Barbra Poor cat, I think the cat would prefer that you eat fish sandwiches from MC Donald's. Glad that 21 year old cat is doing OK now. Twenty one years that is a long time for a cat to live. I had heard that the Heimlich maneuver could be used on animals, but did wonder how successful that would be. Interesting that you are growing turmeric, you are adventurous. If I wasn't helping doing mechanical work on old trucks I would have turned my attention and energy more to plants.
Speaking of the Heimlich maneuver, many years ago when I worked as a hostess at a restaurant, a nice man who was eating there taught myself and another cashier how to do the Heimlich maneuver. He told us that a man was eating at a restaurant once and started choking, ran into the kitchen for help, but no one knew how to help him and he died. I would think the restaurant itself where I worked would of taught the Heimlich maneuver. So anyways as it turns out a few weeks later there was a man sitting in the middle of a booth with others sitting to his left and right and this man started seriously choking, three times he struggled for air and it seemed like he was not getting any air. I was right there by the table, but something I did not expect happened, the woman sitting next to him was embarrassed that he was making a scene and waved with her hand for me to go away. That threw my thinking off, and there was only seconds I thought before this guy could die. She was lightly patting the man on the back, probably her husband. Unless the man got up out of the booth I could not get to him and also a thought went through my mind that I could get fired from my job if those people complained about me, so anyways the guy did start breathing on his own.

