I am praying and trying to find the right godly path, about rising prices...
I don't think it is necessarily a sin, to buy on sale, while pries are still affordable.....
However, the temptation for me, is to make that a priority, and to be relying on 'self'.
If I do that alone, rely on 'self'..... I may miss out on seeing what God might do for us.
I still am not saying, storing up is a 'sin'
But there is also this to consider:
Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you Matthew 6:33
“Therefore I tell you do not be anxious about your life what you will eat or what you will drink nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Matthew 6:25
I tend to lean more towards rely on self which for me is a lack of faith. And yet, over and over, in my 76 years, God has provided for us so so many times.
There may also be something to be said, for learning to live a bit without so many 'treats' I don't mean just cookies....
but maybe things like: full fat cream in my tea or a sparkling juice drink etc etc.
Maybe ( for me), things like:
to learn to be grateful, for just some water ( which many people in the world have a hard time getting) would behoove me.

I think water is most important. I have an order of 4 items together coming through delivery and all four items are coming on a different day, different boxes, and delivery guy will be here 4 times instead of once, so supply centers must not have items stockpiled and wait for just in time delivery. I also have gotten info from post office about delay in receiving small boxes and also just got notice from where I go once a month near the railroad tracks getting food from a semi truck, they said to brace for a significant increase in food prices, due to labor shortages and a seriously strained supply chains and that they don’t know what the future holds over the next few months, as there’s a lot of uncertainty going on, but they hope to be able to keep their business working as usual. I can't get much because I do not have a Costco near where I live, the closest one is over 100 miles away and the drive home that would be over 200 miles, I did drive there once to a large city I had never been to, down busy side streets, potholes and road construction, so that wasn't easy, I was surprise at the ability of the drivers to weave in and out of traffic the way they did, hat off to them, I can drive, but I can't do that weaving in front of another vehicle with only a car length to accomplish that task.

Wow Anna you do live far away from stores!
I often wondered about water....like what is wrong with rain water? If one were to boil it....but if the grid went down, and you could not boil it?
Didn't people back in the day, drink rain water? Is it too contaminated these days?

Some people make a set up for themselves to collect rain water, which I think is good to do, I don't know of any one who does that though, however it is popular to have ponds here and run off from one pond is set up to go to another person pond. I think with any stored water it is good to put hydrogen peroxide in the water for safety against bacteria and pollutants that may get into the water as it comes down through the air. There must be a lot of people around the world that depend on rainwater as their primary source of drinking water. I am glad in our country we have been blessed with water, though a lot of people are buying water filters.

I like Stash tea, sometime I would like to try the Christmas in Paris tea, ingredients are cocoa shells, peppermint, lavender, chocolate flavor, vanilla extract. It said, search for a store near you, so I said to myself, ok will do, then it said, Oh no! try increasing the search radius. lol It would have to ship through the mail.

We've always had our own well, but at our first house, it would run out of water during the summer if we hadn't had enough rain, so we also had a rain barrel to collect water in. Plus, since we lived in the middle of nowhere, lol, the kids all took showers outside in the rain I have them put on their bathing suits, hand them soap and shampoo and send them outside! They loved it! Thankfully, our current well hasn't run out of water in the 20 plus years we've lived in this house.

Seven: Thanks for the link and suggestions for Stash tea ( it was my 2nd favorite company).
My favorite was Celestial Seasons Bengal Spice tea)
But I would buy Stash for their Licorice tea
However, you and Anna had some neat sounding ones for sure! I will try them :)
Can you drink the Well water tho Cindy? I wondered like Anna said about bacteria, and pollutants.
Although, as I recall, my adopted parents has a well, also. I don't know, if we used it? or If we had city water?
Come to think of it, I think I remember a big kerfuffle over raising taxes for a big water filtering plant
So maybe we did use the well, for everything? I don't know, but I do remember the well, it was big. but then, our house had been built in the 1790's. So, I imagine, that is what they used back then.
Anna, you mentioned if one had to collect rain water, to use hydrogen peroxide. Do you know how much for how much water?

