Guess what? The Lord just gave us another miracle! I had told Him how awful I was feeling physically, and that mentally and emotionally I just wasn't up to dealing with workers comp or getting a lawyer. But there's no way we could afford to pay the thousands of dollars for those tests. So He was my only hope. I asked for a miracle. This was a few weeks ago and I put it out of my mind. But today I strongly felt I should call workers comp and I did. I was first amazed because my case worker was actually nice to me. That has NEVER happened before even though I've always been polite and nice to her. When I explained that I wanted to know how to go about asking for an appeal on those bills, she told me they had already paid them!!! They've never changed their minds before. I'm blown away by how our God will help us. Plus, I'd also asked Him to help with my daughters car as they couldn't afford to fix it. It wasn't safe to drive and the mechanic gave an estimate that made it impractical to fix it. Bruce decided he could get the parts and do it himself so it wouldn't cost them anything. I thought that was God's answer and was thrilled. But the day after he got the parts, Jenn called and said it was working fine and hasn't had a problem since! That's the third time He's fixed a car for us. I'm so glad He's my Father! Thank You Lord!

Wow! Thank you Lord Jesus!!!!!! I am sooooo happy for you.
We now have a car that has decided to stop running....Leonard ahead of time. picked Hossanah up from work....she went to get Devon from school and the engine would be running and the car would not go anywhere....she had to keep turning it on and off to get home Sooooo the kids may be home tomorrow and I don't know for how long
of course, now we are not getting that little extra from cleaning the B & B and the rent is raised $200 Soooo we could use some prayers thank you
But your post is a great reminder that God can ( and has in the past) help us....so maybe He will again, if it's His will....

The school shootings senseless and heartbreaking for sure.
Devyn birthday was fun..however.. David got really sick, it hit him during friday night and didn't tell anyone.. he told me his heart was racing so badly he thought he was having a heart attack.. and YET HE DOESNT WAKE ME UP?????? I am so upset with him for that..
He was running such a high fever Saturday, he didn't want to go to urgent care in las vegas.. (his words.. uh.. yuk!) so Devyn grabbed him some theraflu and we gave him that and ibuprofen to bring down the fever and try for him to get comfortable.. we were able to doctor him up enough to get him on the first flight out Sunday. (he covered his mouth & nose on the plane) I got him in to the Urgent care this morning and the doc said he had the flu and was borderline for getting Tamiflu.. she prescribed it anyway.. to me I thought he had more of a bronchitis thing going on.. but she listen to what he had to say and listened to his chest etc..
My lungs are burning.. so I have been taking my nebulizer and steroid inhaler.. if it continues I'll get myself in
He is way worse than I am.. he never gets sick..
His good friend at work had the flu and it went into bronchitis and he has to be careful as he had a heart attack recently..
so.. were home.. Devy had fun that we were there with her.. that's what counted.. we were all there as a family. First time in a long time due to Killian being away.

I'm sorry to hear that Barbara, but if you ask the Lord, maybe He will fix your car too! One time the Lord fixed one of our cars in front of an unbelieving friend. It was hilarious! I was on my way home, (walking) and was praying asking the Lord to fix it for us. Bruce was working on the car with this friend who was also a mechanic. They'd both already determined that it couldn't be fixed, but kept trying to find anything that they may have seen wrong. Just as I got in view of our apartment,he asked Bruce to turn it on, knowing it wouldn't run, but he wanted to see something. So Bruce jumps in, turns it on, and it started right up! You could have knocked that guy down with a feather! He's yelling it's impossible, and Bruce calmly tells him, "not when Cindy prays!" ROFLOL!
I'm sorry to hear you guys have been sick Kel. Please be very careful. We had a 34 year old lady die here because she didn't get to the hospital fast enough. She kept trying to treat herself and when she finally decided to go to the hospital, she died on the way. We've seen many deaths here. It's a terrible outbreak!

Barbra maybe the car has a clogged up fuel filter, anyways when troubleshooting best to check out the cheapest fix first. Our car would not start and we thought it was the starter and we were under that car I think it was five times changing out the starter to a different starter and we put in new wires and it turned out we needed a new battery. We know what the definition of insanity is. lol That is good news of a blessing, Cindy. ewww Kel, the flu, I am glad you and your adult children did not get the flu, that is something to be thankful for. I had the flu once and I thought my grandmother was in the room with me, I felt like I was going to die. It will be nice weather here this week, every day about 70 degrees for a high temp.

