This has been a busy week. Our grandson had a great time at the Night of Bethlehem. This year they offered camel rides as well as pony rides but he didn't want to try that.
Sunny day here and not cold. I'm doing laundry - what an exciting day, right?
Hugs.

Hi everyone. It's been a difficult and emotional few days, between the horror and sadness over the shooting in California on Wednesday, plus some things that happened at church that night, plus a couple of other issues.
Headed off to choir practice for our Christmas musical. Love to everyone.

Good to read that Marianne is doing well, I was wondering how she was doing. Interesting Cindy about the Medicare B. You knew to do what was right; and one woman who lied when you talked to her. That is a lesson for now days to always talk to more than one person when dealing with matters of importance.

That doesn't always work either because I must have spoken to at least 5 or 6 different people, both about getting part B and about getting financial help and medicaid in the past. I also realized last night that I may have been misinformed yet again because all the commercials say that part b enrollment is only open till Dec 7th, which is why I was calling during the first week of December. but now they've told me to wait till January???? Something's very wrong here....
I'm so sorry you've had such a hard week Lorrie. Remember, we love you and you're in our prayers!
Camel rides...that would be interesting! I'm glad your grandson had such a good time Margie!
I was ahead of myself yesterday. I kept thinking that yesterday was Saturday lol, but it wasn't. So it's today that the kids are coming over to decorate. Jenn just called me to tell me too that they're going to postpone the kids birthday party till next Sunday because Gracie's had a tummy ache the last two days. We're still going to give them their gifts tonight though. So now I have to get going as I need to finish cleaning things up and get out all the Christmas stuff for them before they arrive.
Love you guys! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hugs to you, Lorrie. Hope your day goes better.
Went to my Sunday School party this morning. It was held in a party barn. A little chilly for me but we had a great time.

Today is December 7th, I am remembering my father-in-law today as he was in the Navy during world war 2. I remember his war stories. December 7th the bombing of Pearl Harbor, a day that will live on in infamy.
I read a neat recipe if a person likes chocolate chip cookies and want to make some for the Holiday's, just add sprinkles to the mix and when baked the chocolate chip cookies will be more colorful.

Hello everyone! You are all so sweet, comforting me when I was discouraged the other day. You're the best! Actually all the terrorist stuff is getting to me, but if I can leave the TV off (which is easy to do) I don't think about it so much. But it was all so fresh on Thursday, after the shootings in CA on Wednesday. I had to go to Daniel's school for an appointment on Thursday morning with his counselor about his senior schedule (my baby will be a SENIOR next year - where's that smiley that throws itself down crying, from the old board, I need that one now). Sitting in the school waiting for him to get there I started looking around, thinking how vulnerable our schools are. I then realized that if the worst happens to a Christian as far as a terror attack, that person goes instantly to be with the Lord-- of course we all know that, but it was a sense of peace to realize that a Christian is truly fine. So I was feeling much better and stronger.... THEN, two hours later was having lunch with 3 friends in my ladies small group. We were eating at this tiny sandwich shop when in walked two Middle-Eastern young men and before I could even think otherwise, my heart jumped into my throat and once again I felt a deep fear and vulnerability. Just breaks my heart how much our country has changed over my boys' lifetime, and to know that things will never be the same here as they used to be. Anyway, did not really mean to go into all that here on chat, but since I did, it's time to get off the computer now, so talk to you all later.

Hi Leigh,
I understand how you feel sorrow about how our country is changing, and I feel for you, of course I feel sad about it also. I remember hearing a pastor on-line warn people to be careful where they go, like what end of town they are in, or what building they walk into. I felt what he said was true and I said to myself, why do I always have to learn such things like this the hard way by actually making the mistake and needing the Lord to rescue me from danger. I have been rescued from evil many times and from different nationalities of people.

More big hugs to you, Lorrie. Hope you are feeling better.
When I see neighborhood kids waiting for the school bus I pray that the Lord would put a hedge of protection around them. When I was a kid I liked going to school (and church) because they were safe places. Not anymore! But violence can happen anywhere. I went out to the mailbox about an hour ago and saw 3 police cars and the constable's car at a house at the end of our street. I've seen 1 patrol car there before but I don't know the people so I have no idea what was going on that required all those officers. Didn't hear shots fired but I'm so hard of hearing that I can't hear much of anything.

man Lorrie can I ever relate to what you said! that right there is a lot of the source of my sadness at times...then throw in there wayward kids....yup, takes some time to work through it is all....then the strength of the Holy Spirit grabs hold and the joy is back... Cindy, sending up prayer for you! been an ok week thus far....did have pretty sad days Monday and Tuesday, for a lot of the same reasons Lorrie gave, but also because of our Netty...

