it's been a wonderful day....thus far.... Good to hear from you Lulu! You must be very busy what with work and all, and of course having your house guests too doesn't make things any easier I'm sure. But I'm glad you had a really good day Saturday and hope the rest of your weekend went well too!
Good evening Lulu, Anna, Margie, Cindy. I had a visit to the Wound Center on Friday. The wound is getting smaller and smaller. However, they had to cut skin in the wound. Can you say painful. I can . Lol But on the much brighter side, I am now 2-3 weeks away from leaving the Wound Center. Praise God! I and my doctor's are pleased with the outcome. I hope each and everyone of you have a Blessed Weekend. I'm so glad you're finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel Mark. I know it's been a long and weary road for you. However, SO glad to hear you are almost through at the Wound Center! Lulu, is this a Jazzy weekend? What all are you doing? Cindy, thank you so much for the pain pill advice for my father. I spoke to him late this afternoon and he was doing pretty well; pain has been minimal, so I passed along your suggestions about keeping to the schedule with his meds. He appreciated your concern and prayers, and said he is pretty much keeping to the doctor's directions, because it wears off about when it's time for the next pill, anyway. Anna, thank you for your prayers for Daddy AND the family also. Actually, it's only Mother who is there taking care of him, although of course my sister and I are both concerned... but too far away to help. Well my baby boy turns 17 today. I just posted a few baby pics of him on FB and we'll be taking him out to lunch after church, and I got him a mango key lime pie from Publix. He much prefers pie to cake ("I'm a pie man," he's been saying since he was a tiny little boy ), and the mango key lime flavor is usually only sold in the spring and is his favorite. Also, our pastor retired after being at our church for 30 years. Last Sunday was his final sermon, but today was his actual date of retirement, so we had a reception for him. The deacons have been collecting money for a gift, and I just assumed they would give him cash, but no -- they collected enough to buy him a new car! He was SO surprised (so were all of us, I think!). It was a wonderful and much-deserved gift, as he had an old car with many miles; I don't know how many but I heard over 300,000, but assume that HAD to be an exaggeration. Anyway, after all our church has been through over the last few months with the split, I think he can retire knowing how much we love him and are grateful for his service. I saw the pictures Lorrie, he's such a handsome young man! I've always preferred pie myself so I can relate to that! What a wonderful surprise for your pastor and such a fantastic gift! I bet he's been praising God ever since! I'm glad your dad is keeping the pill schedule. I'm still praying and hoping he passes it soon!Leigh, they use a salve in the wound , that is supposed to kill the pain. It works most of the time, to a certain point. I did not feel the procedure until 30 min later. I still have pain but I have it under control. It's all good. Sorry to hear that your Pastor retired. I bet he had some great sermons. I hope and pray that the new Pastor is a good man of God. Congratulations on your son's 17th Birthday. And for the record, I prefer pie over cake. Lol. Looks like quite a few of us prefer pie LOL I'm sure you're in pain Mark, those procedures are no fun, that's for sure!yes Lorrie, it was a Jazzy weekend, this is a 5th Sunday, so she spent it with Grandma Lyn, Papa and her cousin Haley...but we get her again Next weekend, the 1st weekend of May! but we have to bring her home early Sunday, cause it's mothers day... we had a wicked nice peaceful weekend... Mark, I'm glad your wound is healing! we went to our old church today, they now have a new pastor! we all voted on it today after service...His name is Dannie Brayboy. Wicked good Pastor and person...we are still not sure where the Lord wants us, but we are still members of *The Way* and well, it felt good to be there today... back to the dysfunctional world in the morning...ugh.... I'm so glad you had a peaceful weekend Lulu, and that you got to go to your old church and elect the new pastor there. Sounds like you had a good weekend, so that's great!
I got a wonderful surprise Sunday. Just as I was getting ready for Church, my friend Laura called me. I've been trying to get her back to church for two years now. But she was one of the Lord's injured lambs, and wasn't ready to try again. But yesterday she called and asked me what time it started. When I told her, she told me she'd join me there and she did! Jenn started crying as soon as she saw Laura as I wasn't able to tell her in advance that Laura was coming. It was so wonderful to have her there with us and she seemed to really enjoy it. From what she said, I expect that she'll be going regularly from now on. God is just so awesome!!!!