Well thank you all so much.... The weird thing is, the engine runs, and will actually go for a few feet ( 30 or 40 ? I am no judge of distance)...the length of the drive way or so.... then it stops...engine still running but it won't move...forward, or backward.
If they turn it off, and start it up it will go a tiny bit again....engine still on, but refuses to move any more.
If that is a transmission problem well we can't really afford to fix it it is a 98 Honda civic....so its kind of old. And we have never had a car that we haven't run into the ground..... sigh but we have many people that depended on Leonard as a taxi...daily....grandchildren, daughter, and a bunch of people without cars around here... not to mention our own needs ( shopping, doc appointments etc.)
So if You get a chance please pray for us.
We may have to walk to the grocery store here (which is spendy.....we usually drive a few towns over to Fred Myers for better prices) then we will have to take a cab home....but its been cold and very very rainy and windy lately sooooo we will maybe wait on that walk for a bit..... and I haven't been feeling real peppy lately
But I have been praying and not worried, sort of waiting to see what the Lord may or may not do..... maybe there is a reason we shouldn't be driving right now?

I love how the Lord shows us that nothing is too small or big for Him. All he wants us to do is ask Him and believe that He will answer.Wow! Thank you Lord Jesus!!!!!! I am sooooo happy for you.

But your post is a great reminder that God can ( and has in the past) help us....so maybe He will again, if it's His will.... Barbara, I'm sorry that you are having financial troubles. My prayers are on their way for you. You mentioned in another post that it's a Honda. OK, we had a situation with our Forenza and it wasn't the transmission. It was an electrical problem, linked to the transmission. The darn thing would not go into gear, even though we put it into gear. The "connection" wasn't happening. They somehow fixed it, at the shop. BTW, this was the day Ed picked it up at the dealer when we bought it. I sure wish I'd known about it, because I would have let them keep it. But, just before we traded it in, it started doing that again. And like yours, it would not move. But, maybe this repair isn't like the cost of transmission work. Maybe a connector fuse or valve. Check online in those mechanic web boards. I've found them very helpful. Wow, Kel, from what I've been hearing about that flu, David is one lucky guy. (although, I don't believe in luck. God's blessings, yes!) And you with your asthma, please be careful and get yourself in, with the slightest of worsening. One of the nurses I met this week had a friend who went in with the flu and died 2 days later.

I understand that frustration, Anna. One time my car quit on me. Had it in the shop with my uncle and he gave it a tune-up, changed the timing chain, and a few other things. He gave up. He really liked my car too, and wanted to buy it from me, so understand his disappointment too. lol Well, I had my brother push me out to my Dad's house, with his car, and then drive me to work. That afternoon, my Dad called and said he'd pick me up at the job. Cool. He came with my car! He was Soooo proud of himself because he one-upped my uncle (who was his BIL). The car was OUT OF GAS! I had a broken gas gauge.Busy day today, I spent all day today in town, shopping and driving, and I put gas in my car twice, the car has a small gas tank. Saying prayers about the car situation that was mentioned. I didn't have a busy day, today. I can't drive anywhere, so I had an excuse to be lazy for a while.

That's so funny about it being out of gas due to a broken gas guage! I'd have died laughing! I hope you're doing well Cheryl. Praying for you and you know you can always call if you want to.
Wow Marlene, you must have gone quite a way to have to get gas twice in one day! Bruce is always teasing the guys at work because he only has to fill our car once a month lol. (but then we live only a couple of minutes away from where he works)

