Anna: Here in Oregon, you never see an umbrella.... ( unless it is someone visiting from another state). Even IF you had an umbrella, it would be basically useless, the wind would turn it inside out, and blow it away within 1/2 a minute or less.
Mostly tho, we have such gentle rains they are nice to walk in.

I would think that the area where you live would be the first to lead the way for others to follow, for boosters.
Listened to Michael talk last night, talked about war, said we have only 22 days left, talked about the ancient ones here now and talked about the power of faith.
I don't feel well, I don't know if it is from the heat or from old age, maybe both, I will see if I feel better this winter, if it is the Lord's will I survive the troubling times to soon come.

That so cool about the cookout I have a feeling we get cooler weather now we going have mini heat wave after that I see long waited 70s degree weather in SO CAL we hope LOL! yeah it cool last night I shut the windows and door at 8pm last night Fall is coming to SO CAL pretty soon can't wait Happiness is wrap myself up with Bates Mill GW throw blanket watching college football from 9am to 8pm pst on Saturday LOL! Yeah, I love being here out in the country. Not many neighbors, but those we do have are really wonderful. God has surely blessed us when He gave us this house in this neighborhood. Did you see the news on accuweather that the world has now had the hottest summer ever recorded? Enjoy the neighborhood cook out, sounds like fun.
Nice to see an update video about the dog Storm that went to the stadium and found herself a seat, she looks like my dog and she looks like an older dog also.
I have gotten some good enough deals lately buying food from amazon but today I was comparing prices with azure standard, which they are usually about the same price, so I was thinking it would be easier to order from amazon, but amazon jumped the prices way higher now than azure standard, so I will be going to the semi truck to get my food order. That's funny because I was doing the same thing yesterday and couldn't find any food that was cheaper than what I get in the stores. Wait...I take that back. i did find one thing, but that store limited you to one a month, so it wasn't worth getting. I was trying to find things I buy regularly that I could add to my subscribe and save. I wound up having to add non food items. Well, the people mostly only come in the summer...as soon as it starts raining, they are out of here. Oh that is very good news about Chris! prayerfully it will be for a VERY long long time, until it has to happen again...if ever!!
I also have Amazon Prime but I don't know about the Subscribe and Save?? Where is that? Is that like you are on a automatic buying? or???
So Devon is homeschooling. AND I will continue to do my online Bible study here on FH
ONLY some days it may be a bit shorter or longer depending on what Devon and I will be working on.
I absolutely want to keep doing my Bible study... and I don't know if many here read it or not, but if you do...this is just to let you know
I may have bitten off more than I can chew!!! LOLOL
Oh well, nothing like starting a 'teaching' career at getting 'close' to 80!!!
I will be 78 in Oct. soooooo 80 is not 'that' far away..... especially since it 'seems' sometimes, like time has speeded up...
I actually expect to have some of my Bible study to be longer and some days shorter just so anyone who might read it...wonders what is going on with that?
Today, I am bring Devon a bunch of books and material to see what his preferences are to start. Here are a few of the choices:
The Physics of Einstein: Black Holes, Time Travel, Distant Starlight, E=mc^2 by Dr. Jason Lisle ( Christian astrophysicist)
Traced: Human DNA's Big Surprise by Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson ( Harvard trained PHD geneticist...also a Christian )
Several Bible study options by Dr. John MacArthur
quantum particles by Dr. Jason Lisle
perhaps this semester for music: an in depth look and study of 'real' hymnal it is a 'real' book hymnal LOL ( I actually have one...yep, a real antique relic).
geology: radiometric dating by Dr. Jason Lisle
and so on.
Oh and art history: I may start with Michelangelo
I figure his work at the Seaside aquarium, could serve as either marine biology or business or both.
We start tomorrow.
Literature will be Christian fiction entirely!
Oh and maybe, since he started Spainish last year..
( and I had one year a LOOOOOOOOng time ago)
we could probably do that online.
If anyone has some other ideas, please let me know :)
Sounds great for Devon Barbara! God honors those who we call senior citizens, and the older they are the more God honors them. So with all your experience, which is often better than studying something from a book, I'm sure you'll be a fantastic teacher for him!
Don't worry about your Bible study. Do what you can when you can. Writing it down here isn't what's important. What's important is that you continue to spend time with the Lord in His Word daily on your own. The Bible study here was originally just to help you get in the habit of that.
For Chris, the fluid he already has inside has to first be gone completely before he can really start having a life again. And right now it's still a big problem. I'm doing all I can to prevent the doctors from making him have surgery to get rid of the fluid as it doesn't have good results and has lots of bad side effects. Sadly, because he's been doing a lot lately, like cleaning his house, playing games with friends (like cards and chess) etc. he's more swollen than before. I'm just praying it will go down soon.
Subscribe and Save is great! Although you do have to be careful to only buy things that you need and would be buying elsewhere if you couldn't get it on Amazon. What I do is look up a product, like cat food on Amazon and see if it's eligible for Subscribe and Save. That's easy to tell because where you look to see the price will show Subscribe and Save or one time purchase. Here's what it looks like:
Than I look up the same product at the grocery store or Walmart of wherever I normally buy it from. If it's less on Amazon, I subscribe to it and save money! By the way, you can subscribe to have something delivered as often as every 2 weeks or as little as every 6 months, and you can skip it whenever you want to or cancel it altogether. Basically, the more you subscribe to, the more you save. Here's a link to a page that explains how it works and how you do it:
www.amazon.com/b?node=15283820011&ref=sns_myd_learn_moreJust to make it easier, if you're doing a search for something, on the left hand side of the page that comes up with the stuff you're searching for, you'll see a list of ways to refine your search. Close to the bottom of that list is "subscribe and save eligible" so if you click that your search will only give you stuff you can use subscribe and save on.When I lived in Florida people used to be out in the rain and walking around and I did also, didn't think anything about it and when I moved to Arizona and was talking to some people and a few sprinkles and they were running for cover, that surprised me and I noticed others doing that also. I like to walk in the rain. My female dog used to like to play in water, then I got her a male friend and she saw that he used to run and hide when I ran water from the hose and then she had second thoughts after seeing that and then she also did not go near water after seeing him shy away from water. What part of Florida did you live in? I lived in the panhandle (Fort Walton Beach and Shalimar) as a child until I was 19. My dad was in the air force and was transferred to Eglin AFB there. I was born in Tucson and lived there till I was 9, and moved back there in 1981 for a year, (that's where Jennifer was born) then moved to Salt Lake.Good morning, another day to rejoice in the Lord.
Going to be hot temps here for another 4 days, over 100F. Yikes! We're under a heat advisory yet again. We were yesterday too, which didn't make the trip into the city much fun. Thankfully we do have AC in the car, but it had a hard time overcoming the heat. Hope you can stay cool!

