explained that she went to church in Jaffrey so that shouldn't be a problem. He asked which church and when I told him he was shocked and said that was the church he went to but he hadn't seen her there. I told him that he'd probably gone when she'd been unable to and been absent when she had gone LOL. Anyway he said he'd just meet her at church. So I called her back and told her, and told her to call him and let him know it was all set. Well, she didn't. She just got dressed and left for church. So a while later I get another call from Chris wanting to know where Jenn was... which is how I found out she hadn't called him to confirm it. So I told him to just get to church, that she was there. He did, although he was a little late by then, lol. But they finally got together and he got the book. Kids!
My friend Laura and I had a nice long visit together on Sunday too, so that was a nice surprise. Other than that though, not too much going on here.
Did anyone forget to turn their clock back?
Hi ladies! I have been on-line less, by choice, finding other things to do with my time, but I do read here everyday. I have felt different the last few days, I don't know how to explain it in words, but I felt like people were praying for me, maybe because John from India said they were saying prayers for Ron and I, but still it is more than that and I still don't know yet why I feel the way I do. I know not to put much thought into feeling, as we humans are fickle. But if need be the Lord will talk to me about it soon, and I will ask the Lord about it. Leigh, You sure do keep busy, saying prayer for Cheryl, for speedy recovery, so she can get back home to her lovely cozy house. Sweetie, I pray for you regularly, just as I always have for all my FH friends! Even when others fail to pray for us though, we can count on our Lord and the Holy Spirit to always keep us in prayer. Jesus constantly intercedes for us before the Father, and the Holy Spirit does as well, and of course they always pray in the Father's Will for us. It's comforting to me to know that no believer is ever without someone interceding for them. I notice the weather been getting cooler at night and it been cold at night and early morning hour warm in the afternoon that usual happen on Fall day In SO CAL It has here too. Been down to the low 20's already!I notice the weather been getting cooler at night and it been cold at night and early morning hour warm in the afternoon that usual happen on Fall day In SO CAL Same weather here in southern AZ. The breeze is cool but it is warm enough when standing in the sunlight. This kind of weather saves money on the electric bill. For us it's the opposite because it means we have to start using our propane for heat, and that costs and arm and a leg... But of course in the summer it costs a lot to use the AC too, but not as much as the propane costs.Oh yeah totally love this weather I like fall crisp weather kinda remind me of Fairbanks AK before snow came Me too! I've always loved cool nights and that's something we tend to have almost year round here.Oh yeah totally love this weather I like fall crisp weather kinda remind me of Fairbanks AK before snow came I know what you mean, before I lived in AZ I lived in Nebraska for 10 years, so I feel the same way. My childhood memories are of less ice on the ground than there is now in the winter in Nebraska. With this cooler weather there are no more gnats, last summer I had bites from gnats everyday, especially on the back of my legs behind my knees. Amen! I hate the bugs LOLWell today I was kicking back I notice the old 1990s show Wiseguy with Ken Wahl is on OTA channel on Decades tv network on KCBS 2.2 Next weekend going be Peter Gunn binge marathon on same channel I'm not familiar with them.....I never did watch Peter Gunn, but lol Kelly, what that music reminded me of was the Blue's Brothers. The Blue's Brothers used that music in their movie..... I think. Whenever I come home from shopping I have to let the two dogs in the car with me when I open the fence gate, then they give me kisses and they always have bad breath, well the fat dog stepped on my sunglasses and broke them. I am going to the gas station tomorrow so I think I can buy new sunglasses there. Well i am ready to go to sleep so... Oh no! Oh that reminds me of a funny story about our cats (again LOL) Rascal loves spearmint gum, believe it or not. Bruce keeps some in his lunch bag. He used to keep it in the outside pocket but can't anymore because Rascal kept getting it out and eating it. So now he keeps it in the inside. But apparently Rascal figured out which cabinet we kept his supply of gum in and Saturday morning when we got up, we found that cabinet open. Rascal had grabbed one of the packages of gum but he got the wrong one! Bruce had a pile of spearmint gum and one package of "Red Hot" gum, and Rascal somehow got the Red Hot one! We saw he'd taken one big bite of it, just as we'd come into the kitchen, and then he ran like crazy, and kept swiping at his mouth, trying to get the taste out! I bet he's a lot more careful about which kind of gum he takes from now on! I was at Walm*rt yesterday and noticed that all the Halloween candy is gone off the shelves and now the Christm*s trees are on display. The green trees were there but without lights on them, so blah, but there was a white tree there with small color lights on it and it looked pretty. I was looking at the tree from the far end of the aisle and noticing how pretty it was, then a man walked near the tree and thought I was looking at him,so he stopped and was looking at me, so I moved on. Are you going to put up a Christm*s tree this year and do you have a Christmas tradition that you follow? I am not getting a Christm*s tree but I like the small color lights and I might buy them and put them around my bakers rack, like Cheryl did one Christmas, I thought that looked nice. The reason why I use * is to stop advertisement from showing up on my post. What advertisement is showing up Anna? Do you mean links to Walmart or something like that? If so the links that are placed in the posts are ways for me to earn money. If anyone clicks on them and buys something, then I get a few cents from it. It doesn't work very well, as I've never earned so much as one cent since the site's been open and I've honestly never seen even one link in a post that wasn't put there by the person posting it. But the site is supposedly supposed to do what I just described, although I've never seen it do it.
yes, we always have a nice tree and lights with decorations. In fact, the grandkids come over every year to put the decorations on the tree and around the house. (they also come over to help take them down after the new year) But we don't do that until usually the first or second weekend after thanksgiving.
Boy that didn't take long be honest my Walmart getting Christmas tree end of September seriously LOL! Yeah it well known fact both John Belshui and Dan Acyrod was really influence by Jazz and Blues music that reason why they have Peter Gunn theme song I think ours got the trees and decorations out the day after Halloween LOLand a to ya..... prayed for Cheryl all weekend. the last post I saw was that they let her go home? yes? We were up at my cousins again this weekend. Jazzy came with us. She had a blast, she hung out with Grumpy most the time and she got to drive one of them big law mowers! she did real good. she was a huge help. I saw that post as well, and have been praying too. I hope she's doing better now.
It's wonderful that you had such a great weekend. I'm so glad you got to share it with Jazzy too. It sounds like a great family time and some wonderful memories for everyone.
I had such a nice morning. I spent extra time with the Lord and it was just so nice! I just can't wait to be with Him physically as well!
At least this election will finally be over and we can be done (I hope) with the candidates bashing each other and lying about all they're going to do etc. I'm so tired of it all, I just want it over and done with.
Hope everyone has a good week.

