Hi everyone! It was a really crazy weekend, just as I suspected it would be, but it was also very enjoyable. I can't believe that Alissa is 12 years old and Elijah and Grace are not that much behind her! She had a really full day...first another of my granddaughters, Isabella, spent the night with her and then attended her birthday party along with all the other kids she'd invited including the rest of my grandchildren. After her party, most of those kids went with her to yet another child's birthday party where they all spent the night there! Sunday was church and I'm sure she was exhausted by then LOL. As for us, we took Elijah and Grace home with us after Alissa's party so Jenn and bob could go to Jenn's class reunion near by. Everyone had a good time. I wasn't able to make it to church, but Jenn told me that they had the service outside. it was a beautiful day and right above the congregation, a beautiful hawk was flying in circles during the service! BTW if you haven't hear Santa Clarity Valley fire is still out of control BTW where I live is heavy smoke we almost next door up in hill mountain area but skies turn red last night before sunset it was crazy that my big story right now I sure hope they get the fires under control soon!My goodness 7of9, praying you stay safe in that fire! Hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your summer break.
Margie, where do you buy vanilla bean?
Cindy, I am sure that Elijah and Grace must be a delight to their teachers at church, and a help to the other children also. It is always obvious to the teachers, which children are taught the Bible at home.
Speaking of churches & SS classes and all, we just finished VBS week at our church. I taught preschool music this year. The preschoolers were divided into two groups, and each group rotated through my room for 20 minutes a piece. We did the Lifeway "Submerged" VBS and the music was, in my opinion, quite disappointing, so I ditched it and used an old tape of "WeeSing" Christian songs... centered on the Lord rather than the children, which is what I felt the Submerged songs did (focused on how great the kids are, moreso than the greatness of GOD).
The Bible stories were good - they were 5 stories from the life of Jesus, so I borrowed some of the beautiful old SS pictures from a lady who has been teaching children for 40+ years and filled the bulletin board with those, rather than ocean decor. I also did a table display of different Bibles... since it is actually BIBLE school, and the preschoolers LOVED it! It actually surprised me that the little ones were so interested in all the Bibles. So every day we sang the kids songs, reviewed the Bible stories (the actual lesson was taught in another classroom), looked at the Bibles, some days played rhythm instruments.... (I did do the overall Submerged theme song a time or two). Even though we had fewer children this year than ever, it was the best year of VBS I've ever worked!
Hello to everyone else... hope you all enjoy your weekend.
I'm so glad you caught that about the songs as many people don't! I wish there were a whole bunch more women like you to teach the children! To me it was end of the world with all smoke and clouds mix up with each other I bet it looked that way! Please stay safe!To me it was end of the world with all smoke and clouds mix up with each other I'm sure it was!!! That is scary!!! Kelly... Melissa Cook wanted to pass a big HI on to you! so I said I would do this for her here on fresh hope... be safe! Hope you're all doing well Lulu!I'm sorry to hear that Lorrie. I've been praying that the Lord would keep you free of migraines but didn't think about colds.... hope you get to feeling better quickly! By the way, how's your hubby doing with the remicade? I'm still praying that he won't have any bad reactions or side effects from it and that it will work well for him....OHHH tell her I am on FB MANN I just saw NFL schedule first pre season game going be less than 3 weeks Colts vs Packers on NBC network at 8pm est not sure if that's good or bad....since I don't follow sports, but hope its something you think is good...I hope you all are doing fine today.
Thanks Anna, you too! I'm way behind as usual, so I guess I'd better get busy!

