“He who seeks good finds goodwill, but evil comes to him who searches for it.” (Proverbs 11:27)
Since we were way overdue for a new thread, i figured I'd better start it since no one else had. So here's the last few posts from the old thread..... including today's. Awwww so sorry you are feeling so poorly Cindy...I will continue praying for you, Thanks Barbara, I appreciate it!Thank you, Kel. I do have a tendency to butt in, but I couldn't resist correcting that. I would panic too, if I thought you'd be going to Los Angeles. I'm not too keen on Jackson Louisiana, and really hope that you aren't going to be going there, but the rest of the state, I didn't have any issues with. Jackson was the first place that I experienced discrimination, because I was a white woman, and observed how they treat anyone white. It was shocking! Especially when I don't discriminate against anyone by reason of color, age or financial status. (whether poor or rich) Not just once, but every single time I had to stop in that city, when I drove a truck. I won't go into details, because it is behind me, but I felt like a fish out of water, there.
I just hope that the high humidity and the pollen level doesn't mess with your asthma. You've been there, so how is it for you?
Cindy, it was so great hearing your voice on the other end of the phone, yesterday. I'm just so sorry that it was a moment of very high..........ummm....how can I put this.... very high adrenalin and really ticked of moment.... OK, that was putting it mildly, but you were the recipient of that rant, and I'm so truly sorry about that.
I wanted to hear more about you, but I was in panic mode about my own issues. I'm much calmer today, and have some hope for what may come next, but am still embarrassed that you had to hear my rantings. Now, you know what Ruthanne puts up with.
No problem Cheryl. Please don't be embarrassed or concerned about it. I'm just glad you were able to get some of it off your chest. You can call me anytime. Cheryl, thanks for the explanation. I too read LA as Los Angeles. Hope everyone starts feeling better. For Christmas I got the family cold and felt bad for about 2 weeks. I'm doing better. Hugs That's not a fun Christmas gift, but I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Hope you're back to 100% soon!Cheryl, I actually live in a worst state for pollens. I am allergic to every plant and tree in WA.. The humid weather does not bother my asthma, the doctor thinks i should live someplace tropical like hawaii, and since that isn't a real option, i.e.: too expensive and island fever, the next best thing is LA. (we don't like Florida) Nope we will be North LA. Jackson is pretty far south. I know the state is split in 3 demos , white, black, cajun. But the times we've been there have been good. We had one situation about 17 years ago.. I too won't go into details, but when we go in March we hope to get more ideas Sounds like a good place for you then. I hope you enjoy it. I know I did when I was there. Kel:
Interesting about your asthma being worse in Wash. I am beginning to think that maybe some people may develop allergies/asthma to whatever they are exposed to, wherever they live.
Our son, Had the highest level of allergies to almost everything in Hawaii at age 3 ( our children were born there), he had to take Benadryl as a little child daily.
The allergies improved when we moved to the mainland ( Northern West Coastal areas),
but ....
since he and his wife moved down to Texas, the allergies have gotten bad again, so that he just takes Benadryl every day.... again.
However, you have asthma and allergies to all things Northern Pacific but fair well in warmer climate....just the seeming opposite of Michael.
I wonder how either of you might fais, say where Cindy lives....on the Northern East Coast? I know it would still be 'north' but totally different florna etc.
So Michael very very long list of allergens were all Hawaiian native plants etc. ( along with things like cats and foods)....
but even at age 3 we did not get rid of our cats ( I know it sound like bad parents) but seriously....
Tho he was such a laid back, easy going, sweet, obedient child.....
On that one issue, he would have packed his little bags and left home, if we had gotten rid of the cats.....
and to this day at age 43...he has 3 cats of his own..... he never wanted to live a life without his beloved cats.....
Strangely, Hossanah ( his 14 mt older sister, our daughter) also has 3 cats ( they also both have black cats LOL).
I also wonder if over time, even tho for years, allergies and/or asthma may clear up for years with a move to a different location, could in some cases, find new allergies, over the years, then pop up?
But sort of like Michael and the cats, most folks find ways to live even with their enemy allergies ( but Michael loved his 'enemy' the cats LOL)
and really, you guys are happy with the South.... that is more important. I had lived almost all of my life next to the ocean ( first the Atlantic, the Pacific in Hawaii.....but for about 15 years inland in Calif. and several inland when we moved to Oregon.....
I just hated not being by the ocean... oh I had friends and of course the Lord....while living inland....
but my 'happy' place was by an ocean.... ( maybe my genetics....Irish, Scotch, English, French) so that my blood, as the old saying goes, had sea water in it LOL
So I was not 'happy' stuck in a 'desert' ( anywhere inland is a 'desert' to me) HA! Often allergies to things will clear up when the person continues to be around it, or if they're exposed to very small amounts of it for awhile. At least so the doctors say. The problem is though that it doesn't always happen that way. My middle son had asthma as a baby very badly, and it continued as he grew up. But suddenly, when he was about 8 years old, it went away and stayed away for many years! It was really weird. Even stranger though was that just as suddenly came back, though no where near as bad. That happened when he was about 15. Interestingly he only had to deal with it for about a year and it disappeared again, this time for good. My grandson, Elijah was very severely allergic to cats. You guys probably remember me telling you how I'd try and get the house as clean from cat hair as possible before they'd come over when he was little. But over the years, his allergy to cats got better and now he's not allergic to them at all.
I don't think keeping your cats made you a bad parent at all. You did what you felt was best, and you were most likely right.
Oh as far as living in different areas goes, I remember reading a report about allergens in Arizona. Doctors used to send people who had really bad allergies to Arizona because it had so few allergens. But that's changed dramatically due to people bringing in things that weren't native to Arizona. Now Arizona has more allergens than anyplace else! From what I've read, there's no longer much of a difference between one state and another as far as allergens go.
Hi, I am not writing much because I don't like typing on forums anymore. Scrolling chat is nice because I can type something and someone can respond and then it all disappears. I am guessing most new people that sign onto a forum just sign on to private chat with someone. I have been busy doing outdoors painting. I am reading a book pastor Scott's wife wrote, that is at his site for free. I have been having problems going to a small town near me so I have been checking out driving to a city. I have just noticed how it is becoming more necessary to have a cellphone that can have apps put on it, I am behind, I don't have that and have never used apps before, I might have to make that change in the future and get a better cellphone other than a tracfone. I have seen deer around here lately and have been enjoying taking my dogs for walks. Good day to you all. I'm sorry you don't like coming here anymore Marlene. I sure miss you when we don't hear from you, but I can understand where you're coming from. Know that my love and prayers will be with you whether you post or not, and someday we can sit together in New Jerusalem and catch up on what all has been going on with each other!

