My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sin says:
You can curse someone, since you want to imitate God, and so based on this verse, you can curse someone who does not have love for the Lord.
22 If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come 1 Corinthians 16:22
However, there is a time for putting someone out of the church ( like those refusing to repent of a sin):
5 you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord 1 Corinthians 5:5
But God says:
Bless those who persecute you bless and do not curse them Romans 12:14
and
21 Do not take to heart all the things that people say lest you hear your servant cursing you. 22 Your heart knows that many times you yourself have cursed others Ecclesiastes 7:21-22
Plus
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths but only such as is good for building up as fits the occasion that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29
Also
10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing My brothers these things ought not to be so James 3:10
Sins says:
The wicked prosper...
The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke God are secure, who bring their god in their hand Job 12:6
and
And now we call the arrogant blessed. Evildoers not only prosper but they put God to the test and they escape Malachi 3:15
However
They spend their days in prosperity and in peace they go down to Sheol Job 21:13
and
3 For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked....
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end Psalms 73:3,17
Plus
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices Psalms 37:7

That's awful that the school buses can't be counted on! As far as kids with medical issues go, I just treated mine the same way I treated those without issues. I made sure that they didn't see it as any big deal. Is there some reason your grandson can't fit everything into his backpack? What about getting him a different, larger backpack that has a separate space to put his medical stuff? Carrying that around that way really sets him apart, which I'm sure he doesn't like.
This was a different study for sure. I understand what you were trying to say, but someone that didn't know the Bible very well, probably wouldn't. You might want to clarify it.

I am pretty sure he has the largest backpack they make.
Devon, has been so used to carrying around his medical bag, I am pretty sure, he does not feel weird or odd about it. I think, Hossanah has done a good job of not making a big issue about it while at the same time, not allowing him to get so lax about it, he could get in serious medical trouble.
Yes, just last month our little town paper had on the first page ( along with other news items) the latest bus situation.
I am not certain, but in some ways, I think part of the problem, is our town fluctuates from not many locals needing a bus to other times many more relying on them to summer when we triple or quadruple in size, and may tourists want to use the bus, sort of like a tour or because they just don't know they way around, and the bus would go the most direct route.
But there are always people who do need the bus, to go to work, in the towns north or south of us.
Towns not so far away, but too far to try and walk to... daily! even 5-10 miles each way daily would be too much for many people.
Oh no.....not that again.... my forgetting to address an issue to someone who has little knowledge of the Bible.
However, I am afraid, I might be or get, even more confusing arrggh
In part because I am tired today. It seemed like Leonard was on the mend and doing better and then we loosened up a bit, on things ( like what he was eating etc.) and that was too soon, and too much
So I have been a little busier ( for me) and I am not feeling totally spry
I am feeling a little sick remember waaay back in the day when
people might have a sore throat, sneeze, have a runny nose, cough etc.....
And guess what? it was not covid
It was called having a bad cold?
yeah well sigh.

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Looking a little more about cursing one's enemy, or take vengeance ourselves, or ask God to do so
Sin says:
In the Bible, especially in the old testament some of God's prophets and beloved ones like king David did it... so....we ought to be able to do so as well.
Sin might point to the Prophet Jeremiah asking this of God:
18 Let those be put to shame who persecute me, but let me not be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed; bring upon them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction! Jeremiah 17:18
or for example, King David, asking God this:
Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it! And let the net that he hid ensnare him; let him fall into it—to his destruction! Psalm 35:8
I probably should point out, there are several definitions for the word 'curse'.
I am not referring to swearing by itself ( tho that is not right either)
But rather to want revenge ( to hurt back... or ask God to, apply violent evil on someone who has seriously hurt you, or viciously wronged by another person you love)
Also, sometimes people will feel free to yell at another person, in anger:
Go to Hell!
I believe, even this expression of anger, is in fact, a type of cursing on one's enemy.
So what does God say about this vengeful attitude? We have to first of all, leave it to the Lord ( not as in asking Him to do so):
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19
I wonder, if a lot of people who even yell at another to go to Hell, are actually thinking of eternity eternity without God? I am aware some humans are so evil, have such harden hearts and do such cruel, evil things to other humans, that I cannot even comprehend..
and yet....to know, they will spend for ever and ever and ever in Hell God will not relent:
2 The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord is avenging and wrathful; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty. Nahum 1:2,3
Still that does bring a certain amount of sadness, if only they could have been reached for God...
But for the normal unsaved sinner, who does mean, hurtful things For one thing God said to abram ( and I think to us as well.. as far as blessing and cursing):
3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:3
As for us, we are told to do this, even tho, it may be one of the hardest things to do:
bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. Luke 6:28
And we ought to keep in mind, Jesus said this:
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire Matthew 5:22
I, personally, have noticed a LOT of insulting others, online! Insults don't generally change minds either.
Plus, we have to remember, we are NOT sin free!
No doubt, we have hurt someone in our life
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23

good one, but you really should do that other one over and make it easier for someone to understand who doesn't know the Bible. That should always be your objective.

