My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sin says:
A little pride is okay, because you really are smarter, work harder and better than others do, accomplish more etc. So it's not 'really ...pride' it is simply the 'truth'.
The Holy Spirit, God's Word, the Bible says:
Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall Proverbs 16:18
and
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5
Plus
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you 1 Peter 5:6
This
I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pomp of the arrogant, and lay low the pompous pride of the ruthless Isaiah 13:11
Also
2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips Proverbs 27:2
I only slept an hour last night and keep falling asleep so therefore
Done for today
Good one! I hope you sleep better tonight! Well, thank you Cindy :)
I was thinking you were going to point out that because I have now lost 2 inches in height that would make my BMI index even worse.
I am think you are taller than me, by a few inches, at least?
But no, I do not think about food all the time
but I do worry about gaining I also am hypothyroid and that can make keeping a proper weight more difficult.
However, one thing I have noticed is ( in the past anyway) generally people as they age they do lose weight.
and since I will soon be 76 but not yet at the age where I have noticed people lose weight Anyway.... perhaps that will happen to me eventually ( rather than keep packing on the pounds) should the Lord delay and I don't die yet, for awhile.
I tend to mostly eat 2 meals a day
Maybe once a week, ( sometimes twice a week) I have a breakfast But generally wait until about 11 or 12 before eating. The reason you and I have gained weight (and lost height) isn't due to any sin, especially not gluttony. It's due to our bodies deteriorating because our health is getting worse. If we ate the same thing now as we did when we were younger, we'd weight a lot more than we do now and it still wouldn't be a sin. I don't know if you were taller or shorter than I was or am because I've shrunk a lot too. It doesn't matter though since this body is just temporary. I now eat ice cream almost every night because it's the one thing I can eat that really tastes good and doesn't hurt my stomach or any other part of my body. So I've gained weight because of that (about 10 pounds) but again, it's not a sin. If I was able to walk, and do stuff, I wouldn't have gained any weight. Oh.... opps
Today's post is several posts above I don't know if when that happens you would prefer me to re-post it so it will be the latest post....
or just leave it and let you 'hunt' for it LOL :P
I will just leave it today
I know we have had this conversation about this exact problem before but I forgot what you said :( I know, I saw it yesterday. No problem. Oh, I was just on the phone with Mark (Pathwalker) and he said to tell you that you and Leonard are in his thoughts and prayers always.

I don't know if your hospital/clinic, has on your print out (of what went on for your appointment and what you were told etc.)
and it includes a little symbol of a human body
It shows what you are 'supposed to look like (via BMI)
and then...
there is another symbolic body figure drawn the around the 'ideal' you
that shows where you actually are at...
( plumper.....or as my mom used to say 'stout')
As an artist, I take issue with their representation of a human body icon LOL :)

See how God is tempting you?
God says:
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. James 1:13
And
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sin says:
Yes, you are a strong believer, but to think, the devil could be bothered to tempt you, is silly, Satan has bigger fish to fry!
The Bible says:
5 For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain. 1 Thessalonians 3:5
True, Paul was one of the 'big fish', but God may yet use any small fish in a big way, and so like Paul, this could be possible
because we wanted to come to you— I, Paul, again and again— but Satan hindered us. 1 Thessalonians 2:18
Therefore, don't let your guard down
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
Also this.... yes, Peter ( Simon Peter) became great, but he started out an ordinary fisherman
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, Luke 22:31
This said by Jesus, concerning believers and the devil ( Satan), the evil one.
15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one John 17:15
Temptations are sure to come most may be just our sin nature, and never from God
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. James 1:13
and
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me Psalms 51:5
But other sin temptations are from the world
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted Galatians 6:1
or even the devil and/or his demons
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. No, ours has nothing about weight on it. Too many people here would punch someone in the nose if it did. Remember, NH is the "live free or die" state! I've always had an issue with so called guidelines of what we're supposed to look like. It's simply not right ethically and secondly, it's downright wrong in many cases. They really don't take into consideration the type of body shape each individual has - and there are a great many of them! (a lot more then the few they recognize!) For example, my youngest daughter is built differently than I am. She favors my father's side of the family. She was unfortunate to wind up with exceptionally large breasts. She started puberty when she was 9 years old and at that time was as thin as a stick. But by 10 her breasts were huge and her body got larger to compensate for them. Her breast size has nothing to do with weight, other than she obviously weighed more because of them. My point is though, that if she weighed what they say she "should" weigh, she would wind up with back pain and other problems because of her breasts. And she'd look ridiculous.
I think it's another one of Satan's strategies to keep people focused on themselves, and it works really well too.

