Hi everybody!! long time no see! lol Well I have seen some of you over on facebook. It has just been so busy between work, Spendng time with the family and puttering around the house. I just don't know where all the time goes. I've meant to come in and see you all so many times, I think about you guys almost every day. Hope all is well with all of you. Stan is doing much better. He still has issues with his COPD, and diabetes of course but he had to have surgery on his foot for plantar fascititis and now that that has healed his feet are SO much better. Still has problems with the diabetic nueropathy in his feet but they are so much better than they were. He still working at my work as a breakfast cook at the assisted living facility. Got some news about Nickie. He got remarried and he and his new wife Sonya live across the street from us! She seems really nice and Nickie is very happy and that's what matters. Of course it was bittersweet him getting married again but life goes on and we can't expect him to be alone for the rest of his life. He's a wonderful man and someday he'll make a great father. Chelsea is getting ready for another school year. She got her professional teaching license this summer! She did have an alternative teaching license for secondary English. If you remember the last time we talked she had just become a foster mom. Well it will be a year the end of August and she still has him! We can't give any details of course but we are now able to refer to him as her son EJ on social media. He started calling her mom within a few weeks and she is for all intents and purposes his mom now. By Christmas Stan and I were Grandma and Grandpa. He and I had a rough start, he bonded with Chelsea pretty quick and she and I are close so there was a little jealousy on his part. I just stayed myself, didn't push him but included him in things and little by little he thawed and now we are very close. Its like he was always a member of our family and our grandson all along. This school year is going to be interesting though because he's going into 6th grade and his mom (Chelsea) is going to be his English teacher. lol I'm doing well, still working and loving being a grandma. I'll be back, hopefully it'll be sooner next time! Welcome back again, girl!! Always good to hear from you. Yes, I see you on FB, but it seems that people are more distant there. Here we are not. So glad that Nickie found love again. That is a gift, from God, when one can find love more than once, in their lives. Don't ever think that he has forgotten his Katie, because he never will forget his first love.
Happy that Stan has recovered from his surgery! And back to work too!
You are an awesome grandma! But, how can you help it, when the children are so enjoyable!
Sounds like Chelsea is doing well, for herself. I'm so happy for her!

Hi Lee, it is good to read about how you and your family are doing and also good to read about how Nikki is doing.
We have Monsoon rains now, so I have to be careful about roads that may be flooded. About what appeared to be a large locust, it looked like a grasshopper with wings and was an o d green color. I have looked around outdoors and have not seen anything around that looked like that bug. I have seen a few bugs that looked like nothing I have ever seen before and never saw again, this bug was one of them, when it bit the palm of my hand the bite did not break the skin, I was more concerned about how that bug scared me than I was about the bite on the hand, that was gross. One time I saw a large millipede in my living room years ago, that bug looked like it came from hell and I had that thought when I saw that locust type looking bug also. In Los Vegas for the next two week they are being in invaded by locusts, people can't walk on the sidewalk without crunching them under their feet and other people say, what happens in Vegas can stay in Vegas. lol Really? How strange! I wonder if that's something that's happened before or happened regularly, or something new for them? I guess I'm just strangely fascinated by the ways of our God and how He always seems to give people what I like to call, "mini previews" of what's to come. Although the Tribulation won't have "real" locusts, but instead will have demonic ones, it would be a good way to show a preview and get folks attention. Not that they'll actually turn to the Lord because of it, but it's also a good confirmation for those who know His Word and know what's going to happen after the Church is gone. It's sad though that things like this don't turn people to the Lord. But scripture shows again and again that at most some of people will run to church for a few weeks and then go about their usual sinful ways, while the vast majority don't even do that. Just like during the Tribulation, the judgements don't cause most people to repent even though they know that's what God wants from them and that He will save them. OH I hear about grasshoppers is that sign of end times or what Well, yes and no.... it's not really a sign of the end times or of the Tribulation either. I personally see it as a possible mini preview of what will happen during the tribulation in one of the judgements God sends. (and the only way I would see it as a mini preview is if this is out of the ordinary for Vegas) I seriously doubt if any teacher or pastor would claim it as a sign or anything like that. I've posted the passages about them for you and as you can see they won't be normal locusts, but will be demonic and won't even look like a regular locust looks. This won't happen until the last half of the Tribulation and is one of the worst judgements. I don't even like to say that I see it as a mini preview any more because too often people take that as meaning it's some kind of a sign, but it's not.
âAnd out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.â (Revelation 9:3â6) âThe locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. Their hair was like womenâs hair, and their teeth were like lionsâ teeth. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. They had tails and stings like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon.â (Revelation 9:7â11)

That is what my colleague was watching on her phone. She said they were May Flies (something I mentioned in my last post), but they were the grasshoppers in Vegas. I streamed my news channel and saw a story on it. Amazing the loads of grasshoppers!
I was trying to do a search on what your grasshopper may have looked like and found more than I wanted to see. Several hoax photos, and one link that my malwarebytes blocked and said was a trojan, so I'm done searching this. LOL
OH I hear about grasshoppers is that sign of end times or what That's what I was thinking too.
OK, I'm confused, were they locusts, or grasshoppers or what? And did anyone say whether or not this was something they've seen a number of times before, or is it unusual? (I already posted about it not being a sign and what it was....
Ok, just to be sure, I looked up "locust" in the dictionary: Locust: SHORT-HORNED GRASSHOPPER especially: a migratory grasshopper often traveling in vast swarms and stripping the areas passed of all vegetation. Merriam-Websterâs collegiate dictionary. LOCUST, a well-known insect, of the grasshopper family, which commits terrible ravages on vegetation in the countries which it visits. Smith's Bible Dictionary.

