Wow, I just went back to the main menu, to see if there was a new chat thread, or the Rapture happened, and everyone left me behind! Well....that would be no laughing matter, but I love reading everyone's posts and none, since Cindy replied to everyone on Wednesday. Is that a record? LOL
Anyway, just popping in to say hello, and hope everyone is doing well. I pray for everyone, every day.
Ruthanne is doing a little better, with her apartment, but she's still not able to move back into it, yet. Please continue to keep her in your prayers for some more issues that she needs to resolve with the Housing Commission. And also, yesterday, was her one year without Larry, and she's handling it, but it's a process. Too much stress for her, right now, dealing with so much at one time. But, she has her family, who are very supportive and love having her there, and that does help.
I actually got some of my yard mowed, a few days ago, but I got rained out. I had a couple more strips to do on 1/2 of the front yard, and felt the raindrops, so I ignored it, trying to at least finish that... My hips and legs felt like they were going fail on me, the pain was so intense, but, I was considering going ahead and doing the next section, but the Lord said NO..... ~crack, flash~ goes the lightning. I said, "OK, Lord, I will put it away!" No sooner had I gotten the rider put away and locked up, it started raining a bit heavier. By the time I wobbled into the house and got my shoes off, it was a monsoon! Wow, that wind was fierce! And then it didn't last very long, at all, and the sun came back out with a vengeance. And with everything soaking wet, there was no way I could finish mowing and its been hot, HOT ever since. So, needless to say.....no more mowing has been done. Maybe tomorrow, I hope...
I read your post on facebook bout that and loved how you told it...about the lightening and all lol. I hope you're able to get the yard back to how you want it soon. I had to babysit Friday and the kids helped me work in the garden all day long. We got a whole lot done too!The month of August has gone by so fast, hopefully, it will be cooler soon. I have been able to go outside early in the morning and do some yard work removing some weeds, I am waiting to mow and that will be on a cloudy day. I used to like being outdoors in the sun but now I try to avoid the sun, it seems to have a different effect on me now than it used to. I was outside early this morning bird watching and I enjoyed that, I also picked a wild flower and looking at it and thought about how God cared to put such detail in nature. I think about the rapture often and we talk about it often. I have been watching the news about hurricane Harvey, wow, I know how they feel in that area, it brings back memories of when I had to deal with hurricane Andrew. tt ya all l. lol I love talking about God and His Word and everything about Him, including the rapture. I had to babysit Friday, which is why I wasn't here. Gracie brought her Bible as she wanted me to explain some things and wanted to know how to pronounce a name in Genesis that she'd read a while ago. Then we had a talk all about Babylon which was really fun. On Saturday we went to a local kind of thrift store where everything is free and got the game Bible Challenge, which is a take off of The Great American Bible Challenge Game Show that was on TV. The only problem is that the instructions weren't in it and I can't find them anywhere on line. I sure hope I can find someone who has the game that would be willing to copy their instructions for me so we can play it. I too have been keeping an eye on Harvey. Our son, daughter in law and 3rd grandchild Liam, live in Austin.....I am thinking it won't be too bad for them, but I don't know for sure.
Our poor daughter and her fiancee took off in a car packed with camping gear, 3 teen girls ( our granddaughter Vanessa and 2 of her friends), and Devon) to go on their last camping trip before school starts......very crowded car!!!
Only......they got lost, could never find the camping ground and had to come back ( about 11 last night).
We felt bad for them, but in a certain way were a little relieved. Leonard had just saw a video on black bears getting bolder and bolder ( the bears are looking for the garbage at beaches and campgrounds) .
In fact, Leonard took a guy ( yesterday) to a lake about 5 miles away, and the woman forest ranger warned them to be extra careful, because of black bears and coyotes have been following people on the trails around the lake!!!
And we are not in the forest like Hossanah etal were going to!!! Yeah, as I recall they've had the same problem in Maine. It happens here most every year around this time, because people put out food for the bears. You'd think that the people would finally get it that if they continue to do that that the bears are going to wind up getting shot by the rangers because they become a menace to people. People can be so dumb at times. I'm glad they're all safe at home though, but sorry they didn't get their camping trip in. I've been following the hurricane story too because my sister lives in Round Rock. Today is cooler and we had rain so I guess it's the effects of the storm too. I read a really good book: The Man Who Invented Christmas by Les Standiford. It's about Charles Dickens and how he came to write A Christmas Carol. Did laundry today - whoopee! What an exciting way to spend a rainy Saturday. Hugs to all. That sounds like an interesting story Margie. I've read some good books lately too that I've really enjoyed. Had a very busy long weekend too so today I'm resting lolWell, maybe this fall when the weather is nice and cool your son and family and friends will be able to go to the campsite again and enjoy themselves. I would be concerned about bears and also it is so dark outside some nights. One night I was outside with my black dog on a dark night and she was sitting right next to me and I could not see her at all, that surprised me.
I think it is cool that I get to chat with a truck driver woman. I don't think I would have been tough enough to survive being a truck driver woman. I was working at a factory in Omaha at night about the time you were truck driving, ten hours at night on a production line, listening to the sound of the clink, clink all night long, making tv dinners. I was concerned if my heart rate would start to match with the clinking sound. I also worked at a Barcotti rum factory production line in Jacksonville, where I had an unexpected emotional breakdown, the production line had to stop, that was embarrassing. My clothes were soaked in rum so maybe I was a little dizzy. lol I tried to work there but I had to quit.
I know what you mean about finding to difficult to breath outdoor during the day in the heat, I am feeling that also. I like what you wrote about Ed and the hummingbirds. How precious hummingbirds! I know the birds can be complainers, there are four birds here that complain at me to get water for them in their birdbath, so I do and then I watch them take a bath in the water. My birds don't fight for jurisdiction, lol, they are patient onlookers, waiting their turn.
Speaking of birds complaining, reminds me of what happened on Friday. I was out working in the garden and it was a beautiful day, and very quiet. Then all of a sudden I heard such a racket of birds squawking, it was incredible! They were so loud I'm sure they could be heard blocks away! It sounded like there was a whole bunch of them in the top of a nearby pine tree, and they seemed to be having a very heated argument LOL. Then, after a good ten minutes, it stopped just as suddenly as it began!
hi all.. i'm off to open the Rec Center.. Lorrie, I just read everything about Thunder. I am so sorry. We talked about it beforehand.. and I know exactly what you and Tim went through.. its tough.. but he was having a lot of issues, so it was the most humane thing to do. You know I have Buck, our sheltie (a little collie.. lolol) and he will be 17 in Feb.. I can tell things are going south, his eye sight is getting worse, so far no accidents but once or twice in the house.. but because I am no longer "really" working, I am home enough between errands etc to come and let him out to potty.. so I think that helps him.. plus I don't sleep more than 5hours.. so.. Fearnot, its been colder where you are? We are still in a heatwave up here.. but you are more near the coast.. but wow, we have been so hot.. for us.. 90's.. Anna, thats why I want to move south, oddly enough, the humidity helps my asthma.. the dry hot heat does not help me at all.. Cheryl, I am trying to get humming birds to come into my yard.. i have a little bird feeder and i do the sugar water myself.. i've seen one or two.. so i am hoping they bring friends... We did that one year as I recall, but there was something wrong with the feeder we bought so never tried again. Bruce brought that up just last night too. Weird how we're all thinking about the hummingbirds at the same time huh?