Our weather here in Seaside has been more or less the same... only less rain for the summer than usual.
Today the high will be 64, so that is about right for here.
But Sunday is to go to 71...but that is the highest in the next 10 days..
BUT... no real rain in the forecast. We have had a few days recently of a 'little' misting; and maybe 2 days of 'lite' very lite showers.
So yesterday was the 1st day of homeschooling. I think it went well... it's kind of like learning as I go
But I included last night's 2 hour Bible study with Pastor Chris as part of his Bible subject study....
And then this morning, I read the notes Devon took and the notes I took
and created a pop Bible study quiz.
I wrote two different ones... One was with MY answers to the questions I posed and his which are blank for Devon to fill in.
So my plan for THAT subject today is for him to take the quiz and then I will give him my answers...
And on this particular subject, he will grade his own paper.
The reason being is I think it is important for Devon to honestly ( between he and God) to judge
A) his note taking and comprehension of Pastor Chris Bible study
B)his honest measure of his true commitment
( I personally believe it is high....even his willingness to leave his friends at school and do home schooling, for a teen, is, I think, a pretty big commitment...
But only he can know for sure.
But....I also left a section for him to give himself bonus points.... for noting points I MISSED lolol
Other subjects we may talk about, his progress or I will just grade... as I go...
like I said, this is a real learning process for me.
And it is a truism, a good way to learn, is to teach someone else.
I have always been a serious note taker and generally have good comprehension
But.... I cannot spell for beans
AND
I always hated math sooooooooo
Yesterday for about 1/2 hour
Devon became the teacher
and taught me something in math
( which I never bothered to learn or was not taught) Something about 'powers'
like what is 3 to the 4th power/
He is a good, patient teacher and very thoughtful if I did not get it he considered other ways to explain it, so I might understand the concepts.
And this was day one:
we did some art history some Physics we are going thru a lot of Dr. Jason Lisle's books ( the Christian young earth astrophysicist)
we also are going to do at least one of Jason's refuting 420 'so-called' errors, contradiction etc in the Bible ( each day and why the critics of the Bible are wrong...what logic errors they make and so on.
Oh and my first glaring mistake....which I will correct today I did not start school with prayer
But I learned!
and other such studies... day one is done onto day 2

Hi
So pleased Devon is being homeschooled, that is so great. The devil seems to have been let off the leash a bit more, so keeping our kids safe is so important.
Glad Chris is doing better that is realy great news.
My daughter needs Gods help to write her university/ college application over the next month, please could I ask for prayer over that? She is a really smart kid but humbly needs Gods help for this.

Wow Barbara, that sounds like the very best school day any kid could have! I wish you were teaching my grandkids too! (I'm serious!) I'll be praying for you all!
Marlene, I'm sorry, I didn't see your post from yesterday until now. I think you posted while I was still writing my reply. I tend to start to write a reply, think of something else and go research it and then come back and finish my reply lol. So I have the reply page open for quite awhile sometimes. I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. My guess would be that some of it may be caused by the heat, even if you're in an air conditioned room. But regardless of what's causing it, God is in control, so I'll just ask Him to heal you and make you feel better!
Steve, praying for your daughter as well!

