Good morning, everyone.
Trying to get caught up on everyone's comings and goings. Cindy, you mentioned that you didn't know they still had places that will repair bibles. I guess that is still the norm, here in the bible belt. There are lots of places to get bibles repaired, monogrammed and all that. I've been wanting to get my Mother's bible monogrammed for some time now. Just haven't done it. I want to have them put her full name on the cover, with her birth and death dates. That way there is no doubt that it was hers. I bought it for her, so when I saw it in her coffin, I took it home with me, that day. My brothers saw me with it, and were quite upset with me, for having it, because they wanted Mother's bible. I said, "Nope, I bought it, I keep it." I've leaving it to my sister, Karen. No one else gets it.
OH..........sorry.........didn't mean to go on a tangent. This headache is really bringing out the worst in me. But, for some reason, I want to leave it, rather than delete it.
Lee, I'm so glad that you mentioned Zenni again. I keep forgetting the name of that website. I REALLY need to replace my glasses, because the lenses are all scratched up, and I'm having enough trouble trying to see. But, I don't have the money. So, I think I'll check and see what they want to charge. I just haven't gotten up the courage to do that checking, because it will mean that I would have to either spend the money, or keep wanting something I can't afford and I'm trying to just stay in the Lord and not covet what I can't have. That's hard, but doable, with His help. I'm so glad that you were able to get yours, though. And also have the opportunity to help someone else be able to afford new glasses.
Lulu, I'm so sorry that your company was sold out to a foreign entity. That's one of the things that our President is trying to stop from happening. Or at least slow it down, and throw in a high tariff for those who don't want to listen that America comes FIRST. But, I won't throw a lot of politics in our forum.....
I have a love/hate relationship with crock pots. Sometimes things come out right, and sometimes they don't. It's like playing Russian Roulette with my cooking, so I mostly just cook. But, I do like to make that peach cobbler recipe that you shared, one time, Cindy. That's still a winner! I just haven't made it for a while. I'll eat the whole thing, if I do.
Lorrie, tell Timothy that his dog has good taste, if she likes CFA's. I crave that sandwich now and again, but haven't been up to West Side Paducah in like forever, and that's the closest one. I order the #1 sandwich, with all the fixin's and the waffle fries. YUM!
Cindy, I'm sorry that Bruce had the flu. I'm hoping that he's over it now, and back to work and that you never caught it. I hope Jenn is over it soon too!
OK, I know I've gone and forgotten someone. Please forgive me, whoever you are. I just think I should submit this, because it's becoming quite long. Good to see everyone!

Hello, I'm back. On Saturday I went to my daughter's house and stayed there until last night. She was in central Texas helping my sister. Her kids don't really need someone to "take care of them" now, but my daughter did want an adult there. Also I took her oldest son for 2 eye doctor exams. His eyes have healed really well from his surgery, but he can't drive yet. Has to get a final OK from the eye surgeon.
My daughter has 3 dogs and 1 cat. The 2 Boxer dogs slept with me and sometimes the cat did too. I couldn't move around much but I stayed really warm. Those big dogs put out a lot of heat.
Wind is a little cool here but we had a beautiful sunny day. Hugs to all.

Well it started back in 2015....it’s been slowly going down hill....then last year we were bought by a company out of India....SFO....they are HUGH in India.....we’ve lost several costumes because we are foreign owned now....people are quitting left and right, it’s just wicked slow and it’s just not looking good...I think that’s why we lost the Boeing contract also! Because we are foreign owned. SFO builds stuff for GM, and other class 1 and class 2 products.....we’ve been mostly class 3....the classes are the level of products, Medical or space are class 2 and 3.....phones and GM products are class 1 or 2.... Prayers for your family! I hate how so many businesses are being bought by foreigners. Maybe something Trump does will help the company you're working for. But I guess he can't throw out foreign investors...although it seems like more foreigners own companies then we do.
Thank you for your prayers Lulu, I'm praying for you guys too. LOL That's so cute Lorrie! I'm glad that it's helping you get over your fear too. That's a cute name, where did he come up with it? It is good to make friends with the pit bull, aye? lol A chick-fil-a sandwich is good for Na'La. Hi Marlene, hope you're doing well today! Up and ready to face the world......I think.....😁 Hope you had a good day Lulu! Good morning, everyone.