Very good! Let me share something about one of the verses you used that I think is interesting: I looked it up in 30 different Bibles and these are all the different ways it's said: ESV Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.
NASB95 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely will be delivered.
NIV He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe.
NRSV Those who trust in their own wits are fools; but those who walk in wisdom come through safely. The reason I find this interesting is because it shows that when the Bible mentions the word "heart" or the word "mind" they both mean the same thing. Both are speaking of both the persons thoughts and their feelings. You could also translate that verse as "He who trusts in his own instincts is a fool" or "or ideas" or "own feelings." The Bible teaches that we can't trust anything about ourselves. The only thing trustworthy is God and His Word.

Good one! But I'd like to point out too, that the Bible teaches us that we don't need to know where our temptation came from. It's enough for us to know they come from Satan, our flesh and the world. But when we sin, we don't need to even consider where our temptation to sin came from, because it doesn't matter. The way we are to react to temptation is exactly the same no matter which one it came from. A great example of how to react to temptation is Joseph, the dreamer. He RAN from temptation, and drew near to God, which is exactly what we should do as well. I've seem many people who play with danger by getting as close to sin as they possibly can without actually participating in it. They pride themselves in being able to do so. What they don't understand is that it's a sin to do that and it's a sin to take pride in being able to do so. They invariably fall and it's always a very hard fall!

Good points...as always! :)
I see what you mean...I actually wasn't thinking we should analyze, where the sin or temptation came from, I was just stating there are different sources, but I see your point, it could have come across that way. Thank you for the pointer as always! :)
I agree, there is a temptation, to try to get as close to sin, as possible,
not realizing you still could get singed, just by being so close, or a spark could fly out and give you a nasty burn....
Instead:
14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. 15 Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on. Proverbs 4:14,15

Yes, at Providence, you get a review of everything about your visit it could be pages and pages long....
However, always on the first page is your weight and height and a little icon with your BMI calculation showing what you 'should' be and what you actually are.
The interesting thing is Years ago, when I went from 180 lbs to 94 lbs and was 'taller'
I don't recall the little icon suggesting I was too thin and representing that.

Sins says
Your wife is so unreasonable, emotional, illogical, whiner etc you don't have the time or inclination to prop her up, or nourish her, God surely understand how hard it is on you.
The Bible says
Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7
Sin says
Your sin only affects you, and you can quickly pray, ask forgiveness and that will be the end of it.
God says your folly of sin affects many others for example your family, thus consider Lot, and David, for some examples.
Lot's wife and daughters appeared to be unsaved, but certainly the daughters, sinned grievous sins, albeit, they thought all men had died.
31 And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth. 32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.” 33 So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. Genesis 19: 31-33
Lot had chosen to be enticed by the world, so he made his own choice, without consulting God etc.
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar.... Genesis:13:10
However, he did not consider this apsect, of his own choosing:
13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord. Genesis 13:13
David's sin with Bathsheba had terrible consequences in his own family, the son of that sin died.
15 And the Lord afflicted the child that Uriah's wife bore to David, and he became sick. 16 David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground. 17 And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them.
18 On the seventh day the child died. 2 Samuel 12:15-18
And
Bathsheba's husband, Uriah died ( was set up, and killed actually). and His sons were also sadly affected
Amnon raped Tamar.
( Tamar was Amnon's sister, David's daughter)
14 he would not listen to her, and being stronger than she, he violated her and lay with her. 2 Samuel 13:14
Absalom, another son of David, rebelled and tried to take over the throne, and is later killed in a most brutal and ignominious way.
And on it went.
But, it had even far wider consequences... even to David's enemies.
Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. 2 Samuel 12:14

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sins says
If God punishes you, and you have to suffer some consequence for some 'small' sin, it proves He is not very loving
The Bible says:
For the Lord disciplines the one he loves and chastises every son whom he receives Hebrews 12:6
and
Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word Psalms 119:67
Also
For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it Hebrews 12:11
Plus
If you are left without discipline in which all have participated then you are illegitimate children and not sons Hebrews 12:8
Additionally
For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them,
but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness Hebrews 12:10
Sin says
You don't really really lose anything for your sins ( especially because now they are just small ones anyway).
God says:
14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire 1 Corinthians 3:14,15
And
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we, an imperishable 1 Corinthians 9:24,25
Believers want to hear this:
23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master Matthew 25:23
Therefore, don't lose your crowns confess and repent:
I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown Revelation 3:11

Done for today
Good one, as usual!
So far so good!

