A MUST READ! fresh-hope.com/thread/2161/biblical-labels-millions-people-free
You all won't believe what happened last night! I was asked to lead a funeral service for a co worker of Bruce! You can imagine my reaction when Bruce passed the request on to me! I really don't want to do it, but if the Lord wants me to, I will. They're supposed to call and talk to us about it later today, so I'm talking to Him and trying to decide what my answer should be. By the way, as I was praying for Ron's brother, I thought I should ask how he's doing... How are you and Ron doing with it too Lulu?

Cindy, you would do well at leading a funeral service, I hope you do it, it would be a witness for the Lord, and maybe open some doors.

Thanks for the update Lulu, I'll continue to pray for him then.
Thanks for the encouragment. I'm still not sure what the Lord wants me to do, but have a feeling I'll know soon...
Bruce and I went to church yesterday and again really enjoyed the service and sermon! This pastor is so full of life and so obviously full of God's love that it just pours out of him. He's so excited about God's Word, that he makes others excited to hear about it. It's really great!

Praying for you, Cindy. Praying for Leigh and John.
This has been a stressful day. A friend from Sunday School found out that her daughter died yesterday. I don't know any details yet. My friend had her 80th birthday on March 27 and both of her daughters were here for her birthday.
Pertussis (whooping cough) is increasing. My granddaughter had to go to the doctor for a pertussis test today before she could go back to school. She's been coughing a lot but doesn't have whooping cough.
About 5 pm we heard reports of severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes near the town where our son lives. The storms passed over them and they are OK.
I did too much yard work and I'm so sore.
OK, that's enough. I'm tired and I'm going to bed.

Wow Margie, you have a lot going on there in TX. So sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. What a sad thing, especially for her mother to have to go through. :-( Speaking of pertussis, I did a bit of research on that last month, trying to figure out what might be going on with my sister and her lung problem & the terrible cough that she's had since October. Pertussis is definitely on the rise. A nurse friend of mine had it a few years ago and was totally surprised to learn her diagnosis! I'm thankful that the vaccine is included as part of the tetanus booster. Glad to hear your son is safe from the storms. Take some pain medicine and get some rest tonight!! Lulu, good to know that Robert is doing as well as possible through his treatments. Maybe he will go to church with you if you keep asking. Anna, hope all is well with you this week. Cindy, I agree that you'd be a perfect person to do a funeral, with your knowledge of the scriptures, your close walk with God, and your compassionate heart. That is great that you got to go to church and enjoyed it. I've heard so much negative over the last 10-15 years about how churches in America are in decline and that our preachers don't really preach truth anymore -- but in my role on the pastor search committee we are now going through pastors' resumes and listening to their sermons online (in fact, it feels like that's all I've done for the last week!) -- and I am happy to report that there are still lots of good Bible-preaching ministers out there. All of us on the committee have been very impressed with the quality of the sermons we are hearing, and that is so encouraging to me. Even though our church is going through a split, those of use who are left are excited about our future and feel like God isn't finished with us yet. Cindy, thank you too for the additional information on the probiotic you're taking. I looked it up on Amazon also and you're right -- lots of great reviews on there! I haven't had a chance to pass along the info to my friend, but will try and remember to do that next time we talk. It might be good for John to take also, although right now I don't know if he'd be willing to add anything more. That prednisone is about to drive him crazy with the terrible side effects. Oh well, guess I'd better get going (to bed!). Nighty night!

Bbbbrrr it is chilly outside Hi! ladies. I have been listening to Bible teachings every night on-line. Last night the subject was about forgiveness, and also why to never verbally put down another Christian, and why to repent of that. So that is nice also because there is chat that goes on at the same time, men and women chat and everyone is respectful of one another. Not much else is new, just doing the usual house cleaning, a woman's work is never done, my home is never clean but I work at keeping it straightened out as best as possible. Something I plan to do soon is to get some flowers off of the tree like bushes here and dry the flowers because I make tea from them, my favorite tea. Have a blessed day, looking forward to soon and very soon we are going to be with the Lord.