Our friend Wayne gave us one of his Bibles to look at. Ron wanted to give it back to him the next day but I said no that I wanted to look at the Bible for a few days, as it had more references and comments than my Bible. So since Ron could not get the Bible out of my hands he bought me a Bible just like Wayne's Bible, so Wayne will get his Bible back in a few days. LOL
Last Friday's Bible study did not go so well, I think things will be back to normal today. I was so hot and tired that I almost did not go to Bible study and Michael the teaches had such a bad headache that he could not see out of his right eye. So he was dragging on talking about Adam and Eve for an hour and that is when I got bored. I started reading in the book of John and was not even hearing what he was saying, then I posted a scripture from the book of John, then Michael asked if people were even listening to what he was saying, he was a little upset. I thought how rude of me to post a scripture so off subject to the study, but we are supposed to be in the book of Revelations. Oh well all is well as we all move on and love each other.

I think I will switch from away from the Bible study , to praise and worship instead. I am using the Biblegateway.com to look up scriptures from references instead of flipping pages of the Bible, it works faster. It is nice to have a site like Biblegateway to be able to use. I have to go now, praise and worship is starting now.

That's a shame that you can't do both and have to choose. But I hope you enjoy your time with the Lord, however you spend it!

The reason why I have to choose between Bible study or worship with the same chat friends, is because I need the time to read the Bible on my own, with chores and all there seems to not be enough time in the day to do everything.
I was reading about clover, that it is edible and also that white clover flower can be used in place of vanilla for a vanilla flavor. I do seed sprouting, so I was reading about what health benefits clover has, it is good for menopausal woman. Info.Eric Berg, youtube menopause.

I can understand why Matt Crouch would think that now would be a good time to sell.
Pastor Paul and wife Heidi who give away prayer cloths said there was a miracle healing for a woman that had a lung disease. The woman then gave her prayer cloth to a man and he also was healed from his health problem, so the man framed the prayer cloth and put it on his wall.
At on-line Bible study yesterday someone logged on with the user name moron. When the teacher Michael was talking moron typed, nag, nag, nag, how can you guys listen to this? Being a distraction he was not allowed to stay.

Sorry I couldn't get here yesterday. The internet was down when I woke up and we didn't get it back till around supper time last night. I have no idea what caused it, but I'm sure glad it got fixed! Love you Cindy, I appreciate the effort you put into making this FH site about the truth of the Lord. Bless your heart Anna, thank you!BTW there is story going around On SO CAL media that perhaps with death of Jan Crouch TBN co president Matt Crouch may sell the OC HQ of KTBN and Holy land experience word on the street in OC saying that I was listen to one of radio station here in SO CAL I wish they'd repent and truly be saved, then sell it all and give it to the poor. I can understand why Matt Crouch would think that now would be a good time to sell.

That's wonderful about the healings! There seems to be an abundance of people like that guy (or gal) who seem to have nothing better to do then go out of their way to find and then harass other people.Yeah that what I gathering btw well known fact that some cable companies are dropping TBN and new Hillsong channel not enough ratings I know this for a fact Praise the Lord TBN mothership program is only two time of the week or hardly on LOL! Yeah you are right That's great since that means there aren't enough people listening to the false teaching!Cindy? Oh Cindy The lights are out in the chat room. What have you been doing? LOL Sorry hon, my internet was down, or else I'd have been here. I've been studying Acts 5 for the last two days. It's very convicting! I studied for about 6 hours yesterday and again today. Afterward, yesterday, I just did some chores around the house as it's been really hot here.
I've gotta tell you guys about a funny phone call we got the other night. The caller ID showed a name that we didn't recognize so Bruce answered it. I heard Bruce keep saying, "hello", "hello" as though no one was there; but then he'd pause like he was hearing something, and start saying "hello" again. After maybe 5 minutes of that, it was obvious that someone was finally talking to him. After hanging up he told me that at first he could hear voices and like someone was fumbling with something. He didn't know what had happened but it turned out to be a wrong number. Well I got a call from that same number yesterday afternoon... at least I thought it was the same one. I answered it and the person said, "Hi mom!" and then continued to speak about their day. It sounded just like my son Christopher and that's who I thought it was! I figured he was probably just using someone else's phone. Well when I answered them, it confused them. (I know now that it confused them because my voice didn't sound like their mothers voice LOL) So he said, "Who are you, are you so and so?" (can't think of the name) I said, "No! I'm your mother!" still thinking it was my son and he was being silly. He said no and told me who he was and we finally figured out that he'd called the wrong number. I mentioned that he'd called the night before. He told me that was kind of true... he actually "pocket dialed" the number which was stored in the phone, and didn't realize it at first! That's why it took him so long to respond to Bruce. He'd lost his phone with all his numbers in it, and got this one from a friend, but they obviously had his mother's number wrong. So he apologized and said he'd remove the number from the phone so it wouldn't happen again. Made for an interesting call anyway!