LOL Yes... I only slept a little last night, so kind of falling asleep,
which takes longer to write.....
Who knew, that falling asleep, would take longer to write? LOL
Thank you as always :)
Electronics...don't get me started Okay, one little example LOL
Leonard bought me a new track phone and not only paid for it but for some minutes etc.
only.... it won't work
Soooooo he calls for tech help ( after a useless time spent with a bot)
then, tech guy had Leonard scroll thru endless set-ups do this go there click on this go to...
And on and on and on and on
Finally after about 1/2 an hour tech says Go to
whatever see blah blah
Nope Leonard looks and looks and rechecks
and says: I don't see that
So what does the helpful tech do?
He hangs up!
so Leonard will have to go thru all that again maybe today but things have been crazy here
Hossanah as usual worked a double shift yesterday
but had to go in super early today her last assistant manager is sick he does the really big truck early in the morning
Sooooo, off she went no other assistants left
So Leonard took her in very early and then zoomed back in a hurry so he could get the kids up and take them all to school
It used to be that if Hossanah even did one shift if she Closed then she could not come in the next morning OSHA safety or health ruling, maybe?
But now.... a double shift, and back in by 5 to unload a huge truck
Oh well times have changed :(

Barbara, when you write something like this: "LOL Yes...I only slept a little last night, so kind of falling asleep," I have no idea what you're replying about. Partly because I can't remember everything I said the day before, and partly because I spend all morning in the Bible studying, so when I come here, my mind is filled to overflowing with God's Word. This is why it would be very helpful if you at least quote the part of what I said that you're replying to. It's fine if you delete the rest of it. That would save me from having to try and figure out what you're replying to. Plus, in some cases, like today, when I do look back, I still don't have a clue what you're saying "yes" to!
Sin says
You don't really really lose anything
for your sins
( especially because now they are just small
ones anyway).
God says:
14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives,
he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone's work is burned up,
he will suffer loss,
though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire
1 Corinthians 3:14,15
And
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run,
but only one receives the prize?
So run that you may obtain it.
25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things.
They do it to receive a perishable wreath,
but we,
an imperishable
1 Corinthians 9:24,25
Believers want to hear this:
23 His master said to him,
‘Well done, good and faithful servant.
You have been faithful over a little;
I will set you over much.
Enter into the joy of your master
Matthew 25:23
Therefore, don't lose your crowns
confess and repent:
I am coming soon.
Hold fast what you have,
so that no one may seize your crown
Revelation 3:11
Done for today
This is the rest of what you wrote and I want to address what you said here: "Therefore, don't lose your crowns, confess and repent" and then quoted Rev 3:11. That's misleading because if you have sinned, especially knowingly or in a major way, even if you confess and repent, you will still lose some, many or even all of your rewards (crowns). Now, if it was something minor, like you hit your thumb with a hammer and let out one swear word, and instantly confessed and repented, you most likely won't lose anything, although I can't guarantee that. Plus, the verse you quoted to support what you said, doesn't support it. No where does it say that if you sin but then confess and repent that you'll still get that crown. Instead it says to "hold fast" to what you have. Those words in the original language also translate as "be master of, to keep carefully and faithfully, to cause a state to continue" Therefore there's no possibility of holding it fast, then dropping it by sinning, and then picking it up again. See what I mean?
Our Father isn't a big meanie, but He does and will discipline us, just as any decent human father would discipline a child that had done something they were told not to do. He disciplines us, which can include a loss of reward (crown), not because He's mean, but because He wants us to have all the rewards He wants to give us. So He would much rather take one or two away now, then have us wind up missing a bunch of them later due to sin. That's why we are warned: “Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.” (2 John 8) ““Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1) “If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.” (1 Corinthians 3:12–15) and many others.
I do understand what you were trying to say, because obviously, if we sin, we must confess it and repent, and the sooner the better. But when we're speaking as a "teacher", we must be very careful how we say things so other people don't think we've said something we didn't mean to imply. It's best to write (or speak) as though the person listening to us, has only an elementary education (if that much even!) in order to make what we're saying as clear and as simple as possible, but also totally accurate, to anyone that may be reading it. I know you're probably tired of me harping on this, and I'll stop if you want me to. But at the same time, I sure appreciate it when someone lets me know when I've done the same thing. (and I've done it more then I'd like to admit!)

