BTW I was watching TCM last night nothing was good on I saw Z Channel Maginiget obsession there was channel wayyyyy back in SO CAL back in early 1980s something like ON Selectv in this area they show rare movies from silent to cult classics
They were first to broadcast Director cut of Michael Cinemo Heaven gate then most expensive movie flop ever also Once upon time in America last Sergio Leone movie there was magic period between 1980 to 1989 they show these movies unfortuanely because of cable provider went down the tube unforunately main programmer Jerry Havery who mad genius kill himself and his new wife murder suicide in the 1989 after Z channel was sold to LA Dodgers for sport channel
I think on PLuto tv or Roku channel streaming service if you want check it out you really see magic moment I did have Z channel for while that great tv channel

I agree Cindy...others might be treated the same way. And did not 2 of their doctors refuse to operate...and yet... you found one that did, and Chris did NOT bleed out on the operating table.
I have lost so much confidence in a lot of the medical field. I know, there are many good doctors still, and if one is in a car accident or something and need amputation etc etc. then a hospital is still the place to go
But there is also. in my mind, a lot more lies, greed, lack of compassion, in seemingly more doctors, than before...
That I am doing my best to stay away.

Kelly, I saw that about the sub and the titanic. Bruce saw it on you tube and clicked on it, which is how we happened to hear about it.
It's a beautiful day out here today!

I wasn't at all upset that the doctors in two different hospitals refused to do the surgery. If not for our Lord, Christopher could have easily bled out during the operation. I asked the Lord to close doors that weren't safe for him, and open any that were. The hospital that did the surgery has excellent surgeons that have worked on patients who are on blood thinners. Christopher has to take blood thinners daily and has for years, ever since the Army discovered he was getting blood clots in his legs. After a lot of tests he was diagnosed with Deep vein thrombosis. That's pretty serious because the blood clots can break loose and wind up getting stuck in the lungs, blocking blood flow. That's called a pulmonary embolism and is what killed my father. To prevent this from happening they put Chris on medication that thins his blood so he won't get a clot. That's great....except if they need surgery. Because the blood is so thin, even a little cut will bleed a tremendous amount. For example, one time Chris fell and cut his forehead on something that was on the floor. His girlfriend freaked out and called me. She seriously thought he was dying because there was such a tremendous amount of blood on the floor, even though it was a very small cut. Obviously, Chris went off the blood thinners for 2 days before surgery, but even then, his blood was still very thin. So it takes a very good surgeon to attempt surgery on someone like Chris. And even a great surgeon can't do it alone. They need God's help to prevent the person from bleeding out. (and trust me, I'd been praying for weeks, and of course the entire 3 hours of the surgery! )
Oh, our local hospital tried to make up for not treating Chris in the ER. We had to take him there to see his primary care doctor, as he had a 3pm appointment. I only turned away from Chris for a second...just long enough to grab the door handle and pull it open, when I heard a loud thud! I whirled around and there was Chris, flat on his back on the cement. Bruce had run to help him as had others, and they all said the back of his head was what hit the concrete first, and it was a hard hit. I was shocked that there wasn't any cut or blood. It looked more like a scrape. The next thing I knew there were nurses there wanting to help, but Bruce and another man had already picked Chris up and put him in a wheelchair, so I thanked them and said I could handle it. We went up to his appointment in the wheelchair. I told him there was no way he was walking anymore until he got home! Normally we've had to wait for at least 30 minutes past his appointment time before he'd get to go wait longer in the exam room. Not yesterday though. I had literally just sat down when they called him! So I took him in. This time instead of waiting another 15-20 minutes again, the doctor came in within just a couple of minutes. She's an excellent doctor and always very thorough. She has always spent an hour with Chris. But yesterday, she was with us for 2 hours! She even sent him to radiology for a cat scan to make sure his head was ok. It was after 6pm when we finally got home, and we were both exhausted. But Chris is ok!
I understand you distrust of doctors, I'm the same way. Honestly though, I think if we keep in mind that they are only human, that they will make mistakes (because they're only human), and that they have a lot of patients other than ourselves, and therefore can't and don't remember everything about us, and research our symptoms and diseases using good medical sites like the Mayo clinic or Cleveland clinic, etc., and also research all medications that the doctor wants us to take and make sure there are no interactions with our other meds or food we eat or vitamins etc., that we can still get good help for any problems. In other words, we need to take responsibility for our health rather than totally relying on a doctor.
Like you, I stay away from doctors and hospitals as much as possible. In fact, there've been a few times when I should have gone to the ER but didn't because I knew if I did that I'd be admitted. That was really stupid of me and is an example of God taking care of me even though I made very stupid decisions and knew better. Just like God protected David when he decided to lie to the Philistine King...stupid decision and a sin, but God protected him anyway. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful God! My kids are the same way.
I remember one time when I was working and got really sick. I was so sick, I could hardly walk and needed someone to help hold me up. I knew it was a bad reaction to a new medication the doctor had put me on, apparently I was allergic to it. My boss begged me to let him take me to the ER, but I wouldn't go. He finally asked if I'd let him at least take me home, and I agreed to that. He drove me home and then had to carry me into my house and put me on the couch. (he still tried to get me to let him call an ambulance lol). Once he left, I fell asleep and just slept till the med was out of my system and I felt better. It would have been better if I'd gone to the ER though, and I knew that. They could have flushed it out of my system faster. Oh well.
Oh well, that's more than anyone wanted to know!

