Hey, everyone. I'm not feeling up to par, so I'll try to make this short. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. Some medicine the doctor changed me to, has gone and ripped my stomach apart. I wonder if it's possible to make your doctor pay YOU to be their Guinea pig. I told them some stuff was wreaking havoc on my ulcers, so what did they do? Prescribed me an even stronger drug, more mg's and upped the dosage. OK, now that I got that out, and actually wore myself out, typing it, I'll move on. LOL
Lorrie, I'm glad to see that you did get some help with all the fixin's, but that still seemed like an awful lot of work. That video.............she lost me at the celery. LOL I'm so glad that you've found a good job that you can love to go to. That's rare and a blessing.
Anna, it seems that the more we are on this earth, the more things have gone to the dogs. Makes me want to go back to elevator music that was being piped in, rather that this head bang stuff they call music. And that eating the grapes. That's the VERY reason why I don't buy packages that look like they've been opened. Because I don't want what others have touched, with their germs. If they don't have any scruples to not eat the grapes, without paying for it, then I'm sure they don't have the scruples for cleanliness either.
Your story reminded me of my Mom, though, so here's yet another memory. (seems like that's all I have to share, these days) When Mom was pregnant, she craved chocolate covered peanuts. She'd get a big bag of them, in the store, and open them and eat them while she shopped for the rest of our groceries. It was so funny, as I was old enough to remember this........the clerk grabbed the bag from the wrong end, this one time, and the candy went flying all over the place! The clerk was so shocked and apologetic, and said she'd send someone to get her another bag that had not broke open. Mom said, "OH no, I opened that!" The woman said, "You're pregnant, so you get special treatment. I'll get you a new bag." LOL
Lulu, I'm sorry that Jazzy was under the weather. I hope she is better now. Man, looking at all your graphics, with the coffee, makes me want some. But, I managed 1/2 cup on Saturday, shut the pot off and dumped other 1/2 cup in the sink. I haven't eaten anything since Friday.
Cindy, I was ready for Spring, before winter started! We had snow again, last week. I knew there was a reason I didn't put away my shovel. But, what I call snow, you would call a dusting of cold white stuff. LOL Cindy, speaking for myself, I don't get tired of you saying how behind you are, all the time. Because I can relate to that. But, with your explanation, it makes total sense. I don't have that excuse, lol, but I'm happy to see that you are finally getting your rest.
Seems to me, that I'm missing someone. OK, Barbara. But, you haven't posted in a while. So, I'll just give you a cyber hug and wave.

Good morning Fresh Hope!
Happy St. Patrick's Day (even though we don't 'celebrate' it.... although when the boys were growing up we always did a green theme in food and clothes). It's also 11 years ago today that my maternal grandmother went home to the Lord.
Just sitting here with my coffee and Biscoff cookie, reading the week's chat, trying to wake up. It's a SeraphSong day- that's the Baptist ladies choir I sing with- our monthly concert is today, in Aiken, SC. Last month it was at my church. Don't think I mentioned it on FH, although I certainly did on FB (trying to advertise so people would come hear us). It was fun hosting the ladies at my church, but am thankful that's over with because it was a ton of work, making all the arrangements and prepping a snack supper for a group of 50 or more. Thankfully some friends at church volunteered to help.
Still loving my new job. The previous girl came back this week from maternity leave, so we are now sharing the hours, which is perfect (I was working full-time to begin with which gave me a chance to really get acquainted with the responsibilities). I worked 2 days this week and she did 3, and next week we'll reverse days.
The doctor is very easy-going and doesn't get upset when I make mistakes, thankfully!! Of course I try hard NOT to, but at times things can get super busy in there and it becomes a whirlwind - but that makes the day fly.
www.youtube.com/user/phyllisue/videos I'm glad you're still enjoying your job Lorrie. That always makes working so much easier. I can't even imagine hosting or preparing snacks for 50 people!!!! You're amazing! Anna, reading about your new pressure cooker reminded me that I found a new channel on YouTube to tell you all about. (The channel is not new, it's just new to me.)
She mostly does plain home-cooking demos and I LOVE watching her because a) she's a Christian b) she lives right here in SC c) she patiently explains things step-by-step. It's like watching my late mother-in-law cook.
Her name is Phyllis Stokes and if you have a few minutes, take a look at some of her videos. She's been talking a lot about their puppies and 2 rescue kittens in the last few weeks - one of the kittens learned to fetch! It was so cute to see!
Here's a recent video of her making jello (which she has discovered eases joint pain) - and at the very end she shows the full meal.
www.youtube.com/user/phyllisue/videos
Here's a link to the page of her videos: www.youtube.com/user/phyllisue/videos
Sounds like a neat channel for those who enjoy cooking! Good morning!🍀 breakfast at church this morning....our Jazzy is sick though 🙁 running a fever 🤒 not hi, but still a fever....so she won’t be able to join us. Jess is taking good care of her! She LOVES breakfast at church! Ash does also, so she’ll probably join us. Lorrie, that Youtube link looks interesting, I will share it with Ron, since he does most the cooking 🥘 now. Between him and Jess they do all the cooking. . Oh dear....poor baby. I hope she gets over it quickly and that none of you catch it. Can your Ron teach my Ron how to cook? lol I am lucky my husband can put a piece of bread in the toaster.
I went shopping yesterday, 3 hours of driving, my goal was to get paint, but I didn't get any paint. I went to a grocery store and loitered at a display of grapes on sale cheap, another woman and man and I were talking and the man was eating the grapes lol, more people started to gather around us, then I realized that I was hanging out at the water cooler too long and I told myself to walk away before security wants to join us. The rock music in the store was playing loud. I am better off just shopping at my usual place to shop. It sounds like you had a good time though. That's great!Hey, everyone. I'm so sorry the meds aren't working and that you're not feeling better yet Cheryl. I sure hope they find something that will work and won't bother your stomach. For now though is there something they could give you to help your stomach? Thanks for understanding about me being so "far behind all the time" lol I love the memories you share ...don't ever stop!Cheryl, wicked sorry your not feeling well...