I get my hummingbird feeders from the store Hossanah is assistant manager at the dollar tree....for a $1.00.....
but I did buy 12 from dollar tree on line for $12.00 for 12.
If you have a dollar tree near you there is no shipping cost, because they will deliver whatever you order directly to the store and you pick it up there.
Because they are always delivering things to the store.....they just put your orders on the truck, so no delivery charge.

Christians are talking about the date of September 23rd, that might be when the rapture happens. It is a popular topic right now being talked about. Some preachers have rushed and put out a video to buy to explain it in detail, others like Robert Braker gives out the info for free, and other pastors just want to avoid the subject and some say what is being said is nonsense. So it is interesting, most people say I sure hope the rapture will be on that date, that is fine with me and that is how I feel about it.

I don't love the cold, but I really can't take the heat. I have always gotten heat headaches, can't sleep in the heat, and get even more tired than normal.....plus I love the ocean...so all in all....no hot weather for me. That is me exactly... sounds like I'm living in the wrong place for sure! It's miserably hot and humid here. I Although, these last several days have been fall-like and it is WONDERFUL. I wondered if we might be feeling the effects of the hurricane all the way to SC, but somebody said there's another storm brewing out in the Atlantic, so that may be the cause of it.
Margie - glad to hear you are safe... I've been thinking about you.
Just finished reading all the posts from the last few days. Thank you all for the love and support in the loss of our sweet Thunder. I'm doing much better now, especially since reading the awesome thread Cindy posted about animals in Heaven -- thank you so much Cindy!
Seems like every time I come in here now I'm asking for prayer for something or another, and today is no different. Would you all mind praying for John? He has to travel SO much for his job (these last 2-1/2 years) and he is exhausted. As you know he takes infusions every 8 weeks for Crohn's and I think a side effect is to feel tired AND for him it causes tremendous joint pain (which is being helped by taking turmeric capsules). When he left this morning he just looked so tired and I worry about him and what the travel and stress is doing to him. It would be a blessing if he could find a position that doesn't require constant travel, so if you would pray with us that something would open, that would be much appreciated. He would love to be able to retire, but still has a few more years before that will be possible.
Meanwhile I'm working SIX days this week for my PART-TIME job. I took the position thinking it would be 2-3 days per week, maybe 4... not 6! I'm thankful for it, though, and enjoy it (mostly), but wow that is a lot of standing in one place. (Sorry for complaining!) All the people I work with are so nice and I'm enjoying getting to know everyone (what little time we have for socializing), and it's been interesting to observe how a warehouse store is run. And of course it's fun giving out samples and chatting with random strangers as they walk by my cart.
Well, need to get myself up and ready to go. Love & hugs for all of you.
ETA: After posting I realized there's a whole new page of posts that I didn't even realize was here but will have to read later.