I thought that was what I did yesterday.
I wrote:
"Looking a little more about cursing one's enemy, or take vengeance ourselves, or ask God to do so"
And I proceeded from there....to try and be more clear.
So I am thinking that post yesterday did not help?
Or maybe I missed the part you felt was not very well explained?
I am not sure what more to do, or what more is needed?
So since, I don't know, exactly which part you were referring to ( I thought I did, and I did expand on what I thought was the issue but)?
So today, at least, I will do another until, I hear from you, what area is the confusing part because now I am confused.
Also, it was another little sleep night, and I have a slight cold and helping Leonard who is sicker
So, I am not at my clearest today.

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sins says:
Maybe you should not pray because the Bible says you don't know how, as per this verse:
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:26
It is true that we sometimes don't know, exactly what to pray for However, Jesus even gave us a general prayer outline:
9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:9-13
But it is silly to not pray, thinking we might make a mistake etc. and because God says:
17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
And
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Also this
14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 1 John 5:14
Plus
2 Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful Colossians 4:2
Sins says:
Your 'first priority' is to be a people pleaser and to try and please others, Based on:
Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up Romans 15:2
And
33 just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:33
Also
18 If possible so far as it depends on you live peaceably with all Romans 12:18
The problem/sin concerning pleasing others is: Making it one's FIRST priority.
Nothing and nobody, should take precedence over God, others are secondary.
Nor do we seek to please others, by joining in with them, in their sins.
18 So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, Acts 4:18,19
And
24 Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 1 Samuel 15:24
I think we do sometimes fear people ( sometimes they can be super scary and even violent) but we do not have to obey their voice, and try to please them.
Besides, 'loving' our neighbor does not always mean 'pleasing' him or her.

I was thinking maybe I should move on to one of the other studies soon... maybe 'try' number 3 or 4 on the list.
You had written there:
I'd suggest trying one lesson before committing to it. It might be too much at once for you...
So Maybe #4 but really either would be fine. I will leave it up to you... and if you think, I should move on? I just re-read what you first stated and I think, I have managed to do what you gave as a suggestion, on this topic. LOL

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sins says:
Should things get really bad from here on out, you can devote all your time to eating and staying alive. After all you are no good to anyone dead.
God says in His Word, we need to be sure we always have our priories straight and give God the glory. It is okay to want to eat, but in all we do, God must come first.
Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
and
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him Colossians 3:17
Plus
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you Matthew 6:33
Additionally
“Therefore I tell you do not be anxious about your life what you will eat or what you will drink nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Matthew 6:25
Sins says:
You are a strong Christian so you can watch some worldly shows, etc. and not fall into sin.
God says:
I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me Psalms 101:3
Plus
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
also
A rope is hidden for him in the ground, a trap for him in the path Job 18:10
And tho this was for the Israelites I think the idea, a principle of wandering, walking with, and dallying with unbelievers, could be a snare and a trap, for even the strongest believer
Take care, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you go, lest it become a snare in your midst. Exodus 34:12
This
Those who seek my life lay their snares; those who seek my hurt speak of ruin and meditate treachery all day long Psalms 38:12
And
The wicked have laid a snare for me but I do not stray from your precepts Psalms 119:110
This:
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
Not to forget:
Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you 2 Corinthians 6:17
Not the last, but a very good one:
Come out of her, my people lest you take part in her sins lest you share in her plagues Revelation 18:4

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sins says:
Where did you get the silly notion, you are a soldier, in a battle? Come on! You are no soldier, you are way to weak, so best leave any 'battles' to the great saints of God.
God says:
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:10-13
Also:
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us Romans 8:37
This is not a short little skirmish, this warfare has been going on from the beginning. This is how it began, with Satan suggesting to Eve, God's word cannot be trusted.
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” Genesis 3:1
So a part of our spiritual battle is temptation, but we can know this for our encouragement. Jesus was also tempted, by the devil:
18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted Hebrews 2:18
Here are some verses to help us, in our battle:
Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak Matthew 26:41
and
But I say walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh Galatians 5:16 Plus:
4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:4,5
Additionally
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Sorry, I should have been clearer about what I meant. I meant you should copy your post and then add to it to make it clear. Don't bother about it now. I'm afraid that I Spent the morning writing a new article

so I now don't have time to read the rest of what you wrote. I'll try to come back later today if I can and do so. If not, God willing, tomorrow. Bruce has been home sick since last Tuesday, so I may not be able to. But I'll sure try!
You're not sleeping and I'm sleeping 12 hours a night! Crazy huh? I hate it when I sleep that long! Oh well, such is life. Like they say, if it doesn't kill you it'll make you stronger lol. Hope you get more sleep soon!

that would be great! I chose Ephesians since it comes before Philippians lol I started the thread with the intro and instructions and the first lesson. You will have to copy the question of the day before answering it, though, and so will I.
Another good one for October 3rd. Walking with unbelievers is definitely not a good idea. God says that instead of your godliness rubbing off on them, their sins will rub off on you!
October 4ths was a good one.
Leonard has been sick for over a week...and I am not feeling all that great either :(
I am posting today, but it is up above, again haha :)
It will probably be short as I am in a lot of pain, and tired. I'm sorry to hear about Leonard being sick and you too. I've just been in a lot of pain, but that's not unusual. Sadly Bruce has been sick (like Leonard) and hasn't worked since Last Monday. Let's pray we're all feeling much better by tomorrow!