Thank you for understanding, Cindy. I was quite upset that day. I've calmed down considerably, now, though.
And thank you for making a new chat thread. I didn't know that we could make a new one. I've only seen them started by you, and thought about it, the other day after seeing that the other one was 20 pages long. But, thank you for making a new one.
It is snowing here. SNOWING I tell ya'!! It all started last night. I stepped outside for a smoke and realized it wasn't raining anymore, it sounded like hail. Then realized my cars were all white. ew ew ew! Today, when I woke up everything is white, and then a little while later we had big huge snowflakes coming down and blowing around. It looked like a blizzard. But, in a few days, it will all be melted and gone, so that's the blessing of living in the south.

I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT! lol
Awe Anna I hope you come back to chat.. I don't always get a chance to come in and talk, but when I do I love hearing how everyone is doing. :)
My asthma prevents me from having cats. SO allergic that being around them has put me in the hospital more than once. I've had such bad asthma since a kid, grew up in hospital, then around 9-10 it subsided until i was 15, went on a hayride and that caused it to come back with a furry. as an adult, with my doctor i've had for over 10 years.. he has really got it under control. i have to take a steroid inhaler daily, but i hardly need my rescue inhaler anymore. now i deal with sever skin allergies. I see a new doc today for that. I hope he can help.
We've got most of the painting down in the house.. now i need to start buying tubs for packing I feel a little overwhelmed lol because there are still some parts of the house that needs to be fixed. like our bathroom, freshen the kitchen, paint dev's room and the rec room, and fix the garage door.. lol

You can call me anytime Cheryl!
Well, you can get the next chat thread if you'd like, ok?
That's so weird. We had about a foot of snow, but over the last few days it's almost all melted. The weather has been really strange. Unlike any I've seen here before. We've often had days when it was way below 0, and sometimes several days in a row, but never more than 2 weeks of that! And after that, the weather went in the opposite direction and the temps have been in the high 40's and even 50's for a couple of days. So the snow is all gone. Then the temps went back to below 0 at night and below freezing during the day. Now we're getting ready for another snow storm. Weird..... I have a funny feeling that no one has found the new chat. It could take awhile lolI FOUND IT! I FOUND IT! lol Awe Anna I hope you come back to chat.. That's great your doc has the asthma under control. I hope you get the skin allergies under control as well.
Sorry I wasn't here yesterday, but once again the injection made me feel really sick yesterday and I wasn't up to doing anything at all. I'm some better today though.