We got our first chain store in town just this year and it's a Dollar General Store which is similar. Instructions for playing the Bible Challenge Game Thanks Anna, Cheryl posted one too. I'll certainly use these if I have to, but would rather find the written rules so I can copy them and keep them with the game.Christians are talking about the date of September 23rd, that might be when the rapture happens. So it is interesting, most people say I sure hope the rapture will be on that date, that is fine with me and that is how I feel about it. Since the Bible indicates that no one will know the date or time, I don't read stuff like that, so really can't comment on it. The usual scripture people use to show that (Matthew 24:36) is actually speaking about His 2nd coming, not the rapture, however, all scriptures are to be understood in context with the entire Bible. When that is done, we then see that no one will know the date or time of the rapture, the start of the Tribulation, or the Second Coming. Therefore, in my opinion, it's rebelling against God to attempt to find out. Kind of like if I told my children that I didn't want them to know about something, and they went behind my back and attempted to find out anyway. I wouldn't be exactly pleased with them! So that's why I stay away from that kind of stuff. Besides, no one that is talking about it would want to hear me tell them this lol. I don't love the cold, but I really can't take the heat. thank you for posting that comment about feeling the effects of the hurricane! I hadn't even considered that, and have been wondering why my back is hurting so badly lately. I've even been wondering if I was starting the flare up that I generally have mid to late September, early. (which is always possible). It's still possible it's the flare up, but if it's the hurricane or another storm, it will end sooner, so I'll vote for that lol I'm also enjoying the much cooler weather though. I wish every day could be like these last few days!
I'm glad the article helped Lorrie. I'll certainly add that to my prayers for John! Let us know when he gets another position, ok?
That is a lot of work for a part time job. But then you're really working for the Lord and showing all kinds of folks you'd never meet otherwise what it looks like to belong to Jesus!
I hope everyone's doing well and has a great day in the Lord today!

Anna about Sept 23 rd....I don't know if you know about Answers in Genesis.....a boat load of real scientists that are Creationists.....
Anyway,Dr. Danny Faulkner ( Dr. Faulkner was a professor of astronomy and physics for 26 yrs., has published over 100 papers in various journals. )
wrote an article about the 23rd of Sept. and went over all the things that are 'supposed' to be soooooo unique....he went over them step by step and it turns out they are not really so unique at all.
Here is just a tiny sample:
"First, there is nothing particularly unusual about the sun appearing in the constellation Virgo. As we orbit the sun each year, the sun appears to move through the 12 constellations of the zodiac, spending about a month in each one. The month that the sun appears in Virgo is around the time of the autumnal equinox, from mid-September through late October.
Nor is it unusual to find the moon near the feet of Virgo. The moon takes 27 1/3 days to orbit the earth with respect to the stars. Therefore, for a day or two each month, the moon appears near the feet of Virgo..... Therefore, for a day or two each September or October, the sun appears in Virgo with the moon at her feet, so this is not that remarkable."
However, I do soooooo understand your longing to be raptured and go and be with the Lord......I too have a great desire to be outta here!!! And thus, it would be 'nice' if it were true.....but yeah, it's like Cindy said....
And then there's the fact that some people think it's a 'fact' and are soooooo disappointed when these types if things don't come true....some even come close to losing their faith as a result because either they are baby Christians, or weak in their faith.
Leonard and I have this 'different' guy friend.....and he is convinced the rapture will happen on the 23rd.....well I suppose it could, but I also know, it could not and if it doesn't I am not sure what our emotional friend will do!!!
We have tried to pull him a wee bit back to earth but nooooo he is certain Jesus will rapture us on the 23rd. so we will just have to be there for him, when it does not happen.

We have had some rain here from the effects of the hurricane but nothing like the coast of Texas. Today has been really nice.
Okay, here is a brag from a proud Grandma - our oldest grandson received his Eagle Scout pin and certificate last night. Our daughter and her hubby received Eagle Scout parents' pins too. It was really nice to see them. Our grandson has put in a lot of time and effort for this.
Leigh, you are working a lot on your part-time job.

That was informative to read about Sept 23rd. Barbra and Cindy, I did not know that. It feels like something is going to happen, maybe the Ezekiel 38 war, or a change that is going to happen in our country. Today when we were going to go for a ride in our truck we smelled gasoline, so Ron looked under the hood of the truck and we had a cracked fuel line that gasoline was coming out of, which if we would have driven the truck could have caused a fire. So we parked the truck until we buy new fuel line. The thing is that the fuel line was not that old to be cracked like that, what cheap fuel line, only 1 year on the truck. Our hot water doesn't work, hot water heaters are expensive to buy, Wayne made himself a solar hot water heater and that works well for him, but we only have to buy the heating element and replace it, which does not cost much. Leigh saying prayer for your husband. Was thinking about you Margie since you live in TX and the storm there and flood waters, all that water in one area and still news to read about that. Have you ever heard of Smith Wigglesworth? He held revivals and healing services, he was born in 1859 and died in 1947. I have heard about him before. I am thinking of buying a book about his sermons and also The believers walk with Christ by John MacArthur.