My brother-in-law and his wife drove here from their home in Oklahoma. They went to DFW airport the next morning, parked their car, then flew to New York City. They came back to DFW airport yesterday afternoon, picked up their car, then spent last night with us. They left here about 9 this morning to drive back to their home.
Our son was here yesterday and we went out to an early supper with him. Our daughter and her youngest boy were here at noon today so we took them to lunch. When she left we took a nap. Had a huge thunderstorm about 4 this morning and that's what woke me up.
I'll start on laundry tomorrow. I'm still kinda tired.

Sorry you got woke up by the thunderstorm. Hopefully you can have a nice relaxing day today though.
Not much going on here. My only plans are to make some banana muffins again, and clean the house a little bit.

Today wasn't too relaxing - I had 5 loads of laundry to do. I just wanted to Get It Done!
I have another overnight guest, but she doesn't require much extra work. I'm dogsitting for my friend again. It's the same little dog I watched last fall. I took her to the dog park this morning and got to see some friends there. I'll take her for a walk later on after I feed her. Her owner had to drive to West Texas to attend a funeral.
Beautiful day here.

I made banana muffins but they turned out to dense in texture, then I switched to using an Aunt Jemima recipe where one cup of flour is pancake mix and I liked that better, as it was a more fluffy muffin. There is an apple muffin recipe on the back of the box of the pancake mix. I also made a fast and easy pasta salad, the basics are pasta, miracle whip or mayo and salsa and it tastes better than store bought pasta, then I added extra of what I had which was green olives, extra onion and cheese.ttyl

Back then, with all 5 of them, that meant several loads of laundry a day lol Glad I don't have to do that anymore! That's sweet of you to take care of her dog, and it sounds like it's something you enjoy doing too. That's the one bad thing about having cats...I can't bring in another animal, unless I want to see a fight lol.
It's been raining here for days and is supposed to continue all week. I already feel like Noah

I love the topping. It makes all the difference in the world! Your pasta sounds good too!
Not doing much today as my back isn't appreciating the rain....

Morning everyone. I started typing a post in here yesterday and had to go away from the computer and never made it back. (AND, lost what I'd written! ) So sorry! Hope you all had a good week and will have a nice Mother's Day weekend. Mark, hope all went well at the wound center. What did they tell you? That brings me to two prayer requests: My Uncle Bill went to the doctor last week with a severely infected knee (from a small scratch, but he's had MRSA in that knee previously). The doctor immediately put him in the hospital to start IV antibiotics, in hopes of saving his leg. He will have surgery on Tuesday to clean the wound and evaluate, but apparently there's a good chance he will lose the leg. THEN, his first night in the hospital, he got up to use the restroom, fell, and broke his shoulder (and maybe his arm too). So he's really having a rough time! Please keep him in your prayers -- and most importantly, for his salvation. He did make a profession of faith and was baptized as a little boy, but for many years has had ZERO interest in anything to do with the Lord and now becomes hostile if anyone mentions anything about God. He did see some terrible things serving in the Vietnam War, and I know that can change a person, but as long as he's alive there's always hope for salvation. Also, my daddy. He never passed the kidney stone, although the pain did go away completely for a couple of days, but he went in on Thursday to keep his appointment to have the stone removed. Well, it didn't work - the stone is lodged. They had to put in a stent and he is to return next Thursday for the doctor to try again. In the meantime he had complications from that, causing him to go to the ER on Thursday night and twice to the urologist yesterday. I think things are now under control for the time being, but he's in a good bit of discomfort and I just hope and pray this doesn't become any worse than it already has. He greatly appreciates the prayers, and so do I.

Keeping you and your dad and Uncle Bill in our prayers. Leigh, MRSA is nothing to mess with. I was diagnosed with it in the very beginning of my wound. They put me on a couple of heavy Antibiotics that were strong enough to kill Anthrax. My hopes and prayers go out to your Uncle.. With the proper antibiotics he can kick this. Praying....

I'm so sorry about your Dad and your Uncle, Lorrie. I'll certainly pray for them and will do so as soon as I finish this post.
Finishing it won't take long as I'm totally wiped out from yesterday. It's all I can do to stay awake. Guess I won't get much done today.
I hope you all had a nice mother's day though.