It must be so hard on you all to not know if Jazzy is being cared for properly. At least we can know that she's in the Lord's hands and that He's watching over her. I hope your day goes well today and that work goes by fast.
Jenn's family still isn't completely over the bug that got started a couple of weeks ago, but at least the kids are fine. So Jenn brought them over yesterday but Bob stayed home as he's got it now. They had fun outside most of the day. But Gracie brought me her crochet project...she's hoping to make a blanket for her bed! I thought that was a little much for a very first project lol, but she's insistent and had already made a chain the full length of her bed! She didn't know how to do the next row as I hadn't shown her how to do that yet, so that's what she wanted me to teach her. I tried to and she understood, but she'd made her loops so tiny that it was almost impossible to get the hook through. I'd warned her about that, but she'd forgotten. So she tried, but then wound up asking if I'd do the second row and then let her take it from there as I'd make bigger loops LOL. So, I did! Once I'd done that (finally!) I had her show me that she could take it over from there and do the next row(s) herself. She did it just fine. The hard part is that she's and her mom are both left handed and I'm right handed so she has to reverse everything I show her. So she winds up doing it a little differently than I do, partly do to that, and partly due to her age I think. I just keep telling her though that with practice she'll be able to do it as easily as I do. I'm not sure she believes that yet. She's sure trying though! After that, Bruce cut Elijah's hair and we couldn't believe how much hair that boy had! I swear Bruce took more hair off his head then when he cut my hair which was below my waist! His hair didn't look long, but there was just so much of it! He wound up with a crew cut as that's what he wanted. I prefer it longer but it's his head as Bruce kept saying....

That reminds me, I need to give Ron a haircut, he has always kept his hair cut short and a shaved face but now he is keeping his hair long and has a full beard. Cheryl, I can understand about not wanting to buy fruit etc. in a grocery store that is not in a container. What you said reminded me of two store experiences that I had that had me thinking about how safe the food is to buy. One was, I was standing in line to return a shirt that I bought but was returning it because it was too small and the man behind me started talking to me, showing me a container of honey that he had bought and was returning and he was starting to tell me why he was returning the honey to the store when I was called to the counter to be served, so I didn't hear what he had to say but a thought crossed my mind of how easy it would be for someone to take home a bottle of honey, tamper with the seal and then return it and it would probably go back on the store shelf. Then another time I was shopping at a store and a man was sitting on the floor where the spices were and he had some bottles of spices on the floor, curious I stopped to see what he was doing but then he stopped what he was doing and just stared at me, so feeling shy I walked away, but I still wonder, and again think about the safety and if he was tampering with something would anyone even care to stop him or say something. So that had me thinking it might be best to buy some food online where it comes from a warehouse and not get some foods from the store, which I do, and now I need to buy honey, I think I will buy that online and not from a store that is open to the public for 24 hours a day Cindy your hair must be so pretty being so long that it is below your waist. I remember you once showed a picture of your long hair. Leigh, nice video that Phyllis Stokes put out, I once had her on my favorites, but now I have too many videos of my favorites. Lulu, I did not know that a parent could e-mail a teacher. Marge, I hope you are enjoying nice weather now. I need to buy more bird seed. Barbra, PB is going to India in the month of May, he will have videos of the revival that will happen there, so that will be interesting, Lord willing.