Yesterday was really strange, at least for me. I didn't wake up till really late so came here and posted in the bible study thread right away, and I think I posted a devotional too, but could tell I was getting more and more groggy so turned off the computer and went in the living room. I immediately fell asleep and didn't wake up till Bruce came home from work. I vaguely remember him asking me if I was ok, and tried to tell him I was just tired. I thought I then asked him if he had a good day, but he said I fell back to sleep and asked him that about a half hour later when I woke up when he came back into the living room and sat down. Apparently I went back to sleep though before he could answer me. Then I woke up again about a half hour later and again asked if he'd had a good day and again fell asleep before he could answer me. I finally woke up again around 7 and got up and grabbed a carton of coffee ice cream, knowing that if I ate it, it would likely keep me awake because it would make me cold. It worked! I managed to stay awake for two hours! That's when Bruce told me all of this I went to bed at 9 hoping I'd be able to sleep but not sure since I've never slept an entire day away before; but I slept through the night too. I can hardly believe it. Bruce has had this happen before, and I've read about it happening to others with RA, but haven't ever experienced it totally myself. In the past, I've been groggy and without energy all day, but never actually slept. Very weird..... And of course, now I'm a day behind in all my chores so I've got to hurry so I can get everything done today.
That's awesome Margie! That doesn't happen all that often any longer. Please give him my congratulations too!
That's a very good example of one of the reasons the Lord doesn't want us to try and figure out when the rapture or the 2nd coming is going to happen Barbara.
The book by MacArthur is really good Marlene! But please use discernment if you read anything by Wigglesworth as you could say he's one of the founders of the Word of Faith movement - often called the name it and claim it or the Health, Wealth and prosperity gospel. He was into some really weird things too as are some of today's current so called "faith healers". If you want to know more about him here's a good article about a book that's similar to a biography about him that compares what he says with what the bible says:
www.bereanresearchinstitute.com/03_Doctrines/D.0005_Smith_Wigglesworth_A_Book_Review_of_Pentecostal_Teachings.html
Here's another one about him: endtimesprophecyreport.com/2015/06/15/smith-wigglesworth-apostle-of-faith-or-apostasy/
I hope everyone has a great day today!

Cindy: I was giving Anna the Answers in Genesis reasons for NOT trying to figure out the dates for the rapture and 2nd coming.....I wasn't pro Sept 23rd.....our poor young friend is so certain the rapture will happen then based on the 'signs in the sky'......however as the Creation scientist pointed out these 'signs' are really nothing all that 'special'.
But there is in fact, a big push on the net with tons and tons of videos pushing that idea.....it's like the blood moons theory, however, perhaps even bigger.
The thing is not only is it going against what God said against what God said about date setting, ( like with so many other date setting events over the years, decades and even centuries)....when nothing ends up happening, people get so disappointed and start doubting or 'lose their faith'.
What makes this event more tricky is like Anna says she feels like something is going to happen.... and I do think, we ARE living in the end times..... so that alone gives more plausibility or makes it seem more credible.
And the thing is.....'something happening'.....is more likely every day....like Anna said...the Ezekiel 38 war....but that could happen today, because we are living in the end times.
But based on the signs in the sky...one of the thing this Creation astronomer mentioned ( this Sept event ) won't even be seen....so just based on signs in the sky......humans out to be able to see the signs!!! But also most of these things happen at least once every year, some every month (like the moon at Virgo's feet).
But anyway, I was not sure if you thought I believed in this event....I do think at some point there will in fact be signs in the sky.....but I am thinking they will be during the tribulation and very very big...all folks will note when the sun turns dark etc.

It's a really gorgeous day here. I just saw on the news that the city of Beaumont doesn't have running water. We're a long way from the Gulf Coast, and I don't know anyone there after all these years. We donated to the Salvation Army for those affected by the hurricane, and my church will be a shelter for those people coming to the Ft. Worth area.

I posted this on Facebook, for my FH friends, but I wanted to post it here, for those who aren't on FB. I have to share this, with my Christian Brothers and Sisters. Before I tell you what happened, I need to say that God is always watching, always listening, and always providing. It is ALL in His timing and in His will.
Last night, when I was at Church, something really neat happened. I was listening to the speaker, teaching us about the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. It was an hour, and during that whole time, I felt really distracted. And when there was a break in the service, I started feeling anxious, and felt like I needed to leave. I said a silent prayer and asked the Lord if I should just go.
Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, two children came bounding down the length of my pew. I quickly drew my feet in, so the little girl could get past me, and then waited there for the boy. He stopped and grabbed me around the neck and gave me a big hug, then hurried on his way. I was sitting there, so stunned, like !! I turned around to the young couple, sitting behind me (who were just as stunned) and said, "That was SO precious!" All that anxiety just melted away, from me. I listened to the Lord, and stayed. I took it that He wanted me to stick around. And the next lesson was Psalm 26, and I can honestly say that I've never read that Psalm, before last night, and I think I really need to hear it, and understand it, and learn from it. And, I didn't know that I needed a hug, right at that moment, but the Lord knew. Not just any hug, either. A hug from a child. He's always there, always listening, always providing.

Well, maybe this fall when the weather is nice and cool your son and family and friends will be able to go to the campsite again and enjoy themselves.