Thank you everyone! I had to make an emergency trip to GA yesterday (Monday). Daddy had to go to the ER around 11 p.m. on Sunday evening and was diagnosed with Acute Renal Failure. His kidneys began functioning again late last night ( thank You Lord ), & they did a paracentesis procedure this morning to draw off fluid from his abdominal cavity and see why he is swelling. I'm here helping my mom and we so appreciate the continued prayers. Love you all!

On wow, Lorrie, I'm so glad he's doing better now! I'll keep praying for him and the rest of your family too!
Praying for your family too Lulu!
And for yours as well Leonard. I appreciate your prayers too!
I don't know what my problem is...whether it's the weather or just a flare up or both... I'm leaning toward both LOL. Guess it really doesn't matter when it comes right down to it though. But somehow I've got to get some stuff done today....

how wicked sad for them people..... well I be home today, took Mace to the doggy park yesterday after work, sat and read some work related stuff. When leaving another dog took me out from behind.....I went down hard on my right leg...which I landed on with my back?!! I believe the calf mussels got over extended...and my angle is sprained...I tried making it to work, but with the very slight heals on my shoes, nope, hurts my calf to walk...so I be going to my chiropractor this morning as soon as she opens. Matt's gonna go with me. she is the only doctor I will go see...lol.... Lorrie, sorry your dad is going through all this medical stuff...it's hard to watch ah? but also glad your able to with your mom and dad when they need you...that is a blessing...praying for both your uncle and dad... Leonard, your painting is beautiful... Cindy, praying for you also....

I'm so sorry you got hurt Lulu! I hope your back wasn't hurt as well, and that you're quickly back to normal.
Thank you for your prayers, I really do appreciate them. I finally get to see my eye doctor tomorrow evening. I'll sure be glad to see him again and see what he has to say.
Not much going on here right now. So I'm going to run and go post on some other threads. See you all later!

I hope your dad is doing better Lorrie, and your Uncle, sister and John as well. I'll keep praying for them all.
How's Ron's brother doing Lulu? Any good news there?
I've got my eye doctor appointment this evening, so I'm looking forward to that. It's finally gotten downright hot here for the last couple of days. It may even hit 80 today! Bruce put in my AC for me last night, bless his heart. This weekend we'll be going back to spring weather though with high's in the mid 50's. gotta love it lol

:birdhouse: Good day! Morning for me but it is better to say good day since I am on west coast time zone. We have had nice weather here for 3 months, some days were to windy but the temperature has been about 70* for a high and about 40* for a low, so it was resting to have good weather, to cold or to hot and I seem to suffer from that. My Bible study I am at is going well, about two weeks now and we are still just in Revelation chapter 3. The group is talking about doing group Skype. I have never done Skype or group Skype before, so I don't know if I would be interested in that or not. Do you know if in group Skype if everyone can see everyone's faces or is it just audio chat?

Hi Anna! I believe that each person chooses whether or not they want their camera on. You can choose just audio if that's what you want, and if everyone else choose video, then you'd see them, but they wouldn't be able to see you, they'd just be able to hear you.
I got wonderful news at my doctor appointment! God has given me another miracle, actually a couple of them! I don't know if you remember but about 6-7 years ago my eye doctor said he expected that I'd be totally blind within 5 years at the most. Of course I prayed as I simply wasn't going to accept that! After praying about it for a couple of weeks, I then forgot all about it. Till my eye doctor brought it up again. After doing dozens of tests, he said he was shocked because my eyes hadn't changed at all since the last time he'd seen me! He took pictures that time and showed me those pictures compared with the ones he took yesterday and sure enough, nothing at all was different! Not only was there no more junk growing on my optical nerve, (that's the most dangerous thing wrong) but the cataracts also hadn't grown at all! On top of that, I didn't even need a new prescription for my glasses! I've needed a new prescription at least every 2-3 years since I was two years old - till now anyway! That too shocked him! My eyes were dry, but he said that I'd done exactly what I should have done and all he wants me to do is to do it again until they were completely better again. (that just involves using a couple of prescription eye drops several times a day each.) God never ceases to amazes me at how good and merciful He is to us!

Thanks for the info Cindy, that was helpful info. Thank the Lord for that situation with your eyes. We have faith in the Lord to heal, and also I believe the prayers people pray over those prayer blankets helps also. I can just picture lovely women praying for people that get prayer blankets, which reminds me that I need to remember that prayer also for people that get prayer blankets, and thanks for that reminder.