Yup! I could not find it....well, I didn't look but I found it too!!!
For some reason your snow reaction made me laugh Cheryl.... And then Cindy's weather....that is weird too!!!
Add me to the list of those who will miss you Anna!!!!
Sunday was kind of disappointing....Leonard and I have been wanting to go to church for a few months....soooooo finally we both we able, ready and got to the church.
I had meant to bring ear plugs..... because always previously, the music is soooooooooooooooooo LOUD!!! I would like to keep my hearing! It never really bothered Leonard tho.....
UNTIL
This sunday. First when we got there ...a lady was singing super loud some bluesy song but neither of us could tell what she was singing about...not even one word.... Oh well
But then, They put on the screens, a video of a gospel rapper.... That was not even the problem....I believe it is possible some Christian rappers could sing songs that honor our Lord I still don't love bringing in the world as a way to lure in unbelievers It always feels to me like the message could be misconstrued as
you can continue to live your life just like always....JUST ADD JESUS!
But nooooo the problems was when the rap video came on and the music director and singers getting ready to do their worship songs and were dancinf to the rapper
it was louder than it had ever been...and I forgot to bring my earplugs and we were in the absolute back! It was sooooooooooooo loud that Leonard, who was never even bother a bit before said, "Let's leave" It was deafening....louder that standing by a jet engine....ear hurting loud!
At first, I didn't say anything....thinking maybe the engineer ( or who ever runs the sound system, made a mistake and would fix it...to a dull roar)
But no and Leonard asked me again so we left!
It was disappointing to the max, because it was the first time we both were able to go.....in a long long time.
Anyway, I listened to a John MacArthur sermon on youtube when I got home
and did our Bible study (here on fresh hope) that I do with Cindy ( I guess Eva is gone for good? She used to join us for the longest time, but it's been months now sigh!).
I am so grateful, that I have a place to do Bible Study because getting to a church is so hard, and then, on the rare occasion we go it didn't work out.
I know I need an attitude adjustment, but it just felt like they were trying to impress young people to come to church by trying to provide a rap/rock concert entertainment atmosphere....
maybe I am being just toooooo judgemental, but it really hurt my ears ( and even Leonard's)..... but we seemed to be the only ones with the problem.

I don't think you're being judgemental at all. There's no way I would have stayed there, even if the music wasn't super loud. I don't think church is the place for "rap", at least not when we're supposed to be worshiping God. I don't think there should be any "heavy metal" music for worshiping God either, or other kinds. We're to "fear God" and have a reverent attitude toward Him and that kind of music doesn't support the kind of attitude we're to have toward the Lord.

Thank you Cindy.....it seems like there are very very few places that don't have heavy metal or rap any more. When I watch John MacArthur's sermons ( it's not the Sunday worship service) but I have noticed the is just a piano on stage, not drums, guitars and so on with major big sound equipment.
But truly this was louder than the normal loud ( that already hurt my ears....thus I was going to bring ear plugs but forgot).
And Leonard never ever complained of the loudness before but this was waaaay over the top for him....he was the one that wanted to leave immediately.
I really think it was rock concert loud or louder.
Its sad because it is the only even possible church we can go to...
there is a Catholic church, but we won't go there, and an episcopal and a Pentecostal ( where people keep getting words directly from the Lord type of thing) but none of those will work Soooo I will continue watching MacArthur and others.

Barbara, I feel the same way that you do about that sort of "music". To me it is not music, but noise. We are to make a joyful noise unto the Lord, not head bang noise. I'd leave too, because if the song choices are that bad, I'd be afraid of what the sermon might be.
Even K-Love Radio has been playing rap and other unfamiliar types on their station. When they start that, I have to shut it off. I sing along with contemporary Christian music, but that is not music, nor is it contemporary, nor hymns.
No, you don't need an attitude adjustment. Stay in the Lord and your attitude is pleasing to Him.

Hope everyone is staying warm. Hugs to all. I hope you are too, Margie. It's been frigid cold here. The sunlight helps a little, but not for long, because the days are so short. And then everything freezes up again. We had a lot of rain, just before it snowed and froze, so it's a mess around here. It is 9 degrees out there right now, with the windchill it's -1. But, I sure hope the weather channel is correct. It's supposed to be 42 degrees on Friday, and 57 on Sunday.

