It is true it is hostage situation Israeli military: Fighting continues in 22 areas of southern Israel The Israeli military says fighting is continuing in 22 locations in southern Israel. In a statement, the army's chief spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said, "there is no community in southern Israel where we do not have forces." He said Israel has regained control in some communities but the army is still conducting patrols to make sure they are safe. Hagari also confirmed ongoing hostage situations in two towns — Ofakim and Beeri. "There are special forces there with senior commanders and live fire fights are going on there," he said. Hagari said that Israel was striking targets in Gaza from the air and that ground operations were imminent. He did not elaborate but said an additional four divisions of troops, as well as tanks, were being deployed to the already heavily fortified area. www.dw.com/en/hamas-israel-fighting-escalates-in-gaza-day-one/live-67026482

Netanyahu's comments in a televised address mark his first since Hamas launched a major, multi-front attack on Israel at daybreak on Saturday. He ordered a call-up of reservists and promised that Hamas would “pay a price that it hasn't known until now.” At least 40 people killed in Israel Hamas carried out an unprecedented, multi-front attack on Israel on Saturday, firing hundreds of rockets as dozens of fighters infiltrated the heavily fortified border in several locations and catching the country off-guard on a major holiday. You know how busy Tel Viv right well not anymore right now Buzzing Tel Aviv’s streets empty, as Israel-Hamas conflict escalates Tel Aviv, Israel — The party’s on hold in a city that prides itself on its vibrant culture and nightlife. As Israel and Palestinian group Hamas trade blows in the latest chapter of their rapidly escalating conflict, a surreal scene unfolded in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening. The streets and beaches of the normally buzzing city were empty save for a few bewildered tourists. A Swiss couple wandered around, confused. “Is everything closed because it’s Saturday, or because it’s wartime?” one of them asked. They wanted to find a spot to grab a quick bite near Jaffa and were not sure why everything was so eerily quiet. In front of a closed cafe in the south of the city, a few Israelis sat together, smoking. “I’ve got to get some air and see people with all this stress,” said one to the other. They did not seem to know each other — they were strangers brought t www.aljazeera.com/features/2023/10/7/buzzing-tel-avivs-streets-empty-as-conflict-escalates

OH now getting crazyyy Hamas surprise attack out of Gaza stuns Israel and leaves hundreds dead in fighting, retaliation JERUSALEM (AP) — Under cover of a barrage of rockets, dozens of Hamas militants broke out of the blockaded Gaza Strip and into nearby Israeli towns, killing hundreds and abducting others in an unprecedented surprise early morning attack during a major Jewish holiday Saturday. A stunned Israel said it is now at war with Hamas and launched airstrikes in Gaza, vowing to inflict an “unprecedented price.” In an assault of startling breadth, Hamas gunmen rolled into as many as 22 locations outside the Gaza Strip, including towns and other communities as far as 15 miles (24 kilometers) from the Gaza border. In some places, they roamed for hours, gunning down civilians and soldiers as Israel’s military scrambled to muster a response. Gunbattles continued well after nightfall, and militants held hostages in standoffs in two towns. Israel’s national rescue service said at least 200 people were killed and 1,100 wounded, making it the deadliest attack in Israel in decades. At least 198 people in the Gaza Strip have been killed and at least 1,610 wounded in Israeli strikes, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. apnews.com/article/israel-palestinians-gaza-hamas-rockets-airstrikes-tel-aviv-11fb98655c256d54ecb5329284fc37d2

On Sunday, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah said it launched mortar attacks into the occupied Shebaa Farms in solidarity with Hamas; Israel said it responded with artillery. The escalation comes as expectations grow that Israel will launch a ground invasion of Gaza after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to turn the besieged Palestinian enclave into a “deserted island”. Even Germany getting tired of Hamas stuff Germany reviews aid for Palestinians as Scholz assures Netanyahu of support Germany is reviewing its hundreds of millions of euros of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories, Development Minister Svenja Schulze said Sunday. She said although Germany had been careful to check that the donor money was only used for peaceful ends, the nature of the current attack by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas marked a "terrible turning point." "We will now review our entire engagement for the Palestinian territories," Schulze said. Germany would discuss with Israel how development projects in the region could best be served, but she added it was also in the country's interest for people in the Palestinian territories to be able to live in stability in the long term. www.dw.com/en/israel-updates-netanyahu-says-war-will-take-time/live-67030177

Well check out headlines right now Tel Aviv’s residents start venturing out The Israeli city wakes up from its shock and confusion, making timid efforts to confront a new reality. As the fighting between the Israeli army and Hamas rolled into its second day, Tel Aviv began to wake up from its daze. Biking through the streets was eerie, and people looked at one another with fear and even veiled suspicion on their faces. While beaches and public spaces remained mostly empty, a few residents could be seen walking their dogs, going for a bike ride or just taking a walk. Curious people stopped and gathered around crews working to clear rubble from the side of a road. Two buildings had been struck by a Hamas rocket barrage on Saturday night, injuring four people. www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/8/tel-avivs-resident-start-venturing-out