Hi everyone! It's so good to see you all. I have to admit that I really miss having our old board and all our old friends that we don't see much anymore. But at the same time, I'm so very glad that some of us can still be together here, and fellowship together. It's such a tremendous blessing to me to be with you all. Hi everyone for staying cool today. I just finished 4 hours of work in the garage, nice to be inside with clean clothes and to rest. I have a Bible study from two days ago that I need to listen to as I lost connection during the talk. DH downloaded to a disc for me as I do not know how to download to a disc. So I go listen to that, love to learn from the Bible, the Bible study is fun. It sure is! I've always loved to read, even as a preschooler, but from the first time I ever got my hands on a real Bible, (when I was 12, I've never found a better or more enjoyable book to read and study! It's fascinating! I been stay inside the house have AC on we did have power outrage I try play catch up with my DVR since I wasn't around on Monday night I got Barbarisn rising on History channel also Greenleaf on Discovery OWN channel of course Deadliest catch Greenleaf was good it won't get emmy probably get cable version of Emmys Of course Deadliest catch going get emmy this year for Tech part Glad you were able to get your AC on Seven! I don't know how you guys can stand that heat, but then I guess we all deal with whatever we have to. God bless you Kelly!Seven: Wow! It's waaay hotter in Alaska then here where I live: right now at 11:30 it's 64 degrees. Anna: I am beginning to 'warm' up to your javalina, if it eats cactus, which I don't care for ( at least that's one tropical plant I don't have to baby!!)!. Lulu: 103 that's not great either!! Try to stay cool somehow...drink lots of fluid.
Did I mention I am trying to grow turmeric? Well yesterday, I was grating a piece for some tea and forgot to put on some plastic gloves, now I have 'lovely'(not) colored hands and nails LOL! I went for a short walk yesterday, and had to walk hiding my hands (roll eyes) sigh!
I almost killed our (almost 21 year old ) cat last night. Not on purpose ( tho there are times it crosses my mind HA!) Anyway, Leonard didn't feel like cooking so went to Mc Donald's. He brought be back a hamburger(but with 2 hamburger patties inside), with lettuce, tomato, and cheese.
I am not fond of cheese on my hamburgers ( tho Leonard is), plus I don't need to eat two patties......
So Sinbad (the person who left him here....about 10 plus years ago, had named him ).....loves cheese and hamburger.
Not paying attention, I gave Sinbad a BIG BIG BIG piece..... only..... it got caught on his long tooth, and I think, the main portion of it was hanging to the back down his throat.
The poor cat was having fits trying to dislodge it....
finally I did a sort of Heimlich maneuver on him.....it didn't seem ( at first) to do any good, so I kept squeezing the poor cat, until he was so disgusted with me he tore himself away......
But about a minute later we could hear him chomping away....and then he wanted out!!! Away from me no doubt!!
Needless to say, I will be more careful in the future!
Oh Barbara, that must have scared you! Poor Sinbad, lol. I'm so glad it all turned out well! That's so funny about getting your hands stained and then hiding them when you went for a walk I've been trying to think of ways to "make friends" and was thinking it would have been a great conversation starter if that happened and you didn't hide your hands! I can just imagine that surely at least one person would have noticed and asked you what happened. (on the other hand, maybe not, as most folks really don't pay any attention to other people they see, but it would be worth a chance lol)Well they have rain on long day of the year on Monday June 21 the Alaskan goldpanner baseball game was call after rain disrupt the play at 1:30am Alaska time LOL! Don't ask they called Midnight game it seem the weather upside down I experience 90s in Fairbanks not as bad it been when I was living there something up with weather Alaska get warmer What is the weather like there normally this time of year Kelly?I love reading the Chat here... especially since I'm not much of a chatter type... but still love hearing about the lives of all of you and your adventures... :) Oh, I bet I could get you into a good discussion if I had you guys at my house! You'd have to start talking sooner or later as it's the only way to shut me up! Unless the man got up out of the booth I could not get to him and also a thought went through my mind that I could get fired from my job if those people complained about me, so anyways the guy did start breathing on his own. People can be so strange..... I'd have welcomed any help, if I didn't know what to do, and she clearly didn't. God had mercy though, and hopefully she got smarter so that if it happened again she would know what to do, or at least not to send help away!
We had some blessed relief from the heat yesterday, and it was totally unexpected! Unexpected by me, but also by the weather men LOL. It was in the mid 60's all day! Praise the Lord! I really, really enjoyed it! I felt a little better in the afternoon, and figured it was my one chance to get outside and work in the garden as I can't do it when it's real hot out. So, that's what I did. I wanted to work in both the front and back yard, but only got to do the front yard. It's no where near finished yet, but it sure looks a lot better. The weeds had grown up a bunch during all the hot weather.
Oh as for the back yard, we've been getting lots of strawberries again this year. The kids went out and grabbed some when they were here last weekend and I let them have them for desert. I put them in a bowl on the table and I swear I only left the kitchen for a couple of minutes, but when I got back, they were ALL gone!!!! I didn't even get one!
Oh well, I went out and picked some more a couple days later and ate every one of them myself Speaking of which I need to go pick some more today, but I'll try and save them to go with whatever the kids pick this weekend. Oh, yeah, chippy 2 has the same tricks his daddy did. He likes strawberries too, so he picks one and then climbs up on the picnic bench out back and sits there to eat it, looking into the kitchen window while he does lol. So now when I see one that's real small or that I don't want for some reason, I just leave it on "his" bench.
I think I told you that Gracie named one of the young squirrels "Chubby", well he now has made a habit out of yelling his head off whenever the bird feeder runs out of food, and he will stand on a tree limb above it just chattering away at full strength until Bruce goes out to put more food in it. Doesn't matter what time of day it is either LOL. Needless to say, he's getting beyond, "chubby"!
Bruce almost ran into a huge deer the other day on his bike too. He was with his brother and they both said they'd never seen a doe that big in their entire lives!