It is Billy Grahams birthday today, he is 98 years old. He once said that the Lord told him that the rapture would happen before he died.

Good Morning all! I didn't know he'd said that too. Unfortunately quite a few people have said that, and most of them are already dead. Hopefully he got it right though and the Lord will come soon.
Anything interesting going on for anyone? Nothing here really, at least not since yesterday. It's been pretty quiet. Oh, I did hear about one neat thing though. Jenn and Bob are having the pastor of their church and his wife over to their house this Friday afternoon. They each have a lot in common with each other, so it sounds like they'll become good friends. I'm so very happy about that! I've spoken to the pastor before and can say he seemed very nice and friendly. Plus, they're fairly close to Bob and Jenn's ages too from what I've heard.
But that's about it. Just going to try and get more chores done around the house today. How about you guys?

Hi Cindy, that is good that Jen and Bob have a church home now, for them and their children.
Yesterday I went to the gas station and got new sunglasses and gasoline in the car. The man employee started talking to me about his cat, so I listened then he wanted cat advice(thud), but then the older woman employee started talking about her cat. It was nice to talk to the older woman but I could not stay long to talk because Ron was waiting outside in the car for me, maybe I will get to talk to her again. This morning I went outside at 7 am and walked to look at the trees to see if there were any dry beans on the trees. I grind dry corn to look like flour, so I thought if I got the beans off the trees I could also grind them fine like the corn. I know that the animals are finding these beans, but they must be getting them from the ground, I look at many trees and there weren't any beans left on the trees. Also this morning I have been thinking that now might be a good time for me to start sewing, I have an interest in sewing but I would have to change my schedule to do so. I want to make a peasant skirt or dress with different patterns on cotton fabric with bright colored fabric also.