My birds don't fight for jurisdiction, lol, they are patient onlookers, waiting their turn.
Well, being a truck driver really wasn't something that I strived for, or even planned, for myself. It was just a necessity. I had to figure out how to make a living, for both Ed and me, so he could quit the job at the lumber mill, that was killing him. He had just had his first heart attack, and that lumber stacking job was not something that he could do, anymore. Our plans didn't work out, at all, like we thought they would, but being a truck driver is something that will stay with me, for the rest of my life. I did it for a total of 4 years. I gave up my CDL, a long time ago, and don't regret it. I do honestly feel that it's that job that has caused me so much physical agony. If not that, then it added to it. But, to go back and not try. To go back and change things, the only thing I would change, would be to not let it affect my marriage. Because Ed was and still is, my everything.
It's really neat to read the positions that you have done. I've never worked on an assembly line. I think, because I'm so clumsy, that I wouldn't last very long in a hard job, like that. My mother did it, for a while, for an electrical parts assembly factory. But, she got her hand, in the way and the machine put a rivet through her middle finger, right at the nail. Needless to say, she didn't go back, after it finally healed. That kinda scared me from ever trying an assembly type job. My hat is off to you, for doing it. I'm thinking the same as you. That Rum may have soaked into your system, through your skin. Matter of fact, I know it did. Ed was a chemical engineer. He made everything from cough medicine to blood thinners, to sulfuric acid. Everyone who worked in the plant, where they made Heparin, would bleed like crazy, from just a paper cut. And I couldn't help but notice that all the workers were as pale as a ghost. Then I started noticing that Ed wasn't tanning like he normally did. Ed tanned so dark (usually), just by being in the sun, (even in the winter), but not when he worked at that place, and he was there for about 6 years. So, yes, they were absorbing that chemical, through their skin.
I have yet to catch my birds, bathing in the birdbath. I know they are around it, because I see their bird droppings on it, but haven't had the pleasure of seeing them enjoy the water.
hi all.. i'm off to open the Rec Center.. Kel, before you know it, the entire neighborhood of hummingbirds will be fighting for a drink. Just be sure to change the sugar solution every week, in the heat, because it will go sour.Kel: We've been in the upper 60's and low 70's. Actually this has been a colder summer than usual...tho today we may get really HOT around 79....we'll see if it actually does get that hot....but we also usually have a breeze and then the marine layer comes rolling in as soon as it starts to get dark and/or if Portland get way hot, that too will pull the marine layer in earlier than night time.
I don't love the cold, but I really can't take the heat. I have always gotten heat headaches, can't sleep in the heat, and get even more tired than normal.....plus I love the ocean...so all in all....no hot weather for me. I don't know what it's like to live near the ocean, Barbara, but I did get to experience a precious little while, in Rhode Island. I was delivering to a company, who happened to be right on the edge of the coast. And when I say "edge" I mean it. LOL, that's where the dock was......on the edge. But, while I was waiting to be unloaded, I went over and sat on the cliff and took in the salty air and the peacefulness of the experience. I had never had that pleasure, being raised in the Midwest, and it was really something. And a wonderful break, from a rather stressful day, in Rhode Island. (another post, for another time, lol)I get my hummingbird feeders from the store Hossanah is assistant manager at the dollar tree....for a $1.00.....
but I did buy 12 from dollar tree on line for $12.00 for 12.
If you have a dollar tree near you there is no shipping cost, because they will deliver whatever you order directly to the store and you pick it up there.
Because they are always delivering things to the store.....they just put your orders on the truck, so no delivery charge. Barbara, that is a great price, for a hummingbird feeder. They around $10 around here. If you want glass and not plastic, then the price goes considerably higher. They don't have a very good selection at the dollar stores, around here. I like glass, for my hummers, because they are much easier to clean. I have to clean mine, several times, during the season. Well....you should clean them each time you fill them, but I have to admit that I don't, anymore. But, I do rinse them.
That's good that the dollar tree does that. I didn't know they did. Walmart and Lowe's do that, where you can buy it online and go pick it up and show your receipt, or order it online and when you get an email notification, that it's been delivered, you go pick it up, at the store with no shipping charge. I really like that. It keeps me from having to walk so much, through the stores.
Anna, I would really lean toward the Pastors who want to avoid that subject, because what they are avoiding is date setting. We are commanded to only watch for the signs, and only the Father knows the exact date. All those others, who jump on that money wagon are false teachers, the ones who give it away for free, need to check themselves, too, because they are disobeying God's word. Matthew 24:36-42 The Day and Hour Unknown
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
Lorrie, my prayers are with John. I pray that he will be able to find a position, that doesn't require so much travel, and cause so much hardship on him. Has he considered applying for disability? He can sign on to the SSA site and make an account and see what he would receive, if he were to go that route. It's a long process, but it really does seem to me that men get it much easier than women do. At least that has been my observation.
Wow, that's a lot of days work, to be considered 'part time'. But, companies do that to their employees. They call it part time, so they don't have to pay benefits, then work your tail off. When an employee calls them down for it, they say "oh this is temporary. It won't be full time, all the time." But, they are lying. Don't believe it. But, if you don't want to work that many days, maybe you can let them know? Some companies do actually accommodate their employees. Not many though. But all that standing in one place for so long, is hard on anyone. I still think that they should let you have a bar stool to sit on.