Merriam-Websterâs collegiate dictionary. LOCUST, a well-known insect, of the grasshopper family, which commits terrible ravages on vegetation in the countries which it visits. Smith's Bible Dictionary. In this case, they were Pallid-Winged grasshoppers, recently in Las Vegas. They have had a larger than normal rain fall, which attracted them, as they searched for water. This happens in Vegas every few years, but this year there were way more than normal. The news said that tourists were creeped out, and cut their vacations short, because of it. But, grasshoppers are harmless to humans. Not so lucky for green foliage and crops, but humans are safe from them. (not to mention also, my nylon window screens of my brand new house, up North, the first year. They ate huge holes. We had to replace almost every screen, in the house, with steel screening, to keep the wasps from getting in.)
A lot of people still want to call them locusts, but they are not locusts. Locusts are of the grasshopper family, as are crickets, but grasshoppers are grasshoppers. Now a Cicada is a type of locust and more harmful.

How to Fold a Shirt in Under 2 Seconds
This is what I need to do, better fold shirts. In the comments one man said that it only takes him 1 second to hand the shirt to his wife and another man said to him, " Then what happens to the shirt?" I laughed because it reminded me of myself, I try to be organized but still I end up having a mess.

They may not be harmful to humans but I sure wouldn't want to feel any of them on me!!! (weird how those graphics are a little messed up - don't know why...) Thanks for explaining all that to me Cheryl, I appreciate it! How to Fold a Shirt in Under 2 Seconds This is what I need to do, better fold shirts. I don't have a problem folding shirts, just fitted sheets but I gave up on that a long time ago. Now I just stuff them in a drawer and forget them!

Love the video, Anna! I've seen that before, many times, but always forget how to do it, when I'm fixin' to fold a T-shirt. I need to watch the video, just before I am taking them out of the dryer.
Cindy, I still laugh that you can't fold a fitted sheet. But, hey, we can't all be good at everything! Right?

Seven That Hollywood producer worked for 52 years! It is about time he walked out to greener pastures.
There is an upscale Mexican restaurant in Houston that serves cook grasshopper, on their menu they are called Chapulines - pan sautéed grasshoppers, and they come with guacamole, tortillas and chipotle tomatillo salsa - for $12. Only 12 dollars! lol Also a Los Vegas pizzeria is offering a grasshopper pizza, or it might be a pie. They said, "When you all were fighting over Pineapple on Pizza our pizza chefs were planning one better- The Canyon Hopper! Only the bravest daredevils may try- Chorizo, Goat Cheese , Caramelized Onions. Arugula and yes lime and garlic roasted grasshoppers!"

@cheryl Yep, and I've got plenty of stuff I can't do!
anna ewww those sound nasty! One of my kids watches a youtube show that shows the weirdest things people eat. I couldn't stand to watch that, it makes me sick to see stuff like that! Guess I'm not very adventurous that way!
Hope you're all doing well! We're hanging in there. Just the usual stuff. Bruce goes to work, I study the Bible and try to keep the house from getting to dirty, then he comes home and we eat and relax the rest of the day. Not very exciting is it?

Cindy, you and me both! I have PLENTY that I cannot do. And that list keeps growing.
That also sounds like a good way to spend your time! Some people think that it isn't exciting, but we had excitement. We are resting now. If you have Starz Encore on demand his life story is on demand this month I think it last to December 31 according to my subscriber I been posting more horrible news about that senseless El Paso shooting at Walmart Supercenter or parking lot Yes, and the one in California, this past week, the one in Dayton Ohio, within 24 hours after the one in El Paso, and now one in Chicago that happened today, just a couple of hours ago.