Most of you already know, but to make sure that everyone at Fresh-Hope knows. Our Marianne Sicignano passed away today. She was one of the original members of Fresh-Hope, back when Cindy first opened her web board. Marianne went by the profile name "Hallelujah" for many years. And then changed it to her real name later.
So many here, know Marianne personally or by social media, but many who knew her, loved her dearly. She touched many hearts and souls. I know, beyond a shadow of doubt that our Father welcomed her with open arms and said to her, "Well done, good and faithful servant".
We will miss her, but we also know that she was enduring unbelievable pain. She is at peace now. God has granted her rest.
This is what her son, Nicholas wrote on his FB page. I would like to share it with you now.
Hello, everyone, I am posting this to let you all know my mother passed away this afternoon. I saw her Saturday morning and she managed to implore strength to sit up, look at me, and told me she loves me. I reciprocated her feelings with an embrace and told her I love her too. My brother and I, and our families, are upset about her passing, but we are glad she is no longer in pain. She has suffered a great amount of ailments yet she persisted through it all. Our mother was incredibly stubborn about being idle—she was always mobile up to her passing.
My brother and I were discussing arrangements this morning and she passed this afternoon. We are both still processing the situation and will let those know what the plans of service and remembrance will be in the near future. We thank you and welcome support given through this difficult period of mourning.
I know people would like to convey their condolences and we encourage you to do so. Many of you knew her personally or by social media; you remained within her close circle of friendship. Thank you for manifesting grace, love, and kindness to our mother. We are forever indebted to your altruism.
She told me she saw our dad while I was there; that was truly heartwarming to hear. She will finally walk with him through the field of reeds and forever be in the light of her faith. Her faith was important to her and surrounded herself with those who shared that sentiment. I leave this quote to you all:
“The death of a mother is the first sorrow wept without her.”

Thank you, Cheryl, for the post about Marianne. It's a cold and gloomy day here. It's snowing hard here. I'd better get dressed as they may send people home from work any time now because of it!Amen Cindy, about Marianne. We will be able to talk to Marianne someday.
Cindy, if you are able, would you send me a link so I can read about the reason or importance of anointing something with oil. I can't wait for that day. I had to smile yesterday when I was thinking about her being with our Lord. I could just imagine how she must have been feeling!
Here's a couple of articles about anointing oil for you that I hope will help. There's nothing wrong with anointing someone with oil and praying for them. It only becomes wrong when we're relying on the "oil" or thinking the oil is something special instead of realizing that God will hear our prayers regardless of whether we use oil or not. The reason they anointed people with oil during the times of the Bible is because that was what their "doctors" used to heal people of all kinds of ailments. (just about everything really) So basically the verse that speaks of having the elders pray over the sick person and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord (James 5:14) is saying to pray, and medically treat the person in the Lord's Name. We might say "pray and give them their medicine in the Lord's Name". So anointing them wasn't some kind of magical way to get someone better, it was a treatment that they hoped would help, but their faith was in the Lord, not the oil, not the treatment and not in themselves. See what I mean? Sadly today, many people use oil as though it's something magical that will make the Lord do what they want. (lol, I just decided to post this to that article!)

When I was cleaning my daughters house, I had a very strong prayerful moment and pulled down the olive oil and asked the Lord for direction. I went around the house, just as I did my own many years ago, and let the Lord guide me. It was such a strong presence of just me and God. I love that feeling. I just want my daughter to be safe and know she is loved.

I saw that Sydna was in chat yesterday, right before I got there, I was left to talk to Jeff the intellectual, that is funny because everyone loves him but he contently chats away about things no one understands, so even so, it is enjoyable. Sydna the single woman that lost her home and had to move wrote that the Lord has been talking to her and she seems at peace about that. She said something like that the Lord told her not to think about her poverty but to think about the Lord's riches in heaven. I have heard that 4,000 people a week are now dying from the flu, and with this flu strain, a person could get it two or three times. I also heard that worrying depletes 20% of a person's white blood cells and that smokers lose vitamin B, so they should take a vitamin B supplement.

Wow! Anna seriously 4000 a week now!!! I am beginning to be glad I did not get the flu shot this year.
I agree we should not think much about the things of this world....we need food and clothing but really...our riches are in Heaven.

I never get the flu shot, this is the first flu I've had since a kid. my doctor, when i was a child told me there were so many strains.. that even flu shots don't cover all of them. I just always wondered why i would inject the flu strain into my system? its like they wanna give you a shot for everything. David never gets sick, so we have just been hit with a second round of something. his throat is so sore he can't talk.. he will go in to check to see if its strep

Well, I've always known that one day, we would be faced with germ warfare. I don't know where my thinking started, but have never shaken it.
So, when they started giving people that flu shot, I said "Oh, NO WAY!". And have never had it. It was bad enough that we had to have the measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations, when we were young, and then got it all anyway, then what's it all for? And because we had chicken pox, we are at risk to have shingles now. So, the thought of having the bacteria literally injected into us is just beyond my comprehension. And I do believe that they have caused this outbreak. Yes I do. Call me a conspiracy theorist, if you want to. I won't change my mind. And then I read an article today, that the human body can morph a vaccine and create a whole new strain, and they are saying that this is what has happened.