Anna, love the idea of you getting back into sewing, and those clothes sound pretty; I hope you're able to work it into your schedule. What kind of beans grow on trees?
Cindy, what a cute story about Rascal getting into Bruce's Red Hot gum. That cat really lives up to his name!! Haha! I've never heard of a gum-chewing cat before! That's great that Christopher wanted a Bible story book to read to his girlfriend's children. I'm glad he and Jenn were able to meet up at their church so he could get the book. Is Jennifer cooking supper for her pastor this Friday, or is it just a visit? Either way, it sounds like fun. I'm sure it means a lot to the pastor & his wife to be invited into their home. How nice that you got to spend time with Laura on Sunday also.
Lulu, sounds like you had a great weekend helping your cousin, with Jazzy along -- who was a great help also! How nice that you all got to spend that special time together, cleaning out and organizing the home.
Seven, that Peter Gunn theme brought back memories of playing that song in the marching band, way back in the early 1980s. Don't remember ever seeing the show, though.
Margie, Ruthanne, Barb, how are you all doing this week? What have you got going on?
Thanks everyone for praying for Cheryl -- I know she greatly appreciates it! She did get to go home late Saturday (I believe it was). Her story is amazing, the way God protected her and got her to the hospital; she thinks her appendix ruptured BEFORE she went... and she had to drive that way!!
Well I decided to get to the polls bright and early today, so I wouldn't have it hanging over me -- when am I going to go vote and how long will it take?? I left the house at 6:15 a.m., got there at 6:20, the doors opened at 7:00, and I was done by 7:10. That seemed pretty good, until John drove in this afternoon from NC, stopped by the house to change clothes, went to vote, and was back home in 10 minutes. Now if I'd waited until later in the day, the line would've been 3 hours long , but not him!
Anyway after his 4 hour drive home, it was nice that he got in and out, quickly.
I had a sick boy at home today; since it was a school holiday, Daniel was going to go hunting early this morning with some friends, but he came home at 4 a.m. with a fever, body aches & chills, etc. He has either some kind of virus or the flu. He's been home on the couch ever since and tonight the worst part is the headache, but he said that's okay, he'd rather have anything than a sore throat. For a few years there he would get these bugs with severe throat pain, but thankfully the last couple of years he hasn't been sick as much.
My sister called to tell me that my 14 year old nephew, Parker, went hunting today too -- his first time ever, with a doctor friend from their church. You're not going to believe this, but Parker shot and killed two deer in the first 30 minutes -- one shot per deer, and they both died instantly (thankfully, since I hate to think of them suffering). The doctor could not believe it!! I think Parker was pretty surprised himself, but he's been going to a shooting range, so the practice must've paid off. Vicki said she's not crazy about the taste of deer meat, but she's going to learn to enjoy it. Well that's about it - I need to call my mom. Talk to you all later!

I went to sleep early last night so I was awake at 2am and checked out who won the election. We went for a car drive at sunset yesterday like we often do, and when we walked to the car there was a coyote nearby that let out a type of a bark, they can't bark like dogs, but they do try to bark like dogs.
Leigh, I keep a jar of food grade hydrogen peroxide in case I get a bad sore throat. It must be diluted with water. There are on-line instructions about that. But that works for me. I had to buy it from Amaz*n and when the man delivered it I had to sign for receiving it. Mesquite beans grow on the many trees around here. Animals like rabbits, javelina, (that is a Spanish word the j is pronounced like a h.) coyotes and wolves. You have probably heard of mesquite wood being used in barbecuing meat or mesquite flavor barbecue sauce. I use the mesquite tree to my advantage like the Indians did when they lived in this area. I am drinking mesquite tea right now from the flowers I gathered for a month, last spring and I will have enough tea to last me until this spring when I can get some more from the flowers from the trees. If I could have gotten some dry beans from the trees this time of year I could have ground them down into mesquite flour. I forgot to do that because I was thinking I had to go to a town special gathering to have the mesquite beans ground down by their grinding machine, but now I think if I can grind down dry corn here at home I could of probably grind down dry mesquite beans, well I won't know for sure until I try some day this summer. I also do all of this because I don't have much money to spend on groceries.