I love reading the Chat here... especially since I'm not much of a chatter type... but still love hearing about the lives of all of you and your adventures... :) I was thinking the same thing -- that it's fun reading what everybody's up to all around the U.S. I'm so glad Seven and Barb are in here, and you too Bystillwaters, chatting with us. Barb, your poor kitty! (Sorry I shouldn't laugh but just imagining you doing the Heimlich on a cat.) Well I've already gone out and was back in for the day by 10:30. Am not usually one to be up and out EARLY (which for me, is pretty much before 11 a.m.), but it's supposed to get up to 100 degrees so wanted to go through the car wash and dust/vacuum my car before it got too hot. Finished that, then stopped by Aldi. Didn't have a quarter to get a buggy so piled as much as I could into my arms. Got almost to the checkout and four cans of tuna slipped away from me and went rolling every which direction. I'm still enjoying reading through Daddy's journals in my spare time. Here is a quote that was memorable. It was from 1993, and my mother had a meeting that night so Daddy had gone to Dairy Queen by himself to eat supper. He wrote:
Saw a nice young family at DQ tonight. Pretty, young blonde wife; young husband looked like professional baseball player (since I was listening to Braves-Giants on WPCH); two small boys and a baby I took to be a girl but may be another boy - I could not tell by its clothes. The middle child - Steven - dropped something and Dad called him “Stupid.” It broke my heart. Steven was a cute young fellow with sharp, appealing eyes. Probably three years old. He was blond like Mom. The oldest child was black headed like Dad.Just goes to show that somebody is always observing what we do. Another quote, again from '93 (which sort of explains why he wrote about strangers): I like to write about unknown people; describe them; tell their conversations if possible. Who cares what the Clintons, Bushes, Carters say and do? (This week's headlines: "Three Presidents sleep in White House." Phooey.) Egotistical maniacs. I want to memorialize common man... Everybody knows the big shots. Likewise, I prefer modest, less spectacular writers like Hans Christian Anderson.

Cindy: I really loved your (card? what is the right name for those things?) about what if we treated our Bibles like our cell phones!!! That was such a powerful message for us Christians!!!
Leigh: I sooooo enjoyed the excepts you posted from your dad's journal, I for one would really like to read any more you feel okay with posting!
I thought his comment about 'famous' people verse 'ordinary' persons was terrific! It was especially timely for today when we hear endless gossip about 'famous' actors, rock/rap stars, models, video/net/computer giants etc etc.
Today, here where I live it is 60 degrees and raining. I am glad cuz that may mean I don't have to water...I am a terrible 'over water-er'.....my plants have to learn to 'swim' or die.
I know the aloe hates my watering policy!!! And I am getting a little better with them, thankfully some of my tropical plants seem to be thriving with my endlessly flooding them.
I don't mind you guys laughing about the poor saga of Sindbad, well it continues ... I am not sure how this cat managed to live almost 21 years?
Sinbad has this bad habit of getting underfoot! It is not only dangerous for him...(I can't tell you how many times his tail has been stepped on, for starts)....but it could also be dangerous for us arrgghh!
He will sit by us and the minute we move he runs right in front of us..... Leonard has always had a 'depth' perception problem ( not corrected by glasses) among other vision problems.
Sooooo Leonard got tripped and 'stepped' on Sinbad ( yet again) this morning. It scares Leonard half to death, he does not want to hurt the cat, obviously ( nor does he want to fall again)!!! He automatically screams at the cat and just as quickly apologizes ( tho he usually puts the cat out until he can calm down).
So I almost killed the cat the day before, and hubby stepped on him today, so you can understand why I question how the cat managed to live this long!!

Aha!!! I just found a neat site... all about ( this maybe should go in the cat thread?) why do cats trip us?
link
The photo of the cat looks a LOT like Sinbad ( his markings and eyes, NOT body type tho)...hummmmmmm?
This is a looong but great article ( well I actually haven't finished it yet) but from what I have read so far of Cindy's cats (I think) are what the author is calling 'aplha's cats'....the mad scientists of the cat world) so far it such a funny fun article...but I have to go to our Bible study ( opps it is already past 11 am) here is the link: link
I think any cat person may enjoy her humor and insight about cats!! She has so interesting ideas too!!
Oh Sinbad is mostly an alpha with some beta...
I have always said, he has lots of Simanese in him ( long thin body but with the marking of the cat in the photo. I think his parents must have been a version of 'lady and the tramp'.
He is Very talkie , very very demanding, but does really want to please...sort of LOL Very 'oriental' looking except for markings. He has every body in our complex feeding him and he still never gains a pound! Everybody thinks we starve the cat ( until they try fattening him up)! it couldn't be further from the truth.....Leonard majorly pampers him by buying all sorts of food Sinbad like ( a whole chapter in itself!!)