Hossanah
she is working about 12 hours each day now
She has been doing the small supply truck by herself, it takes her a couple of hours about 2 or so
But now, the very last assistant manager is out sick
( Hossanah now goes to work at 4:30 or 5 ish and stays until 8 at night)
But the last assistant, she has ( a guy) is out sick
So today, the really really big truck comes and a crew always turns up to help him
But....
Today Leonard got Hossanah to work, guess what?
No crew!
Mind you, this is a truck that needs a male ( a bit stronger and bigger) with a crew of men, would unload this big truck)
I sure don't think she can unload the whole thing herself?
maybe send it on, unloaded?
maybe the crew is just late ( traffic jam at 4:30 in the wee morning, in our rural podunk place?)
Things just keep deteriorating and not just for Hossanah and the store she manages but it seems a lot of stores are having all manner of problems.
When I saw her coming home yesterday, she looked like she was not just tired, but hurting ( limping almost.... but Leonard did not mention it today, so I guess she repaired the tired muscles in her sleep, or whatever)

Good points....I will try to remember them. I think the most helpful, is to write or speak
"as though the person listening to us, has only an elementary education (if that much even!) in order to make what we're saying as clear and as simple as possible, but also totally accurate, to anyone that may be reading it".
Unfortunately, it seems a lot of schools ( not all) don't emphasis the old fashion, reading, writing and arithmetic.
Rather they are focused on teaching about being trans, environmentalism, evolution, BLM, marxism, etc. etc.
So you are right, there are some real reasons to precise.
When I wrote: yes, LOL falling asleep... I was not quoting you....
I was more or less talking to myself, as I was actually continually falling asleep
I will be careful, not to do that again. It sounded stupid anyway. But sometimes I sound kind of punch drunk, when I am suffering from lack of sleep.
Nevertheless, there is no need for me to write silly things! I apologize.
I see your point in quoting, and will also try to do that for some reason, I find it somewhat hard... I guess, it is just laziness on my part, (just more steps...more editing etc)
and when I am tired, it does not come automatically..... yet.
But I do understand you have no idea what I am talking about or referring to, in some (or all ) cases.
When I am really tired, my other inclination is just not to reply at all to what you said, to avoid doing the quote thing
I know...it does not make sense... it is laziness, and again I apologize.
I am sure, the more I do it, the easier and more automatic it would be. its not THAT hard...
but sometimes to me, it is one more step and if I am tired, the learning curve of even something so very very simple seems too much.
You know, old people, set in their ways right....that is not a good excuse!
So, I will make an effort to just buck up and just do it.

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sins says You cannot help but be envious of all the material wealth, that unbelievers have acquired.
The Holy Spirit says:
1 Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, 2 for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble. Proverbs 24:1,2
and
3 For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end. Psalm 73:3,17
Also
Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked Proverbs 24:19
This
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 1 Corinthians 13:4
Sin says:
You must always put serving and being busy for the Lord as your first priority in your Christian walk.
Not that serving others is wrong, but it should not be our first priority. Our first priority....
Jesus says:
37 And he said to him, [“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. Matthew 22:37,38
And this
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”
41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:40-42
Also 'seek' Him first fellowship with the Lord first be in His Word, the Bible and in prayer ( communication).
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who seek Him Hebrews 11:6
Sin says:
You should be very depressed and discouraged when all manner of temptations come your way
God says:
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.
4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4
and..... steadfast, not whining, and depressed
12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12
And instead of depression
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:2
Plus
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry Colossians 3:5
Because:
the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 2 Peter 2:9

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sins says:
Because you sin, you are not saved
The Bible says:
We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin Romans 6:6
So this is also true
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:7-10
Likewise
17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do Galatians 5:17
Although, sin has survived in our body but not in our spirit... it's survival is not, reigning.
The spirit inside is born again but the old outer shell of human flesh remains until Heaven
The sinning the believer does, is not a joyful, carefree, deliberate habit
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God 1 John 3:9
A believer might struggle with an addiction/habit acquired before salvation, but they are struggling, not happy in it and they also need to remember, in this struggle
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8,9
And this
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
Plus
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous 1 John 2:1
And
Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is 1 John 3:2
Further
4 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died— more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us Romans 8:34