Hearing about the miracle that Anna told us about brought up something I'd been thinking about for some time, so I wrote about it in another forum. I love hearing about miracles, but it also makes me wish that we heard more about perseverance too as that's a very important thing we're all to develop according to scripture. Anyway I wanted to write about it but please know that in no way did I mean to take away from anyone's miracles. After all, the Lord's given me more miracles than I can count!
Just talked to Elijah and he's getting ready to leave for camp now. Any prayers for his protection and safty this week would be much appreciated. There are so many child predators out there that it's scary.

Cindy that was funny how you talked to that man on the phone and thought it was your son.
Didn't Elijah go to that camp last year also, that looks like fun for the boys, will say prayers for their safety.
I agree with what you say about perseverance. All children of God go through trials for their benefit, but trials are difficult to go through, but we learn from them. I know Ron and I went through many years of difficult times, I don't talk about it to others, we did learn, and grow stronger. I try to live in the now and not to think about the past. Miracles are such a blessing and I have had miracles happen in my life also.
My neighbor Donna had many tomato plants growing in her screened in porch area and they were doing well, then one day the plants were dead. She said it was lime green colored worms or caterpillars that killed the plants. So I took my potato potted plant out of it's pot and I also saw the worms in the soil. That was the only potted plant that I had grown anything in this summer.

Hi Lulu, hope you had a great weekend and will have a really wonderful week in the Lord!
Yeah, that was pretty strange and funny Marlene LOL
No, this is the first time he's gone and the first time he's ever been away from home except for the one time he slept at my house over night a few years ago.
Thank you for your encouragement and understanding too. I agree about not living in the past. The Lord tells us to stay in the present with Him, with the only exceptions being when we look back at what He's done for us, or look forward to when He completes our salvation and we get to be with Him.
What a shame that all her plants died and that you found the same in yours too. I haven't been able to do hardly anything in the yard this year because of my back and due to the excessive heat. We finally got a break from it yesterday, but it's been raining (which we needed badly) and still is. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow too and maybe I'll be able to get outside and do some work in the garden. I hope so!

Hi everyone! We were on vacation all last week and I was sick the whole time with that bad cold, then (as mentioned on FB), Daniel sliced open his thumb on our way home and we had to find an urgent care center for him.
We had hoped to find cooler weather in the NC/TN mountains, but really it was only cooler in one spot that we visited -- Chimney Rock, NC. It was perfect there! The rest of the places were almost as warm as here, and just as humid. I'm done with summer.
Trying to get back in the swing of things here at home. I'm working on painting the master bathroom ceiling today. We have been re-doing that bathroom all year and have finally found a tile man to finish up the work, although he won't be available for three more weeks. Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Cindy, that was so funny about the phone calls with your "son". It reminded me that John said some woman called here the other day, insisting that someone from our number had just called her. He and Daniel were the only ones at home and he assured her that neither of them had dialed her number, but she wouldn't believe him and got really agitated. She even called back a second time insisting they they'd called her. It was funny, the way he retold it to me.
Wow Anna, I'm sorry about your neighbor's tomato plants -- and you must be glad that you only had one potato plant and not a bunch of others. Hello to Lulu, Margie, Seven, and anybody else!
Cindy, have you had any word from Elijah since he's been at camp? Hope he's having a wonderful week.
OH, Cindy you'd asked me about how John is doing on his Remicade. Thank you SO much for your prayers and kindness! He's had three treatments now and so far, so good! He seems to be doing well, but they say it takes 2-3 months to build up in the body and really notice a difference. At least he has not had any reactions as he did with Humira. He's still on another medicine he's been taking since his diagnosis 7 years ago, but the doctor is slowly tapering him from that; he should be off it by the end of August, so that's when we'll really see how he does on Remicade. Okay, back to my painting.