I don't think the flooring job at my daughter's house is completely finished yet. The parts that are finished look really nice. My daughter might stop by tomorrow so then I can ask her how it's going.
Barbara, my daughter was really upset with the rabbit but she is a special pet of my youngest grandson's so rabbit stew is out of the question.
The carpet cleaner was here. He finished in about an hour and said it did help that he had to move only one table. He said if the carpets could dry for 24 hours before we put furniture back it would be better. That's no problem for me.
Really hot here. I feel sorry for the yard guys working in this heat.

I am eating Keebler triple chocolate M&M cookies, they are good. I hope DH doesn't eat many of them. When I was at the store yesterday picking these cookies out for the first time a woman said to me that she was having a card party tonight so she had to pick out the junkiest junk food she could find for her friends to eat. I said yes for a card party you need some junk food.

Oh, you mean the graphic; yeah, I really liked that one when I saw it too! That cat must be pretty special lol. I know that I've tripped over my cats innumerable times as they seem to constantly get under my feet when I least expect it. So far I haven't fallen, but only due to being able to grab hold of something to hold myself up usually. We're always "stepping" on their tails or something, but generally catch ourselves before we put our weight down on our foot; mainly because we're so used to them getting under us. If it's not one of the 3 cats under foot, it's one of their toys. I don't know how often I've gone to put my foot down and felt something under it, only to discover it was one of their toys. I pick their toys up regularly and put them in one of two large boxes, but they go right behind me and start pulling them right back out, so I never know where one is going to turn up. Aha!!! I just found a neat site... all about ( this maybe should go in the cat thread?) why do cats trip us?

that's a great site lol. I posted it on facebook so Bruce could see it too! Thanks! That used to be Bruce till he had that heart attack and then got laid off. He wasn't planning on changing jobs, but there just weren't any jobs around here for a long time. When he put in the application where he's now working, they weren't hiring, but called him back the next day and said that someone had just quit so that's how he got the job. I was so thankful too because for the first time in his life, he wasn't going to have to be working outside in the heat, rain, snow or cold. He really likes working there and enjoys the other guys, and has made some good friends too. He's gotten a couple of raises and in fact been made the boss of one of the shops. I'm always thanking the Lord whenever we have bad weather that Bruce doesn't have to work in it anymore. I sure hope everyone where you are will be ok.I am eating Keebler triple chocolate M&M cookies, they are good. I hope DH doesn't eat many of them. I've got lots of work to get done today and I'm way behind, so gotta get busy on the bible studies now!