Hi I am taking a break from an online Bible study of the 2nd and 3rd chapter of Colossians.
I heard yesterday that there was a low temperature of minus 88 degrees below zero in Russia, what? I have never heard of the temps. being that low, and that was not windchill. The temp. on the planet Mars is minus 86 degrees zero. Info in case anyone plans to move there.lol Going back to my Bible study now.

Anna:
A google search said:
The lowest natural temperature ever directly recorded at ground level on Earth is
−89.2 °C or in fahrenheit which is what I am used to
−128.6 °F;
or whatever K is for?
184.0 K
at the Soviet Vostok Station in Antarctica on July 21, 1983 by ground measurements.
I think the new England.... either a New Hampshire or Vermont mountain,
got below minus 30 something ( but felt lower with wind chill, I would imagine).

I think the new England.... either a New Hampshire or Vermont mountain,
got below minus 30 something ( but felt lower with wind chill, I would imagine). Mount Washington is where our weather station is and it's always interesting to see what's going on there. We've gone up there a few times before I got hurt. It's beautiful, and cold LOL
Mount Washington, New Hampshire: The Most Extreme Weather Observatory on Earth Mt. Washington measured 566.4 inches of snow during the winter of 1968-69.A 231-mph wind gust was observed in April 1934.A temperature of 47 degrees below zero was recorded in January 1934. Mt. Washington, New Hampshire, is home to the most extreme weather observatory on Earth.
Located in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire at 6,288 feet, the observatory features some of the world's most fascinating weather. This was one of the first mountaintop weather stations in the world.
The only months of the year Mt. Washington has not recorded a below-zero temperature are June, July, August and September. In fact, in July, the warmest time of the year for much of the Northeast, temperatures have dipped as low as 24 degrees on Mt. Washington. This occurred in July 2001.
A former intern at Mt. Washington Observatory, Samuel Hewitt, told weather.com, "In January 2014, I experienced 120-mph winds in 26 degrees below-zero temperatures, which equates to a wind chill of roughly 80 degrees below zero. I got frostbite on the tip of my nose in less than 30 seconds."
As expected, snow and ice are common up at 6,288 feet. Measurable snow has been recorded in each month of the year at Mt. Washington Observatory. Even in the summer, July averages a trace of snow and August averages 0.1 inches of snow. In fact, 1.1 inches of snow was measured atop Mt. Washington in July 1957, and 2.5 inches was measured in August 1965.

Neat weather stats Cindy!!! :-) I am kind of a weather bug.... so it seems like you, me and Anna have that in common ( well Lord Jesus Christ is first and foremost)...but animals, flowers etc. But I found those stats so interesting!!! Cool. I would have like to have seen Mt. Washington... I grew up in Conn. so maybe my parents took me there...the mt. I do remember was Mt. Cadillac in Maine...but I was having some kind of melt down, and we never got to the top ( dad was driving) So bummer

Pastor Scott wife had an accident with her car. I don't remember if he lives in OR or PA, so many of the people live in PA. She was driving to work doing about 40mph on a highway that has logging trucks drive down it and her car just went off to the left unexpectedly, they don't know if something was wrong with the car or if it was because of oil or diesel on the highway. The car went 25 feet down an embankment to mud and flipped over upside down. She was able to get her seatbelt unbuckled but her cellphone would not work, and she was trapped inside the car. A man and his two teenage sons stopped and went to the car to help her, they pulled on the door and she had to kick at the door to get it to open and she was able to use the man's cellphone to call Scott. It took two wrecker trucks to get the car out of there. She was OK, just sore and a cut on her arm from the glass as the windshield was shattered. She went back to work the next day. Good to hear she was OK after that.

