Barbra, I also follow the news about the earth facing solar flares. I went shopping today and bought all the new winter clothes I will need, two shirts, 1 leggings, one pair of jeans, and a sweater and then I still have my clothes from last year, so I can forget about buying clothes for awhile. I am staying away from my chat site for a few days, never mind why. ha ha it is not that bad, I just said something and it happened to be the teacher's pet peeve and I knew it, wished there was a delete button to push, then hoped he was not at chat, which he was at chat, next thing I know I am feeling like a spot light is shined on me as he gave a lengthy opinion about what I said. I am laughing about it now, a day later it seems funny to me.

Cindy, hope you start feeling better.
My hubby went to an out-of-town football game with his buddies. They'll be back tomorrow. I went to my son's house yesterday morning and returned today. Had a good visit with them.
It's still nice weather here. Hope everyone has a good week.

Thanks Margie. I have to go get a bunch of tests done this morning - Jenn's taking me, so I have to hurry so I can be ready when she gets here. God willing, I'll be here tomorrow though. I'm glad you were able to visit with your son. It's neat that you're able to even spend the night there. The weather's been nice here lately too, but it's supposed to get hot again for a few days starting tomorrow. Hopefully after that it'll stay cool and we can wean Angel off the prednisone for the winter.

Cheryl we live right on the ocean, so the fires are rather far from us, but twice this year ( the fires in Canada and the ones now) have somewhat affected the way the sun looks etc.
Almost always, the wind coming off the ocean blows everything inland so we don't suffer the bad air like Kel.
Well it seems like end time events are getting stronger and closer, what with fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, solar flares and CME's, etc. Of course we have always had these, but we are now getting so many ( all over the world) and they are often record breaking, coming one right after another. It is both bad news and potentially good news soon....every day is a day closer to the rapture, in any case.

Everyone. Not much going on around here, but that's a good thing, compared to our southern states. Lorrie, I'm so happy to know that you and your family are alright. How about your Mom? Was she OK, also? I'm glad that you were able to help out John's family. Sounds like, if they have the authorities blocking their community, then they had quite a bit of damage? I sure hope not.
Anna, sounds like you're all set for the winter, with your nice new clothes!
Barbara, I'm so glad that you are spared the fires, and the smoke from them.
Cindy, I hope all the tests turn out in your favor. What kinds of tests are they?
Margie, our weather has turned real cool, since Irma made land fall. We got a cold rain last night and part of this morning. It's 67, right now, and expected to be in the low 60's all day tomorrow. It'll start warming back up on Thursday.

It is still warm here this afternoon, I just finished listening to a Bible study and was keeping my hair wet so I could stay cool in this west facing bedroom. Last night Ron found a scorpion in the bathtub. ick, I could not get to sleep for awhile after that. I bought a bottle of Starbuck mocha expresso cold coffee, yum that is good and also good added to my usual smoothie. Ron tasted it and did not like it, I could have chased him around the house with that cup of cold espresso coffee and he would have run away. lol

Tell Ron that I said he has good taste for not liking Starbuck's coffee. That stuff is nasty. There is nothing fresh about it, and it's very bitter. I'm glad I don't give them my money, though, because to protest President Trump's immigration proposal, they hired 10,000 muslims in their stores. And now they are having several locations, sited with e-coli bacteria in their products.

Thanks for your prayers everyone. Yesterday was a tough day. I woke up at 2am in a lot of pain. I guess because of the xrays and the way they had to position me on the table. I couldn't go back to sleep because of the pain and wasn't up to doing anything at all that day, didn't even get dressed. I slept well last night though so I'm doing better now.
I'm glad to hear you're all safe and well Lorrie, as are the rest of your family.
Marlene, I thought that was so funny about you chasing Ron around the house with your coffee LOL. I could just imagine it happening!
I'm off to the bible study thread. I hope everyone has a great day today!

Yeah about the Starbuck coffee, I agree with you, I am not going to buy it anymore. Funny you should mention running away from the home. I have to live here since I have nowhere else to live, but I spend time thinking about what I should do about living in this old mobile home because it is too old and is in bad shape. I have a shed that is nicer than my home and I am thinking about moving into it and about how long I can live in this mobile home until I have to move out of it.

Cindy, it's been a long time since they twisted me up, like a pretzel, for ex-rays, but it's just something you never forget. I'm sorry they had to do that to you, but glad that you are starting to feel a little bit better, and got some sleep.Anna, don't take this the wrong way, but if I found a scorpion in my bathtub, I'd run away from home, never to return! It would be really awesome if you could somehow replace your home with a newer mobile home. I often think about that, here too. But, with what we spent to fix it up, we could have just bought a new one and replaced it. But, then I wouldn't have what Ed built. So, I'm good with this old house.