So today we are at 61 degrees and light rain. I was born in New England...as the saying goes: "you can take the girl out of New England but you can't take New England out of the girl".
As Cindy knows ( being a New Englander also), no proper conversation starts without talking about the weather, ( maybe even more so for those on coastal New England where I grew up)... and as the saying goes: "If you don't like the weather ( In New England)....just wait a minute" LOL
So poor Sinbad, his day of woes didn't quite end yesterday.....
He was in, and wanted outside.
I have a recliner by the door and usually my computer is on my lap. In addition I keep a big-ish book with a slippery sleeve on the arm with my mouse on it , ( the mouse won't work on the cloth of the chair)... plus the head phones and maybe a book I a reading, some snacks etc.
In order to let said cat, in or out, I have to juggle all those things ( so they don't fall.....but the book and mouse often fall with the head phones tho)
And I have to stretch stretch stretch open the wooden door one way....and stretch even further for the screen door.....
So being Sinbad he has to go out NOW!!!!!!!!
But when I open the first door....he has to 'think' about it for some time, while I am in a most uncomfortable contortion!
So while waiting on his royal highness... who to I see with his nose on the other side of the screen door, but the semi wild cat ( we named Sunny cuz he is a big yellow cat)...who wants me to feed him NOW!!!!
So now Sinbad HAS to go out but won't ....cuz Sunny will most likely scratch him!
Did I mention I am holding a pile of things, stretching most uncomfortable (oh and the two doors they open in opposite ways?)
So while we all contemplate the universe.....
The wooden door escapes my foot and shoves Sinbad straight out the open screen door directly into Sunny!
I didn't see what happened cuz the wooden door shut inself on Sinbad and the screen door shut itself ( which it usually never does).
However when Sinbad wanted in about an hour later ( he eats about every hour) he was sortof holding one eye closed sigh!
I usually plop a big dollop of 3 in one antibiotic in such eyes.....but he was shaking his head so hard he loose his balance ( something in his ear)....
I had to make a choice.....he would not allow one ministration never mind two!
Therefore, I did the ear and that seemed to help...he was struggling madly, but at one point he totally stopped...like...oh that feels so much better!
And the next hour (or the hour after that hour),when he waltzed back in, his eye seemed fine ( I had a feeling Sunny only half heartily swiped at him).
I have no idea how this cat has lived so long....they are supposed to have nine lives as the old saying goes ..... but Sinbad used his nine lives up, years and years ago!!!!

I think of you and your's in my quiet time with the Lord as well... the last couple day's it's been nice here. But the temps are to go up over this weekend. it's good to be in reality for a couple days..... Barbra, are you still painting? it's been such a long time since I've painted...ugh.... Cindy, that's wicked cool about the squirrels in the yard, I love feeding them at our park. Some come up pretty close, even with Mace there... headed out the door to the doggy park to let Mace run. My angle is sour tonite so I'm not wanting the walk....

I have no idea how this cat has lived so long....they are supposed to have nine lives as the old saying goes ..... but Sinbad used his nine lives up, years and years ago!!!! wow Barbara! I love how you write so we can all visualize what happened LOL. That poor cat, lol, I guess yesterday just wasn't his day. I hope today goes better for him!
You're so right about the weather lol. Right now it is about 72, but due to humidity etc, it feels like it's 81 and that's what really counts. So to me it's hot!HA HA I used to have cat like that she think she was queen of Sheba well those days Cats were consider God in ancient Egypt LOL! It been warm here not as hot like last weekend it is warm I think our summer has began in SO CAL the fire still going they get handle on it only 20 percent containment on infamous San Gabriel Fire Glad it's a little cooler for you!Yesss I was watching BBC world news and CNN inteernatial over Brits telling EU hasta la vista baby on their exit is me or what is Richard Quest high on cocaine that dude is HYPER he need quit the coke habit or too much coffee I saw that on the news last night. Hey Cindy, Ron is the #1 son, Darrell is the #2 son, Robert is the #3 son. the oldest kid is Donna, #1 daughter, and then the baby is Lisa, 5 altogether. Donna couldn't make it and Robert is to sick to travel. Your prays are very much welcome! My angle is sour tonite so I'm not wanting the walk.... gotcha! Thanks for telling me Lulu. Guess I'll have to go admit that I was wrong to Bruce lol. He insisted that Darrell was Ron's brother and I kept saying, no, he can't be cause his brother's name is Robert! LOL Oh well, Bruce is used to be right, but this will just make his head bigger! I'm still praying for Robert and all of you, and if there's anything special anyone needs prayer for please feel free to let me know. I always appreciate any prayers sent to the Lord for me, thank you! Bruce is fixing the kitchen wall right now, and then we have to go shopping. So I guess I'd better get going on the bible study or I won't have time to write anything today! Hopefully he won't be done for awhile....
Have a good day everyone!