so I really like the new skin doctor. My MIL goes to this clinic and its the same company I go to in my town, HOWEVER.. THIS clinic is SUPER nice. I love it and will go out of my way to go there to see him. He listened to me and changed up my meds and they are helping! A little prayer for my Daisy girl.. she really hurt her knee.. vet says not much to do but wait it out, she is putting light weight on it. but can't jump up or down on her side of the couch.. poor thing.. I know she is hurting.. I'm watching Amazing race.. crazy people I'm so glad you found a good doctor! That's such a big help! Poor baby, I'll pray for her right now, but hope she's already doing better.
It's beautiful there, but then I think all of NH is LOL. Yes, I'm a weather nut too. When I was working, it was kind of funny because everyone at work, or at church, just everyone I knew would always ask me what the weather was going to be for our area, because they knew I always kept track of it. They'd even call me instead of watching the weather for themselves LOL A little warmer here today, but not by much. My Sunday School class has a monthly birthday lunch and since I'm one of 2 or 3 January birthday people, I got to pick the cafe. I had a great time. How nice! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's warmer here too, or has been for the last few days anyway. Got up to the 30's and everyone kept saying it felt so warm, almost hot! LOL I think it's because it'd been so very cold and way below 0 for so long that this feels like spring now. But it's about to end tomorrow, and then it's back to the cold for us. How awful! I'd have been terrified! I'm so glad she's OK though, thank the good Lord!
I had a visitor yesterday, and it was so wonderful! Stephanie, Pastor Rob's wife came by to see me. He's the pastor of the church that Jenn and Bob go to. It was so wonderful to get to visit with someone else who loves the Lord and His Word. it was funny too because we were talking about some of our favorite stories in the OT and we'd wind up quoting the words to the end of the story at the same time! It was certainly a precious gift from the Lord for sure and i thoroughly enjoyed it!
Then, afterward, it was off to another doctors appointment again lol

What is you doc appointment for this time? I go to my doc this Thurs. i wonder if people will ask us that in heaven LOL. Maybe since we'll still have things like rain and snow I would think, as the plants will need that. Who knows?
It was just a regular check up. I told him I was getting better...then the very next day it all fell apart and I was back to square one. I've finally realized that Satan has been having a heyday with me and my family lately, so now I'm fighting back, or rather, asking the Lord to! Yesterday was bad pain wise too. It got better in the late afternoon but then when I went to bed it got worse then ever and still is, so I've got some more praying to do shortly.
Let us know how your appointment goes hon, ok?

I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I will continue to pray of course.
Not that I am in anywhere as near as much pain as you....but mine is a bit worse, but then I always go down hill pain wize in the winter...
I do try to up my vit D ( because of little or no sun, and if I have any...which I don't right now, I take extra vit C for the same reason.
I like coconut-pineapple Emergen-C....I add it to a juice ( its fizzy so it a 'treat' to me....but it's a little spendy so I don't have any.
I go today to see doc so will give you update tomorrow. He may ask how I am doing with the immediate release morphine ( in order to cut it out altogether).....it is fine, but the idea is a step down and out.

Thanks hon. That's his idea, that doesn't mean it's God's idea or yours. But you have to tell him the truth too. Gotta run. Going to my grandaughters "authors tea" I just hope I can manage the walk!

Good day Cindy Good day Barbra Someday we all will probably have a fresh hope tea party, I think so. Speaking of gummy vitamins, I just bought gummy Vitamin C, looks like candy and tastes like candy, and I also bought chewable magnesium. How was the author tea?

Just popping in to say hello. Things have been a little bit not so right, around here, lately, but the Lord is in control, and I trust Him.
Could everyone please remember our nation's schools in your prayers? Three days ago, a school in my county was attacked by a gunman. Or shall I say a child driven by satan. It's become National news, so y'all may have heard about it. It was Marshall County HS in Benton, KY. A 15 year old student opened fire in the school, just before classes were to start and wound up killing two 15 year old children. And 12 other children are recovering from gunshot wounds. And then today, I read a story that was written by a man I know, who's daughter went back to the school to retrieve her purse, and in doing so, they found a bullet lodged in her purse. Her purse apparently...no let me rephrase that..... GOD saved his child from being another victim of this senseless act of violence.

Hi everyone - just now seeing this new thread. I have to leave for work in less than an hour (35 minutes to be exact) and am not even dressed yet, so I don't have time to read all the posts, but I did see what Cheryl wrote right above me. That is an amazing story about the bullet in the girl's purse. WOW. Yes, God certainly did save her life. Thank You Lord.
I will try to get back later and read to catch up on what everyone is doing. Love to everyone.

I heard mention of the school shooting in KY two days ago and I thought we are not hearing about these shootings anymore. Just now at chat someone wrote that since Sept 2017 there have been 50 school shootings. It must be stressful for children to go to school nowadays in a way that we did not have to deal with. We can see strange things happening nowadays and it makes me feel sick to see or experience these changes.

Hi guys. That's incredible about how the bullet was stopped by the girls purse Cheryl! Praise God! Hope you're doing well. I'm praying for you hon.
I'll be glad to pray for them too Lulu, as well as you of course. I'm so sorry for your loss.
It's amazing how frequently there are shootings in schools now days Marlene. I hate having any of my grandkids in public school because of it.
Have a good day Lorrie!
Well, I'm alive, but have a bunch of paperwork and phone calls to make today so can't hang out long here. Hope you all have a good day.