Hossanah is getting very tired, unloading 2 trucks in one day...is a LOT! Plus all the other duties, and working 12 hours.
She did get 3 applications for assistant manager
One gal, has for the last 4 days in a row, had an excuse for why she cannot come into work
( this woman did passed the online written test for the position, too bad she is not actually able to work, it seems).
Another promised sincerely she would not flake and then proceeded to have a medical emergency, and is not sure when she will be able to work.
So so so many are having medical issues, or so they claim.
and I forgot about the third....she never showed.
Oh yes, on every cart is a hiring sign and on all the windows are hiring signs when you leave a flyer about hiring is included in every bag
local newspaper hiring ads and online hiring ads
and of course, said in a fun and pleasant way when customers complain to her about long lines she immediately asks if they might like to work there, she is hiring :) etc.
Yesterday, there were 2 cashiers and herself, in the whole store but that is more than some days.
She has started limping badly, and I do worry, she might get hurt. She has never limped before that I know of. she looks so tired, each day, more so than the last.
Yesterday when having our short chat, she was almost asleep but off today for a double shift ,as always, now-a-days.
Her district manager offered her a week vacation and they would not take it out of her pay check....
She asked...when?
Well, he said, when her one assistant manager comes back ( IF he does)
But that would not work because, he would need at least one assistant, and there are none so far.
So at this point...... a rather useless offer. :(

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sin says:
You need to act silly, and be childish, in order to enter Heaven
This is a misunderstanding of this verse:
and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3
God is not suggesting we become self-centered, immature people... like little children are. ( we do that fine without even giving it a thought)
There is a difference between, 'Childish' and having child like, unwavering faith. And we should also to be like a child, in our not being greatly experienced in sin.
Nor does God want us to reason, think, or lack critical thinking, like children
The Bible also says this:
When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 1 Corinthians 13:11
It seems to me, that many people on the internet, are 'speaking' more and more, like children.
( and that is almost disrespectful of children, because, children are often are not as childish as some adults who post online these days)
Along similar lines to be childish, Sin also says
you are to believe 'everything' by confusing this verse
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:7
A Christian believes everything God says, because everything God says, is the absolute truth!
However, we are NOT to believe everything man says:
The Bible says:
The simple believes everything but the prudent gives thought to his steps Proverbs 14:15
and
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Acts 17:11
Sin says its actually okay to covet its in the Bible
That is silly covet has more than one meaning. Wanting what somebody else has, is NOT okay, it is a wicked sinful desire
“You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.” Exodus 20:17
On the other hand, covet can also mean to 'earnestly desire' the things that God approves of!
But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. 1 Corinthians 12:31

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's problems at work. I sure hope the kids are old enough now that you're not having to babysit all that time. Don't worry about quoting, I'll figure out what you're talking about, and if I can't, I'll just ask you like I've been doing.
You did a good job on the bible study! Did you get the email I forwarded to you by D.Telbat? I thought it was so neat and that he was kind of doing the very same thing you are here. That's why I thought you'd like it.

What is odd, is I thought I was getting all his e-mails, but I did not get that one from him. So thank you so much for sending it!
Today, Leonard had to take Hossanah early again for the big truck and once again, the 'traveling' crew, had not shown up. Maybe with the one assistant ( who is out sick) had a very laid back attitude about time?
Prayerfully, they will show, albeit late.
No we do not baby sit, but Leonard takes them to and from school, each day, and Hossanah to work.
So he is essentially a cab driver.
Last night the cats were in and out all night. Its strange some nights, they hardly budge ( well until around 4 or so in the morning) but other nights, they are endlessly in and out.
If it were day time, I might let them stay out and not be so quick to be the doorman
But at night, I worry about predators and the like. Plus, I can't sleep well, if they are not safely in.
So I am very tired today but will make an effort. :)