Today our daughter is going to have an early day birthday party for our grandson Devon, who will be 9 in July. The weather should co-operate and be about 69 degrees and partly cloudy ( she is going to hold it out in a park).
It will be the first really kids party Devon ever has been to or had, because Hossanah can not let him go to parties, due to a 100 percent fatal peanut allergy.
She cannot trust that some other child's mom is going to monitor 100 percent that no other child ( never mind some other child's mom) won't have any food with peanuts inside.
The food item doesn't even need to 'have' peanuts, or p-nut oil, etc in it, it only needs to have come from a factory that makes a different item at the opposite end of a huge factory, to kill a person with so severe a nut allergy.
In fact, last year, a young girl was at a fair, the parents question the candy apple seller intensely about if there were any p-nut items in her booth.....absolutely NOT, she said.
Well, there WAS 'something', because the child died, and an Emergency person who was right there, could not revive the child. The reason for an early day, is he and his older ( 14 yrs) sister, go each summer for a month to 6 weeks, to visit their dad, and older 1/2 sister. Talk about a crazy situation, they will soon have yet another ( 3rd partner for their dad) younger brother who will be born in a couple of mts. Oh the older sister, lives with her mom, and comes over to visit ( a day here and there) with Devon and Vanessa while they are in Cal.
Plus, the dad has been pressuring Devon big time to come and live with him and his present pregnant girlfriend. poor Devon he is soooo torn.
I do understand Devon's dilemma, having gone thru with both my bio mom and adopted mom each sitting in the living room asking me who I wanted to live with. ( I was a bit younger than Devon tho). Anyway, the party should be neat for Devon to have a 'real' party, not just family. speaking of which, 2 of Hossanah's fiance's children are visiting him, because one of his ex girlfriend had another baby, and is not doing so well. ( He also has 2 more children). Just another day in the crazy world we live in now. Anyway, those two children will of course also be at the party!

Have a blessed day today ladies!Hi Kelly, speaking of Dracula, last night I watched a movie with Boris Karloff and Robert Mitchum, Tap Roots, and the movie was in color! For some reason that movie reminded me of the movie, How Green Is My Valley.
Hi Barbra that is to bad that Hossanah has a fatal food allergy to peanuts. I have heard stories about people with such allergies. He needs to be healed by the Lord.
Lulu, I hope you had a relaxing time at the dog park. I have to laugh at thinking of me taking my dogs to a dog park, the meanies, that would not work. DH forgot to feed them yesterday so they ate a rabbit and I had to bury what was left. At least they share their food and don't fight with each other.
I have been juicing apples, carrots and what ever else I have to juice, like right now that is lettuce. I use the pulp to make vegan burgers. The vegan burgers are good and the dogs like to eat them also. It also saves money on the food bill.
Cindy,Magie and Leigh I hope you were blessed today at church.

Still hot here. I'm almost finished cleaning house and putting things back where they belong.
Lost one of the mockingbirds to a neighborhood cat that comes in my yard at night. Found scattered feathers in the yard this morning. So sad.
I miss the people we had here too.

Sorry I didn't make it in here yesterday. To be honest, I simply got my nose stuck in God's Word and when I came up for air, it was already afternoon and I hadn't done anything since I woke up but study His Word, so I had to rush to get at least something done before Bruce got home from work! Today our daughter is going to have an early day birthday party for our grandson Devon, who will be 9 in July. That's so hard on a child. I went through that after my parents divorced and had to go to court and state who I wanted to live with. I was so scared and hurt. Even then I knew God and His Word though, and I remember praying and asking the Lord to help me know what to say. When I did, He brought a verse to my mind that said, “But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” (Matthew 10:19–20) I was so relieved, and being a child (I was 12) I totally trusted in what God said. When we got to the court room, the judge called me up to be sworn in, and my daddy stood up and asked the judge not to allow it. He said he didn't want to put me through that and would therefore just deal with my mother himself. Of course the judge granted my dad's request and everything was OK after that. At least for me it was lol. Anytime a child is asked to choose though, by either parent, it's hard and very unfair. That's what my Dad realized (I'm quite sure that the Lord put it in his heart at that time) The parents are supposed to protect and nurture the child, not fight over them. Sadly this happens though even in homes where there hasn't been a divorce, as strange as it may sound. I pray the Lord will guide your grandson and use this to draw him even closer to Him.

