Leigh, hello sister, good to read how things are going for you, glad you all are doing ok now after having covid.
Here is a video that tells of conditions on the border. It takes an understanding of it to survive in the area, maybe that is true in all areas where people live, I don't know, after living here for 18 years and not visiting the northern states, my understanding for survival is limited to the area where I live.
Marlene thank you for posting the video. That is something else! I knew the situation was bad and I just hope you're not in danger, but it seems like Americans residing near the border would be. If they really are releasing the people as they come across the border, I imagine them spreading all across the land in search of food, water, anything they can get to survive.
It is stunning and mind-blowing all that has happened in the last year with, well, just everything! I said to my mother the other day, if somebody had told us (say, at the start of 2020) how quickly things would change that year, we'd never have believed it.
Nothing feels right to me anymore, and I've also had several people tell me that's how they feel, recently. John & I are searching for a new church home after almost 18 years at our [now previous] church (unless the Lord leads us back there). Churches have changed too. I mean, around here, most appear to still be scripturally sound and yet... I think we're going to have a hard time finding a place we both feel comfortable.
Oh well, this old gospel song just popped into my mind, and it sure is fitting!
This world is not my home I'm just a-passin through My treasures are laid up Somewhere beyond the blue The angels beckon me From Heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore!
Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you If Heaven's not my home Then Lord what will I do The angels beckon me From Heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore!
I'm so sorry to hear that you had to leave your church Lorrie. That's just heartbreaking, and is and has happened to so many. I guess we should have expected it since we're living during the great falling away, but somehow I always seemed to think it wouldn't affect me or anyone I know lol. I knew better, but couldn't stand to think about it.
Boy that hymn says it right. This world has gotten so corrupt that I just can't stand being here anymore and want to go Home more then ever! It's made me realize how Lot and Noah must have felt in their times, and Abraham as well. I just want it all to be over.....
I wanted to let you all know that I've gotten very little sleep so I'm just not up to posting much today. I'll be in tomorrow, God willing.

Cindy I hope you are rested and feel better today. Today feels like it is the day of Sunday and not a weekday, maybe i feel that way because it is cloudy outdoors today.
Today I watched a video, what is the church. In the Greek the word church means called out assembly, so the church is the people not the building. It is true believers, in Matthew 16:18 Jesus said to Peter, upon this rock I will build my church, the rock was Jesus.
Brother Michael has said that now people are starting to meet more in homes and in small groups. He also said that our lives on this earth are like a baby in the womb, which grows and then it is born and we people on earth grow and when we die we are born into our home in heaven.
He also said about a new Bible, I guess a new age bible is a popular read now, that might be that one world religion. I have not seen the book.

Thank you! It actually feels like a Sunday to me too Marlene....
Bruce's RA flared up badly overnight on Sunday. He told me he'd been up half the night due to pain in his hands. When I looked down at his hands I was shocked. They had swollen up to at least 3 or 4 times their normal size! By Tuesday the right one was better enough that he could use it, but the left was still no good, but he went to work anyway. However, overnight the "good" one swelled up again and the other one got worse too. I give him his methotrexate injection on Monday afternoons, so I was really hoping that would end the flare or at least make a good dent in it. Oh well, such is life. He's asleep in his recliner now...oops, just heard him cough so he may be waking up.
Please if the Lord brings me to your mind would you please pray the Lord would relieve the swelling and pain and heal Bruce? Thank you so very, very, very much!!!!!!!

Cindy, saying prayer. Well we got rain last night so I am off to take the black dog for a walk in the ruff as the weeds will be soft for her paws to walk on and she will like using her nose and mind to smell around the area.

Good morning, well took dog for a long walk and she did use her nose but she found rabbit droppings and ate them. I have been going for years and that does no good, when I was not looking she even got coyote poo. How is Bruce doing?
Now we will get nicer weather and warm like it should be. That is good that your mom is able to go for a walk in the park with lady friends. I could go to a Bible study at a neighbor's house but I will wait until there is another woman that with her pastor husband will be moving in to rent the extra house, still might not go, men around here carry loaded pistols. My other neighbor recently shot a man in the ankle from having an argument about a car, I know of others that have either been shot or shot dead around here. sorry, starting to talk to morbid, I will shut up now.