You can't go wrong with Zenni's. We got Bruce's glasses from them and they're actually better than the ones we got from the eye doctor! And they hardly cost anything! It was kind of funny because I had to ask my eye doctor for help when we were ordering them as I wanted to find out if some of the things they recommend when you buy them are really needed. I was surprised when my eye doctor told me to choose not to get that stuff as it really isn't needed and that saved us even more money lol. He told us that he thinks they're great too!
That would be nice to do to your Mom's Bible Cheryl. I'm not sure why you would want to delete that you're leaving it to Karen, but I think that's nice of you. Hello, I'm back. Wish it was warm here. We just got over a foot of snow last night and it's still snowing. I've never seen the trees with as much snow on them as there is now! Especially since it's a heavy wet snow. I woke up late and was shocked to see that Bruce had already done some snowblowing and was already at work, so he had to have gotten there on time. I thought for sure he'd still be at home. It sure does look pretty outside though. Hope you have a good day Lulu!

Cindy, I knew you must be getting a lot of snow because I saw a weather map.
Cheryl, I hope you get your mother's name put on the Bible.
We are going to have to buy a new water heater, year's ago when we did apt maintenance we used to just change heating elements in water heater and they would work but after putting in a new heating element in our water heater we are only getting about 6 gallons of hot water and we went through the winter like that but soon we will have to buy a new one, they are expensive. We often stop on a dirt road to talk to Wayne our neighbor, he always has with him his pit bulldog Missy. Missy kills other dogs and Missy does not like women, so I never go near Wayne's car to talk to him, I just stay in our car. Wayne said he has a growth on his chest, the doctor said it is precancerous, but will not remove it, so I will let you know what he does next if he gets help to get it removed or not.

LOL, Cindy.........no I wasn't wanting to delete what I wrote about leaving my mom's bible to my sister. It was the tangent before that, with my brothers. No biggie. Just wanted to clarify.
Lulu, that means that you might get to see some thunder storms? I know you love a good storm, as long as it doesn't harm anyone. You can have some of the ones I get, here in the Mid-South!
Marlene, I'm sorry that you still might have to buy a new water heater. Yes, I remember the old ones, where you could just replace the heating element and stretch the life of them. I had 2 in mine. One toward the top and one near the bottom. They both went out, at the same time. My Dad came over and replaced them for me, and then noticed that I still had a fuse type fuse box, instead of a switch box, and told me that this is one of the reasons why my elements went out. I kept blowing fuses. So, when I could manage it, I bought all the stuff to replace it, and Dad came back out to do the work. He did a great job. Of course....lol....he was my Dad! One memory of that day, stands out, that I just have to mention now, lol. Dad shut down the power to my home, to get the job done, and came into the kitchen for some coffee and realized that I had not made any. He was like........HEY, where's my coffee??! Oops, sorry Dad, I really didn't think about it. I should have, because he drank coffee 24/7. So, with the power being off and the fuse box already discombobulated, he rigged up a direct line to my coffee pot! Anyone who knows anything about electricity, knows what happened. My Dad knew it would happen and told me that he was going to hook it up for a second. He was NOT kidding!! My little Mr. Coffee made a pot in a millisecond. I thought it was going to blow up! (note to self....NEVER hook electricity straight from the pole to the outlet.. never never never.) But, back to the story on the water heater. Believe it or not, I never had to replace those elements again, and the water was always hot. I don't know if it was really true, what my Dad said about the bad fuse box, but I'd like to think he was right. He didn't go past the 6th grade, but he was the smartest man, I knew.........until I met my husband, that is. Then Ed got that distinction.
Man, Cindy. All that white stuff. Sometimes I don't know how you manage. But, then again, I lived with it for 30 plus years.........hated it, but when I was little it was kinda fun....a little....not much though. LOL! I didn't like the snow packing down inside my boots and when my mother took my boots off, the iced up snow cut into my legs and ankles. Not a good memory. One time, when the snow was so deep, my sister and I could literally be lost in it, the neighbor's dog got out and came over to our house. (Of course I am talking about the late 60's, when NWI got some major, major snowfall) The snow drifts were so bad, that "Jumbo" just walked right up and over his fence. He got his name honestly. He was a Saint Bernard and to us he was as big as a full grown cow. My sister, Jackie, saw him coming and pushed me down into a drift, and tried to run, but got bogged down in the snow, herself. Jumbo, sat down on Jackie's face. They do that to keep the person warm. It's in their breeding. Anyway, Jackie was screaming, and pushed up on the dog, so Jumbo turned to put her back down, and his paw smacked her nose and bloodied it. The memory of it, was blood all over the white snow. In meantime my parents came running out of the house and got us inside, and called the neighbor to make him come get his dog. LOL, it was funny then, and still funny today, because of Jackie pushing me down, to make me to decoy so she could get away. (she is like that today, as an adult too) Did I just put that in an open thread? LOL, yep!
.....but my whole reason to even start writing was to marvel how y'all deal with all that white stuff. It snowed here, last night..........if you want to call it snow. Well, maybe a "dusting". Because when I woke up it was bright, sunny, warm and NO WHITE STUFF.
Margie, I had to laugh, just picturing you trying to sleep with 2 boxers and a cat in your bed. I hope that your son's eyes heal completely, with no complications. You're such a good Mom and Grandma!

