It seems like the only movies I like to watch are the Sherlock Holms type of movies, the ones where you can't figure who the guilty person is until the end of the movie. I have watched a few movies lately and I have been reading. It feels like there is to much that I want to do and not enough time to do it, so I have to prioritize. I talked to a man that got out of a delivery truck, I thought he left the radio playing in the truck but he told me no something is wrong with the truck that the truck itself is making that noise, I held my hand over my mouth because I was trying not to be rude and I was holding back from laughing, then he went on to tell me the truck had a propane fuel tank and how he was worried about rough roads and the tank exploding and he went on and on and how if I see a fireball to get quickly to the truck because I could get free cooked ham, on and on he went and I was laughing so hard, everything he said I could not stop laughing, though I tried, and he kept talking.

I love it when something like that happens Marlene. He must have a great sense of humor! To me the best days of all are the days when we've laughed a lot. It's so true that laughter is the very best medicine of all! I like the way the Bible says it too: “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22) A cheerful heart is also translated as A rejoicing heart, A merry heart, A joyful heart, and A happy heart. I've found that to be so very true. Whenever I'm tempted to have a pity party, I remember that my body reacts to being depressed by giving me even more pain - even if I'm only feeling depressed for an hour; and the longer I'm feeling down, the worse the symptoms get. Plus, along with more pain, I can usually count on other parts of my body joining in the party. It's given the idea of having a "pity parts" a whole new meaning LOL. Needless to say it's obviously not something any thinking person would want to do once they know the consequences of not having a cheerful heart! Good reasons to obey the Lord and “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4)

Seven, Basil Rathbone is the only Sherlock Holmes that I will watch and I have seen all his Sherlock Holmes movies.
Cindy, As I was listening to audio today of Andrew MURRAY (1828 - 1917) and I read the second half of Hebrews 2 about the suffering that Jesus needed to suffer..., I also see the reason for the saints to suffer Hebrews 2:10" For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings." and then it goes on to say that the Lord is not ashamed to call christians who suffered brethern, and as Andrew Murray said that through the lesson of dispair itself and then to leading to the hope in God, that is what has prepared the soul so it will yeild faith to the holy spirit, he said that a slothful person does not understand the leading to the way of perfection.

Well, today it's pouring and that's supposed to continue all day. It'll probably take most of the leaves off the trees.
Andrew Murray has some wonderful books. I've enjoyed reading many of them, and will get more whenever I can. I like to get them free through my Bible Library. I've gotten so many free books that I was losing track of them so started a folder to list the new ones in so I wouldn't forget to read them. I was really surprised when I realized that I generally get around 21 free books every year. The books are all different kinds, theology, commentaries, devotionals, Bible studies, as well as single books by great authors like Murray, and MacArthur, and Wiersbe, etc. Right now I have just under 2,000 books in my Bible library. I love the way everything is linked together. Because of that, whatever chapter I'm studying in the Bible, any other books about that chapter automatically open to that place. it makes studying so easy! Sorry for carrying on about it, but I just love my Bible Library and I'm so thankful the Lord got it for me!

I wonder if we will read the Bible in heaven. I think there will be librarys there, because of this scripture I wonder. In John it says, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Maybe by reading the Bible there we will remember our trials on earth and how the Lord overcame so therefore we overcame, I thnk we will always know that. Or maybe all things will be new and we will not have a memory of the time spent on earth, probably that memory will slowly fade away. Well whatever we will keep moving forward in victory.

Hi
I agree on the cheerful heart, it makes a difference. One thing I find is that non believers don't "get" God, nor understand prayer is powerful.
Its a good reminder that it's good to pray for the unsaved closest to us.
I find sometimes its lonely being one of the few believers in my immediate world, which is why I like to chat about stuff here, and many "normal" people just seem to have become completely bonkers recently, reminds me of 2 Tim 3.
I effectively got kicked off one web site recently as I kept suggesting people needed to repent and come back to God...sad....
Yeah Seven, the proof of vaccine causing lot of problems here, people don't want it at all and they think it will fix things.

I am trying to remember Anna where in Scripture, the implication is we will never in all eternity be able to plumb the full depth of scripture... This is not quite it but is a part ( where is Cindy when I need her LOL)
17....You, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,..... Ephesians 3:17,18
and since Jesus is the Word, and He is infinite, eternal etc.
I 'think' we may be reading scripture as well as talking to Jesus, who is the Word, forever.
I know so far in my life, I feel like I have barely scratched to surface of God's Word....( maybe not even one atom yet)
I am always finding deeper meaning.
Yes Steve it does seem so hard sometimes being one of the few believer in one's family....and then this crazy world.

I go to places to shop near where I live and no one wears a mask, so I thought everyone was done wearing masks and I went shopping to the north of where I live and I was 3/4 the way done shopping when a woman glared at me and I looked around at the people and everyone had a mask on their face, then I felt self conscious and wanted to leave the store as quickly as possible, so now I will have to notice that better. duh

I sure hope we'll still have the Bible in heaven and be able to study it there. I think so, based on this scripture: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) AND “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”” (Isaiah 40:8).
One of MacArthur's sermons surprised me because He said we wouldn't remember this life in heaven. I can't remember though whether he said we would forget it immediately or if we'd forget it after the great white throne judgement. Here's some scriptures which suggest we will forget this life: ““Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy.” (Isaiah 65:17–18) “he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 25:8) and “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”” (Revelation 21:4)
I'm not sure what I believe about whether we'll remember this life.... those seem to suggest we won't remember it, but this scripture says we will remember. (Immediately preceding this scripture, God is speaking about the Millennial Kingdom.) “From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the LORD. “And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”” (Isaiah 66:23–24)
So I'd have to say that we will remember it at least until the Millennial Kingdom is over. That makes sense too, because the scriptures that say that God will wipe away all tears and that there'll be no more sorrow, crying, etc. like in Rev 21:4, is talking about after the Millennial Kingdom is over, not instantly when we get to heaven. We can know that for sure because scripture says that we can be ashamed at His coming, (1 John 2:28) and that we will be ashamed if we haven't handled His Word correctly (2 Timothy 2:15). We can also know that because we will obviously feel badly for those unsaved who are being judged at the Great White Throne judgement and being sent to Hell, especially those who are our own loved ones. If you remember the Left Behind books, they showed God taking away the pain of seeing last judgement and wiping our memories clean of everything painful, immediately after that judgment. Then the Lord will create new heavens and a new earth for us to live on for eternity, with our new incorruptible bodies and our new minds. Minds that will be the way God intended for us to be, before Adam and Eve sinned. Minds that no longer know evil and we will no longer have any taint of sin at all!

Thanks Cindy, I agree. That is lovely.
Seven I was going to ask you what you were paying for gasoline but had forgotten to ask, and now I see you mentioned it. Where I live we are paying 3.61 a gallon for regular gasoline. Honda Civics get good gas millage, I drive a pick up truck, so I pay twice as much to get around and for me if the price goes above 4 a gallon I will only drive once every 3 weeks, if the price goes to 5 or 7 dollars a gallon in 6 months like I heard someone say it would then I will drive once a month because when I drive I drive over 100 miles in one outing.