My words are in this color Bible scripture in this color Sins words are in this color
Sin says:
Kind of along the same lines as yesterday, when it was suggested by sin that we ought to be 'silly' like children to enter into Heaven.
Today, sin says: we ought to be: 'foolish' based on misinterpreting these verses:
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe 1 Corinthians 1:21
But the reason this is said is because unbelievers consider what we believe to be foolish...i.e.
For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God 1 Corinthians 1:18
and
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 1 Corinthians 3:18
The unsaved, see themselves as very wise and the believers as ignorant buffoons. However, Christians are willing to be called 'fools' in order to be saved.
Those doing the mocking are the real, fools sadly. And so then this verse,
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise Ephesians 5:15
Speaking of 'fools' sin says: you cannot think, or call anyone foolish, or a fool, based on this verse:
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool! will be liable to the hell of fire Matthew 5:22
I could be wrong, but I think, a lot is dependent on the operative word 'insult'. If one speaks what is the absolute truth in a very insulting manner, ( that would be a sin)
Nevertheless, it is the 'truth' that unbelievers are, in fact, desperate sad fools, not knowing they are headed for eternity in Hell..
But then, that verse seems to be calling, a true believer a fool.
So then, how does this verse work?
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified Galatians 3:1
Again, I think, in this particular case, the word foolish, has more of a meaning, that is leaning towards:
"a person lacking in judgment not understanding"
rather than....
an unbelieving fool, who deliberately ( for lack of a better word) is a fool or stupid...
due to unwarranted pride esteeming oneself, (in essence), and thinking they are their own god.
Therefore, one can, in fact, say they are fools:
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good Psalms 14:1
and this also
21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22Claiming to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:21,22

Why does he have to drive them to school and pick them up? Doesn't the school have buses to do that if they live to far away to walk? Here, the buses pick up elementary school children right at their house and drop them off at their house. The older kids are picked up at the end of their street and dropped off there too. (but that's only if the kids live to far away to walk.) I would think you'd feel somewhat better now that you don't have to babysit anymore. Speaking of how you feel, are you still using your inhaler at least twice a day?

There are buses, and one year Rylan took it, because he 'wanted' to, the other two did not...
I think you may have to get to the bus stop an half an hour earlier (because, it goes all over the place...and sometimes there are a lot of stops with a lot of kids, and sometimes a lot less kids its erratic)
another problem, is walking to the bus stop in the rain, and standing out in the rain, waiting 15 mins to 1/2 an hour in the rain ( buses are often not on time)
Also I have lifted their backpacks..... they must weigh 25-30 pounds...if not more. I literally could almost NOT lift them they are so heavy heavy books, notebooks, lunch etc etc. They are huge and heavy really heavy.
and Devon, also has to carry his trombone, ( it is also big) and his medical bag... (one in each in each hand....) plus his backpack on his back.
He has been getting a lot of headaches the last few days and tho, does not take a lot of meds broke down to take some for his headache plus his asthma has been bother him This brand new school ( first time in use0 has a LOT of stairs) and tho, in some ways I think could be good for his lungs and general health....lifting a 25-30 pond backpack trombone, and medical bag all day long
Nevertheless, at this point he has been complaining of being short of breath after climbing up and down stairs as each class in on a different floor so a lot of climbing and if you forget something back up and down you go.... One way to learn to keep track of your stuff tho :)
I never heard yet, from Hossanah if the travel crew to unload the big big truck, ever turned up yesterday or not
What I do know, is Hossanah was feeling very very sick and came home at 4 instead of staying to full 12 hours.
Today she went in at 6 ( instead of 5) and because she is feeling so sick she may close the store around noon or so. She will call Leonard and let him know.
This is the first time in over 11 years, she has taken any time off ( as a sick day) She just does not do that.
But yesterday coming home earlier she had gone in at 5 and left for home at 4 in the afternoon, was a first.
and today...if she comes home even earlier that will be a 2nd.
But Vanessa came over yesterday, to tell us her mom, Hossanah was really sick....
Hossanah has had colds etc before, and always just worked thru them. ( I almost certain it is NOT covid)
But she has been working very hard I don't 'think' she unloaded that massive truck by herself!..... that is why there is a traveling crew!
but then they seem to have become super lax in showing up on time or maybe even at all. I did not get to ask, as she was asleep, by the time I went over to see how she was doing.
But yes, I have been using my inhaler thank you so much for asking!
I always use it at least...twice a day once, I think I miscounted and I 'think' I accidentally used it 5 times
I have not used the oxi-meter in a long time tho but did the other day and while immediately after using the inhaler...
and it read 95% it zoomed really fast down to 90-91%
and the BP was 66-65 ( I don't 'think' that is a 'healthy' athletic low tho)
Usually it starts at 90 and works it way to 70 something.
But thank you for checking and keeping me accountable! :) So far, I have been 'good' :) nurse, Cindy, and accountability partner :) :)