Really windy here today. The sun was out but the wind was chilly.
My daughter texted me that her oldest Boxer dog has cancer. I'm not sure how old the dog is. So sad.
Still clearing stuff out. I'm trying to find a home in a museum or something like that for my old, old teddy bears. They're not in good shape (just like us!). One was mine as a child and the other was my hubby's.
Hope everyone has a restful evening.

I know it would be to me, if I had something that my parents treasured as a child.

Attachment Deleted well, it's Tuesday, I made it through another Monday! Anna, my Ron's sporting a beard and he's letting his hair grow long also! must be a Ron thing! .... Yes, parents can email their children's teachers these days, now getting an answer is a whole other story. So far Matt's been blessed with having a good relationship with Jazzy's teachers. they know the problems between him and Jazzy's mother, and Jazzy has made it clear she wants to live with her Dad...So they listen to her Dad~! yes it is hard knowing she's not being taken cared for by a mommy.....her mother is just a mother....not a mommy...

Well, my hair isn't long anymore since Bruce cut it. It's past my shoulders is all now. But alot easier to care for and more comfortable too. I finally got outside to feed our poor birds and critters yesterday. The squirrels were so upset that I hadn't fed them in almost 2 weeks that they moved the roof off the bird feeder and dumped what little was in it onto the ground by swinging it until it tipped over LOL. Normally I keep a bunch on the ground in a ground feeder for those who prefer eating on the ground, as well as some in the hanging feeder to those who like to eat there. But I haven't been up to walking out there, and the snow had covered up the ground feeder. They're all happy now though.

That's a plus that the teachers will listen to Matt. That doesn't always happen around here, regardless of whether or not it should. I sure wish Matt could afford a really good attorney so he could get custody of her. My youngest son, Jonathan, never got custody of his daughter, although he wanted to and thought about it. But he'd always stop before going through with it because he didn't want to cause any more problems with her mother and wanted her to have her mother too. He's very sorry about it now and has been since Jessie was about 17.(she's 21 now). I know he'd give anything if he could go back in time and get full custody of her. Her mother really messed her up royally, and did so all her life - it just didn't all come out until she was about 17. She's going to have a lot of sorrow in her life now unless the Lord saves her from herself. I did the same thing though as we never pressed legally for grandparent rights as I didn't want to cause problems for Jon. Now I wish I'd have done so anyway. I guess what they say is true...hindsight is always 20/20. I just keep her in my prayers and hope that one day I'll see her in heaven.

Lulu, I meant to answer this when you posted it, and realized that I didn't. I just wanted to say how much it pleases me that the school is paying more attention to what Matt says regarding his daughter's care. That, to me, sounds like such a breath of fresh air, knowing what he and y'all have been through for that baby girl. I know it's been such a long hard road, but she is SO worth it. I love that email ability. Too bad they didn't have that option years ago. It would have made my son's life so much better, with the hair brained teachers that he had. To the point where I had to bring in the police, to stop the bullying...........but that's a different subject and this message to you is SO not about me. LOL

Her mom is threatening to take her out of this school also, they couldn’t tell Matt the particulars but he said he would fight it, cause she said something about a charter school, Matt can’t afford paying for half of the cost! So there could be another court battle coming, and it fits her time line, it’s every couple years she pulls something resulting in a court day. 🤨🙁

I remember in junior high school a teacher that took one kid and his desk and flipped the boy over backwards and his desk onto the floor. The male teacher would have anger outbursts. I was glad when the season was over and I was out of that class. Another time I passed a note to a girlfriend that had R rated content written in the note and the teacher took the note and read it. Good thing there was no e-mail to contact a parent, but he did try by phone and a letter in the mail, that surprised me. About a smelly house, if I liked the layout of the home, the neighbourhood and the price of the home, I would not care about a smoke smell, that can be fixed. I once had a smelly apartment, I had a guinea pig and I thought it was so cute to let him run free, he would squeal happily. Then the landlord said he was going to show my apartment to some bank loan people and I sprayed scents in the apt but it was too much so I opened the window until I could barely smell the scent, so in walked two men and a woman to look at the apartment and the woman had her nose in the air sniffing like my dogs do when they are outdoors and she said, " What is that smell, it smells like burnt toast, but?" She kept sniffing. lol I still remember what that woman looked like. The men didn't care about the smell they were looking at the apartment.