Good for Parker! That's great! Bruce won't have any vacation time to go hunting this year since he used it when he was sick. I told him that after the last couple of years when he spent so long hunting and didn't get anything, that this would be the year he would, since he will only have a couple of hours before dark after work each day LOL
I'm sorry to hear that Daniel's sick and hope he gets over it quickly.
It's funny that we both asked the same thing about the beans
I was thinking it would be a long wait to vote yesterday too. Jenn went at 7:15 and it only took her about 10 minutes, but we couldn't go till Bruce got home from work. I was totally shocked when we went because for the first time we were able to park right next to the door, then we walked it, presented our drivers licenses, voted and walked out! I think all of it took less than 4 minutes!
Looks like you're having a good day today Lulu!I went to sleep early last night so I was awake at 2am and checked out who won the election. After all we have to keep people killing themselves on drugs so the politicians will have more photo opps and get more media attention for all the ways they're trying to fix the problem...
Well, I'm off to do the bible study and then to figure out which books I'm going to get for Elijah for his birthday and which ones will be for Christmas ... I haven't been able to make up my mind.

It was so red it really did look like it was on fire! So I made this graphic with it:

Just a quick 'hi' to everyone. I still stop by from time to time, to see how everyone's doing.
Been really busy on my end. I run a youth program here in town, work noc shifts as a RN supervisor, am 'Mom' to a high school senior who is involved in a select travel softball team (which I am also on the board of directors... was asked after she made the team last year), and I'm a 'Navy' mom to my son who is stationed North of Kel in WA state.
(((Hugs))) to you all!

Good Morning all! Hope everyone slept well last night. I sure did! But then I got a lot of the cleaning done yesterday finally, so my house doesn't look nearly as bad Today I have to work on the bills and determine which of all the books I picked out I'm really going to get for Elijah. I downloaded samples of them all to my kindle so I could read them and make sure they were appropriate for his age...thinking some might not be (and that would weed some out). But they all look great and like he'd really enjoy them! so now what? LOL Somehow I've got to pick just a few of them though or they won't get here in time for his party. Yeah you are so right Cali weed smell like Skunk It all does!Just a quick 'hi' to everyone. I still stop by from time to time, to see how everyone's doing. Been really busy on my end. (((Hugs))) to you all! It's great to see you again Jill! It sounds like your kids are doing great! You must be so very proud of them! Looks like you're as busy as ever too. I hope you're feeling well and are enjoying all the activity too. We're doing well now, thanks to the Lord. What's a "noc" shift? Is it just a night shift? Are you working in a hospital then?

Yeah, "noc" = night shift. I work at a sub acute rehab/ long term facility.
I had rotator cuff surgery Sept 20, so I'm still recovering from that. It takes 4-6 months rehab to heal up. So, right now, I'm not working (except for physical therapy)
Back in Feb/March 2015, I was hospitalized for over 3 weeks. I had developed sepsis, and it was pretty 'touch and go' for a while. I had to undergo surgical procedures pretty much every day to clean out the abscess and re-dress it. IV abt cocktail via a PICC line the whole time too. NOT fun.
Glad to hear everything's going well with you, Cindy.

Glad you came to see us again, Jill.
Sad day for me. My son's oldest dog had to be put to sleep today. She was 12-15 years old and had arthritis and heart problems the same as my dog. It was really best for her but we'll miss her. They got her at an animal shelter so we weren't sure how old she was. They have 2 other dogs; both of them came from shelters too.
Nice weather here and cooler too.