Boy, if that was true about the buses in our area, everyone would stop paying taxes until they saw that the buses were always on time. Even the neighboring towns, one of which is more like a city (at least to us) but their buses are never more then a couple of minutes late.
Back when my kids were going to school, parents had built little shelters at each bus stop. Just something that would keep the rain off of them if it was raining. There's hardly any left now though. But they have a great invention to keep people dry in the rain called umbrellas, so that's what the kids use now days. (actually mine did too as they had to walk to the end of the road. (the end of our road would be the equivalent of walking past maybe 3 houses, if there were houses there.) (I can't resist teasing you!)
Wasn't your backpack heavy when you went to school? I know mine sure was! (mainly because I actually did my homework, and actually studied, plus since I liked to read I was always toting at least one or two extra fiction books along too. (thankfully, I didn't have to carry my piano! )
My grandson also has to carry his trombone along with his heavy backpack. He and his sister could take the bus to school as they're on the line where it's considered to far to walk, but they both prefer to walk so that's what they usually do, unless they're running late. If your grandson's books are really too heavy for him to carry around, then his parents should call the school and talk to them about it, as the teachers shouldn't be asking kids to carry more then they can handle. I know my backpack was really heavy, and so are those of my grandkids, although theirs feel heavier then I remember mine being. But that's most likely because I can't pick up the weight I used to due to the pain I'm in. I'm sure the same is true for you as well. Elijah and Grace don't think it's a big deal though, and that's good since they're the ones that have to carry it.
I'm sorry to hear your daughter is sick. I hope she's feeling better by now!
Seriously now, I want to explain something about the oximeter readings. I'm so glad you're using it at least twice a day and pray that soon you'll use it at least 3 or 4 times a day. I'm thrilled that at least once you used it 5 times! Let me share what some medical sites say about the oximeter readings:
SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation levels) of a healthy person should fall in between 94% and 100%. Supplementary oxygen should be used if SpO2 level falls below 90%, which is unacceptable for a prolonged period of time. Medicare will pay for oxygen therapy and oxygen equipment if your SpO2 readings are below 88%. If your blood oxygen saturation falls under 88% consistently, consult with a doctor immediately. Many doctors want their patients to have their SpO2 above 90%.
A healthy person should be able to achieve normal blood oxygen saturation levels (SpO2) of 94% to 99% consistently. For patients with mild respiratory diseases, the SpO2 should be 90% or above. Supplementary oxygen should be used if SpO2 levels falls below 90%, which is unacceptable for prolonged periods of time.
Recently we have learned that Finger Pulse Oximeters are becoming an essential tool for detecting early Covid-19 caused Pneumonia in patients, even when they are not showing pneumonia symptoms, as reported by Doctor Richard Levitan in The New York Times article The Infection Thats Silently Killing Coronavirus Patients.
Monitor your pulse rate along with your SpO2. They are predictors of health problems. If you have abnormal readings even for a short period of time, see a doctor. Low or high pulse rate can indicate heart problems.
The amount of oxygen in the air, which decreases at higher altitude, would have a significant effect on a person's SpO2. A person may have a reading of 98% at sea level; it may decrease to 95% at 5,000 ft. and further to 90% at 10,000 ft. At altitude above 10,000 ft., a person may fail to adjust to the low level of oxygen and his SpO2 may drop below 80% resulting in hypoxic conditions.
Under various conditions, a pulse oximeter would give inaccurate readings. Keep these factors in mind while taking measurements. Irregular signals can post problems for a pulse oximeter. The problem signals can be caused by irregular heartbeats or by patient's movements. If this is the problem, one can tell by looking at the SpO2 waveform which is available on some pulse oximeters. I forgot to tell you that you shouldn't cross your legs or arms when taking a reading, and you need to hold still. Exposure to strong external light while taking measurement may result in inaccurate readings. Shield the sensors from bright lights. Nail polish and pressed-on nails may interfere with readings. Remove them. Dark skin pigmentation can give over-estimated SpO2 readings when it is below 80%. Find a place where the skin color is lighter. Warm up your hands first before trying to use your pulse oximeter in a cold environment. Another thing that causes problems is if your finger is cold (which mine always are due to Raynauds, so I have to warm them up before using the oximeter.)
Pulse oximetry readings: It consistently provides results within a 2-percent difference either way of what it truly is. If your reading was 82 percent, for example, your true oxygen saturation level may be anywhere from 80 to 84 percent. An oxygen saturation level of 95 percent is considered normal for most healthy individuals. A level of 92 percent indicates potential hypoxemia, or deficiency in oxygen reaching tissues in the body.
oximeter normal reading for elderly: A normal oxygen saturation level is 97-100% but older adults typically have lower levels than younger adults. If an individual is older than 70, a normal oxygen level for elderly adults may be about 95%, which is acceptable. In extreme cases, low oxygen levels can result in hypoxemia or hypoxia. The former, which is low oxygen in your blood, can cause the latter, which is low oxygen in your tissues. However, “hypoxia” is commonly used to describe both problems. If you have symptoms, you should call 911 immediately.
Which finger should you choose for pulse oximeter? The third finger of the dominant hand has been considered the best option for a pulse oximeter. The second option can be the dominant thumb. That means if you are right-handed, use your right middle finger or thumb. And left middle finger or thumb for left-handed people. The difference between fingers is not huge. So it's fine if you are using your index finger.
I was also taught to wait a couple of minutes to read the oximeter as that would be the true reading. In other words, if it says 99, then fluctuates between other numbers, none of those numbers are your true reading. You have to wait until it is showing the same number and not changing. If I'm unsure of a reading, I will also check it on the opposite hand or even on my toe and see what those say. They should all agree or at least be very close to the same number, assuming your fingers aren't cold, you don't have nail polish on, and you're not moving around or crossing your arms or legs.