Went out this morning to the gas station and got propane to cook with, gasoline is 4$ a gallon now here. It was nice to be able to buy something to drink and not just have water everyday. Been listening to Bible study at night, enjoy that and so do others comment so, one was about prayer, it was helpful the way he talked about it and the other talk was about the difference in the Lord's comings, between the rapture and the second coming of Christ, that was written out on a chalkboard to see. Thanks for the prayer I am feeling better. That reminds me also from another teacher who talked about faith, said about how the law of faith works. Romans 3:27 Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

Today is another day to stay inside as it's raining like crazy!
I'm glad you're feeling better Marlene!
We had a good time at the cookout for our neighborhood yesterday. This is the second year we've done it and we had a lot more people this time. I imagine that we'll get more folks every year the Lord tarries. Hmmm maybe I'll let everyone know they can come to my house for a bible study if they want to know why the world has gone crazy!
Here's the latest article about how today's news appears to tie in with Bible prophecy. fresh-hope.com/thread/8946/preparing-antichrist
Sorry, I have to run again as I'm running very late today. Have to do shopping!

There is a christian woman, Lydia, who I have watched her you tube channel for years. In the year 2024 she plans to travel in her RV from Florida to Alaska, she is waiting for her old dog to die before she can travel. I say prayer that if it is the Lord's will that I would be able to also travel with that caravan of women to Alaska. I also would have to be without my old dog at that time, I could not leave her behind and also could not travel with her as she is to old to travel also. Right now I do not have the money to be able to do a travel somewhere but I know if it is the will of the Lord then the Lord will give me the money and I would be able to go and so enjoy that.

Yesterday, Devon's mom, ( our daughter) got a letter from Devon's old High school, where over 5 teachers nominated him for the National Honor Society. One requirement is to have a GPA of 'at least'a 3.5
The timing of this seemed a little ... I don't know, strange to me. NOW? they nominate him now....??? Now, that he has dropped out and opted for homeschooling?
Ha! It may just be my tendency, to sometimes see a conspiracy, lurking around every rose bush??
The rose looks sweet, and smells sweet, but it does have big thorns, that might 'bite' you!!!
I know this from working around my rose plants! haha. They bite... often when you least expect it, or let your guard down!
Anyway, it still was a nice thing!
He is a smart kid, but just got tired and fed up of not learning as much as he had hoped. And learning a LOT... about what he did NOT wish to learn!!!
AND....he is actually having some results with teaching me math. Maybe my problem was that I was a 'slow' math learner, but not an impossible one... so, having a 'one on one' tutor, who has a LOT of patience...
well, I am kind of beginning to get it a wee bit.
Oh and yes Seven....
gay love stories in order to lean Spanish!!! I don't think many people know the full or the whole curriculum ( such as it is), of what is really being taught.
So yes....it was Spanish being taught, for sure! But... with gay love stories thrown in.
Even if it is a 'real' subject, instead of CTR, or environmentalism, of sexual deviancy, etc. etc.
They will throw into a 'real' subject, LOTS of the other stuff.
so plausible deniability...
What? Oh! We are teaching 'real' subjects here 'health' ( a big one for all things sex) Spanish History literature ( lots of gay books) and so on and on.
Yep, they teach 'real' subjects... with a twist.

Hi everyone! There may be other posts that were written after I opened this reply page, because I had to stop writing my post and talk to the hospital here about Chris and schedule some things for him. Then I had to call him and let him know. So if I miss a post, please forgive me and I'll reply tomorrow. (can't anymore cause I have to get busy here.)
It's another rainy day again, but this Thursday is supposed to be our first day in the last week that we will have day without rain! I can't wait! It wouldn't be so bad except that the rain we've been having just pours down at times so you can't see anything but the rain. I've had more than enough of that! We've been under a flood watch for days now. I think there has been some minor flooding in places but nothing major, at least not in our town or the towns my kids live in. But other near by towns have been hit hard. I was surprised to see that about this town:
Leominster is just 40 minutes from my house. One of my neighbors told me there was some bad flooding near by, but I didn't think it was this bad: A Massachusetts city deluged by 'catastrophic' flooding faces more danger as homes near a precarious dam get evacuated www.accuweather.com/en/severe-weather/a-massachusetts-city-deluged-by-catastrophic-flooding-faces-more-danger-as-homes-near-a-precarious-dam-get-evacuated/1578628

I think being a smart kid he will move in a direction of his interests for his future. I would expect he would of gotten to the place where there was no more to learn from the school system since he prays, I think the best thing you can do is to set an example of prayer, to be able to hear from the Lord, that is a strength he will need to use all his life. Now days it is good that young people do not rush into marriage, sometimes marriage works out well but everyone should read about how marriage can end up being a destructive influence that stay that way with a person for the rest of their life. People never used to have access to such information but now days people are talking openly about it.
Hi Dominic, how are you doing?
