quiet morning, birds a chirping, Kalle the kitty next door asking to go in....and it's Thursday! one more day to a long weekend! this is the song I woke up with in my brain...
At the cross, at the cross I surrender my life I'm in awe of You I'm in awe of You Where Your love ran red And my sin washed white I owe all to You I owe all to You, Jesus

That's a pretty song, Lulu.
Well hello friends. I was two pages behind here in chat.
Everybody is keeping busy. Especially glad to hear that Bruce is coming along with his recovery and doesn't need any pain meds.
I'll update on things here in SC. My quiet, empty nest is currently full and LOUD because both boys are home for the summer.
Daniel turned 19 this month and, the same day, finished his first year of college & moved back home. He is going on a mission trip to Alaska this summer with a small group from "Cru" (Campus Crusade for Christ), that is, IF he can finish raising the funds for it. Of course I wasn't over-the-top thrilled for him to be going such a long way away, but TRY to always keep in mind what Lulu said she does, which is to tell her kids, "Go out there and have an adventure" -- while at the same time remembering Cindy's advice to "take every thought captive" (in other words, don't worry!).
Timothy, who is 24 now, moved back home about a month ago and will probably be here until the fall. We love having him around! You might recall that I've always had a fear of dogs, except for our sweet & gentle collie, Thunder, who we lost last summer. Well, Timothy had gotten, of all things, a pit bull puppy named "Na'La" so we had said that Timothy could come home, but we really didn't want another dog (Na'La was staying temporarily with Tim's friend) and besides, pit bulls scared me! So Tim moved back and the next day he brought Na'La over "just for an afternoon visit" and guess what, she never left.
Fast forward a few weeks and Na'La and I are now the best of friends. Well, I still don't like the messes that a dog makes (pet hair, dirty paws, and slinging water all over the place), but she is the most lovable girl and now I understand why people have this breed. Of course, she did chew up a brand new pair of my shoes... and Daniel's good running shoes...
But Timothy paid for the damages.
John's doing pretty well - still working and traveling a lot. He goes for another infusion next week and things seem to be stable so that is a praise.
I've been working at the optometrist's office for 3 months now and still really enjoy it. I LOVE meeting all the people who come in to get eye exams and try to make everyone feel at ease and welcomed.
Well that's about it for the moment; better get up and get ready for bed before I fall asleep here in my seat!
Talk to you all later.

I was just thinking this morning how I wish the rapture would come any day now and soon!
I put some birdseed on the ground this morning for the small birds but lately, it has been the quail and a chipmunk that has been eating the birdseed. I watched the birds this morning while resting and working. I have to fill in a deep hole the dogs dug and also remove some weeds. So after watching the cute chipmunk and finished the work, for now, I came indoors and Ron said something to me and he laughed and I thought to myself, " He looks just like that chipmunk." I guess because he has a full beard. Ron is on day two with no sleep, I wonder what is wrong with him and when he is going to sleep. I'm ready for the rapture now too! I hope Ron's able to sleep tonight at least!Attended a school orchestra concert last night because our son's boy was playing in it. They have a concert in December and another in May. Just catching up with stuff today. Hugs to all.
It's nice that you're able to go to all of them.
My daughter Jenn is taking me shopping today and I've got to figure out what I'm going to do about Bruce's leg being so swollen.....

Another Friday, so soon, time flies. Have fun painting, that sounds like fun, Lulu I wonder what LA girl seven of nine is doing. Leigh, good to read about what you have been doing and the blessing that you have. Cindy, Ron was going into his second night without sleeping and I was concerned, so I told him to go to bed, he told me to leave him alone, well that did it, I told him now I am feeling angry and I am going to sit beside you and nag at you until you go to bed, that worked, he went to bed and fell asleep. It is good you are going to get your shopping done and can be with your daughter shopping. Barbra those caramel or mocha frappes have doubled in price, now one cost 1.75 a bottle for the clover valley brand, at Dollar General, we don't have Family Tree around here, never saw one of those stores. If I buy Starbuck brand one bottle is 3.75, if I bought 2 bottles then 3.50 a bottle. I am going to look on-line to see if I can make my own coffee frappe. I would be nice to be able to afford to buy the frappe, but I can only afford to buy two a month. There is artificial flavoring in the store-bought ones, but it will be interesting to try and see how it turns out. I have saved the bottles from the store bought ones. I will have to buy some caramel. Margie, hugs to you, you are always keeping busy and having fun. Hi Cheryl

So Hossanah ( daughter) finally finished up her training YEAH!!! She is home Our car is still dead but we are slowly figuring it out.
It is soooo nice having Hossanah back.
Of course that does not mean I am all done, rather this summer will be even more most likely.....
Will go to trial forum next Cheryl.
Then to Bible study.