It's a shame you guys can't build a small home on your property Marlene. I get a kick out of it sometimes when I think about how so many of us live in homes that aren't up to standard, and yet we have a homes that are far better than the most expensive homes on the earth which we will live in for eternity. When I think of that, it makes me feel that I can put up with things here as they aren't permanent and I have so much better waiting for me! Thanks for your prayers everyone. I hope everyone's having a great day today. I came across something I'd written in my notes when I was studying Philippians 1:12–14 today that was a great reminder and comfort to me. Maybe it will be an encouragement to others too:
"Don't forget that being disabled is merely part of the role you're called to as an ambassador for God’s kingdom. Others should see an attitude of joy and God's message of Truth deeply implanted within you, coloring everything you think, do, and say. Remember that Ezekiel was also home bound for much of his service, although he wasn't disabled, it was what God called him to do. His time is much like ours, so it's not surprising that God would call the home bound today as well. See Ezekiel 3:24."
MacArthur says about Ezekiel: "He was to fulfill much of his ministry at home (Ezekiel 8:1; Ezekiel 12:1–7), thereby limiting it to those who came to hear him there."

Well, Yesterday was quite different. I was working on the bible study thread when all of a sudden I heard the door close and heard someone calling my name. It was Bruce and he was home from work! I asked what was wrong, and he then reminded me that we had a funeral to go to! I'd forgotten all about it. Mostly because I kept thinking it was Wednesday, not Thursday! So I hurried and changed clothes and then we went to the funeral. Afterward, when we got home, I did a few chores and then figured I'd spend a few minutes with Bruce before I got busy again. I wound up spending the whole rest of the day with him and not doing any more of the chores for that day. It was really nice though and I enjoyed it. He's back to work as usual today though, so I need to get caught up on all my work. I hope everyone has a great day today!

After working for many years I now always put fun before work. I was just talking to the Lord this morning and remembering about how when I finally had a job that I was making some money at, that I remembered that I suddenly knew I was starting to go so to speak, one step forward and two steps back, that is when I knew the Lord was going to make a change in my life. I had been thinking about how dirty my home was and needs more cleaning and now I am starting to think so what it is dirty. If I could keep it clean I would but I don't have enough energy to keep doing that much cleaning. I always just worked because I had to, but remembered how my grandmother worked when she did not need to work and when she was old she said she wished she would have stayed home and spent time with her children instead of working.

Hi all,
Well we pretty much got moved in, just got a few odds and ends to figure out what to do with them. Its been a busy week. I think I told you all Chelsea is going through the process of becoming a foster mother with the intent to adopt a child. Well because we intend to be involved with our grandchild, babysitting and whatnot, that they wanted us to get certified in CPR and get fingerprinted for a background check. We took the CPR class Tuesday after work and did the finger prints yesterday. Supposedly we'll get our certification cards sometime next week. The class took 4 1/2 hours I was really nervous about doing it but it turned out to be very interesting and kind of fun. The instructor had a great sense of humor, it was a small class only 8 of us, and I was the only who hadn't been certified before but even so I still knew most of it anyway.
Chelsea went out of town about 40 miles from Pueblo to take a parenting class through the foster care system. She should be home tomorrow.
Got a funny story to tell you all. Chelsea is the volleyball coach for the middle school girls where she teaches. They had a meet at the school where we live so Stan and I decided to go. There was 3 schools meeting for matches there. We get there and enter the gym to watch the game and its the home school team playing against the other school. We sit and watch the game figuring Chelsea's team will be playing after these two teams are done with their best 2 out of three match. While we are sitting there 3 girls from Chelsea's school come in. Stan asks them "Do you know where Chelsea is?" I interrupt and say "No not Chelsea! Miss Allaart!" He laughs and says "She's Chelsea to me." I reply "Well not to them!" The girls are laughing at us but they point out the door and say "she's over there." So we assume she's going to come in soon with the girls. About 15 20 minutes later she comes in and come to find out the one school has so many girls that they have two 8th grade teams and 2 7th grade teams and they were in the other gym (we didn't even know the school had two gyms} playing their games and they were all done! We were in the wrong gym watching the wrong match! lol We had a good time anyway and the match was a good one but still we would have liked to have watched Chelsea's girls!

Haven't felt very good all week, so I'm just taking it easy. I got chilled when I was at my son's house, and also saw in the newspaper that levels of ragweed pollen are really high. So maybe it's a combination of those things.
I'm just reading and working crossword puzzles and drinking lots of water. Hubby told me that yesterday he watched 12 hours of football - Good Grief!!

I'm curious about what you said about being involved with your grandchild....are you saying that if you didn't take those classes you couldn't be involved with them? That really surprises me as we weren't asked or told to do anything in order to be involved with our adopted grandchild... I guess it must be a state thing then.. Haven't felt very good all week, so I'm just taking it easy. I got chilled when I was at my son's house, and also saw in the newspaper that levels of ragweed pollen are really high. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, but I'm glad you're able to just take it easy and relax until you feel better. Hope you start feeling better very soon!
We had our usual weekend. Saturday the kids were here and spent the day with us and Sunday we had to do the shopping. It was really hot out both days, so the kids spent some time playing in the sprinkler and then came inside and played for the rest of the time. Bruce made Pizza for supper for everyone which they all enjoyed. I love the days we get to spend with them!