I just got caught up reading...sorry.
I had a strange week or more, on top of all the usual aches and pains....I got a really bad pain in my right leg from my hip to my knee, and at the same time I had a weird fluttering in my right breast ( something between a feather duster tickle to a lite shock....very annoying, but the leg pain was mucho hurtful.
Then yesterday, they just went away.
But I have been having a hard time staying awake also. I think part of it is because its still mostly cold and rainy. I just am chair bound. Maybe because the chair I live in is the same that I sleep in?
It's was interesting about the food video ( I will watch it today) because I have been watching a lot of videos fermenting food....like sauerkraut....
but what I did not know was.... you can ferment almost anything.
lemons, blueberries, garlic, potatoes, etc etc.
The deal is the probiotics is supposed to be very healthy, but more than that it helps with digestion greatly ( for people who have stomach problems.)
I always thought it was hard to do, but turns out it is easy and cheep.
I have to watch grandson today, in a little bit, because it's half day...so I need to do Bible study.
I thought that was an interesting thought about if we will have seasons in eternity future Cindy. I am so sorry to hear about you finger yikes! Thank you for the cyber hug Cheryl!!
Missed you all will try to get here a little more regular like LOL

My aloe vera plant which was healthy, like died overnight, even some of the plants that I had outdoors seemed to do that also. I like to have plants but I think I should give up on having them. I am just wasting my money if I buy plants and they don't stay alive. I even have this thought wondering if the problem could be something like radon gas coming up from the ground. Wait a minute, I just typed that into a search and I am glad to know other people have the same question, but no, I read that is just a myth. OK oh well.

Margie, don't your children or grandchildren want those teddy bears? Wow, that would be like gold to them. I know it would be to me, if I had something that my parents treasured as a child. No, they don't want any of them. I've checked twice to make sure. I don't have anything that belonged to my grandparents, and only a few things that belonged to my mother. My daughter said that the Boxer dog with cancer is 12 years old. The vet said it's cancer of the lymph nodes and there isn't any cure. She isn't in pain now so they will keep her until she does seem to be in pain.

Sorry I bailed on you guys. My thumb is slowly getting better. At least now I can stand it if it touches the key board accidentally.
I'm sorry to hear about the possibility of mud slides Lulu. I hope it doesn't happen, but it seems like it does just about every year lately.
I'm sorry to hear you've been in pain too Barbara, and hope you're doing better today.
Hope you all have a good day!

Hi all, Boy oh boy! I had this big ol' post all typed up, then Star got sick and when I came back form cleaning it up my post was all gone! We think it was the bbq ribs from dinner last night. So I'll see what I can remember, Chelsea doesn't have a child yet, because she's going to adopt and she requested 5 to 10 years old they'll be more selective in who she gets. We've been really busy as we have been helping an elderly lady on Friday mornings. Been taking Star to the local park for a walk after dinner most days. He used to have a big yard he could run in but now that we have moved to town, we only have a small front yard about 6 by 12 feet so not much room to roam. Sometimes Stan comes with us but between the diabetic nueropathy and plantar fascitis his feet are usually to painful, specially if he worked that morning. He did get specially designed shoes through our insurance and they've helped a lot but some days are better than others. We haven't been going to church for quite awhile as after the pastor left at the church we were going to they just couldn't seem to find one who was a good fit and would stay and then I started working every Sunday. Then a couple weeks ago Stan ran into to some people we know from our old church and they started going to one here in town that they really like. Some others from our old church also go there. Turns out they have a full on Sunday morning type service on Saturday evenings at 5pm so we started going a few weeks ago and so far so good! We were going to go to Katies grave today and spruce it up some but the weather is not cooperating. We've not really had a winter but then today it gets cold, windy, rainy. Oh well there's next week. We have to good size planters with fake flowers we are going to take set them into the ground and then a small white fence to put around the grave. we are also going to paint the cement that holds the marble marker yellow. Nickies dad used colored cement and set the marker in the cement but the cement looks more gold than yellow so we are going to spray paint it. Tomorrow is the fifth anniversary so we decided we are going to Pueblo rather than sit home and think. Katie wouldn't want us to do that and none of us work tomorrow so if we don't do something we'll just sit home. And this is the short version of my post! You all are always in my prayers.