Amen! It's strange I guess, but in one way I feel very blessed that I can't do much. Because of that, I have the pleasure of being able to study my Bible for about 6 hours every day (from the time I get up, which is normally 6am until noon). It's not until about noon or a bit after that my body feels as good as it's going to get and I feel up to doing the little chores to keep the house clean. Most of which only require me to stand and or walk for about 5 to 10 minutes before I can sit down to do another one. (I've learned to do a lot sitting down lol) I honestly can't imagine going back to only having an hour or two a day to read my Bible. Then again, the Lord blessed me when I went to work for my last job, because a huge part of my job there was reading the Bible, talking about God and His Word, and praying! I was helping my client learn to be a real Christian as well as helping him with things like getting dressed, etc. Talk about a dream job! I told my boss once that every day felt like a Sunday to me and that was always my favorite day of the week! The job I had before that I held for 10 years working with the elderly and disabled in a residential care facility, we turned into a good way to live as well. We spent our spare moments praying together, and reading the Bible together and discussing it. We always had praise and worship music playing on the radio in the kitchen too, where the staff hung out when not busy. On Saturdays, my co workers would come to my house for a Bible study, which was always great! So even then I got some extra time studying the Bible. And when I had to work the third shift, I could study it for at least 6 of the 8 hours I was there, which was really great. The last part of the second shift was similar in that I had a couple of hours at the end where I could study too. So the Lord really blessed my socks off!
I honestly can't imagine going back to only having a couple of hours a day to study and read my Bible though. I love that the Holy Spirit gives us a longing for His Word and then guides and teaches us when we ask Him too. He's the best teacher anyone could ever have! God's Word through Jeremiah 15:16 is so true: When you commit to read your Bible daily as we're commanded to, then God's Word becomes a joy and delight to us, and the only problem we have is putting the Bible down!
We didn't watch the news so I haven't heard about the shootings till now. That's so sad, but I'm afraid it's only going to continue to get worse. It has to in order for God's Word to be fulfilled, for it has to get bad enough that the average person will be crying for peace and safety, and wanting the government to do something to make them safe again. Come soon Lord Jesus! We need You!

Cindy, that's so neat that you had that, at work. Where I work, because I work in a public environment, I'm not allowed to express myself or my opinions about my faith or politics. I do, however, not refrain from the chance to praise our Lord, out loud, but do refrain from the politics.

Where I work, because I work in a public environment, I'm not allowed to express myself or my opinions about my faith or politics. I do, however, not refrain from the chance to praise our Lord, out loud, but do refrain from the politics. Well, we weren't "allowed" to either actually, but we did it anyway. When the state asked the residents about it, they told them they loved it too, especially our "sing alongs" when we'd sing hymns with them. Since the residents wanted it, (and actually asked for it) there wasn't anything they could do. And the state had and has no say over what we read and discuss among ourselves as staff. That's freedom of speech which the government is trying hard to make people believe that Christians no longer have. New Hampshire is basically godless, except for some of the small towns, and mine is one of the few that are very much into God, so that helped some I'm sure. Plus, we're the "live free or die" state, so they're used to people bucking the system lol.

Been busy here. We have keys to the apartment we're moving into on August 16. We hired a moving company. I've been cleaning shelves and drawers at the new apartment. The Housekeeping Dept. does clean apartments when someone moves out but I want to clean shelves and drawers myself when I'm putting my food, dishes and clothes in them.
Hugs to all.

I feel the same way Margie. You must be thrilled to be finally getting into the apartment you want! Does your husband like the new apartment better too?
Well, Bruce and I are sick. Our grandkids were sick when they came over last weekend so it looks like we got it from them. (they didn't know they were sick until later that night after they went home). Bruce stayed home from work today and is resting.
Oh, that reminds me. We did see the orthopedic doctor on Tuesday and he told us that the lump that we feel in his lower back is just a hematoma and not a tumor, so that made him feel much better. It's weird, because I have one in the exact same place on my back! A hematoma is just an area like a blister, that's filled with blood. Eventually, the body usually absorbs the excess blood, although it takes a long time. When someone has one that's really large (like ours) it can be there for the rest of their lives as it's just too much for the body to absorb. As far as the pain goes, he referred Bruce to yet another doctor who he hopes will do guided trigger injections in that area for him. Hopefully, those injections will work better. The new doc has a long waiting list though so that appointment isn't until October. But they also put Bruce on the call list if someone cancels.

Hi everyone,
A praise report , praise God!
A friend who was having real troubles with bad influences on his son via social media, has good news.
His wife was able to cast out a demon from their child, and the child is like a new child.......
Its not just tv that demons can use to attack believers......clearly social media is also a clear and present danger spiritually. Hope this helps someone.

Hey, everyone! Cindy, it sounds like those blisters you describe, can maybe be drained? I would think that they press on other areas, and would be bothersome, if not painful. I hope Bruce can get a sooner appointment, than October. It's amazing. Ed had gotten those shots too, and he spent tops....15 to 20 minutes, with the procedure. I'm sorry to hear that you and your family are all sick.
Kids are back in school in KY too!
Margie, I hope you love your new abode!! I agree with you. No matter how clean a new-to-me place is, I have to clean it myself. All of it. Especially the bathroom. I even sometimes have been known to replace the toilet seat. One time, it was a cushiony one. That grossed me out something awful. I replaced it before we even moved in. A major germ haven, those things are!

eeewww I purposely did not and do not read news about that Jeff guy, but I have seen on a scrolling chat that many people have said the guy died.
We were able to rent for 2 dollars the new Blade Runner movie and watch it. That was a good movie to watch, had 2 days to watch it, wanted to watch it a second time but I wasn't able to do that.

I moved a lot of breakable and small stuff to the new apartment as well as my houseplants (are they apartment plants now?). Anyway, I'm taking it easy this afternoon.
Hugs to everyone.
