I( thought it would be interesting to try and keep track of all the weather news. I'm hoping you guys will all help by posting any weather news in this thread so we can all see what's going on around the world. I didn't explain why I'm posting these and why I'm putting them in this forum. It's because the Bible tells us that the weather will be extreme during the Tribulation and we're seeing what I like to call "mini previews" of what's coming. Here are today's news from Accuweather: Southern US storm ushering in frigid air, ice and snow could halt travel An impactful pattern bringing frigid air, ice and snow across the Southern states early this week will result in power outages across the region and may bring area travel to a standstill.

Midwest, Northeast Arctic outbreak and lake-effect snow to last days The coldest and most prolonged cold weather in a couple of years will grip areas from the Midwest to the Northeast and will trigger bands of lake-effect snow as well as far-wandering snow squalls in the coming days.

Flood, drought and plastic pollution: Environmental Photographer of the Year competition shows a planet in peril Photos from countries vulnerable to climate change dominate this year’s awards.
Because I know some people worry about the earth because of statements by people who don't know the Lord or His Word, like some of the above or those who talk about "climate change" etc. I want to assure you that no matter what the worldly scientists say, we can trust what our God says more. Yes, we will see some damage now, and a lot more during the Tribulation. But when Jesus returns at His 2nd coming, He will renew the earth so that it goes back to normal for His 1000 year reign. Then He tells us that the earth and it's seasons will remain unchanged until the Millennium is over and all the unsaved have been judged. At that point He will burn up this universe and create a brand new one that's never known sin and never will know it. That will be our home for eternity. I'm only going to post a couple of scriptures about this for now as I don't have time to explain a whole bunch of them. These are pretty self explanatory.
““As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”” (Genesis 8:22)
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.” (2 Peter 3:10–13)

A few days ago in the morning I had to break the ice in the water bucket for the birds with a hammer, but yesterday and today the weather is nice to be outdoors. I do bird watching outdoors this time of year and take any near by dog for a walk that will walk with me. lol A few days ago one of the birds landed on my shoulder, I thought wow that is the first time that has happened.

Here in Seaside Oregon, we have had about 3 or is it now 4 nights below freezing ( around 25 degrees) I do not remember that happening, in the 23 years we have lived here.
When I woke up today it was 31 ( so that is an improvement)
it is supposed to continue to warm, but looks like 10 days of rain ( and tho yes, we are often with rain, it seems like waaaay more than usual.

Here the big weather story that my state going get nail on Pineapple Express heads for California with flooding, wind, snow starting Wednesday All aboard the Pineapple Express this week in California as some coastal ranges could see over 8 inches of rain before the end of the week, while Los Angeles and San Diego could be in for more monumental flooding. The Pineapple Express is an atmospheric river that sets up a fire hose of moisture starting near Hawaii and blasts the West Coast. That atmospheric river can carry up to 27 times the amount of water carried by the Mississippi River, which is the equivalent of up to 10-15 inches of rain. "What we've got going now is a very active period when the upper-level jet is stretching across the Pacific," Marty Ralph, director of the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes, told FOX Weather on Monday. "There's a lot of moisture being transported in a series of atmospheric river storms associated with that. And they're sort of stalled a bit over the Northwest for a few days here. And soon they're going to move down the coast along into California." www.foxweather.com/weather-news/pineapple-express-charging-california-wind-flood-snow-february-2024

I disagree with the article about the cougar attacking an 8 year old boy, said a person was 1000 more times likely to be struck by lightning than to be attacked by a cougar, how do they know that, if that cougar attacked that boy it would have killed him if it was not for his mother shouting and making noise. I think most people with an encounter with a wild animal just don't report it to anyone. I know a story where a woman was planting flowers in her sisters yard while her sister went somewhere and was attacked by a mountain lion and killed. I had a friend that told me she, her son and boyfriend were walking in wilderness area to enjoy being in nature and a mountain lion was following them, she was afraid and carried her son. It was just her experience and never reported it to anyone.

I agree with you anna, for whatever reason people don't report incidents. That being said, I won't report a sighting because the "govmint" will send out "experts" to relocate or kill the cat or whatever animal. I love cats. All kinds, I live with 5 cats, one is in my lap now and snoring loudly.LOL. People need to be alert and "prepared" when walking in the woods. I personally am more afraid of two-legged animals than four-legged ones.

Well speaking of weather I score this off Euro news just now Barcelona declares drought emergency, with big fines for breaking water rules Citizens could be fined for washing cars or watering gardens. After months of warnings, authorities in Catalonia have declared a drought emergency. The region is in the midst of the worst drought since records began. From tomorrow (Friday), 80% of the Catalan population, including Barcelona, will be under strict water restrictions. “We are entering a new climate reality,” Catalonia’s regional president Pere Aragonès said when announcing the emergency. “It is more than likely we will see more droughts that will be both more intense and more frequent.” What are Catalonia's water restrictions? Washing a car, watering a garden or filling a swimming pool could result in fines of up to €50. If a citizen in Barcelona committed a serious 'water offence', they could be fined up to €3,000. The rules will apply to six million people in Barcelona and the 201 surrounding municipalities in northeastern Spain. Floods, droughts and panic attacks: Climate change is taking its toll on Europe's far www.euronews.com/green/2024/02/01/spain-expected-to-declare-drought-emergency-today-with-big-fines-for-breaking-water-rules

Yeah so bad that they bring tanker for water ‘A new climate reality’: Spain’s drought-stricken villages have been in crisis mode for months Thousands living in small communities that depend on wells which are now running dry are experiencing difficulties getting water fit for consumption. Plastic jugs in hand, Joan Torrent takes a path into the woods in search of drinking water. He fills them at a natural spring and then hauls them back to his home in Gualba, a picturesque village near Barcelona. Like many towns in Spain, it is bearing the worst of a record drought. For Torrent, making this walk for water several times a week with the 8-litre jugs is a minor inconvenience, but one that may become more common as Spain and the rest of the Mediterranean adapt to climate change. www.euronews.com/green/2024/02/02/a-new-climate-reality-spains-drought-stricken-villages-have-been-in-crisis-mode-for-months
