Man it was cold last night I shut my window and door at 5pm last night still light outside I think safe to say Fall is here to say in SO CAL LOL!

I only have time for a quick note as my oldest son has already called this morning. His attempt at staying away from drugs failed. It was only 29 degrees when he called, and he'd slept in his car. Sadly, I don't even know if the sober house will take him back now. They're pretty strict about things. But now I have to get ready to go to PT.

I am thinking the drugs today are a LOT LOT more potent,
and addicting, than in the 60's.
I think I mentioned how as a teen and young person,
I was super sinful,
but I thought I was so smart and superior!
I was a 60's hippie.....
what a sad, sad horrible joke!
So of course,
I ended up doing all manner of drugs for close to 10 years.
However, although at first they seemed so fun,
'made me so superior'
to all the fuddy duds....
That soon turned into nightmares.
First I became super paranoid!
I knew people did not like me
I feared the police would soon come and take me to prison etc.
Well, as bad as that was...
it got worse!
LSD quickly became a nightmare!
I would actually throw up before taking it.
You'd think I would have had a 'clue' and some sense
to
oh I don't know....
not take it????
and of course there were a plethora of other drugs,
Hash, peyote, etc. etc.
Nevertheless, I was able to quit
for good, for ever,
Because, the horror was worse,
than any so called 'fun' of the high!
But I don't think it is so easy to go cold turkey today!!!
Which is not to say it cannot be done.
I think God was working and helping me,
by making it waaaay way way more miserable
than 'enjoyable'
(sleeping in a car,
how fun is that?)
And if I had been in the Word,
in church etc.
I think I would have quit much much sooner
But nevertheless, to God be the glory.
In a way, your son's
fall
back into drugs,
might yet, be God working in his life.
Sometimes, people have to go all the way
to the bottom
before they really want to look up!
I know it makes zero sense,
to someone who never took drugs
of any kind.
And rightly so, it is so stupid!
But Satan is so clever!
the devil tells you:
you will feel better,
no really you will feel amazing,
you will be on a higher level,
you are a superior human 2.0
you have a lot of friends
and on and on.
And if you lean toward depression,
sadness, worry, stress, no purpose in life
etc.
Well, and you try it once
you know,
just to see for yourself
And lo and behold
It was amazing.....
For a very very short time!
But it was also hiding:
much evil, sin, degradation,
fears, ( how can you go on without
the drugs tho???) etc.
You will be back in grey, dull,
hurt and pain.
But no...I mean maybe in a way
but the drugs never cured the underlying problem
You need the Lord, you need copious amounts of His Word,
you need fellowship of other believers,
proper food, something to take care of ( a pet?) etc.
And yes, you may need to go to a place to
detox
But if they do not take him back,
God may provide something even better.
Still it has to be just another painful
blow to your heart.
I still believe, that even IF
a person was about to die of an OD
that Jesus could still
come and truly save them,
in their last few minutes of life.
Jesus may not do that often,
but we did see Him do that with one of the thieves
on the cross.

I still believe, that even IF
a person was about to die of an OD
that Jesus could still
come and truly save them,
in their last few minutes of life.
Jesus may not do that often,
but we did see Him do that with one of the thieves
on the cross.