Hi all, I like football as much as the next person (watching it right now as a matter of fact LOL) but 12 hours straight is to much even for me. Cindy, Chelsea talked to the lady running the parenting class and she said that it sounds like Chelsea's caseworker is making Stan and I Chelsea's respite care. Meaning that we could take care of the child to give Chelsea a break or if Chelsea couldn't take care of him or her for a few days or weeks due to illness or something. That way the child will be with familiar people that have already been approved and not have to go to a completely different foster home. This is especially important due to Chelsea being a single parent and the child being in foster care till if/when the adoption goes through. Also it allows Chelsea to tell us the childs background otherwise we wouldn't be allowed to know for the childs privacy and protection. She can't even introduce them as her foster child she has to say they are her child only. Obviously close family will know its a foster child because that can't be helped, but generally people aren't to be told.

We had to do that with Maddie too before her adoption. Sorry, I wasn't thinking straight. After all my daughter went through adopting Maddie, I really feel like the system is really messed up. It's almost like they don't want the kids to get adopted and do all they can to prevent it, even though they say they do want them adopted. It's just a mess. But it's what has to be dealt with if you adopt.
We've got two new bird feeders now, and I love them! More importantly, so do the birds, squirrels and chipmunks LOL I got one specifically for the little critters. It actually sits on the ground although it can be put on a poll or hung on a tree or even set up as a bird bath. The chipmunks especially love it though. They ran to it as soon as I put it out LOL. I had a great time watching them pig out in it! Then we got another for the birds. It looks like this:
One thing that was neat about it is that on the way to the store I asked the Lord if it was in His Will if He could get us a good one that was on sale. Well, when we saw it, it wasn't on sale but when we took it to the register, they took $4 off the price for us without us asking! God is so very good to us, isn't He? I loved our old one, but it was just plain worn out, so we really had to get a new one. I wanted to get another like the one we had, but it's just so expensive that I couldn't make myself buy it, but when we saw this one, we thought the birds would like it just as well, especially since the critters have their own now.

I like the bird feeder, Cindy. I don't have a bird feeder, I need to get one, I have just been putting bird seed on a flat plate. This morning I looked out my window and I saw a hummingbird, wow, that is unusual for me to see one of those birds. I think it was a blessing from the Lord that I was able to see that bird. I don't have chipmunks or squirrels around here so I can't put down ground food unless I want to watch a packrat eat. , so I will avoid that. Enjoy watching the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, maybe sometimes take a picture. Maybe you will be getting a lot of rain soon there where you live, from that hurricane. My what storms in the ocean this month. We need to buy a new bathroom sink today, we have a bucket under the sink now until we get a new one.

I'd think you'd be tired of all the pictures I posted of the critters and birds on our old board lol. That's really neat that you got to see a humming bird though. Yeah, it's raining today and supposed to rain tomorrow too. Oh dear, I hope you were able to get the new sink and have it all installed already. My kitchen sink is leaking again and I'm waiting for Bruce to fix it.
I hope everyone has a great day in the Lord today!

Well, Cindy maybe you have some new little neighbors that we have not met yet. lol In that case pictures are needed.
We ordered a new sink and will be delivered, I hope it does not arrive broken. Ron did not want to drive to get one because of his allergies and drowsiness. We have gained a new Dollar General store in town and at the same time the only gas station in town shut down, without notice, a truck even came and took out the gasoline in the tanks for the gas pumps. Dollar General has Christmas stuff out now, both sides of the short aisle. Of course, you wonder if I bought anything from the aisle, well yes I did. lol Some of the stuff is cute and cheap.

I'll try and remember to take some pictures for you all. I love our dollar general store! I got some great stuff for the kids Christmas stockings from there last year and hope to this year as well. Between that and our "Green Center" where everything is free, they're my major shopping centers lol
That's too bad about your gas station. We only have one too, and it was closed for most of this year as they were remodeling it and putting in new pumps and stuff. We were all so glad when they finally re-opened! I hope someone opens a new gas station near you. Maybe someone will buy the old one and re-do it like ours was. Maybe they closed because they couldn't come up with the money to overhaul their tanks and all. Bruce told me that they're required to do that at times to meet new federal laws and I guess some new ones have been passed lately. But I have no idea what they were or if they affect every state or not, although being federal I would think so....
Those storms have made everyone very sore and achy here. I'll sure be glad when they're gone!

In all the years I lived in Tucson, I never heard anything like that! I'd have moved the day I saw the first one; no way I'd have stayed there! I saw scorpions outside, and my mom saw one in her house once I think, but that's all. They're nasty! At least I think so and one of the things in God's creation that I want nothing to do with lol. I'm sure glad they didn't get stung! I just can't even imagine going to sleep knowing there could be one in the house though!
Nothing much has happened here. The only big thing is that Hulu (one of the channels we get on Roku) changed their format and we hate it, plus it now has lots of bugs so isn't working right. There are literally thousands of complaints on their sight about it with people saying they're going to cancel their subscription but so far they're not doing much about it. So today I'm going to look for a different channel for us to subscribe to. It's a shame though, because it used to be one of the best channels of all of them.