Yep, we got more then enough snow, that's for sure! It's seems strange to me, but you're about the 5th person we know that has to replace their water heater this year. (but one of them turned out to not need to after all). I hope you're able to find one at a reasonable price, or even maybe someone you know will have an extra one they don't need... that's what happened to us when we had to replace ours years ago. I always wonder why the doctors won't remove those now instead of waiting... I'm sure there must be a good reason, but I don't know what it is...LOL, Cindy.........no I wasn't wanting to delete what I wrote about leaving my mom's bible to my sister. Well, it just goes to show that you didn't need to delete anything lol, if I couldn't even pick up on which part it was LOL
That would be awful to have the snow inside your boots. I guess we've been blessed as that never happened to any of my kids. By the time they'd come in to eat and change into a dry snowsuit, they'd all be soaked, including their socks, but that was all and it never stopped them from enjoying playing in the snow. In fact, they wouldn't have come in to change at all if I didn't bribe them with food and then insist they do so (and that they go to the bathroom first LOL) I still wonder why they can't make a child's snow boots water proof.... My grandkids are the same way. When they come over here, they head out into the yard when there's snow and I don't see them again until I insist they come in to dry off and get something to eat. I don't have a spare set of snowsuits for them, so I have to dry theirs in the dryer while they're eating. Then off they go again.... I never got the chance to do that as a kid since we lived in Arizona. By the time we got to Germany and I finally saw snow, I felt too old to really play in it, but I did get to go skiing and had a blast that way.
It's good that you don't have to deal with it where you are since you didn't enjoy it. I know if I had to shovel it or snowblow it that I wouldn't enjoy it much either.
Cheryl, I sure hope for a thunder storm. But not likely, now by the time these storm systems move east? Ya theres probably a better chance of thunder storms developing 🌩 . In Ron’s research of Payson, they get wicked good thunder storms 🌩 ! The even get snow! Just not much and it doesn’t stay. thank goodness for Friday’s! Speaking of thunderstorms and snow, did you all hear that in this latest storm that there were places that got thundersnow? They even showed it on the news so everyone could see it lol I don't know if we did or not, as I slept through most of it.
I hope you all have a great day today. I had to laugh earlier as I got a phone call from where Bruce works. So I answered it and it was Bruce...he tried to order a breakfast sandwich from me so I realized that he thought he was calling our market! So I broke in and kept saying, "honey," till he stopped talking and then told him that he'd called home. I could hear the other guys in the office with him, and he told them that he'd accidentally called his house, and of course they all started laughing at him. So I asked him if he wanted me to cook that up for him real quick so he could come and pick it up LOL. Yeah, right...not going to happen! Especially since they order it for all the guys there!

I got my pressure cooker and I have cooked two meals with the pressure cooker and I like cooking with it, what I cooked turned out to taste good. I bought the stainless steel 6 quart Presto one for 45 dollars, for some recipes the pot can only be filled 1/2 full and never more than 2/3 full. I need a cookbook to know how long to cook for, once up to pressure I cooked the chicken for 4 minutes and today I cooked the stew for 8 minutes, though I go one or two minutes over on the cooking time. Monday I will get the two pan inserts for the pressure cooker, which will allow me to steam cook meatloaf or probably a cake, I will be getting a cookbook for stovetop pressure cookers also in the mail with it. The electric pressure cooker instant pot is popular and most people buy that for 80 dollars or more. After having that pretty candy apple red fancy toaster that started on fire and Ron doesn't believe me that fire shot out of the toaster, I don't to pay that much money for an appliance that has buttons to push to make it work.