OH, Cindy, LOL, I see now that you already posted the scripture reference, that I did above. Oh well, I'm not going to go back and delete all of that.......I'll just leave it there, OK? It took me a while to find it, searching the correct words.
I didn't forget about your other post, here. I quoted you, then when I went to delete all the quoting of quoting, I messed it all up. So, I'll quote you again, in another post, and finish from there.
I hope that you and Leonard are able to help him understand the truth, Barbara, and be there for him if he seems in despair. That's so neat about your Grandson. I always had a lot of fun, participating in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, when my brothers were members. My parents had to work, so I drove them to their meetings. I did also help with my niece's Brownie troop, on year. That was a lot of fun too. And Joshua was always with me with whatever I was doing, so they made him an "Honorary Brownie". He was only about 3 years old, so we got away with it. lol
I'm glad to see that you aren't getting the brunt of that storm. I pray for those who are.
Anna, I hope you can get your truck fixed, without too much expense. That's awful that it only lasted a year. Could it be because of the fuel expanding in the heat?
I hope you can find an element for your water heater. Sometimes, it really is beneficial to sign onto FB, for times like this. They have TONS of "buy and sell" groups, where people sell all kinds of things for real cheap. I sold a wood rocker, recently. And because of one of those groups, I was able to find a needy person, for the C-PAP machine that was Ed's. I still have not found anyone, who needs hearing aides, but am still looking. I'd like to give them to a veteran, but not necessarily. Someone in need, who can't afford them, is good enough for me. All they'd have to do, is pay for them to be fitted for themselves. That's nothing in comparison to what those things cost.
Cindy, I've had MANY days like that. And some very recently too. It's a horrible feeling. The harder I try to stay awake, the harder it gets, and every time I'd sit down, I'd be out like a light. Like I passed out. And.........lol, yeah.......I tried the ice cream thing too. But, sugar causes me the opposite effect. I MAKES me sleep. One of those days, I went out to mow the lawn and felt like I could just curl up and sleep, right there in my front yard! Yes........a terrible feeling. And when the ordeal passes, finally, I feel beat up.Cindy: I was giving Anna the Answers in Genesis reasons for NOT trying to figure out the dates for the rapture and 2nd coming.....I wasn't pro Sept 23rd.....our poor young friend is so certain the rapture will happen then based on the 'signs in the sky'......however as the Creation scientist pointed out these 'signs' are really nothing all that 'special'.
Not to worry, Barbara. I understood your post, clearly. I know you were only worried for your friend, who is believing in date setting. I'm sure that Cindy's post didn't indicate she thought that you are pro Sept 23rd. I didn't take it that way, anyway.
Worth area. I spent a lot of time in Beaumont Texas, when I drove. There was a place, there in Houston, I delivered to quite often. And then I'd go stay at a little place that allowed truck parking, to wait for my next load assignment. I hope and pray that the people, there, will have their lives back soon. Wow, the devastation is beyond horrible. I'm happy to see that your Church is getting involved with the flooded out refugees. They announced, last night, at my Church that they will be donating $10,000.00 to the relief efforts, and then the proceeds from this Sunday will be added to that amount. I was thrilled to hear that.

I read your post on facebook bout that and loved how you told it...about the lightening and all lol. I hope you're able to get the yard back to how you want it soon. I had to babysit Friday and the kids helped me work in the garden all day long. We got a whole lot done too!I love talking about God and His Word and everything about Him, including the rapture. We did that one year as I recall, but there was something wrong with the feeder we bought so never tried again. Bruce brought that up just last night too. Weird how we're all thinking about the hummingbirds at the same time huh?
OK, lol, I'm trying to quote what you wrote, again, Cindy. I think it worked, this time.
It sounds like you had a lot of fun, in the garden with the kids. I'm glad you were able to get outside. After I posted a video, for you, Cindy, I too tried to find somewhere that you could get a copy of the instructions. What I did figure out, is that it's not just instructions, but a book saying there are thousands of scripture questions and answers to play the game with. Maybe do what I suggested to Anna? Find a "Buy and Sell" group on Facebook, for your area and post an 'ISO' (In Search Of) to see if anyone has the game, and wouldn't mind copying it for you. Maybe you can offer to pay for the copying expense. Also a Christian group, in your area might have someone there, who has the game. Or anyone who will to sell you the game, for real cheap who has the book included. That would be neat, because then you'd have more than one game and let the kids take it home, with them to play. ....or a Christmas gift.... Just thinking "out loud". lol
That's too funny about your birds, Cindy. I too have heard rackets like that, coming from the trees and have it quiet down, just as suddenly as it started. Sometimes, because they all flew away, but most times, I can see them still there. One time, I heard a squirrel just chattering up a fuss! I heard it from indoors. I was almost afraid to look out, because that chattering could be something that I really didn't want to see again.....(I don't think I need to explain that. ). But, I went out to see what all the noise was about and a squirrel seemed either very mad or very threatened. He was upside down on the telephone pole screaming and barking toward the wood pile, out back. Then he scurry up the pole, then come back down, doing the same thing. I figured that it must have been a snake in the wood pile, or something just as threatening to him. I stayed clear of it, and went back in the house.
Did the hummingbird feeder, that I sent to you, work for you? I know it was kinda large and held 32 ounces of nector, but did it work for you? I bought one for myself, too. But, because it was plastic, it needed to be thoroughly washed and I made the mistake of putting it into too hot of water and actually melted it! This is why I don't buy plastic ones, anymore.

We have had a busy month ...we clean one apt for our landlord this summer....only he schudule a lot of 4 hour turn- around....which makes it really hard and stressful ( doing the wash for 4 beds, making them, towels, and cleaning bathroom, 3 bedrooms, kitchen living room ( stove, fridge, microwave, sinks, toaster, rugs, floor, windows etc etc. etc.
Tho today was not a turn around....still our granddaughter wants to go to a sleep-over ( sort of all her friends getting together for a last hurrah....then she wants to go fishing with her boyfriend and his grandpa...... which means ( after cleaning from 11-7 today, I will be getting up at 3 am to go over to watch Devon ( her brother, our grandson) because our daughter Hossanah has to be at work at 4 am.....soooooo I will watch him until Hossanah gets home around 1 in the afternoon.....I am already hurting and tired arrrgghhhh
Sorry for dumping my grumpies on you all, I am just very tired...and did I mention...grumpy? LOL
And I didn't do Cindy's bible study yet...sooooo I cannot NOT do Bible study.... so off I go to our Bible study and then to bed.
It's the first time, I have not done it in the morning....I cannot let it go until night because it is not giving the Lord my best....more like giving Him crumbs....so I think I have learned my lesson!!!