That was interesting information Cindy...thank you for explaining it!!!
Yes, about the sub. the owner, is on a video explaining why he did not want to hire 'old white men' ( on the other hand the old white men, had tons of sub expertise) but he said they would not be 'inspiring' to young people coming up in the field. Well I don't think they are very 'inspired' now.
Plus he fired an expert, who said that 'sub' needed a battery of tests, first.... they immediately fired him, and gave him 10 minutes to get out!!! That went to court in 2018.
None of that was very inspiring.
Not sure why the owner CEO ( who died) did not want to do safety tests? It doesn't make sense, unless it was a 'cost' issue?
But you would think that he would want it to be as safe as possible regardless of the cost.
The company did have pages and pages of wavers, a potential client had to sign to avoid lawsuits.... but not sure that will hold in a court of lawsuits, in this case.
Just why would anyone even want to go to the bottom of the ocean to see the tragedy of the Titanic?
All in all very sad!
I am such an 'unadventurous' type...
Not into rock climbing ( height fright) not into the bottom of the ocean ( depth fright) Not even into planes and flying etc. ( I will wait and 'fly' with Jesus, if I live long enough to be raptured, thank you)

Kelly, have you heard of a tree named Moringa that will grow in the southern CA climate? It is a fast growing tree and I am thinking about growing one in an indoor space here in a large pot, so I could move it outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter. Some people do grow that tree there.

That's really neat, thanks Marlene!
My eyes have been hurting for 3 days now, and I just can't deal with it anymore, so I'm going to go sit and just keep my eyes closed as much as possible today.... at least I hope I'll be able to do that.
Have a great day everyone!

So Sorry to hear about your eyes, Cindy!!!! Do you think in part is is so much stress you have been going thru for the last months?
For about a month, I have been dealing with an eye twitch that is annoying....however, that is not the same as what you are dealing with, which is worse for sure!!

Cindy I think what is bothering your eyes is all that smoke coming from Canada, the particulates that are in the atmosphere that covers so many states near where you live, hope the air quality gets better soon, I know when there is smoke from a fire in my area it bothers my eyes and nose, also maybe chemicals in the air that are used to help put out a fire. In my area there is a crop duster airplane that sprays a lot of chemicals over crops and that must get in the air also, speaking of that guy once when he was working someone took a gunshot at him and almost hit him in the plane. I remember Ron meeting and talking to him once, come to think of it, I have seen him working every year but do not see him this year, sometimes I drive by where he works right off of the highway, I will notice if he is there or gone, he might of died as when I saw him last he was an old man. Many of my neighbors in this area are dying lately.

Marlene, I think you're right that the smoke from the fires probably made the Sjogren's flare up worse. Thankfully, they're feeling better today. Not 100% but close to it. But you're right too Barbara, the stress doesn't help either.
I won't be able to be here tomorrow as we have to take Chris to the hospital that's in a city that's an hour away from here. We don't know how long we'll be there, as they may decide to keep him or just do surgery right away or who knows. I'll be so glad when he's all better!