Good one. Isn't it interesting that the catholic church forces their priests to stay single, against God's Word?
Sorry to hear Leonard's sick hon. Hope you don't catch it! Bruce is home sick today too. Praying for you all!

Wow....Thank you for all the oximeter info!
My reading usually settles most of the time at 92....tho if I take a reading right after inhaler, it will be 96 or 95.
I have always used my index finger tho so maybe will try another one just to see.
And I do in fact wait...for the reading to settle down
I also did not know about the leg crossing I can't remember if I do that or not? but now I will be aware... not to do that.
But years ago, my doctor said ( due to some test...MRI or X-ray or whatever) I had an enlarged heart
I often wonder if along with being hypo-thyroid, if some of my malaise was due to a minor heart problem, and then also, to the 2 types of lung diseases.
No in Seaside there is only one bus stop, (that I know of), that has an like shelter like thingy.
Its on the main highway, near the big Safeway, MacDonald's, and Rite-Aid stores.
Definitely, no shelter where the kids would wait.
Yes, the buses are really irregular time-wise here...sigh. The come once an hour at best...but sometimes far less.
The issue is often in our little town paper, and I read recently, they will be cutting even further back on times and routes.
But even the school buses are even more sketchy at best... I know from the one year waiting for Rylan
It was sometimes 1/2 later than when it was 'supposed to come. and so I would be standing out in the pouring rain for a long time, getting soaked ( plus it was often windy) sniff sniff Fall and winter weather on the west coast can be... ('interesting' ha-ha :)
Oh I forgot, I think the first year Devon started going to school here, Leonard walked him to the bus stop ( a different one...closer to the ocean ( we live 2 blocks from the ocean) but then, they would have to turn and walk a few more blocks to the pick-up point.
And that bus was even worse.... Leonard got so frustrated, that was when he started taking ( Just Devon at that time) because it was a lot faster that way.
I don't think the kids feel their backpacks are too heavy well, sometimes Rylan complained in the first day or so, his shoulders were hurting.
But for Devon, its all the additional climbing of stairs with the backpack, his trombone in one hand and his medical bag in the other So to grab a railing is hard... or rather nigh to impossible
no doubt tho good for strengthening his legs :)
But... if someone were to push him.....accidentally while going up or down a flight of stairs or push him in 'fun'.....
That could be an added problem! Especially if his asthma was keeping him out of breath.
But I guess, I don't need to predict the future that may never happen.
I know, you must have good advise with a child with some medical issues and how not to worry or baby them.