My other neighbor recently shot a man in the ankle from having an argument about a car, I know of others that have either been shot or shot dead around here. sorry, starting to talk to morbid, I will shut up now. yuk! Dogs can be so smart and then turn around and do something so dumb LOL Oh, I hope you're able to go and can enjoy the fellowship! Everyone here (or just about anyway) carries a gun. (at least one lol) Bruce never leaves the house without his pistol. Elijah and Grace have turned out to be great shots with the BB and pellet guns we got them. Now Gracie wants a "real" rifle and Elijah wants a pistol! Of course when they asked, they had no idea how much those cost LOL. It's funny though because for many years I never realized that most of the people here have concealed carry permits. Now we don't have to have the permits, but after talking to a couple of the policemen, Bruce decided to get his renewed anyway because he thinks the state will go back to requiring them and having one already will make it easier to get it renewed. We've only had one shooting incident here though, and that happened over 30 years ago. A man found his wife in their bed with his "friend" and shot the guy. He went to prison but has been out for awhile now without any problems. Oh there was one other time a person pulled a gun, (but didn't shoot it). It was at our one and only hilarious attempted bank robbery.
This happened about 10 years ago now. First you have to know this is a very small town. Only a very little over 5000 people total. We don't have much of anything here, but we do have a small bank. it's right across the street from our local market. (just a tiny store where we can get milk, coffee, candy, soda, etc.). Anyway this out of towner decided to rob our bank. Why he chose ours I can't imagine although they said he thought it would be easy since we're so small. What he didn't count on was that everyone here knows everyone else and can obviously spot someone who doesn't belong here. So he goes in the bank and pulls a gun demanding money and they give it to him. (there wasn't anyone else there but the teller). So then the idiot goes across the street to the market and asks for coffee! Meanwhile everyone for miles can hear the banks alarm going off, so the guys in the store simply pull out their guns and hold him there till the police come and get him!

I have seen young women model similar kind of shoes and when they sell they say not for walking in, more just for show. lol when in the video they said the first lady of Turkey did not take a nose dive, I think everyone was holding their breath hoping she would not fall over or twist an ankle.
The Queen's look of horror at Turkish first lady's footwear. oh I just noticed this is a 2011 video.

Hi Cindy (and everyone!)
I did want to clarify that it was our choice to leave our church... nothing bad happened to cause us to leave, no one incident, just things building up over time leading to a general sense that our work there was done and maybe we should move on.
To be honest, I don't know that we'll be able to find a place we both like. It seems much harder to find a church nowadays than it used to be.
There's a quite large church nearby with 2 traditional and 2 contemporary services. I've visited the traditional service a few times and think I would be very happy attending and getting involved, but John wants a smaller church (but not too small). Timothy has been attending the contemporary service there for about the last year & he likes it too.
John has visited several other churches that are more contemporary; the style of service isn't an issue to him (it is to me), he just wants Biblical messages with some depth that challenge him (as do I). But, the one church where he liked the sermon best - when he went back a second time, they had a smoke machine going and flashing lights and he walked out before it even started.
Last week we went together to a church up the road. The pastor actually was pre-trib! Wow, that's rare these days!! But he was SO much "hell fire & brimstone" that I nearly jumped every time he yelled (which was about every other sentence). He had a good message, but his delivery put our nerves on edge!
None of the churches have been very welcoming - and that is something our long-time church EXCELS at - making EVERYONE feel loved and welcome - so I guess we have high expectations in that department! Maybe that's partly why we stayed there for so long.
Sigh.... not sure what we will do.
Cindy - how are Bruce's hands now? I know it's been about a week since you posted about his flare, but poor Bruce, that sounds so painful! We tend to take for granted something as basic as the use of our hands or feet, until an illness or injury prevents it.
Hope everyone else is doing well and staying safe.

I understand what you're going through on your search for a church. You wouldn't believe some of the ones I've seen here! Not good, I can say that much. They make the the one with the smoke machine and flashing lights look conservative! Sorry I haven't been getting near enough sleep lately so I'm not up to doing much.