Is it the younger generation that's getting it because they won't get the immunizations?
I'm so sorry to hear about your friends daughter. That's always such a hard thing to bear, as children are supposed to out live their parents, not the other way around....
It's been raining here for the last couple of days...seems like forever lol

That's wonderful to hear about the good pastors you're hearing lately! I have to admit that I was totally and completely shocked to find such a fantastic pastor in my own little town. I most certainly didn't expect it since most here are into the prosperity gospel or some other false teaching. I guess praying for all the churches and pastors here over the last year helped, as this pastor is new to the church and not the one that had been there for years before. That's why I hadn't even checked it out before as I knew from before that it wasn't the best, but boy is it different now! Bruce really liked it. He kept saying things like, "that's true" and "amen" and through the sermon, LOL
Yikes, prednisone can be a life saver or at least seem like one sometimes,, but it sure has a lot of very nasty side effects, that's for sure! Part of me never wants to take it again, and another part wishes I could... but that's only when I'm in the frame of mind that I'd do anything to get rid of the pain for a short time at least LOL I know enough now about that med that I'll never take it for any length of time again, God willing. I'd say no more then two weeks at the maximum, and even that's pushing it fir me. I didn't realize he was taking that, but now that I do, I'll add that to my prayers for him, starting now. I'll just say and extra one for today since I already prayed for him.

I wish I could do a better job on my house too, but that's something that's on the "impossible' list now. Oh well, it could be worse.
Well I'd better get busy. Did you guys get a chance to read Amazing! Could You Say This? That's still on my heart today too.... probably will be for awhile....

Lulu, so happy that you have had a couple of days of vacation, that it's a Jazzy weekend, and that your housemate got a job!!! Yay!!!
Cindy, that is nice that Laura was able to stop in for a visit; nothing like a friend to brighten our day!
Your question about pertussis being on the rise -- I think it is partly from children who aren't vaccinated, BUT also the vaccines we got as children aren't really life-long, so we really should be getting boosters (and we are, if we get the tetanus booster every ten years as recommended, as it also includes pertussis and diphtheria vaccine). Even then, apparently some people can still get it. Kind of scary!
Kelley, glad you stopped by and happy to hear that you have some freelance work at the hospital; that sounds perfect for you!
Anna, what kind of tea do you like to make from your dried flowers? I totally agree that a woman's work is never done, haha! Mine surely isn't!
Well I had a new experience today (which was actually yesterday, now that it's past midnight). I helped judge a spelling bee at the elementary school where I've been tutoring this school year. It was a lot of fun, and the children all tried hard and did their best. There were three of us judges (one to call out the words, and two to say, "That is correct" or "That is not correct."). The teacher in charge (who is a member at our church -- that's how I got involved) gave us a light breakfast at 8:45 before it started, then the spelling bee was finished by 9:45 so the teacher told us, "Now wait here while I go get your lunch." Lunch?! Did somebody say lunch???
She returned in five minutes with a huge tray of lasagna, and another huge tray with the freshest, most beautiful salad full of veggies and fruit, along with rolls. So we had two meals before 10:30 a.m.! Then she gave us each a little gift basket with some candy and a few items from the school. She said they really appreciate volunteers and love having cross-cultural community involvement!
So that was a nice day.

Good for Kel and her husband for being able to do freelance work.
It reminded me of this young man and woman that I watched a few of their videos because they sailed their boat to the Bahamas and motored their dingy to islands near by to explore them. One island was pig island, where pigs only live on the island, another island had rock where a a strong force of air blew up through some rocks, and at another island they were able to dive under the rock and end up in a cave where they could stand up and breathe air, so that was interesting to see, but what I want to say about them was how they freelanced for money. Watching their you-tube videos is free but they ask for money. Once a month they have a video where they answer peoples questions about themselves, (boring lol) but anyways they do that to ask for money and you would think that would not work but it does. They had over 240 people sign up to give them money, what they want is 5 dollars to watch a video, but even one dollar will do, and only one video a week will be made. I have seen others on you tube that do something similar to make money, there are some people that will just throw their money away for nothing much in return.

Good morning all! Sorry I didn't get to this thread yesterday, but it took me over two hours to do another thread and I ran out of time. that seems to happen to me a lot for some reason....Lulu, so happy that you have had a couple of days of vacation, that it's a Jazzy weekend, and that your housemate got a job!!! I hadn't thought about folks not getting the booster... Most folks here do since the majority of the men are in construction, and the doctors, well, at least our doctor, always makes sure we're up to date on that. I hate that shot cause it always makes my arm hurt. I guess most folks do lol. But they give it to me anyway. I still think they should give me a lollipop or a sticker or something....
That's so neat that she had all that food for you guys and a gift too! Wow! I dont' think I ever got anything for all the years I helped out at the schools. But I figured with 5 kids going to school, it was only fair to help out now and then lol.Good for Kel and her husband for being able to do freelance work.