Just so you all don't worry, I have been pretty tired lately and because I will most likely be cleaning daughters house and watching grandson, this summer.....
I am going to take at least a 3 mts vacation from Chat.
I've been making mistakes like posting my Bible study here in chat ( probably how I ended up doing that.....I was prob on chat and going to go to Bible study...fell asleep and thought I had in fact gone to Bible study and started posing) and so on.
I am often falling asleep while posting lately ( something I have not done in a loooong time)
but then I am not used to full day working, and have had to up my pain meds which might be contributing to the exhaustion and/or confusion.
I do not wish to continue to be making such errors and prob won't have much time anyway.
I will continue with the Bible study however come rain or shine....if I post the Bible study here again someone alert me LOL
But don't worry....if something 'special' good or bad , comes up , I will either post in prayer or even a short update here.
But I need to take a summer break....unless the grandchildren go to their dad's for the summer but so far that does not seem to be the case.
I may be able to read your posts,
but know I love you all and will be praying for you all of course.

Cheryl complied with your request. I will miss you in chat Barbra, but I understand. It is that time of year again, for 3 months of hot temperatures, though it is nice to be outdoors at sunset.

I asked Hossanah IF it seemed likely that the grandchildren's dad will have them for the summer ???? and she said probably not.
The other thing I am wondering about is her fiancee's 2 youngest who are also living with them. They often spend a LOT of time at the uncle's.....but he has already lost one foot to diabetes, and has been having a LOT of infections and problems with the other foot.....a LOT sooooo
IF.....
He might have to have surgery of the other foot....
I wonder if that will mean I will be taking care of them this summer....also
They are lovable children, but quite different than grandchildren. They have energy that could run the state.....they RUN everywhere and are so close they fight a LOT with each other etc.
I know, don't worry about the future and one day at a time.
But wow.....if that should happen ( prayerfully not) I am not sure I could handle it I am not sure I can deal with it as it stands...as manager, Hossanah has LONGER hours..... So that is an all day affair, until 5:30 or longer each night!! Summer will be super busy for both her and fiancee meaning long hours for both meaning....long hours for me.
So Yeah....I don't think, I can be here much this summer, but I will not stop bible study no matter what. Tho Cindy may be reading some weird Bible study posts from me LOL
I will try to read at least on days off.....assuming.... I get 2 days off LOL and will be praying for you all.

It was so good to hear from you Lorrie! I've missed seeing you!
Sorry I haven't been here either. It's been crazy here still, taking care of Bruce, and all the doctor appointments etc. We have more of them this week, plus trips to the pharmacy which seems constant at times. Jenn celebrated her 36th birthday yesterday. I can't believe my youngest is that old LOL. We gave her a Scofield Study Bible. It's hard on the kids as they're used to being able to do stuff with their Grandpa and now, can hardly touch him. I'm already running behind. I've got to find a dead mouse that's somewhere in the kitchen... yuck!

I meant to tell you that I was glad you have work to keep you busy at work. That always makes the day go faster.
I've been enjoying watching the birds and critters in the yard lately too. The other day when the kids were here, we were all watching them. It's nice because they're all so used to seeing me and hearing me talk to them that it doesn't bother them to see movement on the porch or hear people talking. We all got a good laugh because of one of the 3 crows that hangs around here. He came down to the ground as usual to check out the food supply. All the other birds and critters are used to him and he doesn't bother them at all, so they all just kept eating. But I could tell that he was up to something so pointed him out to Jenn. We watched as he kind of snuck around the food and kept looking in the tray as well as that which was on the ground. Jenn had bought a treat of squirrel food for the critters which is what was in the tray feeder on the ground, and it had a few large peanuts in it. Well the crow kept looking and looking, and then suddenly, snatched a big peanut in his beak and immediately took flight, like he was getting away with a great prize! I thought we'd all die laughing at him! He looked so funny flying off with that peanut sticking out of his beak! I guess he was just in a playful mood as he normally just sits and eats with the rest of the gang. It's interesting watching the tiny chickadees along with other different birds all eating together with the crows and all the squirrels and chipmunks. Of course Gracie's named just about all of them so it's fun too listening to her call them each by name and talk to them.

I never had to nurse a stroke victim. Cindy worked in a nursing home so she probably took care of stroke victims. I am sorry for the sorrow you are going through, it is hard to deal with the illness of a parent. My parents died quickly, however, during the 6 weeks my mother lived in hospice I had tears flowing steadily out of the outside of my eyes after she died it took time for me to heal back to feeling normal.

I have never had to nurse a stroke victim. The Lord spared me having to see that in Ed. Toward the end, though, he wasn't getting enough oxygen to his brain, so he was seeing things that were not there....buffalo running all over the walls, a cow outside a 7th story room window, and a sparrow was flying over my head. He got mad at me because I wouldn't turn around and see the cow, lol. By the time he told me to watch out for the sparrow, I was finally getting it. I ducked and asked him if I was out of its way. Ed smiled and nodded. That's all he needed. So, if your Dad is having any of that, just let him have it. You will smile later, knowing that you did. And all the other things that go along with care giving. Give that to him too. Give 'til it hurts, is a saying that comes so true at a time like this. Like I said before.......you will be glad that you did. Just take my word for that. ((hugs)) Steve. And my prayer is already on its way up for you.

Steve, prayers going up for you, your dad, & family. I have never had to take care of a stroke victim either. only have listened to others and their story's. Heart Attack victims are hard, but at least there's healing from them, well, in Ron's case there was...twice now..but there will come a time......