You grew up in a house that was built in 1790's?wow I remember very well what my grandparents old house in a small town in Iowa that was built during the civil war, looked like and the home you were in was even older that that. A few times around here I had to detour off the highway onto a side street and there is an old well there, don't know how it worked but it was out in the open for the water, round, large and cement, of course the pump house is long gone. It used to be in many years ago that to get water they drilled down the length of the statue of liberty, now they drill down the the length of the empire state building, as hay and alfalfa are grown on 10,000 acre farm owned by international interests, ships to Saudi Arabia for feed for their cows, other wealthy people have bought land to farm also and in some areas the length to drill for water is two times the length of the empire state building, so yes the average home is losing their well water, many homes within miles of where I live no longer have their water supply. Food grade hydrogen peroxide depends on what percentage the bottle is, now it is mostly sold in 3% at most 12%. Got to go for now.

I was in a LOT LOT more pain today, and did something I had not done for years.
Occasionally when in a lot of pain, I will break a norco in half
but today, everywhere pain had amp up so much I took a whole one.
My prescription had allowed me to take two whole one per day....
But in the past, it would keep me awake, because it shut the pain to a dull roar....so I could do a few things.
But I think, I am fighting what both Leonard and Hossanah have. It has kept them both sleeping.
Leonard did go to doctor/clinic
Almost certainly NOT covid...
but a virus flu cold or something like that but no antibiotic yet they took tests.
Anyway, instead of the norco letting me do some stuff instead.... for the first time ever I just slept.
So I only read 2 chapters I hope to read the other 4 tomorrow
Oh...and our cat Bob did not help. Our little orange cat will sometimes snuggle around my chin/neck area..... Bob never has... but today, he did for the first time! And he was purring and purring and that helped me sleep also.
So we expect to get some of the lab results back tomorrow.
Oh and the other weird thing is none of us have any appetite nothing at all sounds yummy so for about 10 days Leonard and I have barely eaten
he ate one tiny piece of pineapple today and about 2 oz of veggie broth
I had several pieces of pineapple and about 5 oz of broth
Hossanah also was not hungry at all!
Weird because they usually eat.
Anyway, Sorry I did not finish all of Ephesians God willing, I will tomorrow!

fearnot Everyone in our town and most of the other ones, has their own well. And generally our well water is a whole lot better then anything a city dishes out. I sure wouldn't trade mine for city water! Plus, well water is free whereas when you have city water you get a big bill every month. Besides, when you have your own well, you know where your water comes from and of course you can get it tested. In fact, our well is tested every month and it's great water! It's a whole lot better than any you can buy in a bottle. I remember the first time I saw bottles of water in the store. I couldn't believe anyone would bother to try and sell water, because I couldn't imagine who in the world would buy it when they could get it for free from their faucet??? But right away TV commercials and news started in telling people how much better that water was for them then what they have at home. And people actually believed it! What really blew my mind was the place up the road from where we used to live, is a water bottling plant. They bottle the water that we get from our wells and people here buy it! Are they that ignorant???? They're actually paying for water that comes from the same place their well water comes from!
I love Celestial Seasonings tea too and gave all different kinds of it to my daughter for her family to try out. Now they love it too!
Oh here's the right link for what I wrote, sorry about that! freshhopeinjesus.blogspot.com/

We do not have well ( we rent a cottage)
I once called our small town's water supply company. I talked to the main guy in charge.
He told me, that when they added things to the water, to rid it of bacteria, etc etc. etc.
They 'always' had to wear hazmat suits ( I assume the poisons added to the water, to rid it of bacteria etc etc are just that toxic that the guys must don hazmat suits?)
So, we are those folks who buy bottled water.
But of course, I have also read, that small molecular pieces of plastic, leech into to water.....
But what a choice?
Toxic chemicals or plastic?
I would prefer a well.
There is also a place ( maybe 100 miles or more) where you can get water.....
But that is too far for our car, and for us to drive a couple of times a month etc.