Wow, Lee, you don't post very often, but when I see your name.....that you've posted, it's always really something to look forward to. I hope that they find a child for Chelsea to love, soon. If they find her a child, younger, will she be open to it? I'm sorry that Stan is having such a hard time getting around. I know that wheelchairs are something people don't want to admit that they need, but it might help him to get out and about more. I'm happy to see that you've been able to find another Church Home to attend! I'm sorry you lost your post. The board has a draft feature. I think you can turn it on or off, in your profile. You might want to check that, so it doesn't happen to you, again.
The idea that you have for Katie's grave sounds cute. The yellow spray paint idea sounds good. Do they have yellow cement tinting? You can do the same thing with that, if they have the right color and it might last longer in the bleaching sunlight. Wow..........5 years. Doesn't hardly seem that long ago. This year is 25, for me.

We went to our daughter's house today. Had pizza for lunch. The Boxer with cancer will have surgery tomorrow morning to remove cancerous nodes. The vet will determine if any more treatment would help her much. The dog doesn't act "sick." She wanted treats from me just as much as the other two dogs.
Our daughter had a realtor come to her house on Friday to give an estimate of how much needs to be fixed and what the house might sell for. In the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, houses are selling pretty fast.
Hope everyone has a good week. Hugs.

Katie wouldn't want us to do that and none of us work tomorrow so if we don't do something we'll just sit home. And this is the short version of my post! You all are always in my prayers. What a wonderful idea that church has of having a "Sunday" service on Saturday evenings for those who can't make it on Sunday. Something like that would work for people like me, who can't make it to a morning service. I'll have to pray that one of our churches does the same thing. I'm sorry to hear about Stan's neuropathy. I know how painful that is! I wasn't aware though that you could get shoes specifically for that or are they for the plantar fascitis? Your plan for Katie's grave sounds really pretty. Will you take a picture of it? If so, I'd love to see it. I hope you're doing well. We sure do miss you, but I can see how busy you all are. Take care hon, and God bless you!Wow, Lee, you don't post very often, but when I see your name.....that you've posted, it's always really something to look forward to. Hi Cheryl! It was good talking to you last week. I sure hope you're feeling better. I'll have to try and give you a call tomorrow. Just a quick hi.....lots of stuff going on today...always happens when landlord comes, plus grandchildren's father ( who they have not seen for over a year) is visiting... and Leonard is driving a youngish guy to go shopping etc.
Soooooo......be back later. :-) Sounds like you're all pretty busy. Hope you're feeling well! nice Saturday thus far...kinda lazy, save we did get our bed room done, from ceiling, down the walls and a bed change...our ceiling fan is NEVER off, and the dust just sticks to the walls...it feels fresh and clean! How nice! We used to have a couple of ceiling fans, but wound up getting rid of them. Partly due to the fact that they obviously hadn't been cleaned since the house was built, and there was no way I could ever have gotten them clean myself, lolWe went to our daughter's house today. Had pizza for lunch. The Boxer with cancer will have surgery tomorrow morning to remove cancerous nodes. The vet will determine if any more treatment would help her much. The dog doesn't act "sick." Poor puppy. I imagine the Lord must hate it when His children or His animals or birds, etc get sick. It must really hurt Him, since He never wanted it to be that way for any of us. I hope you're having a good day today!

heart aches for your daughter and her dog dogstaff, it's hard letting them go....or watching them go.... I've done that too when my eyes hurt. What's funny though is when they hurt and I have to go to the bathroom, so I try and walk with my eyes closed lol. Or I'll just open one eye a tiny bit to make sure I'm where I think I am LOL. I hope your eyes are feeling better and that work doesn't strain them again today.

Ouch!Sounds like something Ron would do!
Your Ron also? My Ron has had to have stitches in his hands before from getting cuts. I was chatting with Jeff and PooAnna, and we were talking about volcanic ash, like from the volcanoes in Mexico that have erupted and we all live in the southwest. The volcanoes have put ash (glass particles) into the air and maybe that is why we have had eye irritation lately because ash can travel for thousands of miles in the air.