Barbara, I don't feel like you dumped your grumpies on us. We are all one in the body of Christ, so when your tired and hurting, then we are all tired and hurting. And, to add............I cannot do all that you described. Especially in a 4 hour turnaround. I hope you are getting paid, handsomely for all that you do.
Barbara you are too sweet to be grumpy.. **hugs** I would love to live near the ocean like you.. i do like 68-78 degree days.. i feel those are perfect, but i feel Louisiana will be home for us soon.. so i am happy the heat doesn't bother me too much.. just can't live up here much longer.. if david retires early, thats the plan anyway.. my allergies have been bugging me a lot lately, we do need a good rain.. once. lol i love your story Cheryl.. that little boy was so sweet.. Cindy, i have been EXHAUSTED lately.. for no real reason.. i know i don't sleep enough, but i will go out and watch a program with david and fall out.. and it wouldn't be from working in Seattle or what not. i am just plain tired. I spoke on the phone with Marianne today, and we spoke a little about how the body of Christ are fighting against so much and we are all.. just tired.. Kel, yes. He was very sweet. I'm still in awe, what happened.
I hope that you and David can make your move soon, so that you will have a better time of breathing from your asthma.

Cheryl:
Thank you for your kind words.
The only way I am able to do the cleaning is to really double up on pain meds, muscle relaxers, various herbal concoctions, and things like e-mergen-c, etc., etc., etc.
and then,
in a couple of hours take more....
but then I pay for it...
not one wink of sleep last night...in toooooo much pain....
plus our grandson Devon, did not go to sleep until about 6 this morning.
i always thought it was just because he wanted to play video games..... but it turns out, he is also afraid of the dark because he says he 'sees' things in the dark.....
I was so tired I did not think to tell him that Jesus is waaaay more powerful than anything he sees or thinks he sees.

I know Barbara, that's why I said they were good examples of why it's not good to try and find the date lolIt's a really gorgeous day here. I just saw on the news that the city of Beaumont doesn't have running water. We're a long way from the Gulf Coast, and I don't know anyone there after all these years. We donated to the Salvation Army for those affected by the hurricane, and my church will be a shelter for those people coming to the Ft. Worth area. I saw that too. It's horrible. It seems like it's just one thing after another lately, as far as so called "natural disasters" goes, doesn't it?I posted this on Facebook, for my FH friends, but I wanted to post it here, for those who aren't on FB.
How awesome Cheryl! I'm so glad you shared that here so I could see it. I'm afraid I just haven't had time to go on facebook lately. Even when I do, I often just skim over a few things as that's all I have time for.
That's ok Cheryl, not a problem at all and no reason you should delete it. I'm glad you looked it up. Every time we read God's Word or look something up in it, makes it that much clearer to us. And since God uses His Word to change us to be more like Christ, obviously, the more we're in it, for whatever reason, the more work He can do in us!Yesterday was really strange, at least for me.
And when the ordeal passes, finally, I feel beat up.
Yeah, it wasn't fun, but it's just another wonderful symptom of RA and Sjögren's. I get to see our Rheumatologist today finally, as does Bruce. They set aside two hours for us, but even the nurse knows he's going to take longer than that, cause he always does with us. We wind up just chatting at the end, so they always make us his last two appointments lol. We go in together though, so we're both in with him for the 2 plus hours. I can hardly wait because I know he's going to write me a prescription to take pilocarpine. Bruce has had it for a year and a half and I've wanted badly to take it as it helps with the dry eyes and dry mouth and everything else. He even wrote Bruce an extra prescription and wrote it the way he wanted it written for me so I could show my regular doctor and ask him to write it. But I just couldn't bring myself to do that, and I won't take something I don't have a prescription for, no matter how badly I need it. I didn't think the dry mouth could get worse, but it has. I've had days where my mouth and throat are so dry it feels like I've been in a desert without water for days and no matter what I drink, even as I'm drinking it, my mouth and throat stay feeling just as dry. So I'll be taking the first dose when we get home today!

I understood your post, clearly. I know you were only worried for your friend, who is believing in date setting. I'm sure that Cindy's post didn't indicate she thought that you are pro Sept 23rd. I didn't take it that way, anyway.
You're right Cheryl, I was basically thanking her for providing a good example of why date setting isn't good.
That's a good idea about the groups, I hadn't thought of that and I'm a member of several of them in my area. I'll have to do that when I have time, thanks!
That's funny about the squirrel lol. I've seen mine occasionally chewing each other out for some reason lol
I'd forgotten that you gave us that one Cheryl! I don't remember what happened, except that it wasn't usable after I washed it. I can't remember if we were still using our dishwasher at that time or not, but if we were, I don't think I'd have put it in there. But our water gets really hot and I probably put it in a tub of hot water to soak and the same thing may have happened. I just can't remember for sure though.....
We have had a busy month ...we clean one apt for our landlord this summer....only he schudule a lot of 4 hour turn- around....which makes it really hard and stressful ( doing the wash for 4 beds, making them, towels, and cleaning bathroom, 3 bedrooms, kitchen living room ( stove, fridge, microwave, sinks, toaster, rugs, floor, windows etc etc. etc.

Well, it's way past time for me to go get ready to leave! Have a good day everyone!