I'm so glad that the Lord has prevented any bad reactions or side effects for him! That must be a real relief! That they take so long to make a difference is hard to deal with, at least it was for me. I guess patience isn't one of my strong points lol. I'll continue to pray that he has really good results with it.
That's funny that you guys got a similar call. Reminds me of when my friend Laura called me because my number showed up on her caller ID so she thought I'd called her. Only I didn't have a clue what her number was and hadn't called anyone for days, and neither had Bruce, so we knew we'd never made that call. We figured it had to have been the Lord who put our number on her caller ID, just so we'd get back in touch with each other, as she had just begun turning back to the Lord at that time. Ever since then, it's made me wonder if God's hand is in it when other things like that happen since there's no such thing as coincidences....
I'm sorry you've been sick during your vacation. I'm with you about summer though, I'm more then ready for the heat to be gone. It was a nice day here yesterday, but the heat is back today. Speaking of yesterday, I had the pleasure of having Gracie here with me all afternoon as Jenn had to work. We played some games and then of course she wanted to go work in the garden lol. My back wasn't at all up to doing anything, so I suggested that she water to the plants with the hose. She enjoyed doing that, and managed to accidentally water me several times as well Just about got Grandpa too when he got home from work!
No, we haven't heard anything from Elijah. We really miss him, but I'm sure he's having a great time. Jenn's spending a lot of special time with Gracie this week and doing a lot of "girl stuff" with her to make it a special time for her as well. Thanks Lulu! I hope you get that raise soon, and am so glad you're going to get to spend more time with Jazzy this coming weekend. She's certainly a blessed little girl to have two sets of godly grandparents to love her!
I agree about ceilings! I leave those for Bruce! At least I did till he showed me the trick of using a roller on a very long pole so that you don't have to be on a ladder.
Back's been really bad the last 4 days so today I'm taking it easy again... or still LOL

Wow Kelly, way to go, you went down that bank slide, how did you and your family members like it. I would go down the slide if I lived where you do, but then maybe I am nuttier than a fruit cake, I wouldn't know.
I have lots of outdoors work to do, filled in a hole in my driveway yesterday with three sandbags, heavy rain caused the hole. I was out driving in that heavy rain, ugh, could not see the truck in front of me at one point on the Interstate, that was scary. Yesterday my dogs wanted to attack a delivery man, that is what he gets for not having a treat for them to eat, the usual delivery guy knows to carry dog biscuits with him. He was gone so fast I was not able to apologize to him.

lol poor guy. Sounds like you've been busy lately. We got some rain thankfully, but no where near enough. So many are suffering from dry wells and the streams and ponds are either very low or dry. Of course, crops are suffering too. Hope we get some cooler weather and a lot more rain soon.

Really hot here. I pull weeds in flower beds real early in the mornings but by 8 am it's too hot for me. I read a biography of Pearl Buck. She wrote The Good Earth. I am so tired of hot weather!
Not much going on. Hugs to all.

Same here with me, I have enjoyed going down a slide, but do not like roller coasters. The roller coasters at Disney Land and Disney World are fun to ride, but I went on one of those larger roller coaster in Denver CO once and thought I was going to die. We were 4 girls on the ride, I think the two girls that were from Denver liked the roller coaster ride, they were on it once before, but I had no warning as to the steep fall from the top or the loop that the roller coaster did. I would more like going to a park with flowers now and enjoy that, maybe that is because I am old now.