Cool here but no rain.
Cindy, I keep forgetting to answer your questions. About Bible Study - there is another Bible study here on Monday afternoon. It's led by the granddaughter of one of our residents. We're using a study book called "Jeremiah Daring to Hope in an Unstable World" by Melissa Spoelstra.
About my grandson's eyes - he had surgery on both eyes to remove the growths and all appears to be good. He needs one more check-up from the eye doctor, then he can get new glasses (or contact lenses) so he can drive again.
Hugs to all.

Hi, I also like to listen to rain when it is time to go to sleep. Sometimes I get so busy and I feel bad that I can not fellowship online listening to Mike or pastor Scott in learning or worship, that I play one of the books of the Bible at night on my computer, usually Psalms, I fall asleep and then night owl Ron turns off the computer early in the morning, since he stays awake most of the night. We have outdoors painting to do, I already did painting on warm winter days, the top outdoors trims painting, but now I need to buy paint for the rest. I want to finish as soon as possible because it will soon get to warm outside. Also, roofing needs to be done and I am limited in time to get tree flowers soon for my tea and flatbread. Cheryl I miss reading you talking about ED and I do like to read about your dad, what a character your dad was, so was mine, reminds me of my dad. I was going to tell you that I heard there was going to be a geomagnetic storm on March 18th, but now I read that news week says that is not going to happen, that the news about the storm was misrepresented by a Russia website and now I read that there will only be a minor storm at most. So I don't know. Wild birds have been fed birdseed and water this morning, check that off my list. Laundry is done washing and the coffee cup is empty.

Sorry everyone. I guess Mondays aren't a good day for me anymore. It seems that my body insists on sleeping for 12 hours on sunday nights, whether I like it or not. And if I wake up at my usual time of 6, I just fall back asleep at my desk until 9! So that puts me 3 hours behind right at the start. Throw in daylight savings time and I'm all messed up!Yes Cindy, I saw that! I tried to describe it to my co-workers..... I know I've heard/seen it before, but I honestly thought I'd imagined it until I heard on the news it was real LOL It’s Saturday! Kicking back in bed still, waiting for the water to boil.....then Time! Ron’s still sleeping 💤Ash is cuddled up at the foot of our bed and Mace 🐶 is between Ron and I...this is our typical Saturday morning! 😄 the weather people tell tell us it’s suppose to ☔️ Starting today through the weekend....we shell see.....🤨 That sounds so sweet! All you need is Jazzy in the bed with you too!I got my pressure cooker and I have cooked two meals with the pressure cooker and I like cooking with it, what I cooked turned out to taste good. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I know my mom did! I don't think she ever did cakes in hers, mainly the main dish for supper. I love falling to sleep to the sound of rain ☔️ Many people do. I don't mind it, except when it starts to sound like a faucet dripping LOL ugh, another Monday....pray it's a blessed one! I hope you had a good day! So far Jenn, Grace and Elijah have had that virus. Now we're just praying Bob doesn't get it, or at least not until this next weekend, as he just started a new job.Cool here but no rain. That's good that you have another one you can attend. Although I'm kind of surprised you're not leading one. I'm sure you'd do a fantastic job of it! That's great news about your grandson too!
today we have 40% chance of rain, then 20% the rest of the week all the way into next week! looks like winter showed up for spring!
yep, We're getting another foot of snow today. Fun.... Oh well, at least it's a light fluffy snow and not a heavy wet one like last time.Hi, I also like to listen to rain when it is time to go to sleep.
Sounds like you're staying busy. I've got so much to do that I don't know where to start. My neighbor just called to try and figure out the best times today and tonight to snowblow or plow. It's nice the way the three of us help each other. The Lord has blessed us with some really good neighbors.

yup, when Jazzy is here it's all three of us, and Mace of course.... it's raining! but its nice out at the same time...More weather moving across the country! Ron and I love watching it move across our country, on the weather radar site. lol, my Ron stays up late also, I'm usually down by 8 pm...up at 4/4:30 am.....I do sometimes watch the Ipad before falling off to sleep..I think I'll try listening to my bible, hadn't done that yet! I just got off the phone with my sister, a little bit ago, she showed me the snow at her place, it is pretty...all sticking to the trees, the fences. Even Sis' house! Attachment Deleted

LOL Of course Mace would be there too! That really paints such a lovely picture. Yes, it really is beautiful here still. We got a little over a foot from this last time, so that makes a little over 2 feet now and there's more snow coming later from what they said.
I know you guys must be tired of always hearing me say how far behind I am, but at least I know why i always feel that way. Before I started sleeping sitting up, I rarely slept more than 4 hours a night and sometimes not even that much. Since I was up due to pain, I spent the time in God's Word and posting on the board and checking my email, etc. I got a lot done during those nighttime hours! When I first started sleeping sitting up and actually slept all night for a change, I couldn't figure out why I was so far behind. it was well over 6 months before it finally dawned on me that I was working with anywhere from 4 to 6 hours less time than I used to have. Especially since I've slept for at least 10 hours a night ever since then. Then to add to that, it now takes me longer to do most things, at least anything that requires standing or walking, so that adds to it as well. So now you all know why I'm always so far behind lol. I guess I need to lower my expectations of what I can do now.....