I ended up having 2 days of weird not sleeping...but sleeping the 2nd day for sometimes just seconds at a time. I was trying to read Ephesians for our Bible study and I would read a verse, think on in for a few seconds and fall asleep and then...wake up in a few more seconds... it keep going on like that for 1/2 an hour.....
lest you think it was just Ephesian LOL.... it happened even when I tried reading a Christian novel ( same thing) or tried watching different things on the internet... same thing
But if I tried to just take a nap...no deal.....
it was like being awake but dreaming...
Finally tho Last night I got to sleep..... so I am better today...
I didn't fall asleep reading Ephesians today! LOL
but I am still very very tired!!!

I hope we all get the rest that we need, there must be something in the air or the water, or sun rays. Oh speaking of water, since I get my well water from a rocky area for many years I can see the results of arsenic on my skin, even though I do filter the water to clean it better. I bought some Chai tea to try for the first time. I didn't think I would like it but I bought it because it was on sale. It is french vanilla with spices of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and ginger. I don't know what cardamom is but I am not crazy about cloves and ginger, anyways to my surprise I like it! Ron won't drink the tea.

Just wanted you all to know, I'm still alive lol. I feel like I've been running non stop and still am though. I saw the doctor Friday and he spent an hour and a half with just me! We discovered that I've lost a total of 2 and a half inches of height! That really freaked us all out! So he's ordered a bunch of tests to try and determine what's going on and why it's happening. It's obviously the cause of all the extra pain I've been in. I see my primary doctor today, and my eye doctor tomorrow, and have to schedule the tests for as soon as possible. I just want to go back to bed! Oh and I finally can take the med that I've been wanting to take and it works for me, with very little side effects! At least so far anyway lol. I'd better get to Barbara's bible study or she's going to think she's been abandoned!
Have a good day all!

That is good that you are getting good care from your doctors. Sounds like osteoporosis, I hope you get medicine that helps and does not have side effects.

Hi all,
Sorry to have been gone for so long again. We finally got moved into our new house. Between working and trying to get moved its been very tiring. We still aren't all done unpacking yet but should be this weekend.
We were without internet or tv for awhile. We didn't even know anything about hurricane Harvey until right before it hit.
Saw all the smoke in the air this morning when I went to work. The sun looked like an orange ball, not the usual yellow sun then I saw Kels pictures on facebook. I looked it up and we have one small fire up in northern Colorado less than 500 acres, I'm way down south almost to the New Mexico border (32 miles) so there's no way the smoke is from that fire. Its got to be from all the fires in the Pacific northwest!
Now we have Irma, which has turned into a CAT 5, headed towards the states and may very well slam into Florida and then I found out we have ANOTHER tropical storm named Jose in the Atlantic which is going to turn into a hurricane. Way to soon to know where that one is going. I think God is really trying to get our attention.

That is good that you are getting good care from your doctors. Sounds like osteoporosis, I hope you get medicine that helps and does not have side effects. It could be osteoporosis, except that whatever it is causes me a great deal of pain and makes it very hard to walk, and osteoporosis doesn't normally do that. It's been going on for several years and getting worse each year. I suspect it has something to do with my initial back injury. Hi all, Sorry to have been gone for so long again. I hope you'll be very happy there and have great neighbors too. I agree, there's been constant "natural disasters" everywhere for the last year. It's gotten worse each year for the last several years actually. I was just talking to the Lord about that yesterday and saying how it seems like a small preview of what's going to happen during the Tribulation when God's wrath is poured out on the unbelieving.

We too have the sun as a big orange/red ball but there is a big fire in kindof the northern central Or. so I guess its affecting us on the coast.
I heard about Irma....supposed to be the largest hurricane in the history of the Atlantic. and 'perhaps' another one trying to form in the gulf, I haven't looked to see if it is strengthening or weakening today.
Also an 10 X flare from the sun earth facing....I have yet to look at the details but that might cause problems with cell phones, internet etc.

Hope everyone is doing better. Sounds like we have lots of health problems. Very nice day here, with much cooler weather. Hugs.

Hi, everyone. I haven't been able to load FH, for the last 2 days. Finally tried again, today and got in. Yesterday, it almost loaded. I got the site, but it locked up, when I tried to click on the links.
Anna, I like different flavors of tea, but I've never tried Chi Tea. I probably spelled that wrong....I'm not looking at your post, to see how to spell it. Ed would only drink tea, for medicinal purposes, when I'd put it down in front of him. I used to give him a cup of tea, with honey in it, every morning. Then I got out of the habit, for some reason. Anyway, my favorite is green tea, with a teaspoon of raw honey in it. I dissolve the honey, then I pour the cup of tea, over a glass stuffed with ice, and drink it that way. LOVE it.
Cindy, I'm glad that you are now able to take the med you wanted. Osteoporosis is extremely painful, and it does cause bone loss, and height.
Welcome back online, Lee! I'm glad you were able to get moved into your new place. Yeah, all that is going on is a bit overwhelming, to put it mildly. One reporter, in Houston, asked a flood victim a very stupid question, (like most of them), but the guy handled it just fine. Reporter: What crossed your mind, when you saw the water rising? What were you feeling? Guy: I don't think I'm supposed to say that on TV.
Barbara, stay safe up there in the PNW! I'm so worried about Kel. She posted pictures of how it is up there, and she is in the thick of the smoke, with her asthma. She assured me that she is staying indoors, though, so that is helping her. But, those fires are awfully close to her.
Margie, we are getting some nice cool weather here too. Yesterday, not so cool, but then a storm blew through for about 30 minutes and cooled everything off, quite nicely. It's only 70 degrees, and I left my windows open all night long, to get the breeze. They are still open, matter of fact. No having to run the a/c today!