Thanks Lulu.
I'm sorry you're all having sad days lately, I think many of us feel that way at times. It hurts our hearts that people have set aside their consciences and allowed evil to run wild in their lives and lead them to Hell. It hurts us because it hurts our Lord and He dwells in us. Somehow, we've got to let them know about Jesus and let Him change their hearts..... but how???
Sorry, today's still not good for me, so I'll have to try and catch up tomorrow. I didn't do anything at all yesterday except doze in my chair, so I'm way behind already. Don't know how I'll catch up, but somehow I will. God bless you all!

Cindy, so glad you are back and (hopefully) better! (And by the way, thank you for answering my PM the other day - I haven't written you back but need to.) It's been quite a rushed week and the weekend doesn't look to be any less busy... my parents are driving over today from GA to hear the church Christmas musical that I'm playing in (so lots of piano practice this week)... Mother is going with me to a friend's Christmas open house tomorrow... Timothy turned 22 yesterday... Daniel's school had a ring ceremony last night for the students getting class rings (did you know they DO that now? I didn't. Daddy & I picked up my class ring at the jeweler without any fanfare, but now the school has a ceremony to "present" them.) Oh, and I got a call at 11:00 Tuesday night, when John was out of town and I was alone, that Daniel had been stopped on his way home from work for speeding. My heart pounded for a full hour because of course, you think the worst when the POLICE call. Anyway it's a long story, but suffice it to say, Daniel is in quite a bit of trouble. At least the officer said Daniel was very polite to him. (Daniel was scared to death, and rightfully so!) Anyway, other things going on too, just trying to stay on top of it all. My cousin just texted me that she's on her way to the ER with my 83 year old aunt, who has been sick with pneumonia. Please pray for them! Love to everyone and I apologize for not talking to everyone personally....

It is windy outside, and Anna the dog wants to play catch, so I will go outside and play with her. It is a good morning for a cup of tea. I don't need someone to respond to all my chat posts, so don't feel like it is necessary, I would not want to be ignored completely though. Bye for now, praying for your aunt Leigh.

Enjoy your day, playing catch with the dog, and savor that cup of tea.

Lorrie, praying for you and your family.
We went to one grandson's concert at school. Got home about 10:00 PM so I was really tired. Getting Christmas things ready. Our tentative plan is for our kids/grandkids to come to our house the day after Christmas. I'm stocking up on snacks and munchies.

I always forget that it's your dog that's named Anna LOL. I'm sorry if I haven't replied to you hon. I try to make most of my replies in general unless I'm specifically answering someone, so in that way they're to everyone. I do love reading yours though!
wow, Lorrie, you have had your hands full! Sounds a lot like what's been going on at my house. I hope things calm down for you soon and hope that your aunt is ok too. They have a ceremony for that now??? Well if they do, I sure hope they pay for it, or else the parents should get something too LOL
Sounds like you'll have a houseful Margie. I always try to keep stocked up on snacks for the grandkids too lol. It's always the first thing they ask for when they come over!
By the way, Michael's been in the hospital yet again since he left our house on December 1st. He needs a lot of prayer...

You went surfing Lulu?!?! Sounds like a great day you had there! Last Saturday you mention that Ron cooked breakfast for church and I thought, "Just like old times!" [for him]. Poor Michael-- Cindy, so sorry to hear he's back in the hospital. Praying he feels better and stronger today. Margie, what kinds of foods will you have for the day after Christmas when the grandchildren come? Does that mean you and your hubby will be alone for Christmas day? Thank you for the Christmas card; you are always so thoughtful. I haven't sent out the first one yet this year. Anna, hope you had a happy Saturday. Well it's time to leave for church in a few minutes. Didn't sleep well last night in anticipation of playing for the musical this morning at 10:30 EST, so if any of you see this before then, a prayer that all goes well would be greatly appreciated. (I had said earlier that they were going to have me play the keyboard this time, which is NOT what I wanted to do, but they ended up moving the choir room piano up on stage so I can be right there with the rest of the orchestra and play the real thing. Extremely grateful for that.) Bye for now.