So today was having a day with the clinic calling Leonard about 4 times.
To give him some lab results like: he was low in this and that and that A bit high in this and that etc.
And of course ( joke) when they have 'caught' a patient they want to do more tests...
sooooooo on Friday, he must come in for more tests
And also, they are prescribing Antibiotics
And something else they called about?
The strangest thing Leonard told me when I fell asleep
( I 'WAS' going to check what you said for our new Bible Study,,,, and instead I fell promptly and immediately, asleep.
He said, he was sneezing and sneezing
I 'always' hear stuff like that!
or I always hear the cats meowing or scratching to come in.....
I hear these things, tho, I wear earplugs!
But I did not have earplugs in this morning
and
I heard nothing.... at all!
I am seldom out like a ' light' but that is what happened
and it kept happening Sooo I did not get to do anything today,,, Well, I actually did read Chapter 3 and 4... but that is all.
And we had other things going on The roofers were baaack and they had 2 giant trucks with shingles and wanted Brian's truck moved we could not do that ( Brian got a new truck but had not a chance, to rid himself of it.
So these guys with crane like things on their trucks and truck bed....... full of shingles
Managed to put the shingles on the roof with sometimes, what only looked like an inch leeway for all these wires.
Amazing accurate job!!!
There are a LOT of wires!!! they had to maneuver around! With big loads of shingles!
Oh! and then Vanessa told us her boyfriend, went hunting today
And...
Ended up in ER with a 'hole'? in his hand!
not sure what exactly ER did for his hand etc. they did wrapped his hand all up
Because when he shot to rifle..
the whole gun exploded and disintegrated! and blew out one of the windows on his brand new truck!
And so....on the day went Mostly I slept ( which is what Leonard has been doing for 10 plus days)
And today...he ate 2 grapes and 1/4 cup of veggie broth....
I ate 1/2 a cup and about 6-8 grapes.
Oh and Hossanah called Which was good because she has to take all the samples to the lab tomorrow.
And while tying this I am weak, and falling asleep over and over
( Leonard has been so weak, he has been using a cane I had from years ago....for arthritis etc.)
so falling asleep over and over and making endless typing mistakes Bah humbug!

Oh and one last weird thing...
When the clinic called the first time
i started coughing and coughing and could not stop or even talk to the guy!
Previously, I have been having an occasional dry cough throughout the day
But this was an inability to speak I was coughing so much
I keep taking a drink of water but nothing was helping but finally after a few minutes I got it together and could speak.
But what a strange thing

I'm sorry to hear how you and Leonard have been feeling so badly. If they're giving him antibiotics for what you both have, then you also need them in order to get well. I think we should hold off on this study and just do something else. I deleted my studies I'd listed in the "other studies we could do" thread as it says I have them on about every book, and added a few more ideas for you. So if you want to choose one of those that's fine, or you can do one that you thought of yourself. Feel free to just rest when you don't feel up to posting though.
Bruce is sick too and I've been having to take care of him, and I've been in a lot of pain myself. Oh, I forgot to tell you... the last time I went to the doctor, they ordered more xrays and discovered that I need both hips replaced. It was funny how they told me about it. In a round about way they said I was at the perfect age to have the replacements done because I'd die before the replacements would wear out! But I can't have the surgery anyway so it doesn't matter.

I am sewing today, I have a new bright color peasant skirt that shipped two sizes to big, so I will make that smaller, but I haven't liked skirts lately so I am going to add a top to the skirt to make it a dress, the thin material pink skirt needs a liner, all I have is a bright color of orange material to sew on the under side of the dress, at first I did not think that would be so good but now that I have them pinned together and ready to sew, I like those two colors together. I happened upon watching a video where a woman did the same thing that I am doing where she sewed a peasant skirt to a top and the dress looked nice on her. I did not get the idea from her as I already have one dress like that but it was nice to see that someone else was also doing the same thing and seeing that the dress looked nice.

Yes, they will deliver antibiotics this afternoon for Leonard. I think I am about a week behind him....just starting to get pretty sick....cough becoming worse, and getting very dizzy standing...so I sit back down, and try again in a few minutes and can manage okay....
Today, he just had a few spoonfuls of pineapple juice I had 3 pieces, and about 1/4 cup of yogurt.
Well, I did finish reading James....but now, I am not even sure, that is what you had written? How weird. I started on Ephesians....but somehow, ended up. reading James....
I might be sicker than I think?
Oh well, it was good to read James, anyway.
So, I will try and look at some of the other things.
I am guessing it might take the antibiotics a while to work, Hossanah had this Tue off so she could take Leonard to the doctors
But me.... not so much!
Hossanah needs our car to get to work and Leonard is in no shape to drive me
In fact, Hossanah drove him to the clinic
Maybe if she gets a day off next week, I can go.