Thanks Marlene, but I didn't get to go to church. They changed their starting time to an hour earlier, which makes it harder for me, and Sunday I wasn't feeling well at all anyway, so never made it. Anna: It's not actually our daughter Hossanah that has the peanut allergy but her son ( our grandson) Devon who has the peanut allergy ( and asthma, and one foot turn outward when he walks....which may be able to be fix with a brace.
Seven:
I am with Cindy, I am not a horror fan...tooo scary for starts!!!
I suppose if I ever get caught in secular movies or TV series, it is occasionally has a more sci-fi, futurist leaning, only because it is so clear and evident to me, (what for lack of better word) 'brain washing' the NWO elitists are foisting on the unsuspecting public.
Their agenda is often right in your face, but also is done with symbols, music, subliminally etc.
But people get caught by the 'beautiful' people and great acting, and the story line, the characters.......and tend to miss what the true message is that is being sent ( especially to the young).
It seemed like person of Interest (one I got caught up in) more or less is going to end the series doing the right thing....yet they play very heavily of the emotional relationship with the AI ( I hope this is not a spoil alert) but I am certain Finch will kill it.
But then the producer Jonathan Nolan is going to do another mini series based on Westworld ( a movie I never saw) but instead of the AI's being the scary bad things (I think they were in the movie)....
The new mini series will be where the AI's question whether they really want to be like their human basically evil 'Creators'..
(who are ruining the environment etc etc. haven't we heard this before?).....doesn't that sound a bit satanic, dark and scary.....
there is a big push for trans-humanism where AI's will be our gods, lifting us to a new 'advanced' level and by merging with artificial intelligence will allow humans to become eternal ( talk about a horror show)
Now I am SURE I have heard that before...
knowledge ( so eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil) will allow you to be as God...who said that??? oh yeah satan....
These series are like watching a train wreck, as I am sure Westwood will be....the humans are evil and the good are the AI's.
But people are asleep, they don't see what satan is selling them, one thing you notice is God is never in these....its either all humanism, aliens, AI's but the solution is never Jesus/God.
Oh well sometimes 'spiritualism', witches, wizards, magic, demonic beings, powers, super powers, super humans, computers, geniuses, etc. are 'the answer'... but Jesus....never 'sells'!
There is very little to watch...
because to see how the NWO ( and satan and his demons behind them).... use actors, beautiful people music, special effects, etc.
to help 'educate' the masses (more like put them to sleep, keep them busy, and on chats talking about the latest twist in the plots etc.), is getting very hard to stomach....because for many it keeps them entertained on the road to hell!
I am not immune to this, but the Lord has been merciful to me, he shows me when I get trapped in the web of a show, what is really really going on, almost from the start.
Just one other series i will mention that I could not finish watching.... the series Continuum
with its endless alternate universes and the boy genius who makes it all possible (time travel and alternative universes....which so reminded me of CERN's agenda)
and government vs. big corporations vs police state, and those people opposing.....and double and triple selves....
But what was the main ideology being push?
We are our own masters of ourselves, we can 'choose' to be 'good' instead of 'evil' ( nothing about God).
it just got darker and darker and darker....I could see some very sensitive young people getting so depressed by it hopeless and confusing theories.... they might even consider suicide...
and yet the main actress was very good, beautiful etc. all were the actors were appealing characters....
for a very satanic message!!!
And yeah it sounded a lot like how today's world is becoming, with out the Lord.