We had stormy weather here, for this area, which is nothing compared to the Midwest. There was thunder snow. We went for a ride in the truck when it was snowing and sleet, it was fun because we do not often get to see the ground white with snow and sleet, it all did soon melt except for what is in the mountains. I bought some extra milk because I have been making homemade yogurt, also cheese and egg rolls. I got the yogurt and egg roll recipe from the youtube Starry Hilder site. She is a bubbly happy Christian woman. I found her site because I am looking to see what people have to say about using solar panels. It is expensive to buy all that is needed for solar panels. I could not afford to buy something nice and even if I could buy it then thieves would steal it, many thieves around here. I will have to pray and come up with something simple soon for alternative energy. Bye for now, Anna

Thanks for the prayers for Michael everyone, we appreciate it! What kind of plants have you been playing with Lulu? I sent up a prayer for you Lorrie and I'm sure you'll do great as always! I don't know why you're nervous...after all, you play for the King of Kings every day, and He loves hearing it, so what do some lowly earthlings matter? Are you planning on getting solar panels for your house Anna or something else? Sorry, wasn't sure I understood. They are expensive though, that's for sure. I remember seeing some sites that showed homemade methods of using alternative energy... maybe you could google that and find something. Hope you find what you're looking for.
Today is the day for Elijah and Grace's birthday party so they're all excited. Afterward we have to run to the store for a few things before coming home, so it'll be a long day for me, but fun too.
Hope everyone has a good day!

Went to a Christmas party last night and I made myself go through the buffet line only once! It's so easy for me to just graze when there are a lot of appetizers available. Big storm early this morning; we lost electricity.
When our newspaper was delivered this morning it had no front (main) section and no sports section, but 2 copies of all the other sections. I called the customer help line and explained the problem. Was told we would receive another paper but so far we haven't. The Ft. Worth newspaper is so third-class!
Hope everyone has a great week.

LOL That's sounds like what's happened with our little paper any number of times in the past Margie. Gotta love small towns! But I thought Ft Worth was a big city.... oh well, maybe they've got some small town folks working for them LOL
The kids party was great yesterday and they all had a good time. Jenn did a good job of organizing everything, but then both my girls seem to do well with that. I was never any good at parties, at least I never thought so. I tried, but they weren't as good as the ones my kids have for their kids now.
Well I want to share what the Lord taught me today, so I'm off to do that! Have a good day everyone!

burrrrrr here today! we got a tat bit of rain last nite... Lorrie, yes, Ron loved cooking breakfast at *The Way* and it was just like ol'times a couple saturdays ago...every one loved it... We were real busy this past weekend...Cindy the plants I was playing with were all the ones on the back wall under that little lean-too....plant table whatever you call it...lol...there's a tree that grows up behind it and Ron has to get in and cut it down every couple years, well, this is one of them years...! so I moved all the plants over to a nice rack on wheels! it was slow going, there were a ton of plants there, so in between moving them around I would sit and sew the stars onto Jazzy's Karate set...she gets a star every time she goes, and they are stick on, but they never stay, so granny sews'em on also....it was a beautiful day out on Saturday...so I spent a few hours outside.... then Sunday after church we had to re-window our plastic windows out here in our Sanctuary...between the three of us, we got'em all done, just as it started raining Ron and I got the last two finished! plus I was busy doing , and and doing the laundry .........so ya, it was a wicked good weekend... oh, might I ask for prayer about my job...20 people got laid off last friday...and there will be more....I don't think I'm on the list, but one never knows...but the folks that did get laid off will also need prayer...it's a rotten time of year to be getting laid off....thanks...

Wow Lulu, you've been super busy! I was tired before I read your post, but I'm ready for a nap now! That sounds like a whole lot of work with the plants. I'm glad you were able to get the windows finished before the rain started too. Speaking of rain, it rained here all day yesterday and up till just a couple of hours ago. But there's a nice blue sky now. Said a prayer for you right away hon.
It seems like there's been a lot of schools closing down for that all over the country. It's even happened in our area as well. There's no way I'd want my kids in a school anymore....
I never got to finish my article yesterday so just put it on a word document to work on later, sorry. I'm just too exhausted today so I'm going to check on the bible study we're doing and then go rest.
Oh, I did find out something new about workers comp denying the bed for me. I'll put it in the other thread though....