(((Jill))) - so good to see you!! Wow, you have been through a lot. The sepsis came from an abcess? That is so scary! Can't believe how your children are all grown up! My baby is a senior this year also. And, you're a Navy mom -- you must be so proud of your son! Aren't you in Wisconsin?
(((Margie))) - sorry about your son's dog; that is very sad. Our boy is getting old too and not in the best of health either.
Anna, thank you for the info on Mesquite beans -- I had no idea! Thank you also for the info on hydrogen peroxide. Funny you should mention that, because that very day Daniel asked me to pick him up some from the store. He'd been googling "cures" and found that one (which we've used before, but had forgotten). Maybe the food-grade has to be bought online, but I picked up regular -- two big bottles packaged together at Costco for $2. I can use it for all kinds of things around the house.
Daniel was sick for four long days running a fever & feeling crummy, but his fever seems to have broken and he's up and dressed today, asking to go out to breakfast.
Hello to Cindy, Lulu, Seven, and everyone. Cindy, those are gorgeous fall pictures that you posted - thank you!

Hi Jill! Leigh, I also use regular hydrogen peroxide for cuts and it would be good for cleaning but if you all plan to put hydrogen peroxide in your mouth or even swallow it, then it needs to be food grade hydrogen peroxide. There are a lot of comments about food grade hydrogen peroxide at Amazon.
Cindy what a lovely red bush in your yard and that is nice that you can add scripture to the photo when I saw that I was reminded of a beautiful flower that I saw off the side of the road while driving in my car.

Haha, I don't plan on swallowing it!!
I've read that it can be diluted and gargled for a sore throat -- and I already use a teeth whitening mouthwash which I think contains hydrogen peroxide (probably food-grade, since it's commercial).
We always used it on cuts & scrapes, growing up ("boiling it out with peroxide" we used to say), and I do clean with it some. I love peroxide! Will have to look into the food-grade variety. Thank you Anna!

Hey to Lorrie and every one else, praying your all having a wonderful weekend. I feel encouraged for the next year and beyond, I want to believe with all my heart good things will happen! I be praying! Hey to you too Lulu... sounds like you had a nice, productive Saturday! Did you get Matt to vacuum for you?!
I feel encouraged too. Isn't that a nice feeling for a change! Still though, I'm a little shocked at the backlash over Trump winning (shouldn't be, but I am).
It's November 13th, six months to the day that my daddy went to Heaven. Please keep my mother in your prayers if you think of it. She seemed to be fine when I talked to her earlier this evening (technically last night, since it's past midnight now), but it's been kind of a rough week for her, knowing we're at the half-year mark. Thank you all.

Like you all I am going to be keeping busy this month. I think this month will go by fast. Today I am going shopping and lots of other work waiting for me to do. I have been looking at the moon the last two nights, it sure was shining bright as we had clear sky here to look at the moon at night.

(((Lulu))), thank you so very much for the prayers and caring. It means the world to me. It will probably be even harder (during the holidays) for your cousin, since it's more recent. At least we've had half a year to get used to Daddy being gone, although I guess we'll never be completely "used to it."
You and Ron are such servants! There are always a few in every church (that I've been in) who love working quietly behind the scenes, making things happen for everyone else. You two are a blessing even to READ about!
Good morning Anna -- you posted while I was writing this, so I'm coming back to tell you hello!
Well, our boy Daniel was fine on Saturday and most of Sunday until his fever began rising rapidly late yesterday. Alarmed, I decided to get him on in to Urgent Care right away and guess what - he has pneumonia.
We'd really appreciate prayers for Daniel's complete recovery. He missed three days of school last week with whatever it was he had (flu, I think, and now I feel so guilty for not taking him to the doctor ) -- it would've been four days out but Tuesday was a holiday due to the election.
Being a senior, he really needs to get back and was all prepared to go today -- but now this. The doctor said to stay home another 1-3 days until the antibiotic has a chance to kick in. Thanks for praying.
