Well, I've got my next surgery date, it's the day before Thanksgiving! They were going to change it but I said it was fine because that way either the kids have to make Thanksgiving dinner if they come to our house this year, but I think this is their year to go to Bob's parents house anyway. I just want it done and over with, we can always celebrate Thanksgiving later.  I asked them if I could just go home after surgery and not stay overnight. The most they were willing to say was that they'd assess the situation after the surgery and take my request into account and decide for sure then. They said considering how well I did this time, if it looked as good when the second one was over, they "might" let me go home. I'll just leave it up to the Lord. I know He will do what's best anyway!
We picked up our wills and durable powers of attorney and living wills from the lawyer yesterday. He keeps all the originals in his safe, so we don't have to worry about someone trying to use a power of attorney when it's not needed. They have to prove to him that we can't handle our own affairs before he will release those to them, and he will contact doctors first to make sure they've seen us and agree. I know Jenn wouldn't use it anyway, unless it was really necessary, but it's a good system so we're fine with it.
I also realized that I'm really not as "done" as I thought I was. I haven't done the application for fuel assistance yet. I forgot they'd already sent it to me. Not sure yet when I'm going to do it, except that it will have to be fairly soon. But I'll let you all know.

Well just got my paper work done with my brother remember I told you if something happen to him and his wife I get custory of the my nephew and niece if they underage they can keep getting educated at Cathoic school and raised in Cathoic church they like that church and Pastor I am on emergency list if they can't get hold of them something happen I be next to kin notice I think don't think my brother trust his mother in law to a point

Yeah for Thanksgiving going be my brother and his family and me my parents we going have Nice Quiet Family dinner with no hassle this year I make pumpkin pies we may get one of Holiday meal from Stater Bros mom probably fix veggie tray speaking of that luckly for me I have entire Thanksgiving week of going be quiet week for me
BTW I ready vote it I told my parents yesterday that ballot box is my job outside so we went down the voting with mail in ballot we are done dont bother me I am going watch Election returns on Tuesday November 5 LOL! going be alllllll on channels

Hope you're all having a good start to your weekend. Today is house cleaning day for me. My cats are already letting me know that they want to be fed.... they drive me nuts lol. I was wondering the other day whether or not animals would be able to talk to us in heaven. I'm beginning to think that they just might be able to since Satan, disguised as a serpent spoke to Eve, and that didn't seem to surprise her in the least. Wouldn't that be neat if the animals could really talk to us?

I think they know when owner are happy or sad I had a cat that knew when I was down depressed he cheer me up I have a dog that knew that I knew cheering up he come on the couch want cuddle they prove our pets know our moods they want cheer us up

I am convinced our ginger cat does 'speak'
to us...albeit in a limited way.
She for sure does have different 'vocalizations'.
For example:
If she wants to go out
her cry actually sounds similar to :
owwwwwtthhh
However if she wants to eat
she makes sounds like:
Aaaaaaat ooooood
I think that ( and others)
are because,
I use the same words always over and over
I ask:
Do you want:
Cat food?
Or do you want to go:
out?
Leonard however uses different words with her all the time.
But from 3 years of Dog training
years ago with our Airedale terrier
The instructor, emphasized using the 'same term'
for each command!!!!
But the funniest thing,
happened with her about a week ago.
It is starting to get colder and rainier here
so Bob ( our 1/2 Maine Coon cat)
was on my recliner with me.
Clone was NOT happy about that
because most of the time he insists on being outside,
so she has me all to her self.
Soooooo, she hopped up on the table right next to my chair.
It is right by the door to go out.
She looked at me
and then very determinedly at Bob
And truly
it sounded exactly like she said:
Bob out!!!!
She looked at him
and then the door
when she said that!
I just laughed
because it really really sounded exactly like that.
And I know, she thought he had over extended his time in the house!!!!
So, I just think,
most people do not even consider
an animal might be actually and truly
saying something to them!!!
Thus, they do not spend time
trying to work with communicating with them.
But here is something I pulled up:
Cats can understand between 25 and 50 words,
(again, I think that depends on the intelligence
of each individual cat.....
plus, I suspect 50 is NOT the top amount...
I would not be surprised if it were really 100 or even 200 words
IF one was working at it...
but rather most folks are not
working with their pet,
in a consistent manner to foster 'communication'.
Like Leonard....he is just a 'word smith'
and he just like to 'play' with words,
not exactly 'train' the cats for communication.)
Of course that is just my 'speculation'.
but their understanding of language is different from humans:
Association:
Cats associate words or sounds with objects, actions, and people.
Recognition:
Cats can recognize their names,
especially if used consistently.
They can also recognize words associated
with specific actions or routines,
like "treat", "come", and "bedtime".
Tone and emotion:
Cats are more attuned to the tone and emotion of our voices than the actual words.
Response:
Cats respond to vocalization, gestures, and even expressions.
They mostly respond to their humans' voices through orienting behavior,
such as ear movement and head movement.
Communication:
Cats don't think in words as humans do.
( I am not so sure about this....
again, I don't think most people have the time
or even think it is worth it,
to 'train' their cat(s).
However, we do know of one donkey in scripture
that actually DID think in words
like a human
soooooo????
But in Heaven...  )
Instead, they use their body parts and positioning to express themselves.
Cats' vocal tracts prevent them from vocalizing human language exactly.
Instead, they modify their "meow" vocalization to mimic certain human words.

Our cats can discern our car from a long ways off...
they know Leonard is coming home in the car,
way before anyone can see Leonard driving the car home.
However, they are there waiting (for him)a good minute,
to even a couple of minutes before he gets home.

I never ever heard from her before!
I was asking her:

The boy cats never throw up

So I often say:

I agree with what you said about cats understanding words. I know mine do too. Like you, I use the same words all the time and so does Bruce and they obviously understand what we're saying. I'm pretty sure I shared this years ago, but it's something I'll never forget. It was a week after Bruce got home from the hospital after his bad motorcycle accident, and some friends had stopped by to see him. They were also cat lovers and fell in love with our cats. Chloe was wandering around the living room like she didn't know what to do with herself. She had watched me pick up all her toys before our company came over and something told me she wanted one of them. So I simply said, "Chloe, if you want your ball, get it out of your toy box." She looked up at me as I spoke and then instantly turned around, walked over to their toy box and pulled out her favorite ball! You'd have thought she'd grown wings and flew away,the way our friends reacted!  I told them the cats were just like my kids, they had no problem taking their toys out of the box, but rarely put any back in the box!
I almost forgot:  Happy Birthday John!