I've never been comfortable asking for money, but then I'm in a different kind of "work" then most other people. To me, since all I do is share what the Lord teaches me or articles that say it better then I can, it just doesn't seem right to ask for money when God gives it to me freely and asks us to share with each other. Know what I mean? I know others think of it like a pastor is worth their wages, but I'm not a pastor. Even if I was a man and a pastor though, I still wouldn't feel right asking for money because to me it shows a lack of faith in God's provision. I know that God will lay it on people's hearts to contribute if He chooses to do so, and if they choose to obey, then that's great. If they don't, that's ok too, as the Lord will always provide one way or another. But it can sure get stressful at times so I can understand when we can't stand the waiting anymore and ask anyway Been there, done that... You know, I've been seeing a lot of Eagles lately, both in real life and in pictures for some reason... there was one in my yard the other week even!Lots of rain here today, but no hail. Maybe we'll have sunshine tomorrow. We had a beautiful weekend and Monday, but looks like rain today...or at least the possibility....102 degrees in places here today...90 degrees after work at 4pm in our back yard..... Wow! Amazing! It was in the low 70's here on Sunday and Monday, so like summer for us! Right now though the temp is only 45 and it's almost 11 am! It's supposed to get back close to 70 on Thursday though, but only for that one day.
Hope you're all having a great day!

Wow those are warm temperatures for this time of year for where you live Lulu. It will be 77* here.
Ron had to drive to the Tucson today to get some new eyeglasses, his old glasses have a crack in the lenses, so he will be gone all day, but I have a lot to do to keep busy and around 4 o' clock I can take my laptop into the shed where I am doing work everyday now for awhile and I can listen to Bible teaching there. Today I think one of the teaches might die as he is in the hospital with a heart problem. I was thinking about what teacher Michael said yesterday and it was what I had been thinking about before he mentioned it, which is that when a person is young they want to make money but when a person gets older they think back on their life and what they remember from their life is what the Lord taught them. That is Christians, the world just remembers money probably. So yes Leigh I am working with the mesquite tree flowers and drying them and putting them in jars for tea. I have to gather enough flowers in about two weeks to last me for a year of tea, so that is what I am working on drying the flowers in the shed and taking my laptop there to listen to Bible teaching and stopping to chat also with other Christians. I hope everyone is doing fine, ttyl.

Hi Anna! I was thinking something along those lines yesterday too... I was kind of wishing that we could have like a second chance after we got older and had finally listened to the Lord and were trying to live His way. You know how even the unsaved will say that they wish they knew what they do now when they were much younger? Well, I was thinking how differently I'd live my life, and how very differently I'd raise my children if I could go back and do it all over again. Even if I'd been raised in a godly home and paid attention, I still wouldn't have known all that I know now, so I'd love to have a second chance to do it all over and see if I could do a better job. (then I told the Lord that the only part I really didn't particularly want to do over was the actual giving birth part ) It's one of the things I look forward to the Millennium for - to be able to see people who still have a sin nature, (but no Satan) raising their children in a godly way, and what it would look like. Especially since all of society will be run by Jesus. It will be wonderful to see! (although I realize that many of the children will still choose not to follow God or love Him)
Looks like proboard wanted more money, so they removed our url until I paid them again. I wish they would have at least warned me or something. Oh well, it's paid now, so hopefully well be back to normal shortly.

Good day Cindy, I sure can understand the wishing that we knew back in our past when we were younger what we know today now that we are older. You said before that all your grown children were Christians, so you have been a blessing to them. I know they need to learn some things just like we did, but they will get there.
I did not know you had to pay proboard money, how much money do they ask for?
If anyone has to buy a car battery, it may be much cheaper to buy one on-line than in town, good to check that out first, we just saved ourselves 60 dollars by doing that.
Have a nice day, tty all later.

Well the basic board itself is "free", they just get you for everything you add to it, including if you use your own domain name like we do. (our domain name is "Fresh-Hope.com") So they kind of get you coming and going on some things like this since you first have to own the domain name, then renew it every year with the domain, and then you have to pay proboards in order to use it! Pretty good racquet for all concerned huh? But it's not that much, it's only $14 for proboards.
That's interesting, I'll have to let Bruce know about the car batteries... thanks!
Thanks Daniel, that's nice!
Got to run, as usual lol