Wow Barb, that is very insightful commentary on current sci-fi/futurist programs. I dislike those kinds of shows (actually watch almost zero TV to begin with), however my DH enjoys sci-fi and I will admit to getting caught up in Person of Interest when he was working through that series, although eventually it got too weird for us.
Anyway that whole genre doesn't sit well with me... when it's on in the family room and I'm in the kitchen working, even the background music gives me a creepy feel. I don't like it, not one bit!
Oh well, just popping in for a quick hello. Still busily at work on the pastor search team, so that's taking a good portion of my online time. We've received around 250 resumes.
ETA: I hope Devon enjoyed his birthday party. You've mentioned his peanut allergy in the past, and I do remember when that young girl died last summer. What a frightening thing to live with. Do they think he will ever outgrow the severity of the allergy?

Thank You Leigh! One of the reason I got into POI is I greatly suspect that after 911 the government may have indeed activated at least a smaller version of Finch's AI (well actually maybe more like the more sinister Samaritan one).
I think those in power often may have things waaaay before the general public knows about them. However, they seem to use movies, TV series, music etc. to incrementally get the 'masses' used to the idea ( in a favorable way).
About Devon's peanut allergy, there are a few specialists who claim they can work even with a 100 percent fatal allergy. There are degrees of just how allergic people are. Devon has had a battery of tests and has many allergies, but some are only 50 percent, some 25 percent and less....those items may have a fair to good chance of his outgrowing them.
But for some odd reason the p-nut allergy (especially if it is at 100 percent ) is a very difficult one.
So our daughter, has an epi-pen, inhaler, etc. in the house, car and every where they go. Every new restaurant means asking if they have any dish with -peanuts in it, or p-nut oil etc. etc.
Like I mentioned before, it is a real bummer, because an item can be actually 100 percent p-nut free...
but...
if somewhere in the factory, all the way at the other end, on completely different equipment, they have tree nuts, the dust from those nuts can blow across a huge giant factory, and a small particle of nut dust can land on the peanut free item, and that would be fatal to Devon.
I asked Hossanah yesterday if his dad was as careful as she is, and she said: No, but his fiance is.
The problem is the fiance is now 7 mts pregnant and may not be with Devon and his dad, if they go out to eat by themselves (like when the baby will be an infant at Christmas).
Our grandchildren go again to see their dad during Christmas break ( not to mention his dad trying to get Devon to move in with his dad).

knowledge ( so eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil) will allow you to be as God...who said that??? oh yeah satan....
And yeah it sounded a lot like how today's world is becoming, with out the Lord. yeah, and they wonder why kids are committing suicide more often now....Wow Barb, that is very insightful commentary on current sci-fi/futurist programs.
Good to hear from you Lorrie. How is the search coming along? What do you do, look up pastors and listen to their sermons they preached at another church? How's John doing on the Remicaid? I'm still praying for him and hope it's working well for him!Thank You Leigh!
That's too bad about his allergy, but he can still have a normal life even with the allergy. Those epi pens are a great help and a real life saver. My daughter has them for Elijah as he tested at 100% allergic to many different things. They told him about his allergies when they found out about them years ago and about the epi pen works and knows when he would need it. The Lord blessed us about that though as the last time he was tested, he wasn't as badly allergic to many of the things as he used to be, but still needs the pen for some of them. His asthma used to be really bad, in fact he's been hospitalized twice because of it, but the Lord has healed him from a lot of that now too. It's not completely gone by any means and he still uses one inhaler at night, but he's off all the other meds, inhalers and nebulizer. We're hoping he will be able to come off of that this summer when he sees the doctor again.
Just remember that God is in control, not the allergy, or the parents, or the restaurants or anyone or anything else. Your prayers will help protect him and heal him from it too. (because even though doctors say it's hard or impossible, nothing is impossible with God!)