Hi, i thought id drop in here and say hi. Thanks everyone for your prayers for my Dad. Its tough seeing him after stroke number 3 mess his head up. Anyone else had to nurse a stroke victim? Hi Steve! It's good to see you, but I'm sorry about your Dad. Yes, I've taken care of several people who had strokes. It's hard to watch them suffer, especially when they know what they want to say, but can't make the words come out right. Thankfully, for some of them anyway, that can be overcome in time with therapy. For me though, that was the hardest part. The inability to use one side of their body, like their right arm or leg, was easier to deal with, as that too can be overcome at least to some degree with time and therapy. When a person has had numerous strokes like your Dad though, the hardest part for him may be keeping a positive outlook and believing that he will be able to speak clearly again, and/or use his limbs again, etc. Sadly, they often give up at that point and feel like it's pointless to keep trying. Plus, unfortunately with more of their brain damaged by each stroke, it's harder and takes longer to get positive results, and often those results aren't as great as they would have been after the first stroke. A lot depends on what kind of stroke he had each time too. Another problem they often experience is the inability to remember things, both things from their past as well as the present. Obviously, this can be very upsetting to them too. Some are unable to take care of their daily physical needs after a stroke. For some, they eventually regain the ability to do those things, but others don't. Again, it depends on the type of stroke they had. The worst part is the emotional toll it causes for them as well as for their loved ones. The more they're able to say and do for themselves, the better off they are emotionally. I would always try to watch them carefully to see what things I might be able to help them learn to do for themselves with as little effort as possible, and I'd do those things first as success always improves their outlook. I'd always caution them to be patient, especially with their speaking, as the more frustrated they get with it, the worse it gets. In some ways I think it's harder on the men, because they're often unable to just have themselves a good cry in the beginning which is always a good release, unless they continue and then it results in self pity which isn't good. As the caretaker, we have to understand that their anger isn't at us, it's at what's happened/happening to them. We have to remain positive and upbeat no matter what and always seek to help them become as self sufficient as possible, while at the same time letting them know that we love to be able to return the favor of caring for them while they need it, as they cared for their family. If there's anything I can help you with, I'd be happy to try. I hope some of this will be helpful for you. I never had to nurse a stroke victim. Cindy worked in a nursing home so she probably took care of stroke victims. I am sorry for the sorrow you are going through, it is hard to deal with the illness of a parent. My parents died quickly, however, during the 6 weeks my mother lived in hospice I had tears flowing steadily out of the outside of my eyes after she died it took time for me to heal back to feeling normal. yes, I think it's always hardest to deal with a parents illness or disability, because we've always looked to them for strength. My neighbors mother is getting senile since her husband died a few months ago. Ever since that day my neighbor as been living with her mother so she can care for her in her own home until she dies. Meanwhile, we keep an eye on her house for her. It's such a blessing to see her take such good care of her mother. Hi, i thought id drop in here and say hi. Attachment Deleted That’s my prayer also Cindy! Praying is a challenge these days....so much to pray about, things happening so fast...close to home and world wide.....I was crying to the Lord yesterday, that all we/I have IS prayer! For the Holy Spirit to speak for me when I’m overwhelmed.....which is a lot of the time lately.
Hey, our Jazzy is 12 today! 12? When do that happen? We are having a birthday 🎁 Party 🎉 at a place called Boomers....it’s like a fun park, water, go carts, golf ⛳️ she doesn’t know.... i will probably post a video on face book....
But we do need prayer that the day IS a fun day, there is some unnecessary family dysfunction happening between our Netty and my future daughter in law, Jess....totally unnecessary drama 🤨 this day is about Jazzy NOT Netty or Jess....so please pray for a beautiful day and peace between two old friends! wow, another 12 year old! I keep forgetting that Jazzy is just 6 months younger than Elijah. I sure hope your day went well. I'm sorry I didn't see this before now, and sorry to hear that Netty and Jess are having a problem. I somehow missed that Matt was engaged to marry Jess though! That's wonderful! When's the big day? I hope the weather was good for your party too!

the party was wicked fun, posted a video and pic's on facebook. wish I could here, but I have to figure out how to down size my pictures from my phone and IPad! I think there's a way to do it, but haven't taken the time to figure it out yet....Netty and Justin over slept, they both work nites, so their hours are backwards from the rest of us...but they did get there to give Jazzy her presents, then stopped over here. So Ya, it was a nice day and fun...
then today at church we had breakfast and a soft ball game with the Regional Special Olympics Soft ball team who are on their way to the world championships! they won, 7 to 5! so it was a good game! that was BEFORE church! post a video and pics on facebook of that also! so it's been a great weekend!
Cindy, yes Matt and Jess are getting Married on Ron's and mine Anniversary! June 30th, So we are redoing our vows on the same day! 35 years! the kids picked out a place on the ocean for a sunset wedding, Family only...and the reception will be at Church for Desserts! Jess and I just got done talking with a young lady from church that does catering for weddings, she does cakes and desserts! that will be for friends and family after the vows ceremony. So just small and simple.... I've know Elaina for years, I'm wicked happy she's catering for us! she just started up this business so it will get the word out and people will see how well she does!