I know what you mean. I always preferred to be busy at work, even if I had to "make work" for myself lol. It made the day pass much faster that way. But I guess with the kind of work you do that you can't really make work for yourself. It was easy were I worked since it wasn't much different then being at home. If I didn't have anything else to do, i could always clean lol and to top it off? its a Jazz of a Jazzy weekend! AND Ron's birthday! How wonderful! I hope you have a fantastic weekend and a great celebration too! Please wish Ron a very happy birthday from us too! It's actually been snowing (again) today but it won't amount to much. Still we already have more then enough already lol. Bruce is glad for the snow so he can ride his snowmobile, but I'm more then ready for Spring.
Thinking of that makes me wonder if we'll have seasons on the new earth that God makes for us where we'll live for eternity.... I imagine we will have them during the Millennium on this earth after it's been remade for us. Just one more thing to think about till we finally get there. I can't wait!!!!

Good morning Fresh Hope!
Happy St. Patrick's Day (even though we don't 'celebrate' it.... although when the boys were growing up we always did a green theme in food and clothes). It's also 11 years ago today that my maternal grandmother went home to the Lord.
Just sitting here with my coffee and Biscoff cookie, reading the week's chat, trying to wake up. It's a SeraphSong day- that's the Baptist ladies choir I sing with- our monthly concert is today, in Aiken, SC. Last month it was at my church. Don't think I mentioned it on FH, although I certainly did on FB (trying to advertise so people would come hear us). It was fun hosting the ladies at my church, but am thankful that's over with because it was a ton of work, making all the arrangements and prepping a snack supper for a group of 50 or more. Thankfully some friends at church volunteered to help.
Still loving my new job. The previous girl came back this week from maternity leave, so we are now sharing the hours, which is perfect (I was working full-time to begin with which gave me a chance to really get acquainted with the responsibilities). I worked 2 days this week and she did 3, and next week we'll reverse days.
The doctor is very easy-going and doesn't get upset when I make mistakes, thankfully!! Of course I try hard NOT to, but at times things can get super busy in there and it becomes a whirlwind - but that makes the day fly.

Anna, reading about your new pressure cooker reminded me that I found a new channel on YouTube to tell you all about. (The channel is not new, it's just new to me.)
She mostly does plain home-cooking demos and I LOVE watching her because a) she's a Christian b) she lives right here in SC c) she patiently explains things step-by-step. It's like watching my late mother-in-law cook.
Her name is Phyllis Stokes and if you have a few minutes, take a look at some of her videos. She's been talking a lot about their puppies and 2 rescue kittens in the last few weeks - one of the kittens learned to fetch! It was so cute to see!
Here's a recent video of her making jello (which she has discovered eases joint pain) - and at the very end she shows the full meal.

Here's a link to the page of her videos: www.youtube.com/user/phyllisue/videos

Attachment Deleted Good morning!🍀 breakfast at church this morning....our Jazzy is sick though 🙁 running a fever 🤒 not hi, but still a fever....so she won’t be able to join us. Jess is taking good care of her! She LOVES breakfast at church! Ash does also, so she’ll probably join us. Lorrie, that Youtube link looks interesting, I will share it with Ron, since he does most the cooking 🥘 now. Between him and Jess they do all the cooking. . Attachment Deleted

Can your Ron teach my Ron how to cook? lol I am lucky my husband can put a piece of bread in the toaster.
I went shopping yesterday, 3 hours of driving, my goal was to get paint, but I didn't get any paint. I went to a grocery store and loitered at a display of grapes on sale cheap, another woman and man and I were talking and the man was eating the grapes lol, more people started to gather around us, then I realized that I was hanging out at the water cooler too long and I told myself to walk away before security wants to join us. The rock music in the store was playing loud. I am better off just shopping at my usual place to shop.
